The Amazing Race Canada (2013) s05e06 Episode Script

We Just Saw Johnny Mustard

1 JON: Boys, get lost! PAUL: Let's go! JON: seven teams kept on racing ANDREA/EBONIE: Still racing! JON: from Beijing to Bangkok SHABBIR: Ride 'em, ride 'em, ride 'em! JON: where a risky fast forward ADAM: We have to make a move in this race.
ANDREA: Yeah.
JON: gave Adam and Andrea the ultimate leg-up.
[LAUGHTER.]
ADAM: That's like scoring an overtime goal in game seven right there! You're team number one.
[SQUEALING, LAUGHTER.]
JON: A tricky puppet show left some teams eating their words It's just hard because we can't talk.
ZED: Bump on the way out.
SHABBIR: Yeah.
No.
SHABBIR: I'm not sure what we're not getting.
JON: while the detour had teams riding high Yeah, let's go! PAUL: Whoa! Woo! JON: but left Shabbir without a leg to stand on.
SHABBIR: It's time to switch.
JON: And even though Karen and Bert, and Korey and Ivana KOREY: Whoa! JON: nearly dropped as they shopped, on the other side of town, Zed and Shabbir could not buy their way out of trouble SHABBIR: What a day.
JON: ending their race for good.
I didn't want this journey to end.
JON: Now, six teams remain as they race to win the next generation 2018 Chevrolet Equinox True North Edition, a once-in-a-lifetime trip for two around the world, a quarter of a million dollars cash, and The Amazing Race Canada.
JON: This is Bangkok, Thailand, one of the fastest-growing cities in Asia.
Here, in this sacred city, known as the Land of Smiles, teams will begin the sixth leg on Canada's favourite summertime adventure, The Amazing Race Canada.
Adam and Andrea won the last leg of the race, and will depart first at 9:02 PM.
ANDREA: Fly to our nation's capital, Ottawa, Ontario.
JON: Teams must now travel back home to Canada, to the capital of our home and native land, Ottawa, Ontario, where this July 1st we celebrated 150 years of confederation with a massive blow-out on Parliament Hill.
TRUDEAU: We love you, Canada! ANDREA: Caution, double U-turn ahead.
ADAM: We're starting this leg in first place.
ANDREA: I think now people are taking us seriously.
I don't know if that's a good thing.
There's definitely a target on our backs, especially if U-turns are coming up.
ADAM: Now it's time to go back home.
EBONIE: Fly to Ottawa, Ontario! [GIGGLING.]
ANDREA: We haven't come in first place yet, but this one is it.
ANDREA: Ah! EBONIE: [CHUCKLES.]
SAM: You have one loonie on your BMO CashBack MasterCard for this leg of the race.
Caution, double U-turn ahead.
PAUL: Oh, let's go.
SAM: A U-turn is a way to make another team do both detours.
So we're immediately thinking, like, "Game on!" [LAUGHTER.]
RYAN: Here we go, dude.
RYAN: Five teams have won five legs of the race so far.
The competition is tough.
KENNETH: Comin' in hot for that finish line, Jon! RYAN: Yeah.
KAREN: This way.
BERT: Ottawa! Maybe there'll be snow.
Ugh [LAUGHS.]
KOREY: Fly to our nation's capital, Ottawa, Ontario! IVANA/KOREY: O Canada! IVANA: I've been struggling the last couple of legs, but my back is finally feeling better.
Now it's our turn to get that first place.
KOREY: You can't be U-turned if you're in first place.
ADAM: Be on the look-out.
ANDREA: Yeah.
ANDREA: So our strategy for the double U-turn is to form an alliance.
We talked to Andrea and Ebonie and Sam and Paul because in the past we've gotten along with both of those teams.
EBONIE: Guys, we're working great as a team.
This is awesome.
PAUL: We're just wondering if we can write down the location of the deli we're going to.
SAM: Thanks, guys.
You're the best.
PAUL: We'll get you back.
ADAM: Concerning the U-turns, if one of us would get to the board first SAM: Yeah? ADAM: then we use up that space for any of the other three teams to save ourselves.
SAM: Yeah, I think so.
ANDREA: Okay.
All three teams decided not to U-turn each other, and to U-turn one of the other three teams.
ANDREA: Okay.
ADAM: Our goal is to get through the race one leg at a time.
And by making this alliance, it definitely helps us.
EBONIE: Top three! SAM: Alright.
JON: All teams are now travelling on the same flights from Bangkok, Thailand to Ottawa, Ontario.
When they arrive, they'll make their way to City Hall and find the mayor, the Honourable Jim Watson, and their next clue.
EBONIE: We're in Ottawa! Go, go, go, go! SAM: Taxi! IVANA: Taxi.
City Hall.
We're in a massive hurry.
KOREY: There's a good chance we might be in first place.
KOREY: Right here, right here, right here.
IVANA: He's right there.
MAYOR: Welcome to Ottawa! IVANA: Hi, how are you? MAYOR: Here's your next clue.
IVANA: Thank you very much.
MAYOR: Take care.
IVANA: Route info.
KOREY: O Canada! JON: Teams must make their way to Hog's Back Falls, where they'll find a fleet of the next generation 2018 Chevrolet Equinox True North Edition.
Using Chevrolet's surround vision technology, teams must park five vehicles to create one of the six letters that spell "Canada.
" JON: When all five cars have been parked correctly, they'll receive their next clue.
IVANA: Hi.
We're in a big rush now.
We're in a big rush.
RYAN: Ya! KENNETH: Woo! MAYOR: [Inaudible.]
Welcome to Ottawa.
KENNETH: Thanks, sir! RYAN: Thanks, buddy! MAYOR: Here's your next clue.
ANDRE: Thank you! EBONIE: Thank you so much! KENNETH: Let's go! EBONIE: Oh ya! RYAN: Taxi! KENNETH: Hog's Back Road, please.
KOREY: I think I see a IVANA: Oh, that's the flag, right there on the left.
KOREY: Yeah, there's the flag.
IVANA: We're first, Korey.
KOREY: Gotta pick a pylon, yeah? Grabbing a C! KOREY: In this challenge, we need to choose a letter, and use five Chevrolet Equinoxes to spell it out.
So, we end up choosing the letter "C.
" IVANA: Do the top part of the C first.
KOREY: Oh, this is easy.
We've got this.
KOREY: With surround-vision, I've got a perfect bird's-eye view of this car.
IVANA: A little to the left.
A little more, a little more, a little more.
Okay, next.
Let's move, let's move! RYAN: Let's go! KENNETH: Ya! IVANA: Give'r just got here.
RYAN: Oh, it's red for "D.
" KENNETH: Yes, get it in there.
RYAN: This is easy.
KENNETH: Fire it up.
RYAN: Can you just get that camera on? KENNETH: Yeah.
Maybe start with the farthest one.
EBONIE: We're doing A.
Okay, so white.
Let's go park here.
KENNETH: Look at the top.
RYAN: Okay, I think we're good.
KENNETH: Bang on, dude.
RYAN: Let's go.
Next vehicle.
EBONIE: We got this.
ANDREA: Alright, that's perfect.
SAM: Turn right up at that flag there.
BERT: I see it on the right.
ANDREA: Let's go, let's go.
ANDREA: Get a white car.
Get a white car.
KAREN: You've got an "A.
" Press the camera button, babe.
BERT: Cool.
KAREN: Beautiful, baby.
Let's do this! ADAM: All the teams are here, but there's still lots of cars to be parked.
SAM: Back up, back up.
Stop.
No! PAUL: What? Why? SAM: Your back right tire.
Let's go! Get in! KENNETH: Last one.
Okay, you're in line.
RYAN: Frickin' easy.
KENNETH: Just back it up nice, straight Nice and easy.
Okay.
RYAN: Yes, Kenny! Let's get out of here.
We need that U-turn.
ANDREA: [SIGHS.]
Last one.
That's perfect.
There we go.
RYAN: Give'r! Who's ready to let it ride? JON: For 140 years, the RCMP Musical Ride has been training their officers to perform beautifully choreographed drills and formations on horseback.
In this roadblock, one team member will saddle up and learn what it takes to perform with the men and women of the world-famous RCMP Musical Ride.
After finding the RCMP stables, one team member will be given a horse that they must carefully groom from front to back.
[HORSE NEIGHS.]
JON: Then, using this fully-dressed horse as a guide, racers must properly tack their steed to the precise standards of the RCMP.
Once they're ready to ride, they'll mount up, join the cavalry, and receive their next clue.
RYAN: I'll let it ride, dude! KENNETH: Let it all out! ANDREA: I'm gonna do it.
EBONIE: Follow Give'rs.
ANDREA: Yeah, for sure.
[LAUGHS.]
RYAN: I feel so good! We get ourselves into first place.
RYAN: Oh ya! Last one, last one! Park this Boom, done.
Woo! Let's go! ANDREA: Is this our last one? ADAM: Yeah.
ANDREA: Yes, good job! KOREY: Roadblock.
IVANA: You do it.
KOREY: Okay, I'll do it.
ANDREA: You wanna do it? ADAM: Okay, I'll do it.
ANDREA: Okay.
PAUL: This one's over.
This one's over.
I need to get over a little bit.
SAM: Okay, get in! PAUL: We're in last.
SAM: How is that possible? ANDREA: We're following Give'r.
EBONIE: We're following the Give'rs.
KENNETH: Ebonie and Andrea are always following us in vehicles.
RYAN: Those frickin' girls, man.
KENNETH: RCMP stables.
Ladies? EBONIE: Once again, boys! [LAUGHTER.]
KENNETH: Go, Ryan! You got this, dude! EBONIE: You're the best! [HORSES NEIGHING.]
RYAN: Gus, okay! [GUS NEIGHS.]
Gus is big.
Big horse.
RYAN: This horse, it's a proper RCMP horse.
First I gotta groom it, make sure it's nice and clean.
RYAN: Yeah, buddy.
You gotta impress the ladies.
[GUS NEIGHS.]
ANDREA: Oh, wow! Duncan.
I've always loved horses.
I think they're the most magnificent creatures.
OFFICER: One of the things we have to do, since obviously they can't reach and clean themselves, is we always clean their butt.
ANDREA: Okay.
OFFICER: Push it to one side or the other, whichever you're comfortable with.
ANDREA: And then inside here? OFFICER: Yeah.
ANDREA: I think he's liking it.
OFFICER: There you go.
Honestly I didn't mind it.
[LAUGHTER.]
OFFICER: Anywhere you see there's a bit of dirt or dust, and just to about right here.
RYAN: Okay.
OFFICER: I'll step out for you so you can get it there.
RYAN: Oof, I'll get in there, alright! [GUS NEIGHS.]
IVANA: There's the house, the red house.
So excited! I hope I can pet the pony too.
ANDREA: Look at them! They're so fancy! Good luck, Adam! ADAM: Thanks, Dre.
KOREY: That is a horse.
OFFICER: That is a horse.
KOREY: Nice! OFFICER: So you need to clean her behind.
KOREY: I knew it.
OFFICER: Yeah? [LAUGHS.]
KOREY: I figured! KOREY: Alright, Bev, we're about to get real close.
She's not really happy about this.
Oh, sorry, Bev! [BEV NEIGHS.]
[SIGHS.]
Okay.
ADAM: There you go, yep.
That's how William likes it.
Clockwise.
[LAUGHS.]
Okay, I got Gus's, you know his saddle here and some more accessories.
RYAN: For the second step, I have to tack up the horse, meaning I've gotta put all the accessories on it, and it has to be perfect.
The standards here are extremely high.
ANDREA: Ahh! I've never saddled a horse, and this is so heavy! Oh my god! [LAUGHS.]
I'm gonna try to slap that on his back.
Okay, wait.
Alright, alright.
PAUL: I think I see it.
RCMP Stables.
KAREN: There it is, RCMP.
So, we finally have arrived! RYAN: Oh, this covers this! RYAN: The frustrating part is you need to get all these different pieces in the correct order.
The blanket, the saddle.
There's a bunch of buckles and straps.
Just a bunch of stuff.
RYAN: Gus is thinkin', "Why are you taking so long, Ry?" [LAUGHS.]
Here we go, Duncan.
Inspection, please.
OFFICER: Okay, sorry, it's incorrect.
ANDREA: Thank you.
Oh What am I not seeing? I don't know! [LAUGHS.]
I don't know what I'm not seeing! I'm not seeing it.
I'm so not seeing it.
KAREN: A bum is a bum, whether you're a horse or a human.
Oh, I think it farted.
Like, actually air came out! Oh my gosh.
PAUL: That's gross.
KAREN: You look good, buddy! [HORSE NEIGHS.]
ANDREA: Ah, wait Right there.
It's to actually guide the horse.
I forgot this beautiful white rope.
I'm close.
I'm just getting on the straps.
All good, Gus.
You're lookin' good, buddy.
Can I get a check, please? OFFICER: Okay, good.
Congratulations.
You move on to the next step.
RYAN: Thank you so much, sir.
I really appreciate it.
OFFICER: You're welcome.
RYAN: Yes! I think Giver's just found theirs.
RYAN: Thanks, Gus! [GUS NEIGHS.]
Inspection, please! Congratulations.
You can move on to the next step.
ANDREA: Thank you, sir.
OFFICER: You're welcome.
ANDREA: Oh my god! RYAN: Okay.
How's it going? IVANA: That's Ryan.
KENNETH: Yes, Ryan! I can see you! Yeah, what a legend! RYAN: So, you guys get to cruise around these in Ottawa? RYAN: Sick! RYAN: Riding around on one of their horses was a true honour.
RYAN: Thank you, sir.
OFFICER: You're welcome.
RYAN: Really appreciate it.
OFFICER: Good luck.
RYAN: [CHUCKLES.]
ANDREA: Hi.
EBONIE: Yeah, that's Andrea! OFFICER: Is that your partner up there? ANDREA: Yeah.
[LAUGHS.]
Yee-haw! ANDREA: Thank you! OFFICER: You're welcome.
ANDREA: Thank you so much.
EBONIE: Bye, guys! Let's get to that U-turn board! RYAN: Give'r! KENNETH: Ya! RYAN: Detour! JON: A celebration of the arts are in full bloom in our nation's capital, and in this detour, teams will get a chance to Get the Picture or Tiptoe Through the Tulips.
Exploding with colour, Ottawa comes to life in the spring when over a million tulips begin to bloom all across the city.
Tiptoe Through the Tulips requires teams to make their way to Commissioner's Park, the home of the Canadian Tulip Festival.
Here, teams will build a cart, and recreate this colourful tulip display, celebrating Ottawa's official flower.
Once their carts are properly built, racers must search the park for 12 different-coloured bouquets.
Then, using the reference card as a guide, racers must place the proper-coloured bouquets in the corresponding coloured buckets.
Once they've perfectly replicated the floral display, Michel, the director of the Canadian Tulip Festival, will give them their next clue.
Collaborating with Canadian artists to showcase and rent their masterpieces to art lovers, the Art Bank houses over 17,000 original contemporary works of art.
JON: Get the Picture requires teams to make their way to the Canada Council Art Bank.
Here, teams will select an art collection binder containing 20 artists' names, along with corresponding serial numbers.
Teams must then use the information in the binders and the Art Bank database to find the exact location of the 20 works of art somewhere in this 36,000-square-foot warehouse.
They must then photograph each work and place it in their binder.
When their art collection is complete Rebecca, the curator of the Art Bank, will give them their next clue.
KENNETH: Let's go, let's go! RYAN: Okay, we're gonna do the Tiptoe Through the Tulips.
EBONIE: We choose tulips.
You were so good! ANDREA: Let's follow the Give'rs.
KENNETH: These girls, man.
ANDREA: They know that we're gonna follow them! EBONIE: We're gonna find you! [LAUGHTER.]
EBONIE: Oh my god! RYAN: They're so ridiculous! Go away! [HORSE NEIGHS.]
KAREN: Ooh, Viper.
You're a stinky boy.
We're almost there, buddy.
ADAM: Just trying to strap him in right now.
It's like putting a belt on after eating a big Italian meal.
[GROANS.]
Can I get a check? Congratulations.
Giddy-up! [HORSE NEIGHS.]
KOREY: It looks great.
Can I please get a check? OFFICER: Alright, good.
Congratulations, you can move on to the next step.
KOREY: Yes! Thank you so much.
I was trippin', playa! [LAUGHS.]
ANDREA: He looks like he's having so much fun! ADAM: This is very cool.
ANDREA: [GIGGLES.]
He's loving it.
He looks like a little kid! IVANA: [GASPS.]
Yes, yes! I see Korey! KOREY: Woo! Easy does it, girl.
Whoa, nelly Thank you.
Take care.
IVANA: Bye, guys! ANDREA: Tulips.
ADAM: Okay.
ADAM: How cool was that?! ANDREA: I wanna do it! IVANA: Tulips.
Let's find out where this is.
SAM: It seems like we've kind of left in the order that we came in.
Let's just hope people like us enough not to want to U-turn us.
Oh, come on, Paul.
EBONIE: We're going to the detour.
We're following the Give'rs.
Frig the girls, man.
They can screw off.
KENNETH: Nice one, dude.
Yes! EBONIE: Oh my god! RYAN: Remember, they don't know where they're going.
KENNETH: I know.
Exactly.
ANDREA: We'll just stop at an info place.
KENNETH: We gotta go back left, man.
I think we went too far.
BERT: I just hope that Karen's not too far behind.
SAM: Oh, man PAUL: I think I'm almost there.
I'll check a couple more things.
KAREN: Almost there! Almost there! This is the last piece.
Can I get a check, please? So Karen's getting a check Okay, good.
Congratulations.
KAREN: Thank you.
[SQUEALS.]
PAUL: Inspection, please! Okay, congratulations.
PAUL: Thank you so much.
OFFICER: Good luck.
KAREN: Through the Tulips or Get the Picture.
Tulips.
PAUL: Tulips! Excuse me, miss, do you have a moment to help us? SAM: What do you think is the fastest way to get PAUL: We wanna make sure we know exactly where we're going.
SAM: Okay, yeah, Paul, I can do it.
[EXHALES.]
Okay.
We are trying to get to a place called Commissioner's Park.
KOREY: I sure hope this is the right way.
KENNETH: That's problem with not having a phone, man.
ANDREA: Mm, yeah, we do not know where we're going.
ADAM: Yeah, I don't think we're going the right way, to be honest.
ANDREA: Hi, there.
We need directions to go to Commissioner's Park.
ANDREA: Ottawa is a small town, but a tricky town with a lot of small streets.
ANDREA: Thank you so much! Let's go plant some flowers.
SAM: So, this is Commissioner's Park on the left.
PAUL: Let's move, let's go.
No teams are here.
Everyone must have picked the other detour.
Let's go! Tulips, tulips, tulips, tulips, tulips! Okay, so we need to make one of these.
Over there, Sam! Oh my god, we have that whole thing? SAM: Let's do it.
SAM: For this detour, we need to correctly assemble the tulip cart and then completely mimic the example display.
SAM: Oh, this is easy, Paul.
PAUL: Are you sure? PAUL: Sam's better at assembling furniture.
PAUL: How do I use this thing? SAM: What do you mean? PAUL: Do you understand? SAM: Huh? PAUL: Do you understand, kind of? SAM: Hopefully.
PAUL: Just stay cool, calm and collected.
SAM: Yeah, I'm killing it.
PAUL: We're killing it.
Babe, we're a team, come on.
EBONIE: Okay, so this is where it's happening.
Okay.
BERT: Alright, your flower skills are gonna help us bang this out.
[LAUGHTER.]
ANDREA: So, this is the bottom part where we're gonna assemble.
ANDREA: I love putting furniture together.
It's like a hobby.
[LAUGHS.]
ANDREA: Okay, yeah, yeah.
EBONIE: It's good? BERT: This is like building by numbers, you know? Easy-peasy.
I do a lot of the fixing of stuff around the house.
I built a fence.
KAREN: [LAUGHS.]
BERT: I helped with the fence.
KAREN: You painted the fence.
BERT: I painted the fence.
KAREN: One coat only.
RYAN: Is that one of the carts? KENNETH: Yeah.
Everybody's here.
RYAN: We left the roadblock in first place, and now we're in fourth.
KENNETH: Let's go! Let's get 'er done.
PAUL: Giver's here.
Give'r just got here.
SAM: Okay, good.
RYAN: We just wanna make sure that we do one try and we get it right the first time because we know the U-turn board is coming up, so this is crucial, very crucial.
ANDREA: Sam and Paul Oh my god, and Andrea and Ebonie.
Oh my god.
Oh my god, Karen and Bert, Adam.
Okay, we have to hustle.
ADAM: Oh, man! ANDREA: My God, everyone picked this challenge.
Oh my god.
PAUL: We left the RCMP in last place, which means we must have made up a lot of time just on directions.
PAUL: Tight race over here.
ADAM: This is a fight for who's gonna get U-turned and who's not, okay? ANDREA: There are 1, 2, 3, 4 other teams here.
Who's missing? IVANA: My worry is that we've gone too far.
We didn't turn on the street that we were looking for.
I'm worried that we missed it.
KOREY: It's okay.
Oh, I found it on the map.
If we get on Queen Elizabeth, we are laughing.
We're getting close, I think Maybe three more pieces or so.
KAREN: So we've got just four pieces left, which is the roof.
EBONIE: Okay, let's put this bad boy on top.
Yes! We're killing it! PAUL: Yeah, that's good! That's it! The flowers now.
Okay, let's go, let's go, let's go! ANDREA: Let's get some flowers.
We just have to see what goes in what.
EBONIE: Colours, okay.
ANDREA: You have to match the buckets and the flowers.
EBONIE: The key to this challenge is attention to details.
EBONIE: I need all pink and all purple.
KAREN: We've gotta collect the flowers.
BERT: Yeah.
SAM: There, I got one! PAUL: Okay.
SAM: The tulips are scattered all around Commissioner's Park.
SAM: This is exhausting.
PAUL: There's another one.
Two teams are collecting right now.
KAREN: Flowers, flowers everywhere! There are the Chevys.
What a trip.
IVANA: What an annoying trip.
KOREY: It's right here! It's right here! IVANA: We're the last team to arrive.
How is this possible?! ANDREA: That's not it.
EBONIE: Okay.
I saw more over there.
That's not it! [SIGHS.]
BERT: We need one more.
What could we be missing? SAM: We're looking for one more.
PAUL: This race, like always, is super close.
PAUL: Scour, scour, scour BERT: Is that one over there? KAREN: We got that.
PAUL: What is this? SAM: Nope.
We've been around here so many times.
PAUL: All I can think about is that double U-turn ahead.
We're so close! Give it everything, babe.
In the middle, in the middle.
Right there.
BERT: Yeah, I see it too.
KAREN: Yes.
BERT: Let's go.
Okay.
Check, please! PAUL: Babe, focus on us.
BERT: Please, sir.
KAREN: Ten cents per tulip! BERT: We want some more.
KAREN: We need alms for the poor.
BERT: [LAUGHS.]
Congratulations! BERT/KAREN: Thank you! SAM: Karen and Bert just got it.
KAREN: Okay, route info.
Drive yourselves to ByWard Market.
JON: Teams must now make their way to the ByWard Market.
This massive market, home to farmers, merchants, and artists, is the cultural and culinary hub of downtown Ottawa.
Once here, teams will find the double U-turn, which gives two teams the opportunity to slow down two other teams by forcing them to complete both sides of the detour.
BERT: Okay, we're gone.
Let's go! KAREN: We leave the detour in first place! BERT: We just kicked some serious behind.
Didn't we, baby? KAREN: We tulipped it.
[LAUGHTER.]
PAUL: We've gotten all of them except one.
SAM: Oh my god! PAUL: Is that the one? SAM: Oh my god! SAM: It was right beside our cart.
SAM/PAUL: Check! SAM/PAUL: Ya! PAUL: Good job! Good job! PAUL: We would have been done so much faster if we got that last thing, but we're out second.
SAM: We need to get to that U-turn board.
KAREN: So, we're looking for ByWard Market! There, there, there! BERT: What are we gonna do? KAREN: I'm a bit nervous to U-turn anybody because it's just not in my nature.
I feel that we should run our own race and not be trying to put others down.
Ultimately, we've decided not to U-turn at this time.
We're just gonna move forward with our race.
Route info Drive yourselves to the Canadian Museum of History and search inside the main entrance for your next clue.
KAREN: Let's go.
BERT: Okay.
KAREN: Now we just need to figure out where we're going.
This is George Street.
BERT: Okay, go left on George, go right, and then um how crazy is that? No comment.
EBONIE: Oh, there's buckets there! Oh my god! These are the ones that we're looking for! Check, please! ANDREA: There's only two teams that left for now, and we're having ours checked.
DIRECTOR: Bravo! ANDREA/EBONIE: Merci! Merci! DIRECTOR: Bonne chance! ANDREA: I think we need to ask someone for directions.
Downtown looks like EBONIE: This way? ANDREA: [SIGHS.]
Let's go down that way.
Okay, ByWard's down there to the left.
Yeah, I see Beavertails.
PAUL: Let's go! SAM: Let's go! SAM/PAUL: Ya! [LAUGHTER.]
PAUL: Blank U-turn board, this is the greatest feeling ever! SAM: We want to U-turn a strong team, not only to get them eliminated, but to also save Adam and Andrea and Andrea and Ebonie.
PAUL: Okay.
SAM: So, we can do whatever we want to any of the remaining teams.
Not only to get them eliminated, but to also save Adam and Andrea and Andrea and Ebonie.
PAUL: Sorry, boys, but we're gonna have to U-turn you.
The Give'r boys.
SAM: Woo-hoo! PAUL: That feels good! SAM: Oh my god! We've been waiting six legs to do that.
[LAUGHTER.]
ANDREA: Let's go.
Here we need just purple.
ADAM: Top white, this is purple.
ANDREA: Just get a check.
Can we have a check, please? ADAM: Yes! ANDREA: Oh my god! Thank you! DIRECTOR: Congratulations! ADAM: Thank you, thank you! KENNETH: Come on, dude, we gotta move! We gotta keep moving here.
RYAN: We need to focus as well.
ANDREA: We're just hoping that nobody U-turned us.
That could break us.
BERT: We're gonna cross the bridge.
Bridge closed.
BERT: What?! KAREN: Argh! That's the museum? SAM: Yeah, it's right on our left here.
PAUL: It's right there, babe.
Route info How Canadian are you? JON: The Canadian Museum of History is a sprawling, 270,000-square-foot space that features 20,000 years of human history and over 4 million artifacts.
In this 150 challenge, teams will immerse themselves in a brand-new exhibit that has been 15,000 years in the making.
This is the Canadian History Hall.
After taking a moment to study our country's history on display, each racer will be given different versions of the Canadian Citizenship Test.
The 20-question, multiple-choice test is one of the final steps for anyone before they become a Canadian citizen.
Once they've scored at least 15 out of 20 to pass the test, Andre, the citizenship officer, will give them their next clue.
PAUL: This is beautiful.
SAM: Yeah, it's unbelievable.
SAM: I think the fact that we have people immigrating to Canada every day is what makes it such an amazing place.
PAUL: There's a lot of information here.
PAUL: To pass this test is the last step involved for someone to become a citizen of Canada.
SAM: That's a big deal.
PAUL: Let's go write the test.
SAM: Can you do this? You can do this, right? PAUL: What do you mean? Of course I can do it.
SAM: Okay.
Just, I need you to focus.
PAUL: I'm going to, but don't ask if I can do it.
SAM: Okay.
PAUL: I have to do it.
Of course I can do it.
SAM: Oh yeah, this is easy.
PAUL: I don't know PAUL: I don't love tests, especially multiple-choice tests.
There's questions like what year was the CN Tower built? I don't know.
SAM: I, since a very young age, have been so dedicated to achievement.
There was a time in grade 5 where I got a 6 out of 10 on a test.
I lost my entire recess because I was bawling.
PAUL: It's harder than I thought.
SAM: Hm.
KENNETH: Done.
RYAN: Okay, I've got these two.
Keep them in your order.
KENNETH: Yup.
IVANA: This is it, this is it, this is it.
KOREY: Nice! IVANA: Check, please! KOREY: Check! IVANA: It's gotta be it.
No.
KOREY: What is going on? IVANA: It's the flowers.
KENNETH/RYAN: Can we get a check, please? Hopefully, one and done.
KENNETH: Oh, yes! DIRECTOR: Congratulations! KENNETH/RYAN: Woo! RYAN: Yes! KENNETH/RYAN: Thank you, sir! IVANA: Orange, yellow KOREY: That's right.
IVANA/KOREY: Check, please! IVANA: We need that clue right now.
Great job! KOREY: Oh my gosh! IVANA: Yes, yes! KOREY: Caution, double U-turn ahead.
Here we go.
Of course.
IVANA: Let's go.
Come on.
RYAN: As long as we get there and don't get turned around, very crucial right now.
I don't wanna see our picture on there at all.
ANDREA: So, if we wanna get here, ByWard Market ANDREA: "Lost" is our middle name today.
EBONIE: Yeah.
MAN: The best way is to follow this road.
ANDREA: Right MAN: This way.
ANDREA: This way.
ANDREA: It's frustrating because it's a double U-turn coming up.
ANDREA: We have a long way to go, girl.
EBONIE: I'm just really hoping that our alliance gets there first.
ANDREA: Do you see Beavertail? ADAM: Oh, it's right there.
ADAM: Sam and Paul U-turned Kenneth and Ryan.
We have to do what we said we were gonna do.
ANDREA: Yeah.
Ivana and Korey? ADAM: Yeah.
ANDREA: How come the other girls didn't do what they said, though? ADAM: Andrea and Ebonie didn't U-turn Korey and Ivana.
ANDREA: Which they said they were gonna do.
ADAM: Yeah.
Maybe they're not here yet.
ANDREA: No, they left a long time ago.
ADAM: So, what do you wanna do, then? ANDREA: Andrea and Ebonie left the tulip challenge way ahead of us.
They're long gone; they've passed the U-turn board and they haven't U-turned anybody.
ANDREA: They didn't do what they said.
ADAM: So let's go.
ANDREA: So we figure let's not put a target on ourselves.
Let's keep going with the race.
We're not gonna U-turn anybody.
ANDREA: Maybe we should have U-turned.
ANDREA: What do you think? ADAM: Too late.
ANDREA: They left a while ago, but they could have gotten lost.
Oh Bad decision on our part? ADAM: [SIGHS.]
I'm gonna let Karen kind of instruct me because she has good study habits.
She was an honour student, whereas I just passed school.
KAREN: Alright, let's go take the test, love.
BERT: It's a 20-question test.
If we can get this done, then we can be first.
BERT: It feels like a trap.
MAN: Thank you very much.
Thank you for your test book.
Did you have "What animal is on the quarter?" PAUL: Oh my god, no.
I had a toonie.
SAM: What'd you put? PAUL: Polar bear.
SAM: Yeah, good.
MAN: Sam, congratulations.
You have passed the test.
SAM: [LAUGHS.]
MAN: Paul, you have failed.
PAUL: Who's in charge of healthcare and education? What part of government? SAM: Provincial.
PAUL: Okay, I didn't get that right.
Sorry, this is hard.
KOREY: ByWard Market! IVANA: Good, good, good, good, good.
KENNETH: We're comin' for ya, U-turn board! Let's go.
IVANA: [SCREAMING.]
We're not on there! We're not on there! KOREY: There is still a spot on the U-turn board.
Who are we gonna U-turn? We gotta U-turn someone.
Andrea and Ebonie.
KOREY: Andrea and Ebonie, are you sure? They're the strongest team.
KOREY: Let's do it.
IVANA: At this point, it's us or them, and we're sorry, but we gotta go.
RYAN: Us, and Andrea and Ebonie are both getting U-turned.
We need to finish this challenge before them, and get to Jon.
KENNETH: Catch up! Let's go, Ryan! IVANA: [LAUGHING.]
Let's go! KENNETH: We just have to beat them in this challenge, and we can, Ryan.
RYAN: There's my brother! Johnny! Ya! RYAN: Now, all of the sudden, my brother, Johnny RYAN: There he is! RYAN: He lives in Ottawa.
RYAN: Ya! JOHNNY: Ya! RYAN: But we are here in a race, so we gotta keep going.
KENNETH: We gotta go! Love you, dude! RYAN: He's been a mentor to me my whole life.
RYAN: This is a sign from the heavens KENNETH: Dude.
RYAN: that we're not gonna get eliminated from this race.
KENNETH: Oh my gosh, Johnny Mustard.
We just saw Johnny Mustard in downtown Ottawa.
ANDREA: Musee Canadian de l'histoire.
Canadian Museum of History.
ADAM: Where? ANDREA: There.
ANDREA: I'm blanking out.
ADAM: Just relax.
ANDREA: So, we show up to the museum.
I see that Andrea and Ebonie actually aren't there.
They must have gotten lost.
ADAM: Andrea, breathe, please.
ANDREA: We should have just U-turned ADAM: Andrea ADAM: I'm trying to calm her down.
We still have a race to run.
ADAM: You'll feel worse if we go home.
SAM: Paul's writing again.
Hopefully he gets it.
MAN: Thank you very much.
You have failed the test.
MAN: Thank you.
Karen, congratulations.
You have passed the test.
KAREN: Thank you.
Bert, unfortunately, you have failed.
PAUL: [LAUGHS.]
I feel ya.
KAREN: I did not know Bert when we were in school.
Bert would have been the guy that was hanging out at the lockers, like this.
This is what it gets you.
MAN: Thank you very much.
ANDREA: I think I did horribly at the test.
I've been in the arts for so many years, I don't even remember writing a test.
So I don't think I did that well.
Congratulations, you passed.
ANDREA: Oh [WHISPERS.]
What?! MAN: You did it.
ANDREA: I'm so Canadian! MAN: You did very well.
ANDREA: Oh my god! Ha! MAN: So please have a seat over there.
ANDREA: I will.
ANDREA: I aced the test.
ADAM: [LAUGHS.]
Yeah.
ANDREA: That's a first.
I wasn't a straight-A student.
But I wasn't the worst student either.
I didn't go to class much.
Adam, congratulations.
You have passed your test.
Here's your next clue.
ANDREA: Thank you.
It's actually kind of like me in high school, then.
I didn't study but still passed.
ANDREA: [LAUGHS.]
Make your way on foot to the museum's upper terrace and search for Jon and your next pit stop.
JON: Teams must now race through the massive museum and search the surrounding park for the upper terrace.
Today, this picture-perfect view of the Parliament buildings will act as the sixth pit stop on The Amazing Race Canada.
The last team to check in here may be eliminated.
ANDREA: Let's go.
ADAM: Upper terrace Down there, and then go outside.
Let's go! ANDREA: Hey! ADAM: Hi! ANDREA: Hi, hi, hi! JON: Adam and Andrea, you're team number one! ADAM: Oh my god! [LAUGHS.]
JON: As the winners of this leg of the race, you have won a five-city, cross-Canada trip to keep this adventure going.
ADAM: Oh, baby! [LAUGHS.]
ANDREA: Oh, man! ADAM: Back to back wins, that sounds amazing.
[LAUGHTER.]
JON: It's my pleasure to introduce to you the Senior Citizenship Judge of Canada, Renata Brown, who will now reaffirm your Canadian citizenship.
JUDGE BROWN: I affirm ADAM/ANDREA: I affirm JUDGE BROWN: That I will be faithful ADAM/ANDREA: That I will be faithful ADAM: We're very proud to be Canadian.
ANDREA: We're so lucky that we had the opportunity to be in Ottawa.
ADAM: To do this together.
ADAM/ANDREA: And fulfill my duties JUDGE BROWN: as a Canadian citizen.
ADAM/ANDREA: as a Canadian citizen.
Just no matter where I go in Canada, I feel at home.
EBONIE: God, please, please, please, please, don't be on the board.
ANDREA: Please, don't be on the U-turn board.
EBONIE: Argh! We've been U-turned! ANDREA: Yeah.
It sucks.
It sucks big-time.
It feels like you've just started the race all over again.
EBONIE: Let's go! [SIGHS.]
KENNETH: Right up on the right.
Beautiful.
Let's get in there.
Let's do this, Ryan! I don't think they're here, dude.
We arrive at the art gallery, and we see that we are the first ones there.
No sign of Andrea and Ebonie yet.
KENNETH: Burtynsky, Edward.
We have to search through this database to find a number of different pieces of art.
RYAN: Right here.
KENNETH: 154 perfect.
KENNETH: For us right now, this is all about getting in our zone, and getting it done, one time.
No mistakes.
RYAN: This one.
This place is sick.
KENNETH: Yeah.
This is really cool.
RYAN: This is beautiful, man.
RYAN: We are just rolling through it.
RYAN: Boom.
KENNETH: That's what's up.
We're not goin' home.
Not today! KOREY: There's a lot to take in here.
IVANA: I cannot wait to tell my parents that I also had to take the test.
IVANA: I was born in Bosnia.
I was only 12 years old when I moved to Canada.
I know that my parents took this test to grant us citizenship IVANA: So it's really kind of sweet for me to be here, to be doing this today.
To my mom and dad, volim vas puno.
I neznate koliko znaAèite meni.
MAN: Thank you very much.
Paul, I have some news for you.
PAUL: Yeah.
You have failed the test again.
PAUL: I don't know what I need to do to get this done.
How many oceans border? SAM: Three.
PAUL: Okay, I got that.
Um how many what are the Maritimes? SAM: Come on, babe.
[WHISPERING INDISTINCTLY.]
MAN: Thank you very much.
You have failed your test.
KOREY: Okay.
Paul, you have failed the test.
Bert, you have failed.
Almost every single team has had trouble with this test, and we're all Canadians.
We're all here; we are all Canadian citizens.
BERT: It's challenging because I don't know what I don't know.
Get more right.
BERT: Yeah.
KAREN: Think less wrong, get more right.
PAUL: Hi, I'd like a check.
Congratulations.
Here's your next clue.
SAM: [LAUGHS.]
KAREN: [CLAPPING.]
PAUL: I'm Canadian now? SAM: Oh, yay! SAM: My boyfriend is not good at history, but he's very good at many other things.
PAUL: Yeah.
SAM: We gotta get outside.
PAUL: Okay.
SAM: Woo-hoo! Hoo-hoo! Is that you, Jon? Woo! JON: Sam and Paul.
PAUL: Yeah.
You're team number two.
SAM: Ya! [LAUGHS.]
JON: Good job, boys.
PAUL: Thank you.
JON: Did you know, Paul, that if you had have got it wrong one more time, she'd have been revoking your citizenship today? SAM: Oh my god! PAUL: Ah, she's too nice.
JON: She is.
[LAUGHTER.]
We're so lucky, especially being gay men, that we're allowed to do this, and be part of a country where everyone is so accepting.
It's just I feel like the luckiest guy alive.
I don't even know where I'd be without you, so PAUL: Thanks.
KENNETH: We got one photo left.
Good to go.
RYAN: Oh ya! KENNETH: Yes.
RYAN: One more.
KENNETH: This side, Ryan.
RYAN: Where are the girls? KENNETH: 20 pictures.
Can we please get a check? Congratulations.
RYAN: Thank you.
KENNETH: Thanks so much.
KENNETH: We get our check, and in walk in Andrea and Ebonie.
KENNETH: Ladies.
RYAN: Too late, ladies! ANDREA: Argh, this sucks! EBONIE: We know we're last at this point.
But it's not over until it's over.
ANDREA: Rack 171.
Let's go.
EBONIE: If you give up in life, you get nowhere.
ANDREA: We just want to get everything done.
That's what we promised each other, and that's what we're gonna do.
EBONIE: Okay.
ANDREA: Let's do it.
BERT: Alright, let's give her a go.
MAN: Bert, you have failed the test.
BERT: Ohh! KENNETH: Ya! Let's do this! RYAN: Here we go.
We're citizens of Canada.
BERT: It sounds like Team Give'r is making their way in.
RYAN: Thank you.
MAN: Thank you for your test booklet.
Please wait here while we grade your test.
IVANA: Okay.
Thank you.
KOREY: I'm pretty confident.
MAN: Korey, Ivana, congratulations.
IVANA: Yes! MAN: You have passed.
IVANA: I'm Canadian! Ah Let's get outside! KOREY: Let's go, Let's go.
Let's do this! BERT: It's very, very challenging.
I don't like being the one to hold us back.
Bert, congratulations.
You have passed the test.
BERT: Well, I'm embarrassed to be in this position.
Even getting it right still feels like a loss.
BERT: Let's get this day over with! KOREY: O Canada! IVANA: What a backdrop! Wow! JON: Korey and Ivana you guys are team number three.
IVANA: Okay, okay! Okay, okay! We'll take it, we'll take it! JON: Come on in, Karen and Bert.
You guys are team number four.
Wow, I barely made it.
[LAUGHTER.]
JUDGE BROWN: You're here now.
Congratulations.
BERT: Yeah, it feels good.
ANDREA: Awesome! Let's get it checked.
We're looking for the lady to hopefully tell us that we got it.
EBONIE: It's not over! Come on! EBONIE: So, right now the goal is just to stay in the race, no matter what our position is, just stay in the race.
RYAN: I hate tests! MAN: Thank you.
RYAN: Thank you.
RYAN: I feel like I'm back in school.
MAN: Congratulations, Kenneth, you have passed.
KENNETH: That's awesome.
Thank you.
I feel like a Canadian citizen.
MAN: Ryan, unfortunately, you have failed.
RYAN: No worries.
KENNETH: You got it, Ryan.
MAN: Welcome ANDREA: Thank you.
MAN: to the Canadian History Hall.
EBONIE: Let's just try the test.
RYAN: Andrea and Ebonie walked in.
They finished the detour really fast.
I'm feeling the pressure.
ANDREA: We can do this.
EBONIE: [WHISPERING.]
I don't know the answers! MAN: Thank you very much for your test booklet.
RYAN: I am just praying that this is A-okay, and Team Give'r can get on out of here.
Congratulations, Ryan.
You passed.
RYAN: Yes! KENNETH: Nice, dude, nice.
KENNETH: The upper terrace? We know where that is.
RYAN: Right there.
KENNETH: We know where that is! EBONIE: [SIGHS.]
[LAUGHTER.]
Kenneth and Ryan you're team number five.
KENNETH/RYAN: Ya! [LAUGHTER.]
RYAN: We could not be more stoked that we're still in this race.
And we're not going anywhere.
KENNETH: Ya! EBONIE: Jon Oh my god.
ANDREA: It does kind of hurt, you know? You always want to do your best and hear that you've done great and that you're moving on, but at a certain point you have to kind of accept what your fate is.
Andrea and Ebonie you are the last team to arrive.
ANDREA/EBONIE: Yeah.
JON: Ladies, this is a non-elimination leg and you are still in this race.
EBONIE: [SCREAMING.]
Oh my god! Oh my god! [CRYING.]
I was sure this was it! Holy crap! JON: Because you ladies were last today, you will have to complete a speed bump somewhere on the next leg of the race.
ANDREA: Oh my god, we're saved again.
EBONIE: We are super lucky.
We are gonna race like our lives depend on it.
EBONIE: I can't believe we're safe! [LAUGHTER.]
JON: Next time on The Amazing Race Canada SAM/PAUL: Woo! JON: Teams travel back to Newfoundland and Labrador, where alliances crumble.
ANDREA: I never thought you guys were behind us.
EBONIE: That's a lame excuse.
ANDREA: Yeah.
EBONIE: It almost cost us our race.
ANDREA: Okay, girls.
JON: The competition amps up KOREY: Go, go, go, go! JON: as a detour leaves teams adrift.
KENNETH: Whoa, whoa, whoa! SAM: Interesting tactic! PAUL: Oh ya! JON: The roadblock forces them to stand up and deliver ANDREA: So, uh Oh, boy.
BERT: Tough crowd here in Corner Brook.
JON: And the first faceoff of the season threatens to dramatically alter the race.
SAM: This is going to change everything.
JON: For more info on the racers and to join race play, head to ctv.
