Wolf Watch (2014) s02e12 Episode Script

Smoke and Mirrors

Oh, yeah.
Welcome to Wolf Watch.
I'm your host Jill Wagner.
And manning the decks, it's my favorite DJ - DJ Cole Plante! - Yeah.
Yeah! And because there was so much going on in tonight's season finale of Teen Wolf, we had to bring in the big guns to talk all about it.
Oh, yeah.
So please welcome my guests the executive producer of Teen Wolf Mr.
Jeff Davis.
Thank you.
Scott Tyler Posey.
Yeah.
Stiles Dylan O'Brien.
And Derek - Tyler Hoechlin.
- Yeah! - Yeah! - Drummin' on the backside.
So movies have the Oscars, TV has the Emmys, music has the Grammys, and now Teen Wolf - What do we have? - Has the Wolfies.
- Wolfies.
- I just made it sound like it's so little.
We have the Wolfies.
Okay.
Yes, uh, we've invited some of the biggest Teen Wolf fans to hand out awards to recognize the most memorable moments of the past 12 episodes, and they'll be doing that throughout the show, along with a lot of other things, like putting feathers in each other's hair.
Sorry.
But before that, we have to talk all about the crazy end to the season.
Jeff okay, I think everyone I can speak for everyone who was watching we thought that Derek died, but then he turns into this beautiful black wolf.
Was that something that, um, was thought way ahead of time? Like, did you kind of know that? - Way ahead.
- Way ahead.
- Like season one.
- Like how far ahead - did you know that? - Um I wouldn't say season one, but from - The pilot.
The start of this season that we knew that we wanted to evolve his character.
We knew that, uh, that Derek wouldn't necessarily go back to being an Alpha, but that he would, uh, find his power again.
That he would become A greater, uh, wolf.
Aw.
I loved that, by the way.
Uh, Posey, the Berserkers were I'm sorry.
They were so badass, if I do say so myself.
You damn right they were.
Um, but speaking in terms of the the actual costume or the outfit or the gear that you had to put on, - uh, what was that like? - It was really cool.
But it's, uh, it's very there's a lot of pieces to it.
And on a tall person, it looks badass and, like, meaty and scary, but on me, it's kind of I'm a lot smaller.
So it's kind of everything's kind of, like, squished together - a little bit.
- He's mini-Berserker.
- He's the baby Berserker.
- It looks a little funny.
Um, but I I thought it was awesome.
I felt badass inside of it.
Anytime I get to do any costume, - like the wolf make-up - Yeah.
Or anything that, like, hides my face, I think it's fun, because I don't get to be me.
I get to freak around.
But we love you.
"Freak around.
" Okay.
Um, Dylan, so Stiles disobeys his father - when he goes to Mexico - Yeah.
To help Kira and Scott.
How does he kind of balance his loyalties between what he needs to do with his friends and his father, because you know his father Stilinski - always wants to keep him safe.
- Yeah.
Yeah, I think he knows that.
Like, he knows that his dad's always gonna want to keep him safe.
He's always gonna be, you know, protecting him, and it's about, like, now sort of Stiles getting older.
I mean, he's always kind of, uh, just, like, gone over the edge for his friends no matter what, without caring.
He considers it, you know.
But, um, he knows now that he's getting older and, like, his dad needs to, like, let him, like, sort of go and and and venture out on these excursions to save the ones he loves.
Hoechlin, I want to talk about the fact that your character was so willing to die for his friends.
How does that feel to know that he's reached a place in his life that he's willing to do that? Uh, I was really happy with the arc of the character going from season one to that.
I mean, Derek's gone through so many ups and downs and obviously was really excited about the fact of being an Alpha in the beginning of season two and failed miserably at that, and just got a little too ahead of himself and thought a little too highly of himself, so to see him kind of learn his lessons and realize that he can't do it alone and that that's not really his role and that, really, Scott is the one who's meant to be that leader.
So it's cool.
All right, it's time for one of our fans to hand out a Wolfie award.
Let's check it out.
I can't wait for this.
What's up? Jarrod here.
Bet you thought you'd seen the last of me.
But you know what they say things in Beacon Hills have a tendency to not stay dead.
I'm not in Beacon Hills, but whatever.
Between beheadings, people getting eaten alive, and people getting hacked up by tomahawks, so, Jeff, I'm presenting you with a Wolfie for the most maniacal mastermind for disturbing death scenes.
Try saying that five times fast.
Oh, yes, Jeff.
I'm thrilled to present you with this well-deserved Wolfie.
It's beautiful, I know.
Where will you put it? Uh, probably in the writer's room, 'cause I will share this with the fabulous writers on the Teen Wolf staff.
He's so selfless.
All right.
It's got a "W" on it for writers.
We have to take our first break, but when we get back, we'll name our last Wolf Crush of the Week, and here's a hint he's sitting on the couch.
Cole, play some music, please.
And cut.
Welcome back to Wolf Watch.
I'm Jill Wagner here with DJ Cole Plante, Jeff Davis, Tyler Posey, Dylan O'Brien, and Tyler Hoechlin.
So, Posey, how much of the fighting do you do versus the stunt double, or do you do I do I do a lot.
Uh, sometime there's there's some scenes where I don't do any sometimes, and I just do little inserts of me, like, arr, like, turning around or landing, um - 'Cause nobody can do that.
- But sometimes I'll learn the entire stunt, the entire fight scene, which could be, like, a minute and a half long sometimes, and, um - That's a long - Yeah.
And it's exhausting.
That's a long fight scene.
A minute and half cut together is like nine hours of shooting, so, yeah, that's - Yeah, that's a lot.
- That's a long time.
Yeah, it's it's pretty gnarly.
Hoechlin, what is the significance of you being able to turn into a full wolf versus a werewolf? Uh, like, you know, Jeff was saying, the evolution of the character.
Derek's not meant to be that Alpha, and that's not really his path, uh, so this is a way to, you know, show that he was able to evolve into something stronger than he ever was before without becoming an Alpha.
So the turning into a full wolf is really kind of like the pinnacle of becoming a werewolf and being able to transform the whole body.
So is that what they all aspire to? It's the idea that you can blend perfectly into nature, so they can hide themselves completely and transform completely.
Okay, I have another question.
Kira she learns how to heal herself.
What are the other similarities between foxes and werewolves or kitsunes and werewolves? With Kira and Scott, it's, uh there's a similarity in strength and speed and agility, uh, but we have fun with the kitsune myth, uh, in that kitsunes have an incredibly wide range of powers, uh, from shape-shifting to being able to cast spells.
Uh, part of what we want to do is is choose the right ones for our mythology, so healing is definitely one of them, and, uh, we always like the idea that, uh, Kira herself is sort of clumsy - and has no balance - Yeah.
But it's when she picks up a sword, that gives her balance.
Nice! All right, we kept a close eye on certain things that happen a lot on Teen Wolf.
Now let's get the final tally of this season's Wolf Stats.
We did get one shirtless scene Derek.
Oh, yeah.
And we did get to see Derek and Braeden share a tender kiss, so that counts as a hookup.
Oh, yeah.
And there were three deaths two Berserkers and a Calaveras hunter.
Plus, a whopping five transformations Berserker Scott, werewolf Scott and Kate, Peter, and Derek.
And, uh, for our bonus stat, three is the minimum number of metal baseball bats you should use to fight a Berserker.
- All right.
- Oh, no! And as we look at our totals for the season, we see that deaths are the winner.
Jeff, uh, next season, you may need to amp up - the shirtless scenes, okay? - Got it.
Yeah, seriously! All right, after each episode of Teen Wolf this season, we've been naming our Wolf Crush of the Week.
It's a very important thing here.
And I know fans will be excited for our last choice - because it's Derek! - Yeah! Yes! He showed off his sensitive side by offering to sacrifice himself to save his pack, and then he got his powers back in a big way.
So how cool was that that he evolved into the black wolf? - I thought it was awesome.
- I think we love it.
So congratulations to Derek, our Wolf Crush of the Week.
- Yeah! - Whoo! Awesome! And that's not the only honor for Derek tonight.
Mm! He's getting his very own Wolfie award.
- Hey! - Yeah, buddy! Oh, yeah.
Hi.
It's Liza from Texas.
Derek finally hooked up with a woman who hasn't tried to kill him yet.
And after dating Kate and Jennifer Blake, Braeden is definitely a step up.
So, Derek, I'm going to give you this Wolfie award for most improved choice in non-homicidal girlfriend.
Congratulations.
Happy season finale.
Whoo! As much as I kind of don't want to give you this award 'cause I feel like it's a real dig on my character - Pretty much.
- But, Hoechlin, will you accept this award on Derek's behalf? - I will.
- So cool.
- Thank you.
- Yeah! All right, time for another break, but we have a lot more awards to hand out, and we'll recap the most memorable moments of the season presented by AT&T.
Hit the music, Cole.
Oh, good music.
Good tunes.
Welcome back to Wolf Watch.
I'm Jill Wagner here with DJ Cole Plante, and tonight, we're celebrating the season finale with Jeff Davis, Tyler Posey, Dylan O'Brien, and Tyler Hoechlin.
Our Wolf Watch correspondent, Tyler Posey, is a true Teen Wolf expert, and he's ready to share that knowledge with us all.
Let's check it out.
Number ten Lydia and the banshees.
This screaming beauty never met a mystery she can't solve.
Number nine our bad guys got weirder.
Just when we thought we'd seen it all, murder-y guy with no mouth shows up with a tomahawk.
What? Number eight Kate is crazy evil, but she's still crazy hot.
Number seven Peter looks nice in v-necks.
We don't give him nearly enough credit for all the time he puts in at the gym.
Unh! Number six wendigos do exist.
I'm just so hungry! You're yummier when you scream and taste like chicken.
Five Derek got his groove back.
Bow chika wow wow.
Number four Kira gets foxy with her katana.
Kira knows how to beat down a Berserker.
Number three the weird hiring policy of Beacon Hills high school.
They let everyone's mom and dad work there, but also a homicidal chemistry teacher.
Oops.
Number two Melissa McCall really needs a raise.
She worked all the shifts at Beacon Hills memorial this season.
Get this lady a chardonnay and a foot rub.
Number one that time of the month affects everyone the cramping, the mood swings, the need to be chained to the wall.
I'm T.
Pose, and I'm out.
Thank you.
Whoo! All right All right, we've been giving out Wolfie awards in honor of the top moments from this season of Teen Wolf, but these moments would never have happened without the hard work of the Teen Wolf crew.
We love our Teen Wolf crew, don't we? - We do.
- Yes, we do.
And we should give one to Tyler Posey for being our Wolf Watch correspondent.
Yes! - So let's check it out.
- Get outta here! - Hi.
I'm Brittany.
- And I'm Brianna.
From New York.
This next award is for everyone's favorite true Alpha.
Scott does such an amazing job protecting his friends and everyone in Beacon Hills.
It's pretty much a 24/7 job.
So we want to give him the Wolfie for the hardest-working werewolf in show biz.
There you go.
There's your Wolfie.
- Yeah.
- Thank you.
Wow, it's dense.
It's a little - I know.
- Yeah, it's a little heavy.
- A little weight.
- Yeah! All right, it's time for another break, but we have a lot more awards to hand out.
Who will win the coveted Wolfies? Got to stick around to find out.
And we'll recap the most memorable moments of this season presented by AT&T.
Hit the music, Cole.
Welcome back to Wolf Watch.
I'm here with Jeff Davis, Tyler Posey, Dylan O'Brien, and Tyler Hoechlin.
Yes! No! Yes! And as you saw during Wolf Stats, the death count was very high this season on Teen Wolf, but with the right skills, it was possible to make it out alive, so Jeff is going to read a series of statements about how to survive all of the perils we saw in season four, and, yes, I'm playing, too, and whoever gets the most right will be our winner.
All right, let's play "Four the Win.
" Number one "Wendigos only feed on humans during a full moon.
" - False.
- That's correct.
Yes! - What is the answer to that? - Sorry.
Sorry.
- When do they - Wendigos will pretty much eat people anytime they're hungry.
- That's right.
- Number two.
"A surgeon with a sharp scalpel and a steady hand can cure a werewolf poisoned by yellow wolf's bane.
" - False.
- It is true.
Aah! Number three "Berserkers have only one true master.
" - This is true.
- I'm false.
- I am the master - I'm tempted, - but I don't trust you.
- Of these creatures.
I think it's true.
They only have one true master.
- Let's get the answer! - False.
It is actually false.
- Whoo! - You remember Peter? They followed Peter in that scene.
All right, number four "an injured kitsune must grasp a piece of obsidian to start the healing process.
" False.
False.
Oh, yes! Okay.
I just love this Kitsunes can heal themselves with pain.
- Yeah! - Okay.
Number five "find yourself in the middle of a canine distemper outbreak? Good thing you're a human.
It will only make you sick, not kill you.
" - True.
- Yep.
Whichever.
- False.
- True.
True.
All right.
Number six "Beware Buddhist werewolves, which are twice as strong as other werewolves.
" I think, uh, Dylan is abstaining.
- You're what is that? - Are you refusing to answer? Pffft! False.
"They are more focused - Yes! - But not necessarily stronger.
" Number seven "it helps to have supernatural powers while battling Berserkers, but it's not necessary.
They can be killed with manmade weapons.
" - False.
- I'm gonna go with this.
True.
Number eight "a powerful kitsune is known to have nine tails.
" True.
I'm gonna go with what everybody else is saying.
- True.
- Good job! All right, that is the end of the game, and the winner is Hoechlin! Okay, well, guys, guess what.
So, you get this, Hoechlin, because you're awesome.
- That looks great.
- Whoa! How cool is this? It is Teen Wolf.
It's our jersey.
Season two.
- Yes.
- Hey! Beacon Hills.
Your little jersey there.
- Pretty solid.
Nice.
- And, um, that's not all.
- I want everything today.
- Then you get these really cool glasses that I like to - What? - 'Cause they match my outfit.
- Wait.
- Are those for you or for me? - Maybe I'll just keep those.
Um - I'm just kidding.
- Those are for you? - Hang on.
- Aw! I knew you were gonna do that.
You get the sunglasses with these.
- And you get this beautiful - Oh, the gold one! - Wolf Watch winner golden mug.
- I get a gold one this time.
Toss it.
Come on.
Okay, I still have something for my losers, though.
- Yay! - Yes! You guys Wolf Watch loser mugs.
And these are still way cool.
- Uhh.
You got it? - Thanks, Jill.
- Cheers.
- These are cool.
- And I get these lovely cards? - And you get these cards You know what? No, no, no.
I'm gonna give him something, too, because he's definitely a winner.
Okay.
Uh, another jersey for mister Yeah! - Jeff Davis.
- I love it.
There you go.
Okay.
Um, so from what I hear, there's a special Wolfie for Kate.
- Why? - There's a Wolfie for me? Hi.
My name is Quinn Wence, and I'm from Indiana.
And I would like to give an award to Kate for the way that she brutally ripped apart that guy in the bathroom which I think they're probably still cleaning up the mess that you left.
So, Kate, you win the Wolfie for most likely to be banned for life from a Beacon Hills gas station.
Jill, I'm giving you this prestigious award because you totally deserve it.
- Yes.
- Yeah.
That is very special.
Thank you.
I I feel feel so honored.
- That's - This is great.
- All right.
- This kicks ass.
All right, it's time for one last break, but coming up, we'll spend some time with Dylan's new pack From the new film The Maze Runner.
And I'll try to pry a few secrets out of Jeff about what to expect in season five.
Cole, let's hear it.
I'm Jill Wagner here with DJ Cole Plante, Tyler Posey, Dylan O'Brien, Tyler Hoechlin, and Jeff Davis.
And it's time to give out the last, but certainly not the least, Wolfie of the night.
Hi.
It's Daylin from Georgia.
Stiles definitely deserves an award for finally getting his first girlfriend.
Malia's lucky to have you by her side.
I'm totally jealous.
So, he gets the Wolfie for most lip action with a newly transformed coyote.
- No way! - Oh, yes.
- No way! - Dylan, please accept this award on Stiles' behalf.
- Who would've - For all the lip action.
- Oh, my God.
For lip action? - Good job, buddy.
This is so unexpected.
I want to thank the Wolf Academy All right, despite Teen Wolf wrapping up its season tonight, fans will be seeing a lot more of Dylan in the coming weeks, because he's hitting the big screen as a star of the new film The Maze Runner.
That is so awesome.
And we sat down with him and his cast mates.
Check this out.
Hey, guys.
I'm Dylan O'Brien.
Now, from my time on Teen Wolf to my role in the new movie The Maze Runner, I know a thing or two about what it takes to survive, so I join my Maze Runner cast mates to discuss our survival skills in the film, in Beacon Hills, and in real life.
The Maze Runner kind of follows this group of young kids who are trapped in what's called The Glade that's surrounded by this maze, and they don't know why, and they have to find a way out.
I play Thomas.
He basically is insanely curious about why it is that they're there.
I play a character called Teresa.
She feels a deep connection with Thomas straightaway.
It's a girl.
Thomas.
The kind of one thing that I suppose Thomas and Gally, my character, have in common is that they actually probably want to kill each other.
- Hey.
- Hey.
- I want to kill you, too.
- Crazy that.
Yeah, that's so funny.
Let's chill.
We got to stop meeting like this, Greenie.
It is very dangerous to go out in the maze.
There are these things called grievers.
Aah! I'd say the Griever is sort of similar to creatures we've had in Teen Wolf.
I think if I were to have any cast members from Teen Wolf Help us out in Maze Runner, I would want them to have a power, which is great, 'cause there's plenty of it on Teen Wolf.
Like, Scott's just like, "oh, a Griever? I'll take him down," you know, and we're just like, oh, wow.
This is so much easier.
" So anyone - Beats these spears.
- They're all welcome over.
I would love to be able to turn into a wolf, um I want to be on Teen Wolf, Dylan.
You said you'd try and get me on it.
- Please, come on.
- I wanna get on Teen Wolf.
I'm there all the time.
If I was in the maze in real life, I don't know if I have many qualities that would help.
I wouldn't be good.
- I'd be really scared.
- I don't think anyone would.
I would go with height, just 'cause a lot of the walls I could just look I'd just be like Yeah.
Intimidation.
Yeah, you'd be like Nothing we wanna be escaping for.
That looks horrible.
Make sure you check us out in The Maze Runner which hits theaters on September 19th.
Back to you, Jill.
Whoo, baby.
Whoo, baby.
All right, usually this is the time where we give you a preview of next week's episode, but since there is no new episode next week, - I know - Oh, no! Cry those tears, everyone.
We're gonna look back at our favorite moments from season four.
We're here for Derek Hale.
I think we found Derek.
Do you have any idea why Kate would turn Derek into a teenager again? She took him back to the age where he still knew her, when he still trusted her.
Hey, handsome.
So you want to learn to control it? Want to get angry, Kate? Let's get angry! "Money transferred.
" What does that mean? - What is this? - It's a dead pool And we're all on it.
$117 million stolen from the Hale vault is being used by someone to finance all these murders someone who wants every supernatural in Beacon Hills dead.
Telepathic girl overhears thoughts of comatose werewolf and decides to enact his plans for retribution.
No.
It's not finished.
It's not finished! Aah! - So you bit him.
- Yeah.
This isn't gonna end with us burying the pieces of his body - out in the desert, is it? - What? You guys sure he's gonna turn into a werewolf? I'm sure he's gonna live.
Did I do okay? For our first real date, it's a start.
I like you, Stiles.
I like you a lot.
You cheated.
Learning to bend.
Yes, I've done horrible, terrible things.
You might be related to him, but you're not like him.
Maybe I am.
And horrible, terrible things are going to keep happening.
Especially When there's a dead pool with your name on it.
Maybe we should all be running from Beacon Hills, running for our lives As fast as we can.
You wanna bail on the plan.
Not when I'm this close to killing Scott McCall.
What's happening to us? Aah! You were never an Alpha, Peter But you were always a monster.
Aah! All right, I want to thank Tyler Posey, Dylan O'Brien, Tyler Hoechlin, and Jeff Davis for hanging out here tonight and thanks to our house DJ, Cole Plante, for his work all season long.
Yeah, Cole.
- Whoo! - Yes, Cole.
We love Cole.
And I just personally want to thank all the Teen Wolf fans out there and the fans of Wolf Watch.
And I think I can speak for all of us when we say we do this for you, so thank you, thank you, thank you and, uh, yes Our fans deserve a big round of applause.
And you can head over to the after-after show on MTV.
com and the MTV app right now where Hoechlin will be hanging out.
Oh, yes.
I'm Jill Wagner reminding you to watch your back, 'cause you never know what creatures are lurking out there in the dark.
Cole, take us away one last time.
