Secret Gordon; The Unknown Comic

1 [cheerful music.]
# Harvey # # Harvey # # Harvey # [soft music.]
It was so cool of Jeremy to invite us to his lecture on active listening and staying focused.
- Ooh, what's that? - Piri? Uh wait up! Look, Harvey.
A hole.
[wind blowing.]
Wow, it's very symmetrical.
I wonder what would happen if I put all my body weight forward, and slowly started to fall.
Wait, Piri! [screams.]
Both: Whoa! [both grunt.]
- Ow, I landed on my keys.
- Look over there.
[music.]
Both: A secret garden.
Whoa.
[funky soft music.]
Wow.
It beautiful! - Lilacs, tulips, daffodils - You know lots about flowers.
Just spring arrangements mostly.
For the first three months of my life, my mom fed me soil.
You know what? I think this whole place is alive.
We should give it a name.
I'll divine it's name with an ancient throat-singing ritual.
[warbling.]
It's name is Gordon.
With some sprucing up, Gordon could be the nicest spot in Littlebark.
[soft music.]
Look, gardening tools! Gordon wants us to help him! We heed your call, Gordon.
Oh, gasp! Oh, no.
That flower looks so sad.
Harvey, it's not breathing! What do we do? Oh, I think it just needs a little sunlight.
[music.]
See? He's feeling better already.
It's funny.
I never realized how vibrant your aura is.
Oh, really? Well, thanks, Piri.
[giggles.]
Come on.
Let's get this place cleaned up.
[cheerful music.]
Whoa! [both giggling.]
[music.]
What a difference! I think Gordon is really happy with all the work we've done.
We make a great team.
Today has been amazing.
I had a lot of fun hanging out just the two of us.
And I got to use my dad's good china.
To celebrate, I wrote a song from the point of view of Mother Gaia.
[playing upbeat flute music.]
I can't wait for everyone to see this place.
Everyone? Yeah, you know how much the guys like gardens.
It'll be great.
I'll be right back! [soft dramatic music.]
But I thought this was our special place.
Why do I feel so upset? I can't explain it in words, but maybe I can with a song.
[soft music playing.]
What do you call what I feel? It makes me happy and nervous And it's so unreal It's weird I'm weird [sighs.]
When it's just Harvey and I I never want it to end And I don't know why It's dumb I'm dumb [music.]
I'm freaking out I'm getting sweaty I just might throw up my spaghetti It's a special kind of feel That I can't explain Piri, where are you? Wrap it up, wrap it up, wrap it up.
[somber music.]
[sighs.]
Allow me to introduce you all to Gordon.
Oh, this is lovely.
Ooh, these'll make great spring arrangements.
Ew, guys, slow down.
I'm wearing my clompers.
Ah, welcome, everyone.
Make yourselves at home.
Hey, Piri, look at this flower I found.
Oh, uh-huh.
Oh, man, this'll go awesome in my Oh, your eyes moved over here, but that's okay.
I'll follow.
Tha that's that's great, Foo.
Excuse me.
[chuckles weakly.]
Hey, Harvey? Um, could I steal you for a second? You're not going anywhere.
I am killing it right now.
Piri, you might wanna come back in an hour.
This one's got the resilience of a horse.
[all laughing.]
Oh, yeah! [sighs.]
Here I go! I'm in! I wish everyone would go away and it was just me and Harvey.
[music.]
Whew, let's take five.
My arms are tired.
Oh, my.
These daisies are stunning.
[groaning.]
[dramatic music.]
Gordon, why in the name of Gaia would you do that? It's not nice to throw people around like [muffled speech.]
No, no, no, no.
Do not eat these plants.
Oh.
I think I understand.
Hey, anybody seen Dade? Uh, maybe he went to take a nap.
Well, that's weird.
Dade already had his nap today.
Ah! I need help! Princess, what's wrong? Ha, I lied.
I just wanted you to look at me.
[laughs.]
Watch me jump.
[laughs.]
[muffled grunts.]
[screaming, fire blazing.]
[explosion.]
Oh, how awful.
Fee, Foo, you two should go check on her.
Nah, I don't feel like it.
She's fine.
[music.]
Huh? [both scream.]
Oh, my gosh! What're you feeding these plants? Whee! It's trying to murder me! - Gordon, what're you doing?! - It's okay, Harvey.
[laughs weakly.]
He's just playing with them.
Hey, let's go have another tea party picnic.
Oof.
[grunts.]
- Both: Whoa! - Ha - Bye, guys! - Fee, Foo! [music.]
Um, this isn't so bad, right? We're in grave danger, Piri! Oh, no sugar, please.
[slurps.]
I think Gordon has gone crazy.
We gotta find a way to escape.
Or we could just spend some quality time together.
Oh, I know.
Let's share what our favorite color is.
Mine is innocent baby laughter.
Okay, here's my plan.
I'll distract Gordon with some playful knock-knock jokes, and then we'll make a run for it.
Ready? Hey, Gordon.
What do you call cheese that isn't yours? Nacho cheese! Okay, go! Whoa! [grunts.]
[squeaks.]
Huh? Wait! [music.]
[both grunt.]
[straining.]
Why is this happening? Okay, Gordon, that's enough.
Stop.
Hey, he listened to you.
Um, Gordon isn't trying to hurt us.
I may have improvised a song about some of my feelings and Gordon thinks he's helping.
What do you mean? What feelings? Uh, I I just feel different around you.
Like, butterflies in my stomach? Or a tapeworm.
I kind of told Gordon that I wanted to spend time with you - alone.
- Oh [music.]
But he didn't mean for all this to happen.
Oh, I'm so embarrassed.
[sighs.]
[soft upbeat music playing.]
He knows what I feel inside I can't believe I went and said it I could run and hide away Away Piri you don't have to cry The truth is always better than living a lie It's okay It's okay.
I totally get what you're saying.
Sometimes both my parents wanna hang out with me, but I just wanna spend time with Mom or watch a movie with Dad.
I guess that's the same thing.
Wanting to spend time alone with someone doesn't make you a bad person.
It's normal.
N nor norma norm-al mal.
Normal.
Next time, just tell me instead of trapping us in a magical garden.
That seems so simple.
Hey, I'm free! [cheerful music.]
- Uh, are we cool? - We're cool.
Both: # Okay lets go! # Kick up our heels! Let's jump and run And do cartwheels It's time to play Under the sun We'll be climbing trees And having fun And we both know the lyrics to this song somehow 'Cause we'll always have our friendship The way we do just now Are you guys sure it's safe to play here now? Harvey said Gordon attacked us before 'cause of feelings, but then I zoned out, and now we're here.
Hey, you guys, do you wanna play piñata with us? We're kind of doing our own thing over here.
We'll join you guys later.
- Okay! - Wait, what? No! [sticks whacking.]
[grunting.]
Wow, Piri.
I never noticed your aura before.
[playful music.]
[yawns.]
[sighs.]
Whoa.
[sighs.]
[both laugh.]
[music.]
[wind blows.]
Huh? [grunts.]
[groans.]
[music.]
[thunder rumbles.]
[sighs.]
[soft dramatic music.]
[funky soft dramatic music.]
- All: Wow! - Really amazing! - This is awesome.
- This is I don't even have words for this.
- Look.
- I am Johnny Tornado.
[explosion.]
My story takes place in a distant land.
Is it the future? The past? Either way, everything's dirty.
I patrol the wasteland looking for scrap metal so that I can finish building my awesome motorcycle, but wait danger is close.
A mighty creature threatens to attack two drifters.
We're tough, but we need to be tougher because this monster is super tough.
Whoa, for some reason, I really like that character.
I must protect them.
Johnny Tornado runs to the rescue.
But will he and his new friends survive? [growling.]
Survive! Well, you're gonna have to wait and see 'cause, um, the stories not over.
It's All: Whoa! How did this get made? Like, what type of machine made this? Rooter, it was created by an artist.
No, no, that can't be right.
Yeah, but who is this artist? They literally left us zero clues.
Hey, has anyone seen Kratz? Stop wasting time asking random, pointless questions.
We're trying to figure out who drew the comic.
Well, whoever they are, they're awesome.
Whom.
It's whomever they are, Foo.
Whomever they are, they're awesome.
Thank you, Harvey.
[exciting music.]
Thank you, all, for joining my monster-fighting team.
Now, let's kick some tail.
[music.]
A new comic! [all talking at once.]
It's amazing! Amazing! [music.]
I'm beginning to really like you, Commander Rocket.
Do you like me? I do, but only as friends.
Cool, that's totally fine, and it doesn't hurt my heart.
Hang in there, Johnny.
[both grunting.]
Johnny Tornado's got something for everyone.
I like the guy with the trident.
I came here to do two things: Kiss my parents and throw my trident.
And I've already kissed my parents.
[grunts.]
[snarling.]
- Ah.
- All: Wow.
Look out, team.
Everything's about to explode for no reason.
[explosion.]
[pencil scratching.]
[doorbell rings.]
Is that my doorbell? I've never actually heard it ring.
- Ah! - Hi, Kratz.
Wh what're you doing here? Well, I found some stuff over by the newest "Johnny Tornado" comic that I think might belong to you.
Uh I found your ink-stained library card, an assortment of pens and pencils, and an inappropriate science book.
Um, well, I can explain.
Hey, what if that mystery artist - is someone we know.
- Hmm, I wonder.
- Yo, Kratz! - Hi, Kratz! Hey, gu ah! Whoops, sorry! Harvey, a word? I need to tell you something.
Can you keep a secret? I got a few I'm taking to the grave.
Good 'cause I'm I'm the artist behind "Johnny Tornado.
" Wha? Kratz, that's so cool! Oh, my gosh.
You gotta tell everyone! No way, Harvey.
Don't you see? If people know I did it, they won't like it anymore.
I stink.
You're being too hard on yourself.
What if I told them for you? Harvey, no! Ah! [grunts.]
Please don't tell anyone.
What if I just told one person? How about no persons.
Please, Harvey.
Please? Promise you won't tell anyone.
Okay.
- Oh, my gosh, it's so cool! - What is that? [all talking at once.]
Mystery solved.
Who would have thought? - What's going on? - Didn't you guys hear? We found out who drew the comic.
Yo you did? Yeah! It was Princess! - There.
- Wow.
Both: Princess? You have to tell me what pens you use.
Did you really draw those freehand? - Princess is like a celebrity! - Yeah.
Who knew she was good at anything.
I love Johnny Tornado! Ew, who the heck's that? Tell me I'm great.
How can she take credit like that? This is an outrage! [sighs.]
I guess this was bound to happen.
Hey, mister, bag up that bad attitude and throw it away! This is your chance.
You gotta say something! No, no, no.
I can't! Hey, guys, I have an announcement to make! No, you promised.
What is it, Harvey? Uh, I just wanted to say, uh [sighs.]
I think reading is really fun.
Ugh, why do we even let him speak? [sighs.]
[soft music.]
Oh, Johnny Tornado, you'd know what to do.
You're darn right I do.
I know what to do and so do you.
- Wha? - Listen to me, Kratz.
I may be super heroic and crazy strong, but without you, I'm nothing.
Take a look in the mirror.
You are Kratz, creator of "Johnny Tornado," and that makes you a hero too.
Now, how are you gonna fix this problem? [exciting music.]
[all talking at once.]
Hey, it is I, the real comic [grunts.]
Anyway, as I was saying, I am the true artist of "Johnny Tornado," and you'll never figure out who I am so don't even try.
Oh, let's just figure out who's not here.
- Piri, Claire - Present.
No one knows.
Don't even try.
I challenge you to an art-off.
[all gasp.]
Whatever, let's do this.
All right, you two, I want a good, clean drawing contest.
No pencil jabs below the waistband and keep your eraser shavings to yourself.
On your marks [growls.]
Get set draw! [cheering.]
[music.]
[grunting.]
Hey, Mr.
Mystery.
How's it going? Oh, man, that is, like, super great.
All right, let's see what you're up to, Princess.
Uh, ugh.
Okay, definitely doesn't look as good as, uh, mystery boy's stuff over there [shouts.]
[grunting.]
Not cool, Princess! You know how I feel about pencil jabs.
Fine.
[music.]
[cheers and laughter.]
Good job, monster-fighting team.
We fought all the monsters as a team.
- All: Yay! - That's right team, we did! This is some primo stuff.
[grunts.]
[cheers.]
Hey, everyone, I'm stupid! I'm stupid too! Together: We're all stupid! - We're all stupid! - I'm so stupid! All: I'm so stupid! La, la, la, la, la! Hey, who is that beautiful girl over there? My name is Gorgeous Awesome-Muscles.
Now who wants to clean the crumbs out of my toes? Ooh, me! Please, I wanna do it! - Princess, I wanna do it! - Me! I don't know.
Princess's comic just doesn't seem as good as her earlier work.
Unless, Princess is lying about being the real artist.
Has she ever lied before? Yeah, quite a bit.
Let's compare hers with the mystery artist.
[all talking at once.]
[grunting.]
You! Time to figure out who the heck you are! No, no, wait.
Princess, this is very unsportsmanlike! No, no! [grunts.]
[all gasp.]
Ew, what the ugh, really? - It was Kratz? - Oh, I can't believe this.
[all talking at once.]
It turns out, it's stupid Kratz.
What do you think of your mystery artist now? Oh, man.
[all cheering.]
Your comic's awesome, Kratz! You the man! All: [cheering and chanting.]
Kratz! What? Nothing makes sense anymore! [grunts.]
My body is shutting down.
[victorious music.]
Wh whoa! Kratz, please sign my comic.
- Kratz, you're my inspiration.
- Do a little signature on it.
[laughing.]
Come on, I love you.
Aw, yeah, Kratz.
Sign my comic, man! [music.]
