The Amazing Race Canada (2013) s03e05 Episode Script

The Face Off

Jon: Previously on The Amazing Race Canada, teams headed back home to Canada.
Halifax, Nova Scotia! Jon: where some teams clawed their way through one side of the detour.
Ah, he's got me! Ah! Jon: And others scraped the bottom of the barrel.
Dujean: Why aren't you carrying two? Leilani: Shut up.
Jon: And a big revelation.
I'm transgender.
Jon: And a budding friendship got Brent and Sean the express pass.
Woo! Jon: And in a leg dedicated to her parents, exes Dujean and Leilani pulled it together to capture 1st place.
You're team number one! Ah! Jon: While a misplaced passport I left it on the plane, I think.
Jon: left Hamilton and Michaelia at the back of the pack, eliminating them from the race.
You are the last team to arrive.
Now, eight teams remain as they race to win: a year of travel for two in business class anywhere in the world that Air Canada flies, the 2015 Motor Trend Truck of the Year, the Chevy Colorado, gas for life from Canada's gas station, Petro-Canada, a quarter of a million dollars, and the Amazing Race Canada.
(Dramatic adventure music) Welcome to the capital of Nova Scotia, Halifax.
Today, the city by the sea is the fifth starting point on The Amazing Race Canada.
Dujean and Leilani won the last leg of the race, and will be the first to depart at 1:30 am.
Fly to Les-Iles-de-la-Madeleine in Quebec.
Ooh! Jon: Teams will now fly on Air Canada to Les-Iles-de-la-Madeleine the Madeleine Islands.
In the Gulf of St.
Lawrence this tiny group of remote islands was formed by the wind and the sea.
And today is one of Quebec's best kept secrets.
Hi.
We're going to the airport.
Dujean: We're in 1st place right now.
Leilani: It gives us a lot of motivation.
We could potentially win this entire game.
(Laughing) Fly to the Iles-de-la-Madeleine.
We are going to Iles-de-la-Madeleine.
I'm not 100% sure where they are.
They're in Quebec.
They're in Quebec.
Oui, oui.
There's a cab there.
Once again we are starting the leg in position three for the third leg in a row.
We know we're a 1st-place team.
But we're not a 1st-place team until we prove it.
Iles-de-la-Madeleine.
It sounds oddly familiar but I'd probably just say that anyways.
Quebec, here we go.
What a wonderful start.
I love my dad.
I'm feeling pretty grateful that we're doing this together.
It's a time for us to bond and get to know each other again.
It's all about making beautiful memories.
(Laughing) Fly to Les-iles-de-la-Madeleine in Quebec.
You have one Loonie on your BMO Cash Back World Elite Mastercard for this leg of the race.
I'm a little Edgy? Squirrely.
We're going to the airport.
We're starting this leg in 7th place.
It's not where we want to be.
We're actually a lot better than that.
We're going to come right back up to the top.
To Quebec.
Fly to the Iles-de-la-Madeleine.
We've been at the back twice now and it's not a very good feeling.
However, we're confident that we could be first.
You just never know.
We are actually going back to our home province- very exciting.
How will you be paying for this today? Our BMO Cash Back World Elite Mastercard.
(Bell dings) Jon: Teams are now traveling from the capital of Nova Scotia to Les-Iles-de-la-Madeleine, an archipelago north of Prince Edward Island known for its agriculture and beautiful beaches.
After landing on Cap-aux-Meules Island, teams will locate a brand new Chevy Colorado with a clue on its center console.
Using these photos for reference, they'll have to properly pack the items they'll need for this leg of the race.
Once their truck is ready for the road, they can keep on racing.
Yee-haw! Come on, dad.
We're here.
Drive yourself to-- Plage De la Dune Du Sud and search for your next clue.
But don't forget to pack your truck with all the gear you will need for this leg of the race.
Caution: Double U-Turn Ahead! Double U-Turn, that's crazy because a double U-Turn can change the whole game.
Caution: Double U-Turn ahead.
We're feeling that we are going to be U-Turned if we don't get to that board fist.
We're a strong team.
Down there.
We have to pack our Chevy Colorado full of camping gear and two kayaks.
Here, I've got this.
We've packed a few trucks.
We've gone on a few road trips.
These things are going up like that.
There's a certain way to do this all.
This one is one this side.
Cynthia and I, we are definitely meticulous.
There's a mechanism here that comes down.
Good thing I know how to kayak.
I am packing it with things that are totally up my alley: camping gear, wet suits, kayaks.
This leg is going to be awesome.
I'm here.
I'm here.
I can't grab it all.
Just guide it.
We tie this to what, to this? I don't get it.
I don't know if I'm doing this right.
We're not.
There's a little thing.
See theirs? Look at theirs.
Don't let it fall over! I think that's pretty good, man.
Check! Shoot.
The straps are vertical.
Okay, boys, go find new roads.
Let's go.
Jesse and I are in first lead so we're feeling pretty good.
Okay, where are we going? 199 and you're going to take a right.
Plage De la Dune Du Sud.
Okay, got it.
Sir, check.
Congratulations, guys.
You're good to go.
Thank you.
Thanks.
South Dune Beach.
Do you want to get a check? Yup.
It's like piano wire.
Ding.
Alright, guys, go find your roads.
Thank you.
Yes! Woo-hoo! Right there.
Right there.
Roadblock.
Who's the king of the castle? A roadblock is a task that only one person can perform.
The Madeleine Islands is home to one of the largest sand castle competitions in the world, attracting some of the best sculptors each year to create masterpieces out of sand.
In this roadblock, one racer will need to recreate a sand castle with some of the tools they loaded into their Chevy Colorado.
Using this completed castle for reference, one team member must sculpt an exact duplicate around their partner, who is buried up to their neck in sand.
Once this sculptor feels they've created a masterpiece, they'll receive their next clue.
- I'll do it.
- You want to do it? - Okay.
Oh man, I've got to get buried.
That sucks.
Can't catch a break.
When I see the sand castle that I have to mimic I see a lot of detail.
It has windows.
It has stairs.
Every wall is perfectly shaped.
That's going to be tough.
Okay, you've got to get in.
I got to bury you.
That sucks.
I built a few sand castles when I was a kid.
Here goes nothing.
You should be used to this by now.
Roadblock.
Who's the king of the castle? Go for it.
You want me to do it? Okay, I'll do it.
Just think warm thoughts.
Bring it! Oh no, a little less there, honey.
Married, no kids but I still like the boys.
Dad, the clue box is right here! Oh.
Do you want to do it? Sure.
Dad, seriously? Am I splashing you? Daddy! It's not often you get a chance to have the upper hand on your daughter.
Oh-ho! I can't wait till I can get you back in some way or form.
I've buried my daughter semi-alive.
It hasn't stopped her from talking.
(Laughing) Oh, those are the trucks there.
Who is the king of the castle? I am.
Okay, I'll do this one.
Sure, I'm the king of the castle.
Okay.
Do you want to just do it? Are you okay? Okay.
I got to do what we got to do.
There's going to be sand in your mouth.
Careful now.
I'm the king of the castle.
I've had dreams that end like this.
Ew! The last thing I want is sand on me.
The tide's not coming in, right, like someone checked on that? I'm actually doing really well on this challenge.
I've done several home renovations and it's very similar.
You have to build these walls, and instead of using concrete you're just using sand.
One thing I'm making sure is that I'm constantly using wet sand.
Wet sand is easier to pack and it stays hard the entire time.
When you start using dry sand it collapses, and I don't want to have to rebuild it.
This is coming out beautifully! This is the thing that's taking me the most time.
You have to have certain details like the roof has to be indented.
You're probably the best sand castle maker I know.
Check! I feel pretty good.
It took me a long time.
Thank you! Thank you, sir! Make your way to Monument aux Pecheurs and search for your next clue.
Jon: Teams must now travel to the picturesque harbor of L'Etang-Du-Nord and search for this sculpture that pays tribute to the islands' fishermen who helped create and preserve this one-of-a-kind community.
Here they'll find their next clue.
Let's go.
Hurry, hurry.
Good job, G.
I think I'm ready.
Check! Incorrect.
Not ready yet.
I knew it was a small detail but to find it could take forever.
My ass muscles are clenched.
I could crack a coconut with these.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
(Rip) I'll do it.
We are the last team at the sand castle challenge.
Sorry.
Easy.
A lot of catching up to do.
The hard part is trying to cover Nic completely because he's over 6-feet tall.
What, love? You almost broke my arm.
Because I'm stepping on it.
- Yup.
Sorry, love.
How are you feeling now, Nick? Pretty cold.
I'm lying under the sand for 35, 40 minutes.
I'm definitely shivering like head to toe.
I think you're doing a really good job, but I have to tell you to go faster.
Neil: Just a couple of minutes.
I know she's freezing.
I try to make it so we have one good check and go.
Kristin: I can't, I can't lie here much longer, I can't! Neil: Can I get a check? No, incorrect.
Neil: Oh, come on! Stairs.
(Groaning) Dad, I don't know if I can do this any longer.
I really don't.
Should we take the penalty? (Dramatic instrumental) Dad, I don't know if I can do this any longer.
I really don't.
Should we take the penalty? No, we're going to keep going.
I could puke.
I'm not even kidding.
(Throws up) Brent: Oh god, Sean.
Cynthia: I know I'm really close.
I know it's a small detail.
Oh, my god! It was eight stairs instead of seven stairs up to the top.
Two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
Okay, that's it, Brian.
I think I was missing a stair.
Check! Good job! Thank you! Both: "Monument aux Pecheurs.
" "and search for your next clue.
" Cynthia: We are right on the tail of Gino and Jesse.
Punch it, Chewy.
(Tires squeal) I see the box right there.
Face off! For the first time on the Amazing Race Canada, Teams will compete in a new head to head challenge that could dramatically change their position on the race.
This is the Face Off.
Beat another race team in a head to head game of kayak hockey.
The Face Off is a challenge where teams compete head to head and no team can move forward in the race until they've successfully won the challenge.
In this Face Off, teams will compete in a sport that was created right here on the Madeleine Islands.
Kayak hockey.
This new hybrid sport takes Canadians' love of hockey into a whole new arena, the frigid waters of this fishing harbour.
The first team to score two goals will win the challenge and receive their next clue.
The team that loses the Face Off will have to wait for the next team to arrive before they can try again.
And the final team will have to wait out a predetermined time penalty before they can continue with the race.
Jesse: Oh, back in the wetsuit.
Now we have to wait for another team to arrive.
Feeling confident? I'm feeling very confident.
Ope: The door! Oh my god, I didn't have an entrance! Check! Correct.
Oh, thank you! Okay, we've got to go.
Brian: Marker right there.
Cynthia: I know, that's what I saw too.
Both: "Face Off".
Cynthia: "Kayak hockey".
Okay.
Brian: Well hello, boys.
Well, hello! East meets west.
(Laughs) Jesse and I are going to crush Brian and Cynthia.
(Whistle blast) (Exclaims) Cynthia: Oh god.
The whistle blows and Gino and Jesse are halfway to the ball, and I'm still trying to get into my kayak.
Jesse: You go to the net! We've never played kayak hockey before but we're very competitive and we're athletes.
We're not going to lose it.
Cynthia: Whoa! Jesse: Come on, G! Cynthia: You can still save it, Brian.
Ref: A goal! (Whistle blasts) Brian: Okay, you stay back, honey.
Gino: Keep going, Jess.
Cynthia: You've got it, Brian.
You've got it, Brian.
Brian: Okay, Cynthia.
You're okay.
Jesse: Go, G, go for it.
Yeah! (Whistle blast) Two goals! Gino: Good game, guys.
A 2-nothing victory.
I'm feeling pretty good right now.
Okay, good game! Gino: Thank you.
Detour.
Ride it or Pull it.
A detour is a choice between two tasks, each with its own pros and cons.
In this detour teams must choose between two island traditions that have been around for centuries.
It's their call, ride it or pull it.
In Ride It, teams must locate this stable and master the equestrian art of dressage.
Racers must mount their horse and successfully navigate this obstacle course.
When they both complete the course in a combined time of eight minutes or less, Isabelle will give them their next clue.
In Pull It, teams will have to roll up their sleeves, and get to work on a family farm.
Teams will drive to Cap-aux-Meules and find the Leo et Fils farm.
Once here, they must first roll a 75-pound bale of hay from the pasture into the barn.
And then they'll have the pleasure of getting up close and personal with one of these Canadian cows.
(Mooing) Milking the cow by hand, each team member must fill a one liter bottle with fresh milk.
Once the teams have filled their bottles, the farmer will give them their next clue.
I say we try the milk.
Pull it.
- Pull it.
Okay.
- Ready? Now we have to wait till the next team comes and you do it all over again.
Matt: I was missing a door on the back of my castle.
Check! Thank you very much.
Check! Thank you so much.
Check! Thank you very much, sir.
(Grunting) Kristin: Dujean got it.
Dujean got it.
Neil: I know.
We're third here and second last to leave.
Are we close? Neil: You never want to let your kids down and my little girl's counting on me.
Breaking my heart.
Give me a couple of minutes.
I'll get a check.
Simi: Oh my god, I see it! I see the clue box.
Both: "Face Off"! "Kayak Hockey".
Oh my god! (Whistle blast) Kayaks, are you kidding me? I can't swim.
I've never been in a kayak before.
I'm scared for the water.
Brian: Cynthia, go forward.
Cynthia: You keep coming with it.
One to go! Ope: You stay in the net.
Brian: Okay, Cynthia, go up.
Keep going.
Cynthia: Keep going.
Keep going, honey.
(Whistle blast) Two goals! Ope: Ha, oh boy.
"Detour.
Ride it or Pull it".
Pull it.
We're going to pull it.
I've never milked a bull.
There's a first time for everything.
All right, bud.
There's the Face Off! Oh god, kayak hockey? This is like the leg from hell.
(Whistle blast) They're having trouble staying on their kayaks.
(Whistle blast) Ref: One goal! Nick: We're not good by any stretch but they're terrible.
Come on, move up with it.
(Whistle blast) Two goals! (Sobbing) Ope: You can't cry, man.
Stop crying.
Simi: I'm tired! That's all.
It's really exhausting.
My arms are about to fall off but this is only round three.
Matt: "Ride it or Pull it".
Pull it? - I think so.
That's a lot harder than it looks, that's for sure.
Look for the sign too, okay? Ferme Leo et Fils.
It might be here.
I say go a little farther.
If it's not then maybe turn around.
Yeah, because the further we go, the further out of the way, right? Take the right fork and then it's the first right.
Copy.
Brian: There! Turn left.
The Ferme Leo et Fils.
Oh, right there, Ferme Leo et Fils.
Brian: Who's this behind us? Cynthia: The boys? Oh, we're the second team here.
Brian: We've got to move this bale of hay first.
Jesse: We've got to move this bale, let's go! Gino: We can beat these guys.
(Grunting) Jesse: Okay, we're going to milk a cow.
(Mooing) So we've never been to a farm before and it smells like cow manure.
It stinks.
(Wet plopping) Let's milk some cows.
Just pick one.
This one here.
We have to each fill a one liter bottle full of milk.
Okay, go.
Come on, Gino, work those nipples! Gino: This is not coming out.
So they're going to be tired.
We have to be aggressive right away.
Simi: Brent and Sean, they're really sweet guys, but we can definitely take them.
(Whistle blast) Sean: Brent, go around me, c'mon! That way.
Brent: I was doing offense! As far as you can, just move as far as you can.
(Whistle blasts) Ref: Two goal! Brent: Good job, Sean.
I am angry now.
I've been in this cold, freezing water for way too long and I want to get that ball.
Sean: Good job.
Get towards it.
Slowly, slowly, Brent! (Whistle blast) Ref: Two goals! "Detour.
Ride it or Pull it.
I can't ride a horse.
Okay, we'll do the cow.
Yeah, we're going to do Pull it.
Oh god, cows! (Whistle blasts) Dujean: Get it in the net, Leilani, get to the net! Leilani: This is a workout.
Got it.
Yeah, that's it.
Simi: Dad, this end! Dad, watch! Dad! Dad! Dad! Leilani: Get it, Dujean! Simi: Do it! Do it! (Whistle blows) Ref: One goal.
(Panting) This is such a difficult situation.
Three teams have beaten us.
If we can't turn this around soon, we're going home.
(Whistle blows) We've got to get out there! Oh, god.
Get it, Dujean! Dad! (Splashing) Dujean, get it! That's it, stay with it.
Guide it the whole way.
Whoo! (Whistle blows) We're going to ride.
I'd rather be decorating a cake.
That is a guarantee.
Oh my god, I have to pee so bad.
So just pee, love.
I can't, there's too much pressure on my bladder.
Just do whatever you have to do, okay? Can we get a check? A check? Oh my god, please.
Please, sir, please.
Good? - Thank you so much, thank you so much.
- Thank you.
Ow, ow, ow! Ow ow ow ow ow! (Sobbing) The pain in my calves and my feet was honestly-- like, I've never felt anything like that before in my life.
Sorry, Dad, I can't move! I know exactly what's going on.
Her muscles have-- under the pressure of the sand and the cold, have cramped up and locked up.
First order of business is getting my daughter to the hospital and make sure she's okay.
(Siren wailing) Then we'll see about finishing the race.
This is crazy.
(Siren wailing) (Mooing) Okay, hon, get on that tit.
Yes, nice work, Cynthia.
Oh, I can get two going.
You got it, Cynthia, you got it.
I've got a technique.
Push and pull.
That's a way better technique, bro.
Look how fast you can go.
The boys are just givin' her, like, whoosh, whoosh.
But are they getting more out? I'd say they are.
This guy's a mad cow milking machine! You're doing good, man.
(Mooing) "Take one bale of hay following the marked path.
" The wrestlers just arrived.
They're just tossing around that bale.
Alright, buddy.
This is so weird.
How do you? This is strange.
You getting anything? Nothing's happening.
You getting it alright? We have one liter of milk.
We are almost done our second.
That's probably good.
How's that? Yeah, that's good, okay.
Check.
Thank you very much.
The boys are gone.
"Drive yourselves to l'Escalier De la Point aux Meules.
Caution, double U-turn ahead.
" Jon: Teams must now make their way to the coastal trail along the seafront of Cap-aux-Meules, and climb 185 steps to the top of this lookout, offering epic panoramic views of the bustling harbour below.
When they arrive, they'll find the double U-turn, which gives two teams the opportunity to slow down two other teams by forcing them to complete both sides of the detour.
Okay.
- Okay, let's go.
I want to be first at the U-turn board, and no-one's getting in my way.
Oh, you're doing good, hon, you're doing good.
Oh my god, you did it fast, honey.
You got it right there.
Let's go.
We've got to climb up stairs.
How are we doing with time? No time, love.
We're the last ones.
No, no, you, time frame of finishing.
Well, love, I know I'm the last one.
It's okay, love.
We got here last, eh? We can't expect miracles.
This is it.
This way.
Hustle! For this challenge, we have to each complete an equestrian obstacle course within eight minutes.
We have to weave them through these moguls, take a rope off of some barrels and get the horse through it, go through the gate, go over these two jumps, and we have to grab this cow on a string and drag it through these two pylons.
(Beeping) Good girl.
When I was younger, I went to horse camp in the summers.
I'm thinking this is going to be so easy.
(Whinnying) - Oh! Come on.
My horse is very feisty.
Let's go, Leilani! (Beeping) (Buzzer) That was terrible.
(Grunting) My arms are taking such a beating.
This is like a Mini Wheat to the wrestlers, so (Laughing) Almost there! What's up, boys? Hello.
Ready for some teats! (Giggling) Here, I'll go-- ew, look out! That one's dropping patties.
Oh my god, it smells.
I feel like I'm going to get, like, carpal tunnel.
(Mooing) - (Shriek) Simi: I'm cold, I'm tired.
We've been waiting forever for the next team to arrive.
My dad, he's really cold.
(Shuddering) I can't do this.
- Dad.
The cold is getting to me.
I don't think I can do this anymore.
What's the penalty for this? It is that bad.
I can't even think straight anymore now.
We're taking a penalty.
We'll take a penalty for this one, because it doesn't seem like any teams-- any of the other teams are showing up.
It's a four-hour penalty.
It's a huge risk, but we can get the other challenges after this done, and hopefully still have a chance.
"Ride it or pull it.
" We'll pull it.
Let's go.
How are you doing, love? Freezing.
I know, love, I know.
Okay, check.
Good job.
My god, are you okay, love? No matter what happens, we cannot give up.
We are not going to end up last today.
We're looking for Le Monument De Pecheurs.
Are you sore? - Yeah.
I've been checked out of the hospital.
My muscles are really cramped.
Oh my god! But I'm okay to continue the race.
I have no idea what's ahead, but if it comes to something that we can't do because of my legs, we'll take a penalty.
Oh, son of a (Groans) It's a face-off.
Dammit.
We're injured, so we're going to take a penalty and not compete.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Detour! Probably something awesome.
"Ride it or pull it.
" What? "Saddle up and complete an equestrian course to receive your next clue.
" I grew up riding equestrian.
I love horses.
They're my most favourite thing in the entire world.
You need your calves to ride a horse-- (Crying) and mine are burning.
What do you think, Kris? Let's just go see the horses.
Okay.
I have to at least try.
What's it called again, Jess? L'Escalier De la Pointe aux Meules.
There it is.
Let's go! It says climb to the top.
Those stairs might be it.
I don't know.
Come on, Cynthia, a little farther.
I know.
Okay, we have to decide.
If we U-turn the boys, we're probably going to get first place.
You want to U-turn them, go ahead.
Let's not.
- Okay.
We've chosen not to use the U-turn.
We are first, and we're not going to create any extra waves for our game in the future legs.
"Drive yourselves to Point Olde-Harry on Grosse-Ile and search for Jon at your next pit stop.
" Jon: Teams must now make their way through the island's colorful communities and stunning landscapes to Grosse-Ile, or Big Island, the English and northernmost part of the islands.
Here, amongst the windswept dunes and the famous red sandstone cliffs of Olde-Harry Beach is the fifth pit stop on The Amazing Race Canada.
The last team to check in here may be eliminated.
- Okay, let's do this.
- This is ours.
We're in first place, and I'm feeling good.
Okay, which way? Keep going straight, honey.
Yeah, that's it.
So, we've got the big boys.
Nick and Matt have been really strong competitors.
They've continuously been at the top.
But then we get the express pass out by getting Brent and Sean.
If we U-turn Brent and Sean, they have to use their express pass.
Or we can go with no one.
We've got the big boys.
But then we get the express pass out by getting Brent and Sean.
Let's get the express pass out.
You want to get the express pass? Yeah, let's do it.
We're U-turning Brent and Sean, taking that express pass out of the game.
(Mooing) Let's see what you've got.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
This might be it, Brent.
Yay! Thank you so much! Okay, let's hurry.
Let's hope we didn't get U-turned.
"It's time for a face-off.
" Jon: Because both Simi and Ope and Neil and Kristen have taken four-hour penalties at the Face-Off, there is no team for Nic and Sabrina to face off with, so they will not serve the time penalty and can continue directly to the detour.
Les Fermes Leo et Fils.
We're on our way to a farm challenge.
(Mooing) - Oh my god.
Ope: There are no teams at the detour.
We have to do this very quickly.
(Mooing) I think you pull down.
Oh my god.
Oh, there you go.
There you go! Yes! Yeah.
Pointe Olde-Harry.
Oh, it's not here.
You're too far.
Too far? This way.
- So it's back this way? Not, not impressed.
Oh, you can see it, it's all the way down there.
Hopefully we got here first, brother.
Hustle up, boys! Bring it in! (Speaking other language) Welcome to Les Iles-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec.
Thank you very much.
Thank you, sir.
Gino and Jesse, fellas, you're the first team to arrive.
Both: Yeah, yes! That's amazing.
Air Canada wants you to keep discovering this amazing country of ours with two tickets to any of their Canadian destinations.
That is amazing! Petro-Canada also wants to put free gas in your tanks for the next year.
Oh, my god, are you kidding me? Bring it in! We're super happy.
We haven't come first since the first leg.
We're back, baby.
We're coming, Jon! Brian and Cynthia, you're the second team to arrive.
(Sigh) Gino and Jesse may have won the battle but we are going to win the war.
Jon: We'll see you at the next stop.
Thanks, Jon.
- Thank you.
It's been a rough leg.
We're not going to U-Turn anybody.
They're already screwed.
Oh, the brothers did it.
Gino and Jesse.
Oh, that's frustrating.
Our best strategy is to U-Turn somebody.
Guarantee we don't get last.
Okay, we're choosing to U-Turn Nic and Sabrina.
In order to save our express pass we need to U-Turn somebody to ensure they get to the task after us.
Let's try to be quick.
We've got to find out where those horse stalls are.
(Beeping) Alright, there we go.
(Bell rings) Go! I've never had the chance to ride a horse but I know animals sense fear and I know animals sense confidence.
If you're taking charge the animal will listen.
There you go, there you go.
(Beeping) He is killing it.
(Bell rings) (Cheers) Thank you! You did awesome! Was it hard, guys? Gino and Jesse U-Turned us.
Wow.
Sean: We don't want to use an express pass.
Guys, you can do this.
Okay, let's just run and do it.
You can absolutely do it.
Absolutely.
Nick and Matt, fellas, you're the third team to arrive.
(Laughing) We figured as much.
Yeah? Third place is just kind of our thing, where we've been hanging.
See you at the next stop, boys.
Let's go.
Oh, Nic and Sabrina are here.
Oh, boy.
Oh, boy.
Let's get going.
Let's get going.
I know, Dad, I know.
How did you do this so fast? Squeeze down.
(Cow moos) Bravo.
Bravo! You're a natural.
Nic: I'm a natural.
My grandparents would be proud.
Sabrina: Bravo, that's a lot.
I can't.
We're at the detour.
My dad's ready to go but I'm starting to have second thoughts.
Can you come sit here for a second, please? Neil: You bet.
This is pain that I've never in my life before experienced.
I don't think I can do it.
I'm honestly thinking that this is the end of the road for us.
Do you think I should try? I think you need to make that decision whether you think you can do it or not.
Let's do it.
Let me try.
(Horse neighs) My partner's back.
Come on, hurry up.
Sean and I are determined to get this other detour done.
We're not using this express pass.
No.
- Not today.
Brent: Go, Sean, go.
You've got this.
Okay, good girl.
Brent, just watch carefully what I'm doing, okay? Brent: Yeah.
I horseback rode up in the mountains of Banff so I spent about two days on a horse.
Come on, horsey, this way.
Please, horsey.
(Beeping) Brent: Keep going.
Good job, Sean.
(Bell rings) Woman: Okay, go next! Sean: Go, horsey.
Come on, Brent, you've got this.
Ah! No, no, no, no Come on, Brent, you're good.
(Beeping) Come on, horsey.
Sean: Come on, squeeze, Brent.
I am! (Bell rings) Yes! We did it.
Thank you so much! Brent: Yay, good job, Sean! I'm so glad we never used our express pass.
Sean: I know.
It burns.
- I know.
Kristin: The pain is real but I am getting back in that saddle.
(Bell rings) This has no legs involved.
This is all in the reins.
I can totally do this.
(Beeping) Woman: Go! Keep your reins forward, Dad.
Good job.
There you go.
Neil: Atta boy! Kristin: You got it! You got it! (Bell rings) Yes! Thank you so much.
We're not out of this.
Ope: We need to hurry up on this.
Simi: Believe me, I know.
(Speaking other language) We have to get to the U-Turn.
We still have a four hour penalty, right, that we need to deal with.
Nic: Good one, good one.
(Speaking other language) Let's go.
Let's hope nobody U-turned us.
Kristin: I know that's it.
There's Sabrina and Nic, Dad! Oh, my god, there's another team too! Ope: Go, go! Nobody U-turned us! Look who U-turned us.
Brent and Sean U-turned us.
Why? Oh, my god! Now we have to go horseback riding.
You knew we were in last place.
Why would you do that? Leilani: Woo! Come on, bring it in! Dujean and Leilani, you're he fourth team to arrive.
Oh, oh! Brent and Sean, you're the fifth team to arrive.
Oh! Good job.
Oh, good job too! Getting U-turned but still coming out of it with our express pass I mean, we're really, really proud of ourselves.
Brent and I are the kind of people that if you try and force us to do something, then we're going to try twice as hard not to do it.
Yeah.
So, mistake.
Jon: See you guys at the next stop.
Bye! Sean: Thanks, Jon.
Kristin: Oh, god, Dad, we can do this.
Neil: We see Ope and Simi about 50 yards ahead of us.
Okay, slow down.
Let me read this sign here, Dad.
It doesn't say Head Road.
Keep going, Dad.
No, it's not here.
They've gone ahead.
Oh, my god.
If they get there before us we're finished.
What's that on the right? Oh, here we go, here we go, yeah.
Hi.
Neil and Kristin, you two are the sixth team to arrive.
But because you failed to complete the Face Off you have incurred a four hour penalty.
If you could just wait off to the side, I will let you know when that time is up.
Yeah, okay, thanks.
Okay, thank you, thanks.
Simi and Ope, you're the seventh team to arrive.
But because you failed to complete the Face Off, you have also been given a four hour penalty.
If you'd kindly wait off to the side, I'll let you know when that time is up and I can check you back in.
We're team number seven.
There's one team behind us Nic and Sabrina.
This is a worst case scenario.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, right there.
Woman: Hi.
Hi.
Hello.
I'm so sorry.
It's too dangerous.
We can't do the race in the dark.
We are told that it's not safe and it's too dark for the horses to complete the course.
Nic: This means that we have to wait for a predetermined amount of time before we can receive our next clue.
This is yours.
Both: Thank you.
We'll see how the others teams did when we get to the mat.
Nic and Sabrina, you two are the last team to arrive.
Mm-hmm.
But because two other teams failed to complete the Face Off, you are now the sixth team to arrive.
You're still in this.
Sabrina: We're still in the game.
See you at the next stop.
Take care.
Bring it in, you guys.
It's time to check you in.
Neil and Kristin, you're the seventh team to arrive.
Which means Simi and Ope, you are the last team to arrive.
I got to run this race with my dad and got to accomplish so many things that we didn't even think was possible.
Tough day today.
I love sharing the mat with these guys but not like this.
Well, I'll tell you what.
This leg of the race is not over, ladies and gentlemen.
Oh! Here's your clues.
Keep on racing! We still have a shot! We're still in the race! Make your way to Sudbury, Ontario! You need to get moving.
The other racers are already on their way.
Race safe, you guys.
Next time on the Amazing Race Canada Keep on racing, fellas.
Teams continue to race to Sudbury, Ontario where the drama continues.
Woman: This is your lunch.
Are you serious? Oh, my god.
Jon: And the trauma gets critical.
Nurse: Sorry, he doesn't have a pulse.
Jon: The detour forces teams to take the plunge.
(Cough) Oh, my god, oh! Jon: And go deep underground.
Whoa!
