The Glee Project (2011) s01e08 Episode Script

Believability

- So here's what you missed on the glee project.
It is so on.
First lindsay kissed a boy and made him cry.
- The kiss between him and lindsay makes me so jealous.
- During sexuality week, sam smoldered hard At anything that moved.
It was all a bit too steamy for saintly cameron.
- [laughs.]
- In the end, he sacrificed himself - Maybe this isn't for me.
- And saved his best friend damian to live another day.
Talk about the luck of the irish.
Now only five contenders remain as they compete For a seven-episode guest-starring role on glee.
And that's what you missed so far on SINC: -THE TUUNZ- Here, There, Everywhere! - [laughs.]
oh! - Yay! - Yeah, finally! - Are we singing the whole song? - We're singing the whole song.
- Oh, I'm so excited! - Ooh, I'll let you.
So this week's homework assignment is true colors By cyndi lauper.
I think that singing the whole song Will be vocally more challenging Than singing a tiny part.
It's gonna be different but I'm very excited.
- can't remember when I last saw you laughing - The dynamics have changed a lot, you know, obviously.
Cameron's left and, you know, he was my best mate, of course, So I don't feel I can talk to any of the guys The way I could talk to cameron.
You know, we're all friends, but it's beginning to feel More like a competition.
- Things are getting close to the end, And now I have the drive to win this competition Like no other drive I've ever had in my life.
- I kind of like the freedom of picking a girls' song, though, And being able to mess with it, you know? I've been here for eight weeks now.
Never even done a last-chance performance Or been in the bottom three.
I think the only thing I'm thinking is, What are we trying to make people believe? I feel very believable today.
The only question I keep asking myself is, Am I trying to make them believe What they want me to make them believe? You guys want to go practice? - Yep.
[school bell rings.]
- This homework assignment is amazing.
I love the song.
We're gonna blow the guest star away.
I'm excited for whoever it's gonna be.
- Oh! - [laughs.]
- Aah! [clapping.]
- Hi, guys.
How are you? - So robert rolls into the choir room With jenna ushkowitz.
She's been with glee since the beginning, And I'm really stoked, and might I add, She looks beautiful in person.
- I'd like to introduce jenna ushkowitz, Who plays tina on glee.
- Hi, guys.
How are you? I've heard so much about you guys.
Congratulations for making it this far.
- Thank you so much.
- So this week's theme is believability, And this week's challenges are gonna be all about Taking on character, emotion, and story.
Speaking of which, jenna, you play someone Who's very different from yourself.
- Of course, this is tina.
This is not me.
Um, you have to really pull from your life, your personal life, To create a character.
- The song we're singing today, true colors, Jenna sang on glee, So I think she's the perfect mentor To help us connect with our inner emotion.
- This song is very important to me.
I love this song.
I think it's just a really, really beautiful song To sing to a friend or to somebody very special.
I sang it to my friends in the glee club.
- Lindsay, you're up first.
- Good luck, everyone.
I can't wait to hear you sing.
[intro to true colors.]
- you with the sad eyes don't be discouraged oh, I realize - it's hard to take courage in a world full of people you can lose sight of it all and darkness still inside you make you feel so small - show me a smile then don't be unhappy can't remember when I last saw you laughing if this world makes you crazy and you've taken all you can bear - you call me up because you know I'll be there and I'll see your true colors shining yeah, yeah your true colors - and that's why I love you so don't be afraid - to let them show your true colors - true colors - are beautiful like a rainbow [applause.]
- yay.
So good.
Thank you.
- So, what do you think, jenna? - You guys were amazing.
You were so great.
Alex, your voice is incredible.
I was very captivated by you.
- Thank you.
- Damian, it was-- it was dreamy.
[laughs.]
it was so sweet And just so heartfelt.
- Thanks.
- Samuel, awesome.
It was such a strong choice.
Your intensity, it was just so spot-on, So it was really, really great.
- Thank you so much.
- Sam is a good actor, But there's really only oe That he makes.
Just kind of aLook.
Kind of just squints and stares at you intensely, Which is, you know, great for certain things, And then for others, it's not so awesome.
- Lindsay, you are a wonderful actress And it was such a sweet, beautiful rendition of the song.
It was really, really great.
- Thank you.
- And hannah, you sounded incredible.
So, just joyous and I could tell, like, It was very specific When you were trying to cheer somebody up.
You just put a smile on my face.
It was wonderful.
It was a really, really, really tough choice.
Um, but hannah, it worked.
'cause I'm picking hannah.
- Oh, my god.
- [laughs.]
- yay! - It was awesome.
I can't wait to work with you.
- Oh, thanks.
This is my first one.
This is really cool.
- Yay! - Oh! So, since I win the homework assignment, I get a mentoring session with jenna, and I am pumped.
Um, I think it's really, really going to help me out this week.
- So this week's big group number is - Paramore's the only exception.
- Oh! - Oh, my god.
- It's one of my favorites, for sure.
- I love that song.
- This video is about that very painful feeling That almost every high school student has experienced-- Being in love with someone who doesn't know you exist.
- Mm.
- Mm.
- I had a thing for damian in the beginning.
I know that there's, like, nothing that's going to happen Just because I know that he just sees me as a friend.
So this--this is definitely something I can relate to.
- There won't be choreography this week.
It's all about your vocals and acting skills.
- I do believe that I am a believable actress, And I've been complimented on my subtle acting, And I just hope that that trickles on into this week.
- You guys were amazing.
Thank you so much.
Hannah, I will see you soon.
- See you later, guys.
[applause.]
- bye.
- Whoo! - [sighs.]
- Hannah, girl.
I'm a little upset that there's no choreography, Because I'm a mover, I'm a shaker.
- I'm so sad I'm not doing floor work.
Man! - I think this week will be the hardest acting challenge We've ever had throughout the competition.
Let's--as if we were being able to pick Our own person that we were in love with, A friendship, who would you pick? - I'd pick hannah.
- I, honestly, though, I think that if I got you, I would--not that I'm, like, not okay with playing it, Like, girl on girl, whatever, like, 'cause I'm cool with that.
- I would make it more friendship.
- But, I think, yeah, like, You would be the cool, popular girl And I'm just like, ehhh, Carrying my books to math class, Like, I really wish I was her friend, wahh.
- You know, honestly, I'm ready, I'm ready to hit on a girl After last week.
- Hannah, because-- - I picked hannah.
- Because I love her.
Because I love her but she doesn't know I exist, so - [snickers.]
true.
[laughs.]
- [laughs.]
[school bell rings.]
- Hello.
- Hi.
- This song is going to be a challenge for these contenders.
I'm gonna try to get as much range in their performances As I possibly can.
- when I was younger I saw my daddy cry - I don't know, I just need to hear A little bit more, um, pain, I guess.
I don't feel like you're telling me a story yet.
- my daddy cry - oh.
- and curse at the wind - oh, yes.
Yes, yes, yes.
- Thanks.
- Did you feel it? - Yeah.
- you are the only exception - You're just pushing really hard.
Can you try one that's just more smooth? - oh, and I'm on my way to believing - That was totally right.
Now do it with more confidence.
- Cool.
- I felt like you were, "oh, am I right? Am I right? I'm not sure.
" - Yeah.
- So tell me about, How are you gog to convey the story? - I'm kind of getting to the head space When my father died.
[crying.]
I'm sorry.
[sniffling.]
I'm sorry.
- No, don't be sorry.
- There's just so much pain that I've always held back And I've just never wanted to bring up or use.
[sniffles.]
- It's something that I don't think You ever can really get over 100%.
You just have to live with it, And you're doing that.
But I think it is important that you're letting it out.
- Being that my father died when I was six years old, I never had a male influence in my life all the time.
I'm really just feeling every bit of emotion That I've ever felt of longing to have a father, And hopefully it's coming across in my vocals.
and that was the day when I promised I'd never sing of love if it does not exist - Ah.
- Ah.
- You're getting a believability for sure.
I'm almost kind of speechless about alex.
He's never given such a heartfelt And simple performance before.
It was magical.
- I just started to cry and break down, And I couldn't stop, and I started shaking, And I didn't know what to do.
And she just came and started talking to me, And it just made everything feel better, Because she always knows what to say.
- Yeah.
- Well, I'm proud of you.
- Yeah.
- Thanks.
- Hello.
- Hi.
- Let's, um, do a run-through and see what we can get.
- leave me with some kind of proof it's not a dream oh - How are you doing? - I'm fine.
- Uh-oh.
- Sorry.
[sniffling.]
I'm fine.
- You are? - Mm-hmm.
- What are you thinking about? - Home.
- Thinking about the things you left behind.
- Yeah.
- And is it worth it? - It is.
- So go ahead and let it out.
- I've got a tight grip on reality but I can't - I don't know, I just feel like Lindsay is forcing emotional drama Instead of letting it happen naturally.
Got it.
- Thank you.
- Thank you.
- You're awesome.
- Did she just say, "you're awesome"? - I'm sure she was talking to you.
[laughs.]
- No, no, no, I know she was talking to me, But I know she didn't mean it.
That's what I'm getting at.
- Oh.
- I have felt on more than one occasion That she's not being 100% real.
- That's emotional.
- Yeah? - Yeah.
I don't know.
I just talked about how I do miss home And, like, I miss being able to talk to my mom, you know, And, like, the people that I love, And what you sacrifice to be at a place like this And for your career and it was just heavy.
[school bell rings.]
- I'm supposed to be in love with alex, And damian is sitting, like, right in front of alex, So I'm getting a little bit distracted.
- I just wish it was making me feel something.
[school bell rings.]
- What's up, gang? How's everything? Good? What's up, alex? All right, so this is the library.
Hannah, you're gonna be over there.
- Okay.
- There's definitely this side of me That's nervous about this week.
This is the first time I've ever really been examined As an actor, which is crazy to even say, 'cause I've never even considered myself an actor And it is freaky, but at the same time, I know that freaking out And letting the nerves get the best of me Is just gonna make my performance worse.
- I think this could be the best big group number yet.
In this video, each contender is singing to another contender, So hannah is longing for alex, who is longing for damian, Who is longing for lindsay, who is longing for samuel Who is longing for hannah.
I love the fact That this is gonna be done so much in close-up, So we're really going to be able to analyze Their acting and their screen presence And I happen to love the song, so - Here we go, and playback, please.
[intro to the only exception.]
- I'm supposed to be in love with alex, And damian is sitting, like, right in front of alex, So I'm getting a little bit distracted.
- Cut.
- my daddy cr-- - One more time.
- You know what, hannah? You know what I mean? - Yeah.
- Cool.
- I don't want to focus on that.
I want to be focusing on the competition And the fact that I won the homework assignment.
Jenna says, do every performance like it's my last.
- You're here for a reason.
- Yeah.
- You know, just stick with that And sing like it is your last time.
- oh - Yeah.
That was so good.
Okay, good.
- Thanks.
- All right.
See, I'm glad we did that because-- - Yeah.
- There's--they're just "ohs" but they're "ohs.
" - Yeah, like, I want you so bad.
- Yeah.
Just go for--you don't have to be afraid of it at all.
Just use it and the emotion behind will-- Will change your vocals completely.
- Here we go.
And playback, please.
- as he tried to reassemble it - That was so much better.
- Cool, thanks.
- and that was the day when I promised - I'm kind of already in character.
I'm thinking of my father, and I feel like Just being in this mindset will help me be believable.
- Alex, he seems like a little bit too down.
It doesn't feel like love.
It feels like depression or something.
- He's pining after his dad.
- He's pining after his dad.
And I mean, I guess, the truth is, No matter what they think, You as an audience have to believe He's pining after damian.
- So you love damian.
We gotta see that without singing it.
You ready? - Good? - Yeah.
[intro to the only exception.]
- and my mama swore she would never let herself - oh, that was better.
- forget - Oh, that was great.
- Cut.
- Cut! - I know.
- I didn't thinkhe could do.
- I am really nervous about the big group performance.
I'm a person who cannot sit still.
I have to do something.
You know, I just have so much movement in me.
You know, not in a good way.
I can't dance.
And knowing that the judges are sitting, Looking at a close-up, makes me nervous.
I just hope to god my eyebrows don't start dancing.
- And playback, please.
- you are the only exception you are the only exception - So this is what's happening.
you are - I'm gonna tell him.
- Absolutely.
Sure.
- And playback.
- I know you're leaving in the morning when you wake up - I think lindsay's performance is really nice.
I just wish it was making me feel something.
- Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
- Cut.
- Cut.
- One more time.
- Lindsay, we need a little more-- We need a little more twinkle.
Okay? - Yeah.
- It's there, but we need just a-- - A little more.
I'm feeling kind of anxious Because it is kind of just us, Essentially by ourselves, with our own close-ups, Kind of in our faces and kind of intense.
And it is nerve-racking beca+'e this is a competition.
- Cool.
Let's go again.
- This is what I want to do with my life.
Cameras everywhere.
Makeup chicks just like, le-dah dah dah.
Life is good.
- Samuel's up now, so this is the first time That he can't fall back on the bad boy/cool guy look.
- Mm-hmm.
- Mm-hmm.
- He has to really, like, be vulnerable.
So I'm gonna go see right now.
- Cool.
- Good luck.
- All right.
- you are the only exception - Samuel is definitely simple.
- you are the only exception - Cut, cut, cut, cut, cut.
I think that if, um, She is somebody that you're really longing for, You wouldn't be as confident As to just stare through her.
- Okay.
- Maybe one where you're kind of, like, Almost--almost a little nervous.
- I hope that he can incorporate Some more vulnerability Or a sense of longing into that performance.
This was one of the more difficult big group numbers.
Since acting is all about connecting to the camera, The contenders had to convey emotions Through subtle performances.
Now we will have to watch the video To decide who will be performing for ryan.
- Cue playback, please.
[beeps.]
[intro to the only exception.]
- when I was younger I saw my daddy cry and curse at the wind he broke his own heart as I watched as he tried to reassemble it - and my mama swore she would never let herself forget and that was the day when I promised I'd never sing of love if it does not exist - but darling you are the only exception you are the only exception you are the only exception you are the only exception - oh oh - I've got a tight grip on reality but I can't let go of what's in front of me here I know you're leaving in the morning when you wake up leave me with some kind of proof it's not a dream oh - you are the only exception you are the only exception - you are the only exception - yeah, yeah - you are the only exception - oh, and I'm on my way to believing yeah and I'm on my way to believing - All right, everybody.
That is a wrap.
Excellent job.
- All right.
[applause.]
[school bell rings.]
- It was a little disconnected From what the purpose of the song was.
- The performance fell short, I think.
You will be performing for ryan tonight.
[school bell rings.]
- What's up? And how are we feeling about today? - [bleep.]
myself is the correct explanation, I believe.
Very nervous.
You know, I'm not gonna lie to ya.
I've prepared myself for being in the bottom three.
I'm not a negative person, but I just believe That because I've been there four times, I'm just gonna be there again.
- I'm pretty scared.
I don't want to be there.
After this video shoot, and, you know, Doing close-ups and stuff like that, Just being a little bit not as happy with my performance As I usually am, I feel like it's a definite possibility I'm meeting ryan, gonna end up in the bottom three.
- Only time can tell what is gonna happen.
[suspenseful music.]
- Hi.
- Hey.
- As you can see, zach isn't with us today Since there was no choreography this week, But we have nikki to help us With this difficult decision today.
- Hello.
- Hi.
- So it's that time, guys.
Three of you will be doing last-chance performances For ryan tonight.
Only two of you are safe.
Hannah, I wanted to tell you that I thought In the homework assignment, You have never sounded more beautiful However, at the actual shoot, I thought you seemed distracted.
You're such a good actress.
I was just surprised.
Do you--do you know why? - I just--I was confused, and I-I tried my best, so - Damian, I thought you did a great job at the video shoot.
It really made me proud Because you haven't really acted before, have you? - Not that intense ever.
That was just incredible.
I didn't think it was gonna be that hard.
You know, I'm gonna be honest.
I didn't expect it to be that tough.
- Lindsay, it's no denying that you are a great actress.
But on the shoot this week, zach, Who is one of your biggest fans, Commented that you didn't make him feel anything, As several of the other contenders did.
- Lindsay, I have to say that in the studio this week, You did frustrate me a bit.
- I'm sorry.
- It was almost like you came in Emotionally prepared to have a breakdown Because you saw some of the other contestants Maybe have a real moment.
It may have not been what you intended, But, um, it didn't come across true to the moment.
- Well, it's just, a lot of things have been building Just by being here, and I'm sorry If it came off false, but it--it wasn't at all.
- Samuel, at the video shoot, To be honest, I didn't feel the romantic side That I wanted to from you.
I just wanted to feel more vulnerability and longing, And the performance fell short, I think.
- Alex, it took you a while to warm up on the shoot.
From the very beginning, you did connect to a deep place, And that was very powerful, But it made your performance read kind of sad.
It was a little disconnected From what the purpose of the song was.
But when you were given the note to focus more on longing, You took it, and I think your performance Was breathtaking, really.
- Thanks.
- You will not have to perform A fifth time for ryan tonight.
- Thank you so much.
- Lindsay, you will be performing for ryan tonight.
- Okay.
- Hannah, you also will be performing for ryan tonight.
- All right.
It's on.
[laughs.]
- So samuel and damian, that leaves you guys.
Damian, you've performed for ryan four times already.
Do you think you have it in you to do a fifth? - [laughs.]
yes, I do.
But I don't want to.
But I have it in me, yeah.
But I'd just rather not.
- Samuel, you have yet to perform for ryan.
Are you ready to sing for him if you have to? - Yeah.
- Samuel, you are going to be performing for ryan tonight.
- Oh, my god.
I did not expect this.
I've been to hell and back, but I am gonna fight Until, you know, until--until the death To win this competition.
I'm blown away.
- So hannah, lindsay, and samuel, It's time to prepare for your last-chance performances.
- Lindsay, you will be singing maybe this time From the musical cabaret.
- I have no idea what that song is.
- You don't? Oh, you--I think you'll know it when you hear it.
- I will learn it tonight.
- Yeah.
- [laughs.]
- Samuel, you're gonna perform animal by neon trees.
- Nice! - [laughs.]
- yes! - I'll take that as an "I know it.
" - I'm already imagining this place, like, fully packed, You guys screaming my name, and I'm just like, let's go.
- Cool.
Good.
- So, I'm ready.
- Hannah, your song is back to December by taylor swift.
- Yay! - [laughs.]
- I love that song! Thank you! - So the next time I see you on the stage, I'll be with zach and ryan.
Can't wait to see your performances.
You guys are all gonna be incredible.
It's gonna be a great show tonight.
- All right.
I definitely feel like the underdog in this situation, Competing against lindsay and samuel.
That just makes me want to work even harder, So I feel a lot more competitive than usual.
- something's bound to begin I'm nervous, I'm very nervous, But I'm just going to sing it.
I think it's gonna be intense, Against, you know, personalities, And--and talent, like sam and hannah, It's not gonna be easy.
- [groans.]
I've never been in the bottom three before.
You know, at first, I'm kind of feeling like This song is a big song to take on, And I didn't even know it until I started to open my mouth.
And my throat's closing up because my nerves Are getting a little bit of the best of me.
oh, oh, what are you waiting for? The only thing I'm really worried about Is that, you know, ryan won't like me.
I get so caught up and think too much And think, okay, I gotta show them what-- What they want to see, even if it's not me.
I could totally be going home this week.
It's just how-- how this goes.
- All right, let's get ready.
- mmm - I don't want to go home.
I didn't come here to get fifth place.
[school bell rings.]
- Tonight, you have a very hard road.
I don't root for you, and I don't know why.
Of the three people who came across the stage tonight, You know, I think you were the most unrelatable.
- Can you really see all of them that you're pulling? - Yeah.
- [groans.]
- Oh, wait, I want to see.
- Holy [bleep.]
.
- [laughs.]
- Ew! Let me pluck one.
Come on, come on, let me pluck one.
- Hannah, no.
- Lean back, lean back.
- Don't--don't cut me.
- Now grab it and pull it out.
- Aah! - I think she grabbed, like, eight.
- [groans.]
[laughter.]
- [groans.]
[laughter.]
- Oh, that was deep.
- This is too much fun.
I could do this all day.
Lift up that nose.
[school bell rings.]
- Who's first up? - Uh, hannah is first.
- Oh, hannah.
- When she got in the music video shoot, She kind of struggled, but she was aware she was struggling, Which I was impressed with, so-- - okay.
- Great.
- Hey, hannah.
- Hello.
- Hi, hannah.
- Hi.
I'm going to be singing back to December by taylor swift.
[intro to back to December.]
I'm so glad you made time to see me how's life? tell me, how's your family? I haven't seen them in a while you've been good, busier than ever we small talk, work and the weather your guard is up, and I know why because the last time you saw me still burns in the back of your mind you gave me roses and I left them there to die so this is me, swallowing my pride standing in front of you saying I'm sorry for that night and I go back to December all the time 'cause this is me, swallowing my pride standing in front of you saying I'm sorry for that night yes, I go back to December turn around and make it all right yes, I go back to December all the time [applause.]
- Well, hannah, you know, I love you, I root for you.
I have to be honest with you.
Tonight, you have a very hard road Because I thinyou're up against two performers Who are better singers than you, And I think that you're aware of that.
The thing that you have, perhaps more than them, You really are the show.
You know, you're the person that people want to see win, And you've got a great degree of heart, But I wish you would be more confident about yourself.
- Me too.
- I really do.
- It's something I've been struggling with my entire life.
Like, you know, I was bullied when I was a kid and, like, I've just always been the big girl, And it's hard, you know, to keep going, But I'm getting better.
- I wish that you saw what we see.
- I catch glimpses.
- [laughs.]
- But you need to stand in front of the mirror longer.
- I know.
I actually did that earlier.
I gave myself a pep talk.
Just being here has put me miles ahead of where I was, So I definitely appreciate that and, uh - Well, that's great.
- Yeah.
Thank you so much.
- You're welcome.
- Thank you, hannah.
- Thanks, hannah.
- Yeah.
- I thought she did great.
- She did.
Okay, who's next? - Next is lindsay.
And lindsay's a great actress with an amazing voice-- As I've said over and over, the best voice I think that we've heard of everyone.
She's here because she wasn't quite as empathetic In this--in this piece as everybody else.
- Hello.
- Hello.
- My name is lindsay, And I will be singing maybe this time From the musical cabaret.
[intro to maybe this time.]
- maybe this time I'll be happy maybe this time, he'll stay maybe this time mbe this time love won't hurry away all the odds are there in my favor something's bound to give in it's got to happen happen sometime maybe this time I'll win 'cause all the odds are there in my favor something's bound to give in it's got to happen happen sometime maybe this time maybe this time I'll win [applause.]
- very good.
- Thanks.
- You know, the thing about you, I'm gonna be honest.
I think you're a fantastic singer.
I mean, you're very clearly in the lea michele mode.
When I need the next lea michele, Clearly of all the girls, you're that person.
The difference between the two of you is, I root for lea but I don't root for you And I don't know why.
There's just something about you that I struggle with.
Like, are you the show? Are you an underdog? Will you make me cry? Will I believe that you're not going to win? - Um, I've just been taught my entire life To be really strong, So maybe that's it.
- But I think--I think that there's a way to be strong And to be vulnerable at the same time.
- In my life, I can't be vulnerable.
- Well, you have to be.
Why are you so afraid to show that? - Um, it's just because I've been taught - Overcompensation.
- My entire life to just be so-- [sighs.]
I don't know how to describe it.
I'm almost programmed, as it were, To just kind of be perfect, And I hate being that way.
I catch a lot of awful crap for that, and-- - Like what? - Like, I'm adopted.
And, um, it's kind of like, I had to be the best So that I could prove to my family That I kind of belonged.
I-I don't--I'm not a jock, I'm not--I'm not perfect like they are, And so I strive, if that makes any sense.
- Right now, that's the girl that-- I've never seen that before, So suddenly, I'm like, oh, okay.
There--there you are.
- It's 'cause I never show it.
- I think that when, you know, when you come out here And you've said that there's no room for imperfection In your life, I don't think that people relate to that.
What we need is a heroine.
We need somebody who, Young girls, particularly, can invest in, And I keep wanting you to step into those shoes.
- Right.
- I think you can go.
- Thank you.
- Bye.
I think what I said to her was the truth, For what we need.
- It's just hard to figure who she is.
She's not quite dianna, she's not quite lea, She's not quite, you know.
- Well, that's the problem.
I think she just has to be who she is.
- No, I agree.
So samuel is here Because he goes to a little bit of a place Of being kind of aggressive.
- Hello.
- Hello.
- Whoa, this is kind of high.
I didn't expect that.
- This is the first time in the entire competition You've been here.
- Yes.
- So, what are you gonna sing? - I'm gonna sing animal by neon trees.
[intro to animal.]
here we go again I kinda want to be more than friends so take it easy on me I'm afraid you're never satisfied here we go again we're sick like animals we play pretend you're just a cannibal and I'm afraid I won't get out alive no, I won't sleep tonight oh, oh, I want some more, oh whoa-oh, what are you waiting for? take a bite of my heart tonight whoa-oh, I want some more oh, oh, what are you waiting r? what are you waiting for? take a bite of my heart tonight oh [applause.]
Right.
I'm not picking that up.
Mm-mm.
- Um - Chh-ah.
- Of the three people who came across the stage tonight, You know, I think you were the most unrelatable.
I think you're very, um, special, but I also think That you're rarefied, but that's not the show.
You can move, you're sexy, you've got a vibe.
You know what to say, but are you the show? Are you an outcast? Are you an underdog? You're almost too slick for me, And I don't see the soft side of you.
- Yeah.
- I think it would have been fascinating If you would have come out here And you would have-- if you would have Just been, um, vulnerable And emotional as opposed to, you know, russell brand.
I would have been much more interested in that guy.
I want something swoon-worthy from you.
Does that make sense? - Yeah, totally.
- The other thing that I thought was interesting about you From what I've heard is, when we had the lesson A couple weeks ago where you were paired with a guy, You actually said, "I'm not comfortable playing this Because I'm afraid that they would write me gay.
" - Because my parents are so conservative christians And stuff like that, it's the separation Between acting and real life, and I understand That my mom wouldn't want me to be gay.
I get that.
She is-- that's how she was raised.
But at the end of the day, like, I told her, I'm like, "it is acting, you know? "I don't have to kiss a girl "and then go fall in love with her.
I can simply do something to make a scene look good.
" And she totally understood that, And she was like, "you know what? Whatever happens, I'll support you.
" And that's--that's really the only thing that bothers me.
- Well, you know, it's interesting, 'cause the reason that I was very interested in cameron Was because I think that there really is A great void on this show to be filled, Which is to write a character who is christian-- - Mm-hmm.
- Who is also a bunch of different things.
Somebody who holds fast to those beliefs, I think, is an important thing for us to add to the show.
- Completely.
- So, where's that guy? - The back of my neck says "jesus christ," seriously.
- Really? - Yeah.
- I'm interested in the softer side of you, Like the christian boy side of you, The religious side of you.
- I feel like, on the show, people have a misconception Of--of--of what people in high school are.
- That's right.
- They have a misconception about me.
Like, um, you know, I do love god.
I love jesus so much, but at the same time, Like, I can play rock music.
- Okay, very good.
Thank you.
At the end of the day, with these kids, It's always who's the most talented, And it's a hard decision Because I think people will root for hannah Quicker and more obviously.
- She's made it this far because she's such a great actress.
- Mm-hmm - And you really--when you see hannah on the screen, You're just in love with her.
- But lindsay is also on-screen a great actress.
I mean, they're the two actresses - Yeah.
- Of the bunch.
That's the tough thing.
- And sam's great too.
I'm just worried that he can be a little one-dimensional.
- I love both of you guys a lot.
I don't know.
It's been really cool.
- I promised myself I would not cry today.
- Oh, get ready.
I really have no idea what's going to happen.
I try to get inside ryan's head And figure out what he's thinking, But anything could happen.
- I feel--I feel that we have become a family, and-- - Absolutely.
- To be absolutely honest, I am really preparing myself to go home 'cause I just feel like I just did horribly.
- I don't know who should go.
- It's very clear to me.
- All right, let's hit it.
[ .]
- Hey, everybody.
It's really, really hard, but the list is up, So go take a look.
[muffled conversation.]
[overlapping chatter.]
- you're my inspiration.
- Love you, guys.
- I want to win this competition more than I want to breathe, More than I want to exist.
I believe I want this more than anyone here.
- Being here is such a surreal experience, And I don't want it to end, So I really would like to make it to the end.
- I want this more than anything, And I feel like I've worked really hard for it, So I hope that I am safe.
- [exhales.]
[groans.]
- Shoot.
- This has been the most wonderful experience I could ever ask for, honestly.
It's been my dream for a very long time to be on glee, And, um, I mean, right now, it kind of feels like That dream is over, but I know That only good is going to come of this.
It's definitely the best thing that's ever happened to me.
- buh buh buh - buh buh buh - oh oh - buh buh buh buh buh buh oh oh - there's nothing you can say there's nothing you can do and there's no other way when it comes to the truth - so keep - keep holding on 'cause you know we'll make it through we'll make it through Captioning by captionmax [school bell rings.]
- Ooh.
- All right, let's do this.
- you can lean on - What do you think they're gonna want? - This is the last round before the final.
- I will fight tooth and nail to get there.
- Oh, stop.
- every time that you-- - [groans.]
- Just when we Had finally reached a decision, We got a phone call from ryan.
- For more information on the glee project, Go to oxygen.
