Greenleaf (2016) s03e04 Episode Script

The Underdog

1 Previously on "Greenleaf" I would give you anything you needed including space.
Doing this tour is a dream for me.
But you got to leave Nathan with me.
What what do you mean you're not coming back? CHARITY: I'm here.
Put me in, coach.
I got a contract with her, Charity.
- I thought you loved me.
- I did.
- Hey, where are you at right now? - On tour.
I've just been noticing a lot of empty envelopes in the offering.
I think someone might be stealing.
Where is the money? What did I tell you? You know, Satan is always busy.
That old devil sent us a tax bill saying we owe $2 million.
And James and I were hoping that you'd be able to help us out here.
- I filed for divorce.
- What?! MAE: My husband had me served with these divorce papers, and I just want to know what my options are.
Once your Bishop is done with you, the party is over.
Have either of the two of you ladies ever heard of Maxine Patterson? - The preacher? - We went to college together.
- I'm sorry.
- I forgive you.
It's just me I can't forgive now for marrying you and making our life my calling when I knew that I was called by God.
MAN: Maxine Patterson speaks to today's society concerning our minds, lives and souls.
Powerful, innovative and current, Maxine gets intimate in this new series.
So what is it that you young folks say, "stop tripping"? When are you going to understand that God is in everything you do? He's in that job you hate, that bad marriage, and can I be real? That weight problem, but that's what you want: - God all up in your business.
- Thank you, Lord.
Come on.
Get on up in it.
I can't fix it by myself.
It's a heavenly vision Ms.
Greenleaf, Ms.
Patterson is ready for you.
Oh, wonderful.
Mm.
When you've been blessed Feels like heaven heaven When you've been blessed Feels like heaven Ms.
Greenleaf.
Ha! Ms.
Greenleaf, who? Mae McCready, girl! I love you! Oh, Maxine! Mm.
Cancel my massage.
Oh, Mae, sit down before you fall down.
What? You heard me.
Sit down.
Sit down.
Kick those red bottoms off.
Leave that first-lady facade somewhere else, and let's go back and have fun like we did back in the day.
Oh, well, then we need some pork rinds and orange pop.
Ooh, you ain't said nothing but a word.
Gloria? Oh, no.
Oh, no, thank you.
Okay, when you're ready.
Mae, why are you here? To tell you that you were right.
Explain it to me plain.
I'm divorcing James.
Why didn't I listen to you? I should have listened to you.
It's okay.
You were after that, you know.
M.
r.
s.
When you should have been looking for the M, the Master of Divinity, something no man could take from you.
Well, I want to get one now.
What do you mean? I want to go back to school.
I want to get my degree, and I want to start my own church.
Now, why would you do that? What, you don't think that's a good idea? Girl, you already got a perfectly good one.
Which one? Calvary, honey.
Calvary? Listen, listen, I look at those folks all the time.
The pastors and the first ladies, they divorce, but the Pastor stays.
He lives high off the hog.
He be eating while the first ladies, they be trying to find a piece of bread inside a church.
- Ugh.
- Huh, you know, as far as I'm concerned, he soiled this.
Let him run off and start something.
You stay, fix it up.
Take over, Mae.
It's yours.
Amen All right Amen Uh-huh, hmm Ooh-ooh, ooh Well Oh-ohh, ohh Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh Amen, amen oh Yeah Thank you.
- First lady.
- Good afternoon.
[DOOR OPENS.]
Beautiful.
First lady, how was Atlanta? Hmm, informative.
And did you see Maxine? Yes, I did, and here you go.
Oh, thank you.
- Mm-hmm.
- Signed and everything? Yes, indeed.
Oh, thank you so much.
Oh, it's nothing.
Beautiful.
Now, how is everything going? Great.
Flowers are here.
Food is here.
We're just waiting on some last-minute rentals, and we're set.
Beautiful, look at this.
Maricel, you did a wonderful job on the sunroom.
Thank you, ma'am.
Mm-hmm.
And I know you were thinking about canceling Mm-hmm.
but everyone is so excited to come.
[SIGHS.]
Hmm.
So, now, we are expecting a good turnout? Oh, yes.
The entire round table ended up RSVPing except for one.
And who might that be? Ms.
Cross.
Well, I hope she isn't too ill.
Oh, and Jacob called.
They're coming from therapy, so they'll be here, but they'll run late.
Jacob and the family are coming? The Bishop told me to invite them.
Excuse me, ma'am, Ms.
Jackson.
Well, I think you're needed.
Very good work, everyone.
It's beautiful.
What are you doing in here, James? Maricel had the guest bath cleaned.
I didn't want to take a shower there.
Is someone coming over? No, no, but you know how folk like to roam.
I I'll get out of your way.
Mm, Karine did tell me that Jacob, Kerissa and the children were coming over.
Well, you know how Clara loves Jacob, and we still don't have that check of hers in hand.
Mm.
So in the interest of putting on a good show That makes sense.
Break a leg.
Now, Zora, when we get over there, I don't want you sneaking around upstairs.
I'm not going to sneak anywhere.
Zora, you need to be respectful to your father, me and everybody else at this thing, or you can't go.
I get it.
And you need to correct that tone, or you're going straight to boot camp.
[MUMBLING.]
As long as you aren't - I'm sorry.
I didn't catch that.
- I'll be in the car.
Empty threats don't help.
Who's making empty threats? Come on, baby.
I have filled out the application.
I've written the check.
All I have to do is put two stamps on the envelope.
You are never sending my daughter to some boot camp in Oregon.
Yeah, well, she's my daughter, too.
Then come up with a better idea.
Roberta's here.
Okay, we'll be right down, honey.
DARIUS: Wow.
[CHUCKLES.]
Will you give me a zip, please? I'd rather not, but sure.
Now, you know you're about to meet a bunch of very old church ladies who are going to ask where you've been, mister.
- All your life? - Every Sunday.
Well, I'll just tell them I've been somewhere near the corner of sportscenter and the bed.
You know you're going to have to come to church - at some point, right? - I know you keep saying that.
Okay, so what's it going to take to get you to come? - Ooh.
- Stop it.
Okay, to church? - Yes.
- Okay, I - I know what might sway me.
- Hmm? Drove by Ebenezer last Sunday.
They had a really interesting thing.
What was it? Free car wash.
You get the water spots out my hood and touch up the chrome, - I'd come - Hmm.
or at least until they'd text me and told me it was done.
You're lucky I'm Christian.
We agree on that.
VOICEMAIL: The mailbox you are attempting to reach is full.
She's still not picking up.
What do you want to do? Let's just call the cops.
That would be the nuclear option.
She's basically kidnapping my son.
Kevin, once you go that route, things could get real messy fast.
Are you sure you want that? I mean, she is Nathan's mother.
Excuse me, Bishop.
Mr.
Thompson is here.
Percy Lee Thompson, oh, I'm so glad they let your old bones out that cemetery to come and see me.
Now, the only reason I was in that cemetery was waiting for your old bones to arrive.
Well, my bones are fine.
It does my heart good to see you, old friend.
It's good to be seen, hmm.
How long has it been? Charity's wedding.
Ooh, I've missed you.
James, you told me on the phone that this was going to be a party.
You didn't say it was going to be such a gala occasion.
Well, it isn't, actually.
Um, every year, we thank the Bishop's roundtable for their service and generosity.
It's kind of a tradition.
Yeah, but it's a tradition.
It has nothing to do with Percy Lee Thompson.
Now, you know, last time I stepped foot in a church, I was hiding from an angry father with a shotgun.
Well, there is a reason I wanted you here.
Man, I've been having trouble lately, well, more than trouble, and I thought I would use this occasion to take one last time to bridge the gap, and since you're the one who introduced us, I thought, well, maybe, maybe she'll listen to you.
Percy Lee? Mm-hmm.
[GASPS.]
My goodness.
What are you doing here? I thought you were too busy to be bothered with your old friends.
Well, if my people can't find a way to run a funeral home for a few hours, then shame on them.
As if you would let anybody there make a decision without you.
Well, whatever, we're just happy to have you.
Oh, it just brings me back to the old days when we had those delicious shoulder sandwiches and coleslaw at hawkin's grill.
Don't forget the beer, ice-cold beer.
Yes.
Now, if you two haven't gotten too fancy, perhaps you can point me in the direction of where I can go to get one.
Well, they're still setting up, but the, uh, the bar is straight in the back.
I'm sure they'll find you a cold one.
- Mae? - Yes, please, help yourself.
First Jacob and Kerissa, now Percy Lee? James, what is going on here? Nothing.
I talked to Percy last night.
He said he was free.
Well, if that's all it is, fine, but But what? We're done, James, so whatever is going on tonight, we're done.
I made up my mind.
[DOOR OPENS.]
Oh, Karine.
Karine, would you please have them make all of the bouquets bigger, grand, every flower we have? KARINE: Yes, first lady.
I mean it, James.
I want it to be spectacular.
Welcome.
Thank you.
Make yourselves at home.
- Always glad.
- Thanks.
Son.
CLARA: So where have you been hiding him? I haven't seen you at Calvary.
I cover religion for the statesmen, and I'm usually on assignment.
Oh, well, I supposed it's a good thing I haven't seen you snooping around Calvary then.
- Mae, Mae.
- Oh, yes, Clara.
Oh, you must have been so proud seeing Grace on the front page.
What was that headline? Oh, "The women Changing Memphis Megachurches.
" Oh, yes, I'm so proud.
I I was just on my way to have some shrimp.
Have you tried them, Clara? Oh, well, there's nothing wrong with my legs.
[LAUGHING.]
I'll go walk over there with you.
- Yes.
- [LAUGHS.]
- Didn't I tell you? - Mm-hmm.
Mm.
Hold on.
I'll be right back.
Kevin, what are you doing here? Looking for Charity.
Is she here? No.
She's on tour.
Yeah, you sure about that? I think so.
Bishop said she quit for a minute, but she went right back.
Why? Because she's ignoring my phone calls, and I finally got in touch with Jabari, and the tour is in Raleigh, and she's not with him.
She's not here.
Then where is she? You know, let's just call her, okay? Come on.
Come on.
Let's give her a call.
[CELLPHONE DIALING.]
[SIREN WAILING IN DISTANCE.]
Can I get you a cocktail? Can I have a Georgia peach? [INDISTINCT CONVERSATIONS.]
[CELLPHONE RINGING, VIBRATING.]
[CELLPHONE BEEPS.]
Hey, sis.
Hey, where are you? On tour.
Okay, well, I'm here with Kevin.
- Where? - He's at the house.
He's looking for you, baby.
Of course he is.
He said he talked to Jabari and that you're not on tour, but I told him that we all know that you are.
Yeah, well, that didn't really work out.
Where are you? I'm tcob-ing.
I'm taking care of business.
- Are you by a pool? - Grace, I'm doing what I want.
Kevin did what he wanted, so I can do the same.
Is Nathan with you? [CHUCKLES.]
They have trained, registered nannies, Grace, so don't start acting like I'm some kind of negligent mama.
All right.
Just give me the phone, Grace.
- He wants to talk to you.
- Yeah, well, I'm busy.
She says she's busy.
All right.
Give me that thing.
What? Charity.
[CELLPHONE BEEPS.]
She hung up.
That's it.
We're calling the cops.
Hey, Kevin, wait.
Just please don't.
She's not giving me a choice, Grace.
It's only been a few days.
It's been over a week.
Hey, listen to me.
You know that you've had your moments, okay? Just give her a beat, please.
[INDISTINCT CONVERSATIONS.]
Please don't let him call the cops.
It's not up to me Aaron.
but I hear you.
I'll do my best.
You say I'm too harsh, but you want to send her to a boot camp? It's not a boot camp, Jacob.
It's a behavior modification program.
It works, and they have counselors there with experience handling tough cases like this.
You handle difficult kids and parents every day.
They didn't just show up to excellence already being excellent.
This is different.
We don't know how to get through to Zora.
She needs professional help.
Baby, this Oregon stuff just sounds like some mind-control, weird, white-people nonsense.
I'm not going to throw my money away so she can go frolic about a lake with some beavers.
I think we should just So what are you two over here talking about that's got you looking so grim? [CHUCKLES.]
Well, your son was just making fun of me for drinking port wine.
Says I might as well be eating a whole pie, it's so sweet.
Yeah, I don't really get port.
[CHUCKLES.]
Excuse us.
Hmm.
Mm.
Oh.
Now, that is my favorite of the two of you.
- Look how little winkie is.
- I know, so adorable.
[LAUGHS.]
How you holding up, mama? No.
I'm the mother.
I get to ask the questions.
What is going on between you and Kerissa? You can tell me.
She wants to send Zora off to Oregon to some boot camp for troubled kids.
- Oregon? - Yeah.
We caught her stealing from the offering plate at triumph.
Oh.
You all should bring her to me for a while.
Okay.
I actually love that idea.
Yep, because that child would not dare disrespect me in my house.
I'll bring it up to Kerissa.
Perfect.
That's settled.
[GLASS TINKING.]
[INDISTINCT CONVERSATIONS.]
JAMES: Come on in.
[GLASS TINKING.]
Come on in, everyone, gather around.
Mae, if you will.
Ecclesiastes 4:9 teaches us that two is better than one because they have good reward for their labor.
If they fall, the one lifts up his fellow.
If they lie together, they have heat, but how can one be warm alone? The Bishop's roundtable has long been a partner with this church, an ever-present partner in good times and in bad.
ALL: Amen.
Mae and I have counted on you all in ways too numerous to mention and too important to forget, so we've called you here to say thank you.
Amen.
But I want to say one more thing: I want my children and grandchildren to come forward for this, please.
[PEOPLE MURMURING.]
When I was young, I didn't know the Lord's plan for my life.
I thought I was going to be a lonely preacher traveling from town to town because I'd never met a woman who took her faith as seriously as I took mine.
But God intervened! Amen.
Indeed he did, in the form of you, Percy, who introduced me to a certain young woman whose piety impressed me so completely that I I turned my back on my lonely vision of the road and inclined my soul to hers.
Mae, I have fallen often on life's journey, but ever since the good Lord saw fit to send you to light my path, I have never felt forsaken, cold or unsure, and if God spare my life, I intend to spend the next 40-plus years the same way I spent the last, in love with you.
[APPLAUSE.]
This church, this family, which my loving wife and I have built together, lo these many beautiful years, let no man pull asunder.
[APPLAUSE.]
That was just beautiful.
The Bishop loves his first lady.
Mm-hmm.
And I daresay that you set the bar for romance pretty high there.
- Anytime.
- Thanks.
[LAUGHS.]
I'm not leaving this house until I can raid that closet of yours.
[LAUGHS.]
Oh, you look very nice, too.
Well, thank you so much.
I'm just trying to keep up with you.
[LAUGHTER.]
Now, who is this, bae? This is my boyfriend, Darius Nash.
Darius, this is Rochelle Cross.
- I've heard a lot about you.
- Pleasure to meet you.
I was asking Grace earlier where she's been hiding him.
[LAUGHTER.]
Well, she's just being sensible.
She knows she bring a treat around like this, everybody going to want a taste.
- Mae - What is that woman doing here? I don't know, and I don't I'll take care of it.
Please do.
Have you read that new article on our Grace? Oh, honey, I've already told her.
I must have read it 10 times.
Oh, now, listen: She's doing a lot of great things, and it would be awesome if you could contribute to one of her funds.
We are always looking for new donors if you want to take a look at the mission statement.
I'm actually already tied up with other obligations at Calvary right now, so unfortunately, no.
You know I understand, absolutely.
- Ms.
Cross? - Yes? - May I have a word? - Absolutely.
Uh, if you ladies would excuse me, and gentleman.
[GIGGLES.]
Please.
Such a nice lady.
Isn't she, though? Hmm.
[INDISTINCT CONVERSATIONS.]
Have I done something wrong? You know I'm trying to repair my relationship with my wife.
Yes.
Your wife is a lucky woman, and this is a gorgeous party.
I've asked you for space.
And I've given you just that.
How much more space do you need? Well, to start, you shouldn't be here.
I'm still a member of Calvary.
Whole roundtable is here.
Surely you must know what it looks like.
ROCHELLE: You have to understand what it would look like if I wasn't here.
James, nothing happened between us.
What, do you except me to just slink off into the night like some shameful secret? It's not about secrets.
You called me and asked me to meet you at the biltmore Rochelle.
when you know I'm in love with you.
Rochelle, please.
No.
You let me finish.
I can't continue to act like you pulling me in and pushing me away doesn't hurt.
Forgive me if I haven't been clear.
"Clear," like the way you held me in your arms like you wanted to kiss me as you told me you loved your wife or maybe the way you told me to stay away while looking at me like a man dying of thirst in front of water.
Bishop, I've been very clear.
You've been anything but.
I thought I was.
And if I haven't been, well, if I've given you some reason to hope, I I'm sorry.
She's leaving.
Why are you talking to me? Your business is clearly with her, not me.
Like I told you, James we're done.
Clara, my dear, let me show you what we did.
It is so [SIGHS.]
[INDISTINCT CONVERSATIONS.]
[INDISTINCT CONVERSATIONS.]
Good night, Clara.
You taking off so soon? Well, you know what they say.
Money never sleeps.
I'm, uh, I'm sorry.
Excuse me.
Do you mind if I have a word with you? Oh, sure.
Okay.
Excuse me.
Uh, let me know if you change your mind on donating into Grace's fund.
Oh, we'll see, maybe next year.
It does sound like a worthy cause.
Mm-hmm.
If you don't mind me asking, what does the church have you tied up in? If you weren't in the roundtable, I'd tell you, but it's a personal matter with Bishop and Lady Mae.
Oh, well, I hope they're not in trouble.
I they seem so blissfully happy, almost puzzling so.
Um, you sure you can't say? I really can't say.
God knows I love my Bishop, but if I was your money manager, I would definitely advise you to vet out whatever it is and just make sure you're protected.
Thank you.
Have a good night.
Good night.
Sorry about the phone thing, but I got your TV back.
Can I get some credit for that at least? My TV didn't last long.
My dad thinks I'm taking from the collection, so - Are you? - No.
So where did you get that money you wanted me to buy the phone with from? It was leftover cash from my birthday.
I'm not a thief, Sophia.
Okay, okay.
My dad, like, went hulk on me.
He was, like, busting open my drawers, almost broke my lamp.
Wow, that's messed up.
Yeah.
You okay? I'll be fine.
Ready? Yeah.
We're going to go take a walk down by the lake.
- Want to come? - No, thanks.
I'm fine.
I don't know.
It's just it's that same thing - Grace.
- Ma'am? Was that Kevin Satterlee I saw you speaking with a few moments ago? You know it was.
Do you know where he went? Ma'am, he left.
Oh, I was hoping to talk to him.
Ms.
Connie, about what, if I may ask? Why he stopped coming to Calvary.
His son is a member even if he and Charity are no longer a couple.
Well, perhaps if we join the open and inclusive coalition, he'll come back.
He's perfectly free to come now.
As long as he hides who he is.
No one asks him to hide anything.
No.
They don't.
They just expect it, demand it, really.
Same old Grace.
I just wonder who is going to be filling those pews.
It worries me, too.
Then why don't we join the coalition? There are thousands of gay, lesbian and transgender people in Memphis who are looking for a church home.
The fact that we don't welcome them What? Just keep praying that one day you'll outgrow that old habit of agitating for every underdog but Jesus.
Every underdog is Jesus.
Excuse me.
[INDISTINCT CONVERSATIONS.]
- Night, Connie.
- Good night.
Fresh glass.
Thank you.
[EXHALES.]
What's with all the smiles? Well, my mother gave the best advice of about Zora hands down.
Oh, I'm scared to hear.
What was it? She said she can stay with her.
No.
She can handle her, Keke.
I don't need your mother's help.
You? Baby, we need a Bible-based environment, not some Blair witch project in the woods.
- Stop it.
- I don't like it.
Zora listens to my mother, and mom will keep her in check just like she did me and my sisters.
Like she kept faith in check? That's out of line.
And what do you call discussing our family matters with your mother? It's family.
[SIGHS.]
You know what? I'm ready to go.
I'm going to go get our kids.
I'm sorry.
[CAR STEREO BLARING.]
Dreams waving hello, hello Love like Rose right Mack Daddy, mack Daddy [INDISTINCT.]
Soft beat, I can hear the angels dying I can hear the angels But do, do you want to Burn that burn, burn Uh, it's been a long time coming Learned a lot from my mother, everybody love her Wait, stop, stop.
What's wrong? Let's just go back inside.
Tell me about the blood on your face I think I'm just going to head home.
Fan of a man that I don't know Don't be mad.
I'm not.
I'll call you later.
The blood on your face you were too close Fan of a man that I don't know Shame on me [FOOTSTEPS APPROACHING.]
Oh, hey, I was just checking up on some new Netflix stuff, hope that's okay.
Well, sorry.
No.
It's not that.
It's Roberto.
I think he wants to have sex with me.
Whoa, that's so weird.
Right? I mean, I thought I was going girl, I'm joking.
There is literally nothing weird about that.
But I want to wait until marriage.
Why? Because the Bible is so clear about Look, I'll show you.
Who is cashmoney2995? Oh, that's, um, you know Calvin from school, right? Why are you still talking to Isaiah? What's the matter with you? What's the matter with you? He hits you, Zora! He talks to you like a child, and he embarrasses you.
He loves me.
No.
That is not love, Zora.
And what do you know about love, Ms.
Goody two-shoes? And you want to talk about embarrassing? You embarrass me.
You embarrassed me at the cotillion, and you're embarrassing me now.
I'm embarrassed to know your ass.
Why would you even say that? Because it's true.
We used to have so much fun together, and you used to be cool, and now you're not.
Every time I talk to you, you suck the life out of me, Sophia.
Every time we talk, it's "Christian this" and and "Bible that.
" I'm starting to wonder if you even believe.
Why do you keep trying to convince everybody I'm not trying to convince everybody.
- Yes, yes, yes, you are.
- No.
I'm not trying to convince everybody.
I'm just happy to be saved, and maybe if you weren't so distracted by this pile of trash, you'd be happy, too.
Do you even remember what that feels like? Yeah, yeah, I do.
All I got to do is think of a time before I knew you, and "pile of trash," okay, is that how God's little bitch likes to show love to all mankind? What did you call me? God's little bitch.
What, you deaf now? Is is your head so far up your ass you can't hear? I could really slap you right now.
Go ahead, Z.
Let's see how well he taught you.
Go ahead.
Do it.
Girls, hey, girls! Hey! Stop it! Let go.
Stop it right now.
What has gotten into you two? You you were looking at that? Was she looking at that? What is this plan, huh? What is this all about? If you think that you're moving out when you turn 18, you need to think again.
You have no choice.
Once I turn 18, I'm going, and I'm going to be with Isaiah, and it doesn't matter what you, dad You better get your hand out my face, little girl.
or anybody else can do about it.
[SIGHS.]
Thank you.
- I cannot thank you and Bishop - Ooh.
enough for such a festive evening, but my granddaughter here seems to think I've had enough bubbles for one evening.
We will be toasting again soon.
Won't we, Clara? In a couple of weeks? I'm glad you brought that up.
I'm thinking it might be wise for us to sit down with my money people, you, me, Bishop, go over this transfer of funds one more time Oh.
just to get a sober look at things in the light of day, hmm? Mm- - hmm.
You ready, Karine? - Yes, grandma.
Well, Clara, Bishop and I will be more than happy to sit down with your money people.
- Oh, good.
- Yes.
And, Karine, you will let me know when that's on the books.
Will do.
You did a wonderful job tonight.
- Thank you.
Thank you.
- Come on, grandma.
- Good night, dear.
- Mm-hmm.
We'll talk soon.
All right.
Good night.
Good night.
[DOOR OPENS.]
[DOOR CLOSES.]
[KNOCK ON DOOR.]
GRACE: Connie.
May I? Please.
Don't tell me, the Deacon board has decided to join the coalition? No.
[LAUGHS.]
But could you see yourself running a church that wasn't a member of the coalition? Why would you ask me that? Have you seen the news? [SIGHS.]
I was just reading it.
Things between your parents have been complicated for a while and now with this IRS thing I'm listening.
We obviously see the Christian faith a little differently, Grace.
Wish I had a better option, a more biblically sound option, but I am no fool.
Calvary is Greenleaf, and in the event that things between your parents take yet another turn for the worst, the deacons may ask you to step up.
Step up? Take over as head Pastor.
What do you say? - Hey, grandma.
- Ta-da, Zora's room.
Uh, Zora Greenleaf, you get yourself over here and give your mother and father a proper goodbye.
Thanks, mama.
We really appreciate this.
I know it's a weird time.
Oh, no.
If anything, baby, I'm inspired.
Aw.
Listen, I promise you I am going to get through to her.
Oh, sweetheart, mm.
- Thanks, ma.
- Mm-hmm.
- I'll call you.
- Okay.
All right.
I should have changed that stupid lock I should have made you leave your key If I had known for just one second You'd be back to bother me Go on, now, go walk out the door Just turn around now Because you're not welcome anymore Weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye Did you think I'd crumble Did you think I'd lay down and die Oh, no not I I will survive Oh, as long as I know how to love I know I'll stay alive.
I've got all my life to live I've got all my love to give And I'll survive I will survive Hey [APPLAUSE.]
[INDISTINCT CONVERSATIONS.]
