(WAVES CRASHING)
(GIMME SHELTER
BY THE ROLLING STONES PLAYING)
Ooh, a storm is threatening
My very life today
If I don't get some shelter
Ooh yeah, I'm gonna fade away
War, children,
it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
War, children,
it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
Yeah
Ooh, see the fire is sweepin'
Our very street today
Burns like a red coal carpet
Mad bull lost your way
(SIREN WAILING)
War, children,
it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
Yeah
MELANIA: How are you?
Good afternoon.
- Happy New Year.
- Welcome aboard.
- Happy New Year.
- Thank you, nice to see you.
Thank you.
Rape, murder
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
Rape, murder yeah
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
Left turn ahead, taxi support
in drop Seven Tango.
MELANIA: Everyone wants
to know, so here it is.
Twenty days in my life.
Family, business,
philanthropy
and becoming First Lady
of the United States again.
(PLANE WHEELS SCREECH)
(BILLIE JEAN
BY MICHAEL JACKSON PLAYING)
(SIREN WAILING)
(SIREN WAILING)
(CAR HORN BLARING)
She was more like
a beauty queen
From a movie scene
I said, "Don't mind,
but what do you mean,
"I am the one
"Who will dance on the floor
in the round?"
She said I am the one
Who will dance on the floor
in the round
(WHIRRING)
People always told me,
"Be careful of what you do
"Don't go around
breakin' young girls' hearts"
Hee-hee
And mother always told me,
"Be careful of who you love
"And be careful of what you do
"'Cause the lie
becomes the truth"
Hey-ey
Billie Jean is not my lover
She's just a girl
who claims that I am the one
- Oh, baby
- (ELEVATOR BELL DINGS)
But the kid is not my son
Hoo!
MELANIA: Good evening.
(ELEVATOR DOORS CLOSE)
Hee-hee-hee
Hee-hee-hee
- Hoo!
- (ELEVATOR BELL DINGS)
Thank you so much.
She says I am the one
But the kid is not my son
No-no-no, hoo, oh!
Billie Jean is not my lover
(SONG ENDS)
(WISTFUL MUSIC PLAYING)
MELANIA: With this film,
I want to show the American
people my journey.
The transition from a private
citizen to the first lady.
Every day, I live with purpose
and devotion
orchestrating the complexities
of my life
while nurturing
my family's needs.
- Good morning, Herv.
- Good morning, Madam.
- How are you?
- MELANIA: Good, thank you.
HERV: Happy New Year.
MELANIA: Happy New Year.
- Good morning, Mrs. Trump.
- Good morning, Adam.
Hello, how are you?
- ADAM: Well, here we are.
- Here we are.
The inauguration coat.
Oh, beautiful.
Is this a black fabric,
correct? This is not mine?
- This is not your fabric...
- Yeah.
- ...your fabric is here.
- Yeah, so...
- Navy blue. Perfect.
- Navy.
- Yeah, it's much lighter.
- Much lighter.
- Yeah.
- And a real, true navy.
Yeah, true navy.
- It's very nice, beautiful.
- Great. Wonderful.
We did two different shoulders
for you.
Uh... One flat-flat, and one
with a little bit of a cap.
Well, I will try it
and see what fits me better.
- Perfect.
- Yeah?
(INAUDIBLE CONVERSATION)
Wow, beautiful.
- So...
- How do you feel?
I feel good,
it feels good, but...
We have a few changes to make.
- Okay. Okay.
- Yeah?
- It fits?
- So...
So here it needs
to be much tighter.
Yeah, so it needs
to be straight.
ADAM: It needs to be straight.
- Straight. Right here.
- MELANIA: Right...
- On the side.
- ADAM: Mmm-hmm.
HERV: She was a model.
It's fantastic because
we speak the same language.
Sometimes you have clients
and...
(MIMICS CLIENTS FUSSING)
It's not what it is with her.
It's like, "No, no, no.
(CLICKS TONGUE)
"It doesn't work here.
It works here.
"I need a quarter here...
"I need an eighth here,
I need here, here."
It's a completely different
kind of vocabulary.
Then can we do the lapel
a little bit bigger...
or not,
because we are so high?
ADAM: We could...
Because I wanna feel
like it's a coat.
A stronger lapel,
like to here...
- Yeah.
- ...but we may have to
open it a little bit more...
to accomplish that.
HERV: Yeah,
because your break
- is very high.
- ADAM: Is very, very high,
and that's...
(CONTINUES INDISTINCTLY)
MELANIA: My mother
Amalija's fashion talent
and expertise
cultivated my deep appreciation
for great design.
From her wisdom,
I grew to honor the craft,
treasure the artistry
and respect the level
of perfection required
to create timeless pieces.
I wanna take away this.
No more turtleneck.
So it will be very sharp.
I want to see only two piece
- crisscross.
- ADAM: Cross-over.
Not too heavy here.
HERV: Wait, so do you think
we can remove?
I don't know, just, um...
You wanna cut it?
ADAM: We can cut it away now.
HERV: Yeah.
I was thinking that would be
the best way...
- Yeah. Yes.
- Okay, yes.
- Let's do that, please.
- The best.
- We could cut it.
- (LAUGHS) Because...
So let's change,
and he will cut it.
Okay.
Uh... It's all one piece.
Yeah, I don't know
if we can cut it, though.
- ADAM: Cut off this?
- Because...
And we attach
at the front neckline.
- No, no. I could pin.
- ADAM: Maybe you'll have to...
MAN: We could have to
pin it back.
ADAM: Yeah,
you'll have to do that.
Yes.
We're gonna have to pin this
back on. What do you think?
Cut.
ADAM: I don't know.
It's gonna be a little tricky
to make this fixed.
But we'll do our best.
(WISTFUL MUSIC CONTINUES)
MAN: Would you just like
a pleat in here?
- ADAM: Yep.
- Plain pleat? Okay. Good.
- Thank you.
- Thank you.
MELANIA: My creative vision
is always clear
and it's my responsibility to
share the idea with my team
so they can bring it to life.
I have already started to plan
for the inauguration
making sure everything
is arranged and on schedule.
The inauguration is made up
of four days of celebrations.
Starting with
the candlelight dinner
the night before
the swearing-in ceremony.
My education in architecture
provides me
with a serious
design approach
and David brings a level
of sophistication
and detail
to everything he does.
For me, it's important
that timeless elegance shines
through every element
of the inauguration's decor,
style and design.
- Hello, David.
- DAVID: Hello there.
- How are you?
- Welcome!
Thank you.
I have a little seat for you,
and a lot of show-and-tell.
- Oh, great. Right here?
- Yeah.
What's the most
exciting part...
- Yes.
- ...of all of this today,
truly, which is amazing, um,
is no one, absolutely no one
has seen this yet.
Um...
- You will be the very first.
- (GASPS)
- Not the committee...
- Nobody.
- ...not the President...
- Fantastic.
No one has seen.
- It's beautiful.
- Quite extraordinary.
- My invitation.
- The invitation.
- Wow, this is beautiful.
- Your color red...
- Yes.
- ...which you chose,
which is so beautiful.
MELANIA: This is beautiful,
look at this paper and...
- Also, the handles.
- So pretty.
It's so beautiful. You know,
some people frame it.
DAVID: I'm sure they will
- because it's so beautiful.
- Yes, the first time when...
- MELANIA: Yes.
- Yeah, well, we have a lot
of other things...
(CLEARS THROAT) ...to go
through and show you.
So, we are at
the Building Museum.
Which, you remember, we chose.
We've used the architecture
and the color of the museum...
to sort of be the baseline
of the entire, entire design.
These beautiful shades
of grays...
and these golden colors...
which is then what we chose
for our tablecloths.
If you remember,
we chose this fabric first.
- Yeah. I see it there.
- And from that then...
we made a stripe.
The long tables
are all in the brocade.
And then the round tables,
the darker one...
- is the wide stripe.
- Yes.
The lighter one
is the narrow stripe.
Chef Cris's menu begins with
a golden egg and caviar.
And so this is how
- it will be presented.
- Presented.
And this is the first course.
So the whole weekend,
if people have to come to
several of these things,
there's one continuous theme:
white and gold.
Which is, I mean,
white and gold is you.
All right? Exactly.
When will you start
to build all of that?
You start Saturday?
We start on Saturday
the week before.
- So it's this weekend?
- Thirteenth. Next weekend.
Next weekend.
Yeah, no. In a week.
Yeah. In Monday.
- Monday. Yeah.
- Monday. You start Monday.
- (DAVID GASPS SOFTLY)
- (BOTH LAUGH)
- You didn't realize.
- Oh, my God.
This be more like, what...
Thirteen days away.
Yeah, so...
DAVID: It was, you just,
- when you just...
- MELANIA: It goes...
DAVID: You said Saturday,
I'm like...
- Saturday is crazy!
- Very fast, yes. Very fast.
The first meeting
I had with David,
he brought plates
and flowers and carpets.
I then worked with him
on every single detail.
And what you have seen today
is the result of that meeting.
- Great job. Thank you, David.
- Great seeing you. Okay.
WOMAN: Thank you.
Thank you. See you tomorrow.
(FOOTSTEPS APPROACHING)
Hello, Tham.
- Good morning. How are you?
- Hi, Mrs. Trump, how are you?
Good.
- It's nice to see you.
- Nice to see you.
- Thank you for coming. Wow!
- You're welcome.
This is amazing.
We're gonna talk about
the transition.
- January 20th.
- Yes.
Is that how do we set you up
to be comfortable,
the first family? Um...
I think there was not a lot
that was changed out, so...
MELANIA: There are many
key elements to consider
when deciding
the interior design
of the White House.
As First Lady,
I honor the importance
of the White House
and its very special place
in our nation's history.
During my last term,
I restored the Rose Garden,
built the tennis pavilion,
redesigned the bowling alley,
the Queen's room,
and upgraded Camp David.
So everything
that is an orange
is basically
in the house currently...
and the yellow marking is
something that we have to...
- find from...
- Yes.
...the White House inventory.
MELANIA: We need to decide
what kind of night stands,
night tables, cabinets.
I will ask my husband
what he likes, too,
and also for Barron's room
as well.
The last time he came in,
at age ten...
- and now he's a young man.
- Yes.
He said that he would like to
kind of have the same
when he left.
He really liked it.
So I think maybe we will
just need a bigger bed...
because he's much taller now.
And is there any, um, things
your father
would be requiring?
MELANIA: Yeah, he likes
the room before.
It will be a little bit
different this time.
Because, you know,
my mom will not be there...
so it's kind of emotional.
- But we miss her...
- Yeah.
...and miss her every day.
But we will miss her
in the White House
because she was
really part of it.
- As you know, she was...
- Yes, I know.
Everybody loved her,
and it would be a little bit
different this time.
(SOMBER INSTRUMENTAL
MUSIC PLAYS)
MELANIA: The transition
between the first families
is a logistical challenge.
They have only five hours...
- Yes.
- ...to change...
...all furniture,
whatever we requested.
So it's very
short period of time.
Making sure rugs are clean,
floors are washed,
furniture steamed, artwork
gets removed and new,
you know, artwork gets placed.
The Olympic installation
for designers.
I came here when I was two,
immigrated from Laos,
and we came here to America
'cause my family
wanted opportunities, um,
equality and everything good
about what America
represented.
And so this moment signified
everything that my parents
believed in America.
It's really
the American dream.
So this is the one, the coupe
from my home country,
and what we can do,
we could put
- a presidential seal in it.
- Yes.
Engrave it, and every glass
could have it.
It's really something special
to honor my parents.
To bring something
from my country of birth
to now home country
- in United States...
- Yes.
...will be really an honor.
(SOMBER MUSIC ENDS)
(PLAYFUL INSTRUMENTAL
MUSIC PLAYING)
HERV: I started my career
at Christian Dior.
- INTERVIEWER: Yeah.
- Balmain.
And then I moved to New York
to work for
Oscar de la Renta...
and I was a creative director
for Carolina Herrera
for 15 years.
So the training was,
like, military style.
This dress
will be immortalized
at the Smithsonian.
That's my second one.
I pinch myself.
There we are.
That's what it is.
(LA MARTIZA
BY SYLVIE VARTAN PLAYING)
- MELANIA: Voil.
- Hi, how are you?
- Hello, Jackie. How are you?
- Good. I'm good.
- It looks beautiful. Isn't it?
- Yeah.
Love it.
- HERV: Yeah.
- Incredible, yes.
It is beautiful.
- Well...
- Well...
Very chic and elegant, huh?
How do you feel, first,
at the waist?
In the waist, it's good.
So it's just, I feel...
- Is it big on the back part?
- ...a little bit... yeah.
Just, yeah,
on the back, maybe.
You will feel more secure?
- Just a touch.
- Tiny bit.
And now this needs
to go straight.
HERV: I don't,
do you mind to...
MELANIA: Yeah.
I will, like this.
- Thank you.
- But it cannot flop out.
HERV: And hold that.
First...
Let me look in the mirror,
because the mirror speaks
much better. Yes.
I think it's nice. Yeah.
It's really straight.
It's very straight.
So we're not changing this.
This is it.
HERV: Is that the shoes?
'Cause I need to cut.
The points needs to be
on the floor.
HERV: So the dress
is a little bit long...
But because I prefer
a little bit long.
Well, we would,
at the next fitting,
we will do the right length.
- (SCISSORS SNIP)
- (SONG ENDS)
No, this is nice.
It will be shorter,
but it's nice.
- You see?
- Well, it will be...
- ...slightly shorter anyway.
- Yeah. Yeah.
Just a touch. Yeah.
That, I will do it directly
- on the...
- This looks beautiful.
- HERV: It looks fabulous.
- Fantastic.
Very swish, swish, swish...
And very my colors.
Black and white.
- Yes, for sure.
- (MELANIA CHUCKLES)
- That's very you.
- Very me.
INTERVIEWER: I heard rumors
that it's an anniversary
today. Is that true?
Yes, it is anniversary.
We met
actually eight years ago.
We did, yes.
- Happy anniversary, Herv.
- Thank you so much, M.
- Here we are again.
- Many, many years...
- Yes, that's...
- ...since... fantastic.
I was introduced by
a good friend, Rgine.
Uh... She lives in Paris,
she's Belgian, and...
she's an amazing photographer
and a good friend...
and that's how
I was introduced to Herv.
And it was...
...incredible right away.
- (PHONE CAMERA SHUTTER CLICKS)
- We had the great energy
and vision, both of us.
So here we are
eight years later.
(MELANIA CHUCKLES)
- You see me in the mirror?
- Yes.
HERV: What is fascinating
about this dress,
you don't see any seam at all.
There is no seam at the waist.
There is no darts.
Everything is completely,
the construction of the dress
is completely done...
Even under the under the band.
...under the band.
So it's like, this piece
is only one piece...
It's a mystery.
It's also a mystery
how she get in
because the two bands
in the back
are going to be
directly sewn on her,
so you don't have any...
You don't give the recipe.
It's like a mystery.
I want, like, people,
when they will look at it,
when it will be
at the Smithsonian,
they will say, like,
"How did they
construct the dress?
"I don't see
any seam anywhere.
"There is no darts."
Well, everything
is underneath.
So that's the beauty.
It's like architecture.
MELANIA: Being the First Lady
requires managing
many obligations.
You have your own schedule,
the White House schedule,
and the president's schedule.
You need to be a mother,
a wife, a daughter, a friend.
It is my responsibility
to oversee
the White House operation,
starting with the East Wing,
and extending across
the full organization.
HAYLEY: ...to take Be Best and
Fostering the Future and...
MELANIA: I have already hired
my chief of staff,
and I'm interviewing
candidates
to fill
the remaining positions.
I have received a lot
of resumes from people
who would love to work
in my office...
and I need to make
my decision soon.
The people I hire
have to share my vision
because they're not
just serving my office,
they are serving the country.
Hayley, you could bring
Gabrielle in, please.
- HAYLEY: Hi, Gabrielle.
- Hi.
- Hi, great to see you.
- Nice to see you.
- Thank you for coming in.
- Yes. Thank you.
Mrs. Trump is ready to meet
with you if you're ready.
- Amazing.
- Okay, come on.
Hello, Gabrielle. How are you?
- Nice to meet you.
- Doing well, thank you,
it's an honor to meet you.
Ma'am, this is
Alexandra Veletsis.
- Hello, Alexandra.
- Hi, Mrs. Trump...
- How are you?
- ...so nice to meet you.
- Nice to meet you.
- It's my honor to be here
to interview for such
a prestigious position.
What would you change
from the last time
in my East Wing office?
Organization and detail are
definitely my strong suits.
Fostering the Future
and my Be Best initiative.
I think it's very important.
The Easter egg roll
is a great way
to kind of reintroduce
Be Best to the country.
It's not like
nine-to-five job.
- Busy, nonstop.
- Love it.
- So, all the time.
- High energy. That's me.
That's fantastic. So we will
see you in the White House.
- Wonderful.
- Thank you.
(LINE RINGING)
DONALD: Hi, honey.
MELANIA: Hi, Mr. President.
Congratulations.
- I will tell you, it's great.
- That's fantastic.
Did you watch it?
I did not. I did not.
I had meetings all day, so...
You really should try
and watch it.
- It is amazing.
- I will see it.
Yeah, I will see it
on the news.
So, but that's great.
Congratulations.
Congress certified
all the numbers.
Good. Yeah.
These numbers, nothing like it
has happened before, ever.
It's a landslide.
That's for sure.
Looks like it's gonna be
about 312 to 226.
- Yeah. That's a good one.
- It was a big win.
- I won every swing state.
- Yes.
We won the popular vote
by millions.
It was a big win.
Much bigger than anticipated.
- Very exciting.
- Okay.
I'll talk to you later, honey.
Talk to you soon.
Bye. Congrats. Bye-bye.
(SIRENS WAILING)
President Carter
passed away unexpectedly,
and we weren't supposed
to be in Washington
until the inauguration.
Hi. I'm just leaving
New York City.
Did you take off already?
(DONALD SPEAKING INDISTINCTLY)
Yeah, I'm going on the plane
now, so we will meet...
I will meet you in Andrews,
and I hop in your car. Okay?
(SOMBER INSTRUMENTAL
MUSIC PLAYING)
I'm meeting my husband
in Washington, D.C.
for the funeral service
of President Carter.
The funeral falls on a day
that weighs heavy on my heart.
January 9th
is the day my mother
passed away one year ago.
It was one of those days
that you know will come,
but you can never
truly prepare for.
The only thing we can do is
cherish the moments we have
with our family and loved ones
while they are still with us.
(SOMBER INSTRUMENTAL
MUSIC CONTINUES)
Today we meet
with the Carter family,
and tomorrow
we will attend the funeral.
Hi, Honey. Hello.
Honey, you're so beautiful.
You look like a movie star.
- Yes!
- Well,
you're back in Washington.
Come on. How beautiful.
- Yeah, beautiful.
- Come on, I'll walk you over.
MELANIA: How is Barron?
Did you see Barron?
DONALD: Yeah. I was with him
all the time.
- He was with me before I left.
- MELANIA: Yes?
- DONALD: He stays...
- I know, he was up.
- No, he stays in the room.
- MELANIA: No, no, he was up.
I, he called me.
DONALD:
We had funny conversations.
It's cute, you know.
We have cute conversations.
MELANIA: Yeah, I love him.
He's an incredible mind.
(SOMBER INSTRUMENTAL
MUSIC CONTINUES)
- (CAR HORNS BLARING)
- (SIRENS WAILING)
MALE NEWSREADER: ...and more
have been destroyed,
businesses and schools...
Spot fires
have started overnight,
including the Hollywood sign...
MAN: Good morning,
Mr. President.
Good morning, First Lady.
- Good morning.
- Hello.
NEWSREADER: Number one,
$18 million cut
from the fire budget,
and the mayor was warned...
(ELEVATOR BELL DINGS)
MELANIA: Grief comes in waves
when you lose someone
who means so much to you.
I will be sitting in
the Washington Cathedral
paying respect
to President Carter.
But I know my beloved mother
will be on my mind.
DONALD: So I had
a great mother-in-law.
She was a spectacular woman,
uh, a beautiful woman,
inside and out,
and today is the one-year
anniversary of her death,
and we miss her.
And I don't want
to say it too loud
because this one
had a hard time with that.
(SIRENS WAILING)
(SOMBER INSTRUMENTAL
MUSIC CONTINUES)
(IN SLOVENE) Melania's mom
was a fashion designer.
MELANIA: From a young age,
I watched
my mother's hands at work.
Her patience
and skill taught me
that beauty
comes from dedication...
and that even
the smallest detail matters.
with my darling Amalija
for 57 years. And...
(CONTINUES INDISTINCTLY)
MELANIA: The love my parents
shared for over 60 years
was the foundation
of our home.
It shaped me and taught me
what lasting love looks like.
Everything I am began
with them.
I cherish all the incredible
memories I have of my mother.
There are moments
that happen every day
that remind me of her.
Not a day goes by that I don't
think about my beloved mother.
Dr. King
used to say that greatness
is characterized by
antithesis strongly marked.
You've got to have
a tough mind
and a tender heart.
My mother passed away
in the evening.
I'm planning to go
to St. Patrick's Cathedral
when I'm back in New York.
I will honor her,
light a candle for her,
have a quiet moment
to myself,
and I'm sure
she will be with me
as she is every single day.
(MELANCHOLIC INSTRUMENTAL
MUSIC CONTINUES)
- (MUSIC ENDS)
- (SIRENS WAILING)
MELANIA: Thanks.
- MELANIA: Good evening.
- Welcome.
Welcome, Mrs. Trump.
- Welcome, Mrs. Trump.
- How are you?
- Yes.
- Thank you for having me.
- You're welcome...
- Thank you so much.
- ...you're very welcome.
- It's beautiful.
MELANIA: My beloved mother
was the richest thread
in my life.
Weaving warmth,
wisdom, and grace
into every moment we shared.
Mourning the loss of my mother
will always remain.
The mourning never leaves.
It simply lives alongside me.
(MELANIA BREATHES DEEPLY,
SIGHS)
(AMAZING GRACE
BY ARETHA FRANKLIN PLAYING)
Was blind
But now
(MELANIA SIGHS)
I
See
(ARETHA VOCALIZES)

How sweet

The sound
That

MELANIA: My mother's
quiet strength
and firm devotion
to her family
shaped me into the person
I am today,
and I strive to embody
these qualities
in my own life,
knowing that her legacy
lives on through me.
Yes. We're gonna offer
a holy mass for your mother.
Oh, that's so nice.
- Thank you so much.
- Yeah. For your mother.
- I appreciate it.
- Yeah, yeah.
She was special.
Sure, to have you
as a daughter...
It's one year, so I said
I need to come here.
- Yes.
- She came here often
- when she was in New York.
- She did?
Yeah. She came here often,
so it's a special place.
It's a comfortable place
- for a lot of people.
- Yes, it is.
- Be well.
- Thank you. You too.
- Would you like a blessing?
- Yes, I would love to.
Okay. May Almighty God
bless you
and fill you
with the Holy Spirit
filled with peace,
strength, and faith,
and may your beloved mother
be in the joy of heaven
for all of eternity.
And may Almighty God bless you
and your family
in the name of the Father
and the Son
and the Holy Spirit.
- Amen.
- Amen.
Thank you.
(ARETHA FRANKLIN'S
AMAZING GRACE CONTINUES)
(SIRENS WAILING)
(SONG ENDS)
(LAPTOP CALL NOTIFICATION
BEEPING)

- BRIGITTE: Hello, Melania.
Hello, Brigitte. How are you?
Very well.
I'm so happy to see you.
Nice to see you, too.
After a long time.
Welcome back.
It will be very important...
MELANIA: Be Best: Fostering
the Future's original mission
is to safeguard
our children
and provide them
with the means to flourish.
Mrs. Macron shares this vision
with me.
I know you are going to go on
with your program.
If I remember, you have
the program Be Best?
Yes.
After the White House, uh,
I continue my
Be Best initiative.
Do you know that
in United States,
an average child spend
eight hours on the screen.
Mental health, anxiety
is just growing
all around the world
because of cyberbullying.
I know that you established
a cyberbullying initiative.
- How is that?
- Great.
Is it successful in France?
Did you have much success?
(IN FRENCH) I can explain
to you what we're doing
in schools against harassment.
No mobile phones
until the age of 11.
And at 11,
no Internet connection
on their mobile phone.
And when they want
to join social networks,
they have to prove that they
are between 13 and 15.
Evidence is required.
And Melania,
what I very much would like
to work on together,
is preventive action.
I need help in creating
the message together.
My next step and my next goal
is to foster relationship
and work on it
with like-minded leaders
and establish coalition.
And when we do,
I hope you will join me.
I go everywhere with you.
- (MELANIA CHUCKLES)
- No problem.
That's good.
Because we are connected
on many subject.
- Yes, we are. We are.
- We are. We are.
I'm sure that things
are going to move.
I am sure of that.
Because you are very strong.
You are very strong.
MALE REPORTER: You have
5,000 destroyed structures,
at least, here at this
Pacific Palisades fire.
We can pan down here,
every single house
on this street here,
Rimmer, has been
completely wiped out.
It's just the foundations.
It's just stunning to see.
Really, some of
the only things
we're seeing left intact
with these houses, Keith,
you can show it looks like,
we've seen this with several
of the houses we've passed by.
The water mains are broken.
And we know there were...
MELANIA: It is impossible
to see these images
and not be horrified
at the utter devastation
and catastrophic loss.
I think about the families,
the children
who have lost everything,
the homes, the schools,
all the structures
that no longer exist.
It's unimaginable.
REPORTER: And Rimmer
is wiped out.
These homes
are higher up on the hills.
They were likely some of
the first homes impacted
when these flames
came rushing through here.
- (SIREN WAILS DISTANTLY)
- (CAR HORNS HONK)
I'm meeting Aviva Siegel,
who has also endured
the unimaginable.
Aviva is from Israel.
She was kidnapped by Hamas
and held hostage for 51 days
in Gaza.
- (ELEVATOR BELL DINGS)
- Her husband, Keith,
is still being held captive
by Hamas.
It's so heartbreaking.
What she went through,
it's horrific.
All right, turn around,
please for me.
I am just a simple person
from a simple world
that loves my husband.
We were kidnapped by Hamas
on October 7, 2023.
I'm talking for the hostages
that are still there
that are begging to get out.
(DOOR OPENS)
Aviva. Hello.
Nice to meet you.
Mmm. Oh.
Come, let's go sit down.
Let's talk. (SIGHS)
It's my 11th time
coming to United States.
Do you have any knowledge
of your husband, Keith?
So I know that he's alive,
and I know that there's
at least 50 other hostages
that are just waiting
to get out of there.
We were together for 50 days,
and then the last day,
they took me
and they said Israel
had a deal with Hamas
to release women
and children
and I begged them that Keith
has to come with me.
I've been married
for nearly 44 years.
And to leave Keith there
was just too much for me.
Yeah, I see you have
- a shirt and...
- Yes.
...picture of him.
He looks beautiful.
I will pray
that he doesn't suffer.
And we are
only a few days away
that my husband
will be in office.
I know that once
he's commander in chief,
I know that's his priority.
- I'm sure of it, so...
- Thank you.
I'm lucky that I'm alive,
because one of the days,
they took us
underneath the ground,
and they just left us there,
with no food,
no water, no oxygen.
And Keith looked at me,
and he said that he feels
that he can't breathe.
And I was scared.
I was scared for my life,
and I was scared
to look at Keith,
because I was scared
to look at him dead.
I'm sure Keith was feeling
for you as well
and scared
for your well-being.
- (VOICE BREAKING) I'm sorry
- It's okay. It's okay.
We will do the best, okay...
- You know that Keith...
- ...to bring Keith home.
- ...was 100% for me.
- Of course.
But I'm not there now
for Keith.
You are. You are.
- I'm not.
- You are, fighting for him.
That's what he wants.
So you're not quiet
and just crying at home.
- Yeah.
- You know?
And you should,
because don't keep it inside.
Because that's
the worst for...
(CONTINUES INDISTINCTLY)
I love people.
I love everybody.
Doesn't matter
if they from Gaza
or from any place
in the world.
I love people
that are good people.
Only love should be here.
No hate should be
anywhere in this world.
There's too much hate.
MELANIA: I will always use
my influence and power
to fight for those in need.
(ELEVATOR BELL DINGS)
Meeting Aviva
was very emotional.
You don't forget those people.
Those people
come home with you,
and you remember them.
And they never leave you.
MALE PRESS OFFICIAL:
One of the big,
I would call him probably the
biggest Hollywood reporter,
he writes for Puck,
his name is Matt Belloni,
reached out and asked
if I knew anyone,
um, that he could
speak to about
the First Lady's
new Amazon deal...
- HAYLEY: Mmm-hmm.
- ...and he already reached out
- to Amazon.
- Okay.
He's not a bad guy.
He, he's an actual
Hollywood reporter.
He doesn't cover politics.
It's totally up to you
if you want me
to introduce you or not.
What is his exact request?
His exact request was...
"I would like to understand
how this all came together."
And if there's anything
that's interesting
about the documentary.
Okay, can I give you my email?
And if you don't mind shooting
that over to me,
I can get you in touch
with the right person.
INTERVIEWER: You're not
connecting them
to anybody, right?
- Those Hollywood people?
- No.
INTERVIEWER:
Do you trust them?
Absolutely not.
Really quickly. Um...
Can I talk to you
about the phone call tomorrow?
Do you know how they're
describing it to be different?
Were you on that email today?
Okay, yeah. I do wanna
touch base with them
just to make sure
that they're tracking...
Credentialing process through
Secret Service...
All set. They're getting
those emails out.
They should have received
an email last night
regarding that.
And they're working on
confirming hotel rooms now.
MELANIA: Only five days left
to the inauguration.
My creative vision has
reached its final version,
exactly as I imagined.
Hello, Adam.
Hello, Herv. Hello.
- ADAM: Hello, Mrs. Trump.
- How are you? Nice to see you.
- How are you feeling...
- Good.
...on the coat?
- Very nice.
- Tack that down.
MELANIA: It fits perfect.
I love the lapel.
It's just big enough.
I think proportions
are beautiful.
The length is great.
ADAM: It's looking very crisp.
Just one thing
about the blouse, if we can.
- ADAM: Yes, please. Of course.
- I would like to
make this a little bit
sharper. More...
- Tension, tighter.
- Tension, tighter.
ADAM: Understood. Okay.
MELANIA: Yes.
Also on the back, can we do
just a touch higher?
A touch higher,
and it's too big.
- MELANIA: Huh?
- It's too big as well.
It's too big.
But a touch, now it goes down.
It does. You're right.
We need to put... yeah.
We need to put
a little bit higher.
Like half?
Half inch, half inch.
- So, Herv. Hat.
- HERV: For the hat.
What do you think
if we do not so wide?
Okay let me... hold on.
MELANIA: A little bit
less than half,
because then it's too thin.
HERV: But we have to do this
to find the proportion.
MELANIA: You see
how round is here?
HERV: Yes.
Can that be straight?
This is a little bit
wiggly-wobbly.
- HERV: Okay. Yes, Madam.
- So it needs to be
- really sharp.
- Sharp.
Okay.
- (ELEVATOR BELL DINGS)
- (SPEAKING INAUDIBLY)
MELANIA: At this stage,
I'm laser-focused
on what remains to be done
before the big move
back to D.C.
It's essential
to stay mentally strong
with so many moving parts
in front of me and my family.
But first I'm heading
to Mar-a-Lago
to meet up with my husband
the last stop
before the inauguration.
(CAR INDICATORS
CLICKING RHYTHMICALLY)
MAN: (ON RADIO) All right,
everything is secure.
INTERVIEWER: Who is your
favorite recording artist?
MELANIA: Michael Jackson.
INTERVIEWER: Well,
what Michael Jackson song
is your favorite?
- Billie Jean.
- Oh, wow.
Was so many of them.
It's hard to... Thriller.
- Yeah.
- It's hard to...
Pick. Yeah, because there's
so many good ones.
You know, I met him here
in New York with Donald.
He was very sweet, very nice.
(BILLIE JEAN
PLAYING ON CAR STEREO)
I love that one.
INTERVIEWER: You must have
been a teenager
- when...
- Yeah, of course.
- I have the LP at home.
- (BOTH LAUGHING)
She was more like
a beauty queen...
It's so beautiful, like
his picture on it, you know?
...do you mean I am the one
INTERVIEWER:
You remember the words?
(SINGING) Who will dance
on the floor in the round
INTERVIEWER:
This is my favorite part.
(SINGING OUT OF TUNE)
People always told me,
"Be careful what you do
"Don't go around
breakin' young girls'
"Hearts"
Hee-hee
And mother always told me,
MELANIA: (SINGING)
"Be careful who you love
"And be careful of what you do
"'Cause the lie
becomes the truth"
Hey-hey
- Billie Jean
- Billie Jean is not my lover
She's just a girl who
...claims that I am the one
- Kid is not my son
- Not my son
INTERVIEWER: Are we doing
Carpool Karaoke with Melania?
(LAUGHING) You think
I'm a singer now? No.
What else?
Billie Jean is not my lover
She's just a girl who claims
that I am the one
You know
what you did to me, baby
But the kid is not my son
- (SONG ENDS)
- MELANIA: Thank you so much.
- Bye.
- (INDISTINCT CHATTER)
This is my last flight
as a private citizen...
before stepping back into
a very public life.
(TRUE BY SPANDAU BALLET PLAYS)
After the inauguration,
everything becomes
more structured,
more eyes, more pressure,
fewer quiet moments.
I carry the idea of home
within myself
as I often move from New York
to Palm Beach
to Washington, D.C.
Essentially, I find peace
in each location.
Mar-a-Lago is my refuge
from the outside world,
a place where I can exhale.
Good night.
It is where Barron
took his swim lessons
with his grandfather,
played golf with his father,
and took his first
tennis lesson with me.
Mar-a-Lago
is more than a home...
It is warmth, sunshine,
family, and friends.
(CALMING MUSIC PLAYING)
You're never too young
to set your goals.
I started to take my career
as a model very seriously
as a teenager in Slovenia.
Making the decision
to follow my dream
and move to Milan
and Paris for modeling
was not simple.
I always had very high
personal standards
for achievement,
which remains with me today.
Now that I will be
First Lady again,
I fully intend
to break old norms
to elevate the position.
She represents
the country so beautifully,
and in that respect,
I don't think a lot of people
have understood it.
As the First Lady, the most
meaningful thing to me
is to be a positive influence
on the lives of Americans
and to be an inspiring force
in the world.
In that spirit, I'm meeting
with Her Majesty,
Queen Rania,
the Queen of Jordan,
to discuss the well-being
of children around the world
and how we can help them.
How are you?
- Perfect.
- How's everything?
How's Barron?
- He's doing very well. Yes.
- Is he...
Where is he going
to school now?
MELANIA:
Stern School of Business
- at New York University.
- QUEEN RANIA: Okay.
How are your children?
MELANIA: My goal
is to establish a coalition
with other world leaders
to help children.
Are you going to be resuming
some of the programs
you started in the first term?
I will continue Be Best,
and I will expand.
With the world leaders,
if we group together...
- Yeah.
- ...I feel like
we have a voice.
I know you have,
also, the foundations.
It's the same
with me here, I...
After the White House,
I established
Fostering the Future
- initiative.
- Mmm-hmm.
So I have students
in the universities
that I sponsor
and give them scholarships.
Yeah, about 20 years ago,
I started a foundation
called Aman Future
for Orphans
and we sponsor scholarships,
training courses,
career opportunities
just to make them feel like
they're part of a family.
And, actually,
just like that...
MELANIA: It is inspiring
to see that we are
both passionate
about helping foster children
get an education.
Only three percent
of the children
from foster communities
go to universities.
We need to do better.
We need to educate
our next generation,
our next leaders.
Who is coming,
and I guess we will start.
This inauguration marks
a new era for our nation,
but the most important thing
is that it is a new beginning
and the American spirit
is being refilled
with hope and optimism.
- Monday, January 20th.
- That's the big day, right?
That's the big day.
So we'll start that day
leaving Blair House
with the family
and heading over
to St. John's Church.
You and the First Lady
will head over
to the White House,
where you will do
a greeting and a tea
with President Biden.
This is a way
for everybody to marry up,
to head
to the Capitol together.
Yeah, so you will drive
- with President Biden.
- JUSTIN: Yeah.
You'll be with
President Biden and...
He's still pissed.
It'll be an interesting drive.
- JUSTIN: Yeah.
- (MELANIA CHUCKLES)
Once you're done
with the swearing in, uh,
we'll head back over
to the eastern front
of the Capitol...
You have a good dress?
You have a nice dress?
This dress
blew everybody away.
JUSTIN: Yeah.
Can you compete with it?
- Huh?
- Watch.
- A big deal.
- You will see.
But we are competing
with the championship game?
We are competing,
- and we've...
- How did that happen?
(JUSTIN SIGHS, STAMMERS)
I'm unsure, sir.
Well, we always had this date,
'cause this date's
been here for
hundreds of years.
So they put a game.
We're working extremely
closely with the networks.
I know, but why did
they have to put
the National Championship
at the same time?
JUSTIN: Unclear. Unclear.
They probably
did it on purpose.
All right, let's go.
JUSTIN: So the parade,
a standard Presidential parade
at this point.
I shouldn't say standard.
It's a little bit bigger
and a little bit better
than it has been in the past.
We will head
from the eastern front
of the Capitol, here
straight down Constitution,
and then
hit Pennsylvania Avenue.
All down Pennsylvania Avenue,
starting at
John Marshall Park.
There'll be bleachers,
there'll be screens,
there'll be audio towers
throughout there.
Do they have any idea
how many people are coming?
JUSTIN: Well, we're planning
for a million.
How did this area get secure?
Do everybody get frisked?
- Correct.
- MELANIA: Are we
getting out of the car?
(JUSTIN STAMMERS)
MAN: There will be a potential
for a couple places
to get out of the car,
but we'd like
to talk about that off camera.
- But... yeah.
- MELANIA: Okay,
you don't show me where.
I just wanna know
if we're going out
or not, so...
What're you doing?
MAN: It's your decision
to get out.
- We will prepare...
- Yeah.
...for multiple places
- for you to do that.
- MELANIA: Mmm-hmm.
- Is it safe?
- It is safe.
- SEAN: Yes.
- You think so?
MAN: Yes, sir. Absolutely.
Because if we go out,
I think people will already
know where we will go out.
So it's kind of like,
how could that be safe?
Especially with the last year,
what's going on and stuff.
I have concerns, honestly,
and I know Barron
will not go out of the car.
I respect that.
That's his decision.
We need to talk about it.
Are we doing it or not? So...
- You'll discuss it.
- We will discuss that. Okay?
JUSTIN: So you're
gonna go back,
spend the night
at the White House
after those balls.
And when do I make America
great again?
I have to get to work, right?
JUSTIN: Yep. You'll be back
to the White House by one.
And then...
- And then we start.
- JUSTIN: And you start.
- And then we begin.
- JUSTIN: Yep.
We begin straightening out
the nation.
JUSTIN: We're all
very grateful.
Okay. Let's go.
(WAVES CRASHING)
(EVERYBODY WANTS TO RULE THE
WORLD INSTRUMENTAL PLAYING)
DONALD: What a group.
What a payroll I have.
- Wow.
- (STAFF LAUGH)
We appreciate the job
you do at Mar-a-Lago.
It's been fantastic.
So I want to just thank
all of you.
And remember, the customer
is always right. Right?
Thank you all very much.
Thank you.
Thank you. Thank you.
(BYSTANDERS CHEERING)
MELANIA: We are
traveling together
as a family
to the inauguration.
There is so much joy
and anticipation
for the future.
Sometimes it is difficult
to stay present
with all that's going on.
But I want to remember this
to enjoy every second.
My father always filmed
these special moments
when I was a child.
He showed me the world
through his lens.
The essence of living life
with passion and purpose.
(CAMERA SHUTTERS CLICKING)
(SIRENS WAILING)
(MUSIC ENDS)
We are staying
at the Blair House
for the inauguration.
WOMAN: Sir, welcome
to Blair House.
DONALD: Good evening.
MELANIA: Blair House has been
central to American politics
since it was built in 1824.
It is an American tradition
for every incoming president
to stay here.
(BIRDS CHIRPING)
(SOMBER INSTRUMENTAL PLAYING)
Today we are attending
a wreath-laying ceremony
at Arlington Cemetery,
and visiting the graves
of three service members
who died during an attack
as they worked
to evacuate people
from Afghanistan
on August 26, 2021.
Arlington is not just
a sacred burial ground
it's the soul of our nation.
American soldiers
from every generation
and every walk of life,
forever together.
Making our way towards
the Tomb
of the Unknown Soldier,
I think about the families
of Darin Hoover
and Nicole Gee
of the Marine Corps,
and Ryan Knauss of the Army.
Their memories are being
honored here today
at this tomb
that holds no name,
but speaks for all
who never came home.
(SOMBER INSTRUMENTAL
CONTINUES)
OFFICER: Present... arms!
(CAMERA SHUTTERS CLICKING)
(INDISTINCT CHATTER)
(SOMBER INSTRUMENTAL
CONTINUES)
WOMAN: You met them
when they were much smaller.
MAN: Right,
I remember that, too.
WOMAN: So... yes.
You talked about...
(CONTINUES INDISTINCTLY)
Here, remember?
MELANIA: Each headstone
tells a story of courage,
of love of country...
and of a life given in service
to something greater
than oneself.
America.
It is a powerful reminder
that freedom is not free.
As First Lady,
I carry each of their memories
in my heart
with humility and gratitude.
(SIRENS WAILING)
(INDISTINCT CHATTER)
Hello, everybody.
It's a little wet out there...
- In case you haven't noticed.
- MELANIA: It is.
Yeah, it's okay.
We now have a few hours
before we have to leave...
for the candlelight dinner
at the National
Building Museum.
Good evening, Herv.
HERV: I'm gonna leave this
with you.
Thank you.
One of my goals is to evolve
the role of First Lady
beyond formal social duties.
(UPBEAT INSTRUMENTAL
MUSIC PLAYING)
(LIVELY INDISTINCT CHATTER)
ANNOUNCER:
Ladies and gentlemen,
please welcome
President Donald J. Trump...
and Mrs. Melania Trump.
(AUDIENCE CHEERING,
APPLAUDING)
DONALD: Thank you
very much, everybody.
It's been a very big day,
and tomorrow is going to be
an even bigger day.
So as we begin
this exciting new chapter,
I especially want to thank
my family...
starting with our great
First Lady, Melania.
Thank you, Melania.
(CHEERS AND APPLAUSE)
ANNOUNCER: Please join us
as Pastor Robert Jeffress
leads us in a blessing.
ROBERT: Let's bow together
in prayer. May we?
Father, we come before you
the one true God,
the only God,
the one who scripture says
establishes kings
and removes kings.
We thank you that you
answered the prayers
of millions of people
around the globe
and made President Trump
our leader again.
Grant him success
in everything that he does.
Amen.
Amen.
(INDISTINCT CHATTER)
MELANIA:
The candlelight dinner
is not a traditional part
of every inauguration.
But this year we wanted
to create something special.
It's so powerful
to see this room
come to life tonight.
Candlelight, black-tie
and my complete
creative vision,
filled with the elegance
and sophistication
of our donors.
They are truly
the driving force
behind the campaign
and its philosophy.
The reason our victory
is possible.
I'm grateful to David
and his team,
not just for the beauty
of the evening,
but for the care
and dedication
that went into every step
of planning it.
(SIREN WAILING)
Inauguration Day
has finally arrived.
As America's First Lady,
the real nobility
is in becoming stronger
than the person I was
yesterday.
This strength
cannot come from the title.
It's a quiet force
from within.
(RIVETING CLASSICAL
INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC PLAYING)
The transition
of the first families
is already underway.
The Bidens' personal
possessions are being
moved out
by the White House staff...
but ours cannot go in
before 12:01,
when my husband is sworn in
as the 47th President
of the United States.
- Don't touch this.
- No, because...
Please cut it.
- But it feels secure?
- It sizzles.
(INSTRUMENTAL CONTINUES)
(INDISTINCT CHATTER)
MAN: You want to cut this?
Thank you, everybody.
- We're going downstairs.
- Are you gonna take it?
- Later.
- Okay.
- Thank you.
- Bye.
Big day.
It's a big day.
Well, thank you
very much, everybody.
We'll be back a lot.
We're gonna send people here
like you wouldn't believe,
big tippers like me.
(STAFF LAUGH)
I left a tip up there,
so whoever goes first.
Let me just sign this sucker.
Does anybody know
our First Lady?
That's a great job.
Okay. You've seen that
signature before, I think?
Thank you very much.
We're gonna
knock 'em dead today.
PHOTOGRAPHER: Sir, we're gonna
do a photo with the staff.
Okay. Well, where am I gonna
go? Here. Go in here?
PHOTOGRAPHER: Just slide
right over. Perfect.
And then go
right in the middle.
Nice and tall.
(SOMBER INSTRUMENTAL
MUSIC PLAYING)
Awesome. And right here, sir,
in three, two, one.
- Thank you very much.
- Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you very much.
I'm very proud of Barron.
From an early age,
he was forced to learn
about the importance
of maintaining composure,
integrity,
and self-discipline.
Although I guide him,
it's very important,
that he lives the life
that he wants to live.
I'm confident that his values
of truth and respect
for others
will lead him
to the ultimate success.
A fulfilled life with
his own beautiful family.
(SOMBER INSTRUMENTAL
CONTINUES)
REPORTER 1: President Biden...
REPORTER 2: President Biden!
Final Message
for President Trump
or request, advice?
Will America survive
the next President?
(INDISTINCT CLAMORING)
(SOMBER INSTRUMENTAL
CONTINUES)
JAKE: It's only been... This
will be the second time...
...of Amazon, Tim Cook,
CEO of Apple,
and Elon Musk from X...
ANNOUNCER:
Ladies and gentlemen,
the 42nd President
of the United States,
the honorable
William J. Clinton.
The 43rd President
of the United States,
the honorable George W. Bush.
The 44th President
of the United States,
the honorable Barack H. Obama.
Ladies and gentlemen,
the children of
President-elect Trump.
DANA: There's his children.
JAKE: Barron was 10
when his father
first entered
the White House in 2017.
He's now a college freshman,
and yes, he's very tall.
GLORIA: It's hard to miss
Barron Trump.
JAKE: Dana Bash, just looking
at Barron Trump, I think 6'5".
DANA: At least, at least.
He's got
two very tall parents.
JAKE: 6'9", I'm told.
And obviously
throughout the room
are various
Trump grandchildren
in addition
to the Trump adults
and children as well.
DANA: That's Barron's
grandfather,
Melania Trump's father.
She, of course,
lost her mother last year,
just to the left of...
JAKE: Next to JD Vance's mom.
DANA: In between JD Vance's

(WISTFUL INSTRUMENTAL

(CAMERA SHUTTERS CLICKING)
MELANIA: Walking into
the Capitol's rotunda,
I felt the weight of history
intertwined with my own journey
as an immigrant, a reminder
of why I respect this nation
so deeply.
Everyone should do
what they can
to protect
our individual rights.
Never take them for granted,
because in the end,
no matter where we come from,
we are bound
by the same humanity.
(WISTFUL MUSIC CONTINUES)
Here we go again.
ANNOUNCER:
Ladies and gentlemen,
Mrs. Melania Trump.
(PEOPLE CHEERING)

USA! USA! USA! USA!
I, Donald John Trump,
do solemnly swear...
...that I will
faithfully execute...
...that I will
faithfully execute...
...the Office of President
of the United States...
...the Office of President
of the United States...
...and will,
to the best of my ability...
...and will,
to the best of my ability...
...preserve,
protect, and defend...
...preserve,
protect, and defend...
...the Constitution
of the United States...
...the Constitution
of the United States...
- So help me God.
- So help me God.
Congratulations,
Mr. President.
DONALD: Thank you
very much, everybody.
The golden age of America
begins right now.
(CHEERS AND APPLAUSE)
From this day forward,
our country will flourish
and be respected again,
all over the world.
We will be the envy
of every nation
and we will not
allow ourselves
to be taken advantage of.
MELANIA: Good morning.
MAN: Good morning, Mrs. Trump.
MELANIA: Hi. Morning.
ADVISORS: Hello.
MELANIA: I think
we need to go.
DONALD: Yeah, we do, honey.
You know, I'm just doing
the speech for tomorrow.
Just sit down
for one second, honey.
- To your left.
- Over there.
You can come in, come on in.
I will restore fair and equal,
impartial justice
under the constitutional
rule of law.
We will restore fair, equal,
and impartial justice
under the constitutional
rule of law.
(CHEERS AND APPLAUSE)
My proudest legacy
will be that of peacemaker.
Not warmonger.
I don't like
the word "monger."
And unifier,
peacemaker and unifier.
MAN: Okay.
Don't put that
on tape, please.
- (ADVISORS CHUCKLE)
- MELANIA: Please do.
DONALD: The wife
gave me a good idea.
Don't put it,
please don't put it.
My proudest legacy
will be that of peacemaker
and unifier.
Yeah.
My proudest legacy
will be that
of a peacemaker and unifier.
(CHEERS AND APPLAUSE)
The future is ours,
and our golden age
has just begun.
Thank you. God bless America.
Thank you all. Thank you.
(CHEERS AND APPLAUSE)
(INDISTINCT LAUGHTER, CHATTER)
MELANIA: Being part of
a historic moment like this,
reminds you
what an honor it is
to stand before
all those people
in a building that holds
so much
of the country's story.
Its struggles,
its progress, its hope.
Walking through
the Capitol Crypt
reminds me
how much my reverence
of our nation's military
is rooted in their mission
to defend the Constitution.
Our rights.
Being hand-in-hand
with my husband
at this moment
is very emotional.
Nobody has endured what he has
over the past few years.
People tried to murder him,
incarcerate him, slander him.
And here he is.
I'm so very proud.
MAN: ...departure for
just one moment, please.
The first thing
that will happen
is you will see toe marks
on the ground.
This will be the order
in which you proceed out.
MELANIA: And now, we take part
in another tradition.
- (INDISTINCT CHATTER)
- (CAMERA SHUTTERS CLICKING)
And then
we will have you, sir,
ma'am, President Biden,
Dr. Biden.
You will walk
to your helicopter
which is almost dead ahead
of where you will be standing.
At that point, when you get
to the helicopter,
there is a customary goodbye.
At that point, sir, ma'am,
you will be escorted
back to your positions
directly in front.
At that point in time,
there is a customary wave,
however,
because of how close
you will be
to the helicopters,
we do need to get
the four of you inside
for its departure.
(HELICOPTER ENGINES
POWERING UP)
MELANIA: The traditional
inaugural luncheon
is held in the Statuary Hall
of the Capitol.
It's Congress's way
of formally welcoming
the new President
and the First Lady.
(INDISTINCT LAUGHTER, CHATTER)
As First Lady,
I constantly think about
how our lawmakers
can build dignity,
create equal opportunity
and foster compassion
through the unity
of all Americans.
(INAUDIBLE CONVERSATION)
We spent much of the day
walking through the Capitol,
from one ceremony
to the next.
That meant more time
to take in the surroundings,
exchange smiles
with the Capitol staff,
and of course, spend
a little extra time in heels.
REPORTER: Mr. President, will
you issue a blanket pardon
to the January 6 prisoners?
(INAUDIBLE CONVERSATION)
This year, instead of
the traditional parade
through Washington, D.C.,
the public celebration
was held
inside the Capital One Arena.
The extreme cold
made it a practical decision.
But in truth, I was relieved.
Being in a more secure
and closed space
brought a certain
peace of mind.
(PEOPLE CHEERING)
ANNOUNCER:
Ladies and gentlemen,
please welcome
the 47th President
of the United States
of America,
Donald J. Trump.
Accompanied by the First Lady,
Mrs. Melania Trump.
- (ALL CHEERING)
- (HAIL TO THE CHIEF PLAYING)
MELANIA: I couldn't wait
to celebrate our future
and the promise
of the new presidency
with the American people.
It is the people
who ultimately determine
the destiny of our nation.
AUDIENCE: (CHANTING)
USA, USA, USA...
MELANIA: Upon entering,
Barron, Donald and I felt
the emotion, the electricity
and the love of our
biggest fans, Americans.
(ALL CHEERING)
Mean Green!
DONALD: I do want
to thank my wonderful family
for being here,
especially my beautiful wife,
our First Lady, Melania.
(ALL CHEERING)
And then I have a very tall
son named Barron.
Has anyone ever heard of him?
(ALL CHEERING)
MELANIA: Barron is
a very confident young man.
And he received quite
a reception at the arena.
(IT'S A MAN'S MAN'S MAN'S
WORLD BY JAMES BROWN PLAYING)
AUDIENCE: (CHANTING)
Barron! Barron! Barron!
But it wouldn't be nothing
Without a woman or a girl
Said one more time
This is a man's world
This is a man's world
(CAMERA SHUTTERS CLICKING)
But it wouldn't be nothing
MALE PRESS MEMBER:
Right here, Mr. President...
Hello, everyone. Thank you.
MELANIA: After so much change
and movement
during the campaign,
it was comforting to walk back
into a place we already knew.
Where all the familiar faces
welcomed my family
with such warmth.
They made it seem
like no time had passed,
and that made
all the difference,
especially for Barron.
He was so young
the last time we lived here.
Thank you so much. Wow. Hello.
I will see you later, okay?
- Yes. See you.
- Later.
Perfect.
REPORTER: (ON TV)
Some of their failure,
Donald Trump
would not be President...
Hello. How are you?
It's nice to be back.
Looks nice. I see you soon.
(WHIMSICAL MUSIC PLAYING)
MELANIA: All of the official
ceremonies are over.
It is time for
the inaugural balls.
The Commander-in-chief Ball
for the military...
The Liberty Ball
and the Starlight Ball,
which will be our last stop.
(SIRENS WAILING)
MAN: (SINGING)
...wave
O'er the land of the free
And the home
Of the brave

(THEN HE KISSED ME
BY THE CRYSTALS PLAYING)
Well, he walked up to me
And he asked me
if I wanted to dance
He looked kind of nice
And so I said
I might take a chance
When he danced,
he held me tight
And when he walked me home
that night
All the stars
were shining bright
And then he kissed me
And then he kissed me
And then he kissed me
(SOMBER INSTRUMENTAL
MUSIC PLAYING)
MELANIA: Today was
so rich with meaning,
and since each moment
was historic
and filled with purpose,
time no longer mattered.
Being awake
for 22 hours straight
felt like nothing,
knowing that
I was living a day
which would be remembered
forever.
MELANIA: Something here.
DONALD: Is this
your furniture?
MELANIA: Yeah. See it?
DONALD: Looks great,
- doesn't it?
- MELANIA: Yeah.
MELANIA: Somebody's here.
DONALD: Hello, fellas.
MELANIA: Hello.
(INDISTINCT CONVERSATION)
(MOUTHING)
DONALD: We can put it right
under the desk, it's perfect.
You wanna come in the kitchen?
MELANIA: No, no, no.
It's fine.
You will have that for dinner?
Perfect.
DONALD: You want a salad?
MELANIA: No, I will go
in there and see.
Okay. Great.
It's 2:00
in the morning already.
(MELANIA SIGHS)
She is the most incredible
First Lady.
MELANIA: Yes. (CHUCKLES)
Look, they caught me
with this.
MELANIA: Welcome home.
That was some evening,
wasn't it?
Well, that was
an amazing evening,
and it was an amazing day,
the inauguration
was incredible. So...
INTERVIEWER: And you had
your First Lady
with you right by your side.
Nobody like her.
She's very difficult,
but nobody like her.
She's not difficult,
she's great.
INTERVIEWER:
And what's it feel like
to be President again?
That's the biggest
deal of all...
- MELANIA: Yeah.
- There's nothing
bigger, right?
INTERVIEWER:
I can't believe right now
- we're in the White House.
- Can you imagine?
This is the, uh,
most incredible place.
Beautiful art.
And amazing history here.
Take a look at this.
Claude Monet,
presented by Jackie...
- MELANIA: Yeah.
- ...in honor of John Kennedy.
I'll see you guys tomorrow.
MELANIA: Good night.
INTERVIEWER:
Sweet dreams, Mr. President.
DONALD: Yeah.
MELANIA: With the celebrations
behind us,
the first day of my husband's
second term has arrived.
There is much to accomplish
in the next four years.
As First Lady,
children will always remain
my priority...
through initiatives
like Be Best
and Fostering the Future.
I feel energized to serve
the American people
once again,
and as always,
I will move forward
with purpose and of course,
with style.

Great hands,
perfect body position.
