Wolf Watch (2014) s02e04 Episode Script

The Benefactor

Welcome to Wolf Watch.
I'm your host, Jill Wagner.
Helping me keep watch, as always, is our house DJ Cole Plante.
And today's episode is focused on the newest members of the Teen Wolf cast, and we're calling them our freshman class.
Please welcome Garrett, Mason Dye and Violet, Samantha Logan.
And we've also got someone who just graduated high school, making him a soon-to-be college freshman, but he's a current heartthrob and a very talented singer.
Cody Simpson is with us.
All right, people, class is in session.
Okay, let's get started.
Let's talk about this episode.
Um, Mason and Samantha, first of all, we meet Garrett and Violet this episode.
I want to know a little bit about them, where are they from, and kind of what they're here to do.
Well, we kind of had a dark past.
- We have.
- We grew up as orphans.
- Yes.
- So I think just skipping to the whole, "what do we want?" We're assassins and we we're going for the money, baby.
Yeah, we want to kill.
Kill and money, that's so harsh.
We'll do whatever it takes to get the money.
- So dark - Yeah.
Yet so good.
Which in itself is Teen Wolf, right? - Yes, yes, - exactly, exactly.
Okay, so, um, Liam was, uh was really crying when Scott was trying to explain to him what he did to him.
Cody, I want to know how you would react if someone told you that you had been bitten by a werewolf.
I don't think I would even be that mad.
You know what I mean? You kind of join this, like, elite group of of guys and girls and and I would kind of think it was kind of special.
Aww.
Okay, so, um, Mason, you two are working with someone called the Benefactor.
Yes, the Benefactor.
He's this mysterious man.
None of us we we haven't met him.
We're just we're contracted assassins, and he pays us to kill werewolves Off the, uh off the list.
Um, okay, let's talk about the party that we saw, The lake house party - Turn it up.
- Oh, yeah.
- In this episode.
- For the party? I'm sure Lydia's mom is gonna be thrilled.
Oh, no, come on.
Lydia's mom is probably so pissed at what she did at the party.
- Let's be real.
- That is so right.
- She's she's so pissed.
- Nah.
- She's mad, right? - She saw the kiss - between these two as well.
- Yeah.
- Yeah, oh.
- But a question for you guys.
Have you ever been in that situation where you maybe threw a party at a house and the parent might have found out? Has that happened to anyone? Gotten in trouble? I've never thrown a party.
I've gone to parties where, you know, it ended up really bad.
Just place is totally trashed and the parents come.
- Yeah.
- Cops.
- Yeah, oh, yeah.
- Yeah.
- Cops are the worst.
- That's why you never throw parties at your own house.
Right? Smart people never throw parties.
- They only go to parties.
- At their own house.
- You go to parties, yeah.
- Yeah.
All right, well, Samantha, I was actually really surprised when your character, Violet, beheads the beer delivery guy.
- Yes.
- Which, by the way Note to self: The one person you don't behead is the beer delivery guy at a party.
Okay? - Just trying to turn it up.
- But you did it with - Right? - This really cool necklace, which I want to know What that's made out of and where can I buy one? Actually, I'm not sure what it's made of.
Uh, I remember though just for shot-wise and not actually hurting the actor, um, they they replaced it with a little stretchy rubber band - Right.
- Just because I kept breaking it 'cause I was so aggressive and so into it.
You kept breaking it on his neck? - I kept breaking it.
- Oh, poor guy.
Yeah, yeah, I got really into it.
But, um, it was fun though, just, you know, being able to go up and just Okay, freshman, this is our version of math class.
We're keeping track of how often certain things happen over the course of this season, and we call them our wolf stats.
We had one shirtless scene with Peter and everything else came in pairs.
All right, we had two deaths: DeMarco and the mute.
Two hookups: Scott and Kira, and Violet and Garrett.
- Oh, no.
- Mmm.
And two transformations: Malia and Liam, although Scott might have if Kira had nibbled on his ear - a little bit longer.
- Mm-hmm.
And for our bonus stat, the number of times Kira, the ViXen, falls down the stairs is up to one.
Let's hope for her sake it stays that way.
All right, now, here's where we stand with our numbers for the season overall.
All right, we have to take our first break, but coming up, the veterans of Teen Wolf will give advice to the newbies of Beacon Hills, and we'll name our next Wolf Crush of the Week.
Cole, play us to break, please.
My best wolf howl? Okay.
Wait, was that bad? - That was good.
- Yes! I don't know.
Wait, hold on.
Okay, watch this.
Ow! Ow! What? Are you dying? Are you, like, a dying wolf? Ah! Ah! Ah! I'm just kidding.
We can do, like, harmonies for that.
Okay, I'll give you my best wolf howl.
I don't have a very good wolf howl.
I'd probably call someone in to do some, uh, audio effects.
That's probably what it would sound like.
All right, welcome back to Wolf Watch.
Jill Wagner here with our DJ Cole Plante.
- Yeah.
- And we're joined by our freshman class of Teen Wolf's newest cast members, Mason Dye and Samantha Logan, plus all the way from Australia, Cody Simpson.
Yeah.
And there's still so much Teen Wolf to talk about.
But first, Cody, congratulations.
You just graduated high school.
Not only did he just graduate, he was the class valedictorian.
- What? - Whoa.
Nice.
Smarty-pants.
Oh, yeah.
Okay, so you've got a new album, right, coming out? - Uh, working on it.
- Working on it, for sure.
Okay, so how is that sound, uh, going to be different from your last album, Surfer's Paradise? Honestly, um, I just want to continually keep growing and improving.
Like, that's all that matters to me.
If I can get through a day and be like, "hey, I made a step forward today, I'm better than I was yesterday," you know, just to be able to work on it is really nice.
The music sounds awesome.
I've, uh, been playing just a lot of guitar and, um, working on some good stuff.
- So I'm excited, yeah.
- That's a great outlook.
- Very excited to hear it.
- Yeah.
That's great.
Sorry to get so deep on everyone for a little bit, eh.
Really cool.
All right, so now let's get back to Teen Wolf.
Uh, you two have a love scene, or kind of a make-out scene, right? - Yes.
- I want We were watching it backstage.
We yeah.
- Yeah.
- How awkward is that? First of all, let me ask you, how long you knew each other before you had to make out? Like, a couple weeks.
- Yeah, about a couple weeks.
- But through I mean, we we'd met before, but we didn't really know each other, no.
But we didn't realize it at all.
She had been to my house, like, twice.
You didn't know each other.
- Yes, exactly, yeah.
- Yeah, mm-hmm.
But now you know each other.
- Know.
- Now we know each other.
- Yeah.
- Different level.
It wasn't that awkward.
Is there anything that you guys do? Because I know I love to eat garlic before I kiss.
Is there anything that you guys do? Just to get it out of the way, we had, like, a little kiss in front of all the extras.
- In front of all the extras.
- Everyone was watching.
- She was like - Oh, wait a minute.
So you guys did a pre-kiss? - Yeah.
- Are you a allowed to do that? I went up to him and just was like, - "let's do this.
" - Yeah.
You're allowed to do a pre-kiss? - I don't know.
- She's going on Well, we were boyfriend-girlfriend - on the show.
- Yeah, yeah.
- Right.
- So, I mean, I wanted - We were in character.
- To get a feel for it.
- Little method acting.
- Yeah.
- I understand.
- Yeah, yeah, true.
- Exactly.
- That's what I say.
Okay, speaking of boyfriend-girlfriend, uh, there's a scene with Scott and Kira in the boathouse.
- Yes.
- Right? And she gets a little frisky, Cole.
She whoa.
- She gets a little - I mean Did we think that Kira had that in her? It it yes and no 'cause she's so timid, you know? - Right? - And she's so, like, - kind of klutzy and awkward.
- It's always the timid ones.
But then you kind of go back to, like, last season, and she has, like, these moments of passion, whether it's, like, killing the nogitsune, - but nonetheless - Mm-hmm.
- There's passion.
- Yeah.
So I think I think under all that timidness is some sort of passion for whatever it is, and in this case, it's Scott's mouth, so Scott's mouth.
- All right, awesome.
- Well, uh, it's time to shine the spotlight on our Wolf Crush of the Week.
And, no, I think we can all safely say it's not the mute.
Uh, this week, the honor goes to - Garrett! - Do-do-dum.
What? Yes! - The new kid in town - Yes.
May have some evil in his heart Thank you, thank you.
But he's also won over our hearts.
It's a pleasure.
So, Garrett, congratulations on being named our Wolf Crush of the Week.
- Yes.
- Thank you.
- Whoo! - All right.
It's an honor.
I wish we had a trophy for you, but we don't.
Yeah, just I feel like one.
It's just something you can Twitter.
All right, all right, it's never easy being the new kid in town.
With that in mind, we sent our Wolf Watch correspondent Tyler Posey on a mission: Get advice for the fresh meat from the Teen Wolf veterans.
Let's see what he learned.
Hi, guys, it's me, Tyler Posey.
Since there are so many new faces on Teen Wolf this season, I thought I'd ask our veteran cast members to share their tips on how to survive as a Beacon Hills beginner.
So here are their wolf words of wisdom.
The best advice to give the newbies is, if you have somewhere to go, uh, at least with three in three to five hours, don't ask Holland a question 'Cause, um, she will talk your ear off.
Don't take off your shoes because someone will take them and hide them from you.
He's got a closet full of shoes at home.
We like to get pranky.
Don't ever break out, so you have to do this with your hand.
Like, uh, Dil's first week, little Dil Spray, uh, we, uh, we you know, we were like, "hey, man, we're so excited to be, you know, working together," you know? Ah.
And then we just, like, um, trapped him in a locked, and, uh, no one could find him for, like, three days.
So my advice for the new Teen Wolf cast is, uh, check the call sheet, 'cause one of my one of my first days of filming, I actually came to base camp and there was no one here.
So I quickly realized we're shooting on location, which was an hour away.
So check the call sheet so you're not dumb like me.
Words of wisdom would be silent growls.
The po He can do it.
He does a growl.
He actually does a growl.
You can do the growl.
- I can't do the growl.
- He's absolutely right.
It's more like a hiss.
It's really more of a hiss.
If you're on set, we hiss.
Advice? Probably just, you know, get ready for a ride.
I mean, being a part of this show is absolutely ridiculous.
All right.
We have to take another break, but coming up, we'll see how well our guests know their Teen Wolf history, and we'll give you a preview of next week's episode, presented by AT&T.
Cole, let's hear it.
I'm Jill Wagner, joined as always by DJ Cole Plante.
And today, we've been getting to know a pair of Teen Wolf newbies, Mason Dye and Samantha Logan, and special guest Cody Simpson.
And a lot has happened on Teen Wolf over the past four seasons.
A lot.
So we want to see if our freshman class members have done their homework.
Now, I'm gonna ask a series of trivia questions about the show and the first person to buzz in and correctly answer each one gets a point, and whoever racks up the most points by the end of the game will be our winner.
- You're going down.
- All right, are you all ready? - Yeah, oh.
- Yes.
So let's play Geekin' for Beacon.
Fun! Okay, people.
All right, first question.
What color do a werewolf's eyes turn after killing an innocent? - Samantha.
- Blue.
That is correct.
Samantha gets a point.
All right.
- You're going down now.
- All right, next question.
- Let's do this.
- Which character was also the alter ego of the darach? Mason.
Jennifer? You are righ I guess we can give that to him.

- Oh, that's so unfair.
- That sufficed.
First name counts.
That counts.
All right, next question.

- What are you doing, guys? - What are you doing? - Just leave now.
He is clearly the valedictorian.
I'm in the lead.
Here we go.
- "I'm in the lead.
" - All right.
All right, Kira and her family moved to Beacon Hills from what city? - Samantha.
- New York.
Yes! What item does Scott hand to Allison the first time they meet? - Cody.
- A pen.
Yes, you are right.
I remember that scene so well.
- Me too.
- All right.
Which Alpha was responsible for biting Scott and turning him into a werewolf? Mason.
Peter.
- You are right.
- That's it, Garrett.
All right.
What type of supernatural creature is Malia? Go ahead, Samantha.
Uh, a werecoyote.
You are right.
Whoo! Yeah.
Okay.

- Oh, yeah, girl.
- Four out of five.
- I remember that one.
All right, what unseen member of the lacrosse team is hated by Coach Finstock? Mason.

- Aw, yes! - Yes.
- A loser.
- No, I'll hold this for you.
- Cheers, mate, cheers.
I'll hold this for you.
We can all geek out with a bonus scene from next week's episode of Teen Wolf.
Enjoy, people.
The sun, the moon, the truth.
The sun, the moon, the truth.
After our last break, we'll spend time with our Alpha of the week, and as always, we have a sneak peek at next week's episode.
Let's get some music, Cole.
Woo! Woo! Woo! Thank you, Cole.
Welcome back to Wolf Watch.
I'm here with the new kids in school, - Mason Dye and Samantha Logan - What's up? - Yeah, you are.
- Plus the singer of the hit song, Surfboard, Cody Simpson.
- Whoa.
- Yeah.
Now we want to welcome our newest classmate, our Alpha of the Week, and she's such a big fan, she creates her own Teen Wolf mosaic art, like this one right here.
- How cool is that? - Nice.
- So cool.
- It's crazy.
And now let's take a look at a few more of her pieces.
- Oh, wow.
- That's Malia.
Oh, very good.
Oh, yeah, love that one.
That one is definitely my favorite.
- Wow, Stilinski.
- Oh, yeah.
- That one's my favorite.
- Nice, nice.
And we have her on video chat.
- Liz! - Uh, Liz? - Hi! - Liz! - Where are you, Liz? - Aww.
- Hey, Liz.
- Hi, Liz.
- What's up? - What's up? - How's it going? - Well, welcome to the show, Liz.
- Thank you very much.
- Thanks for having me.
Well, um, I want to know, how do you do this? Like, can you explain this to me? I have to have a portrait of someone.
Um, I can't do them just, like, freestyle.
Um, so once I pick a portrait of who I'm gonna do, um, I use Adobe Illustrator to pick the very specific, like, contours of the face and various colors of the skin, and, um, I have a preexisting color palette that I've thought out for each character.
So it's a really cool art style to work with.
- That's amazing.
- Awesome.
- Really awesome.
- Yeah.
So you've been a Teen Wolf fan from the very beginning.
Why do you love the show so much? I love the story lines the darach and the kanima and the kitsune is like it's something that was totally fresh and I can watch it with my brothers and it was just it was awesome altogether.
I just love it.
We made this show for you, Liz.
- It sounds like that.
- Awesome.
Yeah.
All right, well, I've got three amazing guests here with me tonight.
Is there any questions you have for them? I do.
Well, for the freshman class, I have a question for you two.
Um, was there anyone in the cast you were particularly excited or even nervous to work with? I think I was nervous and excited all at once just to meet everybody.
- Yes.
- You know? Yeah, that was the same with me.
I yeah, I was nervous honestly until the first day.
Because once we got there, like, everybody was so nice.
Yeah, and everyone's always cracking jokes on set too.
- Yeah.
- So even right before a take, someone will crack a joke and we'll just be laughing serious.
You just know you're right - at home with everybody.
- Yeah.
That sounds like a great day, yeah.
Oh, yeah, for sure.
- Do you have another question? - Yeah, I do.
Uh, this one's for Cody.
So I know, obviously, why I love the show and I just want to know what it is about Teen Wolf that you enjoy watching.
I love watching things that are constantly moving and jam-packed with, like, different, you know, things that are exciting, you know.
I love I love action, so I love all of the action, um, in the scenes, and then how, uh how well it's all done.
- Right, right.
- Yeah.
Okay, well, Liz, I'm sorry, but we have to say good-bye.
We love you.
Thank you.
- Yeah.
- Thank you so much.
Your artwork is beautiful.
- Bye, Liz.
- Bye.
- Bye.
- Bye.
All right, and that's all the time we have for the episode of Wolf Watch.
I'm just kidding.
We can't wrap up before showing a sneak peek of next week's episode, so here it is.
- Next on Teen Wolf - It's a dead pool A hit list of supernatural creatures.
Somebody wants every supernatural in Beacon Hills dead.
These are professional killers.
One of them's got a thermocut wire that cuts heads off.
- It's a lacrosse player.
- Killer's on the team.
Nervous? About someone trying to kill us, or about playing my first game? You gave superpowers to a walking time bomb.
You're the one he's after.
All right.
I wanna thank our guests, Mason Dye, Samantha Logan and Cody Simpson.
And as always, thanks to DJ Cole Plante.
And you can keep watching the after-aftershow on MTV.
com and the MTV app right now.
