Goosebumps (1995) s02e23 Episode Script

223 - The Blob That Ate Everyone

Viewer beware.
You're in for a scare.
Goosebumps.
Of all the stupid chores my mom makes me do, cleaning out the basement has got to be the creepiest.
Zack, check this out.
I wonder what's inside.
Don't open it.
Why not? Can't you read? "Top secret science project.
Beware.
" Okay, now I've gotta open it.
Mm.
They're just worms.
What's a box of worms doing down in a basement? Check this out.
Ew.
Zack, look at this.
Run, Alex! Zack! No! Get it off! Ow! Ow! Help me! Zack! Help me! Well, what do you guys think? That was the scariest story that you've ever written.
Yeah.
I call it "Adventure of the Blob Monster.
" It's awesome.
If you ask me, it was lame.
Ooh.
I'm outta here.
Come on, Alex.
We'd better go.
Okay.
I hate it when Adam puts me down.
Don't worry.
He's just trying to get to you.
- Hey, what happened? - Lightning.
You know, during the big storm yesterday.
Let's check it out.
I wonder what it's like inside.
Zack, let's get out of here.
Zack, that sign said "Danger.
" I mean, this whole place could crash down on us.
- Wow.
Cool.
- What are you doing? Look at this old typewriter.
My dad used to have one just like it.
- Zack! Zack, are you okay? - Zack.
- What happened? You just got a shock.
There must be a wire down or something.
What are you doing? Are you crazy? It's perfect for writing scary stories.
You have a computer.
Whoa.
Way heavier than I thought.
Zack, you can't just take it.
It doesn't belong to you.
The store is totally wrecked.
Who's gonna care? What are you doing in here? - Uh, just leaving.
- You didn't touch anything, did you? It's very dangerous.
I told him.
Just this typewriter.
It's perfect.
He likes writing scary stories.
You could certainly write a scary story about my store.
I spent 10 years and all my life savings.
Now this.
You really want it? Do I! How much? You might as well just take it if you promise to write a really scary story.
Excuse me? Go on.
You can have it.
At least somebody will get some good out of this.
Do you mean it? Thank you.
"Reader, beware.
You're in for a scare.
" Nah! Oh, it's just you.
Hey, how's it goin'? Great.
I'm almost ready to write the blob story.
I need a first line.
Clouds massed in the sky overhead and unleashed their fury.
Hey.
- Where's that come from? Zack, you're not scared, are you? - A little, but What was that? - - Wh-Who's there? This is so weird.
You all right? Yeah.
Thanks for the candles.
I've never seen a storm blow in this quickly.
Yeah.
Pretty weird.
If you're sure you're okay, I'll go downstairs and call your mom tell her to stay at the Parkers' till this blows over.
I bet this is what it was like to write stories in the old days.
"Clouds massed in the sky overhead and unleashed their fury.
" The wind began to howl.
What is that? The window.
It's just the storm.
You know that.
Wait.
You're shaking.
No way.
I'm okay.
Type.
Pretend there's no storm.
Just type.
Alex and Zack were alone in the dark house.
These old writers must have all gone blind.
We need more candles.
No problem.
My dad's got lots downstairs.
Okay.
Mr.
Beauchamp.
Dad? Hey, Dad, we need more candles.
Let's look down here.
Dad, are you down there? Zack, where is he? No one would go out in this storm.
Unless Nah.
Wait.
What was the last sentence you typed? I don't know.
Yes, you do.
It was something about Alex and Zack.
"Alex and Zack were alone in the dark house.
" So what? So this! You wrote about the storm, and the storm started.
And then you wrote about the wind, and the wind began to howl.
And now you wrote that we're alone.
You're nuts.
It's just coincidence.
Oh, really? Makes more sense than believing I'm making all this happen.
No, not you.
The typewriter.
Oh.
The typewriter.
Of course.
Okay.
Let's do a test.
Go on.
Type something.
We'll see if it comes true.
Or are you chicken? Chicken? I'll prove how dumb you are anytime.
They heard a knock at the door.
That didn't happen.
I didn't hear anything.
What exactly didn't you hear? Zack, just don't open it.
Please.
Why not? Who do you think it is? I don't know, and I don't care.
- Just don't open the door.
Hello? Is anybody out there? - That's weird.
- What? I can't see anyone out there.
Zack! Please! Zack! Please, just don't open the door.
No! Don't! No! Don't! This is really creepy.
Who was knocking? It had to have been a tree branch or something blowing in the wind.
Tree branches scrape or scratch.
So what do you think it was? You didn't type that there was anybody at the door.
I can't believe it.
You actually think the typewriter's controlling everything? Well, duh.
That's why she gave it to you.
She knew it had some kind of power, and she couldn't wait to get rid of it.
I can't wait to get rid of you.
Everything you've typed came true.
And if you're wrong, you'll shut up about this? I'm not wrong.
Just type that someone's standing on the other side of the door.
Okay, okay.
But this is crazy.
Drenched with rain, Adam stood on the front porch.
- There.
Satisfied? - You didn't type that he knocked.
Oh, all right.
He knocked on the front door.
Happy? What are you doing here? - Whoa! - Did we disturb you? No.
I was just putting this back in my sister's room.
- Yeah, right.
- Ew! Come on.
No, it's the truth.
And then I had to come here for for something.
Did you stand on the front porch before you knocked? I guess.
I was trying to remember why I came over.
- Zack made you come here.
- Excuse me? Everything he types on it comes true.
That's weird.
No way I'm falling for a dumb old story like that.
I don't know why we have to prove something to a kid in cowboy pajamas.
But we will.
I can hardly wait.
It's not a joke.
Let me show you.
The storm stopped suddenly.
All was quiet.
Too quiet.
Check it out.
Believe us now, Adam? Have you guys both lost it? You think that you stopped the rain? All right.
I'll prove it again.
Watch.
Don't bother.
I mean, if you type that Adam has two heads, neither of them would believe you.
- Adam, no! Gotta go.
See ya.
"The blob monster hid in Zack's basement, waiting for fresh meat.
" What a jerk.
Now I have to retype the whole story.
I think you've got bigger problems than your story like the blob monster waiting for fresh meat.
What was that? - It's coming from downstairs.
- Like the basement? We'll run for it.
How you guys doin'? Still okay? You look, uh, scared.
- We're okay.
We just heard noises.
- From the basement.
That must have been me.
I was down there checking the circuit breakers.
Did you, uh, see anything strange down there? Nothing unusual.
So there was nothing else in the basement with you? - Are you okay? - I'm fine.
Really.
I just wondered.
All right.
I'll go call the power company, see how long they figure before the lights come back on.
What was that? - Let's go check it out.
- Excuse me? Don't you want to find out for sure if the old typewriter has powers or not? - That's okay.
- You were the one who thought it was all coincidence.
Coming? Ooh! Are you scared yet? See? There are no blob monsters down here.
Well, it could be hiding behind those boxes.
Stop it.
Don't you want to find out the truth? The truth is you're wrong.
Come on.
You wish.
It's one of my dad's garden gloves.
Fresh meat! Fresh meat! Beware the blob monster.
Beware Zack's power.
Yeah, real funny, Adam.
You should be on stage.
- You really think so? - Yeah.
The one that leaves at noon.
Can you believe we actually thought we had a haunted typewriter? Hello? Alex, you've gotta hear this.
I'm writing my best story ever.
Really? Yeah.
It's great.
"The blob monster attacked the video store in the mall.
"Everyone's screaming, trying to run away.
But they can't, and the blob eats everyone.
" Is that Alex? Uh-huh.
Hang on a sec.
Ask her to come for dinner.
Okay.
And why don't you run out and rent a video for tonight? Why don't you come over for dinner? I'll show you the story then.
Okay.
- Fresh meat.
Fresh Meat.
Fresh meat! - You have me in your power.
- Jerk.
Hey.
You think you're ready for Revenge of the Gator People? Kiddie section's over there.
- Right.
I must be in the Jerk section.
- Come on.
Later.
What is it? Run! Run! Run! - Hey.
Hey, what's up? Oh, man.
What could it have been? What were they talking about? What's back here? Hey! I created you! I wrote this story.
- Let go! Hey, Zack.
Great gag.
He's not a joke, Adam.
Run! Come on! What is it some kind of balloon? - It's a real monster.
- Radio-controlled.
Cool.
- That's wicked.
Cool.
- Adam, no! It's for real! Come on! Get outta here! Ew.
It's true.
I gotta get to the typewriter.
- What are you doing here? - What's up with you? You know I was coming over.
My story it's coming true.
The blob's eating everyone in town.
- Just like I wrote on the typewriter.
- What happens? How does it end? I don't know.
I never got to the ending.
Now's a good time to think of one.
It's out there! Right.
Okay.
So, the blob disappears.
That's good.
It's coming! No.
It never existed.
That's even better.
And Adam's okay.
Whatever! Just type it! Hurry! Type, Zack! Type! I can't! The keys are jammed.
Please! No! That's it.
We're toast.
Wait a minute.
When Adam typed on it, nothing happened.
What are you talking about? He typed that the blob was in the basement.
- When we went down there, it wasn't there.
- Well, it's here now! Don't you get it? It's not the typewriter.
It's me.
I have the power.
Maybe all I have to do is think and the blob will be gone.
Well, do me a favor and think fast! I do! I have the power! - What power? - Forget it.
You wouldn't understand.
