Dr. Seuss's the Sneetches (2025) Movie Script

1
Oi!
Ooh!
Oh, ow, ow!
Oh! Huh.
Hello there. Allow me to introduce myself.
I'm David O'Doodle Van Donkel McFuzz,
and my job is to tell it like it is,
or like it was.
I come from this island
surrounded by beaches,
and the folks who live there,
well, they're called the Sneetches.
Now, Star-Belly Sneetches
have bellies with stars,
while Moon-Belly Sneetches
have moons upon thars.
But the Moon and Star-Bellies
did not get along.
Each thought they were better
and the other was wrong.
Here, uh, you can see for yourself.
Oh no, not those Moon-Bellies again.
Aw, you Star-Bellies
think you're so special.
But everyone knows
that moons are better than stars.
Psh! We're better!
No, we're better!
They felt far too different
to share the same space.
So they went their own ways
and made their own place.
The Star-Belly Sneetches,
they went to the trees,
while Moon-Belly Sneetches,
they went to the seas.
Yes, that's how
the island of Sneetches arranged.
But this is a story of how it all changed.
Yahoozo!
Let's see.
No, no, no.
Ooh, that's good.
I know!
Woo-hoo-hoo, I love that!
To the drawing board.
Ah.
Ah.
-Aha!
-Oh, oh, oh!
Oh.
Hm? Ah.
Ooh, I've got it!
Oh, Bean, you're awake.
Uh-huh.
Check it out. I just had
the best idea for an invention!
-Oh.
-I gotta show Mom and Dad.
Huh?
There will be breakfast.
Oh! Ooh!
Yahoozo!
Oh! Oh.
-There's my Stella Bella.
-Morning, sweetie.
Come on, come on! You gotta see my idea!
Okay, are you ready?
-Ready.
-Are you really ready?
Yep, we are really ready.
But are you really, really?
Okay, okay. I just want you to know
this is the best idea I've ever had.
Drumroll, please.
-Prepare to be amazed by
-Oh!
kite wings.
Huh.
Two kites pop out of the backpack
like wings.
Then you can fly into the sky
and see the stars up close.
Woo-hoo!
Woo-hoo-hoo!
Oh-ho?
I-It's really so creative,
sweetie, but, uh
Don't you like it?
It's not that I don't like it.
It's just Star-Belly Sneetches don't fly.
Why would we need to do that?
Oh, I don't know.
Because it would be awesome!
Why don't you like anything different?
Oh, sweetie, we do.
We like that you're different.
We just don't want you
to be too different.
Well, we let you have a pet monkey.
That's pretty strange, right?
Oh!
Star-Belly Sneetches rely on tradition.
We do the same thing day after day
year after year.
That's part of what makes us great.
And boring.
Aw.
Aw, Stella Bella, aren't you gonna stay?
No.
I'm gonna go get some fresh air.
Okay, sweetie,
but don't be late to Star practice.
I won't.
I don't get it, Bean.
Why do Star-Belly Sneetches
always want everything to be the same?
There are so many new thoughts
just waiting to be thunk.
I love the feeling
When I jump out of bed
With a giddy little thought
Popping out of my head
And I've got to get it down
Before it flies away
It flies away
It flies away
Something no one's
Ever thought of before
Something every Star-Belly Sneetch
Would adore
Something that could make this world
A brighter place
-A brighter place
-I know it might be a little peculiar
-I know it might look strange
-Ah!
But if you really want
To be an inventor, Bean
You can't be afraid of change
I'm not scared
To think big and bold and new
Something different can be
Something wonderful too
I'm not scared
To go and flip my point of view
Something different can be
Something wonderful too
Whoa, oh, oh
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Something different can be
Something wonderful too
I can't stop flowing
My brain keeps going
The piles of sketches
Are growing and growing
This one's a Herkamazerk
Different, sure
But that thing could really work
Ah!
Exactly, it's like nothing before
It might be a little bit kooky
But, Bean, that makes me like it more
I'm not scared
To think big and bold and new
Something different can be
Something wonderful too
Whoa, oh, oh
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
I'm on a mission to create
Sure, tradition can be great
But sometimes something different
Can be wonderful too
Huh?
Huh?
What? Bean, you're still hungry?
Uh-huh.
Oh, ho!
Oh.
Here, let me help.
Huh?
-Oh my stars!
-Oh, ho?
It's a picture of a Moon-Belly Sneetch
in a floaty-float.
Ah!
Hm. It looks just like my kite wings.
Oh.
Oh no! We're late for practice!
Come on, Bean!
The Star-Belly Sneetches
were in quite a tizzy,
planning and prepping
and keeping quite busy.
See, the Star Celebration
was coming up soon,
and they were getting ready
on that afternoon.
Where is that girl?
Here I am!
You must not have seen me come in.
Oh, guess not. Hm.
Okay, my shining stars,
it's time to rehearse the Sneetch Speech.
This is the part where all the young kids
say that Star-Belly Sneetches
are better than Moon-Belly Sneetches.
Hm!
Um, I have a question.
Uh, yes, Stella?
Have you ever met a Moon-Belly Sneetch?
Met a Moon-Belly Sneetch?
Well, of course not!
Okay, well, if we've never met them,
then how do we know
that Star-Bellies are better?
Oh boy.
Now, Stella,
well, this is the speech
Star-Belly Sneetches
have given for generations.
Yeah, but why do we say that?
Is there a reason?
Of course there is.
The reason is that we have stars.
Uh-huh.
And they don't.
Uh-huh.
And so our stars make us better.
But that doesn't make a lot of sense.
Now, Stella, that's just the way it is.
Question time's over.
Let's practice our speech.
Aw.
Stella kept thinking
about the picture she saw
and couldn't get it out of her head.
She thought about
Moon-Belly Sneetches all day,
and later when she was in bed.
I'm not scared
I'm just interested in you
Who you are and what you do
Is what they teach us really true?
We're all Sneetches
What if we just start anew?
Couldn't something different be
Something wonderful too?
The very next morning,
Stella got her bag packed.
She couldn't keep thinking.
She needed to act.
While other Star-Bellies
were working away,
Stella decided she just couldn't stay.
So Stella and Bean walked toward the beach
to see if they could find
a Moon-Belly Sneetch.
Okay, Bean.
Tell me if you see any Moon-Bellies.
Huh? Bean?
Sylvester McMonkey McBean!
This is serious.
How can I say
I'm better than Moon-Belly Sneetches
if I've never even seen one?
Oh.
Hm. The water looks pretty empty.
Maybe it was silly to think I could
just come out here and find a
Moon-Belly Sneetch!
Right over there!
Oh my stars!
A real Moon-Belly Sneetch!
In a real floaty-float!
Ooh, I'm gonna go introduce myself.
I know the beach is forbidden,
but I'm just gonna go say hi,
and I'll come right back.
I don't know what'll happen, Bean,
but that's half the fun, right?
Uh-oh.
Phew.
Hello!
Just me and a crab working on my boat
-Excuse me!
-Yeah, yeah, we are gonna fix it
Hi there!
Just working away
Here is where I'll stay
I'll be working all day
Hi! I'm Stella Sneedly.
Oh, you surprised me.
I mean, it was a good surprise.
Not like, "Surprise! I'm I'm a ghost."
Anyhoo, I'm Pearl Puddlesnuff.
It is nice to
Oh, star.
Star?
Star!
Um, surprise!
How did you get here?
Did you go on the Forbidden Beach?
Well
Y-Y-You Uh, don't
Uh, don't you move!
Are you scared of me?
What?
Whoa!
No.
No way. Ha ha.
Okay, yes. I've heard terrible things
about Star-Belly Sneetches.
Really? Like what?
Well, I heard that Star-Bellies
have long claws and sharp fangs.
Hm. Nope. No claws. No fangs!
Okay, I can see I was wrong.
Still, you shouldn't be here.
Go back to the trees.
Please.
It's okay, Bean. We're just talking.
Dudley!
Bean!
Dudley, do not pinch the monkey!
I'm sorry.
Dudley can be a little protective.
I get it. Bean's always protecting me too.
Whoa! Bean! Stop it!
Okay, now we're both
on the Forbidden Beach.
This is bad. Very, very bad.
How about you just take your things and
Whoa.
Did you draw this?
Yeah. Nobody really understands my...
-Kite wings!
-Huh?
They're awesome!
Really? You think so?
Actually, definitely, yeah.
Hm.
Come with me.
Huh?
Hm. How in the world
did you think of this?
Oh, I'm kind of an inventor.
Ideas sort of pop into my head.
But that's all they are. Ideas.
I've never been able to make any.
Whoa, whoa, whoa!
Pearl! You forgot to mention
that you're a building genius!
What? That's silly.
You're silly.
You're just a strange, silly Sneetch
Sorry. I sing sometimes.
It's a little weird, right?
Nah, I like it.
Huh?
-Whoa!
-Huh?
Just one more turn, and
There! Watch this.
Oh my stars!
I can't believe
you actually built my kite wings!
Wings. No wings.
Wings. No wings. Wings!
Um, Stella, be careful with that.
Now, come on!
Let's take this baby for a test spin.
Yahoozo!
Whoa!
Uh-oh.
Whoa!
Stella?
That was
awesome!
Aw.
Hey, Pearl. I have a question.
Do you like to dance?
I dance every night before bed
You do?
I do
Me too
Do you like to think by
Standing upside down on my head?
You do?
I do
Me too
But can you juggle?
-I could go all night
-Whoa!
Do you love your buddy?
Bean and me? We're super tight.
I'm having so much fun
-Me too. I don't want this to be done
-Me too
I feel like
Something special's begun
-You do?
-I do
Me too
-You do?
-I do
Me too
-You do?
-I do
Oh, I know we're not supposed to
Yeah, I know that's what they say
But I've never felt this close
To a friend until today
I feel like I've been waiting
My whole life
To meet a Sneetch like you
You do?
I do. Do you?
I really do!
Me too
Me too
Me too
Hm?
Huh? Oh, I should probably get back.
Well, goodbye forever.
Oh, I was kind of wondering
if you want to meet back here tomorrow.
Actually, definitely, yeah.
It's just, are you sure
we won't get caught?
Nope. But that's half the fun, right?
Well, I don't know
if I'd call it fun, exactly.
And you're gone.
See you tomorrow!
Well, those two little Sneetches,
they met every day.
After Stella woke up,
she and Bean snuck away.
Stella knew that she shouldn't
set foot on the beach,
but she liked spending time
with this Moon-Belly Sneetch.
And the more that those Sneetches
started to share,
the more that those Sneetches
started to care
about staying apart,
which felt awfully unfair.
Hm?
-Ow!
-Aw.
Ooh.
I can't believe your house
is right over there
and I'm not even allowed to come see it.
My parents would drop an anchor
if I brought you home.
If you want to come to my house,
you've got to have a moon on your belly.
Hm.
I wish we could make a machine
that would put a moon on my belly.
Then I could see everything.
Oh, I better go.
But I'll see you tomorrow, right?
I will see you bright and earl...
And you're gone.
Hm.
Well, the sun came up. What do you know?
The Sneedlys were up and ready to go.
This was a day for Star-Bellied cheer
'cause the Star Celebration
was finally here.
Huh?
Aha! There she is, our shining star.
Dad, the celebration
hasn't even started yet.
Oh. Mm.
Mwah.
But, Stella, we need
to document every moment.
This is the most important day
of your life.
No pressure.
Hm.
Honey, are you ready
for your Sneetch Speech?
Yep, memorized every word.
But now that you mention it,
I was wondering,
why exactly do we think Star-Bellies
are better than Moon-Bellies?
Oh, not this again.
Why would you even ask
something like that?
On today of all days?
Okay, okay. It was just a question.
That's the problem, sweetie.
You don't need to question everything.
You just do what Star-Bellies
have always done, and you'll be fine.
Well, I gotta go.
Oh, we better get going too.
There's supposed to be heavy rain tonight,
so everybody think dry thoughts.
And don't be nervous about your speech,
Stella. We'll be cheering for you.
Make us proud, kiddo.
Aw.
Before the celebration,
which was later that day,
Stella went to meet Pearl
so they could go play.
Hiya, Pearl!
Whoa, whoa, whoa!
What is that?
Oh, this old thing?
Just a moon-on machine!
You built my sketch?
Actually, definitely, yeah.
You just walk through here
and the machine puts a moon on your belly.
Does it really work?
You gotta go through the machine
to find out.
And you're gone.
Oh, this is bad. Or maybe exciting.
Could be bad. But I'm excited!
I'm a Moon-Belly Sneetch?
I'm a Moon-Belly Sneetch!
I'm a Moon-Belly Sneetch!
Yahoozo!
It really works!
Amazing!
Oh yeah, we did it! Whoo!
Now, come on! Let's go!
You can show me everything.
-Your house, your family.
-Uh
Ooh, your toothbrush.
You wanna come see Moon-Belly Village?
Like now?
Yeah, the Star Celebration
isn't until tonight.
This is my chance
to come see how Moon-Bellies live.
Oh, I don't know.
I kinda just built the machine to see
if I could do it.
I I gotta think about it.
What is there to think about?
We're best friends.
It's not fair that we have to stay apart
just because of what some grumpy
old Sneetches decided a long time ago.
So, what do you say? Are we doing this?
Actually
Definitely, yeah!
We're doing this!
We are doing this!
Yahoozo!
The two girls set off.
They sailed in the breeze.
And Stella was amazed
by the sights on the seas.
-Hello!
-Hello!
Hello!
Whoa, whoa, whoa!
What just jumped out of the water?
Those are fish!
Feesh!
Great name.
Whoa!
-Check it out, Bean! Floaty-floats!
-Whoa!
Can I drive your floaty-float?
No, no, no, no, no, no.
You don't know how to drive a boat.
Especially this one.
I made it myself.
Please, please, please, please!
You can hold the steering wheel,
but just for a
Woo-hoo!
Now we're talking!
-Yahoozo!
-Whoa!
Whoa!
Uh-oh.
Woo-hoo!
Oh, come on!
Uh, oh, oh!
Whoa!
Stella, you need to slow down!
Whoa!
Sorry, Mrs. Zooligan. My friend's
just never been on a boat before.
A Moon-Belly who's never been on a boat?
Stella, stop!
That was
Terrifying!
Stella, it's very, very important
that no one finds out you're a
Star-Belly Sneetch.
So please just play cool.
Psh, of course I'll play it cool.
Did you see that?
Feesh are so strange!
Stella!
Oops.
Cool. Got it.
Now, come on, come on, come on!
I want to see everything.
I can't believe it's really starting
Look at this, look at this
So much I've been dying to see
I can't keep my eyes from darting
Look at this, look at this
Just keep it cool, follow my lead
Right. Keep it cool, follow your lead.
-No problem.
-Whoa!
Look at this
Look at this, look at this
Hi.
Look at this, look at this
Look at this, look at this
Um, Stella.
Smiling Sneetches greet me
Fish, they love to meet me
There's so much I don't want to miss
Look at, look at this
Look at, look at this
Look at that!
Whoa!
-We've got snorkels!
-Have a seat
-Climb aboard!
-This can't be beat
Can we get two floms, a snizzler,
and a twizzleberry treat?
Ranjit, grab a treat.
That was just the receipt.
-Look at this
-Look at this
-Look at this
-Look at this
-Look at this, look at this
-Look at this, look at this
-Look at this, look at this
-Smiling Sneetches greet me
Fish, they love to meet me
Presenting your snizzler.
Your snizzler.
Your snizzler.
Look at, look at this
Look at, look at this
-Look at, look at this
-My head is spinning around
New sights, new scents, new sounds
I can't believe
This place really exists
Look at, look at this
And this and this and this!
And this and this
Oh my stars! I love it here.
The food's so yummy,
and the water's so watery.
Everything is just so different.
That never gets old.
Now that you've seen everything,
we should get you back home.
But I haven't met your family yet.
Ha! You cannot meet my family.
Especially my brother.
Huh? Why not?
Because we'll get caught, Stella.
And then we'll be in big, big trouble.
Please, Pearl. I just want to say hi,
and then I'll go back home.
I promise.
I don't know.
I'm singing a song just like you
And I'm begging to meet your family
Fine
But we have to keep it quick.
Woo-hoo!
Yeah!
As they were rowing,
the best friends were glowing.
The day had been great,
and it was still going.
Now Stella would meet
Pearl's family of Sneetches
before heading back
for her Star-Belly speeches.
-Hello? Anybody home?
-Ooh!
-We're in the kitchen.
-Oh, hi, Mom. Hi, Dad.
I, um, wanted you to meet my
my new friend, Stella.
Blub, blub, blub.
Hm.
Oh! So nice to meet you,
Mr. and Mrs. Puddlesnuff.
Ooh! And you must be Polly.
Love your feesh.
You funny.
Hm.
Let me guess. You're Petey.
The name's Detective Pete.
My little Petey Pie thinks
he's a real detective. Don't you, honey?
Mom! I am a real detective.
I notice
everything.
Well, nothing to see here.
You probably have an important case
to get back to. Am I right?
Isn't it a little strange
that we've never seen you before?
We know every Moon-Belly Sneetch.
Right. Well, Stella lives
far, far, so far away.
We wanted to say hi.
Now we're going to go. Bye-bye.
Pearl, honey, you can't just bring
a friend over and then leave.
Stella's staying for dinner.
She is?
She is?
I am?
You are. Moon-Belly Sneetches
take care of each other,
and Stella is a Moon-Belly Sneetch.
Perfect!
I've got a good one.
Why do ducks have feathers?
Uh, I don't know. Why?
To cover their butt quacks.
That's a good one!
Now, kids, there's something
we need to talk about.
There is a storm rolling in tonight,
and it may not be safe
to stay in Moon-Belly Village.
If the waves get too big,
we row to shallow water.
You understand?
Huh.
-Got it.
-Yes, Dad.
Have you ever tried asking the
Star-Bellies if you could stay with them?
Stella!
You know, just until the storm passes.
We don't need any help
from Star-Belly Sneetches.
-They wouldn't help us, even if we asked.
-But...
You can't trust a Star-Belly Sneetch.
Oh.
Excuse me.
Now, who wants dessert?
I made fresh kelp cookies.
-I do!
-I do!
Mm.
I have to say, Stella, it's really nice
to see Pearl with such a good friend.
We're just over the moon that you're here.
"We're just over the moon
that you're here."
Give me a break.
That Sneetch is hiding something,
and I'm gonna find out what it is.
I'll call this
"The Case of the Suspicious Sneetch."
Oh!
Huh?
Hm.
-Oh.
-Hm.
There's gotta be a clue
around here somewhere.
Hm.
Well, well, well. What do we have here?
Huh?
Now, Dudley, I just want to see
what's in the backpack.
Ouchie! Ow! Ow! Ouchie! Hm.
My booty!
I'll get you, you cranky crab!
Hm. Hey! Where'd all the cookies go?
Oh, I'm sorry, Peteykins. We just ran out.
I ate five.
Well, Stella and I
are going on a boat ride.
Okay, but keep an eye
on the weather, girls.
And if the waves get too big
-Row to shallow water. Got it.
-Whoo!
Thank you for dinner,
Mr. and Mrs. Puddlesnuff. It was yummy.
-And I enjoyed chatting with... Whoa!
-Gotta go!
Oh! Well, isn't she a peachy Sneetch?
I'm going on a boat ride too!
Hm. What's bothering him?
I don't know.
Hm.
Hi-yah!
Thanks for everything, Pearl.
This was the best day ever.
Actually, definitely, yeah.
It was pretty great.
And you still
have your Star Celebration.
Wait. Wait. Wait!
Uh, I'm waiting.
-I just had a great idea!
-Whoa!
We should use the machine
to put a star on your belly.
Then you can come
to the celebration tonight!
There'll be food and music and rides.
You'll love it!
The Star Celebration?
Oh, I can't. Can I?
No, I couldn't. Or could I?
Of course you can!
Now, come on, come on, come on!
So the girls rowed toward
their machine on the beach
to make our friend Pearl
a Star-Belly Sneetch.
But Petey was rowing closely behind.
He wanted to see what dirt he could find.
There you go! Good as new.
Well, hello, little star.
It's nice to have you back.
Can you change the machine
to put a star on your belly?
Actually, definitely, yeah.
I hope.
Help me get some of these pieces loose.
The Forbidden Beach?
What are those two up to?
Aha! A Star-Belly Sneetch!
I knew she was hiding something!
I knew it, I knew it, I knew it!
I've got to tell someone! Whoa!
Whoa!
Ouch.
And this goes here, and...
The celebration is starting!
Are you almost done?
I made the changes, but I need to test it.
Make adjustments, test again.
We don't have time for that!
Now, come on, come on, come on!
Okay, okay. Whoa!
Well, how does it look?
-Oh.
-Bleurgh.
Uh, not great.
Oh no! I forgot to tighten
the fuzz guzzler.
Oh, don't worry. I can fix it.
Uh, no one will notice
your star is a little different.
Everyone will be watching the celebration.
Are you sure?
Nope, but that's half the fun, right?
Now, come on! The parade's about to start.
Pearl entered the forest
and felt very small.
The flowers were huge,
and the trees were so tall.
As she looked all around,
she couldn't help grinning.
And before she knew it,
the parade was beginning.
Oh, I better go get ready.
You stay with Bean
and watch the parade, okay?
-I'll be cheering for you!
-Woo-hoo-hoo! Woo-hoo!
Dum-dum-dum-dum
Dee-dee-dee-doo-da-da-day
Star Celebration!
Dum-dum-dum-dum
Dee-dee-dee-doo-da-da-day
Pure jubilation
Dum-dum-dum-dum
Dee-dee-dee
-Raise your stilts
-And toot with me
Show how proud you are
To be a star
To be a star!
Dum-dum-dum-dum
Dee-dee-dee-doo-da-da-day
Dum-dum-dum-dum
Dee-dee-dee-doo-da-da-day
Dum-dum-dum-dum
Dee-dee-dee
Hold your bellies high with me
Show how proud you are to be a star
Show how proud you are
-To be a star!
-To be a star!
-To be a star!
-To be a star!
Hooray!
And now, for my favorite part
of the ceremony,
the Shining Star speeches!
-Go, Stella!
-Woo-hoo!
That's my friend!
Woo-hoo!
We're Star-Belly Sneetches,
and we love our stars.
We're better than Sneetches
with moons upon thars.
Huh?
And that's why we stay away
from Moon-Belly Sneetches,
'cause we're the best Sneetches
to ever roam the beaches.
-Woo-hoo!
-Yes!
Go, Stella!
Stella looked at her friend,
looked her right in the eye,
and Pearl looked as though
she might start to cry.
Your turn, Stella. Go make us proud.
I really want to, Mom,
but I don't know if I can.
Of course you can. Just be yourself.
Be myself.
You can do it, Stella Bella.
Stella knew all the words
she was supposed to say.
But then she recalled
all she'd done that day.
The Moon-Bellies
weren't mean or selfish or rude.
They treated her well
and fed her good food.
As Stella stood there,
her feelings, they grew,
until Stella knew what she needed to do.
Excuse me.
Um, hi, everybody.
There's something I need to say.
And it might sound a little different.
-Oh no.
-Oh yes.
I just wanted to say that...
Aha!
There she is.
Don't worry, Pearl!
We'll save you!
Mom, it's not what you think.
I can, um, explain.
The jig is up.
Give me back my Moon-Belly sister!
Shooting stars!
-Moon-Belly?
-A star on her belly.
Hm.
It's not a real star. It's a fake!
A fake star?
Attention, everyone.
More Moon-Bellies are coming.
They're on the Forbidden Beach.
Star-Bellies, report to the beach!
Don't let those Moon-Bellies
come any further.
To the beach!
The Case of the Suspicious Sneetch

Ow!
Cranky crab.
The rain started pouring
and soaked every Sneetch
as they met face-to-face
right there on the beach.
Oh my.
I think I'll have myself a nice cup of tea
'cause this is as dramatic
as it could possibly be.
Leave it to a Moon-Belly.
Why would you bring a Moon-Belly Sneetch
to your silly celebration?
We didn't bring a Moon-Belly.
Maybe you sent her over as a spy.
We would never.
Just more proof that Star-Belly Sneetches
are the best kind of Sneetches.
Moon-Bellies are the best,
and everybody knows it.
-That's right.
-We're the best.
No, we're the best.
Everybody, stop!
My whole life,
I've heard that Star-Belly Sneetches
are the best kind of Sneetches.
-Yeah!
-Oh yes.
But I don't think a star
makes anyone the best.
And neither does a moon.
Take Pearl, for example.
Pearl isn't the best
because she has a moon on her belly.
Pearl is the best because she's so smart.
And she's a building genius.
Sure, she can be a little kooky,
but there's no one else like her.
And she's my best friend.
And Stella isn't the best
because of her star.
Stella is the best
because she's always thinking about
how things could be different,
about how they could be better.
Stella's amazing.
And she's my best friend too
Aw.
Don't you see? No kind of Sneetch
is the best on the beach.
It's a nice idea, girls,
but it's just not realistic.
Now, come on, Pearl. Let's get you home.
Watch out! Trees are falling!
We're doomed.
The forest is not safe!
-I repeat, the forest is not safe!
-Oh.
Polly!
Moon-Bellies, steer clear of the seas.
The waves are too big!
Aw, come on, Puddlesnuff.
Our boats can handle these waves.
Never mind.
The waves are getting bigger.
Soon this entire beach will be underwater.
Underwater?
We have to go back.
Stella, we've gotta do something!
Hm. Come on. Think, think, think.
Huh?
I've got it!
See? It's a shelter to keep us dry,
but there's also
A balloon to help us float!
It's brilliant.
Think you can build it?
Actually, definitely, yeah.
Let's do this.
Everyone, listen up! Pearl and I have
a plan to keep us safe from the storm,
but it's gonna take
all of us working together.
Work together? I don't know.
Are we really gonna listen to little kids?
Okay, girls, let's hear your plan.
Here's what we're gonna do.
We're gonna build a floating shelter,
and we're gonna build it fast.
Star-Bellies,
collect all your decorations.
-Doing it!
-Got it!
Moon-Bellies,
bring your boats onto the sand.
Let's do this.
Put the boats over there
and the sails over there.
One, two, three.
Keep sewing. We need to stitch
all the sails and decorations together.
Looking good. But we need more air
if we want this thing to float.
Haul!
-Whoa!
-That's it. There you go.
Never thought
I could've done this.
Every Sneetch inside.
-Keep it moving.
-Everybody hurry.
Climb aboard.
Great work, everyone.
Whoa! You built a retractable ramp?
-You like it?
-Yeah!
We gotta go. Now.
Okay, Pearl, that's everyone.
I'm closing the roof.
Whoa!
Dad, what's that sound?
Oh, that's the sound of a giant wave
heading right for us!
Oh, brace for impact!
Oh my stars!
-Oh no!
-What's going on?
-What's happening?
-Oh no!
We're going up.
-Yeah!
-We're floating!
All right!
Oh, why are we going backwards?
Good news, our float works.
Bad news, we're floating away.
This is not good.
Oh, we're being dragged out to sea!
-Oh, no, no, no.
-We're drifting away!
-We're going backwards!
-Okay, this is bad. Really, really bad.
The baddest of the bad!
Pearl, if we tie our shelter to that rock,
it'll keep us from floating away.
What are you talking about?
That rock is way too far.
You'd have to fly to reach it.
Fly?
Kite wings!
Stella, are you sure we can do this?
Nope. That's half the fun, right?
Hey, where are the girls?
Here we go!
Pearl! Stella!
We are doing this.
-Woo-hoo!
-Woo-hoo!
This is awesome!
And terrifying. Oh!
It's so awesome!
But I'm terrified.
-Whoa!
-Whoa!
Come on, come on!
-Come on, come on.
-Come on.
You got this, Stella!
Whoa!
-Woo-hoo-hoo!
-Woo-hoo!
Yeah!
We did it.
They did it!
-They did it.
-Well done!
Hey.
Stella!
Pearl! Pearl! Help!
Everybody pull!
Oh no.
Stella, close your kite wings.
I will catch you.
I can't! I'm too scared!
-Trust me. Press the button.
-Oh!
-Uh
-Now!
Gotcha!
Thanks, Pearl.
That was a close one.
Too close.
Way too close.
Ready to get out of here?
Oh yeah.
-Whoo!
-Wow!
Yahoozo!
-Oh, thank goodness!
-You're alive!
-Thank our lucky stars.
-My baby.
You saved us! Yay!
-Go, Stella!
-Go, Stella! Go, Pearl!
Go, Pearl!
Storm's not over yet,
but we're in this together.
Everyone huddle up.
It's gonna be a long night.
You seem like you know
what I'm talking about.
Hi, Petey.
Um, I just wanted to
Well, I wanted to say
Thanks for making a floating shelter
that saved all of Sneetchkind.
-You're welcome.
-No problem.
Now, if you'll excuse me,
there's a strange smell over there,
and I'm gonna find out
what it is.
Huh?
Whoa!
-Look, everyone.
-Huh?
-The moon looks beautiful.
-So do the stars.
-The storm has passed.
-All right!
-We did it!
-Sneetch-tastic!
See what we mean?
No kind of Sneetch is the best.
If the moon and stars can share the skies,
maybe us Sneetches can share the beaches.
-Mm.
-Mm-hmm.
Well, a year went by,
and I'm happy to say
the Sneetches got
quite a bit smarter that day.
That day, they decided that
Sneetches are Sneetches.
And no kind of Sneetch
is the best on the beaches.
Aw.
-Yeah!
-Woo-hoo!
Yeah!
Well done, girls.
-Oh, my little Peteykins. Mwah, mwah!
-Mom!
A Moon and Star Celebration.
You girls made
a brand-new Sneetch tradition.
I'm just so proud.
Me too.
We're not scared
To think big and bold and new
Something different can be
Something wonderful too
Take a look
From someone else's point of view
Something different can be
Something wonderful too
Whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh
Something wonderful too
Whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh
Something wonderful too
When tradition gets it wrong
Let your heart rewrite the song
Turns out something different
Can be wonderful too
-Look at this
-Look at this
-Look at this
-Look at this
-Look at this, look at this
-Look at this, look at this
-Look at this, look at this
-Smiling Sneetches greet me
Fish, they love to meet me
Presenting your snizzler.
-Your snizzler.
-Your snizzler.
Look at, look at this
Look at, look at this
-Look at, look at this
-My head is spinning around
New sights, new scents, new sounds
I can't believe
This place really exists
Look at, look at this
And this and this and this!
And this and this
Something different can be
Something wonderful too
Whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh
Something wonderful too
Whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh
Something wonderful too
When tradition gets it wrong
Let your heart rewrite the song
Turns out something different
Can be wonderful too
