Shadows of Bigfoot (2024) Movie Script
(film shuffling)
(tape whirring)
(insects chirping)
All right, let's ready up.
Inventory accounted for, Sarge.
[Hudson] Roger that, Sergeant.
You boys understand
what we're doing tonight.
[Hudson] Mm-hm.
All right, because this is
your last chance to bow out,
and I will not think less of you.
I have to think gonna be no turkey shoot.
I know the risks.
[Hudson] I ain't no bitch.
I'm seeing it through to the end.
All right, Hudson,
you keep that camera
rolling no matter what.
Both of you, keep your eyes
peeled for rangers, all right?
What we're doing ain't exactly legal.
Eyes open, head on a swivel.
Copy that.
All right, good men.
Let's roll out.
[Hudson] Do you think we'll find it?
Pete will find it,
just don't think it's a bear we're after.
[Hudson] Well, then what the fuck is it?
Hey, keep the chatter to a
minimum you two, all right?
We can't afford any mistakes out here.
All right, according to my map,
we are well within its territory now,
so everybody stay on high alert.
You sure it's out there?
Yeah, I'm sure it's outta here, Hicks.
Can't hide behind these
trees forever, though.
We're gonna find it.
(plant shuffling)
[Hicks] The fuck is that man?
[Hudson] Had to be a bear.
[Sergeant] No, no, it's moving
way too fast to be a bear.
[Hicks] Then what the fuck is it?
That's destiny, son.
It's stalking us now.
(dramatic music)
Come on out.
Can't hide forever.
[Hudson] Find it, Sarge, where's it at?
Smell that?
It's close now.
Hold up, hold up, hold up.
I think there's something down there.
Come on out.
Come on.
(creature roaring)
(gun firing)
God damn it.
Shit, we gotta go after him.
The fuck did he go?
Pete.
Where are you, Pete?
Ah, Sarge, come on.
Where are you at, Sarge?
[Hudson] Is that?
[Hicks] Oh God.
Oh God.
[Hudson] No!
Sarge, Sarge, Pete, come on.
We need you to get us
outta here. Come on, Sarge.
(creature roaring)
(Hicks screaming)
Oh fuck.
(hunter panting)
(hunter hyperventilating)
Please God, please don't.
It's not, it's not, it's not happening.
It's not real, it's not
happening, it's not real.
Oh fuck.
Oh fuck.
Oh fuck, fuck, fuck.
(creature roaring)
Fuck.
Oh fuck, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
(man screaming)
(creature roaring)
Fuck.
(creature roaring)
(hunter panting)
(creature roaring)
Hey, hey, help!
(Hicks screaming)
(creature roaring)
Oh fuck, oh fuck.
No!
(suspenseful music)
Oh God.
(creature roaring)
Please God, please.
(creature roaring)
(hunter panting)
(creature roaring) I gotta
get the fuck outta here,
I swear to God.
(creature roaring)
(hunter screaming)
(door slamming)
Okay, do we got the
cameras and everything?
Yep, got the hand held, time lapse,
and all the back-up hard drives.
I think we got everything.
Ready for your first gig?
[Jake] Ready as I'll ever be.
Yeah, don't worry.
Everyone's nervous their first time.
Oh, Drew, did you grab the?
Yes, thank you.
Awesome.
All right.
That's it.
Oh my God.
I almost forgot the most important thing.
You are such a bad influence, my God.
Yeah, Jake, have a
responsible here, man.
- Okay, we good?
- Okay.
Jake, we good?
[Jake] Yep, just let
double check the audio.
You gotta little something.
Okay, all right.
Ready? And...
So we've come to share a story
from the shadows of the Blackwood Forest,
a place soaked in secrets as
dark as the wilderness itself.
We've ventured here to
seek out clues to a mystery
that still haunt this very region.
Hikers have long gone missing
on the trails winding through these woods.
Some even claim to have
seen a beast in the shadows
just beyond the tree line.
But we've come to pursue a mystery
that's far more chilling, an unsolved case
that seems to have caught
national attention.
An unsettling tale about
a local man, Jeb McCoy,
accused of killing his own wife.
The case against him
collapsed and he was acquitted
only to vanish into the
solitude of the forest.
So our plan is to track
him down, document him,
and get his side of the story,
because Jeb insists that he
did not cause his wife's death.
Instead, he claims that a creature came
in the middle of the
night and took his wife,
the creature known as Bigfoot.
So did Jeb really kill his wife,
or was it this mythical creature?
We're gonna spend this
weekend investigating,
and we're gonna find out
what exactly is going on
in this forest.
(insect chirping)
Look.
(suspenseful music)
(suspenseful music fading out)
(Drew knocking)
Drew, look at all these missing hikers.
Yeah, let's try to stay
off this wall, right guys?
Oh, she went missing
just a few weeks ago.
[Park Ranger] Can I help
you guys with something?
[Grace] Yeah, we should have
a reservation for a campsite.
It will be under Grace Parker.
- Parker?
- Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah, Campsite B-33.
[Grace] Yeah.
This one's kind of out there,
you have experience hiking and camping?
Oh yeah, man, we have
hiked our fair share.
Okay, what's with the cameras?
Oh, we run a documentary channel.
We just kind of go around exploring
urban legends and unsolved mysteries,
you know, that kind of thing.
Okay, well you've
come to the right place.
Yeah, man, we're excited to be here,
especially after all
the press at this place.
Yeah.
It's terrible.
The forest is unpredictable, you know?
Not everybody who goes in comes back out.
The place is massive, one of
the largest in the country.
You might think you're going one way,
get turned around, never come out.
We've set up camp and
hike, tougher terrain.
- Yeah.
- So, we'll be okay.
I'm sure you have,
but don't make my job
harder than it is, okay?
Stick to the trail.
Don't disturb the locals.
There's already enough going
on with Jeb in the press.
We won't be a problem, I promise.
We're just gonna camp here for the night,
and then we're gonna head to
the Whitlow Trail tomorrow.
Well, I hate to be
the bearer of bad news,
but Whitlow trail's closed
'til further notice.
There was a bear attack couple weeks ago,
killed three hunters.
I mean, we understand the risks, man.
And then we're not rookies.
We've even counted more
bears than we can count.
There's not some sort of
arrangement we can make,
or?
- No.
I mean, you could come with us.
You can make sure we stay
safe and stay on the trail.
We could even pay you for
your time if you wanted.
I get it, I get it. You're frustrated,
you're not going where you want
to go, but rules are rules.
We have to prioritize safety now.
If anybody is caught sneaking onto a trail
they're not supposed to be on,
you're gonna get hit
with a trespassing charge
and a fine of a thousand dollars each.
(Drew sighing)
Here.
That's a more tourist friendly trail.
I think you'll enjoy it, real easy hike,
no danger, nice and safe, okay?
Enjoy your trip.
Lemme know if you need anything else.
So, how you doing?
Oh, you know, just spent
all this money on the gear,
and Smokey the Bear won't
let us go down that trail.
I mean, it sucks,
but we can still interview
some people, right?
We can get some pretty good B roll.
That should be enough for a video, right?
B roll? Grace, come on,
that's not gonna cut it.
Fuck, I can't believe it's closed.
I mean, it would be really
nice to get Jeb's interview.
Yeah.
Why don't we just head
back to camp for the night?
If we can get some sleep,
and then maybe in the morning
we can kind of see what our options are?
I feel like that's kind of
all we can do at this point.
Or.
Or?
We risk the fine go on the trail anyway.
Come on, Grace. That's
why we came here, right?
We should at least check it out.
Drew.
(Grace groaning)
Okay, if we do this, I
wanna do it legally, okay?
I don't wanna get hit
with a trespassing charge
and then a fine of a
thousand dollars each.
Also, this forest is freaking huge.
How are we even gonna find this guy?
Oh, okay.
You're gonna track him down?
Grace, you put me out
there, I can find him.
Drew, I love you so much
and I appreciate your confidence so much.
Okay.
But I really don't think
that we're gonna be able to do that.
So, a bit of a hiccup.
Due to the recent event
involving the death of three hunters,
the trail that we intended to go down
to find our hermit is closed.
As you know, we are
trying to find Jeb McCoy,
the man who has recently been
accused of murdering his wife.
However, we are still
hopeful that we'll be able
to find a way around this
and get our interview.
[Drew] All right,
Grace, question for you.
You get your interview with the hermit?
[Grace] Yeah.
[Drew] First question
that comes to your mind,
what are you asking him? Go.
I don't really know.
Come on.
I just wanna hear his
side of the story, you know?
- All right.
- What about you?
[Drew] Location of
his wife's grave maybe?
Or, why the name Jeb?
[Grace] Okay, so you're
not buying the whole
"Bigfoot murdered my wife" story?
No, are you?
I don't know.
Maybe.
I don't really know
what to believe anymore.
I mean, he was acquitted.
No motive, no weapon, no body, no nothing.
Well, maybe he got creative, Grace.
[Grace] Well, that's true.
I mean, pigs can eat up a whole body.
Or just, I mean, leaving a barrel of acid
for a few days and that
shit's just like, gone.
What?
I listen to a lot of true crime.
I didn't say anything.
Rethinking our engagement?
No, no, just,
I just gotta ask, you know,
did you kill Jeb's wife?
- Oh my God,
I can't fucking stand you.
(Grace chuckling)
[Drew] All right, what the fuck?
[Grace] Okay, that's kind of creepy.
[Drew] Why is he just
standing there like a weirdo?
[Grace] I don't know.
Sir, can we help you?
[Drew] I'm gonna get the knife.
[Grace] Don't get your knife.
Hey, are you lost?
(Drew clearing throat)
[Drew] Excuse me.
We're just passing through.
We don't wanna startle you.
Just wanna make sure you're all right.
Hello?
Grace, I don't...
- I don't know.
You could just,
just go up to him.
- Okay.
Hey, man.
Everything okay?
(stranger shushing)
Listen.
The forest comes alive at night.
There are creatures out here
that are nocturnal.
If you listen closely,
you can hear 'em.
[Grace] Can we ask what
you're doing out here?
It's peaceful out here.
I try to lend a hand
to those lost
wandering in the woods.
[Grace] What do you mean?
The missing ones.
I try to find them, shepherd
them back to safety.
I've been searching for a camper
gone missing recently.
[Grace] Are you talking
about Harper Murphy?
That's her.
Just a kid, really.
Been out there about a
week now, poor thing.
[Drew] Have you seen any other campers?
Every now and then, yes.
But this time,
I'm not so sure.
I've got a bad feeling
that something
awful may have happened to her.
You two had better be careful.
I'd hate to be the one searching for you.
It's not safe to be this
far out off the trail.
I'd advise going back to your campground.
[Grace] What do you mean not safe?
Sometimes...
It's not the creatures of
the woods you gotta fear,
it's the people
living out here.
They
are the real monsters.
[Drew] Okay.
Come on, come on, come on.
Drew, what the fuck was that?
I mean, I should have asked
what fuckin' drugs he had.
[Grace] Oh my, let's
just get back to camp.
How's the map looking, Parker?
The problem is, is that this
area right here is flooded.
Oh.
Is there no other way around?
I mean, it's kind of hard to tell,
'cause the rainy season's
been really bad this year.
Because there's a bridge we'd
have to cross to get there,
and it's probably blocked
if the trail is closed off.
[Drew] Hmm.
What if...
What if we circled around like,
like...
Stupid, I don't even know.
It's all you, Grace.
- Okay, well like,
I mean, we could circle
around probably this way, but,
God, you're looking at like
probably a 12-mile hike
with all of our gear,
if you'd wanna do that.
Do you?
[Jake] Please for the love
of God, don't make me do that.
Yeah, no.
Okay, how about this?
How about we just, we scout it out,
see if the trail's flooded.
If it is, we can at least get some
footage of the forest at night.
- Okay.
- Yeah?
I'm down.
How have you never had
a pickle back, Grace?
[Grace] Okay, I've just
never gotten around to it.
Man, you take some Irish whiskey,
chase it with some pickled juice.
- Oh my God.
- It is going
to change your life, Grace.
- Fine,
I'll try 'em when I get home.
(leaves rustling)
You hear that?
[Grace] Yeah.
[Drew] Hello?
(leaves rustling)
It sounds like someone's
walking around, right?
[Grace] Where the fuck
is that even coming from?
[Drew] We don't want
to freak anyone out.
We're just passing through,
just a few campers.
(dramatic music)
It's gone.
Yeah, I don't hear it anymore.
Jesus Christ.
(man roaring)
(Drew shouting)
Oh my God.
(man laughing)
- What the fuck?
- Dude!
[Grace] What the fuck is your problem?
- Get outta here.
- God, let's just go.
Let's just go.
[Drew] Hey, hey, hey,
Fuck you.
- That little dick!
Ugh, Jesus.
[Drew] I know, he
was just a fuckin' kid.
[Grace] Okay, well I've
had enough deliverance
for one night, so.
Well, you do got pretty mouth, Grace.
You are disgusting.
All right, come on,
let's get back to camp.
Got your brace, 'cause
I'm pretty sure I told you
to bring the other ones, and you're like-
- Okay, but I thought were-
- These are new.
- I thought they were new.
- Why would I bring
the old ones?
- I don't-
[Stranger] Hey!
Change camera.
Oh God.
[Stranger] Bring that camera over here
and gimme 15 minutes of fame.
Kind of an ass.
[Grace] No, we're good,
really. We're really tired.
We're just gonna head back
to camp for the night.
[Stranger] Sweetheart,
I got plenty of beer here,
and one hell of a story to tell you.
I say ignore them and
you just shouted it.
We could interview him.
Fine, but I'm having a beer.
Okay.
- Jake, we good?
- Oh yeah.
Y'all really want to
hear what's out here?
The creature, in the north?
I seen it with my own eyes.
Bigfoot.
Me and my friends
were out there partying,
having a good time.
It got dark real fast.
You don't want to be in
the north part of the woods
during the dark.
That's when it comes out.
That's where he lives.
That's where he hunts.
We started for home, but we were far.
Felt like something was watching us.
Stalking us.
I could feel his presence.
Wasn't a bear.
I know that.
That's when I seen it
running across the tree line.
It was more like an ape.
I ran all the way home.
I didn't look back.
So we've always heard that
Bigfoot is a type of protector
and that he wouldn't really harm anyone,
but with all the recent
disappearances of the hikers,
how would you explain that?
10 years ago, this date,
there was a massacre.
There were two hunters.
They saw a shadow.
A shot ran out,
the bullet landed right
in the chest of the beast,
dropped it to the ground,
and the other hunter,
he was able to kill the
mother and two of the cubs.
But what would all of that have to do
with Bigfoot killing people now?
[Storyteller] So one
cub survived that night,
and that cub
is a full grown adult
living here in these woods.
In his eyes, we're all hunters.
Can you blame him
for defending himself?
[Drew] Thanks again
for the drinks, guys.
[Grace] Goodnight, guys.
Bye sweetheart.
Okay.
I mean, not too bad, right?
Yeah.
A little weird.
But honestly.
- Just a little bit.
Not that bad.
I'm honestly surprised,
they did really good.
- Yeah.
- I think we'll be able to use
everything we got in our video.
I mean, that's the thing, Grace.
Okay, this would be so
much more of a success
if that fucking trail wasn't closed.
God, we need Jeb's interview.
Yeah.
Could you imagine an exclusive
interview with that guy?
Yeah.
I mean, yeah.
We could always just-
Okay, no.
Okay, what about the fine
and the trespassing charge?
Okay, but there's only a
fine if we get caught, Grace.
I mean, the footage would be pretty cool.
No, no, no.
You two stop it, okay?
Okay, say we do go out there, okay?
How are we gonna find this guy?
I've told you a million times, Grace,
you get me out there,
I can find him.
- Drew.
Don't you want your exclusive?
Your exclusive, Grace.
Okay, fine.
Okay, but if we get
caught, it was Jake's idea.
Yeah.
Hey.
Hey.
I think I got all of our
footage backed up for today.
Awesome.
All right, you ready to go to bed?
Ah, no.
I'll probably stay up
for a little bit longer.
You all right?
Yeah.
I'm just really excited.
Yeah, me too.
You know, with everything
that's going on here,
it is pretty peaceful at night.
Well,
since we're up, you wanna
get some more footage?
Yeah.
Yeah?
Do you wanna go wake Jake up?
Yes.
[Grace] Jake.
Jake.
[Jake] What?
[Grace] We can't sleep.
[Jake] Okay, why is that my problem?
[Drew] We just gotta
shoot one thing, all right?
It's fucking late.
We have a long hike tomorrow.
[Grace] Oh my God, you're fine.
Come on, princess.
Right now we're standing
in the last known spot
of the most recent missing hiker.
Harper Murphy, age 25,
went on a hike 2 weeks ago.
She met up with a few other hikers
and decided to set up
camp here for the night.
That was the last time
anyone's heard from her.
Search and rescue has been
combing through the area
for the past week, and
they're trying their best,
but resources are spread pretty thin.
Another poster,
another unsolved mystery.
And then there's Jeb, our local hermit,
and rumors are starting to circulate.
People here haven't forgotten,
and the connection to the
most recent missing hiker,
it's on everyone's mind.
But we're gonna find Jeb
and we're gonna interview him,
an exclusive story,
and we're gonna find out
what exactly happened
that fateful night.
And hopefully, what
happened to Harper Murphy.
Okay, so title, right?
[Grace] Yeah.
"The Hermit Hunt."
(Grace snickering)
What?
He has a name.
God, I just really hope
we don't get caught.
[Drew] Well, if we get arrested,
Jake, we are using your cut to post bail.
[Jake] That should mean I get a raise.
Okay.
Yeah, we land a Netflix deal,
you can come talk to us, buddy.
[Grace] I feel like
we should probably head
to bed for the night,
'cause we got a super duper
early morning tomorrow.
[Drew] Okay.
(twig snapping)
What was that?
- Jake?
- Oh shit.
I can take you north
where you want to go.
I know where Jeb is.
I heard y'all talking earlier.
You fuckin' following us?
We already talked to the Ranger,
and he told us that-
(Ricky shushing)
I know a better way.
[Grace] Actually, I
think it's really late,
and I think we're just gonna try
to figure it out ourselves
tomorrow morning.
The place will be crawling with rangers
looking for that missing girl.
You won't even get within a mile,
and you're gonna get caught.
You come with me in the cover of darkness,
I'll get you there, no fines.
[Drew] Okay, how do
you know where he is?
These are my woods.
I know them like the back of my hand.
I can find anybody, I mean
anybody in this forest.
[Grace] Okay, what's the catch?
Straight to the point, I love it.
Okay, look, I'm sorry.
We don't even know who you are.
How can we trust you?
Listen, the choice is yours.
You could go tomorrow,
catch a trespassing charge,
get fined, but I know
that's not the type of ending
you want for your little film.
[Grace] We can do 200,
take it or leave it.
You drive a hard bargain, beautiful.
That's a deal.
100 now,
you show us the hermit,
your get second hundred.
That's fine.
But we need to leave now.
It's a 12-mile hike, and the
rangers rise with the sun.
What the fuck was that, Grace?
I don't know.
But he is our best shot
at finding this guy
and actually getting an interview.
We have to go with him.
Come on, come on.
So you guys have everything?
- Yep.
- Cool.
Ready?
Well, you promised some $200,
Grace, so I guess I'm ready.
(ominous music)
Jake.
Okay.
I know I'm not the only
one who thinks this is
fuckin' weird, okay?
But I don't wanna freak grace out.
This guy's giving me a weird vibe,
so I need you to do me a favor,
I need you to keep an eye on him.
If anything happens, you
keep him away from Grace.
[Jake] Okay, but I feel like we need
like a code word or something.
Sure.
Mongoose.
(ominous music)
Come on, hurry up.
The hermit's here.
If you look, you'll find him.
Wait, what?
If we look?
No, you were supposed to
show us where he is, man.
Look, we took the river north,
we turned east,
and we went north again.
This is the area.
[Grace] Okay, you said
that you were gonna help us find him.
You said that you were
gonna be able to find Jeb.
What can I say?
He moves around a lot.
Maybe he doesn't want to be found.
He was here last week.
Maybe nature boy here can find him.
That was a huge waste of time.
Yeah.
Well, now it's up to you to find him,
right Mr. Drew the bounty hunter?
That's funny, who's been
saying this entire time, Grace?
That I can find him?
(Grace groaning)
Huh?
(Grace chuckling)
Oh God.
All right, well, I'm
gonna try to make a fire,
so just you guys hang
tight for a second, okay?
Okay.
[Drew] Drew the bounty
hunter, pretty good.
I liked it.
Oh, damn man, you're good to go.
Nah, I'll stay.
I wanna make sure all of y'all are safe.
I'm sure we can handle it.
I'm sure you can.
The fire does keep the creature away.
As a matter of fact,
this is the exact spot the hunters died.
All right, I guess he's staying.
I guess I am.
If you only knew what
was out in these woods,
you'd realize that it wasn't a bear
that killed those hunters.
Do you believe in Bigfoot?
Oh, honey,
I believe in monsters,
but that hermit is way more
frightening than any Bigfoot.
He's dangerous.
He fled to the woods,
lives off the grid.
He even killed his wife.
Probably has something to do
with that missing girl too.
Why do you even want to talk to him?
We were trying to see if we
could possibly interview him.
(stranger chuckling)
So you like to play with fire?
I like that.
Well, we appreciate your concern,
but I think we'll be fine.
I wouldn't want
anything to happen to you.
You're way too beautiful
to be in a missing poster.
Oh, wow, okay.
Yeah, man, I don't want to be a dick here,
but I think it's time for you to leave.
And I think it's time I got paid.
Jesus.
Here, I really think you should leave.
Since you asked so nicely.
(stranger chuckling)
Goodnight.
And beware of the creature
and the hermit,
'cause it'll be a real damn shame
if y'all were found buried
next to his wife and the missing girl.
(stranger chuckling)
(knife scraping)
I'll see you tonight
As I walk away
Do you think he's actually gone?
Fuckin' better be.
He comes back, well, you know.
(fist smacking)
- Oh yeah?
- Yeah.
Just like that?
Call me nature boy one more time,
I swear to God, I dare you, I dare you.
(Grace chuckling)
Do you think that Jeb
actually has anything to
do with that missing girl?
I don't know.
But, I think we need to be careful.
Yeah.
(creature roaring)
Drew, what was that?
Hold on.
(creature roaring)
Christ, whatever that
is, that's not a bear.
(Grace shushing)
Just hold on.
(suspenseful music)
Okay, well there's something
out there right now.
(Drew scoffing)
How much you wanna bet it's Ricky?
Fuck, maybe.
Stay here.
Hey, Ricky, is that you man?
You got your $200, so,
how about ya
fuck off, huh?
I'm not messing around here, dude.
That's what I thought.
Bitch.
(ominous music)
God fuckin' hooded pervert piece of shit.
(creature panting)
Poor dude, we have bug spray.
[Grace] Hey, you making coffee?
Yes ma'am.
[Grace] Oh my God, that smells so good.
Well, it is the best
coffee you're gonna find
in the next 30 miles, so.
[Grace] Ooh, I feel all pampered.
Thanks.
Oh my God, I love you so much.
You better.
[Grace] So, ready to go find Jeb?
Yeah, I was actually
just gonna ask you that.
Just trying to think.
If I were a hermit, where
would I set up camp?
[Grace] I would probably
assume somewhere near the river.
All right, and that's where we'll go.
[Grace] Cool, but I gotta
finish my coffee first.
Okay, I'm gonna go check it out.
The river's really close.
We just gotta get a move on,
'cause it's going to be hot today.
[Grace] Yeah, it feels like it.
Okay, be right back.
[Grace] So, how you
holding up, baby bro?
Doing pretty well.
Cool.
You'll let us know if we're
pushing you too hard, right?
Oh, for sure.
Gotcha.
Because I give you a lot of shit,
but I actually really care about you.
Yeah, ditto.
So, what were your
thoughts on Ricky last night?
Oh, that dude was a total nut job.
Yeah.
I thought Drew was gonna beat his ass.
Me too.
[Drew] Grace.
Yeah, what's up?
Drew, where are you looking at?
Holy shit.
Yeah, I know, right?
Do you think it was a bear?
This doesn't look like bear, Grace.
This is...
[Grace] I mean, it could have been
the one that killed the hunters, right?
I don't know, but if it is,
it definitely looks fresh,
so we should probably keep moving.
[Grace] Well, I'm ready
to go whenever you are.
(ominous music)
So we're out here deep in the
heart of Blackwood Forest.
An area where three
hunters lost their lives
a few weeks back.
However, the interesting part is
not many locals think that it
was a bear that killed them.
Instead, they think that
it could have been Bigfoot.
And we've interviewed
a few of these locals,
and some of you even claim
to have seen the creature
in this area of the woods,
and that that bear that
closed down that trail
wasn't a bear at all.
- And we're still on the hunt
for the notorious reckless Jeb,
who after his wife vanished,
blamed it on Bigfoot.
He was forced off the grid, shunned,
abandoned by his town.
Two tragedies,
both intertwined by mystery
and a mythical creature.
So we're gonna spend
the next couple of nights
and figure out exactly what happened
in this part of the forest.
[Grace] Drew, Jake, come here.
Come take a look at this.
(Drew chuckling)
[Drew] That's what I'm talking about.
[Grace] Right?
[Drew] Did you do this?
[Grace] Uh-uh, I literally
just came across this.
[Drew] You're kidding.
[Grace] Mm-mm.
[Drew] Well, it's clearly fake, Grace.
[Grace] What do you mean?
Well, look at it.
It's like, it's too perfect, right?
And they got those, you know,
those Bigfoot molds that
you can buy in the stores?
I mean, or it could just be fresh.
It could be Ricky.
We did kind of, you know,
tell him off really nice,
so he is probably just
looking for another 200 bucks.
[Grace] I don't know.
I don't know.
Come on, babe.
Let's keep moving.
Grace, come on.
So, how much longer are we thinking?
I don't know.
I just feel like we're so close, right?
I know.
We could always come back
out here tomorrow though.
Okay, yeah.
On the way back, we'll get some
B roll with for us and everything.
Yeah, yeah.
All right.
(ominous music)
[Drew] Hey, guys.
What's up?
[Drew] Come check this out.
[Grace] What'd you find?
[Drew] Here, hold this really quick.
[Grace] Yeah.
This is almost brand new.
[Grace] Whoa.
Do you think it's his?
We found something like
this all the way out here,
then his camp's probably nearby, come on.
[Grace] Jake, Jake, come here.
What'd I say?
What'd I say?
Now that's what I call a hermit camp.
Come on, let's take a closer look.
It's late.
We can't just go and sneak up on him.
True, but,
let's at least go check it out.
Okay, he probably hasn't
even had any human contact
since he was acquitted.
Why can't we just wait until morning?
(Drew sighing)
Counterpoint, what if he leaves by then?
Come on, babe.
Let's go get that exclusive.
[Grace] Wow, look at this place.
[Drew] Yep, he was definitely here.
I thought he lived alone, what?
[Grace] Oh.
I don't know.
God, this place is creepy.
Grace, this is still warm.
[Grace] Drew, come here.
Come look at this.
- Whoa.
- Do you see that?
[Drew] Okay, be careful, okay?
Holy shit, why would
he just have a bear trap?
[Drew] Clearly for Bigfoot, right?
Wait, wait, wait, stop, stop, stop.
Holy shit, Grace.
Here.
That's her.
- Fuck!
- What are you two doing here,
huh?
- All right, man.
- We were,
we were just leaving.
- Sorry, sorry,
sorry, sorry.
- What'd you see?
- No offense.
- What are you doing?
- No, we're good, man.
- You got three seconds
to explain yourselves.
- Put it down.
- Three, two, one.
[Grace] What did you do to her?
She's dead.
But it wasn't by my hands.
[Drew] Okay, okay, okay, hey.
Okay, no, come here.
Hey, hey, hey, look at me.
If that's true, you're not a killer?
Prove it, put the gun down, man.
Just put it down.
Okay.
I'm not perfect, eh?
Go on.
I found this inside the backpack.
Go on.
(camera whirring)
(missing girl crying)
[Missing Girl] Please, somebody help me.
(creature roaring)
Somebody.
(creature roaring)
(missing girl crying)
(creature roaring)
(missing girl crying)
(creature roaring)
(missing girl screaming)
(body crunching)
I told you, I didn't kill her.
Can we ask you a few questions?
You may not believe what
I'm going to tell you.
Nobody ever believes me.
Why is that?
They think I murdered my wife.
If you knew how much I
loved that woman, you...
Just start at the beginning.
She was my high school sweetheart.
We spent every weekend
camping, it was our thing.
This very spot is where we spent our time.
The night that your wife went missing,
can you tell us what happened?
We were out here.
We ate some food, drank some wine.
We wanted to stay up a bit longer,
but I went back to get wood.
That's when I heard...
I heard a scream.
Look, I ran as fast as I could,
I saw her being dragged back,
back into the darkness of the forest.
I'm so sorry.
That creature that dragged
her, it was a bear, right?
No, it was too fast, it was too big.
This, this was something else.
Okay, but the fire, it
was dark, you were drinking.
I mean, you're 100% sure it wasn't a bear?
I know what I saw.
I spent a whole life in these woods.
I have a lifetime of experience hunting.
I swear on the head of my firstborn,
this was no one bear.
What did you do next?
I chased after her.
Of course, she was screaming.
I can still hear those screams today.
I ran into the woods as fast as I could,
but it was moving too fast.
And then, the screams, they...
stopped.
It was only me and the
silence of the forest.
Only woman I ever loved.
So you went back to town?
I tried to get help,
guns, hunters, the rangers.
Went back out there, searched for days,
but there was no sign,
only her blood back at my camp
where she was first taken.
That's when they started asking questions.
There was no sign of a
bear attack, no body.
The rescue operation turned
into a murder investigation.
The town that I grew up in,
the town that I loved
turned it's back on me.
God, that's horrible.
You have no idea that
pain I've been through.
But now, now I stay out here.
I'm closer to my wife.
I have a purpose now.
The last thing I will do on this earth
is kill that creature.
You really believe
there's a Bigfoot out here?
That's the whole reason why
I brought you out in my camp,
to help clear my name.
[Grace] To clear your name?
I'm gonna get my revenge
and prove that I did not murder my wife.
How are you going to do that?
You'll see.
Holy shit, we got it.
Do you realize how big this is for us?
This is a game changer for us, Drew.
I know.
So, what's the plan?
What do you mean?
We're gonna go out
there with him, right?
I mean, we got our interview.
We got everything that we
came here for, we're good.
We're done.
- Come on, Grace.
We gotta get the Bigfoot, right?
Drew.
No, come on.
Imagine we slap the word
Bigfoot on this title,
this could be gold, okay?
Imagine the success of
this video financially.
Okay, no, we don't
need that, we're fine.
- No, we're not.
- We're good.
We're fine.
- We're not fine.
I mean, financially for us, Grace,
we're not fine.
- For us?
Yes we are.
- No.
What are you? We're fine.
This video blows up, hey, I can
give you the wedding that you want, right?
God Drew,
this isn't about that.
- I can give you
the honeymoon.
- You know
I'm not asking for that.
- Yeah, I could.
Hey, I could a bigger ring.
- No one is asking for that.
- Just like your dad wanted.
- I don't expect that
from you.
- Come on, Grace.
- No, I'm not fine.
- Grace.
(Drew sighing)
Let me do this.
Drew.
Please.
But...
Jake, what do you wanna do?
[Jake] I don't know,
footage could be pretty cool.
And you sure that
you wanna go out there?
[Jake] If Drew's sure, then I am.
Okay.
But it's not just me
and you this time, okay?
- Okay.
- It's all three of us.
- No, I know, I know.
- So all three of us
need to be safe.
You have to promise me that
we are going to be safe.
Okay?
- Of course, I promise,
I promise.
Okay.
Okay.
Thank you.
Look, I've been tracking him for weeks.
These are the areas that
the creature resides.
These two areas here are
the last time I saw it.
Wait, you actually saw it?
Yeah, two weeks ago to go.
It's moving east towards this area.
We're covered for a tide.
This is where I think
it's gonna be tonight.
This is where we're going.
This is where I'm gonna get my revenge.
This is where I'm going to kill the beast.
(dramatic music)
All right.
We set up here.
I believe the creature
is in this vicinity.
Once we start, there's no backing out.
[Grace] Yeah, we're good.
This creature is fast, strong,
smarter than most human hunters.
You understand this?
Yeah, we do.
There's no going halfway here.
We cannot stop once we begin.
If we see the creature,
we the need to kill it or it will kill us.
It's a good chance we
don't make it out alive.
And finally, you must do
everything that I say.
This is most important.
Any hesitations or failure to
follow my exact instructions
puts each and every one of you in danger.
Do you agree to follow all my orders?
I asked, do you agree to
follow my orders to a T?
- Yes.
- Yes, yeah.
All right.
Let the hunt begin.
(ominous music)
Stop.
I feel it.
I'm going to scout ahead.
Y'all wait here until I call.
You know how to get back to camp, right?
I mean, I know how to get
back to his camp, I think.
Fuck.
Jake, if we tell you to
drop everything and run,
you need to do it, okay?
[Jake] This isn't real, right?
Well, we still need a backup plan.
We don't know how crazy he-
(creature roaring)
What was that?
It was the same noise
I heard last night.
Okay, go Grace, go, go, go.
[Grace] Shit.
Oh my God, okay.
(creature roaring)
Fuck.
Yeah, that's not,
that's not a bear, Grace.
- Come on.
Shit, come on.
[Drew] Jake, come on.
(creature roaring)
- [Grace] Jesus fuck.
(creature roaring)
[Drew] It's getting louder, Grace.
We gotta move, we gotta
move, we gotta do something.
What the fuck is that, Drew?
- Are we going the right way?
- Stay fucking close, Jake.
Is this the fuckin' trail?
I don't know!
(creature roaring)
What the fuck was I doing?
Where the fuck that's coming from.
[Drew] Wait, wait, wait.
What is that?
(ominous music)
Jake, Jake!
It's here.
It's fuckin' here. Come on,
let's go and get after it
before it fucking gets away.
[Grace] Drew, what the fuck is going on?
[Drew] I know, we gotta
get out of here, Grace.
We gotta do something.
[Grace] Okay, well I don't know
where the fuck he's leading us.
[Jeb] Come on.
[Drew] Jake, stay close.
[Jeb] Come on, keep up.
[Grace] Shit, Drew, we are so lost.
Fuck.
It's there.
It's in there.
[Grace] I don't see anything.
(creature roaring)
[Jeb] Come on, let's get him.
Come on!
- What the fuck is that?
I don't know, Grace, go, go.
[Grace] Shit, shit.
(person screaming)
(creature roaring)
Is that a person?
Go, go, go.
[Grace] Shit.
Fuck, where the fuck did that come from?
[Drew] Come over here, come
on, come on, come on, come on.
- Holy shit.
- What was that?
- Holy shit.
- Oh God.
[Grace] I think that's Ricky.
Fuck.
- Fuck.
[Grace] Oh my God.
Oh my God.
We gotta help him, we
can't just Leave him here.
[Drew] What do you want me to do, Grace?
[Grace] I don't know.
- Shit.
- Oh my God.
Oh my God.
(creature roaring)
[Drew] Go, go.
[Grace] Jeez.
Fuck, fuck.
- Go that way, that way, go.
- Fuck, shit, fuck.
Shit, come on.
(creature roaring)
Jesus, this fucking...
(creature roaring)
- Jake, come on.
- Jake, stay behind us,
stay behind us.
(dramatic music)
(Jeb gasping)
Look at that.
(creature roaring)
- Come on.
- Go, go.
(creature roaring)
[Drew] Jake, come on.
[Grace] Fuck, fuck.
Oh my god.
Fuck, fuck he was telling the truth,
Drew, fuck.
- This shit's real, man.
[Grace] Fuck, he was right, fuck.
[Drew] That was fucking Bigfoot.
What are we supposed to do now?
We're fucking lost, what do we do?
I don't...
I think this is the right trail.
I know I got turned around
when we were fuckin'-
We can't be this lost,
we can't be this lost.
- Fuck, fuck.
[Grace] This can't be
fucking happening right now.
Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay.
Hey, hey, we gotta keep going, okay?
We can't stay here.
Okay, we gotta figure
out fucking something to do
because we don't-
(trap snapping)
(Grace screaming)
Get it off, get it off,
get it off, get it off.
- I know, I know, I know.
I know, I know.
- Get it off.
[Drew] Yes, come on.
- Get it off!
- Jake, Jake.
You're okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay.
Okay, hey, hey, I know.
I know, I know, I know, I know,
I know. I need help though.
I need your help, I need your help, okay?
I need you.
Okay, I need you to pull on this hand
as hard as you can.
- I can't, I can't.
- You can, you can, you can.
- I can't.
[Drew] When I say three,
you pull as hard as you can.
You can help me.
One, two, three.
(Grace screaming)
(Grace groaning)
Baby.
Get the bleeding stopped.
- Okay, okay, okay.
(Grace panting)
[Drew] You're all right.
You're okay.
Okay, okay, come on, come on, come on.
(Grace groaning)
- Fuck.
- I know, I know, I know.
[Grace] Drew, this hurts so bad.
[Drew] I'm sorry, I can't...
We can't stop.
(Grace panting)
Little further, little
further, little further.
Right here.
Go, go, go, go, go.
(Grace panting)
(Drew groaning)
Okay, okay, okay, okay.
Okay, you're okay.
Jake, what are you doing?
- Jake, get away from there.
[Drew] Jake, Jake.
[Jake] Where'd it go?
[Grace] Jake, get the
fuck away from there.
- Close the tent.
- Jake, stop.
(Drew shushing)
[Grace] Do you think it's gone?
[Drew] I don't know, I
don't know where it went.
(leaves rustling)
(creature roaring)
(Jake screaming)
Okay, okay, okay.
(creature roaring)
Okay.
(creature growling)
Fuck.
(tense music)
Drew, where'd it go?
I don't know.
[Grace] Where the fuck is it?
(Drew shushing)
I don't hear it, I don't hear it.
[Grace] I can't hear it.
Okay, come on.
Grace, we gotta get out of here.
(Grace crying)
(creature roaring)
(Grace screaming)
(Grace screaming)
[Drew] Grace.
Grace.
Grace, come on, Jake,
Jake, we gotta go, man.
Come on, Jake, we got to.
[Jake] I can't do this.
I can't, I can't.
- We gotta go.
We gotta go get...
Grace!
- Because if we go
after that thing, you
saw what it did to her.
No, no, no, no, hey, hey, hey, hey.
[Jake] It's gonna fucking get us too.
Jake, I know, I know, I know, I know.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.
Look, look at me, listen to me, listen.
Jake, listen.
Stop, Jake, listen to me, Jake.
Jake!
Get your shit together.
(dramatic music)
Let's go get your sister back.
Grace!
Come on, Jake, come on.
You gotta keep up, man, come on.
Jake, come on.
Babe?
Grace.
Grace.
Grace, please.
No, Jake, come on, come on.
Jake, I need your help
with this, all right?
Grace?
Jake, please just keep up.
Fuck.
[Jake] I can't keep up.
[Drew] What?
No, no, no, no.
No, buddy.
Come on.
Use the camera, come on.
[Jake] Can you just gimme a second?
Just a sec.
(creature roaring)
[Drew] Jake!
No!
(Drew whimpering)
Come on.
Come on, Grace.
Where are you?
Where are you?
Come on, Grace.
Come on, come on.
(Drew panting)
Grace?
Grace, Grace, Grace, Grace, Grace.
Grace.
(Drew whimpering)
No, no.
No, no, no.
Grace.
Jesus.
I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry Grace.
I don't know what to do, Grace.
Please, please, you
gotta tell me what to do.
(Drew sobbing)
(creature roaring)
Grace.
(somber music)
It's all your fault.
(Drew whimpering)
Oh, Grace.
I'm sorry, baby.
It's all my fault.
I did this.
(Drew sniffling)
My name is Drew Bennett.
I came out here with my...
My fiance, Grace Parker,
and her little brother Jake.
We came out here to,
we came here to talk to...
It's so fuckin' stupid.
(Drew inhaling deeply)
And we found this...
This thing.
We found this thing, and
it killed Jake Parker.
And then it...
then it,
then it killed Grace Parker.
It's all my fault.
(Drew sobbing)
(somber music)
So I'm gonna kill it.
(tense music)
(door clicking)
(door slamming)
[Shepherd] They never
should have come out here.
I tried to warn them
They should have listened.
They should have listened to me.
Oh No.
(dramatic music)
(Drew gasping)
(somber music)
(tape whirring)
(insects chirping)
All right, let's ready up.
Inventory accounted for, Sarge.
[Hudson] Roger that, Sergeant.
You boys understand
what we're doing tonight.
[Hudson] Mm-hm.
All right, because this is
your last chance to bow out,
and I will not think less of you.
I have to think gonna be no turkey shoot.
I know the risks.
[Hudson] I ain't no bitch.
I'm seeing it through to the end.
All right, Hudson,
you keep that camera
rolling no matter what.
Both of you, keep your eyes
peeled for rangers, all right?
What we're doing ain't exactly legal.
Eyes open, head on a swivel.
Copy that.
All right, good men.
Let's roll out.
[Hudson] Do you think we'll find it?
Pete will find it,
just don't think it's a bear we're after.
[Hudson] Well, then what the fuck is it?
Hey, keep the chatter to a
minimum you two, all right?
We can't afford any mistakes out here.
All right, according to my map,
we are well within its territory now,
so everybody stay on high alert.
You sure it's out there?
Yeah, I'm sure it's outta here, Hicks.
Can't hide behind these
trees forever, though.
We're gonna find it.
(plant shuffling)
[Hicks] The fuck is that man?
[Hudson] Had to be a bear.
[Sergeant] No, no, it's moving
way too fast to be a bear.
[Hicks] Then what the fuck is it?
That's destiny, son.
It's stalking us now.
(dramatic music)
Come on out.
Can't hide forever.
[Hudson] Find it, Sarge, where's it at?
Smell that?
It's close now.
Hold up, hold up, hold up.
I think there's something down there.
Come on out.
Come on.
(creature roaring)
(gun firing)
God damn it.
Shit, we gotta go after him.
The fuck did he go?
Pete.
Where are you, Pete?
Ah, Sarge, come on.
Where are you at, Sarge?
[Hudson] Is that?
[Hicks] Oh God.
Oh God.
[Hudson] No!
Sarge, Sarge, Pete, come on.
We need you to get us
outta here. Come on, Sarge.
(creature roaring)
(Hicks screaming)
Oh fuck.
(hunter panting)
(hunter hyperventilating)
Please God, please don't.
It's not, it's not, it's not happening.
It's not real, it's not
happening, it's not real.
Oh fuck.
Oh fuck.
Oh fuck, fuck, fuck.
(creature roaring)
Fuck.
Oh fuck, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
(man screaming)
(creature roaring)
Fuck.
(creature roaring)
(hunter panting)
(creature roaring)
Hey, hey, help!
(Hicks screaming)
(creature roaring)
Oh fuck, oh fuck.
No!
(suspenseful music)
Oh God.
(creature roaring)
Please God, please.
(creature roaring)
(hunter panting)
(creature roaring) I gotta
get the fuck outta here,
I swear to God.
(creature roaring)
(hunter screaming)
(door slamming)
Okay, do we got the
cameras and everything?
Yep, got the hand held, time lapse,
and all the back-up hard drives.
I think we got everything.
Ready for your first gig?
[Jake] Ready as I'll ever be.
Yeah, don't worry.
Everyone's nervous their first time.
Oh, Drew, did you grab the?
Yes, thank you.
Awesome.
All right.
That's it.
Oh my God.
I almost forgot the most important thing.
You are such a bad influence, my God.
Yeah, Jake, have a
responsible here, man.
- Okay, we good?
- Okay.
Jake, we good?
[Jake] Yep, just let
double check the audio.
You gotta little something.
Okay, all right.
Ready? And...
So we've come to share a story
from the shadows of the Blackwood Forest,
a place soaked in secrets as
dark as the wilderness itself.
We've ventured here to
seek out clues to a mystery
that still haunt this very region.
Hikers have long gone missing
on the trails winding through these woods.
Some even claim to have
seen a beast in the shadows
just beyond the tree line.
But we've come to pursue a mystery
that's far more chilling, an unsolved case
that seems to have caught
national attention.
An unsettling tale about
a local man, Jeb McCoy,
accused of killing his own wife.
The case against him
collapsed and he was acquitted
only to vanish into the
solitude of the forest.
So our plan is to track
him down, document him,
and get his side of the story,
because Jeb insists that he
did not cause his wife's death.
Instead, he claims that a creature came
in the middle of the
night and took his wife,
the creature known as Bigfoot.
So did Jeb really kill his wife,
or was it this mythical creature?
We're gonna spend this
weekend investigating,
and we're gonna find out
what exactly is going on
in this forest.
(insect chirping)
Look.
(suspenseful music)
(suspenseful music fading out)
(Drew knocking)
Drew, look at all these missing hikers.
Yeah, let's try to stay
off this wall, right guys?
Oh, she went missing
just a few weeks ago.
[Park Ranger] Can I help
you guys with something?
[Grace] Yeah, we should have
a reservation for a campsite.
It will be under Grace Parker.
- Parker?
- Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah, Campsite B-33.
[Grace] Yeah.
This one's kind of out there,
you have experience hiking and camping?
Oh yeah, man, we have
hiked our fair share.
Okay, what's with the cameras?
Oh, we run a documentary channel.
We just kind of go around exploring
urban legends and unsolved mysteries,
you know, that kind of thing.
Okay, well you've
come to the right place.
Yeah, man, we're excited to be here,
especially after all
the press at this place.
Yeah.
It's terrible.
The forest is unpredictable, you know?
Not everybody who goes in comes back out.
The place is massive, one of
the largest in the country.
You might think you're going one way,
get turned around, never come out.
We've set up camp and
hike, tougher terrain.
- Yeah.
- So, we'll be okay.
I'm sure you have,
but don't make my job
harder than it is, okay?
Stick to the trail.
Don't disturb the locals.
There's already enough going
on with Jeb in the press.
We won't be a problem, I promise.
We're just gonna camp here for the night,
and then we're gonna head to
the Whitlow Trail tomorrow.
Well, I hate to be
the bearer of bad news,
but Whitlow trail's closed
'til further notice.
There was a bear attack couple weeks ago,
killed three hunters.
I mean, we understand the risks, man.
And then we're not rookies.
We've even counted more
bears than we can count.
There's not some sort of
arrangement we can make,
or?
- No.
I mean, you could come with us.
You can make sure we stay
safe and stay on the trail.
We could even pay you for
your time if you wanted.
I get it, I get it. You're frustrated,
you're not going where you want
to go, but rules are rules.
We have to prioritize safety now.
If anybody is caught sneaking onto a trail
they're not supposed to be on,
you're gonna get hit
with a trespassing charge
and a fine of a thousand dollars each.
(Drew sighing)
Here.
That's a more tourist friendly trail.
I think you'll enjoy it, real easy hike,
no danger, nice and safe, okay?
Enjoy your trip.
Lemme know if you need anything else.
So, how you doing?
Oh, you know, just spent
all this money on the gear,
and Smokey the Bear won't
let us go down that trail.
I mean, it sucks,
but we can still interview
some people, right?
We can get some pretty good B roll.
That should be enough for a video, right?
B roll? Grace, come on,
that's not gonna cut it.
Fuck, I can't believe it's closed.
I mean, it would be really
nice to get Jeb's interview.
Yeah.
Why don't we just head
back to camp for the night?
If we can get some sleep,
and then maybe in the morning
we can kind of see what our options are?
I feel like that's kind of
all we can do at this point.
Or.
Or?
We risk the fine go on the trail anyway.
Come on, Grace. That's
why we came here, right?
We should at least check it out.
Drew.
(Grace groaning)
Okay, if we do this, I
wanna do it legally, okay?
I don't wanna get hit
with a trespassing charge
and then a fine of a
thousand dollars each.
Also, this forest is freaking huge.
How are we even gonna find this guy?
Oh, okay.
You're gonna track him down?
Grace, you put me out
there, I can find him.
Drew, I love you so much
and I appreciate your confidence so much.
Okay.
But I really don't think
that we're gonna be able to do that.
So, a bit of a hiccup.
Due to the recent event
involving the death of three hunters,
the trail that we intended to go down
to find our hermit is closed.
As you know, we are
trying to find Jeb McCoy,
the man who has recently been
accused of murdering his wife.
However, we are still
hopeful that we'll be able
to find a way around this
and get our interview.
[Drew] All right,
Grace, question for you.
You get your interview with the hermit?
[Grace] Yeah.
[Drew] First question
that comes to your mind,
what are you asking him? Go.
I don't really know.
Come on.
I just wanna hear his
side of the story, you know?
- All right.
- What about you?
[Drew] Location of
his wife's grave maybe?
Or, why the name Jeb?
[Grace] Okay, so you're
not buying the whole
"Bigfoot murdered my wife" story?
No, are you?
I don't know.
Maybe.
I don't really know
what to believe anymore.
I mean, he was acquitted.
No motive, no weapon, no body, no nothing.
Well, maybe he got creative, Grace.
[Grace] Well, that's true.
I mean, pigs can eat up a whole body.
Or just, I mean, leaving a barrel of acid
for a few days and that
shit's just like, gone.
What?
I listen to a lot of true crime.
I didn't say anything.
Rethinking our engagement?
No, no, just,
I just gotta ask, you know,
did you kill Jeb's wife?
- Oh my God,
I can't fucking stand you.
(Grace chuckling)
[Drew] All right, what the fuck?
[Grace] Okay, that's kind of creepy.
[Drew] Why is he just
standing there like a weirdo?
[Grace] I don't know.
Sir, can we help you?
[Drew] I'm gonna get the knife.
[Grace] Don't get your knife.
Hey, are you lost?
(Drew clearing throat)
[Drew] Excuse me.
We're just passing through.
We don't wanna startle you.
Just wanna make sure you're all right.
Hello?
Grace, I don't...
- I don't know.
You could just,
just go up to him.
- Okay.
Hey, man.
Everything okay?
(stranger shushing)
Listen.
The forest comes alive at night.
There are creatures out here
that are nocturnal.
If you listen closely,
you can hear 'em.
[Grace] Can we ask what
you're doing out here?
It's peaceful out here.
I try to lend a hand
to those lost
wandering in the woods.
[Grace] What do you mean?
The missing ones.
I try to find them, shepherd
them back to safety.
I've been searching for a camper
gone missing recently.
[Grace] Are you talking
about Harper Murphy?
That's her.
Just a kid, really.
Been out there about a
week now, poor thing.
[Drew] Have you seen any other campers?
Every now and then, yes.
But this time,
I'm not so sure.
I've got a bad feeling
that something
awful may have happened to her.
You two had better be careful.
I'd hate to be the one searching for you.
It's not safe to be this
far out off the trail.
I'd advise going back to your campground.
[Grace] What do you mean not safe?
Sometimes...
It's not the creatures of
the woods you gotta fear,
it's the people
living out here.
They
are the real monsters.
[Drew] Okay.
Come on, come on, come on.
Drew, what the fuck was that?
I mean, I should have asked
what fuckin' drugs he had.
[Grace] Oh my, let's
just get back to camp.
How's the map looking, Parker?
The problem is, is that this
area right here is flooded.
Oh.
Is there no other way around?
I mean, it's kind of hard to tell,
'cause the rainy season's
been really bad this year.
Because there's a bridge we'd
have to cross to get there,
and it's probably blocked
if the trail is closed off.
[Drew] Hmm.
What if...
What if we circled around like,
like...
Stupid, I don't even know.
It's all you, Grace.
- Okay, well like,
I mean, we could circle
around probably this way, but,
God, you're looking at like
probably a 12-mile hike
with all of our gear,
if you'd wanna do that.
Do you?
[Jake] Please for the love
of God, don't make me do that.
Yeah, no.
Okay, how about this?
How about we just, we scout it out,
see if the trail's flooded.
If it is, we can at least get some
footage of the forest at night.
- Okay.
- Yeah?
I'm down.
How have you never had
a pickle back, Grace?
[Grace] Okay, I've just
never gotten around to it.
Man, you take some Irish whiskey,
chase it with some pickled juice.
- Oh my God.
- It is going
to change your life, Grace.
- Fine,
I'll try 'em when I get home.
(leaves rustling)
You hear that?
[Grace] Yeah.
[Drew] Hello?
(leaves rustling)
It sounds like someone's
walking around, right?
[Grace] Where the fuck
is that even coming from?
[Drew] We don't want
to freak anyone out.
We're just passing through,
just a few campers.
(dramatic music)
It's gone.
Yeah, I don't hear it anymore.
Jesus Christ.
(man roaring)
(Drew shouting)
Oh my God.
(man laughing)
- What the fuck?
- Dude!
[Grace] What the fuck is your problem?
- Get outta here.
- God, let's just go.
Let's just go.
[Drew] Hey, hey, hey,
Fuck you.
- That little dick!
Ugh, Jesus.
[Drew] I know, he
was just a fuckin' kid.
[Grace] Okay, well I've
had enough deliverance
for one night, so.
Well, you do got pretty mouth, Grace.
You are disgusting.
All right, come on,
let's get back to camp.
Got your brace, 'cause
I'm pretty sure I told you
to bring the other ones, and you're like-
- Okay, but I thought were-
- These are new.
- I thought they were new.
- Why would I bring
the old ones?
- I don't-
[Stranger] Hey!
Change camera.
Oh God.
[Stranger] Bring that camera over here
and gimme 15 minutes of fame.
Kind of an ass.
[Grace] No, we're good,
really. We're really tired.
We're just gonna head back
to camp for the night.
[Stranger] Sweetheart,
I got plenty of beer here,
and one hell of a story to tell you.
I say ignore them and
you just shouted it.
We could interview him.
Fine, but I'm having a beer.
Okay.
- Jake, we good?
- Oh yeah.
Y'all really want to
hear what's out here?
The creature, in the north?
I seen it with my own eyes.
Bigfoot.
Me and my friends
were out there partying,
having a good time.
It got dark real fast.
You don't want to be in
the north part of the woods
during the dark.
That's when it comes out.
That's where he lives.
That's where he hunts.
We started for home, but we were far.
Felt like something was watching us.
Stalking us.
I could feel his presence.
Wasn't a bear.
I know that.
That's when I seen it
running across the tree line.
It was more like an ape.
I ran all the way home.
I didn't look back.
So we've always heard that
Bigfoot is a type of protector
and that he wouldn't really harm anyone,
but with all the recent
disappearances of the hikers,
how would you explain that?
10 years ago, this date,
there was a massacre.
There were two hunters.
They saw a shadow.
A shot ran out,
the bullet landed right
in the chest of the beast,
dropped it to the ground,
and the other hunter,
he was able to kill the
mother and two of the cubs.
But what would all of that have to do
with Bigfoot killing people now?
[Storyteller] So one
cub survived that night,
and that cub
is a full grown adult
living here in these woods.
In his eyes, we're all hunters.
Can you blame him
for defending himself?
[Drew] Thanks again
for the drinks, guys.
[Grace] Goodnight, guys.
Bye sweetheart.
Okay.
I mean, not too bad, right?
Yeah.
A little weird.
But honestly.
- Just a little bit.
Not that bad.
I'm honestly surprised,
they did really good.
- Yeah.
- I think we'll be able to use
everything we got in our video.
I mean, that's the thing, Grace.
Okay, this would be so
much more of a success
if that fucking trail wasn't closed.
God, we need Jeb's interview.
Yeah.
Could you imagine an exclusive
interview with that guy?
Yeah.
I mean, yeah.
We could always just-
Okay, no.
Okay, what about the fine
and the trespassing charge?
Okay, but there's only a
fine if we get caught, Grace.
I mean, the footage would be pretty cool.
No, no, no.
You two stop it, okay?
Okay, say we do go out there, okay?
How are we gonna find this guy?
I've told you a million times, Grace,
you get me out there,
I can find him.
- Drew.
Don't you want your exclusive?
Your exclusive, Grace.
Okay, fine.
Okay, but if we get
caught, it was Jake's idea.
Yeah.
Hey.
Hey.
I think I got all of our
footage backed up for today.
Awesome.
All right, you ready to go to bed?
Ah, no.
I'll probably stay up
for a little bit longer.
You all right?
Yeah.
I'm just really excited.
Yeah, me too.
You know, with everything
that's going on here,
it is pretty peaceful at night.
Well,
since we're up, you wanna
get some more footage?
Yeah.
Yeah?
Do you wanna go wake Jake up?
Yes.
[Grace] Jake.
Jake.
[Jake] What?
[Grace] We can't sleep.
[Jake] Okay, why is that my problem?
[Drew] We just gotta
shoot one thing, all right?
It's fucking late.
We have a long hike tomorrow.
[Grace] Oh my God, you're fine.
Come on, princess.
Right now we're standing
in the last known spot
of the most recent missing hiker.
Harper Murphy, age 25,
went on a hike 2 weeks ago.
She met up with a few other hikers
and decided to set up
camp here for the night.
That was the last time
anyone's heard from her.
Search and rescue has been
combing through the area
for the past week, and
they're trying their best,
but resources are spread pretty thin.
Another poster,
another unsolved mystery.
And then there's Jeb, our local hermit,
and rumors are starting to circulate.
People here haven't forgotten,
and the connection to the
most recent missing hiker,
it's on everyone's mind.
But we're gonna find Jeb
and we're gonna interview him,
an exclusive story,
and we're gonna find out
what exactly happened
that fateful night.
And hopefully, what
happened to Harper Murphy.
Okay, so title, right?
[Grace] Yeah.
"The Hermit Hunt."
(Grace snickering)
What?
He has a name.
God, I just really hope
we don't get caught.
[Drew] Well, if we get arrested,
Jake, we are using your cut to post bail.
[Jake] That should mean I get a raise.
Okay.
Yeah, we land a Netflix deal,
you can come talk to us, buddy.
[Grace] I feel like
we should probably head
to bed for the night,
'cause we got a super duper
early morning tomorrow.
[Drew] Okay.
(twig snapping)
What was that?
- Jake?
- Oh shit.
I can take you north
where you want to go.
I know where Jeb is.
I heard y'all talking earlier.
You fuckin' following us?
We already talked to the Ranger,
and he told us that-
(Ricky shushing)
I know a better way.
[Grace] Actually, I
think it's really late,
and I think we're just gonna try
to figure it out ourselves
tomorrow morning.
The place will be crawling with rangers
looking for that missing girl.
You won't even get within a mile,
and you're gonna get caught.
You come with me in the cover of darkness,
I'll get you there, no fines.
[Drew] Okay, how do
you know where he is?
These are my woods.
I know them like the back of my hand.
I can find anybody, I mean
anybody in this forest.
[Grace] Okay, what's the catch?
Straight to the point, I love it.
Okay, look, I'm sorry.
We don't even know who you are.
How can we trust you?
Listen, the choice is yours.
You could go tomorrow,
catch a trespassing charge,
get fined, but I know
that's not the type of ending
you want for your little film.
[Grace] We can do 200,
take it or leave it.
You drive a hard bargain, beautiful.
That's a deal.
100 now,
you show us the hermit,
your get second hundred.
That's fine.
But we need to leave now.
It's a 12-mile hike, and the
rangers rise with the sun.
What the fuck was that, Grace?
I don't know.
But he is our best shot
at finding this guy
and actually getting an interview.
We have to go with him.
Come on, come on.
So you guys have everything?
- Yep.
- Cool.
Ready?
Well, you promised some $200,
Grace, so I guess I'm ready.
(ominous music)
Jake.
Okay.
I know I'm not the only
one who thinks this is
fuckin' weird, okay?
But I don't wanna freak grace out.
This guy's giving me a weird vibe,
so I need you to do me a favor,
I need you to keep an eye on him.
If anything happens, you
keep him away from Grace.
[Jake] Okay, but I feel like we need
like a code word or something.
Sure.
Mongoose.
(ominous music)
Come on, hurry up.
The hermit's here.
If you look, you'll find him.
Wait, what?
If we look?
No, you were supposed to
show us where he is, man.
Look, we took the river north,
we turned east,
and we went north again.
This is the area.
[Grace] Okay, you said
that you were gonna help us find him.
You said that you were
gonna be able to find Jeb.
What can I say?
He moves around a lot.
Maybe he doesn't want to be found.
He was here last week.
Maybe nature boy here can find him.
That was a huge waste of time.
Yeah.
Well, now it's up to you to find him,
right Mr. Drew the bounty hunter?
That's funny, who's been
saying this entire time, Grace?
That I can find him?
(Grace groaning)
Huh?
(Grace chuckling)
Oh God.
All right, well, I'm
gonna try to make a fire,
so just you guys hang
tight for a second, okay?
Okay.
[Drew] Drew the bounty
hunter, pretty good.
I liked it.
Oh, damn man, you're good to go.
Nah, I'll stay.
I wanna make sure all of y'all are safe.
I'm sure we can handle it.
I'm sure you can.
The fire does keep the creature away.
As a matter of fact,
this is the exact spot the hunters died.
All right, I guess he's staying.
I guess I am.
If you only knew what
was out in these woods,
you'd realize that it wasn't a bear
that killed those hunters.
Do you believe in Bigfoot?
Oh, honey,
I believe in monsters,
but that hermit is way more
frightening than any Bigfoot.
He's dangerous.
He fled to the woods,
lives off the grid.
He even killed his wife.
Probably has something to do
with that missing girl too.
Why do you even want to talk to him?
We were trying to see if we
could possibly interview him.
(stranger chuckling)
So you like to play with fire?
I like that.
Well, we appreciate your concern,
but I think we'll be fine.
I wouldn't want
anything to happen to you.
You're way too beautiful
to be in a missing poster.
Oh, wow, okay.
Yeah, man, I don't want to be a dick here,
but I think it's time for you to leave.
And I think it's time I got paid.
Jesus.
Here, I really think you should leave.
Since you asked so nicely.
(stranger chuckling)
Goodnight.
And beware of the creature
and the hermit,
'cause it'll be a real damn shame
if y'all were found buried
next to his wife and the missing girl.
(stranger chuckling)
(knife scraping)
I'll see you tonight
As I walk away
Do you think he's actually gone?
Fuckin' better be.
He comes back, well, you know.
(fist smacking)
- Oh yeah?
- Yeah.
Just like that?
Call me nature boy one more time,
I swear to God, I dare you, I dare you.
(Grace chuckling)
Do you think that Jeb
actually has anything to
do with that missing girl?
I don't know.
But, I think we need to be careful.
Yeah.
(creature roaring)
Drew, what was that?
Hold on.
(creature roaring)
Christ, whatever that
is, that's not a bear.
(Grace shushing)
Just hold on.
(suspenseful music)
Okay, well there's something
out there right now.
(Drew scoffing)
How much you wanna bet it's Ricky?
Fuck, maybe.
Stay here.
Hey, Ricky, is that you man?
You got your $200, so,
how about ya
fuck off, huh?
I'm not messing around here, dude.
That's what I thought.
Bitch.
(ominous music)
God fuckin' hooded pervert piece of shit.
(creature panting)
Poor dude, we have bug spray.
[Grace] Hey, you making coffee?
Yes ma'am.
[Grace] Oh my God, that smells so good.
Well, it is the best
coffee you're gonna find
in the next 30 miles, so.
[Grace] Ooh, I feel all pampered.
Thanks.
Oh my God, I love you so much.
You better.
[Grace] So, ready to go find Jeb?
Yeah, I was actually
just gonna ask you that.
Just trying to think.
If I were a hermit, where
would I set up camp?
[Grace] I would probably
assume somewhere near the river.
All right, and that's where we'll go.
[Grace] Cool, but I gotta
finish my coffee first.
Okay, I'm gonna go check it out.
The river's really close.
We just gotta get a move on,
'cause it's going to be hot today.
[Grace] Yeah, it feels like it.
Okay, be right back.
[Grace] So, how you
holding up, baby bro?
Doing pretty well.
Cool.
You'll let us know if we're
pushing you too hard, right?
Oh, for sure.
Gotcha.
Because I give you a lot of shit,
but I actually really care about you.
Yeah, ditto.
So, what were your
thoughts on Ricky last night?
Oh, that dude was a total nut job.
Yeah.
I thought Drew was gonna beat his ass.
Me too.
[Drew] Grace.
Yeah, what's up?
Drew, where are you looking at?
Holy shit.
Yeah, I know, right?
Do you think it was a bear?
This doesn't look like bear, Grace.
This is...
[Grace] I mean, it could have been
the one that killed the hunters, right?
I don't know, but if it is,
it definitely looks fresh,
so we should probably keep moving.
[Grace] Well, I'm ready
to go whenever you are.
(ominous music)
So we're out here deep in the
heart of Blackwood Forest.
An area where three
hunters lost their lives
a few weeks back.
However, the interesting part is
not many locals think that it
was a bear that killed them.
Instead, they think that
it could have been Bigfoot.
And we've interviewed
a few of these locals,
and some of you even claim
to have seen the creature
in this area of the woods,
and that that bear that
closed down that trail
wasn't a bear at all.
- And we're still on the hunt
for the notorious reckless Jeb,
who after his wife vanished,
blamed it on Bigfoot.
He was forced off the grid, shunned,
abandoned by his town.
Two tragedies,
both intertwined by mystery
and a mythical creature.
So we're gonna spend
the next couple of nights
and figure out exactly what happened
in this part of the forest.
[Grace] Drew, Jake, come here.
Come take a look at this.
(Drew chuckling)
[Drew] That's what I'm talking about.
[Grace] Right?
[Drew] Did you do this?
[Grace] Uh-uh, I literally
just came across this.
[Drew] You're kidding.
[Grace] Mm-mm.
[Drew] Well, it's clearly fake, Grace.
[Grace] What do you mean?
Well, look at it.
It's like, it's too perfect, right?
And they got those, you know,
those Bigfoot molds that
you can buy in the stores?
I mean, or it could just be fresh.
It could be Ricky.
We did kind of, you know,
tell him off really nice,
so he is probably just
looking for another 200 bucks.
[Grace] I don't know.
I don't know.
Come on, babe.
Let's keep moving.
Grace, come on.
So, how much longer are we thinking?
I don't know.
I just feel like we're so close, right?
I know.
We could always come back
out here tomorrow though.
Okay, yeah.
On the way back, we'll get some
B roll with for us and everything.
Yeah, yeah.
All right.
(ominous music)
[Drew] Hey, guys.
What's up?
[Drew] Come check this out.
[Grace] What'd you find?
[Drew] Here, hold this really quick.
[Grace] Yeah.
This is almost brand new.
[Grace] Whoa.
Do you think it's his?
We found something like
this all the way out here,
then his camp's probably nearby, come on.
[Grace] Jake, Jake, come here.
What'd I say?
What'd I say?
Now that's what I call a hermit camp.
Come on, let's take a closer look.
It's late.
We can't just go and sneak up on him.
True, but,
let's at least go check it out.
Okay, he probably hasn't
even had any human contact
since he was acquitted.
Why can't we just wait until morning?
(Drew sighing)
Counterpoint, what if he leaves by then?
Come on, babe.
Let's go get that exclusive.
[Grace] Wow, look at this place.
[Drew] Yep, he was definitely here.
I thought he lived alone, what?
[Grace] Oh.
I don't know.
God, this place is creepy.
Grace, this is still warm.
[Grace] Drew, come here.
Come look at this.
- Whoa.
- Do you see that?
[Drew] Okay, be careful, okay?
Holy shit, why would
he just have a bear trap?
[Drew] Clearly for Bigfoot, right?
Wait, wait, wait, stop, stop, stop.
Holy shit, Grace.
Here.
That's her.
- Fuck!
- What are you two doing here,
huh?
- All right, man.
- We were,
we were just leaving.
- Sorry, sorry,
sorry, sorry.
- What'd you see?
- No offense.
- What are you doing?
- No, we're good, man.
- You got three seconds
to explain yourselves.
- Put it down.
- Three, two, one.
[Grace] What did you do to her?
She's dead.
But it wasn't by my hands.
[Drew] Okay, okay, okay, hey.
Okay, no, come here.
Hey, hey, hey, look at me.
If that's true, you're not a killer?
Prove it, put the gun down, man.
Just put it down.
Okay.
I'm not perfect, eh?
Go on.
I found this inside the backpack.
Go on.
(camera whirring)
(missing girl crying)
[Missing Girl] Please, somebody help me.
(creature roaring)
Somebody.
(creature roaring)
(missing girl crying)
(creature roaring)
(missing girl crying)
(creature roaring)
(missing girl screaming)
(body crunching)
I told you, I didn't kill her.
Can we ask you a few questions?
You may not believe what
I'm going to tell you.
Nobody ever believes me.
Why is that?
They think I murdered my wife.
If you knew how much I
loved that woman, you...
Just start at the beginning.
She was my high school sweetheart.
We spent every weekend
camping, it was our thing.
This very spot is where we spent our time.
The night that your wife went missing,
can you tell us what happened?
We were out here.
We ate some food, drank some wine.
We wanted to stay up a bit longer,
but I went back to get wood.
That's when I heard...
I heard a scream.
Look, I ran as fast as I could,
I saw her being dragged back,
back into the darkness of the forest.
I'm so sorry.
That creature that dragged
her, it was a bear, right?
No, it was too fast, it was too big.
This, this was something else.
Okay, but the fire, it
was dark, you were drinking.
I mean, you're 100% sure it wasn't a bear?
I know what I saw.
I spent a whole life in these woods.
I have a lifetime of experience hunting.
I swear on the head of my firstborn,
this was no one bear.
What did you do next?
I chased after her.
Of course, she was screaming.
I can still hear those screams today.
I ran into the woods as fast as I could,
but it was moving too fast.
And then, the screams, they...
stopped.
It was only me and the
silence of the forest.
Only woman I ever loved.
So you went back to town?
I tried to get help,
guns, hunters, the rangers.
Went back out there, searched for days,
but there was no sign,
only her blood back at my camp
where she was first taken.
That's when they started asking questions.
There was no sign of a
bear attack, no body.
The rescue operation turned
into a murder investigation.
The town that I grew up in,
the town that I loved
turned it's back on me.
God, that's horrible.
You have no idea that
pain I've been through.
But now, now I stay out here.
I'm closer to my wife.
I have a purpose now.
The last thing I will do on this earth
is kill that creature.
You really believe
there's a Bigfoot out here?
That's the whole reason why
I brought you out in my camp,
to help clear my name.
[Grace] To clear your name?
I'm gonna get my revenge
and prove that I did not murder my wife.
How are you going to do that?
You'll see.
Holy shit, we got it.
Do you realize how big this is for us?
This is a game changer for us, Drew.
I know.
So, what's the plan?
What do you mean?
We're gonna go out
there with him, right?
I mean, we got our interview.
We got everything that we
came here for, we're good.
We're done.
- Come on, Grace.
We gotta get the Bigfoot, right?
Drew.
No, come on.
Imagine we slap the word
Bigfoot on this title,
this could be gold, okay?
Imagine the success of
this video financially.
Okay, no, we don't
need that, we're fine.
- No, we're not.
- We're good.
We're fine.
- We're not fine.
I mean, financially for us, Grace,
we're not fine.
- For us?
Yes we are.
- No.
What are you? We're fine.
This video blows up, hey, I can
give you the wedding that you want, right?
God Drew,
this isn't about that.
- I can give you
the honeymoon.
- You know
I'm not asking for that.
- Yeah, I could.
Hey, I could a bigger ring.
- No one is asking for that.
- Just like your dad wanted.
- I don't expect that
from you.
- Come on, Grace.
- No, I'm not fine.
- Grace.
(Drew sighing)
Let me do this.
Drew.
Please.
But...
Jake, what do you wanna do?
[Jake] I don't know,
footage could be pretty cool.
And you sure that
you wanna go out there?
[Jake] If Drew's sure, then I am.
Okay.
But it's not just me
and you this time, okay?
- Okay.
- It's all three of us.
- No, I know, I know.
- So all three of us
need to be safe.
You have to promise me that
we are going to be safe.
Okay?
- Of course, I promise,
I promise.
Okay.
Okay.
Thank you.
Look, I've been tracking him for weeks.
These are the areas that
the creature resides.
These two areas here are
the last time I saw it.
Wait, you actually saw it?
Yeah, two weeks ago to go.
It's moving east towards this area.
We're covered for a tide.
This is where I think
it's gonna be tonight.
This is where we're going.
This is where I'm gonna get my revenge.
This is where I'm going to kill the beast.
(dramatic music)
All right.
We set up here.
I believe the creature
is in this vicinity.
Once we start, there's no backing out.
[Grace] Yeah, we're good.
This creature is fast, strong,
smarter than most human hunters.
You understand this?
Yeah, we do.
There's no going halfway here.
We cannot stop once we begin.
If we see the creature,
we the need to kill it or it will kill us.
It's a good chance we
don't make it out alive.
And finally, you must do
everything that I say.
This is most important.
Any hesitations or failure to
follow my exact instructions
puts each and every one of you in danger.
Do you agree to follow all my orders?
I asked, do you agree to
follow my orders to a T?
- Yes.
- Yes, yeah.
All right.
Let the hunt begin.
(ominous music)
Stop.
I feel it.
I'm going to scout ahead.
Y'all wait here until I call.
You know how to get back to camp, right?
I mean, I know how to get
back to his camp, I think.
Fuck.
Jake, if we tell you to
drop everything and run,
you need to do it, okay?
[Jake] This isn't real, right?
Well, we still need a backup plan.
We don't know how crazy he-
(creature roaring)
What was that?
It was the same noise
I heard last night.
Okay, go Grace, go, go, go.
[Grace] Shit.
Oh my God, okay.
(creature roaring)
Fuck.
Yeah, that's not,
that's not a bear, Grace.
- Come on.
Shit, come on.
[Drew] Jake, come on.
(creature roaring)
- [Grace] Jesus fuck.
(creature roaring)
[Drew] It's getting louder, Grace.
We gotta move, we gotta
move, we gotta do something.
What the fuck is that, Drew?
- Are we going the right way?
- Stay fucking close, Jake.
Is this the fuckin' trail?
I don't know!
(creature roaring)
What the fuck was I doing?
Where the fuck that's coming from.
[Drew] Wait, wait, wait.
What is that?
(ominous music)
Jake, Jake!
It's here.
It's fuckin' here. Come on,
let's go and get after it
before it fucking gets away.
[Grace] Drew, what the fuck is going on?
[Drew] I know, we gotta
get out of here, Grace.
We gotta do something.
[Grace] Okay, well I don't know
where the fuck he's leading us.
[Jeb] Come on.
[Drew] Jake, stay close.
[Jeb] Come on, keep up.
[Grace] Shit, Drew, we are so lost.
Fuck.
It's there.
It's in there.
[Grace] I don't see anything.
(creature roaring)
[Jeb] Come on, let's get him.
Come on!
- What the fuck is that?
I don't know, Grace, go, go.
[Grace] Shit, shit.
(person screaming)
(creature roaring)
Is that a person?
Go, go, go.
[Grace] Shit.
Fuck, where the fuck did that come from?
[Drew] Come over here, come
on, come on, come on, come on.
- Holy shit.
- What was that?
- Holy shit.
- Oh God.
[Grace] I think that's Ricky.
Fuck.
- Fuck.
[Grace] Oh my God.
Oh my God.
We gotta help him, we
can't just Leave him here.
[Drew] What do you want me to do, Grace?
[Grace] I don't know.
- Shit.
- Oh my God.
Oh my God.
(creature roaring)
[Drew] Go, go.
[Grace] Jeez.
Fuck, fuck.
- Go that way, that way, go.
- Fuck, shit, fuck.
Shit, come on.
(creature roaring)
Jesus, this fucking...
(creature roaring)
- Jake, come on.
- Jake, stay behind us,
stay behind us.
(dramatic music)
(Jeb gasping)
Look at that.
(creature roaring)
- Come on.
- Go, go.
(creature roaring)
[Drew] Jake, come on.
[Grace] Fuck, fuck.
Oh my god.
Fuck, fuck he was telling the truth,
Drew, fuck.
- This shit's real, man.
[Grace] Fuck, he was right, fuck.
[Drew] That was fucking Bigfoot.
What are we supposed to do now?
We're fucking lost, what do we do?
I don't...
I think this is the right trail.
I know I got turned around
when we were fuckin'-
We can't be this lost,
we can't be this lost.
- Fuck, fuck.
[Grace] This can't be
fucking happening right now.
Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay.
Hey, hey, we gotta keep going, okay?
We can't stay here.
Okay, we gotta figure
out fucking something to do
because we don't-
(trap snapping)
(Grace screaming)
Get it off, get it off,
get it off, get it off.
- I know, I know, I know.
I know, I know.
- Get it off.
[Drew] Yes, come on.
- Get it off!
- Jake, Jake.
You're okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay.
Okay, hey, hey, I know.
I know, I know, I know, I know,
I know. I need help though.
I need your help, I need your help, okay?
I need you.
Okay, I need you to pull on this hand
as hard as you can.
- I can't, I can't.
- You can, you can, you can.
- I can't.
[Drew] When I say three,
you pull as hard as you can.
You can help me.
One, two, three.
(Grace screaming)
(Grace groaning)
Baby.
Get the bleeding stopped.
- Okay, okay, okay.
(Grace panting)
[Drew] You're all right.
You're okay.
Okay, okay, come on, come on, come on.
(Grace groaning)
- Fuck.
- I know, I know, I know.
[Grace] Drew, this hurts so bad.
[Drew] I'm sorry, I can't...
We can't stop.
(Grace panting)
Little further, little
further, little further.
Right here.
Go, go, go, go, go.
(Grace panting)
(Drew groaning)
Okay, okay, okay, okay.
Okay, you're okay.
Jake, what are you doing?
- Jake, get away from there.
[Drew] Jake, Jake.
[Jake] Where'd it go?
[Grace] Jake, get the
fuck away from there.
- Close the tent.
- Jake, stop.
(Drew shushing)
[Grace] Do you think it's gone?
[Drew] I don't know, I
don't know where it went.
(leaves rustling)
(creature roaring)
(Jake screaming)
Okay, okay, okay.
(creature roaring)
Okay.
(creature growling)
Fuck.
(tense music)
Drew, where'd it go?
I don't know.
[Grace] Where the fuck is it?
(Drew shushing)
I don't hear it, I don't hear it.
[Grace] I can't hear it.
Okay, come on.
Grace, we gotta get out of here.
(Grace crying)
(creature roaring)
(Grace screaming)
(Grace screaming)
[Drew] Grace.
Grace.
Grace, come on, Jake,
Jake, we gotta go, man.
Come on, Jake, we got to.
[Jake] I can't do this.
I can't, I can't.
- We gotta go.
We gotta go get...
Grace!
- Because if we go
after that thing, you
saw what it did to her.
No, no, no, no, hey, hey, hey, hey.
[Jake] It's gonna fucking get us too.
Jake, I know, I know, I know, I know.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.
Look, look at me, listen to me, listen.
Jake, listen.
Stop, Jake, listen to me, Jake.
Jake!
Get your shit together.
(dramatic music)
Let's go get your sister back.
Grace!
Come on, Jake, come on.
You gotta keep up, man, come on.
Jake, come on.
Babe?
Grace.
Grace.
Grace, please.
No, Jake, come on, come on.
Jake, I need your help
with this, all right?
Grace?
Jake, please just keep up.
Fuck.
[Jake] I can't keep up.
[Drew] What?
No, no, no, no.
No, buddy.
Come on.
Use the camera, come on.
[Jake] Can you just gimme a second?
Just a sec.
(creature roaring)
[Drew] Jake!
No!
(Drew whimpering)
Come on.
Come on, Grace.
Where are you?
Where are you?
Come on, Grace.
Come on, come on.
(Drew panting)
Grace?
Grace, Grace, Grace, Grace, Grace.
Grace.
(Drew whimpering)
No, no.
No, no, no.
Grace.
Jesus.
I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry Grace.
I don't know what to do, Grace.
Please, please, you
gotta tell me what to do.
(Drew sobbing)
(creature roaring)
Grace.
(somber music)
It's all your fault.
(Drew whimpering)
Oh, Grace.
I'm sorry, baby.
It's all my fault.
I did this.
(Drew sniffling)
My name is Drew Bennett.
I came out here with my...
My fiance, Grace Parker,
and her little brother Jake.
We came out here to,
we came here to talk to...
It's so fuckin' stupid.
(Drew inhaling deeply)
And we found this...
This thing.
We found this thing, and
it killed Jake Parker.
And then it...
then it,
then it killed Grace Parker.
It's all my fault.
(Drew sobbing)
(somber music)
So I'm gonna kill it.
(tense music)
(door clicking)
(door slamming)
[Shepherd] They never
should have come out here.
I tried to warn them
They should have listened.
They should have listened to me.
Oh No.
(dramatic music)
(Drew gasping)
(somber music)
