Betray: Thirst (2025) Movie Script

Leave.
Get out.
I ain't gonna stop you.
I can use some peace, for once, around here.
I'ma slap the shit outta you if you don't
get the fuck outta my face. - You done lost
your damn mind.
Do it and see what happens.
I'm gonna do it
if you don't. - Well do it then.
Ebony. - I real sick of his shit.
Ebony, Ebony.
Erasing text messages,
calling me crazy, I'm not crazy.
Ebony, come. - You think I didn't see you
texting that bitch. - Come on, girl.
I'm not crazy.
Come on, come on.
I'm sick of his shit.
I know, come on. - Texting other bitches.
Come on.
What do you want me to do?
Don't even start, bro.
Bro, don't you get tired of this?
Tired of what?
This.
Of just drinking and,
and back and forth.
Look man, I've been minding my business.
She been nagging me all day, bro.
What y'all doing over here anyway?
She text Shavonne.
Damn.
She know y'all was going out tonight.
My bad fool.
It is what it is.
You know what, bro?
Hey, the night's still young.
Y'all don't get y'all little girl 'til tomorrow, right.
Tell Shavonne stop running over here,
wasting her common sense on that damn girl.
Hey like, Ebony gonna be Ebony.
I'm gonna stay right on the couch,
she's just gonna stay in the back.
We gonna be good bro.
We straight.
We good.
She'll be all right man.
The hormones and shit.
Yeah.
I mean, after a while it just got to the point
where I say split up.
Shoot, it's obviously that you
two are two different people,
so just admit that to yourself and to each other
and just move on.
Shoot, I've got my own marriage.
I'm tired of being a mediator in theirs.
Well, I guess, we did hook 'em up
so I guess some of this is our fault.
No, that's because of your crazy ass friend.
Oh, oh my crazy ass friend, not yours?
So none of this is her fault?
Man look, enough about them, let's worry about us.
And then, the restaurant messing up our reservation.
And then the stuff with Darren and Ebony.
I know. - This day
has not been my day.
I know baby.
Now tell me what I can do to make it better.
Mm, well a glass of wine would be a good start.
Okay.
And
if I get you that glass of wine,
you gonna make it worth my while?
Then I'll be right back.
You could have told me you drank all the wine.
Huh?
Oh baby, I'm sorry, I forgot.
I had a glass last night.
But I'm saying baby,
I mean how important is the wine?
Depending on what kind of night you wanna have?
Okay, I'll be back.
All right, be careful.
Shavonne.
Shavonne.
This is the fee for me to go ahead
and get started on your case.
I'll file the necessary paperwork
and pursue the compensation or settlement
that we both feel adequate.
Now if this goes to trial,
the fees do increase just a bit.
Okay. - Okay.
But you never have to
worry about feeling blindsided.
It's all outlined right here.
You have any questions for me?
Some of the other law firm officers
don't ask for a fee unless they win the case.
True, but they won't take every case either.
We fight for you regardless.
Win or lose.
Now our fees are upfront,
but if we win your case, we don't take a percentage.
These are the only costs
that you'll ever have to worry about from us.
Thank you, that was helpful.
You're welcome.
And you know, if you decide that we're the ones for you,
just give us a call back and we'll get right on it.
I'm gonna speak with my family first.
You should expect a call from us.
That's what I like to hear.
You have a safe and blessed day.
You too.
Thank you.
You got anything else?
Yeah, I got a,
a 1:30.
You ain't doing shit.
Lunch?
Yeah.
Yours or mine?
We'll figure it out.
Probably yours though.
And so what happened after we left?
Shit, we fucked.
Whatever man.
Bro, for real.
Bro, anytime Eb talk to Shavonne,
she realize how crazy she is.
Man, y'all left, I hopped up in the shower,
opened the curtains up straight into some head.
I ain't had no time to draw.
What's up bro, you good man?
At least you got some.
I got slept on.
You lying.
Mm-mm.
She felt bad and gave me something this morning.
It was terrible bro.
Well, she just laid there.
Mm.
Had a better time just beating my dick,
to be honest with you.
Yeah, old lefty ain't never let me down.
My bad bro.
Sorry to hear that.
It is what it is.
And I done got used to it.
Man, it's like we done got our 40s
and sex is an afterthought.
Man, you better enjoy while you can.
Man, whatever.
Look, you and Vonne, y'all got years invested bro,
with a family.
But if Eb try some shit like that, that's a wrap.
There's way too much ass out here bro, way too much.
Hey, how you doing?
Man, I don't even know why you got married.
Ain't nothing wrong with looking.
We can look, we got two eyes.
Nothing wrong with looking, right.
Hey babe.
Hey, you hung early.
No, I'm on my way to court.
Just left some paperwork behind.
Okay.
Don't take too long bro.
Hey Vonne.
Don't hey Vonne me.
What'd that do?
Okay, so who is this chick
texting your phone the other night?
You know what?
On that note.
Hey Jamal, I'll be in the car, brother.
See, see.
Hey, you're picking up Amaya or you need me to?
No baby, I can get her.
Okay.
Hey, you think maybe we can
make up for this weekend tonight?
What do you mean, makeup?
You already had some.
Why are you so horny?
It was so rushed.
Hooey.
Stop doing all that.
We'll see.
Okay.
I love you.
I love you.
Boy, if you don't get up outta here.
Mr. Tiller, I'm reading your motion
and I don't see anything here
that we don't already know
that would justify this case being dismissed.
Why is it that you feel that this is a reason
for this case not to go to trial?
Well, Your Honor,
there was a citation from the
responding officer on scene,
issued to the plaintiff for two violations
that I feel are key to this case.
Number one, the plaintiff does not have insurance,
which as we all know is illegal in this state.
And number two, the plaintiff
was driving without her corrective lenses,
as listed the restrictions on her license,
knowingly putting everyone else on the road,
that day, in danger.
I also have documents attached
that show multiple accidents
that have taken place at
this particular intersection
due to the inconsistency to the signal change.
Now my client, as listed in the report,
mentioned directly to the responding officer
that this light switched from yellow to red
faster than any light that he's ever seen.
And I have included
testimonials from multiple people
who have been in similar accidents
at this very intersection,
mentioned something similar.
So, Your Honor, respectfully,
I feel with all of the evidence
that has been provided,
there's no reason for this case
to move forward to a jury trial
and instead should be dismissed,
so as not to waste this court's time any further.
Thank you.
Mr. Wiggins.
Your Honor, while it is true
that my client was issued a
citation for having no insurance
and was not wearing her corrective lenses,
something that she noticed rather quickly
and was on her way back home to get,
when the accident occurred.
Let me offer you an illustration.
Now I'm stopped at a red light.
Now I can arguably see well enough to drive
because I stopped at it.
The light turns green, which means go,
proceed in your lane of traffic.
So you go as you're supposed to
and you are T-boned by an 18 wheeler
completely destroying your vehicle
and earning you a two week stay in the hospital.
Now, was my accident caused
because I had no insurance?
Was my accident caused
because I proceeded into the intersection
when allowed by the traffic signal?
No.
My accident was caused by the truck driver
who tried to beat the light
instead of applying the brakes
when the light turned yellow.
Now Mr. Tiller here wants you to dismiss this case
because he's afraid of a jury trial.
Now, whether my client had no insurance
or any other violation that you can think of,
the sheer fact remains that
my client had the right of way
because she proceeded into the intersection
when the light turned green,
and his client proceeded into the intersection
when the light turned red.
I like my odds, Your Honor.
After hearing both arguments,
I see no reason to dismiss this case.
And it's my decision that we will proceed
with the jury trial as scheduled.
Your Honor, if I may.
Go ahead Mr. Tiller.
I'd like to ask the court for a short recess
so I can speak with Mr. Wiggins
about coming to an agreement in the case.
Thoughts Mr. Wiggins?
That's totally fine, Your Honor.
All right.
Court is in recess until 2:30.
So what happens now?
Nothing from your end.
I'm gonna file the settlement
and you should be getting a check here
in the next few weeks.
Trial's canceled.
You don't have to worry about that anymore.
Thank you so much.
I can't thank you enough.
You are welcome.
I'm glad I could help.
Now you enjoy the rest of your day and I'll be in touch.
Thank you.
Yeah, you're welcome.
Man, you did your thing back there.
Man, that was easy work.
Man, I'm heading back to the office.
Got anything else?
No sir, my day is clear.
You take me back to the car.
I am finna go clap some cheeks.
Of course.
Hey.
Hi.
How are you?
I'm fine.
She has been here for about 45 minutes.
She had a consult with Darren on the schedule,
but he is not answering the phone.
This man been with me all day, like his day was clear.
Consult.
Consult, consult, consult.
She hasn't met with 'em already.
Correct.
Okay, gimme five minutes, I'll take care of it.
I'll let her know.
All right, please have a seat.
Hey look, I apologize about your wait.
The lawyer that you were scheduled to meet with
is dealing with the court case,
it's taking a little longer than expected.
It's fine.
Right, so you are here
about a case involving your husband?
Yes.
Okay, can you tell me a little bit more?
Oh, well he's been a firefighter since he was 21.
That's all he's ever known.
One day he was working this bad fire
and part of the ceiling, it came down
and hit him on his head.
He started having seizures,
something he's never had before.
Some time went by and the seizure stopped.
We thought that he was better.
So one day he was driving and had a seizure
and it ran him off the road.
That paralyzed him from the waist down.
He has some feeling in his right side.
It comes and goes.
And the city refuses to help in any way.
They're saying that there's no way to prove
that the seizures were caused by the accident.
Yeah.
Okay, and what did the doctor say,
since he's never had a, a history of seizures
prior to this incident?
He's seen neurologists and
they've done all these tests,
but they can't explain it either.
But he hasn't had one seizure
since before this happened.
Nothing about him is the same.
He used to love that firehouse.
I used to joke with him
that he loved fighting fires more than he loved me.
Now that's been taken away from him, he's,
I'm tired of him,
I'm overwhelmed and I don't know if you can help me
or if this is something that can be fixed at all,
but I don't know what else to do.
Look, I've been doing this long enough to know
how stressful it can be.
What's your husband's name?
Xavier.
Okay.
I hate making promises,
but I think I can help you.
Now if what you're saying is true
and he's never had a history of seizures
prior to this incident,
then I'm positive that my office can help.
Okay.
Now I would like to meet Xavier
and speak with you both if possible.
Oh, well I've been granted conservatorship
over all he's affairs.
I can go get your papers.
No, no, no, no, no, no, I believe you.
I just, I'm a little old school.
Now I would like to meet him
and speak with you both if that's okay.
I can come to you.
Okay, that's fine.
Okay.
Come in.
Ah, young one.
Yeah.
What's going on, unc?
Oh man, man, it's all good.
Come on in here.
Got it smelling good in here, man.
What you in here whipping up?
Oh man, I had to taste
for a good old juicy hamburger this morning.
Yeah, okay, I hear you.
Yeah all right.
Hey man, I went by and I put some flowers
on auntie's headstone and saw the roses.
Yeah, I got up bright and early this morning,
you know, went down there and you know,
I had to take care of my girl.
Yeah, yeah, I already knew.
Hey look unc, I know I've been busy a lot lately,
but I know I had to come by here today
if I didn't at any other time.
Oh hell man, don't worry about it.
You come by here more than my own children do.
Appreciate you nephew.
Yeah, you know, yeah at first it was,
it was hard, you know, especially on this day.
But I'm good.
Promise you that.
So, so how a girl doing?
Man, probably wondering where I'm at.
She's at the house cooking.
Mm, cherish that nephew.
Don't take that for granted.
Yeah man, I, every night I sit on the foot of that bed
and realizing that I'm all by myself now.
You know, it's hard to believe that my baby's gone.
I don't wish that on nobody.
Goodnight baby.
Goodnight
Ah, ah, ah.
I got the dishes.
What?
I got the dishes.
All right.
I ain't gonna argue with you.
Thank you for my flowers.
You're welcome.
Go to sleep, Jamal.
I love you too.
Hey, good morning.
Good morning, um.
Look, I just wanna forewarn you,
this has been really hard on the both of us
and please don't take anything
he does or says to heart,
okay, he really is a good person.
I totally understand.
Whatever it is, I can handle it.
I'm a big boy.
Okay.
Mr. Campbell, I'm Jamal Wiggins,
an attorney from Tate & Wiggins law firm.
It's a pleasure to meet you.
Mr. Campbell, do you mind if we speak for a moment?
Why you in my house, man, what you doing here?
Well, I'm here to see how my office can assist you
and get you the justice that you deserve.
Deserve?
I deserve my life back, man.
Think you can gimme that?
Think you can help me with that shit?
You up in here talking about justice.
Picture you in this goddamn chair.
Pissing and shitting in a diaper.
Can't feed yourself, gotta get fed like a fucking baby.
You can't reach for shit, can't move shit, can't grab shit,
gotta get your wife to do shit for you.
You know what that shit is like,
24 hours a day, seven days a week, all day, every day.
Exactly.
Look, just get the outta here man.
Xavier, at least let him explain.
Look bitch, you can get out with him.
Why you bringing people to the house, that I don't know?
I'm tired of your ass.
Mr. Campbell, I apologize to disturbing you today, Sir.
And you're right,
I can't begin to understand how it is that you feel.
You're angry, understandably so.
The city turned its back on you and your family,
just threw you to the side like a piece of trash.
I'm willing to fight on your
behalf with that same anger.
They owe you simple and plain, that's what you deserve.
Hey,
I'm sorry.
No need.
He's been through a lot, his anger is understandable.
But are you okay?
I'm pretty sure you get a lot more
than just that sample size that I just saw.
Oh yeah, I'm used to it.
As sad as that sounds.
Okay.
Well just make sure you take the time
to take care of yourself too, okay.
Here,
here take my business card.
Come by the office sometime this week
and we'll get started on the paperwork.
You know, even if I'm not there, Gloria,
who you met last time, she can assist you.
And my personal cell number is on there too,
in case you have any questions for me.
Thank you.
You're welcome.
You have a good day.
You too.
Hello.
Hey. - Hey baby.
Hey look, I know you're off until next week,
but I didn't want you to be blindsided
when you got back to work.
Wait, what's up?
It is a very high likelihood
that I'm about to file suit against your employer.
Wait, okay.
Are you familiar with a
firefighter, Xavier Campbell?
Xavier Campbell?
No, mm-mm.
Well he was severed after an accident,
stemming from something
that happened while on duty.
Oh.
Now a case like this is
worth about six figure damages.
And I know you already had one run in with the mayor,
so I just wanted to forewarn you.
Okay, how long ago was this?
The accident?
Mm-hmm.
I don't know, three years ago.
Okay.
Well they moved me out of
personnel over three years ago.
So there's no conflict on my end.
And we have a retaliation policy,
so if they try to do something,
you'll be getting some more money, you bet that.
Yeah, I hear you.
Hey, what you doing?
Just finished cleaning the kitchen.
How soon will you be home?
I don't know, man.
Man, Darren's back on that bullshit.
This case was supposed to be his.
Plus I got a lot of paperwork I gotta catch up on
before court on Thursday.
Okay, well as soon as you
put your foot down with Darren,
he'll learn.
Until then, you're always
gonna be picking up his slack.
I hear you.
All right.
Just let me know one way or another.
All right baby.
All right.
Yeah, I love you.
I love you too.
All right. - Bye.
Hey baby, baby, baby.
Yeah.
What you got on right now?
Boy get off my phone.
Bye baby. - Bye.
Crazy.
Okay.
Hurry up, call somebody please.
You fucking bitch.
Why don't you listen to me? - Mark, hey, it's Jada.
Listen, I need you come to the husband and help me.
Xavier's on the floor and I can't lift him up.
He doesn't want me to call an
ambulance, Mark, he wants you.
You motherfucking bitch.
That's easy for you to say, Mark.
You not living with him.
Okay, you know fine.
I'll find somebody else to help, okay, thanks.
I think you broke something, bitch.
I'm sick of this shit.
Why the fuck can't you just do what I say?
I told you to call Mark.
Fuck it, call an ambulance, call anybody.
I don't care no more.
Hello.
Hey.
He fell on the floor and I couldn't get him up
and he wouldn't let me call the ambulance.
Okay, okay.
He doesn't trust me,
I just need you to help me get him off the floor.
Okay, okay, all right.
Now calm down, breathe, breathe.
Now where is he?
Hey man, you okay?
Fuck you doing here?
Hey, come on man, let's get you off this floor.
Jada, what you doing here?
Hey, come on, I got you man.
Come on man. - I don't need your help, man.
Hey look man,
look, I'm just trying to help you out, man okay.
Just go home, man. - Look, look, come on,
let's get you off the floor.
You fucking with my wife nigga?
What?
Hey, look man, look calm down.
Look, I'm just trying to help you out, okay.
Yeah fuck you.
I'm fucking trying to help your ass out,
calm the fuck down.
Look man, I just wanna get you off the floor, okay.
I'm just here to help you.
Now come on.
Come on, I got you, I got you.
Hey Jamal, thank you again.
No problem, honestly.
Are you okay?
Mm-hmm.
Hey, it's gonna be all right, okay.
We'll work this out.
I'm sorry.
Hey it's,
it's okay.
You all right.
It's all right.
We gonna work all this out, okay.
Hey, I'ma get going, okay.
Okay.
That's cute.
Hey.
Hey baby.
Long day?
Yeah, long, rough day.
Glad you made it home.
Yeah, I'm glad to see you.
Oh Lord.
Babe, babe, wait, look, look,
before you start we both gotta get up early.
Look, we'll have plenty of time this weekend, okay.
Okay.
Go get undressed and get in the bed.
So you two met in college?
Yes ma'am, UVM.
You know, when we first met each other,
we really didn't like each other,
but once we got to know each other
and I changed my major a couple times,
we was inseparable.
Right.
And we met our wives at UVM too.
Yeah.
And they were roommates, ironically.
Oh wow.
Well that's where I met my wife.
We didn't start dating till well after college.
So Mr. Wiggins here, he tied the knot well before I did.
So tell me what's becoming partners
and owning your own law firm
and marrying college roommates,
always a part of the plan.
No ma'am.
No.
No, we just simply took a leap of faith
when no one would give us a chance.
So many people doubted us and expected us to fail.
But one thing that we now know for sure
is that naysayers stand no
chance when you have God's favor.
That's a hundred.
Oh yeah, we gonna give you, here listen,
I'm in go time baby.
Lemme call you back.
Oh yeah, it's gonna be good, it's gonna be good.
Hey bro, this is a major moment,
we just did an interview with Hub City Journal.
You know the increase is about to be crazy.
Yeah, facts.
But it's not gonna matter if
you don't stop your bullshit.
What's, what's up?
You've left two clients hanging in the last two days.
Now we worked way too hard for this
and I'll be damned if I let
your antics ruin our reputation.
Get your shit together, man.
I'm heading back to the office.
Yeah, all right.
Mrs. Campbell.
Hi, I'm sorry to pop in like this,
but can I talk to you for a moment?
Yeah.
Hey Gloria, you should have
gotten an email from Tina Dyer.
Mm-hmm.
Download the files in that link for me.
I'll be out in a few minutes.
Yes, Sir.
Come on back.
Okay.
Mm-hmm.
Was something wrong?
I don't think that you representing us
is gonna be a good idea.
Xavier has this fantasy made up in his head
that something's going on between me and you
and just for the sake of peace, for my peace,
I just need somebody else.
I completely understand.
Look, if you like, I can just have my partner
take the reins or I can just
refer you to another law firm.
Thank you, for everything.
Certainly.
Please.
Good afternoon Gloria.
I almost forgot you work here.
You too, huh?
I'm just saying.
Jamal back yet?
He's in his office with a client.
Well, let's see.
Hey how you doing?
Hi.
You all right?
Yeah, yeah man.
Hey look, I need you to take a case off of me.
The one that just left?
Yeah.
She was originally one of yours
that you didn't show up for.
The husband, he's got some kind of issue with me
and I'd rather keep it in house than refer it out.
I got you.
Forward me to file man, and I'll take care of it.
Okay.
You know, since we calling each other out today,
you need to spray in it little thick,
thick, musty.
And you had the nerve to close the door with a client,
when your office smell like
the back of somebody's knee caps.
You dirty.
Hi, can I help you?
Yeah, I'm looking for Jada Campbell.
Yeah.
Hey, I'm Darren Tate with Tate & Wiggins.
Oh, okay.
Good to meet you.
I'm here to get some paperwork signed.
Okay, yeah, yeah.
My partner said it'd be easier if I just stop by,
is that okay.
Yeah, come in.
Great.
So this right here says that you are the conservator
and you authorize the firm and all its employees
to act on your behalf,
with matters as sufficient to the filing.
You can send it right there.
And,
oh, do I sign here too?
Excuse me?
Yeah.
Do I sign here too?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, sign an initial there.
What the fuck is wrong with this nigga?
Excuse me?
I said, the print should be bigger.
This, the font size.
I mumble to myself sometime, mental notes.
Let me see what you got.
Okay.
That's everything we need right there.
Okay.
You got any questions for me?
No.
Did you wanna talk to him?
No.
Okay. - No ma'am.
No, I really don't feel the need to,
you're the conservator.
Okay.
I don't see a need to bother him.
I think, I think he's been through enough.
We should let him rest.
Okay.
All right, yep.
I'll let myself out.
You good?
Yeah.
Give us a call if you need anything.
Oh.
Bro, you could have warned me about a dude too.
What, he talk crazy to you?
Hell no.
He sitting there with a mean
mug on, 30 minutes straight.
Staring a hole all up in my eyes.
Yeah, well he talk real greasy to me,
so I guess that's a plus.
You mean he didn't give you no pushback at all?
Man no, I ain't give him a chance to.
I ain't say shit to that nigga.
You ain't say nothing to him?
Bro, bro, why would I?
Bro, wifey got all the power
granted by the same judge
that's probably gonna oversee the case.
Look, I work smarter not harder bro.
Look, you can do all that sentimental shit yourself.
But look, I'm gonna go straight to the point.
Are we doing is or not?
If so, sign right here baby girl, initial here.
Look, I just, I just, I just got other I could be doing.
Well what about Jada?
Like how was she?
She was cool, she was cool.
Finally something, I ain't gonna hold you.
Bro, can you imagine like if
our wife got paralyzed, right,
I mean what I guess with
us dudes is a little different
because you know if our wife get paralyzed
we get a little lube and still get the job done.
You know what I'm saying?
I mean she might not be getting nothing out of it,
but I'm just saying there's a lot of women out there
that ain't got wrong with them
and they nigga ain't making them feel shit.
You know what I'm saying?
Bro, I have Eb up in that gym like a little puppet.
You know what I'm saying?
You getting it.
There's something wrong with you bro.
I'm just saying ain't no way,
there ain't ain't no way
that she putting up with all that for three years
and ain't getting no dick bro.
I'm telling you.
Three years, three long years, or three short years.
I don't know what the working with.
Man, everybody ain't like you man.
Bro, we all human though, you know what I'm saying?
We all got needs.
You can be the greatest person in the world bro,
but it's only so long you can go without.
You gonna have to eventually,
you know, quench that thirst my brother.
See that's why I thank the Lord
'cause he gave me a freak at home.
'Cause Lord know I'm weak.
Matter of fact,
I'm gonna text her right now.
When I get home, get ready to fetch this bone.
Hey come on man.
Come on man, in my office?
See that's your problem.
That's what you should be doing in your office.
Unbelievable.
What's wrong with you?
Girl, nothing.
Darren dumb ass.
I mean you think Jamal would
rub off on him and he grow up.
Darren been the same man since college.
And that's why you love him.
How about DJae's, people just responded.
Seriously?
Girl. - The party is next week.
Mm.
So what you gonna do?
You already signed the contract for tea.
Now you know how much that man like DJae,
this gonna make his whole night.
I'm about to be so over budget.
But if Darren knew I had a chance to book DJae
and didn't do it, listen.
Well, lucky for me, Jamal, he's not into all that.
Low maintenance.
So you don't do nothing for that man birthday?
I mean, you know,
he don't require much.
I mean, Darren's pretty low maintenance too.
But he gonna be excited as hell come next weekend.
Hell, he better be.
Damn near clearing out my savings.
Can we get the check?
Girl.
Hey Mark.
Hey, what's going on?
Nothing much.
He's inside, asleep.
Okay, cool, cool.
How long do you think you can stay?
Probably for a little while.
They loading my truck up right now.
I gotta get back on the road in a bit.
Okay listen, I need to run a few errands
and here lately he's been falling so much more,
I can't stay gone as long as I used to.
So, and you know, of course anybody else
that tries to help, he runs off.
So, think you could stay here.
Okay.
But look, I can't be late for my next two stops, really.
You won't be, I promise.
I'll be gone 30 minutes, okay.
Thank you, Mark.
Yeah, all right.
Yo Xav, Xav.
What up?
Man, what you doing?
Gimme the papers over there.
All right.
Look like a bunch of junk mail, but all right.
Let me see that.
Shit, she must have put 'em somewhere else.
Put what somewhere else?
She leaving me.
Oh wait, what?
Where is she?
She just stepped outside to run some errands, man.
Errands.
Oh, she think, I don't know what's going on.
She think I'm stupid.
Yeah like no, can I please
just come over here for one day
without the drama please.
Did I ask you to come over here?
Here you go with this shit man.
Look, my wife is up to something man.
I know my wife and I know how she is.
I know she up to some bullshit.
Ever since I've been in this wheelchair,
everybody wanna throw me away
like some motherfucking trash.
My own mama won't even come to see me.
Hell, I barely see you.
You know why?
'Cause mama is tired of you disrespecting her.
And you know I'm on these truck routes all week.
So don't do that Xav.
All right, look, look, look, look, look, look.
Is there anything else you need while I'm here,
anything at all?
Yeah, that camera.
Remember that camera y'all bought?
What, what, what?
The one y'all bought to spy on me, man.
Man, look, she did that to keep an eye on you
whenever she left the house.
Ain't nobody spying on your dumb ass.
Look, can you just set it up please?
Xav, come on man, be for real.
You my brother or hers?
I'm telling you my wife on some bullshit
and you think I'm crazy.
You hitting that shit too?
Is you hitting that too?
Xav.
Okay, all right.
I got it, I'll do that all right.
Just do me that favor.
Yeah all right.
Fuck shit.
Hey, everything okay?
Yes, I gotta get going.
Oh, okay, how was he?
Same as usual.
All right, well be safe.
All right, you too now.
Thanks Mark.
All right.
Goodnight.
Goodnight.
I could get used to this.
I haven't been held like this in so long.
Are you happy?
What do you mean?
At home?
I, I hate to but I gotta go.
Did I say something wrong?
No, I just, I've been gone a while
and I need to get back home.
Jamal.
Look, I'm sorry if I did something wrong.
I'm not trying to complicate things.
I just, it's been so long since I had somebody to talk to.
Hey look, we just need to
just pump the brakes a little bit, okay.
This is a lot.
Yeah, okay.
I really gotta get home.
I'll talk to you later, okay.
Okay.
Where have you been?
I couldn't sleep so I went to the gym.
And what's up with your phone?
It's dead.
Look, I'm gonna take a shower.
I'ma wash some of this must off of me.
You ready man?
Yeah man, I was just getting everything together.
Well come on.
Glad you two could come.
Jamal.
Melissa, it's been a while.
It sure has.
Nice to meet you.
Take a seat.
So what are we doing here?
Nothing.
Well I heard a rumor you wanna file a suit
against the city?
Damn.
Yeah, I got birdies everywhere.
So, which one of you wanna tell me what's going on?
Well our client feels wrong by the city
and honestly we tend to agree.
You give us an offer, we won't make a fuss.
All right, well hold up.
City's got enough on its plate, okay.
I simply called this meeting
so we could kind of resolve
without a suit.
It can be resolved.
What's the offer?
How much investigation have
you conducted on your client?
Enough to know that we got a strong case.
Really?
Mm-hmm.
Well your client has an uncle,
he works for the street department.
And yesterday I paid him a visit,
just to check in on your clients, see how he is doing.
When I did that, his uncle informed me
that Mr. Campbell's shunned his entire family.
Didn't really have much to tell me,
but he did have some very valuable information.
Your client used to have seizures as a child.
Started when he was young,
stopped at puberty, cold turkey.
Nonetheless, there's history.
Matter of fact, the school
opened up an abuse investigation.
Your client showed up to school, busted up face,
about nine-years-old, terrible.
So the police did some digging
and the mother confirmed
that the client does have seizures from time to time.
And that right there is the detective supplement.
And that saved me a lot of leg work.
Look, I can probably get the
city to agree to a settlement.
No harm, no foul.
Shut it down before it even gets started.
But if you file that suit,
I'm gonna destroy you.
You're on a hell of a winning streak, right?
I would hate to humiliate you.
'Cause I have a good feeling if I dig deep enough,
I'm gonna find a lot more in my favor.
So, if you do decide to file suit, just gimme a call,
let me know, pay me that common courtesy.
Okay.
Thank you. - Mm-hmm.
Have a good day.
Jamal.
Melissa.
Jamal, Jamal.
Bro, you could have stepped
in and helped me out back there
at any time, bro.
And if it had been official I would have.
All right, she did us a favor.
She didn't have to tell us any of that.
Look, it don't matter if he hadn't had any seizures
since his teens.
Bro, who said the on-duty trauma
didn't help bring that back.
Hey, look, just, just get with Jada
and just encourage her to settle.
All right, just get this over with.
Bro, you and I both know
that she only called us down here
'cause the city don't want this to get out.
We're gonna turn up the heat,
they're gonna turn up the offer.
Ain't no way we get that
by taking the first crumbs that they throw our way.
You know that.
What's up with you, bro, you all right?
I'm fine, just.
Hey bro, it's your case now.
Whatever you want.
Mrs. Campbell.
Darren's not in today.
Is there something I can help you with?
Can I, can I talk to you for a moment please?
Sure.
Come on back.
Did I miss anything?
No, Sir.
All right.
What are you doing here?
Why are you ignoring me?
Okay, I've been calling and texting you for days.
Jada, you cannot do this,
okay, you can't just show up here like this.
Why are you ignoring me?
This has gone too far.
Look Jada, we can't do this anymore.
What?
Okay, did I do something wrong?
Jamal baby, just talk.
Stop.
Stop.
Look, Jada, what happened between us was a mistake.
A mistake that cannot,
will not happen again, okay.
I'm sorry.
Now I need you to leave.
And from this point forward,
do not come back here again,
unless you have set up an appointment with Darren,
your attorney.
Oh, I know that look.
Come on in nephew.
Ooh.
Look like you're going to need this more than I do.
There you are.
So, you and Shavonne ever talk about it?
Yeah, I brought it up a lot.
It's to the point, you can tell,
she's just doing it to shut me up.
She just lays there unc, like
a damn hooker or something,
just emotionless.
It's to the point that I'm turned off man.
I just, I'm having a hard time even keeping it up.
Am I making any sense?
Yeah.
What you going through is not new young buck.
You see women are complicated creatures.
You know, sometimes you just got to
romance your way in there.
I have unc.
Random flowers, dates,
gifts just because.
Man, I don't, I don't know what to do.
I feel you nephew.
See, men we easy.
All we want is just some peace.
I mean a homemade meal from time to time.
Some loving and we good.
Now we'll never say it out loud, but I'm going to.
We just wanna feel, wanted, yeah.
We just wanna be adored by our women, right.
Case in point.
Lemme ask you this.
Now when was the last time you were wined and dined
by Shavonne?
She took the lead on your anniversary.
Valentine's Day.
Hell, Father's Day.
So yeah, and all that expectation stuff, that's on us.
Happy wife, happy life, right.
I mean, it is what it is.
I mean, it's just all part of being a man I guess.
So, you know, after so long you just learn to suck it up
and expect it.
So yeah, nephew, I know exactly what you mean.
But,
be that as it may,
what you did was wrong.
And you going to have to decide if you wanna run
or you want to face it.
But I will say this,
as long as you keep kicking that can down the road,
eventually one way or another,
you gonna have to deal with it.
Baby, what's wrong?
Your little boyfriend broke your heart.
You think I don't know what's going on, do you?
You really thought I was fucking stupid, didn't you?
What kind of ignorant ass bitch you gotta be
to fuck another in this house
while your disabled husband
is in the other room?
You ever ask yourself, what if
a shoe was on the other foot,
what if it was you in this chair
and I had to take care of you?
Of course you never asked yourself that question.
A bitch like you would never asked that.
And now you let him fuck
and he dropped you like a fucking miscarriage.
Come on in here.
Hey.
Wait, really?
Y'all aren't ready yet?
We are ready.
We are ready.
So that couldn't wait, okay.
We was getting dressed.
I know what y'all was getting and it wasn't dressed.
Come on.
I get it.
Get in when you, you know, get it in when you can, I get it.
How we get it. - I get, I get it.
Since the gates are locked, y'all let's have party.
Yeah.
Get up and roll
Get up and roll
I can't stay all night
I can do about an hour
Yeah
'Cause I'm taking my lady out

She said she like my energy yeah
She wanna put time in

Long as you rocking me
Said

And she let me in
Baby jumped on top of me
Jumped down and dropped on her knees

Make a nigga fall in love baby
I gotta control myself
Lemme get my hands up
Gotta get and roll

What the fuck is you on?
What man?
Nigga.
Jamal.
I fucked up Darren, okay.
Okay, I fucked up.
Bro, man, it's been a lot going on and I just.
Bro, she caught me slipping.
Look, I ain't trying to hear none of that shit.
Bro, everybody, everybody is waiting for us to fail.
You are jeopardizing everything that we work for.
But it's me, it's me, I'm the one that's fucking up right.
Dumb ass nigga.
But G, that's my bad.
Look it just kind of caught me off guard all right.
That's my bad, G.
Yeah, yeah.
What happened?
Bro, you and Vonne is like
the pitch a perfect couple man.
I'm just, I'm just shocked.
All right, I understand that we dudes, I get that, but.
Bro, I love Shavonne man.
I swear to God I love her with everything in me.
You think I can't fucking tell nigga.
Bro, it's just like, I don't,
I can't explain it.
Well nigga, you need to try.
'Cause if our world is about
to burn to the fucking ground,
nigga, you owe me a fucking reason.
Bro, when me and Shavonne first got together,
it was amazing.
Man, it was sexy was spontaneous,
man we couldn't get enough of each other.
Man, we would pull over on the expressway
and get it in the car with traffic riding by,
just shaking the out the car.
It's like lately, man, she ain't even trying.
Nothing that I do is good enough.
It's never the good time, she's never in the mood.
I don't know what the fuck I'm supposed to do, man.
Listen to me bro, that shit
with Jada was not planned, okay.
I tried my best to resist that.
I tried my best, I swear to God I did.
But man,
bro, I'm sorry I even let that shit happen.
You talked to Vonne about that?
Bro, we done talked about it, we done fought about it.
Man, she gets fine for a day
and it's right back to where it was, two days later bro.
So what we going to do?
What do we need to do G?
I'ma talk to Jada.
I'm gonna talk to her.
'Cause she probably sent you that video
to get my attention.
Bro, this shit is a bomb.
And eventually it's gonna explode, bro.
You can't cater it to this broad.
She gonna always hold this over you.
Shit us.
And I'm not about to be black men by no waterhead bitch.
Maybe, maybe we can kill her,
burn the house down and get rid of the evidence, bro.
I seen it in the movie once.
Jamal, bruh, I'm joking.
Oh shit, nigga you tripping.
You thinking about doing this?
No, no, no, no, no man, I just, I'm just thinking.
You bugging.
Bro, it's me.
Talk to me G.
What's up?
I'm good.
I'm good boy.
I wanna whip your ass but nigga, bro, you my dog.
Dumb as hell, but we gonna figure this shit out though.
Now let's get back down to the party man.
They gonna be looking for us after a while.
Yeah man, I'll be down there in a second.
Fuck.
Now that was a party.
Take me to the night club
You okay?
You all right?
Yeah, okay baby.
Oh.
Come on.
Come here baby.
Come here.
Baby, baby stop.
Sit up.
Okay.
Okay.
I need to,
I need to tell you something.
What?
I,
I.
I messed up.
Messed up, how?
There was another woman.
A client.
And I,
I slept with her. - Oh God.
What?
I'm so sorry.
Oh my God.
Oh God.
15 years.
15 years.
15 years.
Oh God.
Oh God.
What's up bro?
Come outside.
I'm not at home.
What?
I'm not at home.
Where the fuck you at, nigga?
I got a room for a couple days, man.
Oh, oh a room.
Whatever.
Look the broad done went crazy, man.
Who?
Shit, the bitch you been long-dicking nigga.
Her cheese has slid all the way off the cracker.
Man, get you out here fool.
Man, what the hell are you talking about?
They found Xavier Campbell this morning, man,
head busted all the way open to the white meat thing.
He in surgery right now,
waiting on the next ride to the upper room.
Look, I just got off the phone
with some detectives, man,
looking for Jada.
What the hell they call you for?
Well, they found some court
paperwork inside the house,
but man, look, fuck all that.
Look, the question you need to be asking yourself man
is where the fuck is Jada.
Why the hell you think I know?
Okay, okay nigga, well first of all,
watch your tone.
I didn't tell you to put your dick
inside the crazy bitch, all right.
And secondly, this shit ain't good nigga.
She done snapped for real.
Hey.
Well hey to you too.
A little early, isn't it?
Mm-hmm.
You know, don't you?
Oh, I'm so sorry, girl.
Where is he?
I don't know.
I just need him to stay away from me.
Look, Darren just told me last night
and he made me promise not to say anything.
So, at least I can say I kept my promise
because I was sure about to break it.
I will get it.
No, no fuck.
Bro, she's at my house.
She's at my crib right now.
Meet me at the house.
I'm leaving now.
Um,
can I talk to you privately please?
No.
Okay.
I wanted to just come to you as a woman.
He took advantage of the both of us.
He?
What are he talking about?
Jamal.
Okay, I didn't know he was married.
If I did, none of this would've happened.
So you're the bitch.
So how long has this been going on?
A couple of weeks.
He took advantage of me.
Okay, I was in a very dark and vulnerable place.
And he played on that and he used me.
Okay, so what's your point, why did you come here?
Look, I don't know you, but I do know him
and he's a liar and he's a cheat
and he deserves to pay for what he did to us.
So how do you think we should make him pay?
You know what?
Nevermind.
I can handle my husband.
I got that.
But I don't need your help.
But I thank you for coming woman and woman all.
But I got it from here.
Don't come to my house again.
Now bitch leave before we assist you.
Sit down.
Sit.
Look, what do you want?
Shut up, okay, shut up just.
When Jamal gets here, this will all be over okay.
Come on, come on, come on.
Where the keys at?
Where?
I left my keys in the car.
Did you?
Oh no.
Bitch.
No.
Bitch.
Yeah.
Bitch.
Baby.
Hey baby, you all right?
I'm okay baby.
I ain't, I ain't never seen you like this before.
I'm so turned on right now.
Shut up, Darren.
I'm just, let's head to the back.
Sorry to keep you waiting.
I just took your wife's statement
and she's out in the lobby waiting on you, all right.
Can I get you anything?
Water, coffee, anything?
No, Sir.
Hey, fair enough.
So, Ms. Campbell has just been discharged from the ER
and is on her way to booking right now, as we speak.
She'll be charged with false imprisonment
and aggravated assault
for what happened to you guys tonight,
as well as the other charges for her husband, okay.
I mean, look, as I told the others,
just because I asked you to come down here today,
doesn't necessarily mean you are in trouble.
Just when something serious like this happens,
I kinda like to get everybody's
statement separately,
so there's no type of influence, you feel me?
Understood.
Okay, cool.
Jada Campbell,
how do you know her?
I represented her in a civil case
until my partner took over.
Okay.
I mean, was there some type of issue?
Why the change all of a sudden?
Because I,
because I slept with her.
I had an affair with my client.
What's taking these folks so long, man?
Man, will you calm down?
I'm the one going in there.
Bro, I ain't gonna never understand you.
They could be in there about to disbar you, bro.
How you so calm?
I'm not calm.
I'm at peace.
She's ready for you now,
Mr. Wiggins.
First, we appreciate your honesty in this matter.
The fact that you stepped
forward without being forced to
and notified the board of
this violation is admirable
and factored into our decision.
With that being said, as you know,
the board takes great value in ethics and integrity.
Our ruling is you're suspended for practicing law
in the state of Tennessee in any capacity
for a term of two years.
After such time, you will have to come back
before the board for a reinstatement hearing
to state this ruling or reinstate you.
Man, when I come back,
if they let me come back then I'll unpack this box.
But until then, I don't deserve
to have any of my stuff around here taking up space.
Hey, look man,
I'm sorry about all this.
Jamal, if you apologize to me one more time,
I'm gonna crack your shit.
All right.
Brother.
I'll see you around.
You take care of yourself.
I will.
Y'all acting like this man,
moving to Kansas or something.
Hey, keep him in line.
I'll try my best.
Tate & Wiggins baby.
Hmm, Tate & Wiggins.
Mm, it smells like I'm right on time.
Always on time to eat daddy.
I don't see the problem with that.
Hey baby.
Hey.
Hi.
All right, let's eat.
Amaya just went to sleep.
Oh.
Do you think that it will ever go back to normal?
I don't know, Jamal.
I don't know.
Oh.
