Perfect Soul (2026) Movie Script

(suspenseful music)
(fire crackling)
(suspenseful music)
What you carry
inside you, Carrie-Ann,
is a gift far greater than
one could possibly imagine.
Like what?
(fire crackling)
(suspenseful music)
How about we do a trial run
to see how far your
powers have come?
Okay.
(fire crackling)
(suspenseful music)
Close your eyes.
(fire crackling)
(suspenseful music)
I was about your age when
mother showed me this trick.
(fire crackling)
(suspenseful music)
Now I want you to hold out your
hands, and keep them apart.
Think of the space between
them as an extension
of your mind and energy
and manifest it before you.
(fire crackling)
(suspenseful music)
- Is anything happening?
- Concentrate.
(fire crackling)
(suspenseful music)
(chime whirring)
(suspenseful music)
Open your eyes.
How can this be?
We didn't cast a spell.
There's some things
that can be controlled
by your thoughts.
How will I know which to use?
In time, it'll
all come to you.
(fire crackling)
(suspenseful music)
(Mary breathing hard)
(suspenseful music)
Carrie-Ann, you must run
to the abandoned cottage
on the far side
of Council Bluff,
and stay there until daylight.
What's going on?
(fire crackling)
(suspenseful music)
There's no time to explain.
We must hurry.
Mom, what's happening?
They're coming for us,
and if you are discovered,
our bloodlines will
be severed forever.
(fire crackling)
(suspenseful music)
Where is father?
(fire crackling)
(suspenseful music)
Your father is dead, Abigail.
(fire crackling)
(suspenseful music)
You remember the
spell I taught you?
The transference of souls?
- Why are they doing it?
- Do you remember?
Yes, but I don't know
when I...
Your soul will tell you
when the time has arrived.
Listen, you must continue.
You or your offspring
will bring us back,
and make future generations
of this town suffer.
(fire crackling)
(suspenseful music)
Why can't you come with me?
Because if we go with
you, they'll hunt us down
and kill us all.
(fire crackling)
(suspenseful music)
Your sister is right.
If you are found, our
existence will end tonight.
(fire crackling)
(suspenseful music)
I'm scared.
Don't be, Carrie-Ann.
You're such a brave girl.
You can go on knowing
that one day we will
be together again.
We love you and we always will.
(fire crackling)
(suspenseful music)
We will see you again.
(fire crackling)
(suspenseful music)
Now, you must
go, and keep running,
no matter what you hear,
and don't look back.
(fire crackling)
(emotional music)
(footsteps rustling)
(emotional music)
(crowd yelling)
(emotional music)
- Leave us alone.
- Witch.
Leave my daughter alone.
(suspenseful music)
We welcomed you
into our community
only to have you
betray that trust
by practicing the ways of Satan.
(suspenseful music)
[Florence] We have
done no such thing.
(suspenseful music)
We have seen it
with our own eyes.
(suspenseful music)
Leave them alone.
(suspenseful music)
Where is the youngest one?
Where is she?
(spitting echoes)
(suspenseful music)
It matters not.
She will be found, and
made to pay for her sins.
(suspenseful music)
Thou shall not practice
witchcraft ever again.
(suspenseful music)
The Lord shall
cleanse this settlement
of all that is unholy.
You do this and you
all shall burn in hell
for condemning innocence.
Thou are not innocent.
Through the grace
of the High Almighty,
we shall be free of
these servants of Satan.
(suspenseful music)
(crowd chanting)
[Crowd] Sinners.
Sinners.
Sinners, sinners,
sinners, sinners,
sinners, sinners,
sinners, sinners,
sinners, sinners, sinners,
sinners, sinners,
sinners, sinners, sisters.
Sisters.
Our body, our minds, our
essence flows from our...
(suspenseful music)
(ropes creaking)
No.
(Mary gasping)
(suspenseful music)
- Burn her.
- Sinners,
sinners, sinners, sinners...
(Mary screaming)
(somber music)
(birds chirping)
Wait up.
(somber music)
You better hurry before
the Lord opens up the skies.
What?
(footsteps echoing)
- Rain.
- Oh yeah.
(birds chirping)
(footsteps echoing)
Do you mind if I walk with you?
(birds chirping)
Of course.
(birds chirping)
Reading our
favorite book, I see?
Yeah.
Reading verses about...
About what?
(birds chirping)
Never mind.
(birds chirping)
I'm sure you're aware that
Amber will be back in town
tomorrow for a few
weeks from college.
(birds chirping)
Yeah.
(birds chirping)
I envy her
for moving out of this town,
but it's the Lord's doing
that showed her the way,
just like He showed you.
Trust me, I'm gonna need all
the help I can get from Him.
Small town, homeschooled boy,
going to a large university.
We were all homeschooled,
but that only demonstrates
the power of prayer.
(birds chirping)
What about you?
(birds chirping)
I think it's the
Lord's plan for me
to stay here with my parents,
and to take over for my father.
(birds chirping)
Out of everyone,
(birds chirping)
I'm gonna miss you the most.
(birds chirping)
I'm gonna miss you too.
(birds chirping)
(footsteps rustling)
(birds chirping)
Thanks for walking with me.
It was my pleasure.
Maybe next time I can join you,
and we can read
passages together?
(birds chirping)
(crickets chirping)
I'd like that very much.
(birds chirping)
(crickets chirping)
(footsteps echoing)
(crickets chirping)
(somber music)
(door creaking)
(somber music)
(door slamming)
- Mama, Papa.
(shoes rustling)
- In the kitchen.
(footsteps echoing)
- Hi, Papa.
- Hi, Nikki.
Hi, Mama.
Hi.
Is that what I think it is?
It is.
Marie's famous
chocolate layer cake.
Nikki.
You know I don't
like when you do that.
(Nikki and Marie laughing)
What are you writing?
Oh, just taking
some notes for service.
Can I take a look?
(James chuckling)
You'll have to
wait till Sunday.
Your Papa always thinks he's
working on the best sermon
in the history of
sermons, don't you, Dear?
Well, this here will go down
as the best sermon ever written.
I'm sure it will be.
(James laughing)
Oh, and after
service on Sunday,
there's a special studies class.
Looking forward to it.
Why don't you go
get ready for dinner?
What's this?
How did this happen?
I'm sorry, Mama.
Must have happened
as I was reading.
Take it off and wash it.
(Marie sighing)
Where are you going?
- To take off my skirt.
You'll take it off
here and wash it now
before the stain sets in.
(Marie sighing)
Wash it here.
(bowl clanking)
(water running)
- Um...
Jake reminded me
that Amber will be back
in town for a few weeks.
I was hoping I'd be able
to see her tomorrow?
Out of the question.
(water running)
Why?
(water running)
She's been corrupted by
the devil's playground.
She's not the
devil's playground,
and I haven't heard from
her since she's been gone.
(water running)
It certainly is
with all the booze
and lust that happens there.
Mommy, you know Amber
wouldn't do any of that,
and I'm going to see
her at service anyway.
(water running)
- And we'll be with you.
- Mama, Please.
Do you question your
Mother's decisions?
(water running)
No, she's just the
only true friend I have.
Do you question
the Lord's decisions?
(water running)
- No, Papa, that...
- Do you see that?
He died for the sins
of people like Amber.
She's been exposed to
all the devil's workings,
and has fallen into his hands,
and we, we will not let
you be exposed to that.
(water running)
Amber's a wonderful girl,
but she's been poisoned
by the devil's doings.
(water running)
Let's pray for Amber's soul.
(water running)
My Lord, give Amber the strength
to fight off the
work of the devil.
- Yes, Lord.
- And with your guidance,
she shall become
pure once again.
Amen.
(Marie sighing)
Go get ready for dinner.
(footsteps echoing)
(crickets chirping)
(suspenseful music)
(Rosary clanking)
(suspenseful music)
(blanket rustling)
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
(suspenseful music)
[Mary] Nikki.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
Hello?
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
Hello?
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
(intense suspenseful music)
Whoa, what's going on?
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
- Amber?
- Nikki,
are you all right?
- I missed you so much.
I missed you too.
You really must have
been into whatever verse
you were reading.
- I guess so.
(birds chirping)
Is that perfume I smell?
- Do you like it?
I do, but did your
parents approve?
Are you kidding?
They spent an hour lecturing me
how the big guy don't approve,
and if I smelled
like this in college,
I'm inviting the lust of
the devil to fall upon me.
(birds chirping)
Has it?
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
Guys see me with my
Bible and they run away.
Guess they don't
wanna be preached.
Their loss.
So tell me everything.
What's it like?
Didn't you read
the letters I sent you?
(birds chirping)
Oh, your parents never
gave 'em to you, did they?
When I didn't hear from you,
I thought you didn't
wanna talk to me anymore
now that you're in college.
I'm sorry.
I sort of knew they
get intercepted.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
Let me guess.
They still call it
Satan's playground.
Devil's playground.
Oh, my bad.
(Amber laughing)
(birds chirping)
Well, they're right,
sex, drugs, temptation,
it's everywhere.
(leaves rustling)
(birds chirping)
Sororities I wanted to be
a part of pushed me aside,
and I had several
roommates that they moved,
I guess they didn't like
my praying every night.
(leaves rustling)
(birds chirping)
Oh, I did meet a friend.
She's really wonderful
and so outspoken.
She's always invited
me to go out with her,
and her friends,
and after a while,
we all became close.
I'm so happy for you.
(leaves rustling)
(birds chirping)
It's been so lonely
since you've been gone.
You have Jake.
(leaves rustling)
(birds chirping)
(Amber gasping)
Nikki Strange.
You can't have those feelings.
- What feelings?
- Nikki.
I don't.
I don't.
Here I thought I'd
be tempted by flesh.
Oh, stop it.
I'm only joking.
(somber music)
(birds chirping)
I better get going.
It's so nice to see you again.
When do you wanna
get back together?
I'll be at the service on
Saturday afternoon at three.
Great, I'll see you then.
(somber music)
(birds chirping)
(door creaking)
(Pastor speaking on radio)
Conceived
because birth is sin.
- Hi, Papa.
- What is...
Hi, Nikki.
Come join me.
Pastor Roberts is on.
[Pastor Roberts]
Lust is a temptation,
and an evil that
overcomes many of us.
They had some of
flesh were obvious.
Have you decided what
verses to read for Sunday?
(Radio continues)
- I think so.
I had some trouble
deciding on the message
I wanted to convey.
- Witchcraft.
And what did you come up with?
- Jealousy.
- I'd like that to be
a surprise.
- Ho-ho.
- Temptation.
- All right,
fair enough.
- Sections, factions and envy.
It is born of Satan,
and the flesh,
but the body, however, is not
meant for sexual immorality,
but for the Lord, and
the Lord for the body.
No temptation has overtaken you,
except what is
common to mankind.
God is faithful.
He will not let you be tempted
beyond what you can bear.
What is that smell?
Perfume?
I don't know, Papa.
(Radio continues)
- Marie, get in here.
(suspenseful music)
(Radio continues)
What is it?
(somber music)
You saw her, didn't you?
Didn't you?
- I'm sorry, Mama,
I'm sorry. Papa.
- You disobeyed our wishes.
You disobeyed the Lord's wishes.
- She's my friend.
- She has been stained
by Satan's hands.
Stench of hell hangs over you.
Come here.
(somber music)
(Radio continues)
(lashes echoing)
- And under His wings,
you'll find refuge.
(Nikki crying)
(somber music)
(lashes echoing)
(radio continues)
(Nikki sobbing)
Nor the pestilence...
(lashes echoing)
(somber music)
Come here.
(radio continues)
(somber music)
What does this stand for?
(somber music)
- It stands for...
- Did Jesus cry
when He died for your sins?
No, Papa.
(Nikki sobbing)
We will not allow you
to take the path she has.
Let's go.
(somber music)
(Nikki sobbing)
(James sighing)
(somber music)
(Nikki sobbing)
(somber music)
I'm disappointed in you.
- No, Mama.
- Please don't, I'm sorry.
(Nikki crying)
(somber music)
You should be apologizing
to the Lord, not to me.
I beg for your
forgiveness, my Lord.
(Nikki crying)
It hurts me more
than it hurts you.
(somber music)
(brush rustling)
(water running)
(somber music)
I hope you learned your lesson.
(Nikki sobbing)
(somber music)
You'll stay with us
in our room tonight,
and we'll pray together.
(somber music)
Yes, Mama.
(Nikki sobbing)
You're a
beautiful girl, Nikki.
Don't let the sin of temptation
get the better of you.
(somber music)
I won't, Mama.
(somber music)
We just want
what's best for you.
(somber music)
Amber has been tainted by sin,
and we can't let
that happen to you.
I know, Mama,
but Amber is strong.
Why can't you believe that?
Because persuasion is a
powerful tool of the devil.
Even when you have the
strength of God with you.
(somber music)
Don't you trust me?
Of course we do, sweetheart.
But it's our job as your
parents to keep you safe.
And in order for us to do that,
we have to keep you away from
anyone who may do you harm.
(somber music)
(footsteps echoing)
Have you learned your lesson?
Yes, Papa.
(somber music)
She'll sleep with us
in our room tonight,
and we'll pray together.
(somber music)
(footsteps echoing)
Now finish up, get ready for
bed, and meet us in our room.
Yes, Mama.
(somber music)
(water running)
I'm sorry, my Lord.
Amber is my dearest friend,
and I hope you can find
it in you to forgive me.
(somber music)
(water running)
(Nikki sobbing)
(somber music)
(suspenseful music)
(Nikki gasping)
(suspenseful music)
(heartbeat throbbing)
The Almighty will
give you the strength
to be by His side.
- Nikki Strange.
- I'm sorry, Mama.
I can't concentrate.
[James] You can't
concentrate to pray?
[Nikki] No, Papa.
[James] What
did Amber tell you?
Nothing, Papa.
Just that she was
happy to be back.
The Lord knows
when you're lying.
I promise, Mama, that was it.
Let's call it a night.
(bed rustling)
(birds chirping)
- To close out
today's service, a
reading from Peter 5:8-9.
"Stay sober and alert,
for your opponent, the devil,
(birds chirping)
Is prowling like a roaring lion,
seeking out someone to devour.
Resist him.
Solid in your faith,
realizing that the
brotherhood of believers
is undergoing the same
suffering throughout the world.
(birds chirping)
The God of all
grace, who called you
to His everlasting glory
in Christ will Himself
restore, confirm, strengthen
and establish those
"who have suffered
a little while."
Dominion be His
throughout the ages.
(birds chirping)
Go in peace, go with God.
Amen.
- Amen.
- Amen.
(birds chirping)
(congregation chattering)
Thank you, Nikki.
(birds chirping)
Hey little man, how's it going?
Thanks for coming.
(birds chirping)
- Oh, thank you.
- Beautiful sermon.
Thank you.
(birds chirping)
Always enticing.
(birds chirping)
Great sermon.
Thank you so much.
Appreciate that.
(birds chirping)
Wonderful sermon.
Very enticing.
Thank you.
It was a pleasure giving it.
David, so glad
you could make it.
It's always good to have a
Collins at one of the services.
Well my great, great...
Well either way, he
would've been proud.
That makes me happy to hear.
(birds chirping)
Look at you, young man.
(James chuckling)
Your father tells me
you're having trouble
in a certain subject at school.
Yeah, arithmetic, well
it's not my strongest point.
[James] I think
it's none of ours.
(birds chirping)
I heard Amber
was back in town.
Where is she?
I don't know.
Hopefully she'll be here
for Sunday service though.
(birds chirping)
I can't believe how big
the two of you have gotten.
It seems like just yesterday,
I was reading you
Bible verses with Noah,
and now you're,
well, you were just this
big, and now you're this big.
(group chuckling)
(birds chirping)
Whatever happened to Noah?
(birds chirping)
I'm right here, Jake.
(birds chirping)
[Nikki] It's a shame you
don't bring them out anymore.
(birds chirping)
Well...
I thought he needed a rest.
(birds chirping)
Thank you for doing my breaks.
Oh, it's my pleasure.
Try not to go on too hard,
'cause that'll save your life.
I'll see what I can do.
Well if you guys
will excuse me,
I have to go back to the shop.
(birds chirping)
And we need to head out also.
Go ahead.
I'll be home in a few.
(birds chirping)
Okay, but don't be too long.
(birds chirping)
You ready to go home?
(birds chirping)
You go ahead, dear.
I need to pick up some things
from the store for dinner.
Well, I could drive you.
(birds chirping)
- You know, it's a nice day.
I think I'll walk.
(birds chirping)
(somber music)
- I made you something.
- Oh?
(somber music)
(birds chirping)
It's beautiful.
(birds chirping)
(somber music)
- I carved it myself.
- I'll cherish it forever.
(somber music)
I wanted to do something
special for you before I left.
(somber music)
(birds chirping)
You look very pretty in that.
Thank you.
(somber music)
(birds chirping)
So I'll see you Sunday?
See you Sunday.
(somber music)
(birds chirping)
(door creaking)
(box creating)
(money rustling)
(box creaking)
(doors creaking)
(birds chirping)
(equipment clanking)
(footsteps echoing)
What can I do for
you, Ms. Strange?
Oh, I was just
taking a stroll in town.
Thought I'd stop by and
see how you were doing.
I'm doing pretty good,
considering I just saw
you 30 minutes ago.
Is it wrong of me
to think about you
all alone in the store?
How's the hot water?
It's working well.
Can't complain.
That's good.
I don't have to
keep coming over.
Don't want to get
a bad reputation.
Trust me.
I wouldn't worry about that.
We should probably
close the garage.
It's gonna get...
(somber music)
(Marie and Jeremy
breathing hard)
It's about to
get a lot hotter.
(somber music)
You know how to handle sinners.
You know how I
feel about sinners.
(Marie giggling)
(somber music)
(footsteps echoing)
(kissing echoing)
Well, I need you to lead
me on the path to redemption.
(somber music)
(Marie sighing)
(furniture clanking)
Come, punish me.
(somber music)
(Marie groaning)
Oh...
Oh, oh, yeah.
(somber music)
(Marie moaning)
(crickets chirping)
(somber music)
(Mary humming "Amazing Grace")
Mama?
(Mary humming "Amazing Grace")
(suspenseful music)
Mama?
(suspenseful music)
(footsteps echoing)
(suspenseful music)
Mama?
(footsteps echoing)
(suspenseful music)
Mama?
(footsteps echoing)
(suspenseful music)
Nikki.
It is time to come
home, my granddaughter.
Mama.
Papa.
- Scream all you want.
They can't hear you.
- Why?
What do you, what do you want?
[Mary] For you to come home.
My Lord, Savior,
please save me.
- He can't help who you are.
You are so much more than this.
(suspenseful music)
This isn't real.
(Nikki breathing hard)
This is as real
as it gets, Nikki.
It's time to come home
to your rightful family.
My family is here,
and also is God.
(suspenseful music)
(Mary sighing)
It saddens us to see how
you fall into such darkness.
If only you could see
what really happened
to your true mother,
my beloved daughter,
you would see you've
surrounded yourself
with nothing but sinners,
just like you have become.
I'm not a sinner.
I gave my soul to Jesus.
(suspenseful music)
Would Jesus allow
the impure thoughts
that control your mind,
or the pleasure you get
when you're punished
by your imposter
mother and father?
I don't have impure thoughts.
God will protect the
lives of His faithful ones
and deliver them from evil.
(Mary laughing)
God will not protect you,
for the very blood that
runs through your veins.
He considers evil.
No.
(suspenseful music)
Come home.
Nikki, let us show you
the way to immortality,
and help you bring us back.
Our Lord, Savior all,
please cover me with
your love and vanquish
the evil before thee.
(suspenseful music)
Your soul has been
corrupted, my granddaughter.
Let us help you to break
free from the deity
that holds you back from
discovering your true heritage.
(suspenseful music)
The Lord is my Savior.
(suspenseful music)
(Nikki gasping)
Belong with us,
not these sinners.
I'm not a sinner.'
(suspenseful music)
(Nikki sobbing)
In time, my dear Nikki,
you will see the truth
that's been concealed
from you by those
you hold close to your heart.
(suspenseful music)
- No.
(Nikki sobbing)
(suspenseful music)
Sinners, sinners, sinners.
(suspenseful music)
(voices echoing)
(suspenseful music)
(Nikki sobbing)
(suspenseful music)
There's no need
to be afraid, Nikki.
I'm not afraid when
the Lord is with me.
If He's with you, then
why are you scared of me?
He's testing me.
I can assure you,
this is not a test.
Such cruel punishment
for something
as trivial as seeing a friend.
I disobeyed my Mama and Papa.
I deserved it.
- Did He deserve it?
- He died for us.
Who exactly did He die for?
You, me, my family,
whose followers of
His faith murdered us?
I don't believe you.
He's not cruel,
He loves everyone.
Does He?
Does He love everyone,
or does He choose who
to shower His love upon?
Everyone you know hides
their most serious flaws
behind the veil of
the deception of faith.
What are you talking about?
In time you will understand.
The woman with the burnt skin.
Who is she?
She's my mother, and
your grandmother, Mary,
and I'm your Aunt Abigail.
It's impossible.
I don't know who any of you are.
That's because
you've been deceived.
By whom?
Everyone.
There is so much
more for you to see,
much more than this
book can ever teach you.
It's taken us a long
time to find you,
and make the circle complete.
Who is us?
Take my hand and I
will show you everything.
No.
Nikki, please.
We need you to come home.
Leave me alone.
Not until you realize
that everything around you
is nothing more than a lie.
This gift given to
you by someone
you can never truly
enjoy the pleasures of.
I know it troubles you
that the boy you desire
is so close, yet so far away.
It's the way
that God wants it.
It doesn't need to be.
This is the symbol
that holds the truth.
(suspenseful music)
(Nikki screaming)
(suspenseful music)
(Nikki breathing hard)
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
(knocking on door)
- Good morning, baby.
- Morning, Mom.
Let's find you
something nice to wear.
It looks like you're adding
a little something there,
just like your father was.
It's your cooking.
(kiss echoing)
Just like your
father used to say.
You know, he used to love to
do a little slow dance with me
sometimes before he'd get
dressed in the morning.
I can tell by the look on
your face that you enjoyed it.
I'm so happy I have you.
Mother, I don't have to leave.
Oh sweetheart, don't be silly.
I only want the best for you.
I don't want
you to feel alone.
I'll call you every day.
Let's get you dressed
now, my dear Richard.
That was father's name, Mom.
I know, sweetheart.
So what would you like
for breakfast today?
Whatever you'd like to make.
Okay.
(clothes rustling)
(footsteps echoing)
(door clanking)
(birds chirping)
(footsteps echoing)
(plate clanking)
(footsteps echoing)
Excuse me.
We pray first.
Of course.
Bless us, oh Lord,
for these Thy gifts,
which we are about to
receive from Thy bounty,
through Christ, our Lord.
Amen.
It's good to have
you home, Honey.
We really have missed you.
I've missed you too.
And let me say
that you were right.
Satan is at work there.
But my faith will never
succumb to his pleasures.
We know, sweetheart.
Is something wrong?
(somber music)
Look, we know you've been
really enjoying college,
but...
- But what?
(somber music)
Things are hard.
(somber music)
No, you can't pull me out,
I found my calling there.
I'm sorry, but the crops,
they just, they just aren't...
(somber music)
Mom, you can't
let this happen.
Sweetie, if we could
do something, we would.
College is expensive,
and we barely have enough money
to keep a roof over our heads.
You can't pull me out now.
What is wrong with you?
Lower your voice
when you speak to us.
Now we've risked everything
to send you there,
and you insult us
with this attitude?
Have the temptations of
Satan infiltrated your soul?
No.
(somber music)
Go to your room.
Ask the Lord for forgiveness.
Fine.
(somber music)
I'm sorry.
(somber music)
(door slamming)
(somber music)
(Amber screaming)
(somber music)
(bag rustling)
(somber music)
(notebook rustling)
(somber music)
(knocking on door)
Come in.
(door creaking)
(door closing)
Amber, good to see you.
Good to see
you again, as well.
Welcome in,
ladies, this is Amber,
and Amber, this is
Kelly and Jennifer.
Hi.
We've heard so much about you.
- You have?
- Yeah, Kimberly told us
that you're here to teach
us the ways of the Lord.
We got so excited.
We could use a
little God in our lives.
(Sorority Girls giggling)
Well, it's a
pleasure to be here.
Please, have a seat.
I must admit I didn't think
I'd find any friends here.
Well, no need to
worry about that now.
So Kimberly told us where
you're from, how exciting.
Nothing really
exciting about it.
So I figured we'd start with...
Your friend, Nikki.
She sounds like a
wonderful person.
Please tell us about her.
Well, she's very
sweet and she's...
Well ladies, let's not
distract from why we're here.
Of course.
Please, Amber, continue.
So I figured we start with
one of my favorite verses.
(knocking on door)
Yeah.
May I come in?
(drawer clanking)
Sure.
(door creaking)
I know you're upset,
but please understand that
this was not an easy decision
for your father and I to make.
You don't know
what it feels like
to finally feel like you
belong somewhere
other than in Perfect.
You're right.
I don't, and I'm
not gonna sit here,
and tell you that I do.
But what I do understand is
what it's like to be stuck
in the same place
your entire life.
I know, Mom.
I should feel blessed that
I was given this chance
that so many never had.
But you can't just
take that away from me.
We're not, Sweetheart.
We'll do our best to make
sure you can go back,
it just can't be now.
You don't understand.
Through the Lord's teachings,
I've reached a group of
girls that needed guidance,
and now you're telling me
that I have to walk
away from that?
You and father didn't
want me to go to college,
because you thought
I'd be tempted,
just like the strangers
thought I would be.
You're no better than them.
You have no idea
what we sacrificed,
so you could go to college,
and I don't
appreciate you taking
that condescending tone with me.
Decision's been made.
It's in God's hands to
help us raise enough money
to send you back,
and until then, I don't wanna
hear another word about it.
God?
The Lord Jesus?
It's always about them.
Why do you have
them control our lives?
It's not up to
them, it's up to you.
He's nothing.
(slap echoing)
- Don't you dare
speak like that in this house.
(somber music)
I'm sorry, Mom.
(somber music)
It pains us to do
what we had to do,
but I promise on the Lord,
you will go back, no
matter what it takes.
(somber music)
What do you say that we make
some of my renowned
chocolate chip cookies?
Even let you eat some
of the cookie dough.
You sure know my weak spot.
I'll be down in a minute.
Everything will be fine.
(footsteps echoing)
Everything will be fine.
(somber music)
(birds chirping)
(chairs clanking)
(birds chirping)
Did you get a metal sliver?
I think so.
Yeah.
I see it here.
Let me help you.
(somber music)
(birds chirping)
Got it.
(somber music)
(birds chirping)
What are you two doing?
Nothing.
(somber music)
(birds chirping)
Nikki Strange.
Are you having impure
thoughts about Jake?
- Of course not.
- Jake?
You know it's a sin to think
about such things
before marriage.
It's a sin to do,
not to think about it.
- Amber.
- Guess what I found out?
What would that be?
I found out there was
once a coven of of witches
that lived in Perfect
back in the 1600s.
When the townspeople found out,
they were hung and burned.
- Yeah, right.
- I'm serious.
I found about it in college.
(birds chirping)
I know exactly
where they were hung.
What do you say we check it out?
(birds chirping)
- Everything okay?
- Yeah.
Yeah.
(birds chirping)
What do you say we
head out there tomorrow?
- I'm up for it.
- Nikki?
Sure, why not?
(birds chirping)
- Jake, Amber.
- Mrs. Strange.
Mrs. Strange.
(birds chirping)
Tell me, Amber, is
college as corrupted
with evil as we know it is?
Oh, very much so,
but I've been doing my best
to spread the love
and Word of Him.
Him?
You can't say His name?
- Mama.
(birds chirping)
It's okay, Nikki.
I assure you, Mrs. Strange,
He knows who I'm talking about.
(birds chirping)
Come with me, Nikki.
It's time to get ready.
(birds chirping)
(footsteps rustling)
Mama, can I ask
you a question?
Sure, Honey.
(birds chirping)
Did Amber ever send me any
letters while she was away?
Sweetheart, you know we would
never hide those from you.
Okay, just you know
you feel about her.
(birds chirping)
Can we change the subject?
(birds chirping)
Did you know about any witches
who once lived in Perfect?
Who told you that?
Amber?
(birds chirping)
No...
(birds chirping)
Yes, Mama.
(birds chirping)
Those stories are folklore.
Nothing more.
Perfect has always been a town
of faith since its beginnings.
So there'll be no more talk
of witches or witchcraft.
Is that understood?
Yes, Mama.
I always knew Amber would
be influenced in college.
- By hearing a story?
- I said no more talk
about that, you're to
stay away from her.
Do I make myself clear?
Yes, Mama.
(birds chirping)
Go get ready.
(birds chirping)
Everyone must give according
to what he has inwardly decided,
not sadly, not grudgingly,
for God loves a cheerful giver.
And to close out the
service, I would now like
to introduce my daughter, Nikki,
to come up and read for us.
(birds chirping)
[Mary] Come home, Nikki.
Come home, Nikki.
(birds chirping)
Good afternoon, everybody,
I'd like to read a few of my
favorite passages from...
(birds chirping)
(heart throbbing)
(suspenseful music)
(pages rustling)
(suspenseful music)
Blessed is the one who does not
walk in step with the wicked
or stand the way that...
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
That sinners take...
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
Or...
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
Sit with...
In the company of mockers.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
But those delight is
in the law of the Lord
and who meditates on
His law day and night.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
A person is like a tree.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
He's planted by
streams of water,
(suspenseful music)
(heartbeat throbbing)
Which yields his
fruit in season,
(suspenseful music)
(heartbeat throbbing)
And his leaf never withers.
(suspenseful music)
(heartbeat throbbing)
Have...
(suspenseful music)
(heartbeat throbbing)
Heavenly due prosperous.
(suspenseful music)
(heartbeat throbbing)
John 1:16.
"From His abundance, we have
received one gracious..."
(suspenseful music)
(heartbeat throbbing)
One gracious
blessing after another...
(suspenseful music)
(heartbeat throbbing)
Corinthians 7.
(suspenseful music)
(heartbeat throbbing)
"For the unbelieving
husband is made holy
(suspenseful music)
(heartbeat throbbing)
From his, because of his wife...
(suspenseful music)
(heartbeat throbbing)
Because of his wife...
(suspenseful music)
(heartbeat throbbing)
This town isn't what
you thought it was.
Is it?
(suspenseful music)
(heartbeat throbbing)
Your mother is a cheating whore.
Your father lives off greed
and his impure
thoughts about you.
(suspenseful music)
(heartbeat throbbing)
The mother of the boy you desire
uses him to fill the
vacancy of her husband,
and your best friend,
stealing the boy
who is clearly for you.
(suspenseful music)
(heartbeat throbbing)
Worst of all, the woman you
all looked up to as children
committed the ultimate of sins.
Shall we go on?
(suspenseful music)
(heartbeat throbbing)
Let go of your faith
and commit to us,
and together we can
lead them to salvation.
(suspenseful music)
(heartbeat throbbing)
You, Nikki, can be their savior.
Leave me alone.
(suspenseful music)
(heartbeat throbbing)
Come home with us.
Be with your family.
(suspenseful music)
(heartbeat throbbing)
Please help me.
Thank you all for coming.
Unfortunately, my
daughter's not feeling well.
(suspenseful music)
(heartbeat throbbing)
Nikki.
Get your hands off me.
(suspenseful music)
(heartbeat throbbing)
What's gotten into you?
Whore.
(slap echoing)
(suspenseful music)
(heartbeat throbbing)
- Nikki, are you okay?
- She'll be fine.
Do you need anything?
(suspenseful music)
(heartbeat throbbing)
Thank you, Jake.
I'm gonna get her home.
We'll come by to check
on you later, Nikki.
No, she needs her rest.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
(suspenseful music)
(crickets chirping)
(suspenseful music)
(owl hooting)
(knocking on door)
Nikki.
(door creaking)
(chair creaking)
God is always with you,
always there to protect you,
no matter what
evil comes for you.
Pray together.
Together, we can stop her
from corrupting your mind,
but we must do it as one.
Pray with me, Nikki.
Please.
(kiss echoing)
(floor creaking)
(footsteps echoing)
We love you.
God loves you.
(door creaking)
(suspenseful music)
I am sorry you had
to see what you did.
Mother thought that'd be the
only way to convince you.
I thought otherwise.
(suspenseful music)
What do you want from me?
(suspenseful music)
We are outcast from Perfect,
killed because our beliefs
didn't agree with the town.
We need you to help us
bring justice to the evil
that was brought upon us.
Your beliefs must have
been rooted in evil.
That life should be
enjoyed to its fullest?
That can be done without
turning to Satan himself.
(suspenseful music)
(Abigail laughing)
Who says we've
turned to Satan?
Amber said there
was a coven of witches
who lived in Perfect.
She's right.
You saw the others today.
I don't believe you.
Perfect has always been
true to the Word of God,
and would never
commit such crimes.
(suspenseful music)
This is a test God is putting
forth to test my faith.
(suspenseful music)
Go to our sacred grounds,
Nikki, and find out.
I'm not going to
do anything you ask.
(suspenseful music)
My mother won't stop
until you've come to
accept who you are.
I do accept who I am.
(suspenseful music)
(door creaking)
(intense suspenseful music)
[Mary] You
believe in your faith
no matter how horrid it
may be, don't you, my Dear?
I'm fearless.
(suspenseful music)
Then your faith
allows you to believe
in divine interventions,
does it not?
Even though impure
thoughts fill your mind?
- Stop saying that.
- No,
it is time for you to
rescind your devotion to Him,
and allow yourself to
become who you are.
Leave me alone.
This town, your friends,
your dishonest parents,
and even you, Nikki,
are nothing but sinners.
No.
(intense suspenseful music)
(Nikki sobbing)
(birds chirping)
Morning.
Nikki?
Is everything okay?
Yeah.
I'm fine.
Mind if I ask you a question?
Sure.
(birds chirping)
Do you believe God tests us?
- Do you mean our faith?
- Yeah.
I think He does in a way that
we are not aware that He is.
Never mind.
(birds chirping)
If there's something
bothering you,
you can always tell me.
(birds chirping)
It's nothing, really,
I'm just blessed
to be here with you.
(birds chirping)
I feel the same way.
(birds chirping)
So you think we'll find
any witches out there?
(suspenseful music)
What?
(suspenseful music)
Nikki?
Did you two behave
while you waited for me?
(suspenseful music)
I don't think I wanna go.
Come on, it'll be a quest,
just like we used to
do when we were kids.
Yeah, come on Nikki.
(suspenseful music)
- Please.
(suspenseful music)
- Fine.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
(footsteps rustling)
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
(suspenseful music)
So this is where they
were hung and burned.
So the original
settlers killed witches?
Perfect was
founded on religion.
So when a group of their own
practiced Satan's beliefs,
they took it upon themselves
to cleanse the town.
They were later referred
to as the Perfect Eight.
There were rumors
that the youngest one
survived for centuries
under spell transference,
waiting until the time was right
to bring them back
and get revenge.
What were their names?
- The witches?
- Yeah.
I don't know.
(suspenseful music)
If it's true,
it's hard to believe the
atrocities committed here.
Help us, Nikki.
(suspenseful music)
(footsteps rustling)
(suspenseful music)
Help us, Nikki.
(suspenseful music)
You were brought
here for a reason
to see the horrors
that were done to us.
(suspenseful music)
She's right, Nikki.
(suspenseful music)
We can correct everything that
was wrongfully done to them.
- What are you doing?
- What does it look like?
(suspenseful music)
Giving into the pleasures
that you hide from and
what awaits for you.
Betrayal is a sin
one cannot escape from.
(suspenseful music)
Get away from him.
Who are you talking to?
Sinners is what they are.
I said, get away
from him, you sinner.
What's gotten into you?
(suspenseful music)
- Can't you see them?
- See who?
Mary, Abigail,
the other witches.
There's no one here but us.
(suspenseful music)
They were just
hanging from the trees.
Abigail just opened her
eyes and spoke to me.
Who's Abigail?
(suspenseful music)
She's like...
(Nikki whimpering)
(suspenseful music)
Nikki.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
(footsteps echoing)
(suspenseful music)
(door slamming)
(suspenseful music)
(pages rustling)
(suspenseful music)
(Nikki sobbing)
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
[Jake] Mother.
I'm in here, Honey,
Sorry I'm late.
Your father was always
late, but it didn't matter.
I loved him just the same.
A love that I'll
always have with me
for the rest of my life.
I always asked myself why God
would take him away from me.
Every night after he passed,
I thought that God decided
that I did not deserve
such an amazing,
good-hearted man.
I thought I did
something to offend God,
that something I did, that
I deserved to lose Him.
Took a long time for me
to come to the realization
that I didn't.
You didn't do
anything wrong, Mother.
God decided that it was
father's time to join Him.
He's still with us,
and he always will be.
I see so much
of him in you, Jake.
I put this on
especially for you.
He used to love
when I wore this outfit.
You look very pretty in it.
You're so kind.
We should start dinner
before it gets too late.
You are right, my dear.
(footsteps echoing)
(birds chirping)
(door creaking)
(footsteps echoing)
Thank you.
(footsteps echoing)
(birds chirping)
Haven't seen Nikki yet.
Oh, she's upstairs
in her room sleeping.
(birds chirping)
Keep thinking
about the other day.
(birds chirping)
You know what
happened at the reading?
Yeah.
(birds chirping)
Well, look, I don't
think it's anything
we should worry about.
She was probably
just stressed out.
It's the first time she's read
in front of that many people.
I don't know, James.
(birds chirping)
I'm sure it'll be fine.
- I guess so.
- Listen to me.
I won't let anything
happen to our daughter.
(birds chirping)
I know.
(birds chirping)
Lisa.
Glad to see you.
(birds chirping)
I'm not interrupting, am I?
Of course not.
Would you like a
glass of lemonade?
No, thank you.
(birds chirping)
I was wondering if I could
speak to the Pastor alone.
Of course.
I'm gonna go into town,
and tell Jeremy that the hot
water isn't working again.
(birds chirping)
(swing creaking)
(footsteps echoing)
(birds chirping)
How may I help you?
I know that
donations allow you
to keep the church going,
and we truly appreciate
all your hard work.
You know, I said it before
and I'll say it again,
it's my pleasure.
(birds chirping)
Here's the thing.
As you're aware, Rob and
I are having a hard time,
and it pains me to say this,
but we can't donate anymore.
(birds chirping)
Believe me when I
say, I feel your pain,
but you must keep
your faith strong.
We have to keep the church open.
(birds chirping)
We don't have anything left,
and Amber is angry at us,
because she can't go
back to college, and...
Lisa, keeping faith
may be the only thing
that allows you to
keep your home,
and possibly allows
Amber to go back.
(birds chirping)
I'm not losing
my faith, Pastor.
Are you not?
(birds chirping)
I've known you for years,
and I've always been honest
and open with your family.
I have never asked
you for anything
other than your devotion to God,
and because I am His messenger,
you're devotion to me.
(birds chirping)
You trust me, don't you?
I do.
(birds chirping)
(James sighing)
(birds chirping)
I'm sure we can
work out something.
(birds chirping)
Pastor, you aren't
suggesting that we...
No, of course not.
(birds chirping)
No, what I'm thinking is
that I give you and Rob
a couple weeks
to sort things out,
(birds chirping)
And then we can
discuss back payments.
(birds chirping)
I don't know.
(birds chirping)
Go home, talk to Rob,
I'm sure he'd be more than happy
to agree with what I'm saying.
(birds chirping)
Sorry it had to
come to this, Pastor.
No, no.
Don't let it bother you.
(birds chirping)
The Lord and I are
always on your side.
(birds chirping)
(suspenseful music)
(door creaking)
(suspenseful music)
(door creaking)
(suspenseful music)
That room contains the truth.
Bullshit, if it did, you
would've told me before.
Go look.
(suspenseful music)
But don't be afraid
of what you may find.
I'm not afraid.
Now will you leave me alone?
God damn it.
(door clanking)
What did you say, young lady?
(suspenseful music)
I'm sorry, Papa...
Have you been in our room?
(suspenseful music)
I asked you a question.
No, no, Papa, I swear.
(suspenseful music)
You can end this suffering
by going to our sacred grounds
and repeating what I say.
Leave me alone.
(James grunting)
(slap echoing)
I have had enough of you.
(suspenseful music)
(footsteps echoing)
Papa, please, I'm sorry.
(suspenseful music)
(door slamming)
Your attitude
towards our Savior
will not be tolerated
in this house.
(suspenseful music)
To use His name in
vain is unacceptable.
(suspenseful music)
(Nikki grunting and crying)
You enjoy these
punishments, don't you?
You've endured them for so
long, they become a part of you.
You get pleasure,
though you hide it
behind a wall of tears,
and this is the God you worship?
One who allows for
such abusive treatment?
(suspenseful music)
(Nikki grunting)
Now recite the "Hail Mary"
(suspenseful music)
(Nikki sobbing)
Hail Mary, pray for us sinners
until the hour of our death.
Hail Mary...
Hail Mary, please
pray for us sinners
until the hour of our death.
(suspenseful music)
- Again.
(suspenseful music)
Hail Mary, please
pray for us sinners
until the our hour of death.
(suspenseful music)
(Nikki sobbing)
Hail Mary, please
pray for us, sinners,
until the hour of our death.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
(suspenseful music)
(car door clanking)
(suspenseful music)
I thought you'd
never get out of here.
Christ.
(suspenseful music)
You shouldn't use the
Lord's name in vain.
I've done it on more
than on one occasion.
I just wanted to let you know
that the hot water
isn't working properly.
(somber music)
There's no one out there.
Are you sure you
wanna take that risk?
I'm taking a risk every
time I come to see you.
The town's Pastor's wife having
an affair with the handyman.
And why is she
having that affair?
(somber music)
I have my reasons.
(somber music)
Care to tell me those reasons?
(somber music)
(kiss echoing)
(somber music)
By the time I get
done, it won't matter.
(somber music)
It does matter.
(somber music)
Sometimes a woman
just needs a change.
(somber music)
You mean to sin?
(somber music)
Call it whatever you want.
Sin, revenge.
(somber music)
Revenge?
(somber music)
There are things that are
just better left unsaid.
You know, if you love
me, you would tell me.
(somber music)
(Marie laughing)
Who said I loved you?
(somber music)
You're just using me to
get revenge on your husband?
(somber music)
I'm using you because
you're a great fuck.
(somber music)
(kiss echoing)
You have two options.
I can get out of this car, and
you can watch me walk away,
or you can take me right here.
(somber music)
What's it gonna be?
(somber music)
(birds chirping)
We're going to hell.
Honey, we're already
on the way down.
(somber music)
(kisses echoing)
(birds chirping)
(suspenseful music)
(Nikki sobbing)
(suspenseful music)
Maybe your mother was right.
(Nikki sobbing)
(suspenseful music)
Maybe I do enjoy the
pleasures of the pain.
(Nikki sobbing)
(suspenseful music)
Only you know the answer.
Everything seems to be falling
apart since you've arrived.
I've used the
Lord's name in vain.
I hit my best friend...
(Nikki sobbing)
(suspenseful music)
Falling apart or showing you
what you've known all along,
but were afraid to admit?
(suspenseful music)
What happened...
What happened with Amber
and Jake, that wasn't...
That wasn't real?
Was it?
(Nikki sobbing)
(suspenseful music)
What do you think?
I don't know what
to believe anymore.
(Nikki sobbing)
(suspenseful music)
But you know the
only way to find out.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
(suspenseful music)
You know what you'll find.
I'm going for a
walk, nothing more.
(birds chirping)
Amber and Jake
at our sacred ground.
I'm not listening
to you anymore.
And yet here you are,
still talking to me.
If your kind are
gonna fuck with me,
I'd rather it be Abigail.
(birds chirping)
Not until you
see for yourself.
You're trying to
make me see something
that's not even there.
Perhaps you're the false
prophet they speak of.
I'm no prophet.
Just part of you.
Get the fuck away from me.
Our creation has been and
always will be within you.
(footsteps echoing)
(birds chirping)
So we haven't had much time
since I've been back to talk.
A lot going on with Nikki.
I don't understand
who these people are
she's been talking about.
Mary, Abigail...
I've never heard of them..
Maybe she knows
them from somewhere.
She's never left Perfect,
and I don't recall anyone living
here by those names either.
How about we don't
discuss Nikki right now.
(birds chirping)
I wanna know how
you've been doing.
I'm not gonna lie,
I've really missed you.
I've missed you too.
(birds chirping)
You'll have to tell me
what college life is like.
How about we
discuss that later?
Say, at my place, where
we can be more alone?
You're definitely different
since you've been there.
(suspenseful music)
- How so?
- You're more...
- More what?
(birds chirping)
(somber music)
Tell me, Jake.
The lust you feel flow
through your veins,
how does it make you feel?
(birds chirping)
(somber music)
[Jake] The Lord does not
permit such feelings until...
Love must be sincere.
Hate what is evil,
cling to what is good.
(birds chirping)
(somber music)
Be devoted to
one another in love,
honor one another
above yourselves.
Do you believe in
that verse, Jake?
I believe all in the Bible
are sacred writings
of the Word of God.
- Will you be devoted to me?
- Amber, I...
(birds chirping)
(somber music)
Time to give in to the
desires you have longed for.
(birds chirping)
(somber music)
The Lord does not permit it.
(birds chirping)
(somber music)
The Lord permits nothing
that is pleasurable.
Do you not find me enticing?
Did my kiss not boil
the lust inside you?
(birds chirping)
(somber music)
I cannot sin.
Sin is nothing
more than a word.
(birds chirping)
(somber music)
There's an entire
world out there for you
to experience within yourself
if you break away
from the teachings
of a deity that teases you.
(birds chirping)
(somber music)
- Nikki is...
- Nikki can't give you
what you want.
The Lord brought us to
this place for a reason,
for us to be together.
Do you really want to disappoint
the one hold
close to your heart?
(birds chirping)
(somber music)
No.
(birds chirping)
(somber music)
(grass rustling)
(somber music)
It's always been this way.
How could she do this to me?
They use the
words of your Savior
to hide their true selves.
Some even use it as an escape.
She praised the
Lord for their actions.
I know how much this
troubles you, Nikki.
(birds chirping)
(somber music)
It doesn't trouble me.
That's what God
has planned for them.
So be it.
That is untruthful
and you know it.
I know what you're thinking.
How can they get away
with this and you can't?
You are punished for
the sins you commit.
Why can't they be?
Give your soul to us
and learn the truth.
I don't know what
the truth is anymore.
Is that why you ventured out
without your favorite book?
(birds chirping)
(suspenseful music)
I must have dropped it.
You didn't take it with you.
Perfect is not a
town of saints, Nikki.
(birds chirping)
(somber music)
Fuck it.
There's so much more to life
if you escape from this tyranny.
Stop with that shit.
(birds chirping)
(somber music)
You take your anger
out on the wrong person.
I know what you and your
mother are trying to do.
(birds chirping)
(somber music)
We are only trying to
show you the way home,
and who you really are.
I'm not related to you,
or any of your kind.
You are in more
ways than you know,
you are us and we are you.
You're nobody.
We are the ones
who show you what's
hidden from you.
Search your feelings, Nikki,
and you'll realize we are
the ones being honest.
(birds chirping)
(suspenseful music)
Everything, okay, Nikki?
(car tires rustling)
(suspenseful music)
Do you need a ride?
(birds chirping)
(footsteps echoing)
(car door clanking)
(birds chirping)
Okay.
(birds chirping)
(car door slamming)
(car whirring)
How's it going back there?
Couldn't be better.
(car whirring)
What's my mama doing today?
I don't know.
I haven't seen her.
You sure?
I swear I can smell
the perfume she wears
on special occasions.
(car whirring)
It's okay.
I know you're fucking my mama.
(car whirring)
(Jeremy clearing throat)
She any good?
(car whirring)
I'm gonna forget the
vile words you just said,
and pray for God's
forgiveness on your soul.
Perhaps you should
pray for your own.
Care to try the daughter, or
are you only into older women?
(car whirring)
I'm gonna act like this
conversation never happened.
What if I don't?
(car whirring)
Mary and Abigail
told me everything,
like how Mama loves
to be punished by you,
like how her and Papa punish me.
(car whirring)
- Who's Mary and Abigail?
- That doesn't matter.
What matters is that
they showed me the truth
about this town, and the
lies you all perpetuate.
(car whirring)
I didn't wanna
believe it at first,
but then it all started
to make sense.
Amber and Jake, you
and my Mama, Papa,
they showed me the light
that God would never have.
Perfect is in God's hands.
He watches over us, He
keeps us free from sin.
Free from sin?
All I've seen from this
town is nothing but sin.
(car whirring)
I know everyone's
secrets, the way I see it?
You're all gonna burn in hell.
Sit back.
And you all deserve it.
Sinners.
You know what this stands for?
(car whirring)
Of course you do.
(car whirring)
At one point, this symbol
meant everything to me,
(car whirring)
And now it represents
nothing but lies.
(car whirring)
Nikki, I just wanna get
you back to your house.
"You are of your
father, the devil,
and your will is to do
your father's desires.
He was a murderer
from the beginning,
and does not stand to the truth,
because there
is no truth in him.
When he lies, it is out
of his own character,
"for he's a liar and
the father of lies."
(suspenseful music)
John 8:44.
(suspenseful music)
- Very good.
You should keep that
verse in your head.
(suspenseful music)
Why?
(suspenseful music)
Because...
They're coming.
(Nikki laughing)
(suspenseful music)
Who's coming?
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
(suspenseful music)
(car door slamming)
(suspenseful music)
(car window whirring)
(suspenseful music)
May God have mercy
on your soul, Jeremy.
(suspenseful music)
(footsteps rustling)
(suspenseful music)
Mama.
(footsteps rustling)
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
(phone ringing)
(car door slamming)
(footsteps rustling)
What's going on?
(footsteps rustling)
Nothing.
(footsteps rustling)
Jeremy.
(birds chirping)
It's over.
(birds chirping)
What are you talking about?
(birds chirping)
We can't see
each other anymore.
(birds chirping)
What did you do?
Nothing, nothing,
I swear to God,
but I have to leave.
(footsteps echoing)
She knows, Marie.
Somehow she found out,
and if this gets out,
it's not gonna end
well for both of us.
- What did she say to you?
- Doesn't matter.
You're not leaving until
you tell me what's going on.
She went on about two
people named Abigail and Mary,
and they told her
everything about us,
and apparently,
everyone else in the town,
and before I dropped her off,
she said something
about "They're coming."
Now it didn't sound like
Nikki when she was talking,
and she sounded like a
completely different person.
Now, if you'll excuse me,
the Thompsons have
a raccoon problem.
(footsteps echoing)
(birds chirping)
(car door slamming)
(car whirring)
Do you believe us now?
Why am I the only
one that can see you?
Because we are bonded.
Only those within our
bloodlines can see us.
Only a pure child
from our bloodlines
that lives among
us can bring us back.
Why isn't your face burnt?
I realized it was
wrong of me to show you
the results of what
was done to me,
to scare you the way I did,
doesn't make me a very good
grandmother now, does it?
Oh, so now you
got a conscience?
(Mary chuckling)
We are not bad people, Nikki.
You're just misunderstood.
Why would I trust witches?
Witches is such
a derogatory word.
We like to think of ourselves
as beings of life itself.
Besides, have we lied to you?
Why would you trust those who
have clearly misguided you?
All we wanted was to
practice our own faith,
and that scared them.
You call us witches,
just as they did,
but do you not
understand who we were?
We waited centuries for you.
We knew. One day, we'd be
awakened with word you'd arrived.
Who awoke you?
Our religion carried on
long after we were
banished from this earth.
Someone made it
known to our followers,
and with it, unlocked the
door that kept us hidden.
I want to know who it
was that brought you to me.
(door clanking)
(slap echoing)
What did you say to Jeremy?
Answer me.
How dare you insinuate that I
am unfaithful to your father?
How dare you suggest
that I am sinful?
(suspenseful music)
- You know them.
- Know who?
You saw her when
you came into my room.
What are you talking about?
Mary.
(suspenseful music)
It's her, isn't it?
That tramp has
infected you with ideas.
I knew the moment I
heard she was going
to that college that
this would happen.
(suspenseful music)
Whatever she told you was lies.
(suspenseful music)
Your father and I love
each other, and the Lord.
(suspenseful music)
I would never do anything
to betray that love.
(suspenseful music)
It hurts me deeply that
you could even think
that I would do something
like that to your father,
(suspenseful music)
My own daughter believing
that I could commit
such atrocities.
(suspenseful music)
I'm sorry, Mama.
(suspenseful music)
As you should be.
Your father and I
need to go out tonight.
Dinner's in the oven.
I want you to pray for 10
minutes to redeem yourself.
Is that understood?
Yes, Mama.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
- Excuse me, Pastor?
- Fran, so good to see you.
(birds chirping)
How may I help you?
I was hoping you had a moment.
Of course.
Have a seat.
(chair clanking)
(birds chirping)
Hopefully you're here to tell me
that Noah will be making
an appearance on Sunday.
(birds chirping)
I need to make a confession.
Oh.
(birds chirping)
Well, as you know, we've...
Times have been hard and...
(birds chirping)
So what's been troubling you?
(birds chirping)
You can assure me that
this will remain between us?
Fran, whatever you tell me
does not leave this place.
(birds chirping)
I know in teachings
that life is sacred,
(birds chirping)
And we're all God's children.
For what I've done, I don't
think I can be forgiven.
(birds chirping)
Please, Fran.
God is forgiving.
(birds chirping)
Not after what I've
done, I don't think so.
Tell me and together
we can pray on it.
(birds chirping)
No.
No, I can't.
I made a mistake coming here.
I'm here to help, you
came to me for guidance.
(birds chirping)
I won't be much good to you
if you don't let me help you.
I'm sorry I wasted
your time, Pastor.
(birds chirping)
Papa, what was that about?
Confession.
(birds chirping)
Oh.
I'm going over to
Jake's for a little bit.
(birds chirping)
Just be home for dinner.
(birds chirping)
And the second roommate I had,
puked all over
herself one night.
Even with my silent prayers
running through my head,
I couldn't block out
that awful sound.
Oh, and this date, I
actually had a boy come up
and talk to me.
At the first mention of
my faith, he was gone.
It was that bad.
So Jake has a hard
road in front of him.
Hmm.
He'll be fine, I'll
give him a few pointers.
(suspenseful music)
- I'm sure you will.
(suspenseful music)
What does that mean?
How close are you and Jake?
(suspenseful music)
You know, we've
all been friends,
since we were kids.
Closer than just
friends, the two of you?
What are you talking about?
We're nothing but friends.
I saw you two at the location
where you said
witches died yesterday.
(suspenseful music)
I was here all day.
You're a fucking liar.
What did you call me?
Is he a good kisser?
Did you like opening
your blouse for him?
I honestly have no idea
what you're talking about.
I told you, I was here all day.
I can't believe my
own friend would take
the one I have affection for.
Did you fuck him?
- What?
(intense suspenseful music)
(Amber gasping)
I saw everything
you did to him.
Did you find pleasure in it?
Was mama right when she
said you had been corrupted?
(suspenseful music)
- I, I don't...
I don't know what
you're talking about.
- Liar.
- I love you, Nikki.
I would never betray your trust.
(suspenseful music)
I've seen this stuff before.
Why did you draw this?
I don't know, I...
(suspenseful music)
It's the truth, Nikki.
(suspenseful music)
It's over, for all of you.
(door slamming)
(suspenseful music)
(Amber coughing)
(suspenseful music)
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
You wanted me?
Here I am.
(birds chirping)
(suspenseful music)
Do you believe all
that's been shown to you?
I've seen enough.
Then close your eyes
and repeat after me.
From the fires of damnation...
What's going to happen to me?
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
My dear, a whole new
world will open up to you,
one you never imagined existed.
Anything you dream of,
anyone at your fingertips,
the possibilities are endless.
From this point forward,
your life will continue forever.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
From the fires of damnation...
[Nikki] From the
fires of damnation...
- My blood is our blood.
- My blood is our blood.
Your knowledge
is my knowledge.
[Nikki] Your knowledge
is my knowledge.
My life extends to
those wrongfully accused.
My life extends to
those wrongfully accused.
And return the flesh
to those long perished.
And return the flesh
to those long perished.
I ask for the visions of all
who have been unfaithful to me.
I ask for the visions of all
who have been unfaithful to me.
(witches chanting in unison)
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
(suspenseful music)
Everything you
showed me was the truth.
(birds chirping)
(suspenseful music)
Welcome home.
(birds chirping)
(suspenseful music)
I want to know who it
was that brought you to me
and who my real mother was.
(birds chirping)
(suspenseful music)
It is time for you to bring
justice, not only for us,
but to those who led you
down the path of deceit.
I want to know.
In due time.
(birds chirping)
(suspenseful music)
The final sacrifice
begins tonight.
(birds chirping)
(suspenseful music)
("Ave Maria" playing on radio)
Ave
- Our Father
who art in heaven.
How can you pray
after what you've done?
Maria
- Nikki?
You meant so much to
all of us growing up.
You have no idea what it's like
to find out the truth
about you and what you did.
(suspenseful music)
You're just like the rest of
them, destined to burn in hell.
Gratia Plena
- How do you know?
Everything has
become much clearer.
Gratia Plena
My family has shown me
the truth about everyone.
Your mom and dad doesn't know.
(suspenseful music)
- They're not my real family.
(suspenseful music)
(aria continues)
Why, Mother?
(suspenseful music)
(Fran gasping)
I was scared.
(suspenseful music)
Were you scared when
you were conceiving me?
I was foolish.
Did you not think the
judgment would fall upon you?
(suspenseful music)
You are so beautiful.
(suspenseful music)
I ask for your forgiveness.
I made a terrible mistake.
You ask for my forgiveness?
There was so much I could
have done with my life,
and you took that from me.
(suspenseful music)
I would do anything
that my Lord asks of me
to have you here with me.
(suspenseful music)
It's too late
for that, Mother.
(suspenseful music)
Justice must be served, Fran.
Justice must be served.
(Fran gasping)
(suspenseful music)
Out of everybody, you
disappointed me the most.
(suspenseful music)
(Fran gasping)
(suspenseful music)
No one is going to save you now.
(suspenseful music)
It felt as if my
body was on fire.
(suspenseful music)
As it should.
What does it mean?
It means your soul
is being cleansed.
(suspenseful music)
(somber music)
(knocking on door)
(somber music)
Amber, good to see you again.
Nice to see you
again, as well.
(suspenseful music)
Be kind of hard to read
without the lights on.
If it's too much, we could
always turn on the lights.
It's okay.
It won't be my first time
reading via candlelight.
(suspenseful music)
- Please, have a seat.
- Thank you.
(suspenseful music)
(Amber chuckling)
I must admit I
feel out of place.
All of you in black,
and me in white.
It's the way we dress
on special occasions.
What's this special occasion?
Well, it's not that
often we get someone
with such religious commitments
here at Kelly University,
especially once we're
willing to teach us
the ways of the Bible.
And willing to tell us all
about your friend back home.
Nikki?
She so sweet.
She would love this.
We wish she was here, as well.
(suspenseful music)
I must say what you told me
about what happened in Perfect
makes a very scary,
but interesting tale.
(suspenseful music)
Do you trust us, Amber?
I have no reason not to.
You've all been
so nice and inviting.
We just wanna make you
feel like you're at home.
And I'm very
grateful for that.
We admire your dedication
to your religion,
and letting us into your world.
Would you be willing to allow
us to let you into our world?
(suspenseful music)
I cannot let
myself be persuaded
into dealings of the dark.
(sorority girls laughing)
Well, there's
nothing dark about this.
Allow us to show you
what your book won't.
(suspenseful music)
I don't know.
(suspenseful music)
We gave you a chance.
Please give us one.
(suspenseful music)
You'd be helping people in ways
you never thought possible.
Helping people how?
(suspenseful music)
By allowing them
to find someone
they've been searching for
for a long time, and
bring them home.
(suspenseful music)
You wanna help
them, don't you, Amber?
Yes.
(suspenseful music)
Close your eyes
and repeat after us.
(suspenseful music)
- I don't know.
- There's nothing
to worry about.
(suspenseful music)
My soul and mind to us.
My soul and mind to us.
To witness the Perfect Eight.
To witness the Perfect Eight.
To bring justice
to those ancestors
and lead them back to
their rightful place.
To bring justice
to those ancestors,
and bring them back to
their rightful place.
To carry on their
faith as we have.
To carry on their
faith as we have.
What do you see, Amber?
Death, women hung,
pleading for help with
her last gas of air.
A little girl scared and alone?
Perfect.
A daughter.
Nikki?
Is this the faith
you believe in?
No.
Do you wanna help them, Amber?
Yes.
(suspenseful music)
(sorority girls chanting)
(suspenseful music)
(Amber screaming)
(suspenseful music)
(sorority girls laughing)
(suspenseful music)
[Spirit Voice] Nikki
has come home.
The circle is complete.
(suspenseful music)
(footsteps echoing)
(suspenseful music)
What are we going to do, Rob?
(suspenseful music)
(Rob sighing)
(suspenseful music)
We just have to
have faith in the Lord
that we're gonna
get through this.
(suspenseful music)
Unless the Lord has
a whole lot of money,
I don't think He's
gonna be much help.
(suspenseful music)
(Rob chuckling)
We can get
through these things.
We've done it before.
(suspenseful music)
I know.
(suspenseful music)
We have to watch how much
we're donating to the church.
I understand how important
it is, but at what cost?
The house?
Amber's education?
(suspenseful music)
We can cut back, all right?
Amber's just gonna
have to understand
that she's not going back.
(suspenseful music)
(footsteps echoing)
Okay?
It's okay.
(suspenseful music)
(footsteps echoing)
What are you
wearing, young lady?
You're gonna take
that off right now.
(suspenseful music)
I'm going back and there's
nothing you can do about it.
(suspenseful music)
Don't be afraid.
(suspenseful music)
Judgment day has fallen upon us.
The devil is upon you.
The devil has
nothing to do with it.
Amber...
(suspenseful music)
You know, I
understand Mrs. Strange
getting out with Jeremy,
but you my, dear mother, I
give you credit for doing
with Mr. Strange to save
the family a few bucks.
What is she
talking about, Lisa?
She's lying.
I would never do
anything like that.
Confess to your husband
before it's too late.
Lisa, what is
she talking about?
(suspenseful music)
I made a deal with James.
(suspenseful music)
When I found out that we can
never pay for the church,
I did what I had to do
to keep the church going.
I'm sorry.
(suspenseful music)
And you did it in the
middle of the living room.
Tsk-tsk-tsk.
(suspenseful music)
Amber, you need to stop
whatever you're doing right now,
and let us go.
(suspenseful music)
- I'm not finished.
- Yes, you are.
(suspenseful music)
I know we should have never
sent you to that place.
It's a haven for evil.
I swear if there
was anything that I...
(neck snapping)
(Lisa screaming)
(suspenseful music)
(body rustling)
(suspenseful music)
(Lisa crying)
Nikki will decide
the fate of this town,
and believe me when I say,
I will be doing you a favor.
(suspenseful music)
Please.
I love you.
Let God back into your life.
(suspenseful music)
I'm sorry, Lisa.
It's too late for that.
Don't worry.
You'll be seeing Him.
(suspenseful music)
(Lisa screaming)
(suspenseful music)
(Amber grunting)
(suspenseful music)
God damn in.
Look what you did.
(suspenseful music)
I love these heels.
(suspenseful music)
(Amber grunting)
(suspenseful music)
(crickets chirping)
(suspenseful music)
Hey, baby.
(suspenseful music)
I didn't mean to startle you.
(suspenseful music)
Little creepy hanging
out in the back over there.
I'm sorry, baby.
Why don't you come here,
and I'll make it up to you.
I still don't think
this is a good idea.
(suspenseful music)
Because of what Nikki said?
You don't need
to worry about that.
She hasn't been feeling
much like herself lately.
That may be true, but
this still isn't right.
You're really gonna let
this opportunity pass you by?
(suspenseful music)
What the fuck?
(suspenseful music)
It's not a very nice
thing to say now, is it?
- Where's Marie?
- Doesn't matter where she is.
I'm here now and
the deal still stands.
(suspenseful music)
Listen, everything that
happened between me and your mom,
it was all her idea.
It was her fault.
- Interesting.
- Nikki, I broke it off.
Moving forward, there's
nothing that's gonna be
happening between me and her.
(suspenseful music)
Promise me?
I swear to God.
(suspenseful music)
Oh, Jeremy, I told you, may
God have mercy on your soul,
and now you're
swearing your life to Him?
Not a good idea.
(suspenseful music)
(Jeremy grunting)
(suspenseful music)
It's times like these I'm
glad I was shown the truth.
(suspenseful music)
(Jeremy gasping)
Nikki, please stop.
Oh, do you think I
have anything to do
with what's happening to you?
(suspenseful music)
(Jeremy gasping)
- I made a mistake.
- A mistake?
You know what a mistake is?
Believing anything
any of you had to say.
(Jeremy crying)
(suspenseful music)
May your insides burn
like the flames of hell.
(suspenseful music)
(Jeremy screaming)
(suspenseful music)
(crickets chirping)
(door creaking)
(crickets chirping)
Nikki?
What's going on here?
Where did you get that shirt?
(suspenseful music)
(furniture rustling)
(suspenseful music)
(paper rustling)
(suspenseful music)
"I miss you so much.
College life has been
stressful to say the least,
but I know I have God
to guide me through it."
Aw, isn't that sweet?
(suspenseful music)
"I'm still waiting to
get a letter from you."
I hope you didn't
forget about me.
Anyways, I'm already
looking forward
to seeing you in the summer.
Love you, Nikki.
May God be with you.
"Love, Amber."
(suspenseful music)
Quite the entrepreneurial
thing Bob has got going on,
(suspenseful music)
And this, found this
little piece of wardrobe
in the same closet
as all this shit.
(suspenseful music)
(footsteps echoing)
[Marie] You had no
right to go into our room.
Now I know where you've
been hiding all these years,
you whore.
(suspenseful music)
(Marie breathing hard)
You know something,
Mama?
(suspenseful music)
I have lived my entire life
under yours and Papa's rules,
but those days are over.
(suspenseful music)
You know what
really pissed me off?
It wasn't that you
were fucking Jeremy,
which won't ever
be happening again,
or that Papa was
scamming the entire town.
(suspenseful music)
No, it was this.
(suspenseful music)
You hid these from me.
[Marie] We were
trying to protect you.
Liar.
(suspenseful music)
You used the Word of God
to mask the truth, to lie.
You did nothing as Papa thought
his sick fantasies of me,
and to fuck with me even more,
I found this, as well.
(suspenseful music)
Is this why you didn't want
me hanging around Amber?
Is it?
Ask her what her and
James did to my daughter.
Your true mother.
(suspenseful music)
What did you do?
(suspenseful music)
Answer me.
(suspenseful music)
I met Carrie-Ann in college.
She was so outgoing, and
we connected immediately.
She was a member of a sorority,
a leader of a group of women
who followed the same
faith that your mother did.
(suspenseful music)
The magic they performed
was mesmerizing and amazing.
They worshiped her like I did,
'cause she taught
them how to get anything
or anybody that they wanted.
(suspenseful music)
She would tell
these stories about
how her family was slaughtered
by the townspeople of Perfect,
how one day they would
come back and seek revenge,
(suspenseful music)
And when that day happened,
that she would reward them
with unimaginable treasures.
(suspenseful music)
She said that she
was the only one
who escaped that horrible night.
It never occurred to me
how crazy that sounded,
because she would
have been centuries old.
Simple-minded fools.
(suspenseful music)
When I met your father,
he not only took my heart,
but he showed me
the ways of the Lord.
Yes, your mother despised this,
but she found him desirable.
She used magic to force him
to conceive a child with her,
a child conceived
with a follower of God
and a resident of the town
that killed her forefathers.
(suspenseful music)
A child that she waited centuries
to bring into this world,
a child who would bring her
family back from the dead.
(suspenseful music)
He didn't know what happened,
(suspenseful music)
But I knew what she did.
(suspenseful music)
When I found out,
I was so angry,
(suspenseful music)
(Marie sighing)
But I forgave him,
and we kept it in for months,
knowing what we must do.
(suspenseful music)
I couldn't harm the precious
life growing inside her,
but once you were born,
we had to protect you.
So we...
(suspenseful music)
What did you do?
(suspenseful music)
We couldn't...
We couldn't let you
fall into the same evil
your mother came from.
(suspenseful music)
(Marie sobbing)
We had no choice.
(suspenseful music)
(Mary sobbing)
What did my mother look like?
(suspenseful music)
You have it in
your mind to see her.
[Carrie-Ann] You
turned out to be
a beautiful young girl, Nikki.
(suspenseful music)
Mom?
(suspenseful music)
It's a pleasure to see
you again, my daughter.
It's good to see
you too, Mother.
How could you
possibly be my mother?
The possibilities of the craft
from which you were
conceived are endless.
The powers you hold within,
you can do amazing
things, Nikki.
My life would've continued on
forever if it wasn't for her.
(somber music)
I could have watched you
grow up with my own eyes.
I could have protected you
from the deception
you were raised in.
(somber music)
I suppose I can only be grateful
(somber music)
For the one who allowed
our followers to find you
and bring forth the
resurrection of our people.
Don't listen to these demons.
(somber music)
Let God back
into your life, Nikki.
(somber music)
Now that you are
where you truly belong,
we can be together again.
(somber music)
I'm sorry, Nikki.
(somber music)
I only wanted to keep you safe.
(somber music)
Please, they're not
who they seem to be.
They stand against everything
that you were
brought up to believe.
(somber music)
And what's that?
To love and cherish
the people close to you.
(somber music)
You know what I think?
(somber music)
I think it's jealousy.
I think you couldn't stand that
I wasn't your real daughter.
That I was a child, a
bastard child from an affair
between father
and my real mother.
It's not true.
I love you, Nikki.
You love no one
(somber music)
Besides the blind hatred
towards my mother.
That's why you allowed Father
to stare at me when
I was vulnerable,
to fuck Jeremy, so you
could feel the pleasure
of cheating on Father,
just like he did you.
(somber music)
(Marie crying)
(suspenseful music)
You murdered my mother.
- God, save me.
(somber music)
(Marie screaming)
He's not listening.
(somber music)
(Marie screaming)
(brush rustling)
(Marie screaming)
(suspenseful music)
(head slamming)
(suspenseful music)
(Nikki gasping for air)
We must go.
(suspenseful music)
The sacrifice has begun.
(suspenseful music)
There's two I
don't wanna hurt.
We know, dear.
He is spared and you
may enjoy his pleasure
whenever you desire.
(suspenseful music)
There's one last
thing I need to do.
(suspenseful music)
(door creaking)
(suspenseful music)
Welcome home, Papa.
(suspenseful music)
(light switch clicking)
(footsteps echoing)
(suspenseful music)
Nikki, what are you doing?
(suspenseful music)
I've sinned, Papa,
I need to be punished.
(suspenseful music)
(James sighing)
What's going on here?
(suspenseful music)
Where did you get that?
The belt?
The stuff on the floor.
(Nikki laughing)
(suspenseful music)
That.
You know, Mama had
the same very question.
(suspenseful music)
Where's your mother?
(suspenseful music)
You're taking
the fun out of this.
(suspenseful music)
(Nikki sighing)
(suspenseful music)
Mama committed adultery,
and I tried to get
her to pray with me,
but she couldn't
see her way to do it.
(suspenseful music)
She's in the bathroom.
(footsteps echoing)
(suspenseful music)
(suspenseful music)
(James gasping)
No, no, no, no.
(suspenseful music)
Marie.
(suspenseful music)
No.
(suspenseful music)
(suspenseful music)
(James gasping)
You neglected
your wife, James.
She was unfaithful, so I did
what I thought
needed to be done.
(suspenseful music)
I'm taking care of your greed.
I'm cleansing the
world of sinners.
I'm doing the Lord's work, Papa.
The least you
could do is thank me.
Please, stop.
(suspenseful music)
The Lord will never
have mercy on your soul.
(James grunting)
(suspenseful music)
(Nikki sighing)
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
(suspenseful music)
Mom.
Mom, where's everyone going?
Mom, what are you doing?
Mom.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
Where are the rest of them?
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
Our apologies.
Some of us took it upon
our self to follow our Savior
and eliminate most
of the town's people
before the sacrifice.
It's fine, Mother, for
today, our lives begin again.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
You two.
Come forward.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
There's something about you.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
What's going on here?
Your roots are
buried deep in this town.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
Matthew...
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
What have you done to him?
Answer my question.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
My family started the town.
Does the name
Arthur come to mind?
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
Well, yeah.
He's the one that
started Perfect.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
I don't see what this
has to do with anything.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
Oh, what a handsome young man.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
I too have a beautiful daughter
who died at the hands of Arthur.
Do you have any
idea what it's like
to watch the one you love die
right before your very eyes?
I swear to God,
if you harm him...
God?
(Marie laughing)
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
Free his mind.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
Dad.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
Tell him everything's
gonna be all right.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
It's gonna be okay, son.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
I'm going to... (rope rustling)
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
Matthew.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
May that image
be the last you see
before you're
sent to burn in hell,
your body, your
mind for us to control.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
This is the beginning
of our glorious return,
for our lost prodigy
has returned home
to give us back
the flesh and blood
that was so wrongfully
taken from us,
my granddaughter, who
suffered through the torture
of falsehoods and
pain, has seen the light
of the treacherous murder
of her mother, my daughter.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
(footsteps rustling)
(suspenseful music)
My family.
The time has come for
us to cleanse this town,
and begin a new
chapter in Perfect.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
Come forward, Jake.
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
What's going on, Nikki?
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
I know this may all
seem out of the ordinary,
but trust me when I say,
everything is going to be fine.
What's going on with my mom?
Who are these people?
What have they done to everyone?
I know her thoughts about
you, as does my family.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
Jake, this town is nothing like
what we were led to believe.
What are you talking about?
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
My heart to your heart,
may they beat as one.
May our desires carry us
into a world full of lust,
love and sin.
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
Your love for me
shall never waver.
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
You've broken free
from what blinded you
from what you wanted.
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
It's best you don't see
what's about to happen.
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
You all will now face judgment
for the crimes of
your ancestors.
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
Sinners.
- Sinners.
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
(ropes rustling)
(necks cracking)
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
Don't worry, Madeline,
I'll take good care of your son.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
It was a pleasure to witness,
all made possible
by the three of you.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
Nikki, it is these three
ladies who led us to you.
Without them,
we'd be lost forever.
It is an honor to
finally meet you, Nikki.
We've heard so much about you.
Our studies of your people's
craft have brought us life.
But we can't
take all the credit.
We were, as you
would've said, blessed
to find someone
who would allow us
to deliver your family to you.
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
Amber?
I'm sorry I had to come to this,
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
But we knew it
would be too difficult
to break you away
from your beliefs.
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
- It was you?
- When I met these girls,
my life changed forever,
just like yours has.
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
Why would you do this to me?
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
I didn't do anything
except help open your eyes.
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
Where are your parents?
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
We gave them to God just
like they would've wanted.
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
Without Amber, we would've
never have found you,
and we would've been trapped
in the darkness forever.
Think of the possibilities.
We can spread our
devotion anywhere we want,
a new religion to
consume the fraud
that we once gave our hearts to.
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
This is what you
were born to do.
You are our savior.
It's because of you
this town has been
cleansed from imperfection.
We may now move forward
to seize the opportunity
to perfect all those
who will listen,
just as your mother had done.
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
You are of pure bloodlines,
and I can only imagine the
knowledge that flows through you,
and I would be
honored, as your friend,
for you to teach me
everything you know.
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
What have I done?
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
What you've done is
to fulfill your destiny.
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
Give in to your desires.
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
Your new life begins tonight.
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
We can be together like we
were always meant to be.
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
I call upon the
winds of death.
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
Nikki, what are you doing?
To cast us all into a
never-ending darkness.
If you do this, you're
throwing yourself
into that darkness, as well.
Daughter, don't do this.
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
May the winds of death
carry our souls
forever into the night.
(suspenseful music)
(witches shrieking)
I never got to tell you
how much you mean to me.
Nikki?
(suspenseful music)
(birds chirping)
(body sizzling)
(emotional music)
(emotional music)
(birds chirping)
(Police Radio speaking)
Jake, I know this
isn't easy for you,
but we need to find
out what happened.
Please, son, you are
the only one at the scene,
so you need to understand,
this does not look good.
(Police Radio speaking)
The seventh deadly sin,
sloth, if I remember correctly.
Did you avoid
your spiritual belief?
Do you believe
in the human soul?
That has nothing
to do with this.
But it does.
There's so much more to
this than you can imagine.
(Police Radio speaking)
What else is there to imagine?
An entire town has
been slaughtered.
Your own mother was found
hanging with several others,
not to mention the bodies
scattered throughout town.
Please, Jake, what happened
to Nikki Strange
and Amber Holden?
Their bodies were never found.
Do you know where they went?
(birds chirping)
Oh, you think this is funny?
Right now, you're an
accessory to murder.
You know what that means?
That means that you will
be locked up for life,
unless you cooperate.
(crickets chirping)
(Police Radio speaking)
Let him sit here for a while.
(Police Radio speaking)
(crickets chirping)
(footsteps echoing)
(Police Radio speaking)
(suspenseful music)
Everything's going
to be fine, Jake.
Will I be with God now?
(suspenseful music)
You'll be with me.
(suspenseful music)
(crickets chirping)
(Police Radio speaking)
(suspenseful music)
(Police Radio speaking)
(suspenseful music continues)
(Police Radio speaking)
(suspenseful music continues)
(suspenseful music continues)
(suspenseful music continues)
(suspenseful music continues)
(suspenseful music fades out)
