Since when do we fish in undertown, grandpa Max? Are you kidding? You never know what you'll haul in down here.
Last time, Patelliday and me caught nocturnal pus oozers, sticky nine-eyed eels, and bursting gelatinous tile fish.
Now, that was some good eatin'! Oh, yeah.
I-I'm fine with catch and release.
Too bad I need to catch something first.
- Have patience, Ben.
- For how long?! I'm not having any luck, Rook.
You try this one.
- Oh, nice catch, Rook! - I have succeeded with Ben's choice of bait.
You have a genuine knack.
Give me that! Hey, where's the bait? Magister Patelliday! Ha! Oh, sorry about that, Ben.
Couldn't help myself.
But don't you fret! I brought us another can! It is well that we are not fishing for you, magister.
A Piscciss Volann will eat anything.
We ain't picky that's a fact.
Jaws that can slice through steel.
And, men, you are looking at a fine physical specimen.
Huh? - Who's the best fisherman now? - Max.
- Me.
- Magister Tennyson.
Ben, you must make the fish come to you.
Did a lot of this back home, did you? None.
This is a method that I learned in my Earth studies.
"Joe college" over here.
Behold"noodling.
" - Seized! - Ha! Well, would you look at that.
Your arm, please.
- Ew.
Now what? - Now you wait patiently.
This could take all da Hey! Get this thing off me! No substitute for patience.
I'll bring up more fish than that boat can hold.
I'm at least a better fisherman than Rook.
I don't know.
That noodling was pretty darn impressive, if you ask me.
A lucky accident.
It would never work the same way twice and never on a fish more intelligent than that half-witted alien fluke that Rook hauled in.
Got him.
Magister Patelliday? Robots in the drink! Hold on! Rock on! Aw, man! Ben! Robot pirate thingies nabbed Patelliday.
- Robot pirates? - I know, right? - How? - They noodled him.
Oh.
A very effective method.
Not the point! Which direction did those robot pirates take him? There.
Now, just you wait! I'm jaws of fury itchin' to chomp me some titanium skull! Hey.
Where are we going? - What's that sound? - Look.
Nuts.
Let me tell you somethin', water Water?! Rath Rath doesn't do water! - Pick another alien! - Like me.
You better save Rath, or Rath is gonna dropkick you, awkward alien partner! I could use some help.
Keep that water off of Rath! Now, let me tell you somethin', waterfall! Get it off! Uh sorry? Where do you think those pirates took Patelliday? Switch to full power.
Aye-aye, Captain Cork.
Ready to bottle, Captain.
Excellent! Engage bottle crew.
Engaged.
Yarg.
Now, then, how's my lunch coming? Now, this is an unpredictable predicament.
And it sounds like I'm not the only one you caught.
Which way, gentlemen? We can make it through this way.
Got to be faster.
Is faster always better? We got to stay on their trail, or we lose Patelliday.
Galley slaves, bring me lunch! I'm hungry! Yes, sir, Captain Cork.
You know, I was just thinking about how magnificent the local seafood is, and then I wondered.
I wondered why I wasn't smelling anything cooking! Ta-da! I'm not technically local.
Sushi? I don't want sushi! I want it cooked! Now, don't get your britches in a twist.
I wasn't gonna let you eat me anyway.
Well.
Would you look at that.
There's a bit more to this caper than what's for lunch.
I cannot locate Magister Patelliday's badge.
It could be interference from the subterranean geology or Don't worry about Patelliday.
He can take care of himself.
Whoa.
It's a trap! Jury Rigg disassemble! Reassemble fix! Fix, fix, fix, fix, fix! With one difference! - I am duly impressed.
- Wow.
Fast work, Ben.
Is there any other kind? If they had that many sentries up front, you know it won't be the end of it.
Nothing I can't handle.
You did see me back there, right? You guys got this one.
A krakken! It must be the robot pirates' guard dog.
You mean guard fish! Just enough room in here for way big! Crashhopper?! Next time I see Azmuth, I'm gonna step on him! Rook! Give me a line! Okay.
But I fail to see how Ben! Let's see if he'll take the bait.
This is a terrible idea.
Shh! But what I Sh-sh-sh-sh-sh! Got to have patience, grandpa Max! Hang on! Thataboy, Ben! Sorry about the wet fur, Rook.
It is nothing compared to the way you smell.
Aw, come on! Forgive me.
It is even worse than Stinkfly.
You said the Captain wanted raw fish.
- I said "fresh.
" - Raw! - Fresh! - Raw! - Fresh! - Raw! - Fresh! - Raw! - Fresh! - Raw! - Fresh! - Raw! Watch what you're doing! You chopped ropes up along with that talking fish.
Uh, 'scuse me but I don't want to be lunch! Well.
Glad we cleared that up.
- Force field.
- Thanks.
It means we're getting close.
Blast it.
What's wrong? Oh.
Ben Just need the right alien.
Patelliday?! Told you he could handle himself.
We're gonna need everything we've got to stop - these robot-pirate guys.
- What are they up to? Well, they it'll come to me, once I let it ruminate.
He's a ruminator.
Full power! Just a few more ships, and this set of Earth vessels is complete and ready for sale.
Aw, nuts! I wasn't quite done ruminating.
Magister Patelliday wanted to figure out your plan for himself.
Got to say, I was expecting something a bit more hm - Impressive.
- Impressive?! I'm stealing boats and putting them in giant bottles! I could have sworn he was planning some kind of universal hostage situation.
Don't be so hard on yourself, Patelliday.
He's still dangerous.
Your ship-bottling days are over! Take them, my mechaneers! Fine.
We can do this the hard way Diamond hard! A nod to tradition.
What about the people on those boats? They're getting a free trip across the galaxy! These boats are worth a fortune to certain galactic collectors.
But those bottles are sealed.
They're all gonna run out of air.
It is a hostage situation! Hear that? Not much time.
Take them! Reminds me of that weekend that we took out Cassiopeia way, you and Xylene, me and Appida Lou.
- Patelliday? - Yeah, Max? - Duck! - Leg sweep! Yeeaw! What's keeping you, newbie? The air in those bottles is getting stale! Right away, magister.
That's it! Prisoners liberated! Uh-Oh.
What have you done?! Nothing you didn't have coming.
Wrap this up, boys.
I want to see if the fish are still bitin'! Nope.
No more fish.
You're out of luck.
You'll never get the ships out before your humans run out of air! You were saying? Looks like this fishing trip has caught us a whale.
- Oh, no! - Terrible.
- W-why was it terrible? - He means it was a groaner.
I-I, um a "groaner"?
