Beauty and the Beast (2012) s02e06 Episode Script

Father Knows Best

Previously, on Beauty & the Beast Vincent! Don't shoot! She's my daughter.
Come on, damn it.
I need you alive.
All I know is that this worked once.
Yeah, but you had to die first.
The beast in me had to die, which allowed you to save my human side.
Muirfield weaponized people.
That's what that organization was about.
Vincent did say they wiped his memory to make him a better soldier.
Look, I know they're just flashes, but I do, Catherine, I remember you.
These memories, they just keep coming and coming.
REYNOLDS We're almost there.
Just a couple more Muirfield experiments to take out and then you're done.
I've been trying to help Detective Chandler find her birth father.
Ms.
Chandler I'm Bob Reynolds.
Why is Agent Reynolds at my graduation? I think I just found my birth father.
You got it wrong, but I love you You're kind of rough, but I love you We get along and I love you Nice kick.
I hope that's not me you're taking it out on.
No, lucky for you there is a new man in my life who is driving me crazy.
Can I have my leg back, please? Uh-huh.
Thank you.
Your dad? Okay, Agent Reynolds is not my dad.
He is my biological father.
There is a difference.
Okay, so does he know that you know? No, and I'm not sure I'm gonna tell him.
I mean, I am a grown woman.
Life goes on.
Besides, there are other things that I need to worry about.
Rotate your hip, you'll have more force.
Come on, try it on me.
It's okay.
It's fine.
Better.
Come on.
I'm just saying, maybe I should leave well enough alone, you know? I mean, if he really wanted a relationship, he wouldn't be lurking around.
He would be honest, tell me who he really is.
He'd explain why he has never wanted to be a part of my life.
Oh.
I'm sorry okay, are you okay? I'm fine.
Nice nice rotation.
I'll get you ice.
No.
I'm-I'm good.
I'm good.
In fact, uh I couldn't be better.
I am sweaty.
I know, but did we ever celebrate something special on your rooftop? Our anniversary? Yeah, but Okay, did we kiss at a ball or something? I mean, did I ever wear a tux? Yes.
I, uh, pull you out of some wrecked car? Held hands in the subway? You're getting your memories back.
Our memories.
Good, because at first I thought they were just dreams, and then I knew it had to be more than that.
I wanted to make sure.
Now I'm really sorry that I kicked you.
It's fine.
You know what? I have some even better news.
I just spoke to my contact, and he says that I only have two more missions left, and then I am done; I am free.
Wait, really? Yeah.
And you know what we're gonna do to celebrate? We are gonna go away, just the two of us, to Cedar Woods, under the stars, a bottle of wine, nobody around What's wrong? But you still have to kill two people, right? Two beasts.
Who are still people.
Vincent, I get it.
I do.
The beasts that you've taken out already, they're bad, they were hurting innocent people.
But I'm also a cop.
It's hard for me to get excited about you being judge, jury and executioner all the time.
Doesn't it bother you? More than before, yeah.
That's because you're getting your humanity back, I hope, and if that's true, then that really is something to celebrate.
And we will.
Okay? We will, I promise.
As soon as I finish these missions, and as soon as you talk to your father.
After all, you went looking for him for a reason, right? Wow.
Obsess much? Close the door.
Catherine just called.
Said Vincent only has two missions left.
That's not a good thing? No, it's a bad thing.
JT just dropped off all of his old Muirfield research before he left for his retreat.
I need you to cross-reference them with all of the research I did when I was a beast.
See if any of the names match.
What are we looking for? Vincent's handler.
Whoever is sending him on these missions is somehow able to identify which beasts are out there.
He must've had knowledge of Muirfield experiments.
I'm sorry, I'm still not clear as to why it's bad that he only has two missions.
Because if I'm right, the last mission could very well be Vincent.
Look, he was clearly tasked with cleaning up Muirfield's loose ends so far, right? Eliminate every beast.
Including Vincent.
Exactly.
Did you tell Cat? She's got enough to worry about without thinking about this.
I suppose that also means you haven't told her you like her yet, either, right? What? I'm sorry, it's the big fat elephant in the room.
I mean, why don't you just tell Cat? You know, especially if this whole Vincent thing blows up, she might need to know that you're there for her.
If it blows up, I will deal with it then, all right? But right now, all that matters is I do everything I can to save Vincent for her.
That's very honorable.
It sucks, but it's honorable.
Condor.
You alone? Yes, sir, I am.
I don't have as much intel as I'd like, but you only have a small window, so we have to move.
Target's name is Curt Windsor.
Windsor? That's the problem.
It's like taking down Trump or Bloomberg-- people tend to notice.
Are you sure he's a beast? First generation.
Invested in Muirfield volunteered for the first experiments-- we think because he wanted to get even with a rival, take him out.
Instead, the strain lay dormant in his system until three years ago.
That's when a lot of his rivals started dying, viciously.
Okay, so why three years ago? What triggered it? I don't know, but he's only been getting more paranoid since his ex-wife died, especially about his daughter, Tori.
They're always surrounded by bodyguards.
But every night at 0100, Tori turns off the alarm, sneaks out onto the balcony.
That's your in.
No messing around, Keller.
He's too high-profile, there are too many unknowns, especially when it comes to his powers.
Get in, eliminate him, get out.
Understood.
And, sir after this, there's just one more mission, right? Sir? Correct.
Detective Chandler to what do I owe the pleasure? Detective Chandler? I'm sorry.
Sorry, I am late for work, uh, but I was hoping that we could meet tomorrow for coffee, or-or something, so we can, you know, talk.
About? About why you've been hiding the truth from me Dad.
Yeah.
Thank you.
Who are you? How'd you get in? Tori! Daddy? You let him in?! Help, somebody, please help So, you come here often? Yeah, uh, I live around the corner.
Alone? I'm surprised you don't know, considering you've obviously been hiding in plain sight this entire time.
Why didn't you just come right out and tell me who you were? I wanted to, but especially last month, at Thomas's tribute, but I also didn't want to complicate your life.
I figured if you wanted to find me, you would, and you did.
And I'm glad you did.
Still, it never stopped me from From what? From, you know, keeping an eye on you every once in a while.
Making sure you were okay.
By, uh, spying on me? I wasn't spying on you.
I honored your privacy exactly the way your mother asked me to.
But high school graduation, college Nah, I couldn't miss that.
So what are you saying my mom told you to stay away from me? Look, I am not going to disparage your mother.
Good, then don't.
Vanessa had her own reasons for not telling you about me, mostly to protect your relationship with Thomas.
Look, we were young when we met, fell madly in love.
She was at a biotech firm, I was the FBI liaison.
So you had a fling and had me.
It was more than just a fling.
But we didn't know she was pregnant until after we broke up.
By then, she'd met Thomas.
He adopted you, and they asked me to honor that.
You didn't fight it? I felt like that there was enough fighting going on between your mother and I at the time, and I told Vanessa that when you turned 18, I was coming back into your life, but And then she died.
And I didn't want to make it look like I was trying to take advantage of that, so So here we are.
But I want you to know that I'm here for you now.
And you can ask me anything you want.
What do you know about Muirfield? I know that's who your mother was working for when I met her.
I also know they're the ones who killed her.
Anything else? No.
I'm sorry.
I have to go.
I gotta go.
Duty calls.
You know, I don't want to push myself on you, so you tell me if you want to meet again, okay? Okay.
Thank you.
Okay.
You know, I'm the only one who can fill in the blanks, I mean, you know, about your past.
And if you let me, maybe you won't make the same mistake your mother did and fall in love with a lost cause.
What the hell happened? I'll tell you what happened.
Windsor is far more powerful than you made him out to be.
And with all due respect, sir, your intel kind of sucks.
That's not possible; he's first generation.
He's more than that-- he-he sensed me coming, and I barely even got out of there.
But kidnapping his daughter was a huge mistake.
It's all over the news.
I didn't kidnap her.
I saved her, okay? She was gonna get hurt.
His daughter? Why? I don't know.
Maybe 'cause it's the first time that she saw that he was a beast.
Did she see you, too? Yeah.
This is not like you, Keller, this is messy.
What am I supposed to do with her now? You know what? I don't know.
Why do you think I'm calling you? Based on everything we know about Windsor, he will stop at nothing until his daughter's back under his control.
Right, which makes her leverage.
But it also makes you a target.
If he sensed you once, he can do it again.
You gotta get her out of there, fast.
Hide.
Okay, understood.
How will you contact me? Don't worry.
I'll find a way.
I'm not 100% sure Windsor's a beast, but his name came up as a strong possibility.
Okay, but why do we care? Because if he is a beast, he could be one of the last two on the list.
Or the last one.
Point is, we're trying to figure out who Vincent's handler is, and thought maybe Windsor might be Vincent's next mission.
Okay.
But according to this, Windsor was experimented on almost 30 years ago.
If he is a beast, what took him so long to gestate? It's a good question, especially since that's about the same time I was experimented on and I reacted immediately.
Maybe it's different 'cause Windsor was an adult at the time? It's gotta be something else, and relatively recent, too.
The fact that Windsor's name popped up, and now the kidnapping, something is going on, and we need to figure out what.
Do you know if Vincent's on a mission now? Yeah, I think he is.
Any chance you could find out if this is it? Wait-- do you think Vincent kidnapped Tori Windsor? Yes.
No.
Look, I'm just trying to connect some dots here, and right now, I'm not just concerned about Vincent, I'm also concerned about Tori.
Vincent? This better be Tori's.
There's no sign of them.
They were here.
I know it.
Take anything that might help us figure out who this guy is, where he's got Tori.
Then after we get my daughter back, I'm gonna tear this guy to shreds.
Do you have any idea where Vincent is? No, but fortunately, neither does Windsor.
Although he does seem to have a way of tracking him.
You mean, like beast on beast? I don't know.
But something must've gone wrong, otherwise, Vincent never would've taken Tori.
Unless he's using her as leverage to get to Windsor.
I'm just saying, it's sound strategy.
I am the last to condone Vincent's missions, but at least it's always been saving innocent people, and that is Tori.
So, you think he was rescuing her from her father.
Who's a beast.
But still her father.
Tess, I know you've been on an anti-Vincent kick lately No, I haven't.
I just want what's best for you.
And that's still Vincent.
He's getting better, too.
It's not just that he's getting his memory back, but he's more I don't know, himself again.
He wants this to be over with, he wants us back.
He's not a lost cause.
Who said he was? Catherine? Tess? I heard about the houseboat.
Are you all right? Sure, other than whatever drug-resistant bug I probably picked up in the Hudson.
I think Vincent's in trouble, and I think that's why he took Tori.
How many guards did Windsor have? I don't know; half-dozen or so.
It's one thing for Vincent to take on another beast, it's another thing for him to take on a small army.
He isn't bulletproof.
What does a beast even need armed guards for? That's just one of the many unknowns about Windsor.
He's a wild card.
But we may have an ace.
One that, if we find Vincent before Windsor could save both of them.
Please don't tell me you're gonna pitch the flatlining thing again.
Actually, I am.
Look, I know it didn't work with the arsonist beast, but it worked on me, right? And since Windsor was experimented on with the same strain I was, it stands to reason If it worked on you, it might actually work on him.
Exactly.
Oh, yeah.
"Hey, Curt, would you mind "beasting out so we can kill you? "And then after you flatline, "we may or may not be able to, you know, shock your human side back to life?" I'm sure he'll go for that.
It's the only way to get his daughter back.
Oh, so now Tori is leverage.
If it saves everybody, yeah, she is.
God forbid we actually help Vincent complete one of his mission without him having to kill somebody first.
But I have to find him.
How are you gonna do that? Figure out how Windsor's trying to do it.
Help! Somebody hear me?! Anybody? You're wasting your breath.
There's no one around for miles.
I thought you left me.
Why would I save you just to leave you? You didn't save me, you kidnapped me from my father.
You know what? Let me ask you a question.
Is that the first time that you've seen your father change like that? From the way that you reacted, I would say that was the first, am I right? Please don't hurt me.
Tori, why would I hurt you? Because I saw you, too.
I don't, I don't understand.
You won't at least not at first.
Look, trust me.
I didn't find it easy either, okay? I still don't.
But understand this: I am nothing like your father.
He killed innocent people for money and power.
That is why he is targeted.
You should be thanking me.
Thanking you? For what? For getting you away from him, from the way that he treats you.
He treats me fine! He takes care of me, protects me.
No, he cages you.
Let me guess: He doesn't let you out of his sight, right? You know, he would've choked you to death if I hadn't have stopped him.
What are you doing? Making sure I'm ready this time if he comes looking for you.
What are you? Look, Tori, I didn't ask for this to happen to me, okay? But your father, he did.
He wanted this, but now he's out of control and he needs to be stopped.
All right, listen to me.
He's not just hurting other people, okay? He is hurting you, too, and I know that you know it.
He may have hidden his face, but obviously not his heart, huh? I can prove it if you'll let me.
Right now.
You gotta trust me, okay? It might sting a little bit.
What? What is that? It's a tracking device.
You had surgery lately? Your father would've had it put in then.
But why? I don't know.
He's got a lot of enemies.
From all accounts, your father's gotten a little paranoid lately.
Tori, people like us, we either get better or worse.
No status quo.
But how did you know? 'Cause I heard it transmitting.
It's nice and quiet out here.
But you didn't take it out until just now.
No.
Because I want your father to find you.
So I can kill him.
Catherine! Hi! Catherine I-I'm sorry, do you still want me to call you Detective Chandler? No, uh, Catherine's fine.
What are you doing here? I was about to ask you the same question.
Uh, Tori's still missing.
It's my jurisdiction.
Thought I'd help out if that's okay.
Absolutely.
I-I was just waiting for, uh, Windsor to come down, maybe catch him off guard.
But why don't we go up there and talk to him together? What do you mean "catch him off guard"? I don't know, I've been doing this a long time.
There's something that just doesn't feel right about the guy, I guess.
I-I can't quite put my finger on it.
Because he's not asking for FBI help? Partly, yeah.
Partly 'cause every bone in my body is telling me he's a bad guy, and I don't trust him.
The only thing that matters right now is finding Tori, and catching whoever's responsible, right? That's why I'm here.
Great.
Well, let's team up.
See if Windsor's hiding something.
Maybe we can appeal to him as father/daughter.
Maybe we should just stick to good cop/bad cop for now if that's okay.
Mr.
Windsor in? How much money is too much money? Well, when you're constantly paranoid that you're gonna lose your daughter Speaking of boyfriends.
Who was speaking about boyfriends? I was just about to.
Am I allowed to ask if you have one? I do.
Is he good to you? Yes, he is.
Very good.
And do you trust him? I'm sorry I'm not allowed to ask.
I know.
It's just, um, I hope he makes you happy.
And that you can always count on him to be there for you.
Can I help you? Mr.
Windsor.
I'm Agent Reynolds of the FBI.
This is Detective Chandler.
I know who you are.
And as I told the other agents, I don't need your help.
I can find Tori on my own.
How? Let's just say I prefer private security over government.
Mr.
Windsor, you're aware that kidnapping's a crime, right? Which is why we're here.
So if you have any information You people.
You've been after me for years.
Trying to tear me down, prove I'm some sort of criminal.
Look, Mr.
Windsor.
I don't give a crap how you made your millions.
You can keep them.
The only thing I care about is getting your daughter back because that's all that matters.
Do you understand that? Now, I can run you downtown for obstruction of justice if I want to, so if I were you, - I'd start cooperating.
- Or, I can make one phone call and have you in the unemployment line.
Cedar Woods.
We're your best chance of finding her, Mr.
Windsor.
The FBI couldn't find its nose in a mirror.
I have to take this.
Catherine, wait! I still can't believe this is happening.
My mom tried to warn me about my dad before she died, but I had no idea this is what she meant.
How could I? You couldn't.
Tori, most of us live secret lives.
We don't have a choice.
Sometimes we can't even be honest with the people closest to us.
What kind of life is that? A lonely one.
Unless you're lucky enough to have someone special in your life to keep you sane.
Do you have somebody like that? Yeah.
Lucky you.
What am I gonna do? It'll be all right, okay? Go, go.
What are you doing here? Wondering what you're doing here.
They hiked back down the trail to a car.
But there were three tracks, not just two.
Somebody warned them we were coming.
He knew we were coming.
And he knew how long it would take us to find him.
What do you think he wants? He wants me.
And I want my daughter back.
Our friend's out of town.
They won't look for you here.
Maybe I should just call my father.
M-Maybe I can just talk to him.
Yeah, fine with me.
Not fine with me.
What's the matter with you? Do you want him to trace that call? Yeah.
We can lure him.
Catherine, why do you think I set those traps? I had the advantage out there.
Windsor wasn't coming alone, Vincent, and you weren't trying to trap him, you were trying to spear him.
So much for getting your humanity coming back, huh? I'm so sorry.
This is all my fault.
No, it isn't.
Yes, it is.
I should've said something, done something a long time ago when I first knew something wasn't right.
He just, he started getting so angry crazy angry.
But then he'd apologize with gifts and clothes.
Whatever I wanted, he'd give to me.
Listen to me, Tori.
I know what you're going through.
I do.
Maybe not about what your dad has done.
But about beasts.
I was younger than you when I first found out.
When Vincent saved my life, and I didn't believe it at first.
I couldn't.
And it's a lot to absorb.
You feel alone.
You can't talk to anyone about it.
But I'm telling you, you can, you can talk to me.
You aren't alone.
Thank you.
He told me the only reason he's not as bad as my father is that he's got someone special.
That's you, right? Yeah.
But it's not easy, I'm not gonna lie.
They go through a lot being the way they are.
Even the good ones.
But don't you worry that he'll ever change? I mean, like my father? All the time.
Okay.
So, what are we gonna do? Can't just sit here all day.
We need a plan.
What do you have in mind? What do you think? I think we should do everything we can to try and save her father.
What? What's gotten into you? This isn't like you-- at least not lately; not before this happened.
Gabe has an idea.
Oh, let me guess-- hmm flatlining? Ah, give me a break.
"Flatlining"? It's complicated.
And it's not without its risks, but for a variety of reasons, it might actually kill the beast in your father.
Catherine, he's too far gone.
Okay? He likes being a beast.
And everything that it gives him.
I don't believe that.
I do.
Vincent's right.
He won't give up what it gives to him.
Even for you? When's the last time you heard from her? Sorry, are you asking as a special agent or as a concerned father? Both.
Did you know she was going to see Windsor? How do you know she was going there? Because I was there, too.
We were interviewing him together, all of a sudden, she takes off, and nobody's heard from her since.
She didn't say where she was going? Obviously not, or I wouldn't be here, would I? Look I'm sorry; I know you care about Catherine.
I do.
I'm worried about her.
And I don't trust Windsor, and I don't like not being in control of a situation.
Neither does your daughter.
Look, I got to go.
But I will call you if I hear anything, I promise.
Okay? And don't worry.
If I know Catherine, she's perfectly in control.
How bad do you want your daughter back? You either very brave, or very stupid.
Well, I'm not stupid.
Okay, I'll play along.
What are you offering? I already told you.
Tori.
In exchange for what? The beast in you.
I'm sorry, the what? Don't waste my time.
I'm in a hurry and so are you.
I know who you really are.
Or, rather, what you are.
And I'm giving you exactly two minutes to decide what's more important to you, your daughter or staying a beast.
You're working with the other one, aren't you? The one who kidnapped Tori.
Rescued her, actually.
From you.
Is that right? Yeah.
And even though she knows what you really are now, she's willing to come back.
Under one condition.
I give it all up.
Yup.
Humor me.
How would that work, exactly? You'd have to die.
Your beast, anyway.
And once you were dead, we paddle your corpse, try and restart your human heart.
Probably won't work, but what other option do you have, really? Hmm.
I could kill you.
You would never get to see Tori again.
Ever.
And we both know how much she means to you.
One minute.
I don't need a minute.
The answer's no.
I can find Tori myself.
Fine.
In that case, I have no choice but to expose you, tell the world who you are and how you really built this empire.
You're bluffing.
Am I? You'd be exposing your friend, too.
Or is it your boyfriend? You're the one who warned him I was coming, aren't you? How'd you figure it out? I know my beasts.
Time's up.
You really think I'm just gonna let you walk out of here? Yes.
Because if I don't show up in 15 minutes, my friends are going to ruin you.
Plus, you will never see your daughter again.
Who's that? That is Gabe.
He's gonna kill you.
You're enjoying this, aren't you? A little.
But lucky for you, I'm in a "father-daughter reunion" kind of a mood.
Don't ask me why.
On the table, please.
How do you know this is going to work? I don't.
On the other hand, it worked on me, and me and you have the same Muirfield strain-- so hands in the cuffs.
In case you're wondering, these are alloy steel and titanium.
So if it does work what, I go to prison, pay for my crimes? Something like that.
At least your daughter can visit you there.
It's better than the alternative.
Unless I die.
Still, better than the alternative.
Then I want to see Tori first.
In case.
Okay.
Vincent.
Daddy.
I'm so sorry, sweetheart.
I never meant to hurt you.
It's okay.
It's gonna be all right.
If not know how much I love you.
How much I need you.
Okay, let's do this.
Yes.
Let's.
Gabe? Morning, Frankie.
Uh, could I get a Nonfat café Americano? Double shot, right? Are you staking me out? Well, you said you lived around here-- I thought I'd take a chance.
Here you go.
I was worried about you.
Why? Because one minute we're interviewing Windsor together, the next you're racing off, and since I hadn't heard from you I can take care of myself.
What? Aw, nothing.
It's just, uh your mother used to say that to me all the time.
You remind me a lot of Vanessa.
Especially in the eyes.
She had a good heart, too.
Strong sense of right and wrong.
How do you know I do? Well, you're a cop, aren't you? So, where did you race off to? I was hoping you'd trust me.
It's gonna take more than a cup of coffee for that.
But it's a start.
Well, at least Tori's safe.
Wonder if we'll ever catch her kidnapper.
Who knows? So, what do you think happened? I think Windsor made a big mistake thinking he could handle it on his own.
He obviously didn't realize who he was up against.
Obviously.
Still, it's a pretty gruesome way to die.
I wonder what kind of animal would do that to someone.
What do you mean he ripped his heart out? I mean exactly that.
Wh-What did Cat do? What could she do? She was as shocked as anyone.
He didn't even give us a chance to try and save Windsor.
It sounds like Vincent just took a huge step backwards.
I know.
That's what has me worried.
It's gonna be hard to save him if he can't save himself.
You still think he's the last beast on the list? I'm not sure.
If he is, he's running out of time, too.
You sure you don't want to try kickboxing? It's more cathartic.
Maybe I will.
You okay? Me? I'm more worried about you.
Do you want to talk about it? Vincent, what happened last night? What what made you do that? I don't know.
Windsor surprised me.
Okay? I still don't know how he even broke free.
It just, it happened fast.
I felt this sudden surge of energy and then rage, and I reacted, okay? You know, he was trying to kill me.
Absolutely.
Still You're worried it means I'm getting worse.
I didn't say that.
But you're thinking it.
I saw the look on your face afterward.
You were scared of me.
I was shocked.
And then confused, because I-I don't know where that came from.
And it's pretty much the opposite of Getting my humanity back.
Vincent, listen whatever's going on with you, it isn't an exact science, and we both know that.
Two steps forward, one step back.
It's okay.
As long as you're at least trying to go forward.
Just one more mission, right? Then it's just you and me again.
Yup.
Lean on me I just wish I knew what triggered it.
Lean on me You can always lean on me.
