What else have we got? Well, there's this whole little case right here that just has a bunch of needles in it.

Officer: We're on our way to assist our neighboring district.
They just got a bait-car activation and we have units responding in the area.
We have several different types of vehicles that we set up around some of our higher crime areas where vehicles have been stolen.
And they're equipped with video and audio surveillance.
We can get a live feed and it's also GPS activated.
That way we can keep tabs of where the vehicle's going.
We just got behind the vehicle here now.
( Engines revving ) Southbound on N.
Palm Beach, he's running.
He knows we're behind him.
Man on radio: FCIC clear.
Tag not found.
Looks like they're gonna bail out.
They're gonna bail out.
Get on the ground! Get on the ground! Get-- Show me your hands! Show me your hands! Show me your hands! Officer: Get up, lay down.
Lay down.
Put your other hand out.
There we go.
Cuff him.

What's your name, bud? - Got anything on him? - What's your name? - David.
David.
- Huh? - David, how old are you? - 14.
You all right? Are you hurt? Okay.
Why are you running for? Hey, did you see whoever else ran out of that car? - Naw, he bailed too fast.
- All right.
I think he was wearing a white shirt.
There was a passenger, but we don't know which way he went.
He came out here.
He was actually slowing down before we had a chance to deactivate the vehicle.
But it just kind of rolled here, hit this fence here and the driver took off.
And we got the driver, but the passenger-- unfortunately we didn't get him so.
Destroying all that weed in the back of my backseat.
See it? You smell the weed? Just smell.
Dumel: Is that what he's doing, eating? That's what he's doing right now.
Trying to eat all the weed.
- Get out.
Step out.
- Take him out of the-- - Trying to eat the weed? - Yeah.
Dumel: Did you eat that weed? Open your mouth.
Yeah, you can smell it all in there.
- In the car, right? - Lift up your tongue, young man.
- Yeah, I can see it.
Dumel: - Lift it up.
Yeah, he's got-- he's got some in.
All right.
- That's dirt.
- No, it ain't.
Listen, man, it's for your own health.
We don't want to see you get sick.
That's my truck.
We was just playing like that.
Your truck, was it? - Whose truck is it? - Mine.
It's your truck? Where'd your parents get it at? What's your name? You gonna tell us now so you don't have to spend the time in jail as a john doe? So you're going to jail one way or another.
So you might as well make your trip there short as possible.
All right? Dumel: We're going to rapid ID him through the biometric fingerprint scanner.
And if he's been arrested before, then it should tell us who he is.
- ( David sighs ) - All right, have a seat.
Listen, let me ask you these right quick.
All right? Who-- who was in the car with you? - Nobody.
- Nobody? There was somebody else in there with you.
No? You're not gonna tell me who that is? You're just gonna take this one by yourself? All right.
He just won't give up his partner, so.
He'll take this rap by himself.
Johnson: All right, take him back over to the office.
- Wayne Black will meet you guys over there.
- Okay.
We're on our way to the district to meet with the auto theft detective.
He's gonna pull the in-car video, that way we can review it.
The driver's mom has been contacted and she's gonna head up to the district and meet with us also.
Here's the beginning of the video and you'll see them approach on foot shortly.
There we go.
And right there you'll see where his buddy hands him over the screwdriver.
Right there in his hand.
We'll definitely charge him now with possession of burglary tools.
Looks like he's the smallest guy too, driving that big truck.
Yep, he runs that stop sign.
- Looks right behind him.
Johnson: - No kidding.
Dumel: Here they are, they know we're behind them.
Johnson: - Mom's on her way in? - Man: Yeah.
- Sheriff, they're here.
Dumel: - Oh, they're here? There we go and we're bailing.
- I told him.
It's not-- - Step over here.
Dumel: Come look at this video.
Hit the lights so we can see this better.
No, you can stand.
Come on, come over here.
Man: - Stand up.
- All right.
Man: It's your handiwork there.
Gonna show you this video, see if this is you or not.
Who's that there? - ( Chuckles ) - It's not you? Mother: DJ, that's not you? David: - They let me drive it.
- They let you drive it? - See, they took me to it.
- Are you saying those two people - that you're in the car with - They took me to it.
- they took you to that truck? - Yeah.
Okay.
And then what happened? Then I was in it.
- You was in it? Okay.
- With them.
Where were you going with it? I don't know.
They was just telling me where to go.
And I was going.
Might have just saw me driving.
Do you know those two? But, but, but that is you driving that truck though, right? No? Okay, it looks like you.
Well, David, you're being charged with number one, grand theft auto.
You're being charged with resisting arrest without violence.
You're being charged with burglary.
You're being charged with conspiracy to commit grand theft auto, possession of marijuana, tampering with evidence, driving without a driver's license and you're also going to get two citations for running those two stop signs.
And then when we find your buddies, they're also gonna be charged too.
Officer: In northern California you got everything.
You got the mountains.
You got the beach.
You got skiing in the winter.
There's great fishing in the Delta.
If you like outdoor stuff, this is an excellent area to to live in.
You can do a lot of stuff around here.
( Siren blurts ) All right, we're gonna conduct a traffic stop on this truck.
It failed to stop at a stop sign.
His passenger's looking a little squirmy.
He's moving around.
- How you doing? - Hi.
- ( Honks ) - Just letting him know that it's good.
- Okay, good.
What's your name? - Keith.
All right.
Basically I stopped you because you didn't stop all the way - at the three-way stop sign right there at Oriole.
- Okay.
All right.
Do you have your license with you? - Yeah.
- All right.
( Mutters ) Are you on probation or anything, bud? - Uh, yes.
- What are you on probation for? Uh I think, domestic violence.

- Just sit there and be still.
- Me too? Yeah, you're gonna-- We're gonna search you first.
Put your stuff up on the dashboard.
You're gonna stand right here.
You're gonna face that right there.
- Probation search for what? - If you're on probation and you have a search clause it's called a probation search.
- You do have a search clause.
- Oh, what'd I do? You got two search clauses.
- ( Radio beeps ) - Affirm.
I just need a second for a search.
Take a seat right here.
( Groans ) ( Radio chatter ) Right, step on out.
Put your phone on the seat for me.
- Nothing illegal on you? - No, sir.
All right.
Step back here.
Now step up on the curb.
I'm gonna just pat you down real quick.
- No weapons or nothing.
- No.
All right.
- What's this? - It's my old lady's pills.
- I know, but what is it? - Uh, I don't know.
Somebody-- One of my friends gave it to me, - told me to give it to her.
- One of your friends gave it to you? - Yeah.
- All right.
She ran out of her-- So you don't know what it is is what you're telling me.
- Well, it's a pain pill, I know that.
- Okay.
- To give to her.
- You're on probation for having stuff like that, right? - My wife's got fucking lung cancer-- - I know.
- She's got a collapsed lung.
- What do you got? I'm-- I'm just trying to take care of her, man.
- No, what do you got though? - What do you mean? - I don't got-- - If you don't have anything, why do you have it on you? - 'Cause to give to her.
- Okay.
- I don't take it.
- But you're not with her right now, - so why do you have it? - I'm on my way to her house right now.
Just take a seat right here.
So it's Norco, all right.
Prescription only.
You're on probation for having pills already.

But I didn't put that there.
That's not mine.

What did you put in his car? Nothing.
Why? 'Cause I found some stuff in his car.
