From EPCOT at Walt Disney World Resort,
this is Harmonious Live!
-A mind-blowing nighttime spectacular
-(audience cheering)
that celebrates
the magic of Disney music
and the power it has
to bring the world together.
It's not just fireworks and lasers.
It's our favorite Disney songs
and stories brought to life
in a way we've never seen before,
in a way that puts all of you at home
right in the middle of the action.
For the first-time
In forever
(laughs) Just kidding.
(audience cheering)
and for one-night only,
over 90 musicians and singers
from all over the world have come together
to perform the Harmonious soundtrack
just for you.
We're traveling all around this lagoon
to bring you live performances.
From the orchestra
leading us through the medley of songs
here at World Showcase Plaza,
to Mexico with a Mariachi Band,
and over to the Italy Pavilion
where our gospel choir will perform
"Dig a Little Deeper."
And we'll get to hear cultural instruments
from different parts of the world
-(Qanun plays)
- like the Arabic string instrument,
the Qanun.
-Did I say that right?
-Yeah, you said it right.
-What's your name, sir?
-That's cool. My name's Mina Rakey.
-Mina Rakey, welcome.
-Yeah.
-Thank you.
-We're so happy to have you here.
-Thank you.
-What a magnificent instrument.
-(laughs)
-Appreciate it.
-And this is the Sitar from India, right?
-(Sitar plays)
-What's your name, ma'am?
-Yes, ma'am.
Surabhi.
-Surabhi. That's so beautiful.
-Thanks.
Can I-- I've been practicing for this gig.
Can I-- I'm just kidding.
(laughter)
That's just some
of the incredible instruments
you'll hear in just a few minutes,
but right now, I want to introduce you
to someone very, very special.
She's narrating the story
of Harmonious tonight.
Please welcome actress, singer,
and the voice of Moana, Auli'i Cravalho.
(audience cheering)
-Hi!
-You look beautiful.
Oh! Let's hold hands.
I'm so excited to meet you.
Thank you. I'm honored to meet you.
I'm honored. I'm-- I just so--
Congratulations on all of your success.
You are now a member
of the billion stream club
for "How Far I'll Go".
-It's true. It's true.
-Yay!
-Isn't that incredible?
-That's me.
-Welcome. Welcome to the club.
-Thank you very much.
-(giggling)
-(audience applauding)
So, what do you think it is, Auli'i,
that like makes music sort of transcend
all people and cultures
and bring everyone together?
Oh. That's a great question.
I think that music, um, is emotion
put to melody.
So if you allow yourself
to go on the journey
and to really feel the emotion
of the performer
-Mm-hmm.
- you'll understand the message.
And I think that's the power
of the human spirit,
it really transcends language.
I relate to that so much, really.
-The emotion is the-- it--
-Yeah.
Well, you can't tell a lie
through what we feel
-in our bodies, you know?
-Agreed.
-Okay, I'll let you go.
-Thank you.
-So great to see you. Break a leg.
-Thank you very much.
-I'll see you later.
-She's going to tell the story tonight.
Goodbye. (chuckles)
(audience cheering)
Now, let me tell you a little bit more
about the music from Harmonious.
The soundtrack is made up
of 15 Disney songs in 13 languages.
And get this, 240 musical artists
from around the world contributed
to the final recording.
Putting it all together required
100 recording sessions in nine countries.
And it includes these two ladies.
They are true gospel music icons
and they'll be treating us
to a heavenly performance tonight.
Please welcome
the dynamic mother-daughter duo.
I don't know who's mother
-and who's daughter
-(both chuckle)
but it's Karen Clark Sheard
and Kierra Sheard-Kelly.
-Hi!
-Thank you.
-I'm so happy to meet you.
-Thank you.
I just want to tell everyone out there
I can't wait for you to hear
their performance.
I was listening at the dress rehearsal.
And they just-- They send--
Your voices send shivers through my spine.
-Thank you.
-It's just piercing. It's so unbelievably
-inspiring and beautiful.
-BOTH: Thank you.
What do you want us to feel tonight
when you sing "Dig A Little Deeper"?
I want them to be empowered and packed
and to know
that all of our gifts and talents,
uh, can just touch the world.
I mean, you have the universal language
in music coming forth tonight.
-Yes.
-And it's just amazing that--
to just encourage everybody.
-You got to do what you got inside of you.
-Yeah.
Yeah. Exactly what mom said.
Dig deeper. The world awaits you.
If the world awaits you, then that means
we're waiting on an answer
to come from you.
So dig with that answer and give it to us.
-Yes. And-And be present.
-Yes.
-Embrace the moment.
-Absolutely. Absolutely.
Okay, well, I believe (laughs)
- there's a boat waiting for you.
-Yeah.
And you're going to take it
across the lagoon
over to the Italy Pavilion
-Yes.
-(laughs) and to your performance
-so thank you so much.
-BOTH: Thank you.
Have a great performance
and I look forward to seeing you
after the show.
Thank you.
(audience cheering, applauding)
In the meantime,
I have a special treat for you.
(sighs) The power of music
is something we can all agree on, right?
Like every time I hear someone
sing "Let it Go,"
it's just--
it's the most indescribable feeling.
It's truly a gift.
And I would sing about it (chuckles)
but instead I reached out
to my very good friend, Kristen Bell,
to help me put it into words.
Check this out.
(harmonious music playing)
(various instruments tuning)
-(playing stops)
-(lock clicks)
(plucks)
KRISTEN: Music.
(classical music playing)
KRISTEN: It's the universal language
we all know,
we all feel.
Music can spark a smile,
coax a tear,
lift a heart in triumph,
console the defeated.
It holds the remarkable power
to bring us together
in moments both big and small.
A first wedding dance.
A milestone birthday.
A road trip adventure.
A backyard dance party
on a cool summer night.
Music touches us all.
A common thread that helps weave
the tapestry of our lives.
A song can capture a memory,
forever holding in amber.
(Carnatic music plays)
KRISTEN: A single lyric can sweep you up
and pull you back
to a treasured moment lost in time.
Uniquely, vividly.
Through imagination, music transcends.
-(whooshes)
-(classical music plays)
KRISTEN: It sees no lines
of race or nationality.
It's universal,
generational, multicultural.
It gives us hope, strength, joy, harmony.
Harmony within ourselves
and with one another.
The great power of music
binds us all together,
especially when we need it most.
When the world seems to need it most.
Music is harmonious.
And the world can be, too.
That was so beautiful.
Thank you, Kristen. I love you so much.
Now, it's almost showtime,
and everyone's getting ready,
like the choir,
who I see heading over to their places.
Hi, everybody.
They're not paying attention to me.
-(laughs)
-(audience laughs)
I'm so excited,
because all of us are here together,
from all over the world,
to take this journey, and experience
this spectacular like never before.
And joining me now are two more artists
who contributed to the original soundtrack
and will be performing together live
for the first time tonight.
Please welcome the coolest violinists
on the planet,
Mirad Nesbitt and Lindsey Stirling.
-Hello. Thank you.
-Hi, everyone.
-(audience cheering)
-Thank you.
It's the first time
you're performing together?
-That's so exciting.
-Yes.
And I just have to tell you,
this is so special to me
because I have been so inspired
by Mirad for years.
And she has been incredibly influential
in helping me
become the musician I am today.
-So this is a honor.
-Well, my dream come true, seriously.
It's fantastic to play.
And isn't it wonderful after being
so isolated for so long
to be in the same room
-and feed off each other
-Yes.
and the energy
of all these live musicians?
-And she has energy, let me tell you.
-(laughing)
We're bringing the energy.
Okay. Well, we can't wait to hear it.
I love you both. I'll see you soon.
-BOTH: Thank you.
-Okay.
(smooches)
Well, it's showtime!
So prepare to delight your senses
and be inspired
by the mind-blowing sights and sounds.
This is Harmonious!
(audience cheering)
Tonight, let's gather together
as one in celebration.
Lift your eyes to the skies
and witness the wonder,
as we unite in Harmony.
(vocalizing "EPCOT Theme")
All around us,
the world is alive with music.
(woman singing "Tulou Tagaloa")
Voices calling out
in search of one another.
-We find each other in song.
-("Vuelie" playing)
(singing "Circle of Life")
(choir singing "The Bells Of Notre Dame")
(choir singing "Vuelie")
("How far I'll go" playing)
I've been staring
at the edge of the water
Long as I can remember
never really knowing why
(singing in various languages)
If I go there's just
no telling how far I'll go
-(singing in various languages)
-How far I'll go
How far I'll go
-("Go the Distance" playing)
-I have often dreamed
Of a far-off place
Where a great warm welcome
will be waiting for me
(singing in various languages)
I will find
There's a line where the sky
meets the sea
-It calls me
-My way
-And yes I know, that I can go
-(singing in various languages)
If the wind in my sail
on the sea stays behind me
-One day I'll know
-(singing in various languages)
How far I'll go
I will search the world
I can go the distance
-Till I find my hero's welcome
-Where I long to be
Right where I belong
Where I belong
-(music ends)
-(audience cheering)
Our journey through song
continues across every continent.
Marvel at the magic of music
as our stories echo around the globe.
-("Arabian Nights" playing)
-(vocalizing "EPCOT Theme")
Arabian nights
Like Arabian days
More often than not
are hotter than hot
In a lot of good ways
(singing in Arabic)
(fireworks crackling)
(music continues)
-(music continues)
-(male vocalizing)
(female vocalizing)
("I Wanna Be Like You" playing)
Hey, hey!
Hey! Hey, hey!
Now, I'm the king of the swingers
Oh, the jungle V.I.P.
I've reached the top and had to stop
and that's what's bothering me
I wanna be a man, man-cub
and stroll right into town
And be just like the other men
I'm tired of monkeyin' around
(singing in Hindi)
I wanna walk like you
talk like you, too
You'll see it's true
An ape like me
Can learn to be human too
Can learn to be human too
(female vocalizing)
(music ends)
("Reflection" playing)
(singing in Mandarin)
Now I see
If I wear a mask, I can fool the world
But I cannot fool my heart
(singing in Mandarin)
When will my reflection show
Who I am?
(music rises)
There's a heart that must be free
To fly, that burns
With a need to know
The reason why
(men grunting)
(music stops)
When will my reflection show
Who I am
(singing in Mandarin)
(various languages) Inside?
(music ends)
(people singing in isiZulu)
Hakuna Matata
-What a wonderful phrase
-Hakuna Matata
Hakuna Matata
Ain't no passing craze
It means no worries
for the rest of your days
It's our problem-free philosophy
Hakuna Matata, ooh
-("Can You Feel the Love Tonight" playing)
-(people singing in isiZulu)
Can you feel the love tonight
It is how we are
It's enough
For this wide-eyed wanderer
That we've got this far
That we've got this far
(singing in isiZulu)
(music ends)
("The Rose" playing)
(soft vocalizing)
-("Hellfire" playing)
-(vocalizing)

Out there
Living in the sun
Give me one day out there
All I ask is one

(singing in French)
One day
-(singing in various languages)

Chase the wind and touch the sky

-(female vocalizing)
("Remember me" playing)
Remember me
(singing in Spanish)

the only way that I can be
Until you're in my arms again

Dig a little deeper
When you find out who you are
You find out what you need
Blue skies and sunshine
Blue skies and sunshine
Blue skies and sunshine
Guaranteed
Oh
(vocalizing)

-(choir vocalizing)
A uniting force with boundless energy.
-Your connection to the entire world.
-("Someday" playing)
Someday
When we are wiser
When the world's older
When we have learned
I pray
Someday we may yet live
To live and let live
(orchestra music playing)
Someday
Life will be fairer
Need will be rarer
And greed will not pay
Godspeed
This bright millennium
On its way
Let it come
Someday
You raise your voice and it's enough
to lift the human spirit.
Set the song inside you soaring,
and the whole wide world will hear it.
-(fireworks crackling)
-(vocalizing)
(vocalizing)
Someday
Life will be fairer
Need will be rarer
And greed will not pay

Wherever the world leads you,
we hope you carry a song with you,
and know that it is all the more beautiful
when we sing it together.
(audience cheering)
That was incredible. I'm-I'm speechless.
I am just so grateful to be sharing
the stage with this extraordinary talent.
We just traveled around the world,
and the World Showcase Lagoon
from Italy to the Mexico Pavilion,
listening to classic Disney songs
performed live!
And the best part is we did it together.
I love that I got to experience
this once-in-a-lifetime event
to share our music and our cultures
with you and your friends
and your family and your partners.
I love that I got to share it
with all of you.
Thanks for joining us for Harmonious Live
