Heartland (CA) s10e14 Episode Script

Written in the Stars

1 Amy: Previously on "Heartland": - Mallory?! - Hey, Jack! I can't be with someone who doesn't trust me.
So what, you're breaking up with me? Yeah.
I think I am.
Mitch: Lou, I made a decision.
I've decided to stay.
Does this mean what I think it means? 'Cause I don't wanna rush you and I know that (Kissing) Jack: So, how long you plan on sticking around? Trying to get rid of me already, Jack? (Jack laughs, hooves thud, tack jingles) Jake! What're you doing here? (Birds chirp) - I don't know what to say.
- You're at a loss for words? I didn't think that was possible.
I'm so sorry, Jake.
I shouldn't have left you alone in Paris like that.
Why didn't you return my phone calls? I needed time to think.
Well, does that mean that you made up your mind? (Birds chirp) Mallory? (Birds chirp) (Door bangs shut, Remy barks) - Hey, Scott! - Jack.
Amy.
Sorry for dropping by without calling.
I got a horse in the trailer I was hoping you'd take a look at.
Yeah, of course.
I'd appreciate your opinion too, Jack.
Yeah, sure, no problem.
(Gate clanks open) (Horse grunts, hooves thunk loudly) Well, this here is Tab.
He's supposed to be a champion cutting horse.
- Supposed to be? - Well, his sire and dam, they produced a lot of high caliber cutting horses.
Well, good breeding, that doesn't guarantee anything.
That's what I told the owner, but he's convinced something's wrong.
I did some tests, but they all came back normal.
I was hoping you guys could figure this out.
Okay, but what if he's just not good at being a cutting horse? He'll be put up for auction.
My client's only interested in winners.
- Typical.
- Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
Best thing to do is get Tab here working with some cattle and we'll go from there.
Come on, boy.
(Clicks tongue) Too many times I've been hurt And my mind's turning to whatever now I've spent too many nights in the place Where I didn't think I'd be going back Lou: (Muffled) Georgie! Hey! I'm finding it hard to believe (Muffled) Georgie! That this is getting any better now Hey, sorry.
I knocked, but you didn't answer.
(Music plays through headphones) Uh is everything okay? Are you all right? Yeah.
Why wouldn't I be? Well, I'm trying to come up with numbers for dinner.
Uh, do you know if Adam's coming? No.
No, no, I don't I don't think so.
(Music plays through headphones) Is that all? Yeah, yeah, that's all.
(Headphones rattle) I don't wann be the only fool I don't wanna be the only fool - (Screen door bangs shut) - Hey! Hello, Lou! I was thinking about making a roast for dinner tonight.
Oh, that sounds nice.
I was also thinking maybe we could invite Mitch to join us.
Mitch? Yeah.
You know, he's been working for us for over a year, And I thought it was time to invite him for dinner, don't you think? Oh, I think that's a fine idea.
Good.
Oh! I'm starving! I think being back in the countryside has given me an appetite.
(Jack Chuckles) I think it's the fresh air.
Do you have any yogurt left? We're all out, but I'll pick some up.
- Mm - Oh, uh What's Jake doing back in town? And is everything okay? Everything's great.
We had a serious talk, and we decided to get married.
Could you get the Greek stuff? Vanilla if they have it.
If they're out, I'll settle for coconut.
Wait.
What? I don't mind coconut, it's just that vanilla's my favorite.
(Dumbfounded silence) That's not what you meant.
Jake and I are getting married.
S10E14 Written in the Stars And at the break of day you sank into your dream You dreamer Oh, oh, oh, oh You dreamer You dreamer Wow! That's amazing news! Isn't that amazing news, Grandpa? Uh it seems to be coming right out of the blue.
Not really.
Jake proposed to me two weeks ago in Paris, but I needed some time to think.
That's why I came here.
But I'm glad I did, because it kinda just put everything into perspective.
Okay.
So when's the big day? I think we're just gonna sign some papers at town hall, - probably sometime tomorrow.
- What, tomorrow! Tomorrow? Why the big rush? It's just easier that way.
We don't want our parents to know.
At least till after it's done.
- Why not? - Well, Jake's mom and dad are in the middle of a messy divorce.
And as soon as my parents get involved, it'll become a circus.
Every B-list country star will be on the guest list, and my dad's gonna wanna sing.
No.
Okay, I understand that family can be a lot of hassle at times, but this is your wedding we're talking about here.
You don't wanna have any regrets.
Can you please be happy for me? Jack: We're happy for you As long as this is what you both really want.
It is.
Okay then, well, if that's the case, I guess we better have Jake over for dinner tonight.
Right, Lou? - Tonight? - Yup.
Yes! Yeah, of course.
We should all just celebrate together.
Mitch: You said it was gonna be a quiet dinner.
I know! But how was I supposed to know that Jack was gonna turn it into an engagement party for Mallory and Jake? I think we should just stick to the plan.
No, it's gonna be way too weird, Mitch.
We'll just have to find another time to tell everyone about you know us.
When? I don't know.
When I come back from New York.
I mean the next time I come back from New York.
Two weeks?! Lou (Frustrated sigh) we need to tell people now.
Let's just tell everybody at dinner tonight just rip it off like a band aid.
Yeah, nothing says romance like ripping off a band aid.
(Sighs) You know what I meant.
Okay, fine, you're right.
I don't know what I'm so worried about.
I mean, this is the easy part, right? Wait till we have to tell my dad when he comes back into town next week.
(Sighs) Yeah, and I'm not looking forward to that.
Let's not think about it.
Besides, you're a trained soldier.
You'll be fine, right? (Brief kiss, playful taps) (Receding footsteps) Yeah.
Jack: That's it.
(Tag snorts) Got one more.
(Steer bellows) Come on! (Steer bellows) Get after it.
(Steer bellows) (Hooves thud) Go on.
Go away.
(Steer moos) Yup.
That's it, follow the crowd.
Scott Cardinal! Mallory! - It's so good to see you! - You too! Congratulations.
I heard the good news.
Amy: Yeah, congrats! (Chuckles) Talk about taking the plunge.
I know, right? (Chuckles) So what do you think, Jack? Well He doesn't read the cow right and he's pretty slow on his turns.
Do you think he'll improve? Yeah maybe with some more training, but if you're asking me if I think he's gonna be a champion one day, you're not gonna like my answer.
Well, we're not gonna give up just yet.
I'd love to keep him for a few days - and see what we can do.
- All right.
Well, thanks.
I gotta get back to the clinic.
I'll see you guys later.
(Tag grunts, hooves thud) Hey, Scott! I forgot to tell you, we're having a big dinner tonight to celebrate my engagement.
You should definitely come.
(Sharp inhale, slow exhale) I'd love to, but I have a lot of work to catch up on.
Please? It's not like I get married everyday.
It'd mean a lot to me.
(Laughs) Yeah, okay.
- Sure.
I'll be there.
- That's great! Um drop by anytime around seven.
- Sure.
- Hey, Scott? Are you still single? Never mind.
I'll see you tonight.
(Door bangs shut, engine starts) (Truck rumbles) (Sighs) Georgie? (Birds chirp outside) (Footsteps thud lightly) (Paper rustles) (Approaching footsteps) What're you doing? Oh, I just came by to pick up your laundry.
You know, you should really put this stuff in the hamper, sweetie.
Where were you? - Oh, I was just out with Remy.
- Good.
Okay, well, dinner is around seven, okay? Okay.
You know, honey, if there was ever anything you needed to talk to me about, I'm here.
I know.
Okay, well see you at dinner.
(Chair creaks) (Roasting dish scrapes on rack, oven door bangs shut) (Knock at the door) Amy: I'll get it.
- Lisa: That smells good.
- Lou: Yeah, I hope so.
- Amy: Hey, Scott! - Scott: Hi, how's it going? - Scott?! - Jack: Well, Scott.
Scott: Jack.
Lou: What a surprise! What brings you by? I invited him.
Since it's my big night and all, I thought the more the merrier, right? - Yeah, of course.
Absolutely.
- Lisa: Well, it's very nice you could join our little celebration.
It is! Can I get you a beer here? Yeah, sure, thanks.
'Kay.
Come on into the living room.
(Bottle opener clatters) Thank you.
Amy: (Clears throat) Mallory? You're not trying to play matchmaker - with Lou and Scott, are you? - Of course not.
But, I mean, Peter is out of the way, so I don't know.
Anything can happen.
(Knock at the door) (Running footsteps) Oh, I got it.
(Amy sighs, door creaks open) (Birds chirp) Jake! Look at you all grown up.
I mean, of course you're grown up.
You're getting married! It's good to see you, Lou.
Thank you for having me.
Yeah, of course.
Where are my manners? Jake, Mitch.
Mitch, Jake.
Uh, we just we just met.
Why don't you head on in the house.
I just, um, have to have a word with Mitch about something.
It's not-it's not important.
(Under breath) Come here! What? - What? Is everything okay? - No.
Everything is not okay.
Mallory invited Scott and he's in the house right now.
- Who? - Scott Cardinal, the vet.
Okay.
So? So, Scott and I, like ages ago, long before Peter and I Oh, God, he's another ex, isn't he? Very past tense, okay? Like a million years ago.
But still, telling everybody about us in front of him, it's it's gonna be awkward.
Yeah, but it was like a million years ago, Lou, - what does it matter? - It just it doesn't feel right, okay? Look, I know you're disappointed, but we've waited this long, what's a couple more days? Or weeks or whatever it takes.
But I promise we're gonna tell everyone when the time is right, okay? - Okay.
- (Snorts softly) Thanks for understanding.
(Screen door creaks) (Bag rustles) (Bag rustles, door closes softly) What's wrong? Did you forget where the garbage can is? Can you actually take it outside? I wanna get dressed before dinner.
- Yeah, sure.
- Thanks.
(Door opens) Hey.
Mitch.
- Hey, Amy.
I uh, got you this.
- Oh.
Well, I mean it's not for you specifically because you're pregnant.
Obviously.
You know, why don't I just open that up right now.
- Sure.
- Yeah.
(Unscrews cap) Thank you.
(Wine pours, Lou sighs) (Dishes and utensils clank) (Fire crackles) Okay.
Before we get too far into dinner, I wanted to say a few words.
So Mallory and Jake, I have known them since they were little kids.
But when I look at the two of you now, well, it's pretty obvious that you're not so little anymore.
So here's the thing.
There's no blueprint for building the perfect marriage, but it sure helps if you've got a solid foundation.
Mallory and Jake, well, they've been building that foundation for nigh on ten years.
First as friends, and now, as this lovely couple that's sitting at our table tonight.
I just want to say congratulations and here's to a wonderful, happy future.
- Cheers.
- Cheers, guys.
- Cheers.
- Cheers.
- Lou: Cheers.
- Cheers.
- Cheers.
- Cheers.
Jake: Thanks, Jack.
And thank you all for, for having us over.
It means a lot to Mallory and I.
Yeah, thanks everyone.
Of all the free meals I've mooched from you guys, this is definitely the best one.
All: (Chuckling) So do you have any honeymoon plans? We haven't really talked about it, but I mean, I'm sure we'll go somewhere.
Uh, I w-wouldn't mind staying around in Hudson for awhile.
You know, lay down some roots.
Mm.
Well, we're not gonna plant them too deep because there's still a lot of traveling that we'd like to do.
I just meant it might be nice to be home for a while.
Mm We'll talk about that later.
Scott, Grandpa and I worked with Tab a little more today.
Well, how's that working out? (Sighs) Not great.
He's a good horse, but he's definitely not gonna be a champion cutter.
Yeah, well, thanks for trying.
Hopefully he'll find a better home at the auction.
Wait, are you serious? His owner' gonna sell him because he's not winning? Yeah, it actually happens a lot.
Yeah, you know, especially in this economy.
People can't afford to hold on to horses - that aren't performing.
- Well, what happens - if no one wants to buy him? - Well, everyone knows that that if horses don't sell at the auction then they end up on the meat truck.
What's the meat truck? (Fire crackles) Honey, aren't your hands all yucky from the gravy? Why don't you go give them a wash? - Okay.
- I am so sorry.
- (Knocking) - It's okay.
Who could that be? I'll get it.
Georgie, does the Extreme Team need any more horses? Yeah, Natalie is always looking for a good trick riding horse.
Why? Well, I know this is a long shot, but maybe we could re-train Tab to be a trick riding horse.
- Really? - Yeah.
I mean, I'd rather sell him to Natalie than him go to auction.
Georgie: Okay, yeah.
Georgie Adam's outside.
I I told him that we're in the middle of dinner.
He says he wants to talk to you.
Okay.
Do you want me to send him away? It's fine.
(Blows out her breath) (Footsteps thud heavily, utensils clank) (Birds chirp, approaching footsteps) (Door creaks open) Before you say anything, I haven't changed my mind, so That's not why I'm here.
I need my math textbook to study for the test on Monday.
It's in your room.
Can you get it for me please? (Sighs) Yeah.
And you might as well get the rest of my stuff too.
The comic books I lent and the jacket, the blue one.
You need all that right now? No.
I just don't wanna come back for it.
(Deep breath) Okay.
(Door snicks open) (Door bangs closed) (Footsteps thud on stairs) So you two, when Ty and I first got married, the question everyone wanted to know was when are you gonna have kids? So just be prepared.
But don't feel like you have to answer them because it's nobody's business but yours.
No, nobody's business.
But when are you gonna have kids? - All: (Laughing) - One day for sure.
Well, one day in the very, very distant future.
Uh, not too distant, I hope.
Another thing we can talk about later.
(Footsteps thud on stairs) (Door creaks open and snaps shut) Thank you.
That's it? Yup.
That's it.
You're just gonna leave without saying anything? You're the one who broke up with me, right? (Receding footsteps) (Door snicks open, Georgie sighs) Well, there wasn't enough time to order a real wedding cake, but this should do the trick.
Wow, that's amazing, Lou.
Thank you.
Mallory, why don't you do the honors? (Muffled) Mallory? (Distorted ticking) Mallory? I'm I'm so sorry, Jake.
I can't Jake, I can't do this.
- You can't what, cut the cake? - I can't marry you.
(Receding footsteps) (Fire crackles) (Embarrassed sigh, fire crackles) (Loud knock, door clicks open) Jake just left.
I thought you'd wanna know.
You must think I'm such a fool.
No I don't.
I don't know what happened, Jack.
I saw the bride and the groom standing on top of the cake and it just looked cemented in the icing like they couldn't move.
Stuck there in one place for the rest of their life.
Together forever.
That's a bit dramatic, don't you think? Maybe a little, but I realized that Jake wants to settle down and have a family and I'm just not ready for that yet.
Well, it's better to realize that now than after you walk down the aisle.
I used to think that two people were meant to be together.
You know, like it's written in the stars.
But I think that's just a stupid story they tell little girls, right? I Jake and I aren't meant to be together anymore than Lou and Scott.
Lou and Scott? Don't tell me that's why you invited him for dinner? I realize now how monumentally idiotic that was.
But how was I supposed to know that she was all hot and heavy with Mitch? (Crickets chirp outside) Oops.
I don't think I'm supposed to know that.
Can you just forget what I said? Well, at my age, I forget a lot of things.
I'm pretty sure I won't be forgetting that.
Now what are you doing? Packing.
I'm gonna head off first thing in the morning.
Oh, don't be silly.
Stay for a few days.
(Clothes rustle) Mallory, you're in no state of mind to make any big decisions.
You need to just slow down, at least until you get your bearings.
What do you say? (Crickets chirp) This was supposed to be the best day of my life.
How did it become the worst? (Chuckles softly) I know it seems bad at the moment, but things will be clearer in the morning.
(Birds chirp) (Hooves clop, Tab snorts softly) You sure you're up for this? Yeah.
Yeah, of course.
Georgie, last night at dinner when Adam stopped by I don't wanna talk about Adam.
- I'm just here to work.
- Okay.
Let's get started then.
(Cattle moo) - Jack: That's it.
- Mitch: Hup! - Jack: Nice easy pace.
- Mitch: Hup! Jack: Keep 'em moving.
(Cattle bellow) - Mitch: Ha! - Jack: (Whistles) Mitch: So that was quite the dinner last night, huh? Jack: Yeah.
(Cattle bellow) Something eating you, Jack? Yeah.
I don't like secrets.
It's fine if people got 'em, I just don't wanna know about 'em.
But see, that's the problem with secrets.
They don't stay secret for very long.
Taking a guess here, but uh I'm thinking you know about me and Lou.
Mm-hmm.
Well, I don't want to, but yeah, I do.
Look, Jack, we were gonna tell everybody last night.
Things just turned upside down.
It doesn't exactly surprise me that the two of you ended up together, so alls I'm gonna say about it is this.
Lou's been through a lot last couple of years, so I trust you'll treat her right.
I will.
I swear.
That's all we need to say about it.
(Relieved sigh) Gee I've been sweating bullets thinking about telling you today.
Well, don't sweat bullets on my account.
- Save that for Tim.
- Mitch: Yeah.
Any advice? (Horse grunts) Sure.
That trailer you sleep in it's got a lock on the door, right? Yeah.
Why? Well, I suggest you use it.
Or sleep with one eye open.
Maybe both.
(Hooves thud) (Clucks tongue, horse grunts) Hey, Mallory.
How're you doing? I'm a sinking ship on a vast ocean of despair.
(Horses grunt and shift in the stalls) Jake won't return my phone calls, but I guess I deserve that.
Well, I'm sorry to hear that.
On the bright side, I booked my ticket back to London.
- When do you leave? - Tomorrow.
But I want to make myself useful until then, so if you need anybody to muck out or clean the tack, I'm your girl.
Actually, I could use your help with Tab.
Okay, Georgie, why don't you start by stepping on and off and then we'll build up slowly from there.
(Hooves thud, Tab grunts) Come on, boy, let's go.
Go on.
Yeah, that's it! Keep him moving forward, Mallory.
Let's go, boy! Come on! (Hooves thud loudly) Good boy.
(Sighs) Tab's running a lot smoother now.
I don't think he needs to be ponied anymore.
Okay.
Well, after our break then we'll try with just the reins.
I'm parched.
Do you have anything to drink? Yeah, there should be some iced tea in the fridge.
I have a call scheduled with Ty, but it shouldn't take long.
(Key clacks, music ringtone plays) (Phone dings, insects buzz) (Phone dings, goats bleat) Yo! What's up, Amy? - Bob! Hey! - You look huge! Ty: Hey! Don't call her huge, you idiot.
Sorry.
You look tiny.
I can't even tell you're pregnant.
Thanks.
What is Ty doing? Oh, he's hanging out with his new friends.
I'm just in the middle of inoculating the herd.
Here.
(Laughs) Hi, Ty! Oh, hey, Georgie! Hello fellow world traveler.
Mallory! I heard you were in town.
Look at you! - How long has it been? - It's been too long.
You know, no offence, Ty, but your fashion sense has kinda gone downhill.
You look a little homeless.
Well, it's good to see you too.
Can you put Amy back on? - Bye.
- Hey, you look busy.
I'll let you go.
I love you.
I love you too.
Miss you.
Bob: Awwww! Aren't you two so adorable?! - Muah, muah, muah - Hey! Give me that.
Okay, okay.
All right! (Laughs) Bye, Bob! (Computer dings) (Glass thumps lightly) Oh my god, I'm such an idiot.
- What? - You and Ty are together, but you're in different countries, and it doesn't matter because you love each other and you support each other no matter what.
Well, yeah, that's kinda what a marriage is all about.
If I wanted to go to Mongolia, Jake would totally support me.
He wouldn't even ask why.
He would just go online and search for the best airfare.
He Jake would never stand in my way if I wanted to do something.
Even if I was deep sea diving or dyeing my hair eggplant purple.
Well, you and Jake have always been good friends.
Yeah, and he's he's been my best friend for ten years.
I love him.
I love him.
I have to go.
Well, where are you going? I'm gonna go find Jake.
Maybe it's not too late.
Mallory, you should think about this first.
No.
That's the problem.
I've been thinking way too much.
(Georgie sighs) Amy: Okay, Georgie, good job.
Let's see if he knows the pattern.
(Hooves thud) That was great! I think he's ready to try it without the reins.
(Sighs) Okay.
All right.
(Hooves thud) Good boy.
Agghhh! (Tab grunts) Why are you stopping? Georgie, just bring him in.
- (Hooves thud) - Whoa What happened? - I don't know.
- Maybe we're going too fast.
Maybe not fast enough.
While Tab's loping he has too much time to think.
If we gallop, his instincts will kick in.
I don't know, Georgie.
If he stops again, then it could become a really bad habit, and you could get hurt.
We can do it at a gallop.
I know we can.
Okay.
I believe you.
But I think he's had enough for today.
Why don't we try first thing in the morning? Okay.
(Winnebago rumbles) (Door bangs shut, Winnebago rumbles to a halt) Hey! Nice wheels.
(Door bangs shut) I got your text.
What'd you wanna tell me? Last night I got scared, and I'm sorry.
(Scoffs) Okay.
Well, have a nice life.
Hey, Jake, wait.
Today I saw Ty in Mongolia, and I saw Amy retraining a cutting horse.
They're married and they're still both doing what they love because marriage is more than just settling down and having kids.
Settling down and having kids isn't the reason why - I proposed to you.
- It's not? No! I-I just wanna be with you.
If-if that means spending the rest of our lives traveling around the world, then I'm on board as long as we're in it together.
That's that's all I've ever wanted.
- That's all I want.
- Are you sure? Because you change your mind like the wind, Mallory, and I can't keep up with you.
I got cold feet, that's all.
I do wanna marry you.
I promise I won't change my mind again.
After you broke things off, I decided to start driving down to Mexico.
I borrowed that from my cousin.
Mexico.
Wow, that would be an amazing adventure.
I think - I'm still gonna go.
- Okay.
I'll come with you.
No.
I'm gonna do this by myself.
Bye, Mallory.
(Rubs arm gently, Receding footsteps) (Door creaks open, bangs shut) (Engine starts and rumbles) (Winnebago rumbles away) Lou: How did he find out about us? I don't know.
Does it matter? I'm glad he knows.
Cat's out of the bag, we can tell everybody now.
I don't know.
I'm worried about how Georgie's gonna react.
She's fragile right now.
Why, 'cause her and Adam are fighting? No, it's more than a fight.
I'm pretty sure they broke up.
I mean, she's heartbroken.
The last thing she's gonna wanna hear is that you and I are together.
Is that really the reason? Or are you just avoiding telling your daughters about us? - How can you say that? - Lou, you keep waiting for this perfect time to tell everybody, but there's not gonna be a perfect time.
I don't wanna pretend that I'm just I'm just the ranch hand to your girls anymore.
I want this to be real.
I thought you did too.
(Birds chirp) (Lou sighs) Good boy, Tab.
You worked hard today, didn't ya? Hey? You're sweet.
Good boy.
(Tab snorts, Georgie laughs) - Hey, Georgie.
- Hey.
I have some bad news.
- What is it? - Scott just called.
He's coming to pick up Tab tomorrow.
We're not finished training him yet.
I know.
But the owner doesn't wanna wait.
He's putting Tab in an auction tomorrow.
He can't! We're selling him to the Extreme Team.
We made some great progress today, but he is far from a finished trick riding horse.
We just ran out of time.
(Sighs) (Utensils clank) Here, honey.
(Utensils scrape) (Fire crackles) Everyone is so quiet.
I lost the love of my life today.
What's your excuse? So I take it things didn't go very well with Jake? That's the understatement of the year.
But this is my last night here, so let's focus on the positive.
Here's to good things on the horizon.
Ty coming home, Amy's baby, Lou's new man Manhattan business ventures.
Thanks to everyone for making me feel welcome the past few days.
- Well, cheers to all of that.
- All: Cheers! - Katie: Cheers.
- Amy and Jack: Cheers.
You know what? Actually, there is something I've been meaning to tell you all.
Um, the reason I invited Mitch for dinner yesterday was that I um we wanted to tell everyone about us, about our relationship.
Katie: What's a relationship? (Sighs) Well, honey, a relationship is when two people like each other and they wanna spend a lot of time together.
That's a great idea! I love Mitch! (Chair scrapes) Georgie Just let her be.
(Footsteps thud heavily) (Sighs heavily) (Birds chirp, rooster crows) (Sighs heavily) (Sighs heavily) (Bedding rustles) (Sighs heavily) (Tab grunts, hooves clop) (Hooves thud) (Tab whinnies) Aggghh! Ungh! Ungh, ungh (Crying in pain) (Running footsteps) Honey, are you okay? Sweetheart, what's wrong? Please, talk to me.
Please.
(Crying) I don't know what's wrong! I can't stop feeling like this.
I'm the one who broke up with Adam, so why does it hurt so much? - Come here.
- (Sobbing) - Shhh it's okay.
- (Sobbing) - It's okay - (Sobbing) Shhh No, no it's okay.
Shhh it's okay.
- Lou: Is that okay? - Georgie: (Wincing) Yup.
Ooh sorry, sweetie.
(Wincing) Okay.
It's not that bad.
I've had way worse falls.
Yeah, well, a bruised elbow is easy.
A little ice and you're good as new.
(Sharp inhale) But a broken heart that's a lot harder.
Trust me, I know.
When things with your dad ended, I thought I would never feel like myself again.
But then you moved on with Mitch.
How do you feel about that? Oh, I don't know.
Getting used to you dating was one thing, but you being in an actual relationship is a little weird.
(Sighs) I like Mitch though.
And, you know, even though it doesn't feel like it right now, eventually you're gonna be ready to move on too.
I just wish Adam trusted me, but he didn't.
Why? What do you mean? He read my texts, and now I can never trust him.
(Sighs) Yeah.
Well, you can't have a relationship without trust, can you? Georgie: Wait! (Gate clanks open) I know why Tab's stopping when I drop the reins.
He doesn't trust the feeling of me standing in the saddle.
Okay.
So what do we do about it? I just need more time.
Scott: The owner, he's waiting for me at the auction house.
Please, Scott.
I can prove Tab will be a great trick riding horse.
Just give me a chance.
(Sighs) All right.
I'll call the owner, tell him my truck broke down.
That'll buy us a couple more hours.
That's all I need.
Jack: Hey you guys.
I'm taking Mallory to the airport.
You should come and see her off.
Yeah, of course.
We'll be right back.
(Luggage thumps heavily in truck bed) If it's a girl, I think Mallory has a nice ring to it, don't you? Yeah, I do.
Hey, take care of Copper.
He's not as young as he used to be.
(Whispering) Same goes for Jack.
- (Chuckles) I will.
- Hey, good luck in London.
And don't be a stranger.
Come and visit us soon.
- I promise I will.
- All right, Mallory, let's get a move on.
You're gonna miss your plane.
(Truck door opens) For what it's worth, whenever I'm homesick it's for this place and for all of you.
(Door opens) Lou: Drive safe.
Yup, okay.
(Doors bang shut) - You got everything? - Yup.
Okay.
(Starts engine) (Truck rumbles) (Truck rumbles) What is this? (Truck rumbles) Must be some tourists who've lost their way.
That's not tourists.
(Trucks rumble to a halt) (Door squeaks open, doors bang shut) (Jack sighs) Okay.
There's some things I gotta say.
Things that need saying.
Number one: you talk way too much.
Number two: you waffle about everything.
And number three: you're always sticking your nose - into everybody's business - Seriously, you came all this way to tell me that? No.
I came here to tell you, that despite all those things, I couldn't imagine my life without you.
So I'm gonna ask you, for the last time and I mean it! Mallory Wells, will you marry me? Of course I will! (Laughs) (Relieved sigh) Oh boy So, Natalie is interested.
All we have to do is send her a video of Georgie doing a standing hippodrome on Tab, - and she'll buy him.
- Well, it's now or never.
The owner is getting pretty antsy.
Okay.
(Saddle leather creaks) You ready, Georgie? (Crow caws) (Tab grunts, Georgie clicks her tongue) Let's do it.
(Hooves thud, Tab grunts and pants) Good boy.
Okay.
(Distorted hoofbeats and grunt) Agh! Okay, um Try getting even lower on his neck, all right? And rub his mane, cluck to him, let him know he's not doing this alone.
Let him know that he can trust you.
Okay.
All right, Tab.
(Patting lightly) Let's show 'em how it's done.
(Hooves thud, Tab grunts) (Distorted hoofbeats) Tooth and nail I would fight for you Use my heart Like a fist Till it's black and blue 'Cause when you find Your one true love (light kiss) That is the time To show What you are made of (Distorted hoofbeats and grunts) Good boy.
Okay.
Mallory: With this ring, I take you to be my lawfully wedded husband, And my best friend and my one true love from this day forward.
