Are you going to do rock? That's the stuff I started with.
I was a 9-year-old sipping ac/dc.
Before "the voice" I had been in a band for six years.
I would go do a gig.
Why are you afraid? Because I'm out playing music the gig is up, the news is out, they finally found me it's hard to believe I'm in the top 12 because I should be in class right now doing English homework.
Coming out doing a rock song you have to command the stage.
Yeah.
It has to be 100% body confidence.
That's a challenge that I have to figure out.
You're not looking for approval on stage.
You're looking to command everyone.
You're a rock star.
That's the attitude you need to have.
Right from the very start I want people to go like, whoa.
I want to be able to trust you but I want you to prove to me today that you can do that.
When you're 15 years old you're still learning yourself, but you can't learn how to sometime like he has.
That's a real gift and I don't have very long yeah! Working with Gwen has been totally inspiring.
What I'm trying to do is what she's done for years the renegade who had it made rock song on a big stage.
This is the biggest stage I could ever imagine.

I wasn't as comfortable performing that song as I have been before.
Your stage presence sometimes feels a little bit too like thought out.
I definitely went into the rehearsal still kind of replaying some of the unshurdness.
So I'm glad America voted me through.
I don't want to go back to my weddings and bar gigs and stuff, you know? I don't think that's in the cards for you anyway.
Started out doing rock songs, but when he started to sing other songs that displayed a little bit more of the soulfulness, he shined this is it just getting any thoughts out of my head and just being me.
You think you're going to use the stand? No.
I just want to move around the stage and to shake.
We want whatever is going to produce a natural sounding performance.
If you've got to shake, you've got to shake.
If you've got to dance, you've got to dance, but don't think about it.
It's amazing to look at where I am now in the top 12 and doing what I'm doing.
