sub FILES IN THE OS There is a non-malignant mass in the upper lobe of the left lung that needs to be resected.
I have elected to perform the procedure thoracoscopically rather than employing a more traditional thoracotomy.
This will add an extra hour to the procedure, but it will significantly reduce the recovery time.
Dr.
Sanders! How does it feel to be responsible for the life of the President of the United States? His life is no more important than any of my patients'.
Which is to say, it's the most important thing in the world.
Thank you, everyone.
I think I am in very capable hands.
You're a genius, sir.
This puts you way out front on health care, makes you bulletproof for the Patients' Rights groups, and women voters are gonna love this lady doctor.
Glad to know you care so much about my health, Quentin.
Stay down! I'm not gonna tell you again! - Please! - Shut up! Hey, man.
What are we gonna do? The cops are gatherin' an army out there! They're not gonna make a move as long as we have the hostages.
Redman, do you have your target? Redman, 2-1, affirmative.
Look, all I'm saying Stay down! Shut up! Right, let's go.
Let's go! Who gave that order? Who gave the order to shoot? I did.
Who the hell are you? The agent in charge now.
I was about to open a line of communication to start negotiations.
Thanks.
I'll take it from here.
You lying cop son-of-a-bitch! I told you if one single policeman tried something funny The police are no longer in charge.
I'm FBI Special Agent Duncan Carlisle and from this point on, I am your last, best and only chance of you walking out of that bank alive today.
I have 13 hostages! I demand safe transport.
I'll tell you what.
Release a dozen hostages.
And then we'll talk about your safe transport.
How's that sound? What? You got five minutes.
Ready 2-1, tight on subject.
You're okay, you're okay, keep going! - You're safe now.
Keep moving.
- Keep going.
That's all the hostages free except one.
I kept my end of the deal.
Where's my transport? Pull it up.
Okay.
I'm coming out.
Everybody stay back or this guy's a dead man.
Rifle, 2-1, in command.
Hey! Hold it right there! He shot the wrong guy! Take it off.
He switched places with the hostage.
Boots didn't match his suit.
You shot a man based on that.
What if you'd been wrong? I wasn't.
My department chief is resentful.
He thinks the White House only chose me because I'm a woman.
Your department chief has sewn more sponges into his patients than stitches.
He's a bureaucrat! You are a rock star.
Embrace your greatness, Ellen.
Hey, honey, how are you? Uh, exhausted.
- I'm sorry I couldn't be there.
- Yeah, yeah, of course.
I understand.
You know how hard I've been working on the sale of this Hausman building.
Yeah, I, I know, it's fine.
I understand.
So how was the press conference? It was nothing, really.
I mean, I barely had to speak I was thinking I might come home early and make dinner tonight.
Well, you know I'm coaching lacrosse? Oh Well, I guess I'll see you after.
Okay, honey.
I love you.
This will be an in-and-out operation, fully compartmentalized.
I.
D.
by code number only for the next 24 hours.
I'm Three.
You're Four.
I'm a four? You're a ten, honey, that's why it's such a clever code name.
Hey.
Do you trust this guy we're working for? With my life.
Hey, Dolores.
How's she doing today? The chemo's hard on your wife.
But she always looks a little more peaceful to me after your visits.
Hi, Nina.
I promise you.
Everything's gonna go back just the way it was.
Got picture.
The target is on site.
You have to move now.
Anybody home? C'mere! Hey, you! What's going on? Okay, c'mon, I know what you want.
Yeah, I know what you want! Here we go, good boy.
Morgan? Are you home? Morgan? - Oh.
- Hey.
How was your day? Not as exciting as yours.
- It was just a press conference.
- With the President.
Around the horn! That's it.
Keep it rotating! Stay in your position.
Hey! There you go.
Nice.
Everybody, listen up! I found this in one of the equipment lockers Does anybody know who it belongs to? Look, I don't get paid to be here, so either someone speaks up or I go to the school and the whole team gets punished.
It's mine.
Ours.
It's beer money.
We took up a collection, for a party.
That's an awful lot of beer.
We were also gonna buy fake I.
D.
's.
Kevin, I'm going to have to talk to your parents.
Jake Come on.
Why did you say that? Beats the truth, bro.
Sawyer, can you please walk with Daddy? Come on, Soy-Soy, don't you want to see Grandpa? I packed you a bunch of nice dresses I don't want those.
I want my red Hello Kitty dress! When is Mommy coming home? I want Mommy.
Mommy needs to rest, honey.
So she can get better.
- Grandpa! - Sweetheart! I went to go see her today.
You sure you want to do this? I already am.
- Oh.
I love you, Soy-Soy.
- I love you, too, Daddy.
- I'm gonna see you soon, okay? - Okay.
Hey, guys! Hey, Mom.
How's practice? What are you doing home? Did you get fired? I came home early to cook dinner.
Is that so unusual? Uh, yeah.
Barkley! Barkley! Oh, I let him out back.
Here we go.
What? Are you gonna tell your mother or should I? Kevin and Jake took up a collection for fake I.
D.
's and alcohol.
Beer.
We were gonna buy beer.
I'm grounding him.
For two weeks.
This is Two.
I'm on my way with Number One.
Copy that, Two.
Three and Four are already in position.
Standing by.
Hey, Amelia.
Your eyes are all puffy.
You've been crying again.
You're so perceptive.
You should be a detective.
Are you gonna talk to Boyd? No.
God, no.
You've got to tell him.
Let me do that.
You need to relax.
You've got a big day tomorrow.
You could use a shower.
- Hey.
Where are you going? - Out.
I planned a family dinner.
I'm making pasta primavera.
So save me some.
Morgan.
Your mother wants to spend some quality time together.
Does it even count as "quality time" if it's compulsory? - You're staying - It's not that important.
This is Two arriving on site.
- This is Three.
Go ahead.
- Confirm that all targets are in the home.
Copy that.
Targets are in place.
Stand by for the order to go from Number One.
- Are you ready? - Let's do it.
This is Number One.
We're at the fence.
Hold up, we got a problem.
The girl just left the house.
What's the call, Number One? Operation is still a go.
Tell Number Four to follow the girl.
Hey, yo, Jake, I'll see you tonight.
And you'd better have my money.
Hey.
Nico wants his cash.
Tonight.
What? Did you tell him we don't have it? Kevin.
The guy took a baseball bat to some college kid who tried to stiff him for 200 bucks worth of weed.
Now, do you want to tell him we lost his twelve hundred dollars? We are so dead.
Well, just start figuring out where we can get the money Barkley! I got the dog.
She met up with her boyfriend.
What do you want me to do? Stop her.
Copy that.
I don't like the idea of you walking here in the dark.
Why can't I just pick you up closer to your house? Don't start.
If you'd just introduce me to your parents, I'm sure they would Can we please just not talk about this right now, Boyd? It's really not a good time.
And when is it going to be a good time? You really don't know when to stop talking, do you? You know what? I'm leaving.
Morgan Morgan, wait! Barkley! Barkley! Barkley! Barkley? Ah! Mmf! Oh! You scared me.
Who'd you think I was? Oh.
This is the timer for the pasta.
I gotta go turn it off.
- I'll see you downstairs.
- Okay.
- Ellen! - I'll be right out! - Ellen! - I said, just a minute! I'm not gonna repeat myself, so I suggest you all listen very carefully.
Oh my God, Dad, we've seen their faces, that means they're gonna kill us! Follow my instructions, and no one will get hurt.
Don't try to be a hero.
Don't test us.
Cell phones, tablets, iPods, in the bag.
Let's go.
What do you want from us? Didn't you get the memo, Bri? Keep your mouth shut and do as you're told.
Dr.
Sanders.
I need you to come upstairs with me.
Mom? Mom! You're not taking my wife upstairs alone - Didn't I just tell you to shut up? - Dad! It's okay, it's okay! Please, it's okay! Morgan, Jake, it's all right! I'll be fine.
Just just do what they say.
Do you love your family, Ellen? Oh, yes.
Very much.
Why are you doing this? Tomorrow you are going to operate on the President.
He will die during surgery.
What? You are going to kill the President of the United States, Ellen.
Now do you understand why we took off the masks? When this is finished, we'll be in it together.
No, this can't be happening.
It's not possible.
It is possible.
We've worked out all the details.
Do this for us, and after tomorrow, you'll never see us again.
Otherwise, we will kill your family.
What did he want? Who are they? Don't ask me.
I can't tell you.
It's about the President, isn't it? He is threatening to kill you and the kids Listen to me, you can't be any part of this.
We'll go to the Secret Service, we'll get help, but I'm not going to let them turn you into a into a murderer.
Is that all the windows? Yeah.
What is it? Hey! Somebody tripped a silent alarm.
Hello? Hi, this is Statehouse Security.
Who am I speaking with? Ellen Sanders.
Good evening, Mrs.
Sanders, we received a system alert from your address.
Is everything all right? Uh Yes.
Must just be a faulty sensor.
Can I have your password, please? Mrs.
Sanders? The password is "Ringo Starr.
" Thank you.
We have a patrol car in your neighborhood, Mrs.
Sanders.
He'll stop by to check on you.
That really isn't necessary, really.
It's standard protocol, ma'am.
He's already on his way.
I'm disappointed.
I thought we had an understanding.
Please - I'll get rid of them.
- If we want your help, we'll ask for it.
There's been a mistake.
Everything's fine.
You were in my office.
Sanders residence is clear.
Open it.
That photo was your holiday card two years ago.
You call your mother every Thursday, the same day Jake has Tae Kwon Do, Brian hates chocolate and Morgan's favorite color is red.
Do I need to continue? We have eyes and ears everywhere, we have thought of everything.
Are you starting to understand, Ellen? Are you? I won't give you another warning.
Dinner is finished, Mr.
Sanders.
You won't be needing that.
Separate them.
- Go up, move! Go! - Hey! - Come on, get up.
Move.
Go! - Ow! Hey! Hey! Take your hands off my daughter! - Dad! - No! Are you okay? Yeah, I'm all right.
Get the kids out of here.
Up! Get up! Move! Come on.
What happened back there was unfortunate.
And unnecessary.
As I told you before, we didn't come here to hurt you.
I know why you're here.
Good.
Then you understand the stakes.
You are going to cooperate.
What are you gonna do? Are you gonna beat me more, are you gonna shoot me? I prefer not to use force.
Let's stop playing games, Brian.
We both know you're not the successful businessman.
You're not the breadwinner.
And you're not the loving husband you pretend to be.
We know all your secrets.
All of them.
That's why you're going to tell your wife to cooperate.
There's a website where you can input your age, weight and type of surgery you're having, and it will calculate the risks.
And there's a website where you can watch cockroaches dance, but that doesn't mean it's a good use of your time.
You don't have to go through with it, Paul.
You can still get the Chief Surgeon at Johns Hopkins.
I'm going to be fine.
It's a routine surgery and she's the top surgeon at the hospital.
I'm worried Quentin is going to pull an Al Haig while you're under and declare martial law.
That thought alone will give me the strength to pull through.
Roughly five minutes after the liquid is absorbed into the President's blood, you can expect to see a reaction.
What kind of reaction? His system will start to crash.
Just follow regular procedures.
Nothing you do will save him.
Well, what's in the vial? Don't worry.
It won't show up in the autopsy.
You expect me to trust you? Do you think I want to leave any traces behind? You're a smart woman, Ellen.
You can do this.
They'll never stop looking for you.
You'll never get away with this, you know that.
Why are you doing this? That's none of your concern.
All you have to focus on is why you're doing this.
Don't think of it as killing the President.
Think of it as saving your family.
You should do your homework or something.
I don't have any.
Where is it? What? The phone you're hiding, where is it? Listen, I can explain.
Here.
Take whatever you want.
Who's Nico? A guy I owe money to.
The pot belongs to him.
Uh-huh.
Family emergency.
Can't make it.
Call you tomorrow.
No.
No, you can't Oh, man.
Man You know, our friends are gonna start wondering why they can't reach us.
He's not gonna call.
Who? Pick Up Truck.
You were watching us? What? What is it? Why did you kill my dog? Barkley! The drugs will wear off by tomorrow.
You've got a big surgery tomorrow, Ellen.
Time to get ready for bed.
Ellen! Let's go.
The son's dealing weed.
We're not here to sort out their problems.
Why'd you show him the dog? He's just a kid.
I felt sorry for him.
They have to fear us.
It's the only way to control them.
Remember why we're here.
Sometimes you have to do a bad thing for a good reason.
I'm sorry.
It won't happen again.
Good night, honey.
I love you.
Duncan.
How is she doing? Fine.
She fell asleep reading.
Good.
Thank you.
- How are you? - All good.
What about our friend? - He's here.
- Put him on.
Hello, Duncan.
I just came from the White House.
Everything is in motion.
Can we count on you? Don't worry, Quentin.
She'll come through.
What about school? They'll call.
It's been taken care of.
It's your turn to get dressed.
I need to go to the bathroom.
Like, right away.
I'll take her.
Make sure Dr.
Sanders gets something to eat.
I'm not hungry.
You all right? Fine.
Morgan? You okay? - Hey! - Morgan! Please don't tell It's none of my business.
Morgan! Morgan! Morgan, are you okay? I'm fine, Mom.
What are you doing in here alone with my daughter? He was trying to help.
I think I have a stomach virus.
She's dehydrated.
She needs liquids.
We'll handle it.
You need to get ready to go.
Mom.
Just do what they say.
Can I have a moment alone with my wife? Go ahead.
You have to cooperate.
We have no choice.
What? What about going to the Secret Service? It's too risky.
We can't take that chance.
- Yesterday you said - I know what I said yesterday.
I was wrong.
We're talking about a man's life, Brian.
Look, Ellen, just do what they say, and then everything can go back the way it was.
Like Like it never happened.
Except I'm the one who has to live with it.
I'll be home soon.
Love you, Jake.
You hang in there.
We'll get through this together.
Ellen.
It's time to go.
You okay? I'll be fine.
There she is! Doctor has arrived.
Well, Dr.
Sanders Mr.
President.
How are you feeling? I make decisions affecting millions of lives, all day long, every day.
The idea of surrendering complete control to someone else for the next few hours is kind of a relief.
So, I know we've gone over it before but I just want to show you one last time.
See that shadow right there? That's what doesn't belong in there.
The operation itself is relatively simple, but we do want to make sure we get it all out.
Well, I have full confidence in you.
Thank you, sir.
The nurse will be in soon to start your IV, Mr.
President.
I hear something's wrong.
Did something happen to the President? Step back.
I need you to step back.
What's going on? We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to bring you this special edition of Channel 10 news.
We are following the latest right now out of Bethesda, Maryland, where the President was scheduled to have surgery today.
We'll take you there for a live report.
I'm here at Maryland College Hospital, where we are just getting an update on the status of the President.
We've just been told that the President will not be undergoing surgery today.
He was mistakenly given a blood thinner only hours before his scheduled surgery.
We have been told the White House will be launching an investigation into the matter.
It's not clear how this happened, but the error was caught by the sharp eyes of his surgeon, Dr.
Ellen Sanders.
The President's health is in no danger, but the surgery has been postponed for two weeks.
She's coming out now.
Dr.
Sanders, how do you feel about this setback? Are you upset? Discouraged? No.
I don't give up that easily.
