(solemn music continues)
- These cliffs, they
remind me of the wrinkles
on a wise old man's face,
full of stories, legends.
Epic adventures happened
here, and major battles.
A long time ago, the rock giants
arrived on Earth and they
endangered our very existence.
And just when everyone
thought it was too late,
a legendary creature
descended from the sky,
and it was so powerful
that it resonated
with the air like thunder.
(thunder rumbles)
The Thunderbird battled
the giant and defeated it.
When the battle was over,
it didn't leave.
It stayed and is
watching over us,
high up in the mountains
above the clouds,
because the rock
giant's still here,
waiting for the day
when it can rise again.
I have something I
want you to have.
It served its purpose for me.
It's a Thunderbird talisman.
I hope it will keep you safe.
(solemn music)
- [June] But Dad, you're
protecting us.
- Sweetie, I'm only
on this Earth
for a, a brief time in history.
The Thunderbird's forever.
(solemn dramatic music)
(dramatic music)
(bird screeching)
(slow bright music)
(slow dramatic music)
(dramatic music)
(car whooshing)
- Hard right, now!
(car engine rumbling)
(car tires crunching)
(soft suspenseful music)
(wind whooshing)
Cory! Come on, man, we
gotta record this.
(dramatic rock music)
Hey! Come on!
Morning.
- Morning, Mark.
(car door thuds)
Hey.
(gentle bright music)
- Cory, I want you to make sure
that you're getting close
on Alice, okay?
(Mark groaning)
(keyboard keys clacking)
(Mark grunts)
Yeah. Yeah.
(screen trilling)
All right. This (chuckles)
is Alice Wright.
Now she developed pretty
much every instrument
that you can see here.
- Problems?
- Just some last
minute logistics.
- Because if there's a problem
I need to let corporate know.
- [Alice] Susan,
everything is fine.
- Who is this guy and why
does he have a camera?
- Yeah, (chuckles) wait, um,
we're about to make
history here, Ms. Klaas,
and you don't want a, a
record of it?
But besides, he's signed
all of your NDAs.
That's right?
- Yeah, but I don't
even know why I'm here.
- Good. Because you're not here.
None of us are here.
(computer beeps)
(screen trilling)
(Mark sighs)
- [Cory] Mark, is, is
this even legal?
- Hey, new guy, she's the
one that pays our bills.
(keyboard keys clacking)
Mark, what's our window?
- Uh, oh, we lose the window
in four minutes. Okay.
- [Alice] Four minutes, okay.
- All right, today we
make history,
thanks to a coordinated
effort between our team here
on the surface of the Earth
and the PAX orbiting
space station.
Today we are about to execute
the first teleport
experiment ever attempted.
Now we're gonna start
with a small object
and then we're gonna
move to bigger objects,
and then hopefully
biological elements.
- Yeah, but we need
the transmitter
to be perfectly aligned
with PAX's orbit.
- Three minutes!
- Okay, in three minutes,
PAX's orbit
will be perfectly
aligned with us and well,
hey, you, you can't see
it, only we can see it,
but um, that's when we're
gonna make the transfer.
(computer trills)
- Here they are.
PAX, Thunderbird One here,
do you copy?
(upbeat music)
(slow dramatic music)
(computer trills)
- [Computer] Incoming
transmission from Thunderbird
One.
- [Mark] PAX, this is
Thunderbird One.
You're entering our
communication space.
Do you copy?
(computer trilling)
- [Computer]
Commander on speakers.
- [June] All
personnel at stations.
We are entering the
transverse window.
(dramatic music)
(slow dramatic music)
- [Computer] All
procedures initiated.
(slow dramatic music)
Entering in three sequences.
- Sir?
(slow dramatic music)
(computer beeps)
- [Computer] Attention,
gate opening.
(dramatic music)
(suspenseful music)
(gate creaks)
Gate open.
(keyboard keys clacking)
This is not a simulation.
Receiving the target.
- Who's monitoring the storm?
- The storm is miles away.
- We won't have time to
reposition if this storm-
- The storm is stationary.
- Storm holding steady, sir.
(air whooshing)
- They should've brought
the plasma cannons.
They're gonna need the boost
if this storm interferes.
- [Computer] Incoming
transmission.
(static hisses)
- Good morning, everyone.
- We're busy, June.
- Be nice.
- Monitors up.
- Monitors are up.
(screen trilling)
- [Computer] Countdown
to transport initiated.
(dramatic music)
- Go ahead.
- Countdown confirmed.
All system holding.
- We got a Condition Red
at the receiver.
(receiver whirring and clicking)
- [Computer] Receiver engaged.
All levels sealed.
(dramatic music)
Projector locked.
- Projectors one and two locked.
- [Computer] Five, four, three,
two, one.
Projector locked.
- [Kyle] Projector three locked.
- This is as far as we
have ever been able to get.
(dramatic music)
(static hissing)
(screen humming)
(upbeat music)
- Alice! Get out of there,
it's time.
(bright upbeat music)
(energy humming)
(screen trilling)
(bright upbeat music continues)
- [Computer] Emergency: energy
levels at security point.
- Energy levels are too
high. We need to abort.
- No!
- We can't afford a
structural damage.
- The station will hold.
Trust me.
It will hold.
- System alert.
(alarm blaring)
(static hissing)
Emergency! Emergency!
(energy humming)
(uplifting upbeat music)
(uplifting upbeat
music continues)
(uplifting upbeat
music continues)
- Check the receiver.
(suspenseful music)
- We did it!
- (gasps) Well done, everyone.
(screen whooshes)
- Transfer completed.
- Yes! (chuckles) Thank God,
we did it.
(air whooshing)
(gentle suspenseful music)
(fire crackling)
(upbeat rock music)
(upbeat rock music continues)
On top
Standing on top of the world
Everybody rocks
Hey, hey, hey
Everyone's in shock
Standing on top
On top of the world
(fire crackling)
- Thank you.
(Cory sighs)
(screen trilling)
- [Computer] Incoming
transmission.
- Dr. Wylde, congratulations.
We made history today.
- Yeah, you sent a trinket
into space. Good for you.
- Hey, Alice. Good job today.
- So what about June? Hmm?
Do we get to see her finally?
Maybe it's time to
reconnect the family.
- I just wanna talk to
Alice about tomorrow's test.
- You can talk tomorrow.
- Never put off until tomorrow
what you can do today.
So-
- See you later!
(screen trills)
(upbeat rock music)
- (scoffs) Good night.
- Were they?
- Yes, they are in space.
- Wild. Who is June?
- My big sis. Yeah.
All of this, passion for
space, Thunderbird project.
It all started from our father.
(melancholic music)
(fire crackling)
- Is he?
- Yeah. And he's up
there somewhere.
(solemn music)
(Alice sighs)
Look, I need to get back to
the lab at ground control.
I wanna look over our data.
- Can I go with you?
- Uh, (chuckles) no.
Stay here and help 'em pack.
- Okay.
(solemn music)
(Alice sniffles)
(footsteps crunching)
(Mark sighs)
(wind whooshing)
(footsteps tapping)
- Headed back to the lab?
(car door thuds)
- (scoffs) You're more nervous
trying to make a
human connection
than actually sending
people into space.
Susan, we got fire,
we got beers and the stars.
This is your chance. This
is your chance.
(wind whooshing)
(car door clicks)
(car door thuds)
- This and that'll light up. Oh,
oh.
Oh, hey look, uh, it's time.
Come here. You need to see this.
All right, (sighs) um,
now you can't
see this during the day,
because there's too much light,
but when it's dark, go ahead.
- That is freaking cool.
(air whooshing)
- She didn't wanna-
- [Computer] Danger!
(asteroids whooshing)
(asteroids crashing)
Impact. Impact!
(alarm blaring)
(ship rattling)
Impact!
(glass clattering)
Danger!
- I didn't know there was so
many shooting stars up there.
(cameras whirring)
- Cory. Cory, Cory, get up.
Take this. Take it, take it.
- [Cory] Okay.
(suspenseful music)
- [Mark] We've got a problem.
- Oh my God!
(asteroids crashing)
- [Mark] Help me!
- Oh my God! Mark!
- Come on.
(explosion crashing)
(all panting)
Come on.
(dramatic music)
- Mark!
Mark! Come on!
- Keep going!
Keep going! Come on, Mark!
Let's go. Mark!
What the hell are you
doing? We gotta go, come on!
(asteroids whooshing)
(Mark groans)
(asteroids crashing)
(dramatic music)
(rock clattering)
(asteroids whooshing)
(asteroids crashing)
(suspenseful music)
- Ground control, do you copy?
We've just been hit with
an apparent asteroid swarm.
The station has been damaged.
We're still operational,
but I'll transmit a
damage report
as soon as all sectors
have reported in.
(screen trills)
- [Computer] Pressure
system activated.
(suspenseful music)
(alarm blaring)
50%.
80%.
Gravity restored.
(dramatic music)
(soft suspenseful music)
(door whirring and whooshing)
(June grunts)
(air whooshing)
(dramatic music)
(June panting)
(June groans)
(dramatic music)
(air continues whooshing)
(case whizzing)
(June screaming)
(air whooshing)
(June panting)
(dramatic music)
(suspenseful music)
(June screams)
(metal creaking)
(button trills)
(door whooshes)
(June gasps)
(June panting)
(dramatic music)
(screen trills)
- We have a breach at
level seven.
Please report damages.
(eerie suspenseful music)
(eerie suspenseful
music continues)
(gentle bright music)
(gentle bright music continues)
(gentle bright music continues)
- Oh. (groans)
(gentle bright music)
- Oh, damn!
This is all destroyed.
Cory, will you check to see
if the Jeep still works?
(car door thuds)
(car engine rumbling)
- We're good to go.
(gentle foreboding music)
(cases clattering)
(gentle foreboding
music continues)
- No! Oh, no, no, no!
Oh no.
(Cory groans)
(Alice exclaims)
(Mark sighs)
Did we lose any more equipment?
- Well, one of the transmitters
got trashed by the storm,
but (clears throat) we can
probably repair it here.
(sighs) I haven't been
able to make contact
to ground control since then.
- Yeah, well they probably
lost their communications too.
What about the actual send unit?
- Well, I mean, it's banged
up but it's operational.
- Okay, well, we should
probably contact PAX
and tell them what the
heck just happened here.
I mean, we're gonna have
to delay the organics test.
- Oh (chuckles) yeah.
Dr. Stewart's not gonna
be crazy about that,
but that is the least
of our worries
because the storm trashed
our link to PAX as well.
Probably the asteroid swarm
took out some of their
equipment too.
I've been outta
communication with them
since the start of the storm.
- Oh crap, okay, well,
do you think
you can make any of this work?
- Let's see.
All right, batteries are okay.
Um, the main console is
still good, so.
- Okay.
- I mean,
outside of the
communication system
and some wire DI,
I can probably fix everything,
yeah.
- Okay. Well, you know what,
these, these should work.
I mean, we'll have about, I
don't know, a 10-mile range
and ground control is
about 60 miles out.
So if I'm going full speed
there and back,
we'll be outta communication
for about two hours.
- Yeah, I can survive with that.
- Okay, great.
- Alice, you can't go
by yourself.
You don't know what you're
gonna find out there.
- Uh, I'm not gonna go alone.
Susan, you come with me.
- I may be more useful here.
- No, Cory's right.
And it's better to have
more options on your way.
Look, I-I'm good here.
You guys go.
- I insist. My financial and
technical interests are here.
- Look, I will contact
you every 10 minutes
until we're outta communication,
okay?
- Okay.
- Right,
let's do this.
- Be careful.
(suspenseful music)
(door rumbles and whooshes)
(John panting)
(door whooshes and clicks)
(suspenseful music)
(John continues panting)
(suspenseful music continues)
(static crackles)
(screen trills)
(John continues panting)
- [John] Oh!
(suspenseful music continues)
(John panting)
(keyboard key clacking)
(screen trills)
- [Elisabeth] John?
- [John] I repaired
the leak in the section
aft of the hydroponics lab,
but I need to check
in with the doc
before I do anything else.
I cut myself on one of the
damn rocks I found inside.
- Would be great if you
could get it fixed
before Stew wakes up.
He's determined to do
that test today.
- [John] If he can do
it any faster,
he's welcome to do it himself.
- John, I really appreciate
what you're doing.
Do you have any samples?
- [John] Anything else I
can do for you?
(John sighs)
(soft slow suspenseful music)
(air whooshing)
(slow suspenseful music)
- Good news, no fractures,
but not so good,
your DMX test shows bone density
is decreasing exponentially.
- I knew this was a risk.
- How's the pain?
- Comes and goes.
Don't look at me like that.
(Dr. Singh sighs)
- June, your articular cartilage
and inter vertebral disc-
- Oh, come on, Doc, stop
throwing medical jargon at me.
- All right, let's put
it like this.
If you don't take the next
shuttle back down to Earth,
you will lose all mobility.
Forget about walking. You won't
be able to turn over in bed.
- My work here isn't done.
There's still the
teleportation experiments.
I can't leave the work undone.
(solemn music)
- Reminds me.
For you. Special tele-delivery.
(solemn music continues)
Now every astronaut
develops osteoarthritis
with exposure to microgravity,
and you've been here how long?
June, you've done great
work here. Pioneering work.
You, you, you've done
the hard part.
You can rest on your laurels.
Let someone else do the job.
- It's not just ego.
(solemn music)
Daniel Habid had been
training for this job forever.
He'd be awesome.
But my condition is incurable,
and I'd be in a lot more
pain in the higher gravity.
- I'm going to add Celecoxib
into your milkshake.
- Does it come in chocolate?
- It tastes like mortadella.
(June chuckles)
(keyboard keys clacking)
(John panting)
- Dr. Singh! Ma'am.
Ma'am.
- Oh, that looks nasty.
What happened?
- [John] Something caught me.
- Right through the
Kevlar glove.
Do you think there's any
foreign debris in there?
- I don't think so.
(screen trills)
(John yells)
- Good, you still have feeling.
We'll have the analysis
back later today.
- I need to get back to work.
- No, no, no. I think you
should stay right here.
We're gonna keep an eye on you.
- Uh, John, did you happen
to collect some samples?
(suspenseful music)
- Ah, well, they just
look like rocks.
Sometime rock is just a rock,
you know?
- It just strikes me as
more than a coincidence
that minutes after a successful
teleportation experiment
we've been hit with the
worst asteroid swarm
since PAX was constructed.
It's almost as if we
woke something up.
I'll take these to Dr.
Stewart for analysis.
Thanks, Doc.
- No problem.
You might as well get
comfortable.
(John groans)
(soft suspenseful music)
(suspenseful music)
(dramatic rock music)
(upbeat rock music)
- [Alice] Mark? Mark,
do you copy?
- [Mark] Loud and clear.
- All right, we're about
nine miles away from you,
so this will probably be
our last communication.
- [Mark] Okay. Well, keep
going, we're good here.
Transmitter's almost repaired.
- [Alice] Awesome, okay, well,
hang tight and we'll be back
before you start
getting too hangry.
- [Mark] (chuckles) Okay.
Be careful out there.
(static hissing)
Over and out.
(signal trills)
- (chuckles) Over.
(dramatic rock music)
(singer vocalizing)
Turn right here.
Ground control should
be right up this road.
(dramatic rock music)
- Sorry to disappoint you,
but I don't think we're
gonna make it there.
- What do you mean?
- When we first started
the tank was full.
Now it's almost empty.
I think one of the rocks
must have hit the tank.
- Okay, well, just keep going,
and we have to hit a gas
station or something.
(dramatic rock music)
- [Computer] Sector
five operative.
Power lost in sectors
three and four.
- Okay, thank you.
(screen trilling)
(suspenseful music)
(ship rumbling and creaking)
(suspenseful music continues)
(eerie suspenseful music)
(suspenseful music)
(bed clattering)
(soft ominous music)
(screen trilling)
(car engine rumbling)
(car doors clicking)
(Cory gasps)
(car door thuds)
- Huh!
Maybe they ran to find shelter.
Weird.
- Yeah, the tank has been hit.
I could try to find
something to repair it quick,
unless you wanna find
another car.
- Let's try to find something.
I'm gonna go inside and
see if there's anyone
that can tell us what
just happened here.
- Oh, you do that.
(Cory sighs)
(bell dings)
- Hello?
Hello?
(radio clunks)
(door rattles and squeaks)
(gentle soft suspenseful music)
(door thuds)
(bottle clatters)
(slow suspenseful music)
That's.
(objects clattering)
(gentle soft suspenseful music)
- Well, that's weird.
- Oh! Welcome to my world.
- Welcome to my world!
(both chuckle)
- You're silly.
(gentle soft suspenseful music)
- Hey, isn't this your dad?
He's talking about you here.
- Yeah, but let's not read that.
- Come on.
- No, seriously.
Let's just put it back.
- Sorry, Alice, I
didn't mean to.
- It's okay. Don't
worry about it.
You know, he was
ahead of his time.
Maybe too much.
He never got enough
credibility for his theories,
so he just started to
slowly lose everything.
You know, the teaching career,
his money,
his family.
He just felt like a
failed scientist.
A failed husband, failed father.
- [Cory] I'm sorry.
- You know that day,
I don't know if it
was pure chance
or if it was planned,
but we actually ran into him
on a field trip at the
Grand Canyon.
(solemn music)
We played and we talked.
It's like magic.
It's like if time never passed,
like if we were a family again.
(rousing solemn music)
- Now, here's.
What kinda rock is this now?
Huh?
- Obsidian.
- Right. Right, you two.
Hey! Hey, hey, hey, hey,
look at this.
What is this? What is this now,
huh?
- Wehrlite.
- You knew that that
quick, huh? (chuckles)
You are the clever one,
aren't you?
Now this, this is what
I'm gonna get you on.
What is this?
What kinda rock is that?
It's not a rock.
It was wood, now it's
petrified wood.
It's from a tree that
used to grow out here
230 million years ago.
Now just because you don't
know the answer
doesn't mean you're incompetent.
There's a lot of fake
questions out there
and there's a lot of games
that don't play by the rules.
You girls are special.
There's no one else like
you in the whole universe.
Just remember that, okay?
Come on, let's go to the river.
(solemn music)
- He gave me the
Thunderbird necklace
and, and then it was time to go.
(solemn music)
- [Mom] Okay, guys, let's go.
(solemn music)
- And as I was walking
back to the car,
I realized that I left
the necklace on a rock.
- [Alice] Oh, no, the necklace!
- (groans) Fine, I'll go get it.
(solemn music)
(air whooshing)
(mysterious solemn music)
(mysterious music)
(mysterious somber music)
- After that day, like,
June doesn't even wanna
talk to me anymore.
She started focusing on
her passion for space
and (sighs) she just
kinda forgot about me.
I guess I triggered too
many memories for her.
- Come on, let's go.
Come on, come on, let's,
let's leave this place.
Come on.
- All right.
(air whooshing)
(foreboding music)
(keyboard keys clattering)
(slow suspenseful music)
(screen trilling)
- All of the samples seems
to be fragments
of one or more S-type asteroids.
Footnote: siliceous.
The individual fragments
have smooth margins,
but sharp on the edges.
This suggests they may be
part of a larger whole.
- Communication still
isn't working.
- Get John back on it.
- [Elisabeth] Doctor, are
you with John?
- No.
- Can you please check on him?
- [Dr. Singh] I'm on my way.
- Am I the only one
who understands
the urgency of the situation?
If we lose our window for
the experiment,
I will have to wait
weeks to try again.
- There is something here
you need to see.
(ominous music)
(dramatic ominous music)
(suspenseful music)
(suspenseful music continues)
If this happened as a result
of his touching the space rock
we need to be very careful,
and we have to inform
Earth to keep people away
from any that might
have fallen down there.
- John was supposed to
repair the comms array.
- You mean we're still
out of touch with Earth?
- I'm afraid so.
- I need to understand
exactly what happened.
(ominous music)
(door thuds)
(footsteps crunching)
(object clatters)
(metal clunks)
(footsteps crunching)
(foreboding music)
(Mark sighs)
(Mark gasps)
- Any contact with Alice?
- No.
- [Mark] (sighs) We need her
to recalibrate the machine
for the organics test.
- We need to reestablish
a connection with PAX.
I need to make sure those
people are still in one piece.
(Mark groans)
- There's something here.
(ominous music)
Ow! (grunts) Hm!
- Is that?
- Yeah. Yeah, I think so.
- Let me see.
- No, no, no, no.
It's, uh, it's fine, it's fine.
It's nothing bad.
Um, you know, we should, uh,
we should get back to work.
We got a lot more important
things to do here.
Any contact yet?
Maybe try again?
- [Susan] Alice? Alice,
do you copy?
Alice, do you copy?
(static crackling)
Alice?
(ominous music)
Alice?
(Mark grunting)
Anybody?
(suspenseful music)
- Cory, do you know
where I put my radio at?
I think I left it inside.
(suspenseful music)
(door creaks and thuds)
(suspenseful music continues)
(eerie suspenseful music)
(suspenseful music)
(screen trilling)
(machinery whirring)
(suspenseful music)
(screen trilling)
- [Computer] Sample collected.
(suspenseful music)
(dramatic music)
Scan complete.
(screen trilling)
(gentle suspenseful music)
- I am still
detecting a heartbeat.
- You mean John could be
alive in there?
- Do you have the
results of the DNA scans?
Could this be some sort of
scleroderma in acceleration?
- There's no data until we're
back in touch with Earth.
(suspenseful music)
- We're all by
ourselves out here.
(eerie suspenseful music)
(suspenseful music)
- Hey, other than the water,
I couldn't find
anything else useful.
- So what's this about?
- What?
- You know, the story of
the petroglyph?
- Oh, well, it's a
very old legend,
open to tons of interpretation.
The Thunderbird and
the Giant Rock.
Yeah, it's, it's
something so bizarre
that happened back in
the Bronze Age.
But all stories
suggest that a deity
sent creatures down
as punishment.
It was a near-extinction event,
which is how most people
explain the unexplained.
- (groans) What do you
mean by unexplained?
- An alien encounter.
The Phoenix Petroglyph,
it dates back approximately
12,000 years ago.
It tells a story of
an epic battle
that happened here on Earth,
and how it was saved
from an alien organism
that scattered its seeds.
(wind whooshing)
(suspenseful music)
Uh, Cory, have you noticed
these formations before?
Mark? Mark, Susan, do you copy?
(static trilling and hissing)
(dramatic music)
- Shew! That should do it.
Let's try and find some fuel.
Come on.
- Yeah, let's go.
We need to figure out
exactly what's going on here.
(suspenseful music)
(eerie suspenseful music)
(soft foreboding music)
(ominous music)
(keyboard keys clacking)
(screen trilling)
(suspenseful music)
(dramatic music)
(menhir crackling)
(suspenseful music)
(suspenseful music continues)
(foreboding music)
(menhir crackling)
(dramatic music)
(suspenseful music)
(energy booming and whooshing)
(lights clatter)
(eerie suspenseful music)
(screen trills)
- Yes, ma'am?
- I've just lost power
in my quarters.
Is it a system's wide failure?
- [Kyle] No, ma'am.
It seems to be local to
the lab section.
(dramatic music)
(screen trilling)
(eerie suspenseful music)
(dramatic music)
(suspenseful music)
(switches clicking)
(screen beeping)
- [Computer] Illumination
system compromised.
(creature gasping)
(creature squelching)
(suspenseful music)
(creature panting and creaking)
(slow suspenseful music)
(dramatic music)
(creature squelching)

(energy humming)
(slow suspenseful music)
(slow suspenseful
music continues)
(suspenseful music)
(June gasps)
- Computer, seal the
infirmary sector.
- [Computer] The sensors show
life forms in the sector.
- I'm in that sector.
- [Computer] Two life
forms detected:
one human, one undefined.
- Seal the whole sector,
but allow my override
so I can leave.
(doors whizzing)
(dramatic music)
(door rumbling)
(suspenseful music)
(door clicks)
Computer, open a security
line with Dr. Stewart.
- What is it, June?
- Dr. Singh is dead.
- What? (clicks fingers)
- It looks like John killed him.
And it looks like John
isn't John anymore.
(keyboard keys clacking)
- I'm bringing up security
camera footage now.
That's odd.
(static hissing)
June, some of the
cameras are down.
(eerie dramatic music)
(static hissing)
(creature rumbling)
(dramatic music)
(static hissing)
(rousing suspenseful music)
(eerie suspenseful music)
(Mark grunts)
- No! Susan, don't touch,
don't touch me.
Ow! I can feel my body changing.
It's, it's something,
something from the fragment.
If this is happening to me,
it's happening to, to anyone
that touched the space rock.
(Mark grunting)
You need to find them.
You've got to find them.
(panting)
(Mark groans)
I- I can't. I can barely move.
(suspenseful music)
(Mark groaning)
(Mark gasping)
Got it, here, take that,
take that, take it to 'em.
Take it, take it, take
that to them.
Yes, grab that GPS. Go, go, go!
(dramatic music)
(Mark grunting)
(intense dramatic music)
- Looks like he went
on a rampage.
We need to contain him.
(intense dramatic
music continues)
(intense dramatic
music continues)
Where is he?
- [Elisabeth] Sector B.
- Let's seal the compartment.
Let's keep him there until we
don't know what to do with it.
I'm coming to the control room.
(tense dramatic music)
(keyboard keys clacking)
(computer beeping)
(keyboard keys
continue clacking)
(door whirring)
- I'm checking the cameras.
(keyboard keys clacking)
(static hissing)
(tense dramatic music)
It's barely moving.
Even motion sensor have
hard time detecting it.
(tense dramatic music)
(static hissing)
(computer beeping)
(rousing dramatic music)
There!
(static crackling)
(suspenseful music)
- We need the results
on that DNA.
Is there anything we
can do up here?
- Can try in Dr. Singh lab
and see what we can do.
- Good. Let's go.
- Professor, as
second in command,
I need you to come
with me first.
(tense dramatic music)
(door whooshing)
(dramatic music)
(suspenseful music)
(static hissing and crackling)
(screen trilling)
(dramatic music)
(tense dramatic music)
(dramatic staccato music)
(suspenseful music)
(Susan sighs)
(zipper rasps)
(Susan sighs)
- Why did I wear the cute boots?
(Susan sighs)
(suspenseful music continues)
(eerie suspenseful music)
(tense dramatic music)
(tense dramatic music continues)
- We are here to celebrate
Dr. Singh and Rose.
They've dedicated their life to-
(eerie suspenseful music)
(coffin rattles)
(suspenseful music)
(dramatic music)
- Are they alive?
- Open the deck. Now!
- Now look, June, we need
to study this.
- One creature in my
station is enough.
Do it.
- No!
(suspenseful music)
(coffins whooshing)
(dramatic music)
(suspenseful music)
- Hello?
Anybody? Hello?
(suspenseful music)
(radio trills)
Alice? Cory?
(static crackling)
Are you there?
(suspenseful music)
(footsteps crunching)
(footsteps tapping)
(upbeat rock music)
(horse snorts)
(upbeat rock music continues)
(horse snorts)
Let's do this.
(upbeat dramatic music)
(screen whirring)
- Is the sample corrupted?
- It's the assumption
that's corrupt.
You're assuming the
DNA is human.
- I'll run it again.
There has to be
another explanation.
- It's pretty obvious
what's happening here.
Brown's study of the
Murchison meteorite
at JPL found organic matter.
- But nothing this complex.
Nothing that could create that.
- [Dr. Stew] What does it want?
What does it need?
- How long before we
can contain him?
- What if we can't contain him?
- We have to kill it.
- Are you insane?
The first contact with an
alien life form in history
and you wanna kill it, again!
- And if it's silicon-based,
like Dr. Stewart thinks,
all bets could be off.
(dramatic music)
- Our core-based are
tipped with diamond blades.
- That might do it.
- Flame throwers.
Rock melts at 1,000
degrees Celsius.
- There are some stored
in the utility sector.
- But maybe we can trap it.
- We're about to play
a cosmic game
of rock, paper, scissors.
And I don't like our odds.
(rousing suspenseful music)
(suspenseful music)
(zipper rasps)
- Do we really have to do it?
- Time to be a hero.
(suspenseful music)
(static crackling)
(screen trilling)
(suspenseful music)
(footsteps tapping)
(ship creaking)
(Dr. Stew sighs)
(keyboard keys clacking)
(suspenseful music)

(tense dramatic music)
(tense dramatic music continues)
(static crackling)
(dramatic music)
- [June] Where is he?
- He's moving to sector one.
He's coming here!
(suspenseful music)
(static crackling)
- [June] Kyle, behind you!
(dramatic music)
(flame roaring)
(Kyle yelling)
(static crackling)
(Kyle panting)
(suspenseful music)
- The flame thrower back it off,
but I'm not sure if it's hurt.
- Wounded animals are dangerous.
- Kyle, I'm coming your way.
(suspenseful music)
(screen trilling)
(dramatic music)
(Kyle screams)
(suspenseful music)
(static crackling)
(screen beeps)
(tense dramatic music)
(creature grunting)
(screen whirs)
(tense dramatic music continues)
(creature growling)
(dramatic music)
(June yells)
(flames roaring)
(creature screaming)
(static crackling)
Okay!
I think I'm outta flames here.
(screen crackling)
- The flame made the
sensor crazy.
- Emergency! Emergency!
(alarm blaring)
(suspenseful music)
(screen trills)
- Elisabeth, he's gone.
(suspenseful music)
(button beeps)
- Access denied.
Access denied.
(alarm blaring)
- It's not working!
- I!
- Emergency!
Emergency!
- There's too many damages.
- [Computer] System
not responding.
Reboot needed.
- It's not working! June!
(slow suspenseful music)
(screen trills)
- Come on, guys,
I'm a sitting duck out here.
- [Elisabeth] Do you have
access to an oxygen mask?
(alarm blaring)
- There's a compartment
before the lab.
- [Elisabeth] I need to
reboot the whole system.
We will lose life support
during the procedure.
(alarm blaring)
(dramatic music)
- I'm on my way.
(tense dramatic music)
(alarm blaring)
(tense dramatic music)
(June panting)
(creature creaking)
(screen trills)
He's here.
(June panting)
(tense dramatic music)
(creature grunting)
(lights buzzing)
(June gasping)
(creature creaking)
(suspenseful music)
Do it! Do it now.
(rousing suspenseful music)
(alarm blaring)
(screen trills)
- [Computer] Reboot.
(machinery whirring)
(June panting)
(June gulps and pants)
(soft slow suspenseful music)
(suspenseful music)
(lights whirring)
(eerie suspenseful music)
(creature creaking
and squelching)
(creature purring)
(creature growling)
(slow eerie suspenseful music)
(creature creaking)
(eerie bright music)
(dramatic music)
(creature squelching)
(creature creaking and huffing)
(creature squelching)
(dramatic music)
(June panting)
(screen trilling)
System rebooted.
(alarm beeping)
(machinery whirring)
(air whooshing)
(lights clicking and buzzing)
(tense dramatic music)
(creature thudding and grunting)
- Open the door!
Open the fucking door!
(button beeps)
(intense suspenseful music)
(button beeps)
(creature whines)
(suspenseful music)
(June panting)
No more reboots!
(Elisabeth gasping)
(Elisabeth exhales sharply)
(creature creaking and huffing)
(screen trilling)
(air whooshing)
(car engine rumbling)
- [Alice] Ground control.
This is one of the secret
Zosgate installations.
(car tires crunching)
(screen trilling)
- [Computer] Access denied.
Access denied.
(car door clicks)
- Come on!
(screen trilling)
- [Computer] Access denied.
- It's not working!
Okay, well, if they're
out of power,
then the emergency generators
must be giving energy
to the main building.
But (sighs) we're
gonna have to go
all the way around this
mountain to reach it.
Come on!
(screen trilling)
(ground rumbling)
- What was that?
(suspenseful music)
(slow dramatic music)
(dramatic music)
(rock groaning)
(rocks clattering)
You said it was way
around the mountain side?
- Yeah. Yeah, I did.
(dramatic music)
(car engine rumbling)
(dramatic music)
(rocks clattering)
(screen beeping)
- Are you all right?
- It spent some time going
back and forth in the hallway.
Then we lost the signal.
- Uh, any breaks in the hull?
Anyway he got sucked
out the station?
- Negative. He's here somewhere.
(screen trilling)
- Well, (sighs) time
to be a man.
(cables clatter)
(screen trilling)
(door clicks and whooshes)
(suspenseful music)
(zipper rasps)
The last track we have of
it is 50 feet on your left.
- I left the flame thrower
towards the infirmary.
Maybe we can recover it first.
(suspenseful music)
- [Dr. Stew] You're
going the opposite way.
- We're trying to get
some weapons at least.
You can come out here,
if you prefer.
(suspenseful music)
(clock ticking)
(suspenseful music continues)
(clock continues ticking)
(June and Elisabeth panting)
It's there!
(suspenseful music continues)
(air whooshing)
(suspenseful music)
(suspenseful music continues)
(steam hissing)
Shit!
- [Dr. Stew] What?
What's going on?
(June and Elisabeth panting)
(metal creaking)
(dramatic music)
- June! Shoot, shoot!
- I can't! This thing
is not working!
Run! Run!
Let's go!
Wait!
(dramatic music)
(intense suspenseful music)
(metal creaking)
(creature squelching)
(June panting)
(tense dramatic music)
(car door clicks)
(footsteps crunching)
(footsteps continues crunching)
(screen trilling)
(lock clicks)
- Door unlocked.
(door clicks and creaks)
(door thuds)
- Come on!
(soft suspenseful music)
(gentle suspenseful music)
(Alice sighs)
(soft suspenseful music)
(suspenseful music)
There's more of them.
(suspenseful music continues)
(dramatic music)
(torches clicking)
(suspenseful music)
Emergency generators.
We'll try to turn them on.
Hey, but be careful.
We don't know what
these things are
or how dangerous they can be.
- [Cory] You don't have
to tell me twice.
(suspenseful music)
(generators whirring)
Thank God.
This is the equipment
Mark was talking about.
Check if there are damages.
(suspenseful music)
(keyboard keys clacking)
(suspenseful music)
(keyboard keys clacking)
(screen trilling)
(dramatic music)
(creature squelching)
(creature creaking)
(dramatic music)
(suspenseful music)
(creature creaking)
(intensifying dramatic music)
(creature whooshing)
(intense dramatic music)
(tense dramatic music)
(dramatic music)
- Dear God.
- [Elisabeth] June, we
are ready for the autopsy.
- Thank you. I'll be
there shortly.
(dramatic music)
(energetic dramatic music)
(horse hooves thudding)
(energetic dramatic
music continues)
- Mother of God. What is that?
(rock rumbles)
(dramatic music)
Alice? Cory, do you copy?
(dramatic music continues)
(rock rumbling)
(dramatic music continues)
- What the hell were those?
- Just the beginning. (sighs)
(suspenseful music)
Dad knew it. He knew!
If it keeps this path, it's
heading straight to Phoenix.
(suspenseful music)
- What we did back there,
you said this was a test.
We were trying to
transport something bigger?
- We teleported a
necklace, and it took years
and a multimillion investment.
- I'm no scientist, but
w-what's the difference
between a necklace
and a big rock?
- We need to
triangulate with PAX
and the energy needed is.
(suspenseful music)
A rock!
The main part of this project
is to complete the transfer
of rebuilding the molecular map
of an object or an organism.
But in this case, we need
to do exactly the opposite.
- Sounds good to me.
- Yeah!
(slow soft suspenseful music)
(gentle dramatic music)
(suspenseful music)
(machinery whirring)
(creature squelching)
(screen trilling)
(suspenseful music)
(static hissing)
(soft gentle dramatic music)
(camera whirring)
(soft suspenseful music)
- [Elisabeth] The cause of
death appears to be hypoxia.
- [Dr. Stew] Just like
any other human being?
- Yes.
We had to reboot the
whole station
and we lost life support
for a few minutes.
- Hm, in the simulations,
we tried to project a teleported
object to an off target.
That's how we have
supposed to travel
to other planets, correct?
- We call it the jump.
- Yes, the jump.
What if we jumped that
thing into the open space?
(rousing suspenseful music)
(slow soft suspenseful music)
(keyboard keys clacking)
(screen trilling)
- [Computer] Incoming
transmission.
- PAX? PAX, this is
ground control.
- [Dr. Stew] Alice,
you're alive!
- There is a giant entity
that just destroyed
ground control.
It's heading
straight to Phoenix,
but, but we came up
with this idea.
I know it sounds crazy, but-
- [Alice and Dr. Stew] We can
teleport it into space. (sigh)
- Okay, so we have
the transmitter
but we don't have a
platform big enough.
This thing is too big.
- [Dr. Stew] Okay, Alice,
listen.
- We don't have the chip.
(sighs) We don't have
the chip. It won't work.
- Alice? Cory, do you copy?
(static crackling and hissing)
(radio trills)
- Susan?
- You will not believe
what I just saw.
- We all saw it. (chuckles)
Susan, are you with Mark?
(somber music)
- No. He, he got
infected by something.
But before letting me go,
he gave me a small device.
It looked like a chip card.
- (gasps) Susan, you just
saved the world.
(suspenseful music)
Susan, if we can hear you,
you should be in the
10-mile range.
Coming from the
transmission site, you-
- I have a GPS. I'll
send you the coordinates.
- You are a genius.
(dramatic music)
Wait, Susan, don't
move from there.
(gentle suspenseful music)
Dr. Stewart, maybe we
have a spot.
If the entity isn't
changing its course,
then it's gonna cross
Globes's path.
- [Dr. Stew] So?
- (scoffs) Stewart, it's
gonna be sitting
on the biggest plate of
copper in North America.
- [Dr. Stew] You have
your transfer platform!
- Yes!
- [Dr. Stew] We need
coordinates.
We need to calculate
the right triangulation.
- Okay. Cory, go get the
cases, put 'em on the Jeep.
(suspenseful music)
(singer humming)
(dramatic music)
(air whooshing)
(screen beeping)
- [Computer] Gravity
pressure activated.
(chair creaking)
- We can start the calibration.
(screen whirring and trilling)
(screen trilling)
(screen beeps)
June, we need to correct
the orbit by five degrees.
- Professor, this is
not a starship.
We're trying to tow the
Titanic with a raft.
- It's our only chance, June.
We need to do it and
do it right.
- We're using every drop of
fuel from the emergency shuttle.
Do you understand that?
We won't be able to go
back on Earth.
- June, there won't be
an Earth if we fail.
- Got it, Professor.
You couldn't be more clear.
- We need a 10-second
blast on 2.25 clicks.
- Executing in five,
four, three, two, one.
(engines roaring)
(gentle dramatic music)
(engines continue roaring)
(gentle dramatic
music continues)
- Go! Go!
(engines continue roaring)
(gentle dramatic
music continues)
(screen whirring)
(screen beeps)
(gentle dramatic music)
- Confirm, our orbit's
changed to 2.25.
- We're on the right path now.
(gentle dramatic music)
(soft suspenseful music)
(car engine rumbling)
- Oh my God.
Okay, keep going.
We're gonna make a
right up here.
(car engine rumbling)
Turn right.
Watch out!
(dramatic music)
(dramatic music continues)
Stop. Stop!
(car brakes squeak)
Good.
Here, take this.
I'm gonna come help you.
(dramatic music)
Okay, take this.
Hey, this is gonna work.
We just connect the monitor
with the transmitter.
Like this.
Snap. Go get the activator.
Okay, so to activate
the transport,
we basically need to align all
three corners of a triangle.
Now we need to hit the
trigger at the same time.
PAX is gonna send
you a countdown
and you need to be very focused,
okay?
What we need to do is turn on,
release, hold and then push.
Okay?
- Right.
- Okay. This is gonna work.
It's gonna work. Gonna work.
Cory, you sure you can do this?
- Release, hold and push.
Can't be that hard, right?
(gentle suspenseful music)
(car door thuds)
(eerie suspenseful music)
(radio trills)
(dramatic music)
(Alice exhales sharply)
(car engine rumbling)
(dramatic rock music)
(door thuds)
(hand tapping)
(dramatic music)
Dust in the door
We're asleep on the floor
'Cause the show doesn't
start til 10
Up all night 'cause
the company's right
And we let the bunny
sleep in here
Living the dream in
a stretch limousine
But the driver
doesn't respect
They don't know our name
But that's so gonna change
We just, just didn't
get there yet
We will be heroes
Heroes
(dramatic rock music)
- [Alice] Susan? Do you copy?
- Copy.
- Okay, don't move
from where you are and
lose the horse.
We don't want it to interfere
with the transmitter.
- Copy.
(dramatic rock music)
Taking the knocks like
the love on the rocks
And I keep coming
back for more
Can never go back
I'm a live heart attack
There's only one way
my life can go
A hero can flag me
I've got the scars
Sit me down on an
electric chair
My kids will be strong
As the journey is long
But I promise you we're
almost there
We will be heroes
- All energy converged on the
cannons in three, two, one!
(metal creaking)
(engines whirring)
- We're falling apart!
- Any trajectory change?
- Zero two.
- Still acceptable.
We're still there!
(metal creaking)
(engines whirring)
(dramatic rock music)
(car engine rumbling)
(car tires crunching)
- Susan!
(dramatic rock music)
So happy to see you. (chuckles)
Oh, gosh.
You drive.
(dramatic rock music)
(dramatic rock music continues)
(wind whooshing)
- Is ground control ready?
- Ground control's gone.
Nobody's left.
- Who's managing?
- Cory!
- What?
(gentle dramatic music)
(screen trilling)
(gentle dramatic music)
(dramatic rock music)
We will be heroes
Heroes
(dramatic rock music continues)
(dramatic rock music continues)
(machinery whirring)
(dramatic rock music continues)
We will be heroes
Heroes
Heroes
- Now!
(dramatic rock music continues)
(machinery whirring)
(rock groaning)
(light whizzing)
(rocks clattering)
(dramatic rock music continues)
We will be heroes
- That's it!
(machinery whirring)
(light buzzing)
(dramatic music)
(light trilling and buzzing)
(dramatic music)
(rock groaning)
Heroes
(dramatic rock music)
- Come on, come on.
I ask for just this
one last thing.
Please.
- Do it!
(alarm blaring)
(dramatic rock music)
(light whooshing)
Heroes
(light whooshing)
(dramatic rock music continues)
Heroes
(dramatic music)
(screen trilling)
(slow dramatic music)
(machinery whirring)
- [June] Did it work?
- Of course it worked.
(gentle dramatic music)
(June gasps)
(car engine rumbling)
(gentle dramatic music)
- This is, uh, this is
where I left him.
This is where we were.
Cory, do you copy?
(gentle dramatic music)
(Alice laughing)
Cory.
(gentle dramatic music)
- [Dad] You're special.
There's no one else like
you in the whole universe.
Remember that, okay?
The Thunderbird's forever.
(gentle dramatic music)
(upbeat rock music)
I'm standing up on
a mountain
Looking through the smoke
Been climbing up and
down the gutter
I was hungry and broke
They're screaming
louder than the thunder
And they pray to the sky
Like nothing's
gonna stop them
As they fly on by
(upbeat rock music continues)
Everyone's in shock
Standing on top
On top of the world
Everybody rocks
Standing on top
On top of the world
It's a spin and grind
To get enough for the week
And meet the people
That can only do the
stuff that screams
Now take to the circus
their rhythm and blues
Everyone's in shock
Everyone's in shock
Standing on top
Standing on top
Everybody rocks
Hey, hey, hey
Everyone's in shock
Standing on top
On top of the world
Everybody rocks
Standing on top
On top of the world
(dramatic rock music)
(singer laughing)
Yeah
Who's ready now
Listen, got this
I got your math lesson
Right here
(dramatic rock music)
Everyone's in shock
They tell me not to rock
(dramatic rock music continues)
(dramatic rock music continues)
Everyone's in shock
Standing on top
On top of the world
Everybody rocks
Standing on top
On top of the world
Everyone's in shock
Everyone
Standing on top
Standing on
Everybody rocks
Everybody
Standing on top
Standing on top of the world
(dramatic rock music continues)
(dramatic rock music continues)
(rousing inspirational music)
(dramatic inspirational music)
(dramatic music)
(logo whizzing)
