Haunted Collector (2011) s03e11 Episode Script

Haunted Seminary - Ghost Games

- On this episode Of Haunted Collector Here we are in Madison, Ohio.
In 1962, the building is converted into a mental institution.
It felt like I was hit with a lead pipe.
It was terrifying.
Somebody just started screaming like they're being brutally murdered.
Welcome to Mendon, Massachusetts.
My children refuse to go upstairs.
They're petrified.
A young boy died when he was seven years old.
Those stains can come from blood remaining on it.
Oh my God! Are you the one they hear running throughout the house? - What the hell is that? - What? - What is that right there? - Holy [Bleep.]
! There's nothing and then all of a sudden - Right there! - That.
- Are you seeing that? - Oh my God! My name is John Zaffis.
For over 40 years, I've been helping people with their paranormal problems.
I found that spirits can attach themselves to objects - Whoa.
There it goes.
There it goes.
- Oh, my God.
And make life a living hell.
That's where my team comes in.
My son Chris, my daughter Aimee.
Brian my tech guy, Jason my researcher.
And Jesslyn my investigator.
- My job - What is that? Man on walkie-talkie: Don't touch that thing.
Find the haunted item and remove it.
Because I am the Haunted Collector.
- Hey.
- Hey, buddy, what are you doing? Just taking a look at this bed frame that we got from Hawaii.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Just seeing if anything's still lingering around it.
Glad you're checking it out.
All right, I got a new case that we just got.
Her name is Karyn and she owns a Seminary.
Hi, John, this is Karyn Cassell.
We own the Madison Seminary in Madison, Ohio.
We are experiencing, we believe, some paranormal activity within our building.
We believe that we have seen a nurse apparition.
Sometimes our inhabitants are not so friendly and They pull our hair, poke us.
I even have been hit on my hand.
I feel whatever is here is out to harm me.
My plans for the building are to remodel it for professional office space.
And we would appreciate any help that you could give.
I can understand why they're trying to figure out what's happening.
Okay, why don't you get a hold of the gang and let's pack up and head out there.
Okay.
All right, I'll need a hand with the equipment.
Okay, guys, I had you look at the video and everything.
Karyn purchased this building, they're trying to restore it.
From what I understand, the idea is to kind of clean up the building, and rent it out to other small local businesses.
The building is known as Madison Seminary and that's what they called schools back in 1845 when it started as a boarding school.
And it then became in 1891, housing for elderly widows, many of them had lost their husbands in The Civil War.
Many of them probably passed away there.
Around 1962, it was purchased by the state, and it was converted into a mental institution.
There's been quite a few institutions over the years that I've been investigating and, these types of buildings definitely hold on to energy.
Hi, Karyn, John Zaffis.
How are you doing? - Hello nice to meet you.
- My daughter Aimee.
Welcome to Madison Seminary.
This is the first floor of the Seminary.
At times we feel really uncomfortable in the building.
One day we noticed that the windows were open.
I came up here to close the windows and, we heard a muffled conversation between two men in the hallway.
Couldn't really understand exactly what they were saying.
Did you investigate to see if the building was broken into at all? The broken was not broken into and there was nobody else around.
Also, one night I went to reach for the door knob, and it felt like I was hit with a lead pipe.
It hit me out of thin air, and it landed between my thumb and my finger.
And basically I thought that my hand was broken.
It was terrifying and I think that there's something in the building, that was trying to intimidate me.
We're on the second floor where the mentally ill patients lived.
We have seen an apparition in this hallway, of a lady who is carrying a tray like a nurse.
Also, we have seen doors open and close.
Even though there's no other windows or doors that are open on this floor.
Karyn, what do you know about the building during the time it was a mental institution? Well, it became part of the Ohio Department of Mental Rehab in 1949.
And then it was subsequently shut down due to questionable, maybe inhumane, practices here.
Well, Karyn, I see this chair.
Was this left in the building? We do not know where this chair came from.
It was in the building.
Knowing that it was a mental institution, it is possible that perhaps it was used to restrain a patient's head.
These types of items can definitely hold on to some negative energy.
Now we're on the third floor.
We think back in the early days the children were housed up here.
It would've been typical of older buildings at the time.
People have been poked up here, their hair's been pulled.
My son Thomas has also had some experiences.
Can you tell me a little bit about what's going on here? I was down the hallway over there and it just seemed like someone about my height or a little bit shorter just came up and just grabbed Just grabbed me and just held me.
It was not a pleasant feeling.
What else have you heard or seen? Out of nowhere someone will just start screaming like they're being brutally murdered.
It's always female.
It sounds like probably the same female every time.
It does lead you to believe that something happened here.
Maybe a little bit of abuse.
Wow.
This has been found in the building.
Looks like an old field stretcher so it seems odd it would be here, but people could've died it could've been used to transport bodies.
Just think of the energy that could be holding on to.
All right, Karyn, we're gonna get the team in here.
We'll be in for a couple of nights investigating.
We'll do all we can to get some answers for ya.
- Thank you.
- Okay.
We got a lot of different things here to really check out.
So, I'm very curious to see if there's anything happening in here, that we can prove or debunk.
Jesslyn and I are gonna take the main floor.
Chris, Brian, and Jason are gonna take the second floor and the attic.
Hey, Jay, do you know anything about this chair? It's original to the building.
I mean, it looks like something that would be used in a hospital.
- Are you getting anything? - I'm getting nothing.
What do you think about an E.
V.
P.
Session? - Absolutely, let's try it.
- All right.
Recorder rolling.
Did you work here? Does something in here belong to you? Is there somebody in here with us? Can you tell us your name? Go ahead play yours back.
See if there's anything on it.
Did you work here? Does something in here belong to you? Is there somebody in here with us? [Whispering.]
- What was that saying? - Who is that? Can you tell us your name? Here with us? [Whispering.]
North.
.
- That's clear as day.
- North.
- What the hell does it mean? - I don't know.
What is this over here? That's a field stretcher.
Really? It's definitely old.
Any readings off of it? - I really haven't gotten any readings.
- This has been at zero the entire time.
- Looks like an old dumbwaiter.
- Nice.
Yeah.
You guys wanna do an E.
V.
P.
Session down here? Yeah.
Did you work here when this was a mental institution? Did you used to stay here? [Rustling.]
Is it squeaking? - Where's that coming from? - It was coming from here.
- There's nothing in here.
- There's nothing, nothing down there.
- Do you see another access point? - Yep, there's one right below us.
- Stay here.
I'll run down.
- Go, man.
Going.
Bingo.
- Hey.
- All right, what can you see? For the life of me I can't see what would've been making that noise.
All right, here's something.
I can't quite reach it.
It's attached to the end of the cable.
- Pull the cable up.
- Okay.
Okay, I got it.
What the heck is that? Hello? Get the hell out of here.
Guys, get down here.
What the hell? Are you okay, dude? Get the hell out of here.
Guys, get down here.
What the hell? - Are you okay, dude? - I'm okay.
This moved.
No.
Jay, just as soon as you pulled whatever that was up, I heard a big scrape.
And apparently this is now here.
- No.
- Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
I'm trying to find some evidence of it being dragged across the floor.
- Did you see it? - No, I just heard the noise.
I thought it was you pulling whatever it was up, but it was coming from here.
I'm not getting any readings.
Dude, this thing's gotta weigh like close to forty pounds, man.
This is what I heard.
No way.
But it, it it was even louder.
It would take a lot of energy to move this, and I'm getting no residual signature off of this whatsoever.
- What'd you pull up? - Just looked like an old piece of cloth.
I don't know what it was.
We'll have to take a closer look at it.
Let's go get it.
I mean, it's freaking as dirty as can be.
It looks like it could be maybe part of a dress.
Flip it over, are there any tags? Obliterated.
Is this a tag? No.
I think the imagination can run wild as to why a piece of clothing could be down a shaft.
But until we have some more info about this, I think let's just keep it as material evidence for tonight.
I think this is something John's gonna be interested in.
Jason and I are gonna meet with Cathy.
She's a local historian and author, and she knows a lot about the history of the Madison Seminary.
We're hoping to learn more about when it was a mental institution, when it was used to house elderly widows, and if there were any strange deaths here.
Last night during the investigation, we had a bunch of activity that was centered around this medical chair.
We've heard there was a lot of malpractice going on there and that's why it was shut down, is that true? That is not the reason it was closed down at all.
The truth is is that they ran out of money to fund it.
We also know the Seminary was home at one time for elderly war widows.
Yes, in fact this is the lot where many of them are buried.
Oh wow.
Are there any deaths in particular, that stick out in your mind that you could tell us about? There is one notable woman.
Here name was Elizabeth Brown Stiles.
And she actually was a Civil War spy for the Union.
Could you tell us a little bit more about her? The catalyst for Elizabeth's becoming a spy was her husband's death.
Her husband was killed before her eyes by Confederates.
They shot him point blank.
Being a female spy back then, how did she go about gathering intelligence? She would be disguised as a nurse.
She actually was a nurse.
In fact, she helped on a lot of amputations with the Confederacy.
That's very interesting.
In fact, this is the grave of Elizabeth Stiles.
Wow.
In light of some of this information about Elizabeth Stiles, I'm very curious.
Is she the one that's haunting this building? If she was a spy for the Union Army, this could explain the "North" E.
V.
P.
that Jess and I captured last night.
.
And her disguise as a nurse could explain the apparition that Karyn has seen.
But what is Elizabeth trying to tell us? Tonight, Jason will man the monitors on the third floor.
Brian and I will investigate the second floor.
And Jess and Chris will check out the first floor.
Now let's try some E.
V.
P.
s and see what we get.
All right.
Are you the one people see walking around? Somebody said, "North" to us last night.
What does that mean? Can you tell us what year it is? Did you see that? - Is someone down there? - Yes! It was like somebody just walked right down this hallway.
But it went this way, Chris.
There's nobody here.
- You looked in there? - Yeah, I looked in all these rooms.
There's nobody else up here with us.
It's so weird.
Are you getting anything? No, but actually that's why I brought along the V.
R.
M.
- Right in this area.
- No, I'm hearing it right here.
- Really? - Yeah.
Well, why? It's not like there's anything electrical that should be causing this.
No, I know it.
But it's just it's strange.
What the? Holy - Hey, guys, you there? - Yeah, buddy, what's up? I just had something come across the monitors.
We're gonna come right up and take a look at that, dude.
Watch on the wall behind the chair.
Oh.
Oh my God, dude! Play that again! Play that again! - There it goes.
- Dude.
Hang on a second.
I mean, if it went up through the ceiling, isn't it up here? Would be because the hallway's right over in that area over there.
Let's go check that out.
How are we supposed to figure out where this thing went? It's not like it's going to leave a footprint.
Wow, this room is really damaged.
I think it's the worst one of all of them.
What is that right there? Oh, [Bleep.]
! [Bleep.]
What is that right there? Oh, [Bleep.]
! [Bleep.]
! That thing went right back in.
Did you see that? Yeah.
Something pulled it through.
Actually, I can still see a little bit of cloth here.
Open this up.
I wanna see what that is.
Oh, yeah.
- Oh, dude.
- Oh, wait a minute, something's tied up.
It's tied up.
- Oh my goodness.
- Some mesh? Wait a minute now.
Wow.
Obviously it's too soon to jump to any conclusions, but that seems like what we pulled out yesterday.
That's right.
All right, this is definitely clothing.
I don't know what period it is or anything but, I need to get this to somebody tomorrow to see what I can find out.
Last night we found some old clothing up in the ceiling.
Today, I'm meeting with Jonathan Anderson.
He's an expert in antique clothing and a costume designer.
So I'm hoping he's gonna be able to share some information on these items.
.
This is from the 1800s because of the way it's sown, it looks like it was Either sown by hand or sown by a manual machine.
.
It has an inside pocket.
Okay.
And that's kinda rare.
It was quite uncommon.
What would the reason be that a woman would want a pocket sown into her bonnet? As big as this is, I'm assuming it's to hide stuff in there.
And this is a blouse from the 1800s.
Whoa, it looks like somebody got shot.
- It has bullet holes.
- Bullet holes? How can you tell? Because look, it's burnt over here and went through it.
Here too.
So, you're saying this person looks like they were shot? Yes, and apparently she was shot from the back.
There's two different type of bullet holes.
These are smaller and these are very big.
I'm wondering if a person could survive something like that.
.
So, she may have survived because to go through the corset, you have to go through whale bone and that's very hard.
As a spy, could Elizabeth Stiles have survived these gunshots, and buried this clothing to avoid detection? It's an intriguing possibility.
I can't wait to get together with Karyn and share some of this information.
Well, Karyn, I thank ya for inviting us in.
We were able to find out quite a bit for ya.
We looked into when the building was used to house elderly widows.
And they were widows of The Civil War and many of them died here.
And one in particular that stood out her name was Elizabeth Stiles.
Her husband was killed by the Confederate Army.
And she in turn became a spy for the Union Army, which was pretty much unheard of at that time.
In an attempt to gain intelligence, she would disguise herself as a nurse.
This is a video that was captured on the second floor.
I want you to watch the chair over here.
Wow, look at the shadow go past.
That led us to coming up here and start investigating up on the upper level.
And we discovered something in between the slats that I'd like to show you right now.
Okay.
It's a bonnet from the late 1800s.
We found it in the wall and it's pretty well preserved.
That could've been used where she was smuggling letters or smuggling anything.
Okay.
We definitely feel at this point in time it could've belonged to Elizabeth.
You have always felt that something was watching you and.
I'm wondering if it was Elizabeth that was reaching out.
Yes, yes.
I went to the state archives and I was able to find this.
This is Elizabeth Stiles' last will and testament.
This explains what she wants done with her personal belongings.
She wanted them either buried with her or to go to close friends or family members.
So, what we're doing right now is we're working on trying to locate a relative of hers.
I'm going to get together with them and, if it's okay with you, I'd like to present those items to the family.
- Okay? - Absolutely.
That would be a great thing.
And I think it will help to calm down some of that more negative energy.
- Thank you.
- You're very welcome.
Hi, John, my name is Elizabeth Bouvier.
We recently bought a farmhouse in Mendon, Massachusetts.
Since moving in, we've had a lot of paranormal activity going on.
We have light switches that will physically turn on.
There was actually footsteps running down our hallway.
My two-year-old son has actually never had a problem sleeping by himself.
He won't even go in his room.
This is really impacting our family.
We I honestly don't feel comfortable.
Can you please come out and figure out what's going on? I don't know what to do.
Okay, guys, this is a pretty severe case and I'm very concerned.
As you watch the video tape, it's to the point where her kids are scared.
Two of them are sleeping in the living room.
They won't even go back into their bedroom.
They've got a lot of activity happening in there.
That's why it's so important we try to figure out what the hell is going on, so she can have some peace in the house.
Hi, Elizabeth, John Zaffis.
Hi, John, nice to meet you.
Thank you for coming.
- This is my daughter Aimee.
- Aimee, nice to meet you.
Please, come in.
This is my bedroom.
This is where the majority of the things have been actually happening.
How long were you here in the house before activity started? - First night.
- The first night? The first night.
So many noises going on in here.
Lots of footsteps, banging.
We've heard children.
I know it's a kid knocking on the side of the house.
We've only been here a few months and things They're escalating.
This is supposed to be my home.
It is not.
I jumped up, came around the corner, and there was nobody there.
My two-year-old woke up screaming.
What the hell is that? - You gotta be kidding me.
- It's the same thing.
Right there.
Oh my God! I see you got quite a collection of swords and things around here.
Yeah, we collect various items.
A lot of them have come from my parent's attic, auctions.
We like the way they look.
I think they're pretty cool.
I really like this one.
I know nothing about it.
It looks like a bowie knife and bowie knives were named after Jim bowie, who used a large knife in a duel.
And in the duel bowie was stabbed, shot, and practically beaten to death, but he managed to live because he was using this knife.
You definitely can tell that it's been used.
It's definitely got those stains.
A lot of times that can come from blood remaining on it.
It will deteriorate the metal like that.
Has anyone else ever experienced anything happen to them? - Yes.
- Okay.
My husband Chad.
So tell me a little bit about what's been happening here in the house.
Well, I was laying down in bed.
It was 12:01 at night and as soon as we shut the television off I heard like a fifty pound child running down the hallway barefoot, and the footsteps stopped right at the door.
So instantly I jumped up, came around the corner, and there was nobody there.
And you checked on the kids? You made sure that none of them were out of bed? Yeah, they were all sleeping.
Out like lights.
I went through the whole house.
I checked upstairs in the attic.
I know what I heard wasn't an animal.
It was definitely bare feet.
That just left me baffled.
This is the TV room/bedroom.
Okay.
This is where my children are sleeping now.
They refuse to go upstairs.
They're petrified.
That first night, my two-year-old he woke up screaming.
Screaming that there was a man.
There's a man in my room.
He won't go up there.
So, they sleep in here now.
Anything in particular as far as activity? We have heard somebody walking upstairs.
It doesn't make sense because there's no floor above us.
It's one level.
Also, the fan will turn on.
The light switches will turn on.
Have you had your husband check anything about the electric in the house? He'll check everything.
We can't explain it.
I noticed there's a lot farm things in here, where did all this stuff come from? My husband Chad.
Everything in here he's found.
The shovel we actually found the first week we moved in.
That looks very old.
I mean, that looks all hand-forged, and I would say that it probably might even predate the house.
Wow.
- This is our basement.
- Mm hmm.
- I don't feel comfortable down here.
- Okay.
I did some research that people used to hide coins and stuff in the walls.
Yes.
So I said, oh, I'll look around downstairs, see if there's anything.
- I didn't find coins.
- Okay.
The first thing I actually found was this.
- It's a bone and a pendant.
- Okay.
Were you able to find anything out about them or - Nothing.
I looked.
- Nothing.
I can't even find any symbols that would match that.
Wow.
Well, Aimee, that's gonna be something to check into to see if we can find out what any of that represents.
I definitely would say that there's a bone here.
I doubt that's human.
That makes me feel better.
All right, well we're gonna get the team in here.
We'll be investigating for a couple of nights and let's see what we can find out for ya.
Thank you so much, John.
We want you to feel comfortable in your home with your children.
I do, too.
For tonight's investigation, Jess and I are gonna be getting down into that basement, where several items have been found.
All right.
I'm gonna have Chris and Brian on the main floor, especially in that hallway where there's reported footsteps.
What have we got here? Now, the client's reported hearing bare feet on the floor.
This is just regular paper But on it I sprayed a layer of thermo-chromatic paint.
At 86 degrees, if whatever is walking through this hallway has heat to it.
This should catch it.
- As long as it's 86 degrees or hotter.
- Yeah, I see that.
Let me just make sure.
Do my shoes set it off? No.
My footsteps don't do it.
It's gotta be 86 degrees or it's a no go.
All right.
All right now that this is down let's get the rest of the equipment, we're good to go lights out.
- Yeah, let's get into it.
- All right.
Now what's the deal with all these farm tools? It's a hobby they like, I guess, treasure hunting, if you will.
But this shovel is original to the property, they got it here.
I'm not getting any readings.
All right, you know what? Grab the shovel.
Let's bring it to the middle of the room.
And let's just do a little E.
V.
P.
Session around it.
Recording.
Are you the one that they hear running throughout the house? No way.
Did you cause that? Nope.
There's no remote.
I haven't been near it.
You've gotta be kidding me.
They haven't reported any electrical disturbances in here, right? Well, they have.
I just don't know if it really pertains to the TV.
Is there a power switch over there? Oh, there we go.
Okay, that's weird.
Jess, I went ahead all the way towards the back here, I wanna show you a few items.
Elizabeth found these things in the walls.
Definitely getting some energy off of these items.
Did she say where in the wall she's pulling this stuff out of? Like these holes like right here? Put the light in there.
Let's see.
These look kinda loose.
Like what about this one? - Oh, come on.
- That's is loose.
- What a second.
Let's see.
- You're making me nervous.
Oh my gosh! What's this? Wait, John, this isn't a rock.
This is the same thing as this.
- It's another one.
- Oh yeah, look at that.
- It's the same thing! - Wow.
What the hell are these things? I don't know, but I'll tell you one thing, something's trying to tell us something here.
Sword and knife collecting, yet another one of their hobbies.
I'm not getting anything.
What about this one? It looks like a ceremonial sword.
Is this of any value to you? Do you want this? Do you hear anything? - No, but come take a look at this.
- Is there something there? Yeah, you put the thermal over there, didn't you? - Yeah.
- Grab it.
What do you see? What the hell is that? - Whoa! - What? - Dude, they're [Bleep.]
moving! - Are you kidding me? What the hell? What the hell? - Whoa! - What? - Dude, they're [Bleep.]
moving.
- Are you kidding me? What the hell? Now pan back over here.
- You're recording this, right? - Yeah.
- This is big.
We gotta show your dad this.
- All right.
- John, you've got to see this.
- Okay.
It started out with two sets just standing there, but now look.
- Yeah, I see that.
- It appears to be walking down the hall.
Okay, you had the activity, there's reports of it in the hallway, and she found another piece of one of those medallion-looking things.
Pulled it right out of the wall.
We got quite a bit that's been going on here, let's wrap up for tonight, all right? - Okay.
- Okay.
During last night's investigation, Chris and Brian got some pretty incredible thermal evidence.
So Jason and I are headed to the library to see if we can find any usual deaths, that may have taken place around the house or in the house.
What did you find? It's a death certificate of a young boy who died in the area.
Okay.
If you look at the name on it, it's Arthur Albee.
He died when he was seven years old.
So I was able to find an article and he was sitting on a bridge with his sister.
He accidentally fell over and he drowned.
So, this is a map of the area here, and this is actually where Elizabeth's house is now.
- Okay.
- And if you look There's a little pond here and there's all these little creeks and rivers that run through the area.
So, it was an untimely tragic death.
That is interesting that he died in such close proximity.
Learning about the little boy who passed away may be significant, but we also still have these pendants.
I'm not sure yet if there is a connection here, but hopefully we can find out tonight.
Jason and I will investigate the basement.
While Jess, Brian, and Chris set up an experiment involving video feedback on the television set.
All right, guys, this is the crash course.
Back in the day when we used to do this, was with the old tube TVs.
Because the television kept turning on last night by itself, I figured now is the best time to employ something called the video feedback loop.
I'll be setting up a camera aimed at the television.
It's just gonna be recording what it sees, looping back on itself over and over into infinity.
All right, you see that? It's getting that infinity effect.
- Wow.
- Weird.
The theory is that spirits can manipulate the pixels, to show themselves through the feedback.
I'm gonna go ahead and start with some questions.
Yeah.
Got my recorder here just in case.
Is there someone here that's trying to make contact, trying to reach out? Were you the one that turned on the TV last night? Do you have a message for the home owners? Okay, guys, we're gonna have to go through this frame by frame.
While you guys listen to audio, I'll load this on the computer and see if anything came up.
All right.
These are some of the things that got pulled out of the wall.
Wow.
See if we get any readings off any of these other - We weren't getting anything.
- Yesterday either? - No, nothing.
- Okay.
Well, you wanna do an E.
V.
P.
Session or Yeah.
I'm very curious.
Did this belong to you? Does this mean anything to you? Is there something that you're looking for? - You wanna do a playback? - Yeah, let's see, dude.
Did this belong to you? Does this mean anything to you? [Whispering.]
Whoa.
Yeah, but what's it saying? I can't Does this mean anything to you? [Whispering.]
Huckle? Huckles? .
Do you have any idea what that means? I don't know, but we're gonna have to find out if it does mean anything at all.
That's weird, man.
Is there someone here that's trying to make contact, trying to reach out? Were you the one that turned on the TV last night? Do you have a message for the home owners? Nothing.
Yeah, it didn't seem like we were getting that much.
- Hey, buddy, you getting anything? - Hey I'm glad you're here.
Come look at this.
This was something that popped out at me before as a little weird.
It's kinda towards the end.
Going forward.
Go forward.
All right, hang on a second.
Let me just go a little back.
Okay, there's nothing and then all of a sudden - Right there! - That.
- Are you seeing that? - Oh my God! Okay, there's nothing and then all of a sudden - Right there! - That.
- Are you seeing that? - Oh my God! Look at that.
- Right there.
- There's lips, almost like a smile.
The nose, the nostrils, up to the eye, side of the face.
It's only in that one frame.
That's creepy.
- Hey.
- Hey.
- What do you got? - All right, watch this.
Whoa.
Wow, that looks like a little boy, dude.
That's amazing.
We've got an E.
V.
P.
what do you think it's actually saying? I think it says Huckle.
And we got that right near this little pendant thing, and now you're capturing a little boy.
I think the consensus is we're dealing with a child spirit here.
Definitely need to get this to somebody else to get more information.
All right, guys, good work.
Let's wrap up.
You got it.
We've collected a lot of evidence during this investigation.
And I'm beginning to wonder if these pendants somehow relate to what's been happening here.
So, I'm meeting with Corinna Taylor.
She's an antiques dealer who specializes in ceramics.
Ooh! Well, this is very interesting.
This is actually made by a child.
Okay.
Children used to take clay and press burlap into the clay.
Okay.
And what they would do is they would play a game called Hide the Key.
It's also called Hide the Thimble sometimes.
- Okay.
- Because they would hide the objects.
- All right.
- And then you'd have to find the object.
When they found it, they would yell, Huckle buckle.
Or, Huckle Bean Stock.
- Huckle buckle, huh? - Huckle buckle.
Okay.
What time framing would you say this would be? I would say probably late 1800s, 1890, somewhere in there.
All right, that would definitely make a lot of sense to me.
- Thank you.
- You're very welcome.
If this pendant is a child's toy and it was handmade, I'm wondering if it's actually tying in.
I'm not quite sure, but I definitely feel I have some really good information for Elizabeth.
Well, thank you for inviting us in.
We conducted quite a few different experiments.
The one piece of footage I'd like to show ya, is something we had captured with the thermal imager right here in the hallways.
As you can see, several little footprints.
- Okay.
- Oh my God.
But the next one is even more compelling.
We took a camera and we set up in front of the TV set, and we were able to capture something.
And I want you to take a close look and you'll see it.
Oh my God! No! Oh my God! That was incredible.
I wasn't able to find any deaths in the house.
However, I was able to find the death of the seven-year-old boy in the area.
And his name was Arthur Albee.
- Drowning.
- Mm hmm.
And this is a map of the area during that time.
This is the pond where he drowned and it's only 100 yards from your house.
Oh.
As we were going through and investigating everything, we ended up pulling out something else.
What? Kids would play a game called Huckle Bean Stock.
And they would make these things and they would hide them, all over in different locations.
So, we're never gonna be 100 percent sure, but we got this possibility this little boy drowned.
And the game was never completed.
Okay.
Do I feel that you had a child spirit here in the house? Yes.
I don't even know what to think.
I'm happy that you found What was going on.
It just makes me sad.
It hits home.
I don't know what to think.
So, my recommendation is it'll be removed, and put down into the museum down in Connecticut.
And there will be a binding over it.
- I think we should do that.
- If we could help that boy out That's gonna help him cross over.
- I agree.
- Okay.
The innocence of childhood often fades with age.
But if Arthur's life was tragically cut short, this little boy's spirit may not understand that playtime is over.
By binding the pendant with salt, I'm hoping this child can finally finish the game, he started long ago.
And be at peace.
