Designated Survivor: 60 Days (2019) s01e16 Episode Script

The Last Choice

ALL CHARACTERS, ORGANIZATIONS, PLACES AND EVENTS ARE FICTIONAL Then keep your promise.
The VIP.
Who is the mastermind behind the attack? The VIP is The VIP is me.
What did he say? It's me.
It's no one else.
It's me, the person sitting in front of you.
Are you saying that you single-handedly came up with the Assembly Building bombing and put it into action? I was against President Yang's policy toward North Korea and planned it.
I disapproved of his economic policy and funded it.
I despised him for compromising with reality and took part in the bombing.
President Yang's government wasn't welcome anywhere.
Also, this nation created numerous people that wanted to get revenge.
Those people willingly turned my plan into reality.
However, the plan wouldn't have been complete if you weren't there at the beginning and end of the attack, President Park.
Park Mu-jin.
You helped complete the attack.
President Park's press conference is at 2 p.
m.
tomorrow, right? Yes.
His term will end in a day, 24 hours to be exact.
The press conference tomorrow may be about his resignation, but it's actually to announce his candidacy.
He stopped the coup and succeeded in arresting the key suspect for the bombing.
It's a relief he produced tangible results at the end of his term.
I hope it affects his ratings.
Secretary Cha.
We have today's approval ratings of the presidential candidates How does it look? It's 11 percent.
Well, it's okay.
We can work harder during the official campaign period.
How much harder do we have to work? President Park is 11 percent ahead of Assemblywoman Yun, becoming the most popular candidate once again.
When people found out he was working with her, the approval rating seemed to have gone up for his leadership.
Goodness.
I thought his approval rating was 11 percent.
Secretary Cha, you don't look surprised at all.
You didn't even flinch.
Are you even human? You both should hire lawyers.
I'm going to sue you for attempted murder by gross negligence.
You almost gave me a heart attack.
Now he totally seems human.
Did the president see the result? No.
He hasn't returned yet.
Did he go somewhere? I thought he didn't have anything scheduled for this afternoon.
What do you mean? How did I help complete the attack? It looks like you didn't see this coming when you're the biggest beneficiary of the bombing.
You said you're the VIP.
Then do you mean you used me to complete the plan? I have never seen you before.
The bombing didn't just occur because of the person that planned it.
Someone who knew it would happen, but overlooked it, is also responsible.
That person completed the attack through you.
Who is this person? A pardon.
I want you to promise me a pardon.
Then I'll tell you who it is.
I'll tell you who completed the bombing through you.
DAY 31: THE LAST CHOICE EPISODE 16 Can I grant him a pardon? Yes, according to the 79th Amendment, we could claim the lack of the right of arraignment.
However, the problem is that only the president has the authority to grant a pardon.
You only have a day left and the election is in a month.
Although you are currently the leading candidate My promise could be meaningless right now.
Even if it is legally possible, would it be the right choice? The bombing caused over 300 casualties.
People were hurt beyond imagination.
How could he ask for a pardon? He can never be forgiven.
I think we could grant him a pardon if we could learn the truth about the bombing.
We should leave a precise record in history on who and why such a tragic attack occurred.
I agree.
If you can figure out the whole story behind the attack, you should grant the pardon.
If Mr.
Kim starts talking today, you will have figured out the truth about the attack during your term, sir.
I'm sure it'll be helpful for the election.
What do you think, Secretary Han? I'm against it.
The national sentiment will be against granting the pardon.
With the election coming up, it is dangerous to make a choice contrary to the national sentiment.
More than anything, Mayor Kang and Assemblywoman Yun will bring the pardon up for their campaign.
They'll use legal terms and call it an abuse of authority.
They will try to cause controversy during the election.
You shouldn't look forward to a pardon, since the election is coming up.
The leading candidate, as you should know, won't make decisions that will affect his approval rating.
President Park only has a day left in his term and you're locked up here.
There is no reason for President Park to rush to pardon you.
So from now on, whether you confess or put a deal on the table, you should talk to me.
If I can't settle it legally, can't I settle it politically? What could President Park be up to? He wants to see me as a candidate, not the mayor of Seoul.
He said he'd meet us as a presidential candidate, not the president as well.
I'm sure he has a reason.
You want our consent for a pardon? Only the president has the right to grant a pardon.
Through the presidential election in a month, one of us will probably become president.
Whoever becomes president, if you promise Mr.
Kim a pardon, he will start talking about the truth behind the bombing.
You want him to talk, but stop us from talking.
Since the three presidential candidates agreed to it, you don't want us using it in our presidential campaign.
Will you agree to it? Wait a minute.
This places a heavy weight on our shoulders politically.
This isn't an amnesty for a political prisoner.
He's a heinous bomber.
Why should we cut him a deal under our names? Because this bombing didn't begin from the spite of one evil person.
What's more important than convicting him is to uncover the truth of the bombing.
Isn't it our responsibility to find out? AGREEMEN This will get Mr.
Kim talking.
I'll make him talk, since we have this agreement.
I hope you do.
Answer me.
What do you mean President Park completed the bombing? Why? What is it? What is it? Damn it.
Call an ambulance immediately! - I'll go with him.
- Okay.
We're going too.
Follow us.
Let's go.
Could Mr.
Kim have had a chronic heart disease? Why is he suddenly having heart problems? It seems weird.
He'll wake up soon.
What is going on? Turn the car around! Ji-won? We lost the ambulance.
Find out where it is.
Yes, we're at the traffic light at the fork.
Wait.
My gosh.
Do you not know how to drive? The ambulance Move it.
Move your car now! I can't locate it.
- I don't see it.
- Move your car immediately.
A helicopter will be here soon.
Show me your hands! Don't move! There's a location Mr.
Kim used for a rendezvous nearby.
It's where he met Oh Yeong-seok.
Where is it? Mr.
Kim! He's dead.
PARK MU-JIN, KIM SANG-GU, YUN CHAN-GYEONG AGREEMENT FOR PARDON Mr.
Kim was the biggest lead we had on the mastermind.
Someone silenced him.
The accomplice in the Blue House must be someone that's more deeply involved with the government than we think.
It doesn't matter who it is.
The important thing is for us to find a lead on Mr.
Kim's killer before the press conference.
Catching Mr.
Kim alive is your biggest achievement during your term, sir.
Mr.
Kang.
Yes? Tell the NIS agents to report to the Blue House as soon as they find a lead.
Is he still pleading the Fifth? Mr.
Kim was given a drug for cardiac arrest to get him out of the interrogation room.
That agent's confidential files show that he was a spy sent to the North at the same time as Mr.
Kim.
Why is he abusing skills he obtained through work? So are you saying he tried to help Mr.
Kim run away, since they got through a life-or-death situation together? This is from a CCTV near the location where Mr.
Kim was shot.
That face.
It's Tae-ik, I mean Lee Gyeong-pyo.
Did Lee Gyeong-pyo betray Mr.
Kim, the VIP? Why? Someone wanted to help Mr.
Kim run away from the NIS and someone wanted to silence him forever.
What could Mr.
Kim's relationship with them be? The bombing didn't just occur because of the person that planned it.
Someone who knew it would happen, but overlooked it, is also responsible.
That person completed the attack through you.
AGREEMENT FOR PARDON My report with a warning on a possible attack was systematically buried in the NIS as well as in the Blue House.
Then, are you saying the person who handed this top secret file over to those behind the attack was part of the Yang administration? Up until now, we only thought of the accomplice in the Blue House as the person who handed the OP file over to the bomber.
That's right.
If someone overlooked the bombing even when he knew about it and covered up the warning against the attack, wouldn't he be the accomplice in the Blue House? That means If you were Agent Kim Jun-o and learned about the attack, whom in the Blue House would you report to? This is Kang Dae-han of the security team.
Is it possible to get a list of the phone numbers that called the security team during the week before the bombing? SPEECHES OF THE PRESIDENTS Take a look at this.
This is a video made by editing suggestions that were posted on the petition board.
I need a house to get married.
I'm looking to rent a house in Seoul or Gyeonggi Province, but I'll need to get a loan and the conditions for a loan are strict.
I may never get married in this state.
It's been three years since I got married, but I can't even imagine having kids.
My husband and I both have to work.
I really hope the disability rating system will be abolished.
They say it will be, but nothing has changed.
However, there was a budget cut.
I hope the government can be more sensitive.
I live in a different region and it's sad to see only Seoul has a safety system for women.
I wish we had a safe delivery system for women or a system to help us get home safely.
I really wish Korea would become a country where old retirees can find new jobs.
I'm thinking of adding this at the end of the press conference.
These are suggestions made after the bombing.
It's the expectations, hope and vision they have for President Park.
I've been thinking about what the president should say at the end of the press conference.
Yes? I gave it some thought.
What if he says something we can also use as a catchphrase for his presidential campaign? Let's hear it.
Okay.
All right.
This is a catchphrase with a vision for a welfare state in the 21st century.
Let's all go to a happy nation.
Something like that.
Unbelievable.
I know retro is the trend, but I didn't like it much either.
Next.
This one is to show his will to reconstruct the nation after the bombing.
Here it is.
Fresh scenery in the Republic of Korea.
That's not it, is it? It can't be.
Right? I hope not.
It's okay.
Hiring experts at the right time is also an ability the chief presidential secretary needs.
Why don't we outsource it? Gosh, Secretary Han.
This is the last one.
I feel that the people should feel proud about overcoming the attack.
Finally, our pride the Republic of Korea.
I like it.
Nice.
All right.
I like it.
- It's nice.
- Really? - Can we use the first one? - No.
That was a joke.
It didn't sound like a joke.
You sounded dead serious.
I just thought of it.
Of course you did.
Would you like to go in for a minute? I think they're preparing for the press conference.
I'll be interrupting them.
Let's go.
Do you like it? What's this? See if you like it.
I don't know yet.
If you can really become president like people say you will, or if I'll be able to stand living here if we move back in.
However, there is one thing I know.
It's your decision, so it can't be wrong.
You'll always be right.
Is it my birthday today? You give me a present and share sweet words of wisdom.
I got lucky today.
You always look for the best answer when there isn't a right one.
You never give up.
I won't be of much help, but during everything you go through, I'll be there by your side, especially when no one is applauding you.
Remember it.
And today isn't your birthday.
It's our wedding anniversary.
Honey.
Wait a minute.
Listen to me.
President Park Mu-jin will end his official schedule as acting president for the past 30 days with the press conference this afternoon.
He is currently the leading presidential candidate.
What would you do, Na-gyeong? Let's say you're the leading presidential candidate.
Someone you know, but aren't aware of is the mastermind behind the attack.
That's what the bombers said, but it wasn't verified.
What if it's true? Can he reveal the truth when all that power is practically within his reach? PRESIDENT PARK OFFICIALLY JOINS PRESIDENTIAL RACE Na-gyeong, do you know what I just found out? Ji-won, you should shake that habit.
Don't start with a question when you're reporting to a superior.
Sit down.
Whether I start with a question or a statement, just focus on what I have to tell you.
Mr.
Kim and the other anti-North spies filed a suit for damages against the country in 2011.
And? Did they win? They lost.
A quite reputable human rights lawyer represented them and that lawyer was someone who we know.
Who was the lawyer? Hello, Mr.
Kang.
What March 4, on the morning of the bombing, Agent Kim Jun-o called the Deputy of the Security Team.
Are you saying that he's the accomplice within the Blue House who covered up Agent Kim's report? My guess is that after he received Agent Kim's call, he discussed it with another person at the Blue House.
With his mind at ease, he then escorted the President out.
Through the cameras, I retraced his steps before he left for the National Assembly Building that day.
Here.
This is Deputy Kim Jong-min of the Security who died in the bombing.
If this person, who he reported the attack to, didn't disregard the warning and covered it up, the bombing may have never occurred.
ANTI-NORTH SPIES LOSE IN COURT AGAINST STATE The lawyer of the case It's the same person who's currently at the Blue House, right? It was Chief Presidential Secretary Han Ju-seung.
ATTORNEY HAN JU-SEUNG The attorney of that case.
The person who ordered you to help Mr.
Kim escape.
That attorney.
Is Secretary Han Ju-seung the mastermind? Can you believe it? That's absurd.
But it's too noisy.
Seriously.
Hope is a good thing.
It masks the hardship and gives you the strength to start over.
It also gives you the courage to live a new life.
To them, you're their greatest hope.
Oh, I get it now.
Unbelievable.
Gosh.
It's the same hope I tasted when I met President Yang back when I was a public prosecutor.
And now, I'm feeling the same hope with you.
Could I have some of your time? There's something I'd like to discuss.
On the day of the bombing, the Blue House Security received a report of a potential attack.
The report came from Agent Kim Jun-o of the NIS.
Agent Kim Jun-o reported to the Deputy of the Security that the top secret file of OP 5015-18 was in the hands of those who could do harm and that they were plotting to attack the National Assembly Building as it is demonstrated on the file.
Even though Deputy Kim was informed of this attack, he still escorted President Yang to the National Assembly Building.
Why do you think he did? It's because someone told him it was a hoax report and put his mind at ease.
That day, after Deputy Kim received Agent Kim's call, he met with someone before leaving for the National Assembly.
It was me.
Do you know where Secretary Han went? He was here just a minute ago.
He was talking to President Park.
Maybe they left together.
Mr.
Cha, don't you know? I saw them together a moment ago too, but Gosh.
Is something up? Why? What was your reason? You knew about the bombing.
President Yang was your friend and a political ally This country isn't worthy of a President like him.
Impatient, selfish, and greedy.
The people of this nation don't know how to be patient.
To those people, President Yang and his view of democracy was more than what they deserved.
President Yang's approval ratings during his time in the office proves that.
President Yang and I failed.
I devoted my life and put my faith in the people of this nation.
They are the ones who betrayed us first.
So Was blowing up the National Assembly Building your way of seeking revenge against the people? I decided upon a governing style which well suited this nation.
The most formidable type of power is fear and terror.
The people fear and obey those who reign over or govern them.
That's what I learned through our failures.
By choosing someone like Minister Oh to govern this country? Until he won over the people and became elected as the new President, you needed someone to manage this ship.
It's why you needed a puppet who didn't know anything about politics.
You used me to complete your grand attack by joining forces with those who you have been opposed to all your life.
None of them are left in this world now.
From this moment on, my plan is for you to take this seat as Korea's President.
Do you want to be remembered as the one who completed this bombing or would you like to be remembered as the admirable President who restored this nation? It's your choice.
President Park should do a dry run of his press conference.
His talk with Secretary Han is taking a while.
I wonder what it's about.
Don't you know anything? How long do we have? We might have to omit the dry run.
Are you nervous about the press conference? Oh, I see it's already time.
Is it because of the accomplice within the Blue House? There's no need to worry about that, sir.
Nothing would be better than having the NIS reveal the accomplice before your press conference.
It will be the best gift possible.
However, even if that's not the case, it'll still be all right.
We have another special event prepared.
I've been searching for a job while working part-time.
I feel hopeless whenever I think about continuing to live this way.
These are what the people wish for.
I'm upset whenever my child is made fun of at school.
I wish for a country that makes our schools safe for children like mine.
I'm worried about my later years.
Educating my children and supporting my parents will leave me with nothing when I grow old.
Whenever adults tell me to go to a top university, it feels like I'm standing on the edge of a cliff.
Why must going to good colleges dictate the rest of our lives? It seems like we'll have a lot to work on in the future.
Sir? Agent Han Na-gyeong is waiting for you in your office.
ANTI-NORTH SPIES LOSE IN COURT AGAINST STATE FORMER ANTI-NORTH SPY KIM SU-HYEON ATTORNEY HAN JU-SEUNG According to our investigation, the accomplice within the Blue House turned out to be former Chief Presidential Secretary Han.
Should we request help from the police and prosecutors and investigate openly? How many people know about your recent findings? Currently, only us three of the NIS Terrorism Task Force.
Until I order otherwise, please keep these findings between yourselves.
Yes, sir.
ANTI-NORTH SPIES LOSE IN COURT AGAINST STATE From this moment on, my plan is for you to take this seat as Korea's President.
Don't tell me you're thinking about confessing to the world that I took part in the recent bombing and that you were a part of the grand puzzle too.
The people of this nation believe that they overcame this tragedy with you.
Do you wish to trample on that hope? They will feel more betrayed than they did after the bombing.
Think about your secretaries.
They are dreaming of a chance to build a new Korea with you.
Will you choose to let them down? They don't deserve that.
Moreover, you're the kind of person who values being remembered as someone respectful.
Secretary Han You're a monster.
And I will continue to be one.
You just sit there and execute your views.
Be the face of the people like you've always wanted.
The next generation to come will fight in a better arena with better and more decent opponents.
That is what I believe to be true patriotism which will not make those sacrifices be in vain.
You killed too many in the name of patriotism.
Without sacrifice, there can be no revolution Punish me if you want.
I won't fight the charges you bring upon me.
I truly fear nothing, you see.
However, I will only let you do so after the election is over.
Don't you want to see the new Korea you, I, and the young secretaries will build? Mr.
Park.
Yes, sir? Please inform Mr.
Kim that I have arrived.
Yes, sir.
I see you've made up your mind.
Did you make a choice? I don't want to be remembered as a piece of this puzzle you created.
Will you wait for me in my office? Sir? It's time.
My fellow Koreans, greetings.
I am Park Mu-jin, the Acting President of Korea.
Today, I stand before you to announce my resignation as Acting President.
It is to officially announce my running in the 21st presidential election.
PRESIDENT PARK ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY My fellow Koreans, however, I will not run for President of Korea.
What? That's not the speech I wrote.
NIS BLUE HOUSE RESIGNATION FROM OFFICE SPEECH RESIGNATION FROM OFFICE SPEECH The accomplice who played a part in the National Assembly Building bombing is a current member of the Presidential Secretariat.
As a member of this administration myself, I must be held accountable for his actions as well.
I truly believe that we can overcome the sorrows and hardships of the bombing.
Just like we've always been, we now face another task.
The task of electing our next President.
This election won't be a stairway to heaven.
It can't possibly make Korea a paradise that is free from all agony, unfairness, and irregularities.
However, we can't deny that an election is the basic standard of democracy.
For this upcoming presidential election to be fair and transparent, I will fully execute my duties as Acting President until my term officially ends.
In every moment of our lives, the Republic of Korea must be a country we all take pride in.
PRESIDENT PARK ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY If President Park had entered the race, I would've had a tough time winning.
PRESIDENT PARK ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY He truly is an unbeatable opponent.
Should I ask him to join me? After his term ends, of course.
Recruiting talent is what I do, remember? Once again, you chose to be the good guy in this scenario.
My good will is not what I based this decision on.
The laws and regulations that operate this nation are what I chose.
Do you think I failed because I'm not as assiduous as you? Do you think I failed because I am not as passionate as you for this country? The world will never change, President Park.
Yes, you're right.
The world might never change.
That's why I won't change either.
Mr.
Kang.
Please take Secretary Han.
Agent Han and other NIS agents are waiting for us.
You will also fail.
Just like President Yang.
President Yang didn't fail this nation.
I don't intend on doing so either.
We could experience trial and error.
But isn't that what we call history? Mr.
Han How could you make this decision alone? Why? Did you think I'd be against this? - Is that why - I was embarrassed of Mr.
Han who put this plan in motion and even our generation.
I apologize to you and the rest of the secretaries.
Even if you choose to leave this office Have you forgotten, sir? I am here to protect you.
Not just you, but even your views and beliefs.
Sin-yeong, let's write up a column with Ms.
Yun and Mayor Kang going head-to-head and air it this evening.
Sure.
Seriously? What do you think? Who do you think will win the election? Ms.
Yun may have better approval ratings right now, but you never know what'll happen between this moment and a month from now.
The top two choices, President Park and Minister Oh, dropped out of the race simultaneously.
You can't say that President Park is out of it completely.
President Park probably won over the people even more.
This next election won't be the last one, right? Yes, I'm leaving the country.
What happened to Taylor Kim will be deemed as me going rogue.
Yes, sir.
I will head to Vladivostok and wait for further instructions.
The VIP Was it really Taylor Kim? I still can't believe that he orchestrated this grand scheme.
It's like he said.
There were many who would benefit from this attack.
It's safe to say that they were all VIPs.
Na-gyeong, what do you think? What the bombers wanted were a strained inter-Korean relation and a new Cold War.
The VIP could refer to anyone who doesn't want peace in the Korean Peninsula.
I'm almost sure she's taking classes.
One can't speak that well without being coached.
A PLEDGE FOR THE NATION You did well, Agent Kim Jun-o.
May you rest in peace.
I promise to be happy.
I'll try my best.

Good work.
Thank you, sir.
I have something to confess.
Again? Don't tell me you were fired from the school.
No, it's not that.
We're on our way to go camping.
But if you suddenly tell me that you need to confess something, wouldn't I be startled? So what is it? I made sure to bring everything.
I got the burner and equipment for the campfire and sleeping bags.
I even brought a beam projector so you and the kids could watch movies.
Mom, I want to watch Frozen.
Aren't you sick of that? Watching it every day won't turn you into Elsa.
And you look like Olaf.
Mom, Si-wan said Si-jin, if you cry right now, I won't let you watch it.
Si-wan, if you keep teasing her, I'll deduct 30 minutes from your game time.
And you, keep talking.
I forgot the tent.
What? - Dad! - Dad! ANSAN, AUTO CAMPING SITE Can you take these inside? Over there.
We could place this here.
They even lent us a tent.
It's great.
Next time, we should come empty-handed.
Here.
I think we're done.
Would you like to walk with me? Hey.
There's something else, right? How could a meticulous person like you forget to bring the tent? There seemed to be something on your mind these days.
Is that why you wanted to camp even though you had a big trial next week? This is how much I care about you.
To be honest, Stanford University contacted me.
They'd like me to replace Professor Jeong.
They invited me to become a member of their Air Pollution Society.
Stanford? What do you want to do? I heard there's an ocean nearby.
We can't miss it when we came all the way here.
They're so cute.
This is unexpected of you.
That's the best school when it comes to Environmentology.
Aren't the conditions quite nice? What is it? What's bothering you? If I go, I'll be staying there for at least five years.
How will you manage to work and take care of them single-handedly? Apart from that, is there anything else that's holding you back? It feels great to get some fresh air.
The sunset is beautiful too.
I've heard a lot about you.
I heard you're the best in our country when it comes to political technology.
Thank you for calling me over.
- Sit down.
- Yes, sir.
I heard that you supported both the late president Yang Jin-man and the acting president, Park Mu-jin.
Yes, I did serve them.
Do you have any plans to help me run for president after two years? I'm from TK.
I went to school in South Gyeongsang Province, Busan.
My in-laws are from Honam.
My parents and brothers run a large farm in Chungcheong Province.
That's great.
My religion is Christianity, the largest single religion.
My wife is Buddhist.
The majority of the faction in my party is supporting me.
Well, I guess you could say that they're my political assets.
It seems like you've had it easy up until now.
You've never had to sacrifice anything.
I'm afraid I won't be able to help you, sir.
Are you disappointed in me? I seek benefits and practicality more than moral obligations.
It's the 21st century.
Politics ought to change.
You should try calculating our chances of winning.
In a political technological way, that is.
There is a master key when it comes to political technology.
Sacrifice.
The supporters feel like they owe something to you.
They think, "We should at least vote for that fool.
" It's an investment with a high profit.
In politics, I think being faithful to a cause is the most practical and pragmatic choice.
That's why I Politically speaking, you have no chance of winning.
And I don't do losing battles.
Do you have anyone in your mind? We're gathering signatures for the enactment of the Discrimination Act.
May I explain briefly? Could you take a look at this? I'm good.
Later.
Would you like to take a look at this? - I'm busy.
- Please take a look.
We're gathering signatures.
Everyone, this law is against any discrimination based on medical history, appearance, hometown, and race in Korea.
Your cooperation would be very much appreciated.
"Signature campaign for the enactment of the Discrimination Act.
" A minority group is campaigning to make a law for minorities.
You can't make the law like this.
Forget the signatures.
Let's propose the bill.
The Discrimination Act.
In the new Blue House.
Thank you, sir.
Sir, there will be Mr.
Wang's speech about the business strategy regarding next year's economic growth rate at the presidential meeting this afternoon.
The document from yesterday Yes, sir.
Mr.
Park, do you know why I keep you despite your high salary? Pardon, sir? The Chief Secretary of Presidential Protocol serves me as my servant.
What a sight to see, right? So stop talking and focus on serving.
Your next appointment is Yes, sir.
I'll contact him right away.
Sir.
Okay, thank you.
Please take good care of it.
Sir.
This is not a protocol.
This is called power trip.
And I don't want to be your employee any more.
Let's go.
Before they see me shivering.
A JOURNEY WITH READING, YOUTH Hi.
Thank you very much for sitting through the lecture today.
When I was young, I traveled over 200 countries and met people.
Sir.
The number of countries that the current Korean passport allows you to travel is 166.
Isn't Ms.
Jeong one smart woman? Please give us a second.
Come here.
You just humiliated me in front of the press.
Are you trying to get attention? What did you learn in the Blue House? - Yes, Jeong Su-jeong speaking.
- Hi.
You did great.
- Thank you.
- Okay.
I see.
- Could you look over here? - Sir.
This is what I learned in the Blue House.
The most important thing in managing communication with the people and press is honesty and trust.
Those are the basics in politics.
Yes, we're at the bus stop right in front of the entrance.
Yes.
Hey.
- Have you been waiting long? - No.
Let's go.
There are people waiting.
I got you coffee.
What's going on between the two? Is something going on or has it happened? Why don't you ask them? It's not like they're strangers.
I can't ask them because they're not strangers.
Long time no see, Mr.
Kim Nam-wook.
Are you two seeing each other? Are you? What? Yes.
How have you been? Yes, what about you? HEARING ON FINE DUST REDUCTION The domestic emissions have a huge impact on the fine dust level in Korea as well as the emissions outside of Korea.
It has been already proved with numerous scientific evidence.
In order to reduce the fine dust level in Korea, and in order to instigate cooperation with our neighboring countries for the fine dust reduction, we must reduce the cause of the domestic emissions.
In Korea, there are two major factors that need to be reduced.
First, in the metropolitan area, the emissions from old diesel vehicles are the main cause that increase the fine dust concentration.
We must produce less diesel vehicles and develop environment-friendly vehicles like electric vehicles, hydrogen vehicles, and hybrid vehicles.
On a national scale, the illegal emissions from manufactories are the biggest cause.
We need continuous supervision over them to have the corporations fulfill their environmental responsibility and protect people's right to health.
I have a question.
I think the calculation is a bit wrong.
Do you really believe so? It's been a while since we haven't seen the blue sky in spring because of the fine dust.
Just by turning the diesel vehicles into environment-friendly vehicles and with a couple reduction policies, do you really think we can reduce the fine dust? Do you really believe the policies and politics can solve the problem? If politics can't, what else can? Politics is an endless human endeavor to find answers to all the pains given by the Almighty.
I heard Stanford University had offered you an academic position.
Are you taking the offer? I think it'll be of great help to my fine dust research.
I thought you just said politics must solve the fine dust issue.
You're always against whatever I do.
You haven't changed, Mr.
Cha.
Some things have changed.
Usually, I don't make more than three offers.
But you're an exception.
Would you run for the next presidential election? We will be with you.
I would like to see it too.
A world where good people win.
Wait, no.
A world where people win because they are good.
I want to be with a man who deserves my service.
Could you give us your answer? THANK YOU FOR WATCHING DESIGNATED SURVIVOR: 60 DAYS
