RADWIMPS 20th Anniversary Live Tour (2026) Movie Script
Now where do I begin
To explain how I feel?
Its a long story but Ill try my best
Even God must be surprised coz humans
Are not supposed to be like you
Youre the most beautiful variant
Of this century
What made your mom and dad's
Hearts close enough to fuse
Two minds too close
To just blame it on time
But now they won't meet each other's eyes
No "I'm home" replies
You look at them
With teary eyes and whisper
"Here I am
Proof of your love
Please say theres not a single lie
Coz if you dont love each other anymore
My whole existence will be a lie
Dont make TIME into a liar"
You're the light that connects
The promise they made to each other
Back then to the present
"Father, mother," you say
With a trembling voice and teary eyes
Both of which you inherited half of
From each of them
You say you cant believe in the miracle
Of how you came into this world
You say you cant believe in the miracle
Of how you and I met
We pierced our ears in the same spot
But only yours shine bright
Will mine shine one day too?
Can I love the world like you do?
Even if my heart decays
And I draw my last breath rotting away
In my final moments
I want to see the world through your eyes
Thank you.
Coz I've decided that even when we're 50
we'll sleep in the same bed
If we hold hands
Till our blood becomes one
We'll never be apart
Let's keep dreaming this dream forever
We'll say we never have to wake up
If a dream is meant to be woken from
Then lets call it something else
Lets read "You" as "Love"
And "I" as "Love"
That way we'll never be apart
Ill write a song about it one day
They just want to call it a miracle
The fact that you and I met
But a miracle birthed this planet
So everything that happens on it
Has to be a miracle
Suppose the Eastern Zodiac
Says its an unlucky year
Suppose Im a Jovian, and you a Martian
Like you say
I'm an Earthling
But even if I were from Jupiter
It's just a planet away
Ill use my once-in-a-lifetime power
To warp now
I want to believe in the miracle
That you and I met
Miracle or not
I'm just grateful that we met
You say its a miracle
How beautiful, how wonderful
Riding atop the ultra-high-speed cycle
Of reincarnation
What kinda dance am I supposed to dance?
You cant be too cool or too sloppy
And its not just me
Who feels this way, I guess
Its kinda cringe, kinda nostalgic
Kinda makes me want to hear your song
Blindfolded, spirited away
Whos gonna get me all messed up?
Concerto-like virtual enemy
Natsume Soseki-style
Wasteless love of mine
Direct and inward
Like personal property no one can invade
Or can
They?
Does it turn you off?
What's up, Ariake?
Shed the world of yesterday
Its time to set out to sea
Forget the future
Drawn up in this little mind
Leave all your luggage behind
Just grab a bag and run
I was never a good dreamer
Listening to others with a cold gaze
"Is that it?
I can do much better than that!"
Always roaring in my head
Can you jump?
I missed you.
My head's full of noise
Someone preaching again
The world only listens
To the words of the winners
No mic aimed at the losers
Jump!
There's the world in that bright light
Grazing the tips
Of my outstretched fingers
If I could be with you
On a night like this
I feel like I can reach the light tonight
Let me hear you!
It's the last show. Is that all you got?
Keep singing.
I love you!
I love you!
Good evening. We are RADWIMPS.
Welcome to the finale
of our 20th anniversary tour.
Thank you for coming.
Man, it just went by in a flash.
I feel like we could have done
30 or 40 more shows.
Don't you think?
Yeah, it's weird.
It's just, how do I put it
I still have fuel left in the tank.
There's just so much energy
still coursing through me.
How about I inject
that 30 or 40 shows' worth of energy
into the rest of this one?
That sound good?
It's almost the end of the year.
Is your year over yet?
Done with school and work?
- Yes!
- You're done?
How many people are done?
That's awesome.
How many still have some work left?
- Me!
- Here!
Thank you. You guys are
what keep Japan running.
Thanks a lot.
I'm sure some of you
put in tons of effort this year,
while others couldn't really
get much done.
But there is a saying in Japan that goes,
"All's well that ends well."
Ever heard that one? Have you?
- Do you know it?
- We know!
I know!
- Yes, we know!
- Right.
How about the people on the upper floors?
Can you guys hear us?
We see you, okay?
Okay, then let's end the year
in a way that makes all 13,000 people here
think 2025 was an amazing year.
How does that sound?
Can't hear you.
Do you want to make it an amazing year?
You'd better keep up.
Stick with us till the end.
There's all kinds of things
Overflowing in the world
But whats here and whats not here
Thats all
We have
Whats the one thing we can say
For sure right now?
That we are all alive
And that we will all die
That's about it
And still, hoping to find something more
I sing
I sing
Between you
Or all of humanity
If I could save just one
Which would I choose?
No doubt, its YOU!
Monday, we cry
Tuesday, we throw up
Wednesday, we say were done, but
Saturday, Sunday, its OK to smile
We love you!
Mutual love, in a word
Is like planets aligning
Upon the sacrifice
Of a billion unrequited loves
Shining and twinkling
Don't tell me you forgot! Have you?
Make our hearts full of the miracle
Of having found each other
Love, stars, songs
All will fade someday, they say
So what?
Your lips make all those things
Feel so trivial
As time grows jealous of us
It quickens its pace
Unfazed, we grin, holding each other tight
Jun Shirakawa on the guitar.
Theres never been a decent quote
That starts with "Love is"
Forget all that, what truly matters is
How wild we can get
While still kissing
Exploring a love yet unknown to humankind
This city, people, buildings
All will crumble to dust
One day
That thought makes everything glow
On the eve of decay
Though we have no dreams
We drift like vagabonds
Like "a person beside dream"
The kanji for "ephemeral"
I declare war against my own child
I know I'll be jealous,
Yeah, I can already imagine
What a lucky little boy
To be blood-related to you
Losing all my maturity
I lose my patience and cry
I have many questions to ask you
My boy, newly born
How was your mommy's tummy?
How was the view
That I'll never get to see?
Must've been beautiful
Ten months and ten days you travelled
So happy and frustrated
'Cause you know things I don't know
He's my child, he can barely walk
But I can't lose this game
I'll play fair man-to-man
No lullaby nor bedtime story
No fairy tales to read you boy
Let me tell you your mom's story
Before you came
A story like no other in this world
It's my story
She shattered things into pieces
Stirred up troubles
Made my world twinkle
With a blinding light
My days before I met her
Were a trailer of what was to come
Your mom's game plan
Was to make everything her own
I fell right into it
One day you'll understand
It was luck
A lifetime's worth, packed to the brim
Used at the right time
And in the right way
Thank you.
We love you!
It made me shine, but made you blue
Was our dream a burden
On our loves shoulders?
I forgot
How to hate you
Cant seem to find it anywhere
That day, if you had to do it
You couldve told me
Along with saying "Goodbye"
How to break our promise
How to love someone else
But honestly, I dont want to know
Didnt we promise to be together till 100?
Didnt expect our 101st year
To come this quickly
Im so sorry for saying all these things
My head already knows but my heart says no
But, someone like me
Was made
And saved by
Not my dad, nor my mom
Nor any God, I think
Which leaves me to think that it was you
If I'm ever with someone else
And we have a baby together
Your genes will surely, secretly
Find their way into them too
But without you, it wont be fun
Ill just wait until 2085, biding my time
Thank you for everything
Im sorry for everything
Its my turn to wait
Whether youre alive or not
Because its the first time
I made a promise while smiling
- With this "Goodbye"
- The sky is beautiful
People are sad
- Let me say
- Cleanse me with an obvious truth
If theres a next time
- "Thank you"
- You are the one that I love
I am the one that loves you
- "Im sorry"
- That's how I learned to cherish myself
If I were to name this love
It would be "Thank you"
We love you!
Are you having fun? Are you?
Every song we perform, I can't help
but think about how the tour ends today.
It feels really sad.
But it's also super fun. Thank you.
Do I look okay without the hat?
You look great!
Do I look okay?
- Do I?
- You look cute!
Is my hair sticking up anywhere?
- You sure? Thank you.
- You look great!
Everything's being recorded today.
Yeah.
Maybe you'll get to watch it
somewhere eventually.
But you know,
you're in it too, just so you know.
Don't try to look good
for the camera though, okay?
Nothing would make us happier
than for you to sing with an ugly face
until your throat gets hoarse.
Man.
Got nothing more to say.
Yup.
You guys are the best. I'll sing now.
No matter how much
I tell my tears theyre useless
They refuse to leave my life
The past keeps piling up
The future has zero visibility
I stand caught in between, feeling dizzy
By our own hands, weve torn up
The letter that defines our birth
And have kicked open the door of the world
We are born travelers, born rebels
From teachings of life lessons
And stories to astrology or statistics
Along with long lists of references
Human society overflows with chaos
Days seem to have no room to prevail
Yet well live another day
In this challenging G-level life, IZA!
As tomorrow draws us closer
To the inevitable end
It even seems to glow with light
A key you hold
So magical, mysterious, and dear
Why is it in your hand?
Sometimes, it doesnt seem right
Yet kudos to the divine judgment
That entrusted you with it, BANZAI!
Where do we go, riding on this wind
A newborn today is calling out to me
Someone says
"Theres no such thing as being wrong"
"Youre right"
"Youre not"
As I go around in circles
More sorrow and regrets
Will await us ahead
I know that, but Ill choose to live
Another day with you
"Good morning" to a brand new day
In my palm, heart line, destiny line
And love line cross diagonally
Clashing, sending sparks flying
Fueled by the rising flames
It's not a matter of luck
Or whats more certain
Now's not the time
To be talking about that, IZA!
When the time comes
We must return this life
We borrowed and pretended
As if we owned it
Caressing, giving up
Recklessly stuffing memories in at random,
And escaping into them
Why not make a one-of-a-kind bundle
To return what we borrowed
Secretly hoping
I'll get laughed at, and be told
"Forget it, just keep it"
Thats the kind of life I wanna live
With you
You're awesome!
You know
Im not human, Im really sorry
I look
I think we can call that a mistake.
It was going perfectly until now.
It was going so well.
Exceedingly well.
Hiroki, don't make it brighter.
Make it darker.
I've got this. There we go.
Can we go fully dark again?
There we go.
You know
Im not human, Im really sorry
I look so much like a human
People think I am one
Im not human, then what am I?
That itself is a mystery
I havent got a clue
I know I look like a human
And people treat me like one
I do my best
To live up to their expectations
Wake up with a smile, empathy, humility
Self-sacrifice, tenderness
Live up to 100 million or more
Necessary rules of life
But my efforts end in vain
Coz Im only a copycat
One by one, people leave
As my humanity falls off
I make people I care about happy
And laugh at things that arent funny
I dont even know
Which face Im wearing now
Im not human, Im really sorry
I look so much like a human
People think I am one
Im not human, then what am I?
That itself is a mystery
I havent got a clue
One day, could I be a real human?
So I hope in my dreams
Live moderately honest
Work moderately hard
Pretending that I'm completely fine
Sometimes shedding tears
Sometimes I forget how happy I am
And blame others
Make you angry, irritated and sad
What am I?
If its going to be like this
They shouldve made
My appearance far from human
Wanna live for somebody
Wanna leave my mark
Even at this stage
Im saying things like a human
As a human I failed to clear
The very first level
Oh how dare I!
People have every right to be angry
Im not human, Im really sorry
I look so much like a human
People think I am one
Can I become human? Somebody respond?
Would you forgive me
For copying human life?
Im not human, Im really sorry
I look so much like a human
I cant quite give up
Still, I wanna be a human
Even though Im just a fake
We've managed to get to
what people call a major debut.
- We're at that stage--
- You've got this.
Thank you.
Well, I obviously didn't expect
the band to last 20 years back then,
nor did I expect that the songs
we were creating at that time
would still be known 20 years later.
We poured all our focus
and energy into creating those songs,
but we were only focused on the present.
Let's try with the mandolin.
There were many times we could have quit.
We had plenty of moments that felt
like ending points for a band,
given that we've been
at this for 20 years.
There were some even before Satoshi left.
There were moments
when we were in the studio
and just couldn't create anything.
It really felt hard
for all of us to even breathe.
I remember thinking, "Oh, this is
probably how bands meet their end."
The time Satoshi left
was one of those moments.
Of course, it was the same
when Kuwahara left.
Yeah, I think the time Satoshi left
was definitely a big turning point.
It was a pretty important time
for us when he left.
We had our tenth anniversary
soon after that.
Yeah.
We had things lined up,
and it made us feel like
we didn't want it to end there,
after doing this for ten years.
Yeah, we had our tenth anniversary tour
right after that happened,
and it allowed us
to feel glad that we continued.
It would've been tough without that.
THE 2020 JAPAN TOUR HAS BEEN CANCELLED
It's very different
from our first ten years.
We were really able to enjoy
that miraculous moment,
and we're as prepared for it as we can be.
I really wanted people
to have an experience
that they could only have
at a RADWIMPS concert.
- And I feel like we were able to do it.
- Right?
I feel like we're still chasing
after the values and ideals
from when we named ourselves RADWIMPS.
We're pursuing that name's meaning.
I'm unsure what exactly it entails,
but I'm still chasing after it.
It's gaining many different meanings
in the hearts of many different people,
but it still hasn't fully settled for me.
Anything that felt off to me,
or strange, or mysterious,
I would express it in our music.
As I kept doing that,
it happened to resonate with others,
and it made me realize
that I wasn't alone.
Thinking back, I can appreciate
how that was part of what kept me going.
They made me feel like I wasn't alone,
in a very meaningful way.
I'm really grateful for that.
THANK YOU FOR DISCOVERING RADWIMPS
Since when did I
Picture myself in your future?
Since when did I hope
My future and yours would overlap?
Since when?
I wont say, its too embarrassing
Let us be the future, starting today
I break a sweat and look around
Before I flash a smile
But then I found
A beautiful bundle of colors
Standing out from the crowd
And I knew it was you
"I found something precious"
Thought I heard a voice from inside
How can anyone monopolize me
To my very core?
The world is uncertain
But you and I can be the exception
You need to be strong to live
Fragile to cry
On this planet
Theres a little too much of both
Gods who got bored
Must have sent you to me
And if that was the case
I thank you, Ill say it again
Thank you very much
Let me say this coz its important
Ill use my unopened courage here
For the very first time
How can anyone monopolize me
To my very core?
The world is uncertain
But there is one certain thing right here
Lets catch a cold
Together
Lets sneak away from our 3:00 a.m. dream
And leave the world behind
Since when did I
Picture myself in your future?
Right here today
Let's make my future and yours
Have the same meaning
How can anyone monopolize me
To my very core?
The world is uncertain
But you and I can be the exception
How can anyone monopolize me
To my very core?
The world is uncertain
But there is one certain thing right here
Voila, there it is now
Good evening. I'm Takeda, the bassist.
How are you guys here in Tokyo doing?
Enjoying yourselves?
Sounds good.
This is what, our ninth city
and our 17th show?
The Tokyo finale.
We're home, Tokyo!
It's good to be home, really.
Thanks a lot for coming today
to our final show on the tour.
The only reason we're able
to be on stage like this
Look at how excited Yojiro is.
We only get to do these shows
because you guys turn up.
Thanks a ton.
Now, I would like to introduce the people
performing with us on this tour.
First off, behind me
is the left-side drummer, Mizuki Mori!
The right-side drummer is Masafumi Eno.
And our guitarist, Jun Shirakawa.
How did you like the tour, Jun?
It's going to end today.
- It kind of flew by.
- It flew by? Was it fun?
It was a lot of fun.
That's great.
Jun joined us
for the first time on this tour.
I'm glad you had fun.
- Thank you. Give it up for Jun.
- Thanks.
Now then,
we're actually here to pay back
the last 20 years' worth of gratitude.
We're going to move around
a bit more from now.
How does that sound?
We want to get even wilder!
How does that sound?
Was that loud enough?
Was that loud enough?
No. Maybe some people
are still in the restroom.
The restroom, huh?
Yeah, let's give them a little more time.
- Okay?
- Sure.
Maybe the people above
want to sit a bit longer.
- True.
- I can tell.
Wait, you can keep sitting.
- Sorry, you don't have to stand.
- Our bad.
No, please, keep sitting.
Let's just sit down, yeah?
So how was your year?
How many people here
thought 2025 was a good year?
- It was the best!
- Oh, wow.
That's awesome.
How many people thought it was just bad?
Yeah, some years are just not it.
I want to know what went wrong.
I'm sure there's a lot.
- I got married!
- You got married?
- Congrats.
- Wow, congrats.
I see.
You beat me to the punch, huh?
That's fine. Go on. Be happy.
Did anyone get divorced?
That many? Really?
- There's a lot over there.
- I'm sorry.
I'm just glad that you're raising
your hands so cheerfully.
Your future is bright.
Give it your best from tomorrow.
Consider it the start of a new chapter.
It's a new beginning.
Put your best foot forward.
This year marks the 20th anniversary
of our major debut.
The band itself started 25 years ago.
I've been playing in this band
since I was 15,
and I've spent all this time
just trying to convey myself,
but it has been a surprisingly
dense and eventful journey.
Right? It didn't feel
like a blur or anything.
- There was meat to it.
- It felt like a full 20 years.
Yeah.
Did you manage to receive them?
Our feelings about our 20th anniversary.
Really? You sure?
Really? I'm glad.
That's good.
We don't have any plans
for our 21st year onward.
We're just grateful to you
for being part of our journey,
for discovering us and listening to us.
We also wanted to pay back the favor
to those who've worked with us.
We came all this way
with those things as our driving force.
So from next year onwards
Well, I guess we'll just do more music.
I want us to be even more free-spirited
and make a lot of wild music,
so we'll put everything we have into it.
Are your friends back from the restroom?
Not back yet!
- Not yet, huh?
- Still not back? That's a long time.
It's all good. Take your time.
How was your Christmas?
Awesome!
Was it awesome? Oh, I see some no's.
- No's?
- Over there.
- Wow, that's a lot.
- How many had a bad Christmas?
Nice, even your voices lack enthusiasm.
Who had a great Christmas?
Japan has a bright future.
Have lots of babies.
I guess that's unrelated.
Keep loving each other.
It's close to a miracle
for two people to love each other.
It's miraculous for the person
you love to also love you back.
Don't take it for granted, okay?
Cherish what you have.
I want to show you something.
Is that okay with you?
What is it?
Does anyone recognize this?
Let me explain.
It was How many years ago now?
I think 15 or 16 years ago.
I wore this in a music video
for a song titled "Oshakasama."
I took this out of storage,
and it's still in good shape.
- How does it look?
- Cute!
- Looks great!
- You think it looks good?
Okay.
This is a significant event,
so I figured I would wear this.
Shall we do the song then?
You can do better than that.
Shall we do this song?
People on the upper floors, you can do
whatever as long as you don't fall.
And you guys on the first floor,
let's make the ground shake
like it never has in this venue.
Theres too many crows, lets kill 'em
Monkeys too, lets reduce 'em
Giant pandas are less so we increase 'em
Humans are never enough, let 'em multiply
We always pray and worship
And before we knew it
Weve become the God of our own
Who the hell do we think we are?
Never seen one myself
Saw it in the paintings here and there
Heard about it from people talking
All in the shape of a human being
Mere coincidence? A convergence of fate?
Or just sketches of the mind?
This, that, which way?
Wheres the truth? Da Vinci
Maybe there's a next life
Maybe not, so what?
Believe in it or not
What difference does it make?
Humans do whatever they please
Reigning over this food chain game
Yet they still insist
There's a higher position to reach
If I were a God making decisions
I wouldn't make the world in seven days
Id take more time, make more plans
It was made in a hurry, cut-and-pasted
Made to break
We repeat to increase and decrease
Ask questions, why, why, why?
Pretend we dont know the answer
"Tell me, tell me, why, why, why?"
Coz humans are fools
It makes perfect sense
Let 'em go down on the count of three
Coz, coz, coz
Once a fool, always a fool
So what good is it to think?
I hope I do better in my next life
But what about my life now?
Mish and mash, put 'em together
Hugger and mugger, put 'em together
Why believe in the future
When all is ruined?
Whats left for later
When all is disposed of?
But, but, but, yet, yet, yet
What, what, what?
Whatever we say, whatever we do, say no
Then what do we do?
Where do we go?
Stay or leave, either way
If we cant go, then where to?
Maybe there's a next life,
Maybe not, so what?
Believe in it or not
What difference does it make?
Make it into Heaven or Hell, whichever
Its not up or down
You can always turn sideways
So which will it be today?
An endless babbling victim
Blaming it all on the world
Or an all-out apologetic perpetrator?
Those who chose the former
You got it right
Give yourself a try
You can probably walk past
The worlds unluckiest person now
Unstoppable tears of emotions
A record-breaking blockbuster
Thats cool
But the question is
Whos making you cry?
How many more morons
Must I learn to talk to
Before I get to trust a strangers tears?
That being my only question
I'll wake up again, but
To swim in this swimming pool
Makes me sick, Im about to vomit
Ew
Will your love and my stubborn ways
Ever see beyond tomorrow?
Whoever is left in the afternoon
Of the doomsday
Is the winner
You ready?
I don't mind you hating me one bit
But somehow, it bothers me a lot
To have a dog bark at me
This world is about escaping
From sleepless nights and corpses
Busyness, poverty, boredom
And expectations
Red light, green light played in reverse
Never mind who did what
Or how it is and how it will be
And no matter how much
You pretend that you care
All the things you do
Are only done to fulfill
One of your many desires
How awesome
Will your "but" and my "yet"
Ever see beyond tomorrow?
For once, I'd like to make
A 100 percent pure sacrifice of myself
Will your love and my stubborn ways
Ever see beyond tomorrow?
Whoever is left in the afternoon
Of the doomsday
Is the winner
Victims are the invincible ones
It's time for them to rise again
Whos laughing three secs before the end?
Yeah, thats gonna be me
I love you!
Theres a 20% chance of rain today
Whether that feels high or low
Is up to you
Taking an umbrella or not
Thats a matter of resolve
If your confession only has a 20% chance
Of success, there isnt much you can do
Its probably a losing game
The rest is up to how you lose with grace
If there's no longer any meaning
To these games we play
Let me put this heart to rest
For example
In the end credits of the film you lead
I dont know where my name will appear
I may be buried among many others now
But one day
My name will appear right after yours
Im aiming for your Best Actor Award
My phone batterys at 12%
And its only past two in the afternoon
If, on a whim, you ever reached out to me
Thatd be an emergency
Id rather not know my survival
Probability 20 years from now
There are things Id rather know
There are things I tell no one
What if I traded every wish
Thats ever come true in my life
Would that still not be enough?
For example
If, by some astronomical probability
Your tongue and mine were to touch
My ancestors and descendants would all
Be on their feet, cheering with joy
If this isnt a flutter
What else can you call it?
This pale and opaque love
Where all my strength and innocence meet
Oratory in the vein of Mishima
Prose in the vein of Dazai
I want to tell you this
In 0.2 sec, we fall in love,
Then we dive in with our entire being
And bear a deep, heavy wound that
Wont heal, even after a thousand years
Thank you.
This world still wants
To tame me it seems
If thats how it is
I will strive with grace
Let us kiss
While we watch each others hourglasses
And meet at the farthest place
From goodbye
Time has come
The past is just the pre-preface
You can just skim through it
'Cause "I" start here
Experience, knowledge
And mold growing bravery
Let me dive into you at unparalleled speed
In a daze, staring into lukewarm cola
I dreamt of somewhere not here
Outside the classroom window
In the morning carried by the train
Let us fall in love
At the place where words
Like fate or future
Are far beyond reach
Clock hands move
As they cast a glance at us
Such is the world
But with you I can live all my life
No matter how many chapters there may be
We gave up our wings to fly
And chose to hold each others hands
But the sky above kept us transfixed
Is it a crime to dream another dream?
Summer sees the back of autumn
Guessing what it looks like from behind
Is this yearning, is this love?
Its unrequited, we know
Long before the passing rain
Ever had a name
Long before sunlight
Filtering through the trees had a name
You were you, werent you?
Today, for once in a thousand years
Gravity falls asleep
Lets stand on the blind side of the sun
To leave this planet now
When hes awake
Well be where they cant bring us back
On the count of three, kick off the earth
To another planet
We go
An inch away
From the other side of our fate
An inch away
From the other side of our civilization
We go
An inch away
From the other side of our fate
Its just an inch away
We go
An inch away
From the other side of our fate
An inch away
From the other side of our civilization
We go
An inch away
From the other side of our fate
Its just an inch away
Lets raise the sail of our dream
For the day to come
When the night is through
Here we are with hearts full of hope
That the rest would take care of itself
Put my arm around you
Its not that were not scared
But we wont stop
We may get ahead of hard times
But what good does it do?
Our love tells us
A voice tells us
To go
Im glad I kept doing
This thing called a rock band
'Cause now I know
I wasn't wrong
"Nice to meet you," she said
Her exceptionally big eyes
Wavered as she looked me in the eyes
That was the spring of fourteen
Ever since then
"Ive always heard your voice"
What can I say?
Her face crumpled like a lost child's
No need to say it
I know how you feel, thank you
It's a feel-good day today
We knew each others "voice"
From years ago
A lot of catching-up to do
For childhood friends
Somehow I've always felt
That Im living in a time
Just hovering at one place
Today, in the spring of twenty-one
You came to me
With a reply to my letter from the past
Im glad I kept doing
This thing called a rock band
'Cause now I know I wasn't wrong
Those dreams dashed off
Sent in a blank envelope
Those feelings exposed unashamedly
You found them, kept them, and we met
Got closer than any next friend
Without knowing each others name
You say we talked
Day in, day out
Rain or shine, in storm or snow
At times we hated, went different ways
Got out of touch
But in the end, came back
When nobody is listening
When popular songs are all we hear
I had this song with me
Im glad I kept doing
This thing called a rock band
Though I was the least sociable
Uncommunicative type
I see now how we exchanged our thoughts
Im glad I kept doing
This thing called a rock band
The state of my self-defending mind
Tedious awkward confessions
I dashed them off
Threw them up in the air
They got blown away
In the wind and disappeared
But you found them, kept them
Picked my voice up
Tinier than the wind
Into the distance
Let the songs fly
Those dreams dashed off
Sent in a blank envelope
Those feelings exposed unashamedly
That disgraceful behavior
Lashing out at everyone
Those hopes I let run wild, spilling over
Dashed them off for twenty years
Then she appeared before my eyes
Holding in her hands and eyes and heart
A reply to the letters I had sent
Names in my phone
Are starting to pass away
My only hangout shut down
Turned into some weird place
The girl I loved so much got married
She had a child
Then became a single mom
And out of the blue, she called
Once broke
Now hes a sought-after screenwriter
But that last 5,000 yen I could spare him
From the ATM never came back
A lot goes down when youre alive
A lot goes down when youre alive
Sure does
It is what it is
Cancer was found in my buddys stomach,
Man, that hit me hard
I used to joke Id die anytime
But now Im getting checked
My best friends sassy kid
Back when he was in third grade
Now hes in high school stealing cash
From his folks to buy condoms
If time keeps slipping by like this
Odds are Ill end up dying alone
And if Im gonna die alone
I hope its not in the midsummer heat
A lot goes down when youre alive
A lot goes down when youre alive
Whats to come will go
Far beyond imagination, bring it on!
Theres no forever, no always
No lasting life, I see that now
But hey, let me stay this way
If only for a while
I know Im flawed
I only realize things after Ive lost them
Then, how many more times
Must I lose myself before I realize?
Youre not here, yet youre never gone
Why?
Most of my friends
Who got into bands back then have quit
You gotta sing, dance, and do hip-hop
To keep up with trends
Ive spent more than half my life
With no "I'm home" or "Welcome home"
But some part of me says
"Ive had so much joy in return"
"There used to be an age
When music was made by human hands"
Standing before such an age
I burn to make unseen music
Something crazy
That's what being alive is
That's what being alive is
And I guess
I'd like it to stay that way
Theres no forever, no always
No lasting life, I see that now
But hey, let me stay this way
If only for a while
If goodbye ever comes
Itll come laughing
With joy for having met
Ill hold myself together, again and again
Youre not here
Yet youre always here, why?
That hangout I used to go to
Its owner took his own life
He called me three days before
But I couldnt pick up
A lot goes down when youre alive
A lot goes down when youre alive
A lot goes down when youre alive
A lot goes down when youre alive
Hey!
It's already time for our last song.
- What?!
- No!
- I know.
- That's too soon!
Did you guys have fun?
It has been a lot of fun for me.
I don't know if "fun" is the right word,
but this does really feel like a finale.
I got to sing and perform a ton
while really savoring each moment.
Thank you.
Takeda?
It has been fun, huh?
Yes!
It's been so much fun.
I'm filled with joy.
I don't know how long
RADWIMPS will be around,
but I would like
to safeguard places like this
where everyone can just enjoy themselves.
Thanks for today!
It almost feels like a dream,
to hear you guys
cheer and yell out "RAD,"
"Yojiro," or "Takeda."
Even if I woke up one day
and this all turned out to be a lie,
I feel like
I would just accept that as obvious.
That's how dreamlike this is.
I felt that way before our major debut,
and even now, 20 years after it.
I just can't think
of what we could have possibly done
to deserve all of this.
It's a real head-scratcher.
And I think it will stay so forever.
I can never get used to the miracle
that you all happen to know
me and RADWIMPS.
If I can't get used to it after 20 years,
I think it's a done deal.
But still,
seeing you in front of me like this
really makes me feel grateful.
Thank you.
I want to say it back.
Not that I'm going to cry or anything.
I decided not to cry on this tour,
and I'm winning so far.
- Cry!
- Hey, people don't cry on command.
- I'm totally fine.
- Let's cry together!
You won't get me that easy.
I'm 40, just so you know.
I think that RADWIMPS
has been pretty spoiled by our fans.
So,
we actually talked about this just before,
about how we would butt heads
the whole time while doing tours before.
I used to barely speak a word,
and I used to get the nerves
before doing a show on a tour.
We were kind of always on the edge,
and we could've disbanded at any point.
But you know what?
It's because all of you discovered us,
and continued to listen to us.
You kept us going,
like a life-sustaining device.
You pushed us forward, little by little,
until we reached this point.
You're the reason we're here today.
Thank you for carrying RADWIMPS
all the way here.
We really don't have any plans
for our 21st year onward.
But you know,
if life goes by in a flash
just like this performance today,
then I don't want to waste
even a single second.
I think I was born
with a very limited purpose.
I think I'm here to create music,
and just squeeze it out with all my might.
I squeeze and I squeeze,
until I get something
that others can listen to.
I'll try
to squeeze even more,
so I would appreciate it
if you keep listening.
Okay, let's do the last song.
If you can sing along, please do.
Thanks again. I can see the faces
of the people on the upper floors.
Thanks for jumping and singing along.
Thanks to you guys on the main floor too,
and the people in the back.
Thanks to everyone on the sides
and the second and third floors too.
Would you mind singing along
one last time?
All the lies I told
All the truths I told
Wasnt sure which was more
So I stopped looking
What I dont like about myself
What I like about myself
I knew which was more
It made me sad
If my loved ones gonna hate me, then
Ill hate you before you hate me
But if I want someone to love me, then
I should love first before
Asking for love
I had to laugh coz you cry
Beautifully beside me
That made you laugh
And made me happy and cry, cry
A misanthrope who cursed tomorrow
Became a human believer
Who dreams of tomorrow
The me who used to look back is gone, gone
You are a machine
You clean up human beings
Each home should have one
A must-buy, thats no lie
Its super effective
Introduces you to a brand new you
But could be toxic
So follow the dosage and administration
Such will be the catchphrase
When your clone is finally made
Because youre the worlds first
Grossly visible form of love
The one-and-only earthly God
One can encounter
You made the earth round
So that no one will cry in the corners
When I dont see you
I look for the corner and cry, cry
You made humans mortal
So that no soul is wasted
When I dont see you
I hold my breath and wait
You always used to show up
But not anymore
Not anymore
A human believer who dreams of tomorrow
Is now suicidal, waiting to die tomorrow
The me who was there three minutes ago
Pops up again, again
I held my breath, there was a heart
I opened a heart, there was you
If you are in my left atrium
Theres nothing to worry about
Nothing, nothing
Thank you.
I wanted to kill myself two seconds ago
Now Im an advocate of eternal happiness
But you are not here
No, no, no
But in my heart you live
And keep my pulse beating
Telling me to live today, another day
Stay the way I am
Sending me leukocytes
Erythrocytes and all other kinds of love
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Ready? Go.
Thanks for the encore request.
Man, it's really going to end, huh?
I guess this is how it ends.
Don't end it!
Once it begins, it has to end.
Someone should fix that.
It hits pretty hard.
- It's hitting me.
- Same.
It's going to end.
Let's do more.
But really though
Life probably goes by blindingly fast too.
It's so
Oh, sorry, I guess.
I just can't help but feel that way.
It's hard to stay all bubbly and idle.
You sweated a lot today.
Yeah, we sweated today.
- True.
- Must be the air conditioning.
I mean, just look at this.
Wow, you're drenched.
Look at those pit stains.
Your pits are drenched.
- I showed it in front of 13,000 people.
- It's fine.
- Show it off.
- There's so much. On my back too.
Man, I was being all sentimental just now,
and now we're on armpit sweat.
Roger that.
But back to the point,
you have to get through it.
I just want to say,
you don't have to be kind
to people who don't even like you,
and you don't have to engage with people
who don't appreciate your presence.
Live your best life for the people
who truly appreciate you.
I'll do the same. Let's do it together.
Maybe that will bring peace.
Can you sing the next song with me?
Can you sing along? You got this?
I want you to be the loudest
out of the 17 shows of this tour.
So many secrets we have shared
Secrets we wont share
With any future friends
But simple words
Like "Im sorry"
Were the hardest words to say
All night long we stayed awake
Talking about nothing
Though we knew
We would meet again tomorrow
The next day in class
Wed sit next to each other
Sleep at our desks
Burst out laughing
As we both get caught
By pushing things
That dont make any sense
Maybe we thought
We could prove our youth
Every question wed been taught
Had an answer
Is that why?
Even in the galaxy
Theres no right answer
To what we really want to know
Like how to make up
With someone you love the most
Like how to make that someone
Look your way
Our future so unclear
There's no need for questions
That already have an answer
You were different
From any friend I had before
You came along and found me
For the first time in my life
You made me like myself
Did you know that?
You probably had no idea
In my mind, I was always chasing your back
Even when we were walking side by side
But from tomorrow
There's no one's back to follow
Every question wed been taught
Had an answer
Is that why?
No grown-ups have the right answer
To what we really want to know
Like how to sleep at night
When youre ecstatic
Like how to heal the wound
Welled up with regrets
Like how to comfort a friend
Whose heart is broken
The day we yelled at each other
For the first time
Later I found out that you were smiling
You broke open this awkward
Heart of mine
Having hard times
Not knowing how to communicate
Every question wed been taught
Had an answer
But from tomorrow on
I must find the answers
By myself
Until we meet again
Fill in the blank
To complete the sentence
This is the last question
"My life from tomorrow
Without you
Will be
The amount of time left to answer is
The rest of your life
The answer sheet is
The rest of your life
But I wont be around
To check the answer for you
The scoring criteria is
The rest of your life
Are you ready?
Start"
It's the last day. Should we do more?
Can I call a special guest just for today?
RADWIMPS drummer, Satoshi Yamaguchi.
You can do it!
Welcome back!
There might be some people who don't know,
but this is our band member,
Satoshi Yamaguchi,
who suspended his activities
ten years ago.
He'll be performing with us today.
He'll be using a device called VXD,
which is something
he has been doing research on.
Together with him and that device,
we'll be performing our debut song.
Don't get sappy now. Sing along.
You have given me many things
I'm counting them up one by one
One, two, three,
Knocking at my tear glands
The 131st got on my eyelid
Ive forgotten how to cry
But now
I feel like something might fall
Even if I close my eyes
Just one day before you die
Make me stop breathing
Thats my wish, for Gods sake
On your last day in this world, I want
To guess how the world's colors change
From the sky above
Somewhere in between here and heaven
Within reach of the moon
Ill probably see the place
With my eyes shut
What do you wanna do with our next life?
Lets not bother to meet again
Lets be born as one
Then we wont fight
Neither of us will die first
Lets share the same friends
And celebrate our same birthday
But we need two birthday cakes
Strawberry shortcake and chocolate cake
Though that really doesn't mean much
Lets laugh twice when were happy
And get twice as many wrinkles
This is my second wish
My second for Gods sake
One day when we have a kid
I hope our baby looks just like you
I know it's impossible, but I'm wishing
Only your genes will be passed on
None of mine, please
Every night I pray before I go to sleep
When I say this, you say
"No, the baby must look like you"
But I dont-- well if I must say
I'll ask that only my happy genes
And lucky genes will be
Added to the chromosomes
Can we get a few words from you?
This is unreal.
I honestly can't find
a word beyond "unreal."
Welcome back!
I know I only performed one song,
but can I still say I'm back?
I'm back!
Welcome back!
It's kind of unbelievable to think
that this day would ever come.
I didn't think it would,
but I'm standing here right now.
I think it was only possible
because RADWIMPS kept going for 20 years.
I had to drop out in the middle, and yet,
Yojiro and Takeda
and everyone who supported them
made sure to keep it going.
That's why this day could come.
I'm grateful from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you so much.
And more than anything,
it's thanks to everyone
who discovered RADWIMPS,
like you, and you,
and also you,
that RADWIMPS managed
to keep existing until today.
I genuinely think so.
I'm really grateful to you
for discovering RADWIMPS.
Man, this is great.
Should we take a photo together?
Right? It's a precious opportunity.
Let's do it.
Oh, there's a banner!
Welcome back, Satoshi!
I love you!
About that VXD that Satoshi is working on,
he has been researching it
for some time now.
It lets him play the kick drum
with his voice.
We'll share the details
of his work and research
at a later date
through RADWIMPS's accounts.
- Really?
- Of course.
I want people to know all about it.
You're practically
a researcher now, right?
- Well
- You're doing research, right?
I started another wild project.
- It did help me though. With the drums.
- With playing the drums, yeah.
Right. Please check it out later.
Okay, let's take a photo.
Wow.
Oh, Takeda, you really are drenched.
- That's a lot of sweat.
- Okay, you guys ready?
Okay. We'll all shout "twenty."
Are you ready?
Ready? Go.
- Twenty!
- Twenty!
One more. Ready? Go.
- Twenty!
- Twenty!
Perfect. Thank you.
Today was awesome.
RADWIMPS is awesome.
Anything else you want to say?
Let's see.
Well, I was watching the show
as part of the audience the whole time.
I'm even more convinced now
that RADWIMPS is the best
and most awesome rock band in my life.
You're awesome!
RADWIMPS is awesome!
Thank you!
Thank you!
Time to go home?
Let's sing!
Another song!
If I had to guess,
a lot of people probably don't know
which songs are from before Satoshi left
and which ones were made afterwards.
But in any case,
we really spent
most of our teenage years and our 20s
creating songs in the studio,
which could take up to half a year each.
I would hole up in the studio every day
and make the members put up with me.
Even to Satoshi,
I would go, "No, you can do more.
No, more. No, more."
We would repeat that over and over,
and it felt almost bizarre,
like we were making music in our own
personal Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
But I still think Satoshi's phrasing
is incredible, even listening to it now.
And that's despite Mickey and Eno here
drumming the way he does.
His drumming still has a charm to it
that hasn't faded away,
whether it's his phrasing
or something else.
And we're still performing today thinking
that Satoshi's phrasing is incredible.
It really makes me think
he's a one-of-a-kind drummer.
I'm really glad I got
to perform with him again.
Okay, it's the last day.
Let's go a little longer.
Can you guys still go?
I'm close to my limit.
You can still do it!
Can you maybe lift me up a bit?
This is the encore,
so it's not included in the ticket.
It's all up to you guys
from here onwards, okay?
Can I count on you?
Can I?
Is it alright?
Is it alright to love someone this much?
Is it alright?
Is it alright to trust someone this much?
Fried chicken is my favorite dish
The one with thick sauce
My mom makes, to be precise
But nothing can beat you
If youre a side dish, Im a bowl
I can have 50 more bowls of rice
I say this
And you say, "Then do it"
Well, its an analogy
But if you say, I might
Coz Im a man
Coz Furano is cold
Coz Im in love with you
And coz I want you to know
I mean no offense
When I say youre a side dish
Please dont hate me
Is it alright?
Is it alright to love someone this much?
Is it alright?
Is it alright to trust someone this much?
Its alright, its alright
If its who you choose
Its alright, its alright
If its the road you take
How many times did I make you cry?
How many times did I make you laugh?
Its hard to know 'cause
You have this trick called
"Crying for joy"
Endlessly repeating "sorry"
And "thank you"
The ratio is next to nothing to being even
If I have 999,999 of each
On the last day of my life
Then "thank you" will win
It will reach 1,000,000 for sure
Because, because, coz, coz, coz
My last words on this earth
Will be "thank you" to you
Is it alright?
Is it alright to love someone this much?
Is it alright?
Is it alright to lose myself this much?
Its alright, its alright
If its who you want
Its alright, its alright
If its the road you choose
I looked for the meaning to be with you
Found the reason to live another day
I looked for the meaning
To live another day
And found the reason to be with you
Sing.
Is it alright?
Is it alright to love someone this much?
Is it alright?
Is it alright to trust someone this much?
Its alright, its alright
If its who you choose
Its alright, its alright
I love you!
Is it alright?
Is it alright to love someone this much?
Is it alright?
Is it alright to trust someone this much?
Its alright, its alright
If its who you choose
Its alright, its alright
Id rather see it be that way
Is it alright?
Is it alright to love someone this much?
Its alright, its alright
If its who you choose
If its who you love
If its who you want
Want to keep going?
Man, what a day it has been.
It's been truly wonderful.
Let's do this again someday.
Thanks a lot, everyone!
Man, I really just
I'm just glad.
I love you!
There's an astounding number
of crew members involved in this tour
who all put in tons of effort
to make it work.
Some of them have been around
for 20 years, and some even longer.
And they've all tried to accommodate
our demands and grant our wishes.
They poured in a ton of energy
to make this show happen.
Let's give it up for the crew.
Man, I'm overcome with emotion.
I'm a bit
Yeah.
Let's go.
Oh, but it doesn't end today.
We still have New Year's left.
Please watch us on TV.
We're not really used to it,
so we might act a bit timid.
Can you, like,
cheer for us in your hearts?
Would you?
I think that would do a lot.
It would be super encouraging for us.
Please and thank you.
- You can do it!
- All right!
I just want to say thanks again.
Though it's our 20th anniversary,
maybe some of you only found us yesterday.
Regardless of when,
thank you for discovering us.
And thank you for coming here today.
You did great in 2025.
Clap for yourself.
You're amazing for surviving till today.
Slack off once in a while,
but work harder than anyone
when you need to.
Do your best to make 2026 an amazing year.
Can you still go wild?
No, that didn't feel very energetic.
Are you tired?
Should we just stop and go home?
Has it been too much?
No room left for more?
Are you good? You got this?
Let's just stop here
if you've had your fill.
You know how when you eat
too much of a good thing,
it actually kind of ruins the experience?
You've got this?
You sure?
You sure you got this?
Then enjoy "Kaishin no Ichigeki"
from RADWIMPS.
"Your existence doesn't change a thing"
Is what this cruel world keeps telling me
Over and over in my ears
Got something to say? Show your face
Right now
How many tens of thousands more times
Must I regret not rising
Above my own expectations?
If this heart had feet to walk
Would I have gone a different way today?
Letter of acceptance from job interview
Letter of rejection as a fun person
My mind in the distance
Running at full speed
Its gone
"Im not needed"
Overwhelming and moving
Perfect beyond ideal
Fateful and adventurous
Sometimes lyrical future versus
Average and blind, semi-permanently stable
No pain, no smell, no harm
A no-hit no-run future
Future
When did I surprise myself
Most recently?
Before it runs away
Ill make it say Ill follow you for life
I auto-correct myself
No manuals necessary
But then, on which page did it say
That "it cant be helped
'Cause it cant be helped"?
Overwhelming and moving
Perfect beyond invincible
Creative and instinctive
Unprecedented world versus
Decadent and violent, cruel beyond tragic
Discriminatory,
Thus rebellious world, world
Overwhelming and moving
Perfect beyond ideal
Creative and instinctive
Bliss beyond miracle
Decadent and violent, cruel beyond tragic
Self-righteous and hedonistic
Utterly devastating
Can you keep up, Tokyo?
World
World
World
World
World
World
Overwhelming and moving
Perfect beyond ideal
Fateful and adventurous, sometimes lyrical
Future x2 x2
Creative and instinctive
Bliss beyond artistry
Bottom of the 22nd
Two outs, bases loaded
Down by three runs, smug grin
Cleanup, blindfolded swing
First pitch, a go-ahead grand slam
Future
Future
Did you receive our gratitude?
Let's meet again.
Stay happy until we meet again!
And don't you dare die.
Let's meet again for sure.
Thank you.
I love you!
Congratulations!
Thank you!
Yojiro!
Takeda!
Takeda!
Thank you!
I love you!
Thank you!
Subtitle translation by: Saim Ul Hassan
To explain how I feel?
Its a long story but Ill try my best
Even God must be surprised coz humans
Are not supposed to be like you
Youre the most beautiful variant
Of this century
What made your mom and dad's
Hearts close enough to fuse
Two minds too close
To just blame it on time
But now they won't meet each other's eyes
No "I'm home" replies
You look at them
With teary eyes and whisper
"Here I am
Proof of your love
Please say theres not a single lie
Coz if you dont love each other anymore
My whole existence will be a lie
Dont make TIME into a liar"
You're the light that connects
The promise they made to each other
Back then to the present
"Father, mother," you say
With a trembling voice and teary eyes
Both of which you inherited half of
From each of them
You say you cant believe in the miracle
Of how you came into this world
You say you cant believe in the miracle
Of how you and I met
We pierced our ears in the same spot
But only yours shine bright
Will mine shine one day too?
Can I love the world like you do?
Even if my heart decays
And I draw my last breath rotting away
In my final moments
I want to see the world through your eyes
Thank you.
Coz I've decided that even when we're 50
we'll sleep in the same bed
If we hold hands
Till our blood becomes one
We'll never be apart
Let's keep dreaming this dream forever
We'll say we never have to wake up
If a dream is meant to be woken from
Then lets call it something else
Lets read "You" as "Love"
And "I" as "Love"
That way we'll never be apart
Ill write a song about it one day
They just want to call it a miracle
The fact that you and I met
But a miracle birthed this planet
So everything that happens on it
Has to be a miracle
Suppose the Eastern Zodiac
Says its an unlucky year
Suppose Im a Jovian, and you a Martian
Like you say
I'm an Earthling
But even if I were from Jupiter
It's just a planet away
Ill use my once-in-a-lifetime power
To warp now
I want to believe in the miracle
That you and I met
Miracle or not
I'm just grateful that we met
You say its a miracle
How beautiful, how wonderful
Riding atop the ultra-high-speed cycle
Of reincarnation
What kinda dance am I supposed to dance?
You cant be too cool or too sloppy
And its not just me
Who feels this way, I guess
Its kinda cringe, kinda nostalgic
Kinda makes me want to hear your song
Blindfolded, spirited away
Whos gonna get me all messed up?
Concerto-like virtual enemy
Natsume Soseki-style
Wasteless love of mine
Direct and inward
Like personal property no one can invade
Or can
They?
Does it turn you off?
What's up, Ariake?
Shed the world of yesterday
Its time to set out to sea
Forget the future
Drawn up in this little mind
Leave all your luggage behind
Just grab a bag and run
I was never a good dreamer
Listening to others with a cold gaze
"Is that it?
I can do much better than that!"
Always roaring in my head
Can you jump?
I missed you.
My head's full of noise
Someone preaching again
The world only listens
To the words of the winners
No mic aimed at the losers
Jump!
There's the world in that bright light
Grazing the tips
Of my outstretched fingers
If I could be with you
On a night like this
I feel like I can reach the light tonight
Let me hear you!
It's the last show. Is that all you got?
Keep singing.
I love you!
I love you!
Good evening. We are RADWIMPS.
Welcome to the finale
of our 20th anniversary tour.
Thank you for coming.
Man, it just went by in a flash.
I feel like we could have done
30 or 40 more shows.
Don't you think?
Yeah, it's weird.
It's just, how do I put it
I still have fuel left in the tank.
There's just so much energy
still coursing through me.
How about I inject
that 30 or 40 shows' worth of energy
into the rest of this one?
That sound good?
It's almost the end of the year.
Is your year over yet?
Done with school and work?
- Yes!
- You're done?
How many people are done?
That's awesome.
How many still have some work left?
- Me!
- Here!
Thank you. You guys are
what keep Japan running.
Thanks a lot.
I'm sure some of you
put in tons of effort this year,
while others couldn't really
get much done.
But there is a saying in Japan that goes,
"All's well that ends well."
Ever heard that one? Have you?
- Do you know it?
- We know!
I know!
- Yes, we know!
- Right.
How about the people on the upper floors?
Can you guys hear us?
We see you, okay?
Okay, then let's end the year
in a way that makes all 13,000 people here
think 2025 was an amazing year.
How does that sound?
Can't hear you.
Do you want to make it an amazing year?
You'd better keep up.
Stick with us till the end.
There's all kinds of things
Overflowing in the world
But whats here and whats not here
Thats all
We have
Whats the one thing we can say
For sure right now?
That we are all alive
And that we will all die
That's about it
And still, hoping to find something more
I sing
I sing
Between you
Or all of humanity
If I could save just one
Which would I choose?
No doubt, its YOU!
Monday, we cry
Tuesday, we throw up
Wednesday, we say were done, but
Saturday, Sunday, its OK to smile
We love you!
Mutual love, in a word
Is like planets aligning
Upon the sacrifice
Of a billion unrequited loves
Shining and twinkling
Don't tell me you forgot! Have you?
Make our hearts full of the miracle
Of having found each other
Love, stars, songs
All will fade someday, they say
So what?
Your lips make all those things
Feel so trivial
As time grows jealous of us
It quickens its pace
Unfazed, we grin, holding each other tight
Jun Shirakawa on the guitar.
Theres never been a decent quote
That starts with "Love is"
Forget all that, what truly matters is
How wild we can get
While still kissing
Exploring a love yet unknown to humankind
This city, people, buildings
All will crumble to dust
One day
That thought makes everything glow
On the eve of decay
Though we have no dreams
We drift like vagabonds
Like "a person beside dream"
The kanji for "ephemeral"
I declare war against my own child
I know I'll be jealous,
Yeah, I can already imagine
What a lucky little boy
To be blood-related to you
Losing all my maturity
I lose my patience and cry
I have many questions to ask you
My boy, newly born
How was your mommy's tummy?
How was the view
That I'll never get to see?
Must've been beautiful
Ten months and ten days you travelled
So happy and frustrated
'Cause you know things I don't know
He's my child, he can barely walk
But I can't lose this game
I'll play fair man-to-man
No lullaby nor bedtime story
No fairy tales to read you boy
Let me tell you your mom's story
Before you came
A story like no other in this world
It's my story
She shattered things into pieces
Stirred up troubles
Made my world twinkle
With a blinding light
My days before I met her
Were a trailer of what was to come
Your mom's game plan
Was to make everything her own
I fell right into it
One day you'll understand
It was luck
A lifetime's worth, packed to the brim
Used at the right time
And in the right way
Thank you.
We love you!
It made me shine, but made you blue
Was our dream a burden
On our loves shoulders?
I forgot
How to hate you
Cant seem to find it anywhere
That day, if you had to do it
You couldve told me
Along with saying "Goodbye"
How to break our promise
How to love someone else
But honestly, I dont want to know
Didnt we promise to be together till 100?
Didnt expect our 101st year
To come this quickly
Im so sorry for saying all these things
My head already knows but my heart says no
But, someone like me
Was made
And saved by
Not my dad, nor my mom
Nor any God, I think
Which leaves me to think that it was you
If I'm ever with someone else
And we have a baby together
Your genes will surely, secretly
Find their way into them too
But without you, it wont be fun
Ill just wait until 2085, biding my time
Thank you for everything
Im sorry for everything
Its my turn to wait
Whether youre alive or not
Because its the first time
I made a promise while smiling
- With this "Goodbye"
- The sky is beautiful
People are sad
- Let me say
- Cleanse me with an obvious truth
If theres a next time
- "Thank you"
- You are the one that I love
I am the one that loves you
- "Im sorry"
- That's how I learned to cherish myself
If I were to name this love
It would be "Thank you"
We love you!
Are you having fun? Are you?
Every song we perform, I can't help
but think about how the tour ends today.
It feels really sad.
But it's also super fun. Thank you.
Do I look okay without the hat?
You look great!
Do I look okay?
- Do I?
- You look cute!
Is my hair sticking up anywhere?
- You sure? Thank you.
- You look great!
Everything's being recorded today.
Yeah.
Maybe you'll get to watch it
somewhere eventually.
But you know,
you're in it too, just so you know.
Don't try to look good
for the camera though, okay?
Nothing would make us happier
than for you to sing with an ugly face
until your throat gets hoarse.
Man.
Got nothing more to say.
Yup.
You guys are the best. I'll sing now.
No matter how much
I tell my tears theyre useless
They refuse to leave my life
The past keeps piling up
The future has zero visibility
I stand caught in between, feeling dizzy
By our own hands, weve torn up
The letter that defines our birth
And have kicked open the door of the world
We are born travelers, born rebels
From teachings of life lessons
And stories to astrology or statistics
Along with long lists of references
Human society overflows with chaos
Days seem to have no room to prevail
Yet well live another day
In this challenging G-level life, IZA!
As tomorrow draws us closer
To the inevitable end
It even seems to glow with light
A key you hold
So magical, mysterious, and dear
Why is it in your hand?
Sometimes, it doesnt seem right
Yet kudos to the divine judgment
That entrusted you with it, BANZAI!
Where do we go, riding on this wind
A newborn today is calling out to me
Someone says
"Theres no such thing as being wrong"
"Youre right"
"Youre not"
As I go around in circles
More sorrow and regrets
Will await us ahead
I know that, but Ill choose to live
Another day with you
"Good morning" to a brand new day
In my palm, heart line, destiny line
And love line cross diagonally
Clashing, sending sparks flying
Fueled by the rising flames
It's not a matter of luck
Or whats more certain
Now's not the time
To be talking about that, IZA!
When the time comes
We must return this life
We borrowed and pretended
As if we owned it
Caressing, giving up
Recklessly stuffing memories in at random,
And escaping into them
Why not make a one-of-a-kind bundle
To return what we borrowed
Secretly hoping
I'll get laughed at, and be told
"Forget it, just keep it"
Thats the kind of life I wanna live
With you
You're awesome!
You know
Im not human, Im really sorry
I look
I think we can call that a mistake.
It was going perfectly until now.
It was going so well.
Exceedingly well.
Hiroki, don't make it brighter.
Make it darker.
I've got this. There we go.
Can we go fully dark again?
There we go.
You know
Im not human, Im really sorry
I look so much like a human
People think I am one
Im not human, then what am I?
That itself is a mystery
I havent got a clue
I know I look like a human
And people treat me like one
I do my best
To live up to their expectations
Wake up with a smile, empathy, humility
Self-sacrifice, tenderness
Live up to 100 million or more
Necessary rules of life
But my efforts end in vain
Coz Im only a copycat
One by one, people leave
As my humanity falls off
I make people I care about happy
And laugh at things that arent funny
I dont even know
Which face Im wearing now
Im not human, Im really sorry
I look so much like a human
People think I am one
Im not human, then what am I?
That itself is a mystery
I havent got a clue
One day, could I be a real human?
So I hope in my dreams
Live moderately honest
Work moderately hard
Pretending that I'm completely fine
Sometimes shedding tears
Sometimes I forget how happy I am
And blame others
Make you angry, irritated and sad
What am I?
If its going to be like this
They shouldve made
My appearance far from human
Wanna live for somebody
Wanna leave my mark
Even at this stage
Im saying things like a human
As a human I failed to clear
The very first level
Oh how dare I!
People have every right to be angry
Im not human, Im really sorry
I look so much like a human
People think I am one
Can I become human? Somebody respond?
Would you forgive me
For copying human life?
Im not human, Im really sorry
I look so much like a human
I cant quite give up
Still, I wanna be a human
Even though Im just a fake
We've managed to get to
what people call a major debut.
- We're at that stage--
- You've got this.
Thank you.
Well, I obviously didn't expect
the band to last 20 years back then,
nor did I expect that the songs
we were creating at that time
would still be known 20 years later.
We poured all our focus
and energy into creating those songs,
but we were only focused on the present.
Let's try with the mandolin.
There were many times we could have quit.
We had plenty of moments that felt
like ending points for a band,
given that we've been
at this for 20 years.
There were some even before Satoshi left.
There were moments
when we were in the studio
and just couldn't create anything.
It really felt hard
for all of us to even breathe.
I remember thinking, "Oh, this is
probably how bands meet their end."
The time Satoshi left
was one of those moments.
Of course, it was the same
when Kuwahara left.
Yeah, I think the time Satoshi left
was definitely a big turning point.
It was a pretty important time
for us when he left.
We had our tenth anniversary
soon after that.
Yeah.
We had things lined up,
and it made us feel like
we didn't want it to end there,
after doing this for ten years.
Yeah, we had our tenth anniversary tour
right after that happened,
and it allowed us
to feel glad that we continued.
It would've been tough without that.
THE 2020 JAPAN TOUR HAS BEEN CANCELLED
It's very different
from our first ten years.
We were really able to enjoy
that miraculous moment,
and we're as prepared for it as we can be.
I really wanted people
to have an experience
that they could only have
at a RADWIMPS concert.
- And I feel like we were able to do it.
- Right?
I feel like we're still chasing
after the values and ideals
from when we named ourselves RADWIMPS.
We're pursuing that name's meaning.
I'm unsure what exactly it entails,
but I'm still chasing after it.
It's gaining many different meanings
in the hearts of many different people,
but it still hasn't fully settled for me.
Anything that felt off to me,
or strange, or mysterious,
I would express it in our music.
As I kept doing that,
it happened to resonate with others,
and it made me realize
that I wasn't alone.
Thinking back, I can appreciate
how that was part of what kept me going.
They made me feel like I wasn't alone,
in a very meaningful way.
I'm really grateful for that.
THANK YOU FOR DISCOVERING RADWIMPS
Since when did I
Picture myself in your future?
Since when did I hope
My future and yours would overlap?
Since when?
I wont say, its too embarrassing
Let us be the future, starting today
I break a sweat and look around
Before I flash a smile
But then I found
A beautiful bundle of colors
Standing out from the crowd
And I knew it was you
"I found something precious"
Thought I heard a voice from inside
How can anyone monopolize me
To my very core?
The world is uncertain
But you and I can be the exception
You need to be strong to live
Fragile to cry
On this planet
Theres a little too much of both
Gods who got bored
Must have sent you to me
And if that was the case
I thank you, Ill say it again
Thank you very much
Let me say this coz its important
Ill use my unopened courage here
For the very first time
How can anyone monopolize me
To my very core?
The world is uncertain
But there is one certain thing right here
Lets catch a cold
Together
Lets sneak away from our 3:00 a.m. dream
And leave the world behind
Since when did I
Picture myself in your future?
Right here today
Let's make my future and yours
Have the same meaning
How can anyone monopolize me
To my very core?
The world is uncertain
But you and I can be the exception
How can anyone monopolize me
To my very core?
The world is uncertain
But there is one certain thing right here
Voila, there it is now
Good evening. I'm Takeda, the bassist.
How are you guys here in Tokyo doing?
Enjoying yourselves?
Sounds good.
This is what, our ninth city
and our 17th show?
The Tokyo finale.
We're home, Tokyo!
It's good to be home, really.
Thanks a lot for coming today
to our final show on the tour.
The only reason we're able
to be on stage like this
Look at how excited Yojiro is.
We only get to do these shows
because you guys turn up.
Thanks a ton.
Now, I would like to introduce the people
performing with us on this tour.
First off, behind me
is the left-side drummer, Mizuki Mori!
The right-side drummer is Masafumi Eno.
And our guitarist, Jun Shirakawa.
How did you like the tour, Jun?
It's going to end today.
- It kind of flew by.
- It flew by? Was it fun?
It was a lot of fun.
That's great.
Jun joined us
for the first time on this tour.
I'm glad you had fun.
- Thank you. Give it up for Jun.
- Thanks.
Now then,
we're actually here to pay back
the last 20 years' worth of gratitude.
We're going to move around
a bit more from now.
How does that sound?
We want to get even wilder!
How does that sound?
Was that loud enough?
Was that loud enough?
No. Maybe some people
are still in the restroom.
The restroom, huh?
Yeah, let's give them a little more time.
- Okay?
- Sure.
Maybe the people above
want to sit a bit longer.
- True.
- I can tell.
Wait, you can keep sitting.
- Sorry, you don't have to stand.
- Our bad.
No, please, keep sitting.
Let's just sit down, yeah?
So how was your year?
How many people here
thought 2025 was a good year?
- It was the best!
- Oh, wow.
That's awesome.
How many people thought it was just bad?
Yeah, some years are just not it.
I want to know what went wrong.
I'm sure there's a lot.
- I got married!
- You got married?
- Congrats.
- Wow, congrats.
I see.
You beat me to the punch, huh?
That's fine. Go on. Be happy.
Did anyone get divorced?
That many? Really?
- There's a lot over there.
- I'm sorry.
I'm just glad that you're raising
your hands so cheerfully.
Your future is bright.
Give it your best from tomorrow.
Consider it the start of a new chapter.
It's a new beginning.
Put your best foot forward.
This year marks the 20th anniversary
of our major debut.
The band itself started 25 years ago.
I've been playing in this band
since I was 15,
and I've spent all this time
just trying to convey myself,
but it has been a surprisingly
dense and eventful journey.
Right? It didn't feel
like a blur or anything.
- There was meat to it.
- It felt like a full 20 years.
Yeah.
Did you manage to receive them?
Our feelings about our 20th anniversary.
Really? You sure?
Really? I'm glad.
That's good.
We don't have any plans
for our 21st year onward.
We're just grateful to you
for being part of our journey,
for discovering us and listening to us.
We also wanted to pay back the favor
to those who've worked with us.
We came all this way
with those things as our driving force.
So from next year onwards
Well, I guess we'll just do more music.
I want us to be even more free-spirited
and make a lot of wild music,
so we'll put everything we have into it.
Are your friends back from the restroom?
Not back yet!
- Not yet, huh?
- Still not back? That's a long time.
It's all good. Take your time.
How was your Christmas?
Awesome!
Was it awesome? Oh, I see some no's.
- No's?
- Over there.
- Wow, that's a lot.
- How many had a bad Christmas?
Nice, even your voices lack enthusiasm.
Who had a great Christmas?
Japan has a bright future.
Have lots of babies.
I guess that's unrelated.
Keep loving each other.
It's close to a miracle
for two people to love each other.
It's miraculous for the person
you love to also love you back.
Don't take it for granted, okay?
Cherish what you have.
I want to show you something.
Is that okay with you?
What is it?
Does anyone recognize this?
Let me explain.
It was How many years ago now?
I think 15 or 16 years ago.
I wore this in a music video
for a song titled "Oshakasama."
I took this out of storage,
and it's still in good shape.
- How does it look?
- Cute!
- Looks great!
- You think it looks good?
Okay.
This is a significant event,
so I figured I would wear this.
Shall we do the song then?
You can do better than that.
Shall we do this song?
People on the upper floors, you can do
whatever as long as you don't fall.
And you guys on the first floor,
let's make the ground shake
like it never has in this venue.
Theres too many crows, lets kill 'em
Monkeys too, lets reduce 'em
Giant pandas are less so we increase 'em
Humans are never enough, let 'em multiply
We always pray and worship
And before we knew it
Weve become the God of our own
Who the hell do we think we are?
Never seen one myself
Saw it in the paintings here and there
Heard about it from people talking
All in the shape of a human being
Mere coincidence? A convergence of fate?
Or just sketches of the mind?
This, that, which way?
Wheres the truth? Da Vinci
Maybe there's a next life
Maybe not, so what?
Believe in it or not
What difference does it make?
Humans do whatever they please
Reigning over this food chain game
Yet they still insist
There's a higher position to reach
If I were a God making decisions
I wouldn't make the world in seven days
Id take more time, make more plans
It was made in a hurry, cut-and-pasted
Made to break
We repeat to increase and decrease
Ask questions, why, why, why?
Pretend we dont know the answer
"Tell me, tell me, why, why, why?"
Coz humans are fools
It makes perfect sense
Let 'em go down on the count of three
Coz, coz, coz
Once a fool, always a fool
So what good is it to think?
I hope I do better in my next life
But what about my life now?
Mish and mash, put 'em together
Hugger and mugger, put 'em together
Why believe in the future
When all is ruined?
Whats left for later
When all is disposed of?
But, but, but, yet, yet, yet
What, what, what?
Whatever we say, whatever we do, say no
Then what do we do?
Where do we go?
Stay or leave, either way
If we cant go, then where to?
Maybe there's a next life,
Maybe not, so what?
Believe in it or not
What difference does it make?
Make it into Heaven or Hell, whichever
Its not up or down
You can always turn sideways
So which will it be today?
An endless babbling victim
Blaming it all on the world
Or an all-out apologetic perpetrator?
Those who chose the former
You got it right
Give yourself a try
You can probably walk past
The worlds unluckiest person now
Unstoppable tears of emotions
A record-breaking blockbuster
Thats cool
But the question is
Whos making you cry?
How many more morons
Must I learn to talk to
Before I get to trust a strangers tears?
That being my only question
I'll wake up again, but
To swim in this swimming pool
Makes me sick, Im about to vomit
Ew
Will your love and my stubborn ways
Ever see beyond tomorrow?
Whoever is left in the afternoon
Of the doomsday
Is the winner
You ready?
I don't mind you hating me one bit
But somehow, it bothers me a lot
To have a dog bark at me
This world is about escaping
From sleepless nights and corpses
Busyness, poverty, boredom
And expectations
Red light, green light played in reverse
Never mind who did what
Or how it is and how it will be
And no matter how much
You pretend that you care
All the things you do
Are only done to fulfill
One of your many desires
How awesome
Will your "but" and my "yet"
Ever see beyond tomorrow?
For once, I'd like to make
A 100 percent pure sacrifice of myself
Will your love and my stubborn ways
Ever see beyond tomorrow?
Whoever is left in the afternoon
Of the doomsday
Is the winner
Victims are the invincible ones
It's time for them to rise again
Whos laughing three secs before the end?
Yeah, thats gonna be me
I love you!
Theres a 20% chance of rain today
Whether that feels high or low
Is up to you
Taking an umbrella or not
Thats a matter of resolve
If your confession only has a 20% chance
Of success, there isnt much you can do
Its probably a losing game
The rest is up to how you lose with grace
If there's no longer any meaning
To these games we play
Let me put this heart to rest
For example
In the end credits of the film you lead
I dont know where my name will appear
I may be buried among many others now
But one day
My name will appear right after yours
Im aiming for your Best Actor Award
My phone batterys at 12%
And its only past two in the afternoon
If, on a whim, you ever reached out to me
Thatd be an emergency
Id rather not know my survival
Probability 20 years from now
There are things Id rather know
There are things I tell no one
What if I traded every wish
Thats ever come true in my life
Would that still not be enough?
For example
If, by some astronomical probability
Your tongue and mine were to touch
My ancestors and descendants would all
Be on their feet, cheering with joy
If this isnt a flutter
What else can you call it?
This pale and opaque love
Where all my strength and innocence meet
Oratory in the vein of Mishima
Prose in the vein of Dazai
I want to tell you this
In 0.2 sec, we fall in love,
Then we dive in with our entire being
And bear a deep, heavy wound that
Wont heal, even after a thousand years
Thank you.
This world still wants
To tame me it seems
If thats how it is
I will strive with grace
Let us kiss
While we watch each others hourglasses
And meet at the farthest place
From goodbye
Time has come
The past is just the pre-preface
You can just skim through it
'Cause "I" start here
Experience, knowledge
And mold growing bravery
Let me dive into you at unparalleled speed
In a daze, staring into lukewarm cola
I dreamt of somewhere not here
Outside the classroom window
In the morning carried by the train
Let us fall in love
At the place where words
Like fate or future
Are far beyond reach
Clock hands move
As they cast a glance at us
Such is the world
But with you I can live all my life
No matter how many chapters there may be
We gave up our wings to fly
And chose to hold each others hands
But the sky above kept us transfixed
Is it a crime to dream another dream?
Summer sees the back of autumn
Guessing what it looks like from behind
Is this yearning, is this love?
Its unrequited, we know
Long before the passing rain
Ever had a name
Long before sunlight
Filtering through the trees had a name
You were you, werent you?
Today, for once in a thousand years
Gravity falls asleep
Lets stand on the blind side of the sun
To leave this planet now
When hes awake
Well be where they cant bring us back
On the count of three, kick off the earth
To another planet
We go
An inch away
From the other side of our fate
An inch away
From the other side of our civilization
We go
An inch away
From the other side of our fate
Its just an inch away
We go
An inch away
From the other side of our fate
An inch away
From the other side of our civilization
We go
An inch away
From the other side of our fate
Its just an inch away
Lets raise the sail of our dream
For the day to come
When the night is through
Here we are with hearts full of hope
That the rest would take care of itself
Put my arm around you
Its not that were not scared
But we wont stop
We may get ahead of hard times
But what good does it do?
Our love tells us
A voice tells us
To go
Im glad I kept doing
This thing called a rock band
'Cause now I know
I wasn't wrong
"Nice to meet you," she said
Her exceptionally big eyes
Wavered as she looked me in the eyes
That was the spring of fourteen
Ever since then
"Ive always heard your voice"
What can I say?
Her face crumpled like a lost child's
No need to say it
I know how you feel, thank you
It's a feel-good day today
We knew each others "voice"
From years ago
A lot of catching-up to do
For childhood friends
Somehow I've always felt
That Im living in a time
Just hovering at one place
Today, in the spring of twenty-one
You came to me
With a reply to my letter from the past
Im glad I kept doing
This thing called a rock band
'Cause now I know I wasn't wrong
Those dreams dashed off
Sent in a blank envelope
Those feelings exposed unashamedly
You found them, kept them, and we met
Got closer than any next friend
Without knowing each others name
You say we talked
Day in, day out
Rain or shine, in storm or snow
At times we hated, went different ways
Got out of touch
But in the end, came back
When nobody is listening
When popular songs are all we hear
I had this song with me
Im glad I kept doing
This thing called a rock band
Though I was the least sociable
Uncommunicative type
I see now how we exchanged our thoughts
Im glad I kept doing
This thing called a rock band
The state of my self-defending mind
Tedious awkward confessions
I dashed them off
Threw them up in the air
They got blown away
In the wind and disappeared
But you found them, kept them
Picked my voice up
Tinier than the wind
Into the distance
Let the songs fly
Those dreams dashed off
Sent in a blank envelope
Those feelings exposed unashamedly
That disgraceful behavior
Lashing out at everyone
Those hopes I let run wild, spilling over
Dashed them off for twenty years
Then she appeared before my eyes
Holding in her hands and eyes and heart
A reply to the letters I had sent
Names in my phone
Are starting to pass away
My only hangout shut down
Turned into some weird place
The girl I loved so much got married
She had a child
Then became a single mom
And out of the blue, she called
Once broke
Now hes a sought-after screenwriter
But that last 5,000 yen I could spare him
From the ATM never came back
A lot goes down when youre alive
A lot goes down when youre alive
Sure does
It is what it is
Cancer was found in my buddys stomach,
Man, that hit me hard
I used to joke Id die anytime
But now Im getting checked
My best friends sassy kid
Back when he was in third grade
Now hes in high school stealing cash
From his folks to buy condoms
If time keeps slipping by like this
Odds are Ill end up dying alone
And if Im gonna die alone
I hope its not in the midsummer heat
A lot goes down when youre alive
A lot goes down when youre alive
Whats to come will go
Far beyond imagination, bring it on!
Theres no forever, no always
No lasting life, I see that now
But hey, let me stay this way
If only for a while
I know Im flawed
I only realize things after Ive lost them
Then, how many more times
Must I lose myself before I realize?
Youre not here, yet youre never gone
Why?
Most of my friends
Who got into bands back then have quit
You gotta sing, dance, and do hip-hop
To keep up with trends
Ive spent more than half my life
With no "I'm home" or "Welcome home"
But some part of me says
"Ive had so much joy in return"
"There used to be an age
When music was made by human hands"
Standing before such an age
I burn to make unseen music
Something crazy
That's what being alive is
That's what being alive is
And I guess
I'd like it to stay that way
Theres no forever, no always
No lasting life, I see that now
But hey, let me stay this way
If only for a while
If goodbye ever comes
Itll come laughing
With joy for having met
Ill hold myself together, again and again
Youre not here
Yet youre always here, why?
That hangout I used to go to
Its owner took his own life
He called me three days before
But I couldnt pick up
A lot goes down when youre alive
A lot goes down when youre alive
A lot goes down when youre alive
A lot goes down when youre alive
Hey!
It's already time for our last song.
- What?!
- No!
- I know.
- That's too soon!
Did you guys have fun?
It has been a lot of fun for me.
I don't know if "fun" is the right word,
but this does really feel like a finale.
I got to sing and perform a ton
while really savoring each moment.
Thank you.
Takeda?
It has been fun, huh?
Yes!
It's been so much fun.
I'm filled with joy.
I don't know how long
RADWIMPS will be around,
but I would like
to safeguard places like this
where everyone can just enjoy themselves.
Thanks for today!
It almost feels like a dream,
to hear you guys
cheer and yell out "RAD,"
"Yojiro," or "Takeda."
Even if I woke up one day
and this all turned out to be a lie,
I feel like
I would just accept that as obvious.
That's how dreamlike this is.
I felt that way before our major debut,
and even now, 20 years after it.
I just can't think
of what we could have possibly done
to deserve all of this.
It's a real head-scratcher.
And I think it will stay so forever.
I can never get used to the miracle
that you all happen to know
me and RADWIMPS.
If I can't get used to it after 20 years,
I think it's a done deal.
But still,
seeing you in front of me like this
really makes me feel grateful.
Thank you.
I want to say it back.
Not that I'm going to cry or anything.
I decided not to cry on this tour,
and I'm winning so far.
- Cry!
- Hey, people don't cry on command.
- I'm totally fine.
- Let's cry together!
You won't get me that easy.
I'm 40, just so you know.
I think that RADWIMPS
has been pretty spoiled by our fans.
So,
we actually talked about this just before,
about how we would butt heads
the whole time while doing tours before.
I used to barely speak a word,
and I used to get the nerves
before doing a show on a tour.
We were kind of always on the edge,
and we could've disbanded at any point.
But you know what?
It's because all of you discovered us,
and continued to listen to us.
You kept us going,
like a life-sustaining device.
You pushed us forward, little by little,
until we reached this point.
You're the reason we're here today.
Thank you for carrying RADWIMPS
all the way here.
We really don't have any plans
for our 21st year onward.
But you know,
if life goes by in a flash
just like this performance today,
then I don't want to waste
even a single second.
I think I was born
with a very limited purpose.
I think I'm here to create music,
and just squeeze it out with all my might.
I squeeze and I squeeze,
until I get something
that others can listen to.
I'll try
to squeeze even more,
so I would appreciate it
if you keep listening.
Okay, let's do the last song.
If you can sing along, please do.
Thanks again. I can see the faces
of the people on the upper floors.
Thanks for jumping and singing along.
Thanks to you guys on the main floor too,
and the people in the back.
Thanks to everyone on the sides
and the second and third floors too.
Would you mind singing along
one last time?
All the lies I told
All the truths I told
Wasnt sure which was more
So I stopped looking
What I dont like about myself
What I like about myself
I knew which was more
It made me sad
If my loved ones gonna hate me, then
Ill hate you before you hate me
But if I want someone to love me, then
I should love first before
Asking for love
I had to laugh coz you cry
Beautifully beside me
That made you laugh
And made me happy and cry, cry
A misanthrope who cursed tomorrow
Became a human believer
Who dreams of tomorrow
The me who used to look back is gone, gone
You are a machine
You clean up human beings
Each home should have one
A must-buy, thats no lie
Its super effective
Introduces you to a brand new you
But could be toxic
So follow the dosage and administration
Such will be the catchphrase
When your clone is finally made
Because youre the worlds first
Grossly visible form of love
The one-and-only earthly God
One can encounter
You made the earth round
So that no one will cry in the corners
When I dont see you
I look for the corner and cry, cry
You made humans mortal
So that no soul is wasted
When I dont see you
I hold my breath and wait
You always used to show up
But not anymore
Not anymore
A human believer who dreams of tomorrow
Is now suicidal, waiting to die tomorrow
The me who was there three minutes ago
Pops up again, again
I held my breath, there was a heart
I opened a heart, there was you
If you are in my left atrium
Theres nothing to worry about
Nothing, nothing
Thank you.
I wanted to kill myself two seconds ago
Now Im an advocate of eternal happiness
But you are not here
No, no, no
But in my heart you live
And keep my pulse beating
Telling me to live today, another day
Stay the way I am
Sending me leukocytes
Erythrocytes and all other kinds of love
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Ready? Go.
Thanks for the encore request.
Man, it's really going to end, huh?
I guess this is how it ends.
Don't end it!
Once it begins, it has to end.
Someone should fix that.
It hits pretty hard.
- It's hitting me.
- Same.
It's going to end.
Let's do more.
But really though
Life probably goes by blindingly fast too.
It's so
Oh, sorry, I guess.
I just can't help but feel that way.
It's hard to stay all bubbly and idle.
You sweated a lot today.
Yeah, we sweated today.
- True.
- Must be the air conditioning.
I mean, just look at this.
Wow, you're drenched.
Look at those pit stains.
Your pits are drenched.
- I showed it in front of 13,000 people.
- It's fine.
- Show it off.
- There's so much. On my back too.
Man, I was being all sentimental just now,
and now we're on armpit sweat.
Roger that.
But back to the point,
you have to get through it.
I just want to say,
you don't have to be kind
to people who don't even like you,
and you don't have to engage with people
who don't appreciate your presence.
Live your best life for the people
who truly appreciate you.
I'll do the same. Let's do it together.
Maybe that will bring peace.
Can you sing the next song with me?
Can you sing along? You got this?
I want you to be the loudest
out of the 17 shows of this tour.
So many secrets we have shared
Secrets we wont share
With any future friends
But simple words
Like "Im sorry"
Were the hardest words to say
All night long we stayed awake
Talking about nothing
Though we knew
We would meet again tomorrow
The next day in class
Wed sit next to each other
Sleep at our desks
Burst out laughing
As we both get caught
By pushing things
That dont make any sense
Maybe we thought
We could prove our youth
Every question wed been taught
Had an answer
Is that why?
Even in the galaxy
Theres no right answer
To what we really want to know
Like how to make up
With someone you love the most
Like how to make that someone
Look your way
Our future so unclear
There's no need for questions
That already have an answer
You were different
From any friend I had before
You came along and found me
For the first time in my life
You made me like myself
Did you know that?
You probably had no idea
In my mind, I was always chasing your back
Even when we were walking side by side
But from tomorrow
There's no one's back to follow
Every question wed been taught
Had an answer
Is that why?
No grown-ups have the right answer
To what we really want to know
Like how to sleep at night
When youre ecstatic
Like how to heal the wound
Welled up with regrets
Like how to comfort a friend
Whose heart is broken
The day we yelled at each other
For the first time
Later I found out that you were smiling
You broke open this awkward
Heart of mine
Having hard times
Not knowing how to communicate
Every question wed been taught
Had an answer
But from tomorrow on
I must find the answers
By myself
Until we meet again
Fill in the blank
To complete the sentence
This is the last question
"My life from tomorrow
Without you
Will be
The amount of time left to answer is
The rest of your life
The answer sheet is
The rest of your life
But I wont be around
To check the answer for you
The scoring criteria is
The rest of your life
Are you ready?
Start"
It's the last day. Should we do more?
Can I call a special guest just for today?
RADWIMPS drummer, Satoshi Yamaguchi.
You can do it!
Welcome back!
There might be some people who don't know,
but this is our band member,
Satoshi Yamaguchi,
who suspended his activities
ten years ago.
He'll be performing with us today.
He'll be using a device called VXD,
which is something
he has been doing research on.
Together with him and that device,
we'll be performing our debut song.
Don't get sappy now. Sing along.
You have given me many things
I'm counting them up one by one
One, two, three,
Knocking at my tear glands
The 131st got on my eyelid
Ive forgotten how to cry
But now
I feel like something might fall
Even if I close my eyes
Just one day before you die
Make me stop breathing
Thats my wish, for Gods sake
On your last day in this world, I want
To guess how the world's colors change
From the sky above
Somewhere in between here and heaven
Within reach of the moon
Ill probably see the place
With my eyes shut
What do you wanna do with our next life?
Lets not bother to meet again
Lets be born as one
Then we wont fight
Neither of us will die first
Lets share the same friends
And celebrate our same birthday
But we need two birthday cakes
Strawberry shortcake and chocolate cake
Though that really doesn't mean much
Lets laugh twice when were happy
And get twice as many wrinkles
This is my second wish
My second for Gods sake
One day when we have a kid
I hope our baby looks just like you
I know it's impossible, but I'm wishing
Only your genes will be passed on
None of mine, please
Every night I pray before I go to sleep
When I say this, you say
"No, the baby must look like you"
But I dont-- well if I must say
I'll ask that only my happy genes
And lucky genes will be
Added to the chromosomes
Can we get a few words from you?
This is unreal.
I honestly can't find
a word beyond "unreal."
Welcome back!
I know I only performed one song,
but can I still say I'm back?
I'm back!
Welcome back!
It's kind of unbelievable to think
that this day would ever come.
I didn't think it would,
but I'm standing here right now.
I think it was only possible
because RADWIMPS kept going for 20 years.
I had to drop out in the middle, and yet,
Yojiro and Takeda
and everyone who supported them
made sure to keep it going.
That's why this day could come.
I'm grateful from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you so much.
And more than anything,
it's thanks to everyone
who discovered RADWIMPS,
like you, and you,
and also you,
that RADWIMPS managed
to keep existing until today.
I genuinely think so.
I'm really grateful to you
for discovering RADWIMPS.
Man, this is great.
Should we take a photo together?
Right? It's a precious opportunity.
Let's do it.
Oh, there's a banner!
Welcome back, Satoshi!
I love you!
About that VXD that Satoshi is working on,
he has been researching it
for some time now.
It lets him play the kick drum
with his voice.
We'll share the details
of his work and research
at a later date
through RADWIMPS's accounts.
- Really?
- Of course.
I want people to know all about it.
You're practically
a researcher now, right?
- Well
- You're doing research, right?
I started another wild project.
- It did help me though. With the drums.
- With playing the drums, yeah.
Right. Please check it out later.
Okay, let's take a photo.
Wow.
Oh, Takeda, you really are drenched.
- That's a lot of sweat.
- Okay, you guys ready?
Okay. We'll all shout "twenty."
Are you ready?
Ready? Go.
- Twenty!
- Twenty!
One more. Ready? Go.
- Twenty!
- Twenty!
Perfect. Thank you.
Today was awesome.
RADWIMPS is awesome.
Anything else you want to say?
Let's see.
Well, I was watching the show
as part of the audience the whole time.
I'm even more convinced now
that RADWIMPS is the best
and most awesome rock band in my life.
You're awesome!
RADWIMPS is awesome!
Thank you!
Thank you!
Time to go home?
Let's sing!
Another song!
If I had to guess,
a lot of people probably don't know
which songs are from before Satoshi left
and which ones were made afterwards.
But in any case,
we really spent
most of our teenage years and our 20s
creating songs in the studio,
which could take up to half a year each.
I would hole up in the studio every day
and make the members put up with me.
Even to Satoshi,
I would go, "No, you can do more.
No, more. No, more."
We would repeat that over and over,
and it felt almost bizarre,
like we were making music in our own
personal Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
But I still think Satoshi's phrasing
is incredible, even listening to it now.
And that's despite Mickey and Eno here
drumming the way he does.
His drumming still has a charm to it
that hasn't faded away,
whether it's his phrasing
or something else.
And we're still performing today thinking
that Satoshi's phrasing is incredible.
It really makes me think
he's a one-of-a-kind drummer.
I'm really glad I got
to perform with him again.
Okay, it's the last day.
Let's go a little longer.
Can you guys still go?
I'm close to my limit.
You can still do it!
Can you maybe lift me up a bit?
This is the encore,
so it's not included in the ticket.
It's all up to you guys
from here onwards, okay?
Can I count on you?
Can I?
Is it alright?
Is it alright to love someone this much?
Is it alright?
Is it alright to trust someone this much?
Fried chicken is my favorite dish
The one with thick sauce
My mom makes, to be precise
But nothing can beat you
If youre a side dish, Im a bowl
I can have 50 more bowls of rice
I say this
And you say, "Then do it"
Well, its an analogy
But if you say, I might
Coz Im a man
Coz Furano is cold
Coz Im in love with you
And coz I want you to know
I mean no offense
When I say youre a side dish
Please dont hate me
Is it alright?
Is it alright to love someone this much?
Is it alright?
Is it alright to trust someone this much?
Its alright, its alright
If its who you choose
Its alright, its alright
If its the road you take
How many times did I make you cry?
How many times did I make you laugh?
Its hard to know 'cause
You have this trick called
"Crying for joy"
Endlessly repeating "sorry"
And "thank you"
The ratio is next to nothing to being even
If I have 999,999 of each
On the last day of my life
Then "thank you" will win
It will reach 1,000,000 for sure
Because, because, coz, coz, coz
My last words on this earth
Will be "thank you" to you
Is it alright?
Is it alright to love someone this much?
Is it alright?
Is it alright to lose myself this much?
Its alright, its alright
If its who you want
Its alright, its alright
If its the road you choose
I looked for the meaning to be with you
Found the reason to live another day
I looked for the meaning
To live another day
And found the reason to be with you
Sing.
Is it alright?
Is it alright to love someone this much?
Is it alright?
Is it alright to trust someone this much?
Its alright, its alright
If its who you choose
Its alright, its alright
I love you!
Is it alright?
Is it alright to love someone this much?
Is it alright?
Is it alright to trust someone this much?
Its alright, its alright
If its who you choose
Its alright, its alright
Id rather see it be that way
Is it alright?
Is it alright to love someone this much?
Its alright, its alright
If its who you choose
If its who you love
If its who you want
Want to keep going?
Man, what a day it has been.
It's been truly wonderful.
Let's do this again someday.
Thanks a lot, everyone!
Man, I really just
I'm just glad.
I love you!
There's an astounding number
of crew members involved in this tour
who all put in tons of effort
to make it work.
Some of them have been around
for 20 years, and some even longer.
And they've all tried to accommodate
our demands and grant our wishes.
They poured in a ton of energy
to make this show happen.
Let's give it up for the crew.
Man, I'm overcome with emotion.
I'm a bit
Yeah.
Let's go.
Oh, but it doesn't end today.
We still have New Year's left.
Please watch us on TV.
We're not really used to it,
so we might act a bit timid.
Can you, like,
cheer for us in your hearts?
Would you?
I think that would do a lot.
It would be super encouraging for us.
Please and thank you.
- You can do it!
- All right!
I just want to say thanks again.
Though it's our 20th anniversary,
maybe some of you only found us yesterday.
Regardless of when,
thank you for discovering us.
And thank you for coming here today.
You did great in 2025.
Clap for yourself.
You're amazing for surviving till today.
Slack off once in a while,
but work harder than anyone
when you need to.
Do your best to make 2026 an amazing year.
Can you still go wild?
No, that didn't feel very energetic.
Are you tired?
Should we just stop and go home?
Has it been too much?
No room left for more?
Are you good? You got this?
Let's just stop here
if you've had your fill.
You know how when you eat
too much of a good thing,
it actually kind of ruins the experience?
You've got this?
You sure?
You sure you got this?
Then enjoy "Kaishin no Ichigeki"
from RADWIMPS.
"Your existence doesn't change a thing"
Is what this cruel world keeps telling me
Over and over in my ears
Got something to say? Show your face
Right now
How many tens of thousands more times
Must I regret not rising
Above my own expectations?
If this heart had feet to walk
Would I have gone a different way today?
Letter of acceptance from job interview
Letter of rejection as a fun person
My mind in the distance
Running at full speed
Its gone
"Im not needed"
Overwhelming and moving
Perfect beyond ideal
Fateful and adventurous
Sometimes lyrical future versus
Average and blind, semi-permanently stable
No pain, no smell, no harm
A no-hit no-run future
Future
When did I surprise myself
Most recently?
Before it runs away
Ill make it say Ill follow you for life
I auto-correct myself
No manuals necessary
But then, on which page did it say
That "it cant be helped
'Cause it cant be helped"?
Overwhelming and moving
Perfect beyond invincible
Creative and instinctive
Unprecedented world versus
Decadent and violent, cruel beyond tragic
Discriminatory,
Thus rebellious world, world
Overwhelming and moving
Perfect beyond ideal
Creative and instinctive
Bliss beyond miracle
Decadent and violent, cruel beyond tragic
Self-righteous and hedonistic
Utterly devastating
Can you keep up, Tokyo?
World
World
World
World
World
World
Overwhelming and moving
Perfect beyond ideal
Fateful and adventurous, sometimes lyrical
Future x2 x2
Creative and instinctive
Bliss beyond artistry
Bottom of the 22nd
Two outs, bases loaded
Down by three runs, smug grin
Cleanup, blindfolded swing
First pitch, a go-ahead grand slam
Future
Future
Did you receive our gratitude?
Let's meet again.
Stay happy until we meet again!
And don't you dare die.
Let's meet again for sure.
Thank you.
I love you!
Congratulations!
Thank you!
Yojiro!
Takeda!
Takeda!
Thank you!
I love you!
Thank you!
