Tron: Uprising s01e13 Episode Script

The Stranger

Accessing archive data Hello, Able.
Able is visited by an old acquaintance - I know about Beck.
- Beck's training is essential.
- To what end? - He knows the stakes.
while Tron is visited by a guilty conscience.
A long time ago I misjudged someone.
- Who are you?! - I'm a friend.
I let friendship cloud judgment, and paid a heavy price.
1x13 - The Stranger Able: Beck, I need you to leave Argon and head straight to Gallium.
There's a pick-up I need you to make.
Beck: Gallium? But that's way out in the outlands.
Well, then stop wasting time arguing.
Stick to the road, and you won't have any trouble.
Come on, come on, come on! [ revving engine .]
[ truck honks horn .]
Uhh! [ tires screeching .]
[sighs.]
Great.
Stranger: The road's closed up ahead.
Nothing to do but wait out the storm.
Beck: Not an option.
I gotta get to Gallium.
Gallium? There's no way you're getting through that storm.
Fine.
Then I'll go around it.
[ laughs .]
Yeah, right.
Hmm.
So much for the shortcut.
Or not.
Whoa.
Uhh! [ grunts, shouts .]
[ yelling .]
Okay I'm pretty certain this isn't Gallium.
[ gasps .]
Ahh! Uhh! Hey hey! [ Beck screams .]
- Able: No word from Beck? - Beck? Uh-uh.
Why? He should have been back from Gallium by now.
No way it should have taken it this long.
- Unless - Unless what? Unless what?! [sighs.]
No one ever tells me anything.
[ gasps .]
[exhales.]
Tron.
Shouldn't you be back in that geriatric chamber of yours? - I'm looking for Beck.
- He's not here.
But I'll let him know you stopped by.
Something's happening in Pergos.
Something troublesome.
And you just can't leave it alone, can you? I intercepted the data feed, and it's encrypted.
So that's a "no".
Somebody doesn't want anyone to see what they're up to.
- Who's that? - Dyson.
He's someone you better hope you never have to meet.
You have friends everywhere, don't you? I need to see Beck as soon as he's back.
Make sure he gets the message.
Wait! You're not send him up against this Dyson, are you? - It's not your concern.
- Beck is my concern! So I'll go instead of him.
I'll find out what Dyson's doing in Pergos.
- Hmm - You're running out of time.
I'm running out of patience.
[ breathing heavily .]
Easy there.
Apologies for the rude welcome.
Where am I? You're safe.
You stumbled in what some would call "compressed space.
" Not quite off the Grid, but close.
I just call it home.
It's nice.
Inviting.
Speaking of home, I need to find a way back to mine, so sorry for trespassing and breaching your security system.
You're leaving? Now? Not a good idea.
That nasty storm is right on top of us.
Trust me, I can handle it.
Just point me to the exit and I'll be on my way.
I don't think you understand.
I'm not asking you to stay I'm insisting, Beck.
How did you know my name? I know a lot more than your name, Beck.
Or would you rather I call you the Renegade? [ gasps .]
Don't worry.
Your disc is safe along with all of your other juicy little secrets.
So you know everything.
[ laughs .]
Relax.
Who am I gonna tell down here? Besides, we're on the same team, you and me.
We're the good guys.
You expect me to just take your word for it? Yeah.
But I guess you got your reasons for being discreet.
Come on.
There's something I want to show you.
Hmm.
I'm right behind you.
Whoa! Announcement: All incoming programs please proceed to main elevator for service assignments.
Let's go, let's go.
Move it, programs.
We got work to do.
I said move it! All right, listen up, programs.
You've been assigned to group 7-4, system maintenance and inspection.
Upon exiting this elevator, do not fraternize, socialize, do not even make visual contact with your fellow workers.
Do not under any circumstances deviate from your designated stations.
Failure to adhere to these guidelines will result in your immediate deresolution.
Keep moving.
Able: So, uh, what did they say this top-secret project was? They didn't.
That's why it's "top-secret.
" Hmm.
All right, all right.
Let's go.
Did you build this place? I, uh, I repurposed it.
See, all code is identical, more or less.
So I took what I had and turned it into what I needed.
What are you? You're an ISO? [laughs.]
No.
No, I'm not an ISO.
But as you can see, I don't exactly fit in with Clu's image of perfection.
I don't envy you being the Renegade.
Feels like the entire Grid is depending on me.
That's a heavy burden to carry.
And throwing rocks at Clu isn't going to cut it.
He's growing stronger with each passing cycle.
If we don't hit back now, it'll be too late.
I couldn't agree more.
You see this this is what I'm talking about, this back-and-forth, like we're of one mind.
I really can't wait to show you what I've been working on.
I think you're gonna like it.
[ machine tools whirring .]
Dyson: And am I correct to assume Tesler knows absolutely nothing of our operation? - That's correct.
- Fantastic.
Clu's orders are to keep this under the radar.
We are to trust no one.
- What does it do, the project? - You'll see soon enough.
Dyson: Looking for something? Uh huh? Seems I've lost the other members of my group.
They sent me out for a generator, and I guess I took a wrong turn.
- May I see your disc? - Soldier: Hey, you! I'm terribly sorry, Dyson.
He must have wandered off.
If you can't keep your workers in line, do your best to remember you are just as replaceable as they are.
[ Beck grunting .]
Uhh! [ clanking, whirring .]
- What is this? - This, my friend, is what you and I will use to free the Grid.
[ electrical crackling .]
Huh? Perfect symmetry! The alpha and the omega! We're going to change the game, Beck.
Together! And for always! You're not talking about freeing the Grid are you? Of course I am.
But first we'll need to destroy it.
You'd be surprised how much damage you can do with a little recycled code.
Especially when energized by that very storm that brought you straight to me.
- You're bluffing.
- Do I look like I'm bluffing? Once I destroy even a portion of the Grid, the entire system will crumble! But you'll kill every living program! No! I'll free every living program.
- I won't let you do this.
- Let me? You and I are more alike than you know.
Aaah! We're nothing alike! Then why do I know every move you're going to make before you make it? Aaah! You're not the first program Tron trained to fight back.
I am.
Surprise! I'm the first Renegade! - I don't believe you! - That's okay.
We'll be dead soon enough, wiped out, along with Tron and the rest of the slaves.
Conserve your strength, Renegade, because tonight we shock the Grid.
[ laughing .]
Do you believe in free will? - Aaah! - Yeah, me neither.
Just like I don't believe that it was coincidence that brought us together.
All of this you being the Renegade, arriving here at this very moment - it's all predetermined.
- I'm here because I got lost.
[ laughing .]
You think you're acting beyond your programming, but this is your programming.
We were meant to free the system together.
What's going on?! I can't detonate an E.
M.
P.
this powerful by myself.
I need a second energy source to help me trigger the explosion.
You mean me?! Now you're getting it.
But Tron never did.
He thought this space could contain my genius.
Tron trapped you here? - You're locked in? - It's a prison, Beck.
My prison.
But all prisons have a key.
Now, I need you to be brave because this may hurt a little.
[ electrical crackling .]
Aaaah! To freedom! [ Beck groaning .]
Dyson: Where are you going? I never did get to see your disc.
Oh, I I was just, uh I was Uh You were just what? Dyson: Your disc now.
- What took you so long? - Able! - How about that? - Tron: Behind you! Protect the device! - Did you find it yet? - No! Do you know how many floors are in this place? This is why I usually bring Beck.
Do you even know what you're looking for? I'll know it when I find it.
- Found it.
- You know what this means.
I was wrong.
As much as I hate to admit it, you're gonna need Beck.
Wrong again.
I need both of you.
[ whirring, crackling .]
[ grunting, groaning .]
It's over, Beck.
Tron is wrong.
And I'm about to show you just how wrong he was.
Aaah! Beck! Stay with me.
Beck! Aaaah! No no! No!!! What have you done?! You were right.
Fate did bring us together so I could stop you! Where will you run to? Back to Tron? The spirit of the Renegade ends right here right now.
Not for me.
No no!!! [ Beck grunting .]
- Where have you been? - My fault.
I tried to outsmart a storm on the road to Gallium.
Got myself lost.
And almost for good.
- I'm glad you found your way back.
- Always do.
I guess that's why you picked me to lead the revolution.
One of many reasons, yes.
You're Special? I know.
- One of a kind, right? - Right.
Right.
[ evil laughter .]
