Howl of the Forgotten (2026) Movie Script
1
Tonight we bring you a story
that's stirring both fascination and fear
across mid Michigan.
A mysterious creature said to be
the legendary Michigan Dog Man
has reportedly been
seen in "Gladwin County".
Good evening.
Our top story tonight
comes from Sumpter, Michigan,
where a terrifying and tragic incident
has shaken the local community.
Over the weekend, two
teenagers were found mauled
near the popular Haunted
Hill Hayride attraction,
casting a shadow over this staple of
Halloween festivities.
According to authorities,
the teenagers were discovered in the
morning of November 1st,
just a day after Haunted Hill
closed its doors for the season.
It all began last weekend,
when several
residents living near the edge
of the Osable State
Forest called local authorities
to report seeing a large wolf-like animal
standing upright in the forest's edge.
According to eyewitness accounts,
the creature was well over six feet tall
with amber eyes that reflected the beams
of the passing car headlights.
Jane Mulvaney, a
lifelong outdoor enthusiast
and "Gladwin" township resident,
described what she saw
in a written statement.
Details about the
victims have not been released
as police continue their investigation.
At this time, law
enforcement officials say
that they have no suspects in custody
and are urging anyone with
information to come forward.
The nature of the injuries
has left residents deeply unsettled,
fueling rumors and
speculation throughout this region.
One theory gaining traction in Sumpter
is the legendary Michigan Dog Man.
I was driving home on M18 just after dusk
when I saw something in my headlights.
At first, I thought it was a deer,
but then it stood up on its hind legs.
It was enormous, tall as a person,
but hunched and covered in fur.
It looked right at me,
then darted into the trees.
I'll never forget those eyes.
A figure of local folklore
reputed to be a mysterious
wolf-like creature
roaming the northern woods.
While there is no evidence
to support the involvement
of the Dog Man, the legend
has added an eerie undertone
to an already chilling case.
We caught up with the owner
of Haunted Hill, William Abraham.
This is what he had to say.
I feel really bad about what occurred,
but it didn't happen here.
I mean, those woods are big
and they were way out there somewhere.
And again, I feel really bad,
but, you know, it was
a terrible situation
and I don't know what
else more I can say.
Gladwin County officials
are ramping up their patrols
and working with state authorities
to investigate the claim.
While there's never
been any physical evidence,
they remain on high alert
for any unusual activity.
The Department of
Natural Resources, excuse me,
has advised campers and
hikers to stick to marked trails,
keep food secure, and avoid wandering
around at night alone.
That's where there's
definitely a lot of Michigan folklore
about a dog man in these areas.
So you really do believe
that it could be
something along those lines?
Oh yeah, definitely.
There's been many times out in the woods
that I have heard and seen things.
I basically scared me out of the woods.
Oh my goodness.
I can't imagine how
terrifying that must be
and what these poor
teenagers must have gone through
when they were attacked.
Has anything like this ever
occurred in the prior years
or?
Not here, but in other
places in Michigan, yes.
Hope everything will fit
in this wagon that I bought.
It might, if not we can carry it.
Put the biggest stuff in there.
How far back are we going?
Oh, not too far.
Just a mile, a mile and a half.
What the hell is that?
Oh, that's just an old prop
from Haunted Hill.
Haunted Hill?
Yeah, there used to be
an old attraction back here.
They closed in 2015.
Why would someone leave this out here?
It's so creepy.
The guy that owns Haunted
Hill still owns the prop.
Are there any other props out here?
Could be.
Just keep a look out and
watch where you're going.
There's an old
graveyard, not too far back,
but it might be fake though.
Might be fake, so it could be real?
Ooh, we should go check it out.
We can if we come across it.
Come on.
Julie, how about you and Heather
go get some wood for the fire later
and me and Dave will stay
back and set up the tents.
It's a good idea.
That way we can do some exploring later.
Yeah, if it's fine with
Heather, I'm good with that.
Can we find that cemetery?
We can, we could try to
find it, but if it's not there.
Sure there's other
things that we can find.
I'm sure we can find a way to scare you
after we get everything set up.
You're not scaring anybody.
Let's go get some wood.
You know, I can't help but wonder
if they brought us out here
just so they could scare us.
Probably.
They're always joking
around and goofing off.
Yeah, I wonder if they're ever gonna grow
out of this crap.
Probably not.
So, do you still remember
where that cemetery's at?
I think so.
It's been a few years.
If we can't find it, I'm
sure there are plenty of things
around here that we can explore.
All right, good.
So I wanna show the
ladies some real creepy shit.
All right, so when you tell that story later.
Of course.
Oh, you know what we should do?
We should scare them this weekend.
That's a great idea.
Teach them a lesson.
Has Dave told you
anything that we could use?
No, he's only told Bruce,
but that was probably by design.
We'll find a way to get it out of him.
Find a way to scare him.
You want a beer?
Yeah, send it over.
Cheers.
I just want Julie to have a good time.
All right, because after this,
we're not gonna be able to do much.
How are the wedding plans going?
Not bad.
Julie and her sister are doing most of it.
my job is to show up.
Show up with your balls in a jar,
and then you can hand it right on over.
You're a jackass, all right,
because that's not true.
But I just don't have
much free time right now
because we're looking for a house.
But once I have that situated,
they're gonna hang out again.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here,
all right.
I'm gonna say the next time you call me
is to move into said house.
So there better be beer and pizza,
or I'm going on strike.
You are gonna be the first call,
and pizza will be second.
Do you see anything?
No, just wondering if they're
gonna jump out and scare us.
I wanna be ready if they do.
Let's walk a little slower.
We gotta be on our guard this weekend.
Laughing
What's so funny?
Nothing, just horsing around.
They're just goofing off
instead of setting up camp.
Dave is just busting my chops.
Well, let's stop acting like kids
and finish up so that we can
go out and do some exploring.
Shit.
Did I even bring something
to charge a phone with?
No, I left mine as a truck.
Anyway, there's no signal out here.
Yeah, let's unplug for the weekend.
Enjoy nature.
Sounds good.
I wanna go see what's out there anyway.
I don't know, I feel like
we should have at least one
in case of an emergency.
We don't need one.
We're not that far
from the truck, are we, Dave?
In the daylight, not really,
but at night, we might
wanna wait till it's light out.
The woods kinda look the same.
Lose your sense of direction.
If there's no signal,
what does it matter?
We're not gonna be able to make a call.
Yeah.
All right, I'll turn
it off to save battery.
That way, in case we
do need to make a call
with some luck and tree climbing, we can.
Well, let's grab some lunch
so that we can go do some exploring.
I wanna go see that fake graveyard.
Sounds good.
So the men get there's first.
Why do you have a gun?
Well, we're out in
the middle of the woods.
It might be dark out while we're gone.
They're coyotes.
Better to be safe than sorry.
Yeah, one coyote won't hurt us,
but three or four?
Just a precaution.
Okay, well, now that camp's set up,
let's go do some exploring.
Well, here it is.
Not so scary.
Looks like someone's been taking care of it.
Yeah, I expected more weeds.
Maybe it's not all fake.
Could be that real
people are buried here.
Hey, buddy, what you doing?
Nothing.
Looks like you're carving
something into this tree.
What is it?
Yeah, what's that symbol?
No, I'm just going for a walk.
Okay, that's fine,
but what is the symbol?
You don't have to be afraid.
You're not in trouble or anything.
It keeps the evil spirits contained.
It keeps us protected.
This cemetery is fake.
You know that, right?
No.
There are unmarked graves.
They're fake, but not the Indians.
They are buried here.
This guy's not right.
Yeah, I doubt that.
You smell good.
Yeah, you seem a little different.
Don't touch that.
Don't mess it up.
Maybe you'll survive.
Maybe?
Think I'm gonna go.
He just playing a game.
That guy's, trying to scare us.
I don't know.
All of it sounds really creepy.
Look, guys, we ain't got
nothing to worry about.
We should probably head back.
The sun's about to go down.
We have a long walk ahead of us.
Yeah, we should go
before it gets too dark.
Bruce, don't.
What if what he said is true?
Like carving something in a tree
is gonna keep anything away.
Come on.
Just some superstitious bullshit.
Hey, babe.
Can you hand me another beer?
Yeah, of course.
Thank you.
Dave, why don't you tell
the ladies about Haunted Hill?
I don't know.
They might be too scared.
I'm not scared.
This isn't my first camping trip.
Are you scared, Julie?
No, I have Bruce here to keep me safe.
Tell the story, Dave.
Okay.
Well, like I said before,
this place used to be
called Haunted Hill Hey Ride.
Haunted attraction, of course.
They have people dressed up as zombies,
Dracula, monsters, crazy clowns.
But.
Back in 2015.
On the last night of the Halloween season.
The workers that worked
there wanted to celebrate.
After everything closed,
they came out here, made a bonfire.
Out partying, two kids decided to go off
and smoke some weed.
Well, the owner, he didn't allow that.
Two kids, went missing for a while.
The others went to go look for them.
They couldn't find them.
So they called the police.
Police said the two kids were
missing for about six hours.
But come morning,
they found them.
They found them ripped to shreds.
Both, dead.
And knowing that you guys
wanted to camp out here,
I'm sure it's fine.
Did they find out what happened?
They say, they were atacked by some coyotes.
But if they would have stayed by the fire
and had other people around,
they would have been fine.
Coyotes used to be overpopulated,
but the farmers around here, they took
care of that problem.
Makes me feel a little better, I guess.
You see anything?
I don't know.
Everybody just...
Quiet for a minute.
Just a couple of squirrels,
nothing to worry about.
Except for that.
That gave everyone a jump.
Sure gave my heart a scare.
What happened to Haunted Hill?
The owner closed down
the property permanently.
Anybody need another beer?
Right here, my good man.
I'm good.
You?
All right.
So, were the native Americans really here,
at one time?
That crazy guy said a bunch of them
were buried in unmarked graves here.
Come on, Julie, why wouldn't they mark
the graves if they were buried here?
The graves were marked at one time,
but they didn't use grave stones.
They'd plant a tree or use
a stone and engrave them,
but by now they'd be long gone.
Okay, Mr. Anthropologist.
Have any stories about
Native Americans then?
I do have one legend about this area.
Let's hear it then, that is if
Julie isn't too scared.
I'm fine.
Tell the story.
Okay.
I don't know, about 100 years ago,
there were three Native
American tribes that settled here.
For a month, people went missing.
And when each of them were found,
they looked like they were mauled.
So, the chief sent his three best hunters
to look for the animal
that might have killed them.
So what was it?
What killed them?
The hunters, they never came back.
They were never found.
So, the chief felt it
wasn't safe to live here.
So the Native people left.
They just left, not
knowing what killed their people.
They said that this land is cursed.
And,
that they were hunted, by a werewolf.
You're full of shit.
You really expect us to believe that.
A werewolf?
I told you they only
brought us out here to scare us.
That is not true.
We could have scared you
when you guys were
collecting firewood earlier,
but we didn't.
That makes me feel better,
but I'm still not scared.
Right, Julie?
Right.
Besides, there used to
be a ton more wild animals
around here than there are now.
Well, nature is calling.
You don't buy beer, you rent it.
Amen.
It's really not that funny
when you make the same
joke over and over again.
Well, then maybe you
should read something.
Is he ever coming back?
Going number two, I guess.
Yeah, he must be.
It's gonna get eaten by a bear.
The bear shit's in the woods.
Yeah, I don't get it.
Okay, we did talk about this,
and I think we decided on Aruba.
She decided.
Ok, the flights are really not that expensive.
I wanted Turks and Caicos.
I think this sounds like it.
Y'all talking shit?
Would we do that?
Yeah, y'all would.
Especially Brucie.
That doesn't sound like me at all.
Looks like we're running out of firewood.
Who's going to go get it?
Heather and I got it, so I
think the guys should have to.
I'll go.
Gotta take a piss anyway.
I'll go with you.
Hang on.
Good.
All right, you stay here with the ladies,
and besides, I don't want you peeking.
I'll come with you.
No, stay here by the fire.
I won't be long.
Besides, I'll just be right there.
Yeah, but you really shouldn't go alone.
You worry too much.
Dave, tell another story.
Yeah?
No.
Dear God, no more stories.
Are you sure you don't want me to go?
Please, just stay here.
Fine.
Who the hell are you?
Get the hell out of here!
Dave.
You should hear bruce in the morning.
Really?
Just like that?
Back in college, it was like that.
Never change.
Never does.
They never do.
Bruce!
I see him!
Come on!
What could have done this?
I don't know, Julie, I'm so sorry.
Was it just an animal, a bear?
No, this was no animal.
Not that I can think of.
Come on, I have to take
you both back to camp.
No, I have to both take you back to camp.
I don't know what this
was or how it did this.
I have to take you back.
Let's go.
We have to go back.
I will come back and get him.
I promise.
You better.
Come on, let's go.
Julie.
Julie!
Look, we can't move Bruce.
I'm gonna take this
tarp and wrap him up in it
so the animals don't eat him.
Why can't we just bring him back here?
We can keep them away.
As soon as it gets daylight,
we will go back to the truck.
We will call the police
and they will come out here
and give us answers for what happened.
It's not a good idea to move him.
We can't get rid of any
evidence that they have of him.
Dave makes a good point.
We should wait for daylight
and get the authorities out here.
He knows what he is talking about.
Let's just go when Dave comes back.
It wouldn't be safe to
leave while it's still dark.
We could lose the trail and get lost
and then we wouldn't find our way back.
What are you doing?
I'm calling for help.
Is it working?
No.
There's no signal and my
battery is still almost dead.
It's still fresh.
This doesn't make any sense.
Why didn't you wrap Bruce in the tarp?
When I got back there, he was gone.
What?
Gone?
Where could he have gone?
Did something drag him?
No, there were no drag marks.
But when I searched the area,
it was like he just vanished.
Well, maybe you're in the wrong spot.
He's still there, he has to be.
When I went to where he was,
there was only a pool of blood
that's it.
So what now?
If we get the cops out
here and there's no Bruce,
they're gonna think we're nuts.
I have my phone.
I don't have signal, but
if we go down the trail,
maybe I can get some.
What do you think?
Is it worth a try?
We could try, but if there's no signal,
we come back to this camp.
Sounds good.
Let's put some more wood on the fire
so that it doesn't go out.
Do you have a signal yet?
No, not yet.
Wait.
Dammit, the phone just died.
Let's go back to camp.
Come on.
Try and calm down.
Drink this water.
I'm gonna go talk to Dave real quick
and see if we can figure
out a plan to get out of here.
Can we at least go look for Bruce?
Or at least on our way out?
I'll see what I can do, but no promises.
So what should we do?
Try to find our way to the truck?
With it being dark out,
it's not a good idea.
We should wait until daybreak.
Stay together.
And if any animals or something
comes near the camp,
I'll blow them away.
What is it, Dave?
Something definitely has you freaked out.
Man, there is nothing that I can think of
that can just pick up a body
without any drag marks
or tracks in the ground.
Okay.
Let's go back to what you thought when
you first found Bruce.
What were you thinking then?
He came across
someone and they used a pole
or something to kill him.
Some crazy lunatic.
Who else would be out here?
No one that I can think of.
But these woods, they go a long way.
Maybe it was that guy
at the cemetery earlier.
No, he didn't see him all there.
I don't think he could be capable
of something like this.
Now, after not seeing any
tracks or disturbed ground,
I'm thinking what's out there, it's not human.
Julie.
Come on, we have to help her.
No, stop.
We don't know
what we're dealing with out there.
It wouldn't be safe for us.
We have to do something.
We can't just leave her out there.
What?
We go out there and end up like Bruce?
You told her to stay.
She didn't.
I'm sorry to tell you,
but she's on her own.
What do you mean on her own?
We should stay together.
Me and you are.
She might be dead already.
How can you say that?
She's our friend, Dave.
She needs our help.
I know.
But she made her own choice.
It sucks.
I'm sorry.
But she should have stayed.
You want a water?
No.
I'm okay.
It's so quiet.
How long until daylight, do you think?
I'm not sure.
A couple hours.
Maybe we could hike out of here now.
We can put a couple lanterns together
to get some extra light.
The fire is the safest
place we need to be right now.
Whatever's out there,
they're waiting for us
to leave this camp.
I hope you're right.
Did you bring anything else
that we could use as a weapon?
No.
I wanted to bring my knife
but, I decided not to.
Get off of him! stop!
Go, go!
Julie, get up, come on.
Oh my God, Julie.
So this is a fairly
common occurrence, then?
Yes, it is.
It's a common occurrence,
and people should take note
of that before they go
spending the night out in the woods,
where they, you know,
they're not safe, like, at home.
It's dangerous out there.
Yes.
Tonight we bring you a story

but at night, we might
wanna wait till it's light out.
The woods kinda look the same.
Lose your sense of direction.
If there's no signal,
what does it matter?
We're not gonna be able to make a call.
Yeah.
All right, I'll turn
it off to save battery.
That way, in case we
do need to make a call
with some luck and tree climbing, we can.
Well, let's grab some lunch
so that we can go do some exploring.
I wanna go see that fake graveyard.
Sounds good.
So the men get there's first.
Why do you have a gun?
Well, we're out in
the middle of the woods.
It might be dark out while we're gone.
They're coyotes.
Better to be safe than sorry.
Yeah, one coyote won't hurt us,
but three or four?
Just a precaution.
Okay, well, now that camp's set up,
let's go do some exploring.
Well, here it is.
Not so scary.
Looks like someone's been taking care of it.
Yeah, I expected more weeds.
Maybe it's not all fake.
Could be that real
people are buried here.
Hey, buddy, what you doing?
Nothing.
Looks like you're carving
something into this tree.
What is it?
Yeah, what's that symbol?
No, I'm just going for a walk.
Okay, that's fine,
but what is the symbol?
You don't have to be afraid.
You're not in trouble or anything.
It keeps the evil spirits contained.
It keeps us protected.
This cemetery is fake.
You know that, right?
No.
There are unmarked graves.
They're fake, but not the Indians.
They are buried here.
This guy's not right.
Yeah, I doubt that.
You smell good.
Yeah, you seem a little different.
Don't touch that.
Don't mess it up.
Maybe you'll survive.
Maybe?
Think I'm gonna go.
He just playing a game.
That guy's, trying to scare us.
I don't know.
All of it sounds really creepy.
Look, guys, we ain't got
nothing to worry about.
We should probably head back.
The sun's about to go down.
We have a long walk ahead of us.
Yeah, we should go
before it gets too dark.
Bruce, don't.
What if what he said is true?
Like carving something in a tree
is gonna keep anything away.
Come on.
Just some superstitious bullshit.
Hey, babe.
Can you hand me another beer?
Yeah, of course.
Thank you.
Dave, why don't you tell
the ladies about Haunted Hill?
I don't know.
They might be too scared.
I'm not scared.
This isn't my first camping trip.
Are you scared, Julie?
No, I have Bruce here to keep me safe.
Tell the story, Dave.
Okay.
Well, like I said before,
this place used to be
called Haunted Hill Hey Ride.
Haunted attraction, of course.
They have people dressed up as zombies,
Dracula, monsters, crazy clowns.
But.
Back in 2015.
On the last night of the Halloween season.
The workers that worked
there wanted to celebrate.
After everything closed,
they came out here, made a bonfire.
Out partying, two kids decided to go off
and smoke some weed.
Well, the owner, he didn't allow that.
Two kids, went missing for a while.
The others went to go look for them.
They couldn't find them.
So they called the police.
Police said the two kids were
missing for about six hours.
But come morning,
they found them.
They found them ripped to shreds.
Both, dead.
And knowing that you guys
wanted to camp out here,
I'm sure it's fine.
Did they find out what happened?
They say, they were atacked by some coyotes.
But if they would have stayed by the fire
and had other people around,
they would have been fine.
Coyotes used to be overpopulated,
but the farmers around here, they took
care of that problem.
Makes me feel a little better, I guess.
You see anything?
I don't know.
Everybody just...
Quiet for a minute.
Just a couple of squirrels,
nothing to worry about.
Except for that.
That gave everyone a jump.
Sure gave my heart a scare.
What happened to Haunted Hill?
The owner closed down
the property permanently.
Anybody need another beer?
Right here, my good man.
I'm good.
You?
All right.
So, were the native Americans really here,
at one time?
That crazy guy said a bunch of them
were buried in unmarked graves here.
Come on, Julie, why wouldn't they mark
the graves if they were buried here?
The graves were marked at one time,
but they didn't use grave stones.
They'd plant a tree or use
a stone and engrave them,
but by now they'd be long gone.
Okay, Mr. Anthropologist.
Have any stories about
Native Americans then?
I do have one legend about this area.
Let's hear it then, that is if
Julie isn't too scared.
I'm fine.
Tell the story.
Okay.
I don't know, about 100 years ago,
there were three Native
American tribes that settled here.
For a month, people went missing.
And when each of them were found,
they looked like they were mauled.
So, the chief sent his three best hunters
to look for the animal
that might have killed them.
So what was it?
What killed them?
The hunters, they never came back.
They were never found.
So, the chief felt it
wasn't safe to live here.
So the Native people left.
They just left, not
knowing what killed their people.
They said that this land is cursed.
And,
that they were hunted, by a werewolf.
You're full of shit.
You really expect us to believe that.
A werewolf?
I told you they only
brought us out here to scare us.
That is not true.
We could have scared you
when you guys were
collecting firewood earlier,
but we didn't.
That makes me feel better,
but I'm still not scared.
Right, Julie?
Right.
Besides, there used to
be a ton more wild animals
around here than there are now.
Well, nature is calling.
You don't buy beer, you rent it.
Amen.
It's really not that funny
when you make the same
joke over and over again.
Well, then maybe you
should read something.
Is he ever coming back?
Going number two, I guess.
Yeah, he must be.
It's gonna get eaten by a bear.
The bear shit's in the woods.
Yeah, I don't get it.
Okay, we did talk about this,
and I think we decided on Aruba.
She decided.
Ok, the flights are really not that expensive.
I wanted Turks and Caicos.
I think this sounds like it.
Y'all talking shit?
Would we do that?
Yeah, y'all would.
Especially Brucie.
That doesn't sound like me at all.
Looks like we're running out of firewood.
Who's going to go get it?
Heather and I got it, so I
think the guys should have to.
I'll go.
Gotta take a piss anyway.
I'll go with you.
Hang on.
Good.
All right, you stay here with the ladies,
and besides, I don't want you peeking.
I'll come with you.
No, stay here by the fire.
I won't be long.
Besides, I'll just be right there.
Yeah, but you really shouldn't go alone.
You worry too much.
Dave, tell another story.
Yeah?
No.
Dear God, no more stories.
Are you sure you don't want me to go?
Please, just stay here.
Fine.
Who the hell are you?
Get the hell out of here!
Dave.
You should hear bruce in the morning.
Really?
Just like that?
Back in college, it was like that.
Never change.
Never does.
They never do.
Bruce!
I see him!
Come on!
What could have done this?
I don't know, Julie, I'm so sorry.
Was it just an animal, a bear?
No, this was no animal.
Not that I can think of.
Come on, I have to take
you both back to camp.
No, I have to both take you back to camp.
I don't know what this
was or how it did this.
I have to take you back.
Let's go.
We have to go back.
I will come back and get him.
I promise.
You better.
Come on, let's go.
Julie.
Julie!
Look, we can't move Bruce.
I'm gonna take this
tarp and wrap him up in it
so the animals don't eat him.
Why can't we just bring him back here?
We can keep them away.
As soon as it gets daylight,
we will go back to the truck.
We will call the police
and they will come out here
and give us answers for what happened.
It's not a good idea to move him.
We can't get rid of any
evidence that they have of him.
Dave makes a good point.
We should wait for daylight
and get the authorities out here.
He knows what he is talking about.
Let's just go when Dave comes back.
It wouldn't be safe to
leave while it's still dark.
We could lose the trail and get lost
and then we wouldn't find our way back.
What are you doing?
I'm calling for help.
Is it working?
No.
There's no signal and my
battery is still almost dead.
It's still fresh.
This doesn't make any sense.
Why didn't you wrap Bruce in the tarp?
When I got back there, he was gone.
What?
Gone?
Where could he have gone?
Did something drag him?
No, there were no drag marks.
But when I searched the area,
it was like he just vanished.
Well, maybe you're in the wrong spot.
He's still there, he has to be.
When I went to where he was,
there was only a pool of blood
that's it.
So what now?
If we get the cops out
here and there's no Bruce,
they're gonna think we're nuts.
I have my phone.
I don't have signal, but
if we go down the trail,
maybe I can get some.
What do you think?
Is it worth a try?
We could try, but if there's no signal,
we come back to this camp.
Sounds good.
Let's put some more wood on the fire
so that it doesn't go out.
Do you have a signal yet?
No, not yet.
Wait.
Dammit, the phone just died.
Let's go back to camp.
Come on.
Try and calm down.
Drink this water.
I'm gonna go talk to Dave real quick
and see if we can figure
out a plan to get out of here.
Can we at least go look for Bruce?
Or at least on our way out?
I'll see what I can do, but no promises.
So what should we do?
Try to find our way to the truck?
With it being dark out,
it's not a good idea.
We should wait until daybreak.
Stay together.
And if any animals or something
comes near the camp,
I'll blow them away.
What is it, Dave?
Something definitely has you freaked out.
Man, there is nothing that I can think of
that can just pick up a body
without any drag marks
or tracks in the ground.
Okay.
Let's go back to what you thought when
you first found Bruce.
What were you thinking then?
He came across
someone and they used a pole
or something to kill him.
Some crazy lunatic.
Who else would be out here?
No one that I can think of.
But these woods, they go a long way.
Maybe it was that guy
at the cemetery earlier.
No, he didn't see him all there.
I don't think he could be capable
of something like this.
Now, after not seeing any
tracks or disturbed ground,
I'm thinking what's out there, it's not human.
Julie.
Come on, we have to help her.
No, stop.
We don't know
what we're dealing with out there.
It wouldn't be safe for us.
We have to do something.
We can't just leave her out there.
What?
We go out there and end up like Bruce?
You told her to stay.
She didn't.
I'm sorry to tell you,
but she's on her own.
What do you mean on her own?
We should stay together.
Me and you are.
She might be dead already.
How can you say that?
She's our friend, Dave.
She needs our help.
I know.
But she made her own choice.
It sucks.
I'm sorry.
But she should have stayed.
You want a water?
No.
I'm okay.
It's so quiet.
How long until daylight, do you think?
I'm not sure.
A couple hours.
Maybe we could hike out of here now.
We can put a couple lanterns together
to get some extra light.
The fire is the safest
place we need to be right now.
Whatever's out there,
they're waiting for us
to leave this camp.
I hope you're right.
Did you bring anything else
that we could use as a weapon?
No.
I wanted to bring my knife
but, I decided not to.
Get off of him! stop!
Go, go!
Julie, get up, come on.
Oh my God, Julie.
So this is a fairly
common occurrence, then?
Yes, it is.
It's a common occurrence,
and people should take note
of that before they go
spending the night out in the woods,
where they, you know,
they're not safe, like, at home.
It's dangerous out there.
Yes.
