Thunderbirds Are Go! (2015) s02e11 Episode Script

Weather or Not

My friends feeding the world's population is a monumental challenge.
But we here at Fischler Industries, the world's leader in weather engineering, are ready to face it.
And thanks to your financial support, we have spared no expense to quickly make this dream reality.
So, without further adieu, allow me to present our, and by that I mean [CHUCKLES.]
"my", newest innovation.
The Fischler Weather Drones! [MECHANICAL WHIRRING.]
Yes, these state-of-the-art machines will soon transform this arid wasteland into lush farmland.
You, whatever your name is, initiate launch.
[REMOTE BEEPS.]
[WHIRRING.]
[ELECTRICITY FIZZES.]
[THUNDER.]
[FIZZING INTENSIFIES.]
[MUSIC.]
[RUMBLING.]
Erm what's happening? Well, it's all rather technical.
[CHUCKLES NERVOUSLY.]
I needn't bother you with the details.
[INTENSE FIZZING.]
- What is happening?! - How would I know? - You built them.
- Oh, fine, I'll handle it! Er [DRONES POP.]
[REMOTE BEEPS.]
[HIGH-PITCHED SQUEAL.]
What do you say we all go and have a visit inside our lovely, safe control booth? [CHUCKLES NERVOUSLY.]
That's right! Move along! Quickly, quickly, quickly! [FIZZING.]
[POPPING.]
[HIGH-PITCHED SQUEAL.]
[SCREAMING.]
[PANTING.]
[WOMAN SCREAMING.]
Five four three two one! [BURNERS ROAR.]
[TITLE MUSIC.]
Thunderbirds are go! 2x11 - "Weather or Not" [MUSIC.]
Parker, you do realise we're going - to be late for the presentation? - Well, we'd be there now if Lady Chablis hadn't gone on for so long.
You know how she likes to show off her spoon collection.
Next time cause a distraction.
I could always set the dog on her! [BARKS.]
Hmm that's peculiar! [DISTANT RUMBLING.]
[WHIRRING.]
[COMM BEEPING.]
Yes, Lady Penelope? John, I'm headed to the unveiling of a new environmental project.
But it appears something odd's going on.
Could you have a look? Sure thing.
Checking your position now.
That's quite a storm.
Wait a second! I know that logo.
Langstrom Fischler.
You're not working for him, are you? Only keeping an eye on him, John.
Fischler, he has good intentions, but you know what a mess he makes of things.
Boy, do I ever.
I'm patching him in.
[THUNDERBOLTS FIZZ.]
Mr Fischler, this is International Rescue.
How is everything there? Oh, fine, fine, thank you.
[LAUGHS NERVOUSLY.]
How are you? I'm detecting highly unusual weather patterns in your vicinity.
Do you require assistance? Oh, no.
No, no, no! No, it's just a little storm.
This control booth can take anything nature throws at it.
I designed it, after all! [THUNDERBOLT CRASHES.]
See? State-of-the-art.
I even put in some safety bits, this time round.
Tracy Island, we may have a situation and it involves our pal Fischler.
[MUSIC.]
John is correct about the danger.
Fischler seems to have created an artificial storm, complete with lightning and hurricane-force winds.
I'm just glad Scott's away with Alan, Fischler wouldn't like what he'd have to say.
If this keeps up, the tower is going down! Gordon, you can use the climbing repair pod and weld the brakes here and here.
That should buy us more time.
What about the drones? There must be a bug in Fischler's code for them.
I'll look into it.
[BEEPING.]
This one's taking a liking to us.
- Hang on, m'lady.
- Hanging on, Parker.
- Fischler? Brains here.
- Oh, yes, you.
I'm actually very busy calculating some advanced weather algorithms.
It appears that you have built some weather making drones.
Complete with a zippy-looking paint job.
And I assume you intended for them to spread out and generate rainfall across a wide area.
Umbrellas not included! [LAUGHS.]
[SIGHS HAPPILY.]
Yes.
You're correct.
Only they're doing the opposite by concentrating the storm.
Well, look, you can't expect everything to go right the first time round, can you? [SIGHS.]
Yes, you can.
The severity of the weather around the tower has put all of you in mortal danger.
Those drones are obviously malfunctioning.
Oh, is that right, Mr Negative Pants? Why don't you put some positivity in your life! The only thing I'm positive about is those drones are swarming together like bees.
- But why did they attack the tower? - It's not an attack.
They're just following their programming to make weather - and lots of it.
- We need to stop those drones and get the people off that tower.
Gear up.
See you in the sky.
[MUSIC.]
[WHIRRING.]
[ENGINE ROARS.]
[WHIRRING.]
[ENGINE HUMS.]
[WHIRRING.]
Five, four, three, two, one! [ENGINE ROARS.]
[BURNERS ROAR.]
[CLICKING.]
Thunderbirds are go! BRAINS: By the way, I recently installed some electric charge nullifiers on all the Thunderbirds.
They should shield you from the lightning.
Should?! Well, they can only take so many strikes before they stop working.
How many strikes are we talking, here? My best estimate is between 22 and two.
All right! Guess we'll let you know.
KAYO: I'll keep those drones busy - so you can focus on the tower.
- FAB.
[ELECTRICITY FIZZES.]
[EXPLOSION.]
[FIZZING.]
[ALL SCREAM.]
MAN: Fischler! [SCREAMS.]
Well, who's up for a game of charades? That ought to lighten the mood! [CHUCKLES NERVOUSLY.]
[RUMBLING.]
[FIZZING.]
[MUSIC.]
LADY PENELOPE: Coming up on your five o'clock.
Make that three o'clock.
- Persistent, isn't it? - [GROANS.]
Yes, indeed, m'lady.
[GROWLING.]
[WHIRRING.]
How are you three holding up? Not to worry, John.
All's well.
12 o'clock, Parker! It's right on top of us.
[SPUTTERING.]
[GASPS, GROANS.]
Right, then, you overgrown blender, that'll be enough of that! [EXPLOSION.]
Brains, any idea why this thing is following us? As far as I can tell, it thinks you're another weather drone.
These things are designed to work together.
How very tiresome.
VIRGIL: OK, Gordon, you're on.
One of these four of those.
[MECHANICAL WHIRRING.]
[ZAPPING.]
Ooh, you see that? She almost hit us.
Reckless flying, that's what that is! KAYO: Back up there, attention.
Kayo, it worked! Yeah, like a charm.
But by the way, it appears those aren't even lightning bolts.
They're streams of super-charged ions.
Well, that's reassuring.
Gently now, easy.
In contact! [CREAKING.]
Virgil, you can't maintain steady pressure on the platform in that wind.
You might push it over.
You're right.
Going for plan B.
[CRASHING.]
What are you doing? I'm trying to save you.
Well, nobody asked you to! But it never stops you lot, does it?! Because if you couldn't flit about in your shiny aeroplanes and rescue someone, well, you'll all be out of a job, wouldn't you? With your weird outfits.
[BEEPING.]
[FISCHLER MUTED.]
Much better.
GORDON: Repair pod is go! I'll start welding those supports.
[ZAPPING.]
[MUSIC.]
[GROWLING.]
Oh, Sherbet, it is all right.
It's just a bumpy ride.
Parker, will these gyrations go on much longer? Not once the engine gives out.
[BEEPING.]
Ah, well, then, carry on.
[DEEP CRASHING.]
I feel like a punchbag.
What are you going to do? Start punching back! Last time I checked, Thunderbird Shadow doesn't have weapons.
Then I'll improvise.
[MUSIC.]
[ENGINES ROAR.]
[EXPLOSION.]
Ha! Now, that was fun! [THUDDING.]
Uh-oh! Kayo, the charge nullifier is wearing down fast.
[FIZZING.]
[THUDDING.]
One more strike could be your last.
[GROANS.]
[HIGH-PITCHED WHIRRING.]
[CRACKLING.]
Virgil, Gordon, the drones are coming back.
[ALARM BLARES.]
Thunderbird 2 can't take much more of this.
You need to recharge at a safe distance.
I'll pick up the module and rendezvous with Kayo.
[BEEPING.]
[FIZZING.]
Whoa! [SCREAMS.]
[GRUNTS.]
Guys! It's a long way down without a parachute! KAYO: Hey, Gordon, need a lift? [GRUNTS.]
[FIZZING.]
[ENGINE ROARS.]
I'll keep an eye on Fischler until we can figure out our next move.
All right, good luck! Will the door open? The door open, the door! [GRUNTS.]
[SIGHS.]
You call this a rescue?! What, were you born in a tent? [GROANS.]
We have to get back in there and help those people.
OK.
How? We're out of options.
Don't be too sure.
I think I may have a plan.
Well, I hope it's a quick one.
This tower's going down any minute.
FISCHLER: Oh, dear.
[FIZZING AND CRACKLING.]
Don't leave us hanging, Brains.
What have you got? I've been analysing the drones.
It seems the weather generators rely on a synthetic crystal.
KAYO: How does that help us? Because a sonic blast at just the right frequency could make the drones self-destruct.
Like the way high-pitched sounds shatter glass! I love it.
So, what's the frequency? I'll get right on that.
[GROANS.]
I just wish we could make those drones fly in a straight line.
It would make it a lot easier to pick them off.
Kayo, we do rescues, we're not trained as fighter pilots.
It's on my to-do list.
What if I lead the drones away and you hit them with the sonic blast? Won't work.
I'll be busy pulling everyone off the platform.
Then who do we use as drone bait? Well, if you need a diversion, I have just the man.
- Who? Me?! - It's perfect.
That drone has been chasing FAB1 all this time.
I think we can get the rest of them to do the same.
Sherbet and I are game, aren't we, boy? - Parker? - The more the merrier.
[FIZZING.]
VIRGIL: I'm going in.
Brains, what's that frequency? Still working [GRUNTS.]
That's as steady as it's gonna get! Let's get these people off now! [WHIRRING.]
OK.
Go, go go! You know, Kayo, if you are planning to do something, now would be nice.
KAYO: Brains, any luck on that frequency? Still testing.
Almost there.
9882 kHz.
Remember, Kayo, you have to be very close for it to work.
Getting close is not the problem.
[NUMBERPAD BEEPS.]
Lady Penelope, Parker, cover your ears! [SHERBERT WHIMPERS.]
[HIGH-PITCHED WHINE.]
[BOOMING EXPLOSION.]
Whoo-hoo! Yes! [BOOMING.]
Gotcha! And another! [BEEPING.]
[RIG CREAKS.]
[CABLE WHISTLES.]
Go, go, go! MAN: Whoa! [FISCHLER GRUNTS.]
A captain always goes down with his ship.
Oh, good thing we're not on one.
Don't worry.
There's room for everyone.
[EXPLOSION.]
[PANTS.]
[GRUNTS.]
[CREAKING.]
[RUMBLING.]
[DEEP EXPLOSION.]
Gordon, where are you? Oh, just "hanging out!" [MUSIC.]
[HIGH-PITCHED WHINE.]
[EXPLOSION.]
I've got a rogue going after Thunderbird 2.
BRAINS: But its charge nullifier is nearly down to zero.
Parker, are you all right to handle this one? Like a walk in the park.
[GROANING.]
[SCREAMING.]
We've got company.
[BOOMING.]
[EXPLOSION.]
[MECHANICAL WHIRRING.]
[GASPS.]
I'm alive! Am I? Yes! I'm alive! KAYO: Lady Penelope, Parker, still with us? The little blighter is still on to us.
I got one last trick.
Hold on to your mutt, m'lady! [WHIMPERING.]
[GRUNTS.]
Parker! [EXPLOSION.]
Phew! Parker?! All in a day's work.
[MUSIC.]
Good as new.
Well done, Parker.
Take the rest of the day off.
Can't do that, m'lady.
You have to be in Berlin by eight.
- Opening night at the opera.
- Oh let's say we skip it! I've had enough high notes for one day.
[FISCHLER MUMBLES TO SELF.]
- Erm you OK, Fischler? - [MUMBLES.]
Hey?! Of course! I shall soon embark on a new and even more amazing endeavour.
- Yeah, maybe a career in fireworks? - [GASPS.]
Right! What if we were to set off fireworks on the Moon?! - Why would you do that? - I don't rest on my laurels.
I am not afraid of the unknown, the untested! The unorthodox.
- The unwise.
- The unnecessary? - The unstable.
- [BEEPING.]
The unethical! Exactly! Wait what?! No, no, no, no, no! Where are you going? Think of the merchandise! T-shirts, balloons! Shaped like the Moon! It never ends, I mean, the possibilities are endless!
