Austin and Ally s04e04 Episode Script

Seniors & Senors

We're finally seniors.
This is so cool.
Yay! Seniors! Whoop! And that's so not cool.
Wow! Someone went all out for the first day of school.
I spent all last night picking up this outfit.
I wanted to make sure that no one wore the same thing, because that would be embarrassing.
I guarantee no one's wearing That.
Pfft! Look at that doof.
Must be a junior! Senior year is gonna be amazing.
And the best part is I get to spend it with my friends and my boyfriend.
That's me.
Aww! Look at you two.
I used to have that with somebody.
Her name? Carrie.
Her face? Pretty.
Her I.
Q.
? Low.
But I know how you feel, Dez.
Ever since Jason and I decided to take a break, I've been feeling kind of down.
But things are looking up now.
Hey! I like your shirt.
Look like it's made of boyfriend material.
Hola, señora Gomez.
How was your summer? Hola, Ally.
My summer was great.
I re-watched all 49 seasons of my favorite Spanish soap opera: "Corazón caliente.
" Hola, señor Moon.
¿cómo estás? Thanks! I am having a good hair day.
She didn't compliment your hair.
She asked how you are? And shouldn't you be sitting somewhere else? That area is for seniors only.
I know.
We're all seniors.
No, they are seniors.
You are not.
Because of all your touring last year, you never passed my Spanish class.
Which makes you one credit short.
I'm afraid You are still a junior.
- What? - No! - Seriously? - Ay, ay, ay.
I'm bummed about Austin.
We've really looking forward to being seniors together.
I know.
I really feel bad for the guy.
- Hey, guys.
- Beat it, junior! Sorry, that's how seniors are supposed to talk to juniors.
Rules are rules.
Well, I'm off to class.
I'll miss you.
I'm gonna miss you most of all, you pathetic junior.
It's the rules.
Wait, Trish! So, I spoke with señora Gomez.
She's letting me re-take last year's final on Friday.
If I'll pass, I'll be a senior.
Nice! Just in time for the senior carnival Friday night.
I really need your help! Spanish is my worst subject.
I'm so much gooder at English.
Are ya? Since you speak Spanish so well, would you help me study for the exam? - I don't know.
- I'll pay you.
Guest who got a job as your new Spanish tutor.
Coach Simmons? What? You're teaching advanced chemistry? And wrestling, glee club, drama and interpretative dance.
Budget cuts.
Dez, how did you get into advanced chemistry? I took a left at the cafeteria, walked down the hall, and the door was wide open.
Hey, coach.
Not you again.
Great lesson in interpretative dance class today.
All right, everyone! I'm coaching advanced chemistry this year.
We've got a tough season ahead, but if we practice hard we can win this thing.
Okay, chemistry on three.
One, two, three Chemistry! - Chemistry.
- Chemistry! We'll work on that.
Next, I'll assign your lab partners for the school year.
I really hope I can get Sun Hee.
Well, that is if I can't get you.
I have to get an "A" in this class, and she's really smart.
Look, she's already started reading the text book.
Okay, Tim, your lab partner is gonna be Jenny.
Warren, you're gonna be with Toby.
And Dez, you're gonna be partnered up with Not me, not me, not me.
Ally.
Yay! Ha, you and me! Side by side! All year long I'll express my excitement through interpretative dance.
Okay, so my plan is to fully immerse you in Spanish, so you can speak it well enough to pass that test.
I labeled everything in this room with its Spanish name.
So, let's begin, señor Moon.
- Okay, silla.
- Silla.
- Puerta.
- Puerta.
- Bicho raro.
- Bicho raro.
That means "handsome gentleman.
" I lied.
It means "weirdo.
" Now, let's move on to some introductions.
Hola, me llamo señorita de la rosa.
That means: "Hello, my name is miss de la rosa.
" Now you try.
Hello, my name is miss de la rosa.
No! Introduce yourself in Spanish.
Me llamo Austin! Hey, I'm getting better already.
So, how's my little estudiante doing? Huh? I think that answers your question.
I'm worried.
What if I don't pass the test? Oh, I don't want to put any pressure on you, Austin.
But if you don't pass this test, you wont be able to go to senior carnival, senior picture day, senior prom, senior anything! And then I'll graduate and go to college, and you'll still be in high school.
I'll be doing college things and you'll be doing high school things, and our entire lives will be ruined! Okay.
Good.
So, no pressure.
I make sure you use sulfate we get and not magnesium.
And it has to be measured to the precise milligram.
Ally, I know what I'm doing.
I've got our scale right here in my backpack.
You melted your backpack? But our scale was in there.
We needed that for the assignment.
Relax, this is chemistry! It's supposed to be fun.
It's not an exact science.
That's exactly what it is! An exact science! And it's only fun when you follow the rules, study the textbook, write the lab reports, and get an "A.
" Ally, there's no "A" in "fun.
" See you tomorrow, coach! Oh, and great news: I transfered into your drama class, so now you get to teach me three times a day.
Yippee! All my dreams are finally coming true.
Aww.
This year's gonna be so much fun.
See you tomorrow partner.
Can't wait partner.
You got to give me a new partner! Please, please! Whoa, whoa, Dawson! I feel your pain.
But you can't switch unless you can convince someone else to take Dez as a lab partner.
Good luck with that.
Okay, here's my master plan to get rid of Dez.
All I have to do is Aaron's math homework.
And then he will switch with Brittney M.
If I babysit his pet weasel.
Then Brittney M.
will switch with Pam if I wash her car.
So that way she can be partners with her boyfriend Tim.
Leaving Tim's partner to be stuck with Dez.
And then I'll get an "A.
" Whoo! Self-five! Hmm, bad news.
Pam and Tim broke up at lunch today.
There's no way they'll want to be partners now.
What? But I'm already babysitting the weasel! Uh-oh.
Willy? Willy! Come to mama.
Come to mama.
Come to mama.
Hola, señoritas.
¿cómo están? Austin, your Spanish is getting better.
Estoy bien, ¿y tú? Hola, señoritas.
¿cómo están? That's the only sentence you know, isn't it? Yep.
Pretty much.
Didn't you study all those flash cards I made you? I did, but that's all I can remember! I told you, I'm terrible at Spanish.
We'll think of something.
We just have to get more creative.
By the way, you guys want to hear the weirdest thing? I just saw a weasel at the food court! Willy! I don't see how this is going to help.
The mariachi will sing every word you say, in Spanish.
And since you're a musical person and you never forget lyrics, I figure this, is the best way for you to learn.
And you really think this will work? The exam is tomorrow, so it better.
Thanks, Trish, now if you excuse me I really got to use the bathroom.
I'm gonna go upstairs now.
Yeah, yeah, going to the bathroom.
I can go by myself.
I'm a big boy.
You stay here! Thanks, bye.
So, after I found the weasel, I washed brittney M.
's car.
And I talked Tim into apologizing to Pam so they get back together.
And that's how I finally got you as my new lab partner.
I don't speak Korean, but That doesn't sound like, "yay, Ally, we're partners!" That's because she's not your partner.
Dez made a bunch of switches, so, Ally, you're back with him.
- What? - What? But I spent all day doing favors and trading with people, so that I didn't have to have to be with Ally anymore.
I clipped Aaron's toenails.
Every switch you made undid the switches she made.
Ironic, ain't it? What? Hold on.
It makes sense that I wouldn't want to be your lab partner, but How could you not want to be my lab partner? You're too controlling! You don't let me do anything! I need a lab partner that's gonna let me be me.
Well, I need a lab partner that's gonna let me be the me that gets an "A.
" Not the me that gets a "B.
" Or a "C.
" Or a "D.
" Oh my gosh, I'm feeling faint.
Hmm.
Maybe there is a way to take all these "me"s and turn them into a "we.
" I think if we work together, we can have fun and get an "A.
" Fine.
If you try to take the assignment more seriously, I will try to be less controlling.
Even though I'm not remotely in any way controlling.
Ask anybody.
Raise your hand if you think I'm controlling.
Put your hand down.
- Hey, Austin.
- Hey, Sergio.
How is it going? It's going muy bien.
Turns out, putting Spanish to music really helps me memorize it.
Sergio, para de cantar.
Toma un descanso.
What? No way! You just told him to stop singing and take a break.
You're actually speaking Spanish! Well, thanks to you and Sergio, I'm totally gonna ace that test tomorrow morning.
Great! I'll let you get back to studying.
- Adios.
- Huh? I'm kidding.
Hasta mañana.
Sergio, I hope you're not tired, 'cause we have a long night of studying ahead of us.
Oh, no! Oh, no, I overslept! I missed the test! I missed the test! So, how did the test go? Did you ace it like you thought you would? I messed up.
I really, really messed up.
Oh, I know what he's doing.
He's pretending he failed the test, so we'd get extra excited when he tells us that he actually passed.
Oh, congrats, buddy.
No, you don't understand! I overslept and I missed the test! Uh-huh, uh-huh, sure.
Sure.
I'm telling you, I didn't make it to the test! Wow, you're really committed to this bit! I don't think Austin's joking.
Señora Gomez, I'm so sorry, I spent all night studying Spanish I do not want to hear it, señor Moon.
I gave you a second chance and you blew it.
I'm afraid that means You are still junior.
What is she looking at? I can't believe Austin isn't going to be a senior with us.
I know.
It's like he's moving backwards, we're moving forward.
Next thing you know, I'm gonna be an old man and he's gonna be a baby.
That's not how it never mind.
Let's just finish our chemistry assignment.
Ah, good idea.
Nothing like mixing dangerous chemicals to get our mind off our heartache.
- Ah make sure that you - I know.
- Now you really should - I know.
- And you probably should - Ally, I've got it.
You said you wouldn't be so controlling.
Okay, okay.
I won't say anything else.
Hmm.
Hmm, hmm.
Hmm, I wish this mix was a little prettier.
Had like a nice shade of purple.
- Ah, like this! - Dez.
You can't just add random chemicals to make it look prettier.
You promised to be more responsible.
But I like purple.
We all do.
Fine.
Oh, in that case, I guess we're done.
And nothing went wrong! Dez, your hand is frozen.
Huh.
I guess it is.
Whoo! Chemistry! Okay, you get three chances to knock down the milk bottles.
Let me set them up for you.
Dez, you gotta wait for me to set them up.
Sorry, coach.
- Dez! - Sorry, coach.
There.
Go ahead.
- Dez, the milk bottles! - Ah.
Sorry, coach.
Can you keep an eye on Dez? I need to sneak back into the lab and mix our project in with the hydrogen phosphate.
I'm positive Dez forgot to do it.
Oh, no.
Not the hydrogen phosphate! Just kidding.
I have no idea what are you talking about.
I'm gonna stand over here where it's safe.
What is wrong with you? Ooh, hydrogen phosphate.
And Ally saves the day again.
Ha! Ooh, purple! And Dez saves the day again! About time you got here! Señora Gomez is over there working the cotton candy stand.
Señor Moon, unless you're here for cotton candy, we have nothing to talk about.
I'm not here to talk.
I'm here to sing.
Hit it, Sergio.
That was quite impressive, señor Moon.
You have demonstrated a strong comprehension of the Spanish language.
So you'll let me take the test? No.
It means you have passed my class.
Congratulations.
You're now A senior, señor.
- Whoo! - Yes! - Yay, Austin! - What is she looking at? Can I have my money now? - Whoo! - Wait a minute.
Why are you wearing a lab coat? Oh, betrayal! You were working on the experiment without me.
Okay, fine! I know you forgot to combine our mixture with the hydrogen phosphate, so I went back and I did it myself.
Wait a minute! You added more hydrogen phosphate? But I just added a bunch of that purple stuff.
Do you know what that's gonna do? Because I don't.
Can you explain it to me? Well, there is this tiny chance that when they mix together it will bubble over, there will be a huge explosion and And gas will leak everywhere.
Why did you put in the purple stuff? Why? Why? I'm sorry.
I like purple.
Don't worry, don't worry, don't worry.
The gas isn't dangerous.
If anything It'll just make your voice squeaky for a little while.
Why is it doing that? Because the air density is different than the air we normally breathe, so that when we Never mind.
None of this would have happened if you weren't so controlling.
Guys, who cares? I'm a senior! Arriba! - Gracias.
- De nada.
Oh, I'm so excited, guys! Now that I'm a senior, we can all finally relax and enjoy this carnival.
- One - One Okay, forget the push-ups.
Just go clean up the lab.
Trish, thanks so much for all your help.
I couldn't have done it without you.
And I know I said I'd pay you if I passed, so Here.
Thanks, Austin.
But honestly I would have done this for free.
- Really? - No.
Gracias, señorita.
Oh, I forgot I had to pay that guy! Dez, don't! Not again! But I like purple.
