Inside The Expanse s01e06 Episode Script

Episode 6

Prepare for docking clamp capture.
You either some kind of genius, Mr.
Holden, or you the luckiest dipshit in the solar system.
He's got an instinct for survival.
I don't think there's any two ways about there being an element of luck to Holden's journey.
How's it going out there? Chad Coleman is an amazing guy.
Such a nice guy, so sweet.
I was really excited to work with him.
I've been such a huge fan of his work since "The Wire".
"The Wire", "The Walking Dead", just go down the list.
We were thrilled when we got Chad to come on board.
I have half a platoon of pissed-off Martian marines who are just itching for some payback.
Episode six is the first direct altercation between Fred and Holden, and it's a really interesting relationship.
I'm guessing there are two to four people left on your ship.
And I'm confident that there's no Martian Navy on board.
Fred just like sort of dissects their lie.
You walked off that ship, because you're in charge.
At least you think you are It's like he's not he's not buying it, it's a great introductory moment that shows that this guy is formidable opponent.
You and I both want the same thing.
To do right by our people.
Something in Holden likes Fred, a guy who decided to change sides and recreate himself and rise from the ashes.
I think Holden likes that spirit of Fred, 'cause something in him wants to believe that you can change.
All that's waiting out there for you is more trouble.
More death.
Why are you so hell-bent, Holden? Because this is my fault.
You know, we're at a place in the story where we're not sure whether or not this crew is gonna disperse, whether Holden is going to continue on this journey on his own.
I logged the distress call on the Cant.
Amos She knows what a short fuse Amos has, and so she also knows in that moment that her admitting that she knew and that he'd done the right thing, stops Amos from maybe doing something final, to Holden.
I knew.
Holden did the right thing.
This is really the first moment that you truly see Amos shaken.
Why didn't you tell me? I don't know.
He is kind of built his life around Naomi, and around the relationship that they have.
You were afraid of me.
When he realized that she kept something from him and that she doesn't trust him, it was a realization to him that she sees him as a monster.
That scene breaks my heart.
I know I'm in it, but watching it, it breaks my heart.
You shoulda said somethin'.
Trust is a huge issue with Alex.
He knows snakes in the grass, he knows who's a straight shooter.
So to find out that the person he has, really, picked as his leader, has kept this incredibly huge secret.
Anybody there? Please help me.
It rocked Alex's world.
You're late.
- What is this? - Oh, spare us the speech.
The ship's ready.
Are you? Why would the crew stay with Holden after that big betrayal? That's a very good question, um, and 'cause we asked this question in the room ourselves.
I guess we lost Amos.
Oh, he'll be here in a sec.
They're all pissed at Holden, they don't want to be part of the job.
Okay.
But everybody also has a reason to stay.
Anyone who's out there is not the average run-of-the-mill person.
They're thrill-seekers, they're adrenaline-junkies, they are people with pasts and histories that are running from something.
Definitely at the forefront, it's how they've bonded.
They've become almost like a family, a little dysfunctional family.
They are not the white-picket-fence, A two-and-a-half-dog type of people.
They're all getting to that strange realization that this group of people is kind of better off together than they are apart.
I guess I'll put on some coffee.
Uhh, did I just say "two-and-a-half-dogs"? Yeah I'm looking for a girl, her name is Julie.
She discovered something.
Something big.
If Mars and Earth get into a throw down
