Dancing in the Dark

1 Previously, on Andi Mack Andi: Bex had me watch this super scary movie last night.
A mother's number one job is to keep their child safe.
- Shh! - (screaming) What did you do? Wh What's going on? I got you a lesson, that's your present.
- No, no.
- Yeah! I love that you have groupies.
Why did you do this to me? Do what? What did I do? I'm not sure she's safe with you.
That is not your decision to make.
I'm her mother! Andi: She won't even let me eat a Toaster Tart.
I'm gonna have one right now.
Oh, no.
Don't.
I ran out.
This is my dad, isn't it? Say something.
Is this my dad? No.
Then who is it? Nobody.
You don't put nobody in a Toaster Tart box.
You told me that you took my dad's picture out, and then I find this picture that you hid.
Nobody is somebody.
Who is it? - (rips) - See? Nobody.
Oh, who wants pizza? I do.
That's very dramatic.
But now I know for a fact that he is somebody.
Because you bring up pizza every time you don't wanna answer my questions.
But it's not gonna work this time.
Except, now I'm hungry.
Half plain, half pepperoni? Extra cheese.
But next time it's not gonna work.
(theme music playing) I'm standing on the edge And everything I know-oh-oh Has blown away Life is upside down But any way it go-oh-oes I'll work it out Oh oh oh oh oh Here we go One, two, three! I'm ready for tomorrow Tomorrow starts today There ain't a map to follow But I'm with you all the way I'm ready for tomorrow Tomorrow starts today There ain't a map to follow But I'm with you all the way All the way You won't believe what just happened.
I ran into a glass door! Again? A different one.
Much more painful.
Then why are you so happy? Adrenaline and shock.
Which is starting to wear off.
Ow! That really hurts! It's sting-y! He ran into a glass door.
- Oh.
- (groans) They're all staring at you.
Actually, they're staring at you.
Oh, no.
What is it? Toilet paper? Toothpaste? Wardrobe malfunction? Is there a cliff-hanger? You're clean.
Um I don't know if this might be related, but I might've possibly mentioned to my mom about Bex being your mom.
- Cyrus? - You knew it was a secret! Look, it was hard enough for you just to tell us, and you shouldn't have to go through that over and over again.
People were gonna find out eventually.
But your mom is the biggest gossip.
She probably told everyone.
She definitely told everyone.
Sent out an email blast and boom! It's done.
The hard part is over! The hard part is just beginning.
I'm sorry, Andi.
Boy, is my face half red.
'Cause 'Cause I ran into the Never mind.
Oh, no.
Here comes Jonah.
Hey, guys.
What am I supposed to do? Where am I supposed to go? Earth, can you please just open up and swallow me? He's coming over.
- (sighs) Hi, Jonah.
- Hey.
Your-Your mom thing.
- You heard.
- Yeah.
- That's so awesome.
- It is? I'm so boring compared to you.
You're so not boring compared to everyone.
Can Can I take a selfie with you? Uh Yeah sure.
You're welcome.
- Celia! - Lillian.
You're very devoted to this color.
But I guess it's safer to just stick with what you know.
Get to the point, Lillian.
I see your older daughter is home.
Yes, she is.
Did I say older? I meant only.
I hear that little cutie with the Harry Potter haircut is actually her daughter, and not your late-in-life miracle baby.
I guess congratulations are in order.
Grandma.
(screaming) Watch out! Oh, dear! How did that happen? You're so petty! Oh! You got a spot on your everywhere! Customer.
Handle.
Hey.
What brings you here? - Jonah Beck knows.
- What? You know, about the thing? - Us? - (gasps) He said it was awesome! Oh.
Thank you, Jonah Beck.
Oh, so, you're not mad at me anymore, right? Well, I'm not mad at you right now.
I'll take it.
I can't believe you told him.
I didn't.
Cyrus told his mom, so now it's out.
Everyone knows.
Everyone? As in everyone? Yeah.
In fact, kids at school who never talked to me were all like, "Cool!" and "You're so brave!" Two of them even gave me numbers for their shrinks.
It's going straight to voice mail.
- Who are you calling? - Mom.
We gotta get home.
Brittany? Hi.
I have an emergency.
I know I've only been here a week, but I promise you, - I'll never ask this - Go.
- Really? - Yes.
Thank you! - Let's go.
- Okay.
Hey, guys.
Everything okay, Mom? What's with the luggage? Uh, we're gettin' away.
Your father seems to think I'm a menace to society.
Not society, just a 10-block radius.
What happened? Well, your mother engaged with a neighbor.
I was attacked.
And my garden hose only reaches so far.
Okay, uh we should get going.
I'm trusting you.
Thank you.
I don't want to, but your father's forcing me.
Well, kid it's just you and me.
We could do whatever we want.
You got any ideas? We could have dinner in the living room while we watch TV! And each have two desserts! Okay, yeah, we could do that.
But think bigger.
Scratch the dinner! We'll just have dessert! Okay, do you realize what just happened? Mom and Dad are gone! I'm in charge! Andi, don't you get it? We could have a party! I don't think this is a good idea.
Look, you're getting older, and there are some basic life skills you need to learn.
One of them is giving a party.
Will I get a merit badge? Yes.
As a matter of fact, you are fulfilling your responsibility to kids whose parents are not going out of town.
Ooh, look.
(laughing) Brittany.
Was this your emergency? You had to have a party? Kind of? I can explain.
Don't bother.
The whole mom thing? Crazy.
I just heard.
Was that that guy that used to come over when you were babysitting? What guy? There was no guy.
Is this her? - Hi! I'm Brittany.
- Andi.
(sighs) She's precious.
Those glasses over there, they're great.
We just got them in.
Ooh.
I love them.
And blacklight paint, obviously.
Uh-huh.
Here ya go.
A Ninja costume? Yeah.
Never hurts to have one on hand.
You're gonna need air freshener.
What do you think? I think it's gonna make a huge mess.
We'll take 20.
(sighs) Do I look okay? You look okay.
- You look amazing! - So do you! - (knocking on door) - Our first guests have arrived.
Door's open.
- Hello.
- Hello, hello.
Very groovy.
I approve-y.
We aren't the first ones here, are we? Oh, we're so lame! Who else is coming? Everybody who saw my post.
Also, I told my mom.
This is for my small-town girls Small-town girls in the big city Yeah, in the big city Do you see all these people? And you're the host.
Get out there! Andi Mack in the house, everybody.
Give it up for your girl! Go, Andi! Go, Andi! All: Go, Andi! Go, Andi! Go, Andi! Go, Andi! Go, Andi! Go, Andi! Go, Andi! This is a great party! Thanks.
It's my first one.
I see you there, Jonah Beck! Show me what you got! (laughs) Want to dance? Sure.
I was so shy, tongue-tied, hiding away Like a little wallflower, in the shadows I'd stay Now I'm all about steppin' out into the light Gonna make my mark and it's starting tonight Tonight, tonight Tonight is all mine This is my night This is my time It's all about me and my moment to shine For once in my life I'm gonna stand out 'Cause this is my night tonight Do I know you? I think you would know if you knew me.
What've you done that's so great that I would know you? What haven't I done? I'm going to say you haven't eaten a live frog.
Have you? Yes.
Why would you eat a live frog? He mouthed off.
You never ate a frog.
Of course not.
You're just making this conversation very difficult.
I'm just here for the cheese puffs.
But you're staying for the witty banter.
When does that start? In a minute, over there, with someone else? Buffy.
Marty.
Catch you later.
Hey.
Who was that kid you were talkin' to? Uh I don't remember his name.
I was too busy one-upping him.
Conversation is not a competition sport, Buffy.
Maybe not yet, but the night is young and so am I.
(laughs) I'm getting so good at this! Hey! I think people are having fun.
They are! I'm throwing a fun party! Go you! Pow! Can't tell me nothin' when I'm on the floor When I walk by, they feel like there she goes Ooh, I know they love it when I lose control Keep on watching, baby, let me rub it in some more Ugh! Why does she have to be here? You know what? She shouldn't be.
I'm gonna ask her to leave.
You are? Yeah.
No, I only talk a good game.
She terrifies me.
Catch me on the floor sitting way up high I don't really care what you say, I own what's mine - ( cheering) - Party plan, push that system Bring the heat so the whole world listens Ugh! She's coming over.
I don't wanna talk to her.
Oh.
Hi, Amber! Hi, Andi.
Great party.
Thanks.
Glad you could make it.
I love my new bracelet.
Jonah tells me you made it.
You're so talented.
I'm sorry, I have to say something.
We don't know each other - You're Cyrus, right? - Yes.
I don't know.
Why? My friend thinks you're cute.
She wants to meet you.
I'll introduce you.
Did you smell that? Something stinks in here.
If only we had air freshener.
Gang way, everybody! Party Party plan, push that system Bring the heat so the whole world listens Oh! With you to the end I wanna know That you're here to the end To the end Yeah Uh! (cheering) - Andi! - All: Andi! Andi! Andi! Andi! Andi! Andi! Andi! Andi! Andi! Andi! Andi! And let's not forget about Andi's new mom! All: Bex! Bex! Bex! Bex! Bex! Bex! Bex! Bex! Bex! And what about Andi's new dad? Is he here? We'd love to meet him, too.
(murmuring) (mouths) Go.
(thuds) (running footsteps) (cheering) Why did you do that? What did I do? Hey.
Hey.
Feel like some company? No.
That girl has no boundaries.
What kind of person thinks it's okay to come out and ask an intensely personal question like that? Me.
I do it to you all the time.
Are you ever gonna tell me who my dad is? Of course.
Oh.
Like right now? Why not? Are you planning to go back to the party? Because I'm not.
And I don't really want any pizza.
(door opens) Cyrus: Andi! Bex! Cyrus? Your parents are here.
What? They just pulled up in the driveway.
Celia: Everybody out! Update, they're inside the house.
Go! Go! I hope you got that.
- We did.
- Yes.
That was scary.
I've never seen her that angry.
You know what's scarier? Neither have I.
We should probably clean up.
Don't worry.
Whatever happens, you're not in trouble.
I'll make it clear that you were against this party the whole time.
Except that's not true.
I want people to think it was my party.
Because it was a great one.
Thank you.
It was my pleasure.
Hey, Dad, sorry we ruined your vacation.
Doesn't matter.
Just the first one in 13 years.
Why'd you come home? We got a call from the Neighborhood Watch.
They were very concerned.
They'd never heard anything resembling the sound of parties coming from our house before.
Hey, why don't you go to bed, and I'll help Bex clean up.
It's okay.
Go.
Okay.
Sorry, Pops.
I'm just glad somebody had fun.
We are gonna have that conversation, right? The one we started outside? Yes.
Do you promise? I promise.
Okay.
Good night.
(sighs) What's she talkin' about? What conversation? She wants to know who her father is.
She won't stop asking me.
What am I supposed to tell her? The truth? I'm just not sure how many more life-altering blows she can handle.
"Hi, I'm your mom.
" Followed by "Your dad doesn't even know you exist.
" He knows.
What's that? Andi's father.
He knows she exists.
Who told him? I did.
Next, on Andi Mack Andi: Why is it so hard to stop liking someone when there's a zero percent chance he'll ever like you back? Dude, Iris likes you.
That's great.
Who's Iris? You're going on a double date? Not a date.
- Cyrus? - Iris? (both laugh) It's a hang.
I think you're in trouble.
Why? What'd you do? You are not going to believe this.
Whoa.
Is that her?
