The Killing Cove (2025) Movie Script

[singer] You know
That I've been fighting for you
I know that you'll understand
Help me.
[woman] Stop. Wait. No!
[singer] I know that
you've been fighting too
Just know that's not the plan
You know that I've
been running from you
I know that you'll understand
I know that you've been fighting too
Just know that's not the plan
Oh, oh, oh, oh
I don't wanna be silenced
Because all I wanna do
Is go back in time
And take it all back
That's all I want to do
Go back in time
And take it all back
That's all... -Hey...
[singer] ...I wanna do
we're here for you.
We love you.
Okay, Dad.
[singers] Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
oh, oh, oh
[singer] Oh, please don't lose yourself
I won't let go
Until it's done
Oh, please don't lose yourself
I won't let go
Till it's gone
[car pulls over]
All right. We're here.
Welcome home, girls.
[birds chirping]
[Charles] Sarah.
Sarah.
Just give her some time.
I'll talk to her.
[sighs deeply]
You know he doesn't want us here, right?
-That is not true.
-Hmm.
We see him, what,
three times a year since the divorce
but now all of a sudden that Mom's passed,
he wanna play house, huh?
No. Of course not.
We all know everything is not fine.
But we're just trying to make the best
out of a crappy situation.
Look, we're gonna start
college in a few weeks.
And once that happens,
we'll both move to campus.
Kris, you underage.
You can't live on campus.
I'm 16. I'll ask Dad to
sign my permission waiver
and then I'll move in to the dorm with you.
I already looked into it.
Great. So my genius little sister
who could go to any school she want
is going to CCU with me?
You don't want me to come with you?
I didn't mean it like that, Kris.
Of course I want us to be together,
even if that means I
have to be the dumb one.
But you are the dumb one.
Girl.
[both laughing]
Look...
I know this is an adjustment
that neither of us were ready for.
One day Mom's making us breakfast
and then the next, we're moving halfway
across the country with Dad.
Nonetheless, we're here.
So let's just make the best
out of what we have. Okay?
Okay.
I'll try.
Promise?
I said I'll try.
Actually?
Okay. Okay.
-This is me trying.
-Really?
-Yeah, really.
-Okay.
This is so good, Brit.
I don't think I've ever had
lamb chops like this before.
Hmm, thank you.
It's a family recipe.
Maybe you could show us some time.
I would love to.
Since when are you interested in cooking?
Since always.
I mean, if you think about it,
cooking is the culinary
version of chemistry.
Hmm. Kiss ass.
[sighs]
-Is this you trying?
Sorry.
Oh, the lamb shops are fire.
So, girls, I think it goes without saying
that I'm very happy to have you here.
Um, I just hate that it has to
be under these circumstances.
It's no secret that
your mother and I had our disagreements.
But no matter what,
I will always cherish my time with her
because it gave me the two of you.
Not rehashing the old
divorce speech, are you?
[thuds]
Go ahead, Dad.
No. You're right.
You two aren't kids anymore.
And you should know
that your mother was not
the easiest person to get along with.
But I do know that she
loved you two very much
and that's all that
really matters in the end.
Her end, you mean.
Yes, her end.
Listen, I know this isn't ideal, right?
No one can ever replace your mother.
But she is gone now
and you two are still here.
And as your father, I just wanna try
to make this transition period
as easy as I possibly can for you.
You act like we going through
a baggage claim or something.
No, I'm just trying to
empathize with my daughters
who just suffered the
worst loss of their lives.
And I just want you to
know that I am here for you.
I mean, we both are.
[sighs]
So, have you girls given any consideration
to sitting out a semester or two?
I mean, don't get me wrong, Kristen.
I know that it is amazing
that you're starting college a year early,
just like your father did.
But you know, college
can be a little stressful.
And with everything that you both
have already...
-Uh-uh.
We can't do that.
Not after dear old Dad
went through all that
trouble to get me admitted.
You know, because I couldn't
get accepted anywhere else.
How embarrassing that
must have been for you.
-Sarah.
-[Charles] Yes. You know what,
you did let your grades
slip the last few years,
which complicated matters.
But, Sarah, we both know
that your grades have
nothing to do with your ability.
You just weren't applying yourself.
Or I'm too much like Mom, too much partying
and drinking to be concerned about grades,
-right?
-Come on, Sarah.
That's... you know that's not what I meant.
Maybe if I'm lucky,
I'll end up just like her,
and somebody will be scooping me up
-off the side of the road too.
-Sarah.
What? Why don't you all
just leave me the hell alone?
[Charles] Sarah.
She didn't mean it.
[slams door]
[Charles] I know, sweetie.
But like you said, she just...
She just needs some time.
And so do you.
[dramatic music]
[singer vocalizing]
[upbeat music]
[upbeat techno music playing over radio]
This is me.
Hey. I'm Sarah.
I guess we're gonna be roommates.
Yeah.
I'm Diana. I'll let you
go ahead and get settled.
Okay. She seem like she gonna be fun.
Maybe she'll open up
once you get to know her.
So where's my dorm room gonna be?
OMG.
This is my room?
Look, you could see the
infamous Crystal Cove
boathouse from here.
[Sarah] Well, ain't this some bull...
Sarah, look, the school gets
very few underage applicants,
so they're housed a few floors
up from the rest of the students
and generally don't have roommates.
Thank you so much for
signing my waiver, Dad.
No problem.
I trust that you'll stay
focused on your studies.
And it's only five minutes away
from Dad's lab.
Jealous?
Don't worry, Sarah.
You can crash here whenever you like.
-[gasps] Yay me.
-[Charles] Okay, come on.
Let's get the rest of your things
and we can stop by the lab.
I wanna introduce you girls to the staff.
[dramatic music]
[Beautiful Voice] Welcome
to Crystal Cove University
School of Biological Sciences,
where some of the
world's most leading minds
in the field of biological research
have come together to
guide us into the future,
led by Professor and Department Chair
on Molecular Biochemistry, Charles Donald,
the foremost expert...
-[Sarah] Geez, Dad.
Way to feed the ego.
No, see, that was not my idea.
The Dean wanted to create
-some recruitment video.
-Mm.
You couldn't have used
a more recent picture?
Hey. What's wrong with that picture?
That is a handsome young man up there.
Hey, everyone. Can I
get your attention, please?
I want you to meet my daughters.
And they just both just
started at CCU today.
Some of you may remember
my youngest daughter Kristen
from her visit last year.
She'll most likely be
joining us in the near future.
And this is my oldest, Sarah,
who hasn't been in Dad's
lab since, what, you were 10?
-Twelve.
-Right, 12. [Chuckles]
Well, girls, meet the RA crew.
-RA's, my girls.
-Hey.
Hey, guys. I went
through all of my dad's files
over the weekend and your
work with sodium thiosulphate
along with the introduction
of Hypericum per for at um
has been amazing.
What can I say? She's a fan.
[Sarah] [sighs] A lot has change.
[clears throat] Uh, hey.
I'm Wayne.
Hi, Wayne.
Uh, so you're the big guy's oldest, huh?
-Yup.
-Yeah.
Uh, you know, he brags
about you too, like, all the time.
Oh, no, that's probably my sister Kristen.
No, no. Yeah, you too.
You know, you're the,
um, you're the cheerleader.
Yeah, you and your team, you guys just won
like a national competition
or something like that.
Yeah. Yeah, sure.
Yeah. See, I know... I know some stuff.
Um, but I'm guessing you don't know much
about your father's research, do you?
No, that's Kristen's department.
Ah, I see, I see. That makes sense.
Uh, well, it is actually
quite brilliant, uh,
and we've had some amazing breakthroughs
with the St. John's wort.
Yeah. Uh, so what we found
is that some medications
like antibiotics, beta-blockers,
or even some birth control pills,
um, can alter, uh, serotonin
and dopamine levels within the brain.
And, well, your father,
he's figured out a way
to isolate and synthesize the...
I'm sorry, what?
Uh, sorry.
Uh, basically, he's figured out
how some meds can cause depression
and we've been working on
ways to counteract the impact
by adding small doses of
Hypericum per for at um,
uh, hence the St. John's wort.
Uh, the goal is to eventually completely
eliminate depression
as a medical side effect
so that the drugs can work better.
And it's actually been,
uh, working perfectly
on a couple of our test subject mice.
Okay, but aren't humans a
little more advanced than mice?
So how can you be sure it works
if you haven't had a human trial?
You know, that's a...
That's a fair point. [Chuckles]
Uh, well, we figured out how to isolate
and synthesize the, uh, altering
compound into liquid form.
So then we feed it to the mice
and then we monitor
their brainwave patterns.
And once we see the
mood level drop low enough,
we can slowly start to
introduce the St. John's wort
to test its effects.
Yeah. And then the same process
can then be used with humans.
Cool.
Yeah. Hey, yeah, I know
this can all seem pretty boring.
Uh, but hey, actually,
I was planning on going
to the quad for lunch.
Would you and your sister wanna join?
Sure. Kris!
Let's go grab lunch.
Okay.
[Kristen] Oh, Dad, do you want anything?
Uh, yeah, sure.
Can you pick me up a
chicken salad sandwich?
-[Kristen] Yeah.
-Thanks.
[Wayne] All right.
You guys are gonna
love this place, I promise.
Oh, just, uh, just watch
that for me. Thank you.
Okay.
[singer] Peace and
love, girl, you came home
Found someone you can lay low
[Jordan] Yo, over here!
Yo, Jordan.
Well, come in.
-What's good, bro?
-Yeah. Just chilling.
-What about you?
-I've been chilling.
Well, well, well. Who do we have here?
Um, these are Professor Donald's daughters.
We got Sarah and we also have Kristen.
-Hey, Kristen.
-[Kristen] Hi.
Jordan is my name.
Uh, Jordan is my best friend.
-Sometimes, you know, he's...
-[chuckles]
Nice to meet you, Jordan.
So what is this, take
your kids to school day?
[Wayne] [laughs] Actually, no.
Uh, they're actually
both enrolled here now.
-[Jordan] Both?
-Yeah.
You look like you should be in preschool.
I'm 16.
Oh. So the genius genes
run in the family, I see?
Pretty much.
I was hoping I'd see you again.
Were you?
Yeah. Jeff Clark.
Sarah Donald.
So you're the new girl
everyone is talking about.
[Jordan] Damn, Jeff. You
heard of personal space before?
This is Crystal Cove.
All space is my personal space.
You should know that by now.
No. [Laughs]
So your dad's the bio-chem professor, huh?
Yeah. And how'd you know?
You been asking about me?
[Jeff chuckles]
I guess you could say that.
-I love your hair.
-Thank you.
And you're the little sister?
Hi, I'm Kristen.
Ugh. Younger siblings,
don't they just get on your nerves?
-No.
-So you coming to our party?
What party?
At our frat.
You could even bring a
friend or two if you'd like.
Girl, ain't nothing to do in Crystal Cove.
Better take the opportunities
when they come.
Yeah, you'll have fun.
It's gonna be lit.
Isn't it a school night?
[laughter]
How cute. So you coming?
Yeah. Why not.
So we could come, too?
[Jeff] I said she could
bring some friends, didn't I?
I look forward to seeing you there.
[singer] ...be on the
walls, tell the story
All streets paved with faded glory
Broken windows, shattered goals
But the beat keeps healing souls
Baby, shine light...
Damn, Sarah.
First day on campus and
you already caught the eye
of the biggest fish in the pond.
-[Wayne] [chuckles] Yeah.
-[Chuckles]
So, what's his story?
You know, spoiled rich kid
who thinks he's God's
gift to women. [Laughs]
Pretty much, yeah.
Jeff's dad owns a big oil business.
I don't know what his major is,
but I know he's a
major deal to this school.
Well, that's kind of ironic
coming from the even more spoiled rich girl
whose parents are off sailing
somewhere in the Atlantic,
but, you know.
First off, he's an asshole.
-Oh.
-[Chuckles]
I'm a loving, friendly person.
[laughs]
[Jordan] Secondly,
my family might be rich,
but they're not Clark family rich.
Yeah. Well, in conclusion, yes,
Jeffery Clark is an asshole.
Yes, indeed, he is.
But, every high school kid
and college kid at Crystal Cove
would kill to be invited
to one of his parties.
So... we could come, right?
Oh, uh, we should, uh,
get something to eat.
-Yeah.
-[Sarah laughs]
[singer] The shadow over the sky
[insects chirping]
[singer] Pick up the
phone I'm all ready
Get you alone I'm all ready
-Hey.
-Hey.
So, can I come too?
Kris, you know Dad is not going for that.
Come on, Sarah. Please? Think about it.
How else am I gonna
build my own social circle
if I don't go out and meet people?
It's not like I can hang out
with kids my age around here.
I know, but I mean,
there's gonna be drinking,
smoking, and who knows what else.
Of course there is.
But that doesn't mean I'm gonna partake.
And I don't wanna stuck in...
[Sarah] Okay, okay.
But you're staying sober.
-We both are.
-Fine.
And we're only staying
for like a hour or two.
You know, it's a school night, remember?
Deal. Thank you.
And do you have something I can wear?
I'm regretting this already.
[upbeat music]
[crowd chatter]
[Kristen] So...
what do we do now?
-[Sarah] Mingle.
[man] It's not... it's not my house.
Oh, great. You made it.
[Sarah] Uh, keep an eye.
I'll be back in a second.
Uh, Sarah.
Jeff has been waiting for you all night.
[indistinct chatter]
I think that boy's in love.
He don't even know me like that.
Maybe it's love at first sight.
She bad. [Chuckles] I'll be back.
-No...
-Where are you going?
[Kristen] Wait, no...
[Wayne] Uh...
So, uh, you ever done
anything like this before or, uh...
No.
Have you?
Uh, yeah, no, no. No, not really.
I, uh, us lab techs aren't really known
for our wild side, so, uh...
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
[Athena] You considering pledging?
Um, I haven't really thought about it.
Well, you should. Kappa Theta Alpha.
I could totally get you in, no sweat.
-Want some?
-Uh, no.
I promised my sister
I'd stay sober tonight.
Hmm.
Sucks having to spend your
college years babysitting.
Well, I don't really see it like that.
[chuckles]
Hey! Look who I found!
[Jeff] Oh, it's about time.
[chuckles] Hey, grab her a drink, will you?
I've been waiting on you all night.
Have you?
Hey, listen up.
I want everybody to stop
whatever you're doing
and meet my new girl, okay?
This is Sarah.
[Sarah] Hey, what's up, everybody?
Um, I'm new here
and, um, not his girl.
[laughter] -But the night's still young.
Hmm.
[Jeff] So how you've been?
-[Sarah] Good.
-[Jeff] You look good, right?
-[Sarah chuckles] Thank you.
[Jeff] Nice jacket.
[Sarah laughs]
Uh, no. I promised.
Promises are meant to the broken.
Live a little. You're only in college once.
Come on. Don't babysit.
Drink up. I'm trying to dance.
[scoffs]
There you go.
Follow me.
[slow upbeat music]
[singer] Baby trying to
tell us she a big move
She walked on us a big move
Showed a big time
Only thing little is her waistline
Flat line when she make her body move
She an animal, that's a big move
That's a... that's a big move,
shawty making big moves
She took bougie for the
club, that's a big move
Everybody showing

Only trying to hit it

She walked on, that's a big move
Showed a big time
Only thing little is her waistline
Flat line when she make her body move
She an animal, that's a big move
That's a... that's a big move,
shawty making big moves
She took bougie for the
club, that's a big move
Everybody showing
love, that's a big move
That's a big move, that's a big move
[upbeat music slowing down]
[singer] She walked
on, that's a big move
Showed a big time
Only thing little is her waistline
Flat line when she make her body move
She an animal, that's a big move
That's a... that's a big move,
shawty making big moves
She took bougie for the
club, that's a big move
Everybody showing
love, that's a big move
That's a big move, that's a big move
[laughter]
Looks like somebody needs to lie down.
Need to lie down.
Come on. It's this way.
One, two. Yeah, yeah.
Look, watch your step, watch your step.
-There goes one.
-Sarah?
One, two, three...
Are you okay?
-[Jeff] Whoa.
Hold on, little sis. I got her.
All right? Don't worry.
She just had one too many.
Look. Why don't you go grab
yourself something to drink?
Nobody's gonna stop you.
-I'm okay. Oh!
-Come on, Sarah.
Yeah, one, two. Yeah, there you go.
You got it. We're almost there, all right?
Keep going, keep going. Good girl.
Look, you need to stay up, got me, baby?
-Yeah.
-Hey. Watch out, bro.
Hey. Come on.
Yeah. No, no, right here.
Oh. Oh.
I'm the master. You'll do what I say.
Oh. Come on, it's okay.
I got you, I got you.
Look. You're doing good, all right?
-Here. Hmm.
-[Sarah groans]
-You're here for this.
-[Sarah groans]
No, it's okay, it's okay. Look.
I got you, okay?
[groans]
[upbeat music]
Yo, Kristen.
Hey. Whoa, whoa, whoa.
What's going on?
Where's your sister?
Where's Sarah?
She's with Jeff.
[suspenseful music]
She seemed drunk,
but she couldn't have been
because we made a promise.
They went upstairs.
Wait, wait, wait.
You said your sister was drunk,
with Jeff?
Yes.
[suspenseful music]
[Kristen] She could barely stand up.
Okay. All right. Come on.
Come on. We gotta go.
[Kristen] Sarah?
-[Wayne] Sarah?
-[Kristen] Sarah.
-[Wayne] Sarah.
Sarah. Hey!
-[Kristen] Sarah.
-[knocking on door]
-Sarah, are you in there?
Jordan, Jordan. Have you seen Sarah?
I think she went that way.
-Watch out, come on.
-I'll be back.
Sarah!
Sarah, are you in there?
[knocking on door]
Sarah!
Go away!
Open the door. We're gonna call the police.
[knocking on door]
[Jeff] Fuck.
What? Can't you see we're busy?
Sarah!
Hey, Sarah, can you hear me?
What did you do to my sister?
She's fine. She just needs to sleep it off.
For real, is that what
y'all were trying to do?
You're just trying to sleep it off?
Man. Shut up, Wayne.
[Wayne] No, you shut up.
Who do you think you are?
-Relax.
-[Kristen] Hey,
just help me get her out of here.
[suspenseful music]
[Wayne] Come on, Sarah. I
got you. I got you. I got you.
-Come on, Sarah. Come on.
-[Jordan] Come on, come on.
Come on.
[Wayne] Okay. Yup.
[indistinct chatter]
[dramatic music]
[suspenseful music]
[dark voice] Sarah.
[woman screams]
[panting]
Oh, God.
[birds chirping]
Hey, are you sure you're okay?
Yeah. Um, I guess I'm just
still processing everything.
That's all.
That's understandable.
-What an asshole.
-Uh-uh.
Watch it, potty-mouth.
You don't wanna end up sounding like me.
I'm just glad we got you
out of there when we did.
Yeah, me too.
I mean, can you imagine
what Mom would do to...
[knocks on door aggressively]
What's poppin', Donald sisters?
What do you want?
[Athena] To talk to your sister.
I came to your room first.
Your roommate told me
you're probably up here.
I can't believe they've
paired you with Diana Long.
Small world.
Oh, wow. You can see
the boathouse from here.
Okay. You found me, Athena.
So, what you want?
I was just coming to check on you
and see how you were doing, damn.
You left pretty wasted last night.
We were all worried
about you, especially Jeff.
I wasn't wasted, Athena. I had one beer.
Well, it was Scottish beer in the keg.
I hear it's like 65% proof.
So, it is possible that
one drink could do it,
especially if you chugged it too fast.
I guess maybe you're just
more of a lightweight than you thought.
Or somebody put something in her drink.
Be careful hurling out
harmful accusations like that.
This is a small town
and you wouldn't wanna
ruffle the wrong feathers.
Well, maybe those are the feathers
that need to get plucked.
[chuckles] Whoa!
Look at you.
Big talk from the new
girl from the big city.
Well, you're gonna find
out pretty quickly that things
go a little different around here, sweetie.
Sweetie? Bitch, I will drag
-your ass off.
-Sarah.
No fighting.
I didn't come to fight, Sarah.
I was genuinely checking
on you out of concern.
But I can see that you're doing just fine,
so I'll be on my way.
You do that.
If I were you, I would keep those
intrusive accusations to myself.
You wouldn't want the
Clarks to catch wind of you
saying things like that.
Trust me.
Sarah, we need to talk to Dad.
[laughter]
[Charles] Wait. Are you saying that boy...
No, Dad.
Luckily, it didn't get that far.
Wayne, Jordan, and
Kristen were at the door.
But it could've, Dad.
Sweetie, I am so sorry that this happened.
After everything else,
this is the last thing
you should have to deal with.
So, what are we gonna do?
That girl wasn't lying.
The Clarks are very powerful people
with a lot of influence in this town.
So, first things first,
I'm gonna have a
conversation with The Dean.
We cannot let that boy get away with this.
So, come on. You're coming with me.
[dramatic music]
[laughter]
[indistinct chatter]
[door opens]
He's gonna open up an investigation.
They're gonna bring in
the police to file a report
and ask you girls some questions.
Now, this probably will get a little messy.
The Clarks have deep pockets and lawyers.
But no matter what,
I want you to know that I've
got your back and support you,
and we're gonna see this
through together as a family.
-Thanks, Dad.
-[Charles] Yeah.
Come here.
I love you two.
Come on in.
[dramatic music]
[singer] That's how
I can steal the moon
This is the craziest I've seen
CCU campus has been in a while.
Great. I'm glad to know I'm the one
that kicked off the festivities.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. I
didn't mean it like that.
-My bad.
-It's okay.
[Kristen] You said in a while.
When's the last time
something like this happened?
Well, your sister wasn't
the only one Jeff has tried.
Two years ago, he invited
another girl to a party
and rumor is,
she didn't have her sister
there to break down the door.
Oh, my gosh.
What happened to her?
[Jordan] From what I've heard,
Clarks lawyered up,
paid the girl off,
and the girl retracted her whole statement.
They made a huge donation to the school
and after a while, everyone just moved on.
Why?
How did everyone just forget what Jeff did?
Because honestly,
we all wanted it to be a lie.
He's like head honcho
around here, the elite.
He's known for throwing
the sickest parties.
If they put up Jeff Clark,
there goes partying at Crystal Cove.
And we all just wanna have a fun time.
Did she drop out?
[Jordan] No, she didn't drop out.
I see her around sometimes.
She still goes here.
You should try talking to her.
Her name is Diana Long.
What?
[crickets chirping]
Okay. All right.
Done for the day.
Okay.
[sighs]
-Oh, shit.
-[Jeff] Uh...
-Thanks. Thanks.
-What the hell is this?
Uh, liquidized corticosteroids.
[chuckles] What?
Uh, just something we're workin' on.
Do you mind buzzing me in real quick?
-Come on, Jeff. Cut...
-[chuckles]
Stop... cut it out, man.
What do you even need to get
into the science lab for anyway?
My father would like a
word with Professor Donald.
He's not in there.
He packed it up for the night.
[Jeff] Right. Sure he did.
So, uh, what'd you tell the cops, Wayne?
You have a nice night, Jeff.
Yeah, you too.
[crickets chirping]
[suspenseful music]
[man] Look out.
[laughter]
[suspenseful music]
Hello?
[suspenseful music]
[Diana coughing]
[suspenseful music]
[indistinct chatter]
[knocks on door]
-[Sarah sighs]
[Det. Richards] Ms. Donald?
Yes. Uh, is this about my case?
No, ma'am. Um...
I understand Diana Long was your roommate?
Was?
I can't believe this.
Let's just go.
I wanna talk to the administration
about changing rooms.
[Jordan] Wait, wait, hold up.
Oh, my gosh.
I just heard what happened with Diana.
Are you okay?
Still processing it.
This is all so sad, but...
I don't think anyone's really surprised.
That girl hasn't been the
same since the incident.
Did you ever get the chance
to talk to her before she...
[Sarah] No.
Um...
I was waiting till she got
back from swimming practice.
Convenient, isn't it?
What do mean?
-[Jordan] You know,
your sister has her
case going on with Jeff.
Diana had one with him too.
As soon as she goes to ask her about it,
the girl kills herself.
That's weird.
You mean you don't suppose
he had something to do with it, do you?
Can we just stop talking
about this, please?
[phone ringing]
Hello?
Okay. Yeah. Sure.
Who's that?
-The Dean wants to meet with me.
-Oh.
Do you want me to come with you?
No, I'll just catch up with y'all later.
Oh, okay. Bye.
[dramatic music]
[Lorie] You're siding with
that professor's daughter
over my son?
Have you lost your damn mind?
Are you telling me you value his research
over the millions my family
has given to this school?
His research could bring in billions.
Well, we see where your loyalties lie.
You'll be hearing from our lawyers.
You're her, aren't you?
You're the girl that's trying
to ruin my poor boy's life.
Mrs. Clark, this is highly inappropriate.
"What's good for the goose," little girl?
Remember that.
[The Dean] I'm sorry about this, Sarah.
I didn't know she was coming.
She bursting here like she own...
Never mind.
Please come in.
Have a seat.
That's Jeff's mother?
[The Dean] Yes.
She's upset because I
informed him and his family
that he's on disciplinary suspension,
effective immediately.
And that's why I called
you to inform you as well.
Thank you.
But after what he did to me,
he should be expelled and prosecuted.
Anything is possible.
I'm sorry about your roommate.
If you need to take a
break or even a sabbatical,
we fully understand.
No, but, um, I would like
to change rooms if I could.
[The Dean] Of course.
Our female dorms are completely full,
but I'll see what I can do.
I got you, Sarah.
I got you.
[indistinct chatter]
Did you hear that they
suspended Jeff over this BS?
They're considering taking away
his scholarship and everything.
Yeah, I hear he's taking it pretty hard.
He is. Poor thing.
-Rick and I feel so bad for him.
-[friend] I know.
I told him so many times
he has to protect himself.
He's a wealthy and attractive guy.
These hoes will do whatever
they can to tear him down.
Hello.
Good thing he left the
country this morning.
I would hate for these bitches to think
they could keep playing with him.
[dramatic music]
[Jordan] Yup.
Another Alpha Sigma party RSVP.
Yeah, must be trying to save face.
I mean, can you believe this?
They would do this, like,
after what happened to Sarah?
I mean...
Sarah, wait up.
Oh, hey.
Are you okay?
-[Sarah] I'm fine.
I just didn't realize
I had statistics with Athena.
What that tramp do now?
Nothing. Just being
her usual charming self.
[Jordan chuckles]
I just really need that lecture
for next week's test.
[sighs]
I just couldn't be in there with her
for another second.
Uh, yeah.
But what do you got going on tonight?
Um, Kristen and I are driving
to my dad's for the weekend.
-Why?
-Well, I was just thinking that,
um, well, I-I've had that professor before
and I'm pretty sure I still
have some of my old notes.
So I mean, you know, maybe I could...
you know, if you want,
maybe I could come over
and help you study.
Oh.
Yeah, I would appreciate that.
Yeah.
Um, you know where my dad lives?
Uh, yeah, yeah.
Uh, yeah, I've been there
once or twice, you know.
Uh, yeah.
Okay. So meet me around 7:00?
Yes, 7:00, 7:00 sounds good.
Sure.
I'll see you later, Jordan.
Look who decided to grow a pair.
[chuckles] Help her study?
Classic.
I mean, no, come on, bro.
Like, I-I'm serious. I'm serious.
I'm really gonna, you
know, just help her study.
I'm really just going
there to help her out.
So if one thing leads to another,
that's just happenstance?
[chuckles]
-I mean, come on.
Like, I wouldn't... I wouldn't do that.
Like, especially in, you know,
Professor Donald's home.
I mean, I'm-I'm a gentleman, you know?
-Right. Yeah.
-[Wayne] Yeah.
[Rick] What happened?
What?
What is that?
Well, that's fucking weird.
[suspenseful music]
[phone dings]
[indistinct chatter]
Hey.
What the hell do you
boys think you're doing?
Get off my car.
We didn't realize this was your ride.
My friend Joshua here has one just like it.
Honest mistake.
You folks have a nice day, okay?
[Kristen] Dad.
"Drop the case."
Wait here.
Hey.
What the hell is this? Is this from you?
No, it wasn't us. Honest.
It was already there.
We're not even throwing
a party this weekend.
-Then who left it?
-I don't know, professor.
Maybe you and your daughter are pissing off
more people than you think.
Get out of here.
Bye, Sarah.
[laughter]
Get in the car.
Now.
What the hell?
Uh, can I have a glass of wine?
-Uh, no.
-[Kristen] Ding dong.
-Oh.
-[Kristen] I'll get it.
-You are not 21.
-Not at all.
Drink that cranberry juice.
[Kristen] Wayne.
[Wayne] Kristen.
[Kristen] Guys, look who came to join us.
-Oh.
-Wayne.
I don't remember
scheduling a pick-up tonight.
Uh, no, sir.
Uh, well, actually, I'm just here to, uh...
He's here to "study" with Sarah.
-Yes.
-Oh, really?
"Study."
Would y'all grow up, okay?
He offered to come over and help me study
after I had to leave class
early because of Athena.
Oh.
[suspenseful music]
[singer] Oh, oh
Spend a check, got to make it back
Pocket full like a hundred racks
Money grown, I make it flip
Cold-blooded nine on my hip
They don't want no smoke
No, no
They don't want no smoke
No, no
Whoa, whoa, whoa
[coughing]
Call Wayne.
[phone buzzing]
Oh, uh, I think that's me.
Oh.
Uh...
oh, it's just Jordan.
I will... I'll call her back, uh, later.
All right, well, let's go.
Good seeing you guys.
-Yeah, Wayne.
-All righty.
[Wayne] Hi. You've reached Wayne Sanders.
I'm not able to come to the phone right now
because I'm probably doing
something extremely convoluted.
Please leave your name, number,
and leave a message,
and I'll call you right back.
-Bye.
-[Tires screeching]
[coughs] Help.
Help me.
Help. [Coughs]
[tires screeching]
[Jordan] Help.
[screaming]
Now, Professor Staykov
may come off as hard,
but she's actually really
sweet once you get to know her.
Yeah, well, judging by those lectures,
she plays that role very well.
[chuckles]
Uh, so, um,
your sister seems pretty
close with your dad.
Were you, uh, closer with your mom?
Um, yeah.
I took after my mom more than Kris.
My mom could be a bit hard at times,
but she generally meant well.
Uh-huh. Yeah.
Um, so how old were you
when, you know, she
and your dad got divorced?
That's a little personal, don't you think?
Uh, yeah, yeah. No, you're right.
I'm sorry.
I-I didn't mean to offend
you or anything like that.
You don't have to
answer that if you're not...
No, you know what? It's-it's okay.
Um...
I was 13 and Kris was 11
when my dad took the job
here at the university.
I always blamed him for leaving,
but I know my mom didn't
make it easy for him to stay.
The messed up part is
this whole thing with Jeff.
This just made us closer.
Well, tragedy and trauma
tends to have that effect.
Make or break, you know?
Yeah. Exactly.
You know, um, you're
pretty easy to talk to.
Well, you know, being a science major
tends to build your observation
and comprehension of skill sets, so...
and plus...
you're pretty easy to listen to.
[phone buzzing]
-Uh, ooh.
Uh, man, sorry. Uh, Jordan had called me.
I completely forgot.
[Jordan coughing]
-Wayne.
-Oh, my God.
Wait, what is it?
-[Jordan] Wayne.
[coughing]
Help.
[tires screeching]
[Jordan screams]
[Sarah gasps]
Oh, Jordan.
Oh, Jordan.
Thank you for doing this.
I understand Jordan's
family is currently out of state.
Um, yeah.
Yeah, they're trying to get
here as quickly as they could,
but they're, um, they're sailing some...
from somewhere in the Bahamas, I think.
Was Jordan acquaintances with Diana Long?
Uh, no. No, not really. Why?
You think the two deaths could be related?
No. No, not necessarily.
And perhaps this is all
just strange coincidence,
but it's been years since we
got a suicide in Crystal Cove.
And now, we've potentially
have two within the same week.
Um, I think there's
something you should hear.
[Jordan coughs]
Wayne.
Wayne.
Help.
[coughs]
-[tires screeching]
[Jordan screams]
Okay. So what are you trying to tell me?
I mean, I'm trying to tell
you that I don't think Jordan
would have purposefully
done this to herself.
I mean, she even says
"help," for God's sakes.
So you think Jordan Cohe was murdered?
-Yes.
-Yes.
-By who?
-Jeffery Clark.
You think Jeffery Clark was
involved in Jordan's accident?
Yes, and Diana Long's.
Why? What would be his motive?
To shut us up.
Diana had a case against him years ago.
Yes, which was settled outside of court.
[Sarah] Okay.
And Jordan was there
the night he assaulted me.
Okay. That's a bit of a stretch.
The house was filled with students.
Okay. Well, if it wasn't him,
then it was one of his
lackeys like Rick Smith.
Ms. Donald, we know for a fact
that all of Diana Long's injuries
were self-inflicted.
And as for Jordan Cohe,
I walked that crash site myself.
There were no signs of foul play
and there were no tire marks on that road.
Which generally indicates that the driver
didn't hit their brakes,
which means intention.
And there were no signs of someone else
being in that car with her.
So you do believe she committed suicide?
I'm not prepared to say
that conclusively at this time.
We're still waiting to
get a toxicology report
and mechanical analysis to figure out
if there was any extenuating circumstances
or vehicular malfunction.
But what I can tell you
is that no one ran her
off the road last night.
Now you two have undoubtedly
been through a lot of stress.
Why don't you go get some rest
and leave this matter to us, okay?
[dramatic music]
[woman over PA] 12347.12347.
[sighs heavily]
Man, this is... this is some bullshit!
I'm sorry they didn't listen to you.
Come here.
So, what are you thinking?
I mean, it's weak.
I think those kids can be onto something.
I mean, there's more to these deaths
than meets the eye.
It is possible that
Jeffery Clark intimidated
our two victims, somehow.
But does intimidation equate to homicide?
I mean, there's only one way to find out.
Come on. You're riding with me.
All right.
You know, I've known
Jordan since we were 15.
And I promise you she would never
purposefully do this to herself.
You know what I think? I think the cops
are probably just in the
pockets of the Clarks,
just like everybody else in this city.
Maybe that's it. Maybe we just have to get
something so big on Jeff
that they have to investigate.
Yeah, yeah. I mean... I mean, you can't get
as rich and powerful as the Clarks
without at least having
some skeletons in the closet.
Uh, but first, I have
to get back into contact
-with Jordan's parents.
-Yeah, of course.
Relatives.
Maybe that's it. Relatives.
Diana, I mean, she was isolated
from everybody on campus, right?
But it has to be somebody she was close to,
somebody she confided in.
I mean, somebody who
knows exactly what Jeff
and his family did to her.
Yeah, yeah. And then maybe
they could shed a bit more light
on exactly what we're dealing with here.
Yeah. Let's hope so. Come on.
[sirens wailing]
[Det. Richards] You can tell
us where we can find your son.
[Lorie] What do you
wanna know about my son?
[Det. Richards] We just like
to get a statement from him
regarding the death of another CCU student,
-Jordan Cohe.
-I assure you,
my son had nothing to do with it.
Well, we would like to hear that from him.
Well, then I hope you
have your passport ready,
because you'll have to catch
the next flight to Amsterdam.
Your son is the center of
an assault investigation.
He should not have left
the country, Mrs. Clark.
By my understanding,
he wasn't under arrest,
so he's free to do as he wants.
Good day, Mrs. Clark.
[Lorie] Good day.
Oh, please let your captain know.
I look forward to seeing
him at this year's fundraiser.
Let's try talking to Timothy Smith
and Athena Bella again.
Maybe we can get something out of them.
[suspenseful music]
[Sarah] [sighs] So, basically, Dad,
they told us there's nothing they can do.
It just seems a little
hard to believe, sweetie.
Look, don't get me wrong.
I know that Jordan was
your friend and I wanna take
the Clarks down as much as you do.
-But murder?
-Yes, Dad.
Look, I don't know how
but I know Jeffery Clark
has something to do with it.
I mean, Jordan is just not the kind of girl
that would do something
like that to herself.
There really isn't a specific
type with this, honey.
I mean, people are really good at hiding
what they're going through.
Yeah, but Sarah's right, Dad.
Jordan was very
vivacious and high-spirited.
She wasn't the type
to take life for granted.
I'm telling you, they did something.
They threatened her.
It's something just like
they tried to do to us.
What? What is she talking about?
It's nothing, sweetie.
It's not a big deal.
It was just some jock trying to show off,
but I handled it.
Well...
they left this...
on Dad's car today.
-Drop the case?
-Telling us to drop the case
is not just showing off, Dad.
It's intimidation.
Charles, I don't like this.
This is definitely intimidation.
I think we should just
consider that...
-No, look, we're not
dropping the case, okay?
The Clarks can't continue to get away
with stuff like this.
What about the next girl this happens to?
I don't care about the next girl.
I'm worried about the two
that are sitting right here,
and they have been through a lot.
Okay. How about this?
I will take this down to the police station
and talk to the detective.
Let's hear what he has to say.
If he thinks there's a
link, they'll pursue it.
Okay.
Okay.
You said this was left on your car?
Yes.
When?
The day of the Jordan Cohe accident.
Could this be connected to everything?
I can't say for sure, but this is not
the first flyer we found.
Really? So should we be worried?
Honestly, I don't really know just yet.
Have you seen this flyer before?
Yeah. I, uh, saw a few of them on campus,
but those are not ours.
We didn't even have a party that night.
So I suppose you didn't write
this message on the back, right?
Nope.
What do you think it means?
"Drop the case."
-[Rick] I don't know.
Maybe it's a message to Sarah Donald
to drop her case against Jeff Clark.
I mean, it's not rocket science.
-Why do you say that?
-I saw one just like it
on, uh, Professor Donald's car.
That specific flyer was
located in Jordan Cohe's car
-the night of her accident.
-Look, man,
that ain't got nothing to do with me.
I don't know who printed those out.
I told you, we weren't
even planning a party
-for that night.
-Did Jeffery Clark ask you
and your frat brothers
to pressure Sarah Donald
-into dropping her case?
-No.
What about Diana Long? Did
you pressure or harass her?
Oh, my God. This is getting crazy.
Look, bro,
I don't know what you're getting at
but I didn't do anything.
I'm not saying you did.
I'm simply asking if
Jeff, your frat brother,
might have asked you for some help.
Do I need to call my lawyer?
I don't know, do you?
Fuck.
[suspenseful music]
[car door beeps]
[phone chimes]
[knock on door]
[Sarah] Yeah?
Hey. Can I come in?
Uh-hmm.
What's up? I thought
you was in bed already.
Well, I wasn't tired.
And I wanted to come check on you.
What are you doing?
I'm just looking for
Diana's friends and family.
Did you find anything?
She don't really have any
recent posts on social media.
Maybe something.
Her sister maybe?
Well, why are you stalking her?
[sighs] Wayne and I
just thought it might give
some insight into whatever was going on
between her and Jeff.
I mean, if he threatened her or something.
Sarah, considering what
you said at the dinner table
and what they left on Dad's car
and then what happened to Jordan and Diana,
maybe Brittany was right.
Maybe we should just let all of this go.
What? Why?
Because if what you're saying is true
and Jeff was responsible for their murders,
then this is dangerous for us.
I'm scared.
I lost Mom, and I don't wanna lose you too.
Kris, that's not gonna happen.
I'm not going anywhere.
Look, if Mom was here,
she will want me to take Jeff down.
She raised us not to take shit from nobody.
Okay. Fine.
What do you need help with?
I need you to put that big brain to work
and find me Beautiful-disaster92.
I can do that.
[Rick] You know, bro, I can do it.
You literally still...
-I say don't do it.
-Bro. I say don't do it.
-Yeah.
-I say do it.
-Hey. Hey, come on, bro.
-Give us your keys.
-Don't do it.
I'm telling you, I'm good.
-You sure?
-Guys, come on.
All y'all have seen me way
more wasted than this before
and I made it home
just fine. I'm telling you.
-I'm good. Trust me.
-Fine by me. He did that...
Plus, I got some old coffee
in my car from earlier, so...
Hey, I'll meet you
pussies back at the house.
[friend 1] All right. He's fine. He's fine.
Let him do his thing, yo.
Let's roll. Let's roll.
[friend 2] Roll down the windows. It's hot.
[car engine revs]
[friend 2] Get in your car, fool.
-[friend 1] What are you doing?
-Chill.
-[car horn honks]
-[friend 2] Get in the car.
-[friend 3] Get home safe, bro.
-Later.
[gas hissing]
-[Rick] Oh, God.
[coughing]
[suspenseful music]
[truck horn honks]
[phone ringing]
[man 1] Hey, Facebook
Joe, you won't believe it.
Just from this title, I know this video
is gonna be all over the place.
-Coming up...
-[man 2] Being a celebrity
requires you to change your body.
-I kinda been working...
-[man 3]...and for a lot
employed...
-[man 4] Kanye West...
[upbeat music]
[singer] Everybody claims
they're a superwoman
Woo
Everybody claims they're a superwoman
[sighs]
Time to get beautiful, bitch.
Well, beautiful-er. [Giggles]
[gas hissing]
-[coughing]
[suspenseful music]
[indistinct chatter]
[coughing]
Ooh. Girl, rough night?
[coughs] Help me.
Athena. Athena, are you okay? Athena.
Athena, where are you going?
Athena, what's going on? Are
you and Rick fighting again?
That's the garage, sis.
We don't mess with things in there.
[Athena coughs]
[suspenseful music]
Athena, that's gas.
Athena!
Athena, what are you doing? Open the door.
[screaming]
Oh, my God!
Hey!
[chuckles]
-Yeah, you scared me.
-Sorry.
Uh, it's okay. No, it only took me
like three hours to
set that whole thing up.
But, um... but what's up?
We found her.
Elaboration.
Diana's sister. She lives 45 minutes away.
So you up for a road trip?
-Yeah. Sure. Why not?
-Good,
-'cause you driving.
-For real?
[upbeat music]
So what's Diana's sister's name?
Tabitha.
Apparently, she owns
some kind of flower shop
or something just north of here.
I'm really just hoping she
has some answers for us.
Yeah. Fingers crossed.
Yeah.
[bell chimes]
Excuse me. Uh, we're
looking for Tabitha Long.
Hi. I'm Tabitha.
[Sarah] Hi. Um, I'm Sarah Donald.
I was roommates with your sister, Diana.
Oh, yeah. Hi.
-I'm glad to meet you.
-It's good to meet you too.
-Uh, this is Wayne Sanders.
-Hey, how you doing?
Uh, we're very sorry for your loss.
Yeah. Thank you.
It's been really hard, you know?
Diana was such an amazing person.
We're still planning
the details of her funeral,
but if you wanna leave your number,
I can call you with the information.
-Please do.
-[Tabitha] Yeah.
Um...
I, um, actually wanted to
ask you a few questions
about Diana's dealing
with Jeffery Clark and his family.
What?
Um, we know that there was some kind
of incident between Jeffery and Diana.
Wait. How do you know my... wait.
Who are you again and
how did you know my sister?
I was her roommate for a short time
at Crystal Cove.
She never mentioned you to me.
We weren't exactly close.
[Tabitha] Right.
So how did you find me?
And how do I know that
the Clarks didn't send you?
They've sent their spies and PIs before.
Because I was assaulted
by Jeffery Clark too.
And we believe he might
have something to do
with Diana's death
and our friend, Jordan's.
You two need to leave.
Please, I didn't mean to offend you.
You need to get out of my store
-and never contact me again.
-Look, I just wanna know,
did they harass...
-I said get out
-before I call the police!
-[Wayne] Okay. Okay.
Hey, hey. We're going.
-[Tabitha] Now!
-Yeah. No, we got you.
Uh, sorry for bothering you.
Well, that couldn't have went worse.
[tense music]
[machine beeping]
[tense music]
We have a problem.
[Wayne] Oh, shoot. Going around the back.
Uh, hey.
I'm sorry again that things
didn't go as we hoped,
but I mean, I think if we look
on the bright side...
-What bright side?
She kicked us out of her shop and told us
to never contact her again.
She was our last hope
at finding out the truth.
Right. But I mean, the fact that she had
such an emotional response
to what we had to say,
I mean, I think it means
that we're on the right track
or headed in the right direction.
-Okay, Mr. Glass-Half-Full.
-[Wayne chuckles]
But thank you for coming with me though.
Yeah. Of course. No.
I'm glad I was there.
[romantic music]
[clears throat] -Oh, Professor Donald.
I... we were just, um...
-I was just...
-Um, Wayne
was just bringing me home.
Hey, hey. Look, it's none of my business.
You two are young adults.
I just need you to move your car, Wayne.
-Where are you going?
-I need to run to the office,
there seems to be some
issue with our inventory.
I mean, I could tag along if you want.
I mean, maybe, just helping...
-Oh, no.
I think you should probably
go home, young man,
and treat yourself to a nice cold shower.
[laughs] Look, the timing, right?
I'm sorry about that.
-Yeah. It's all right.
-So I'll see you tomorrow?
Yeah, yeah. I like that.
-Tomorrow.
-Okay.
Hey, Wayne. Car.
You're right. You're right.
You're right, Professor. I got you.
Yup. Mr. D.
Okay. Well, I'll see you... I'll...
I'm okay. I'm okay.
[crickets chirping]
[suspenseful music]
[phone chimes]
[suspenseful music]
Seems to be...
Yeah.
[crickets chirping]
[suspenseful music]
[beeps]
[suspenseful music]
What are you... stop!
[gasps] Stop!
[coughing]
[suspenseful music]
[suspenseful music]
-Kris. Kris.
-[Kristen] What?
Kris, get up!
We gotta go. Somebody's in the house.
-What?
-Come on!
-Wait. Wait.
-What?
-What about Brittany?
-Damn.
Look, okay.
Um, you go to the
neighbor's and call the police
and I'll go check on Brittany.
[Kristen] No. I'm coming with you.
-You can't.
-Why?
Look, you're the smart one, right?
So I need you to go to the
neighbor's and call the police.
[Kristen] Okay, but hurry up.
[sighs deeply] All right.
[suspenseful music]
Brittany?
Brittany?
Brittany?
Brittany?
You here?
[suspenseful music]
Help me!
Brittany!
Please, come on!
Come on! Brittany, please!
Please, somebody help me!
Help me! Brittany!
Brittany, come on!
Please! Somebody help me!
Please! No! No! What are you doing?
[thuds]
No, no.
Please, Brittany. Brittany, please.
Oh, my God. Please, please, please.
Wake up. Wake up. Please, please.
[siren wailing]
[Charles] Have you found anything?
No, nothing yet. But I
have every available unit
searching the town for your sister
and we also put out a
BOLO for Jeffery Clark.
[sighs deeply]
-And there's this.
What is this?
Assailant is smart.
It's a Wi-Fi signal disruptor.
Thieves use it to block your Wi-Fi router
from linking with their security cameras,
so there's no footage
of anyone breaking in.
Son of a bitch.
Hey, hey. Oh, my God.
Sarah. I got here as quickly as I could.
Is there any update on Kristen yet?
No. They still haven't found her.
Damn, I should have been there.
Oh, Dad, this is not your fault.
I mean, this is the Clarks.
Allegedly.
Right now, there's still no proof
that Jeffery Clark had anything to do...
You can't be serious.
Mr. Donald?
-[Charles] Yeah.
How's my wife?
Mrs. Donald was touch
and go there for a minute,
but we got her stabilized.
She has a skull fracture
and three broken ribs.
[phone chimes]
What's going on?
Oh, my God.
Sarah, we have to tell...
-Shh.
He said no cops.
Okay. So what are you gonna do?
I'm going.
-You're going?
-Yes.
Sarah, this is obviously a trap.
I don't care.
He wants me, not Kristen.
And I can't let him hurt her because of me.
Look, I don't have time to
go back and forth with you.
Can you please just give me your keys?
Okay, no.
-What?
-Because I'm going with you.
No. Wayne...
-Yeah, yeah.
No, it's just like you said.
We have... we have no time already.
So, come on. What I say, we just...
we talk about it in the car.
Come on.
Your wife is still heavily sedated,
but if you would like,
you can come see her.
Yeah, of course.
Sarah?
Um, let's go.
[suspenseful music]
Okay. Okay, okay. This is bad, okay?
I mean, who knows what kind of trap
Jeff could have us running into?
I'm beginning to think
it's not just him, though.
I mean, how could he
have done all that alone?
Well, I mean, we know
that it wasn't Rick or Athena
helping him out, so...
What? How you know that?
What... wait, what? You didn't hear?
Yeah, they died this morning.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my gosh. Should we be worried?
No, no, okay?
I won't let anything happen
to you or Kristen, okay?
I promise.
I just need you to drive.
I need to get to Kristen
and make sure she's safe.
Okay, okay, okay.
Look, here's what I'm thinking, okay?
Since we know that he
wants you there alone,
I'll call the cops and come in after you,
and then we'll catch him by surprise.
[sighs heavily]
Okay.
Okay.
We're here, we're
here. I'm gonna pull over.
[tire screeches]
Okay.
Oh! Uh, hold on.
Here, use this.
What the hell am I
supposed to do with this?
I don't know. Hide
it, use it for protection.
I mean, you cannot go
in there empty-handed.
[sighs]
Hey, can you just tell me that
everything's gonna be okay?
Hey, look at me, okay?
We're gonna be okay. We can do this.
I'm gonna be right behind you.
[sighs deeply] Okay.
You got this?
I got this.
[sighs]
[woman over PA] Dr. Steven,
Dr. Steven, please...
Why is she restrained?
Um, sorry, sir, I thought
somebody informed you.
Mrs. Donald attempted to take her...
I understand what
happened, but she's fine now.
[doctor] No, sir, she's
still very much a danger
to herself and others.
Our responding paramedics and nurses claim
she continuously tried to
grab at whatever she could
to inflict self-harm.
She's definitely not in
the right state of mind.
We had to sedate and
restrain her for her own safety.
And honestly, I haven't
seen anything like this before.
And then there's the smell.
-Smell? What?
-Yes,
the odor isn't as strong as it was
when she first arrived,
but it still lingers a bit.
It has a chemical element to it.
-Chemical?
-Uh-hmm.
Oh, God. Sarah?
Sarah!
Oh, damn!
[foreboding music]
Kristen!
Kristen!
Kristen!
Kris!
-[Jeff] It's about time!
I'm not a patient man, Sarah.
[Kristen] Sarah, help me!
I'm coming, Kris!
-[Kristen] I'm in here!
[Kristen and Jeff grunting]
Get off my sister!
Oh, my God. Thank you.
He took me from the garage
and put me in the back of his car.
I thought he was gonna kill me.
[Sarah] It's okay. Shh.
Hey, I got you. I got you.
[sighs] Where the hell is she?
[breathing heavily]
[suspenseful music]
[Wayne] No!
[both grunting]
[Wayne groaning]
Help me.
[panting]
-[Sarah] No!
[gasps]
No. No.
No, no, no.
No! No, no, no.
No!
[dramatic music]
Wayne, come on. There's
nothing we could do.
He...
he said, "Help me."
[Sarah] What?
He said, "help me"
just like Jordan.
Who cares what he said?
Let's just get the hell
out of here, please.
It was you.
What?
That smell,
it's the same chemical
compound we give to the mice.
That's how you've been able to do it.
That's how you've been
able to get all your victims
to commit suicide.
What?
Kris, what is he talking about?
I don't know. He's being crazy right now.
Oh, I'm crazy?
-I'm crazy?
-Wayne, stop!
Stop! Put the knife down.
[Wayne] No!
Sarah, don't you see?
It's your sister.
It's been her the whole time.
She killed Jordan. She killed Diana.
And she killed the others too.
Kris, tell him that he's crazy.
What is he talking about?
You see?
This is why I told you
to come alone, Sarah.
The plan was going just fine
and here comes good old
Wayne screwing it all up!
Kris, what are you talking about?
What plan?
The plan?
This plan!
Do you know how much time it took
of a small detail into fishing
the weasel out of his hole?
He wasn't out the country.
He was at his parents' guest house
this whole time.
No, no, no. Kris, I saw him attacking you.
Yeah, about that.
What the hell is all this?
[Kristen] Sarah will be here in a moment.
She's really interested
in putting that all mess
between the two of you behind her.
Can you help me with this?
So these ropes and,
uh, candles, the gloves,
all this is some sort of
sorority recruitment crap?
[Kristen] Yeah. Something like that.
Yeah. We did something like this
for our pledges a few years ago.
Man, whatever.
-[Sarah] Kris!
-[Jeff] It's about time, Sarah.
I'm not a patient man.
[Sarah] Kristen!
[Jeff coughs]
[Kristen] Sarah, help me.
I'm in here. Help!
[Sarah] I'm coming, Kristen!
[Wayne] You lured him here,
making it look like he was attacking you
and then once Sarah arrived, he would've...
Yeah. He couldn't deal
with the consequences of being caught,
so he offed himself.
That's right.
Okay. So then how would
you go about explaining
him gaining access to your father's lab?
[Kristen giggles]
You're funny.
He's Jeffery Clark.
I mean, all space in Crystal Cove
is his personal space, remember?
He drugged and assaulted you, Sarah.
And we all know he was
gonna get away with it too,
because he's nothing
but a spoiled rich kid,
so I had get back at that
perverted piece of shit
for what he did to you.
But I don't understand. How did you...
[machine beeps]
[Kristen] Wayne was right.
I used the chemical compound Dad created
and replicated the sequence,
tweaking it a bit to intensify
the compound's effects
on the human brain.
[tense music]
[Kristen] I tested it on Diana
and it worked better than expected.
[woman screams]
[Diana coughing]
I mean, I hoped that would be enough
to put the suspicion on Jeff,
but it didn't work,
so I posted the fake party fliers
and whenever someone scans the QR code...
[Wayne] It gave you full
access to their phones.
[Kristen] Exactly.
You know, it's not always easy
being the smartest person in the room.
But why kill the others?
They were innocent.
Were they?
I mean, let's think about that.
Diana was too much of a scared little bitch
to press charges on Jeff.
If she didn't retract her statement,
we wouldn't have to deal
with this mess in the first place.
And Jordan who just
wanted to move on and party,
and don't tell me you're shedding a tear
for Rick, Athena, and Jeff?
Forget them, Sarah.
Forget them all.
What about Brittany?
Yeah. I mean, Brittany
was an unfortunate casualty.
But what's that saying?
You can't make an omelet
without cracking a few eggs, right?
Kris, you didn't have
something to do with Mom.
Sarah, I know how much she meant to you,
but Mom was a freaking whore!
She ruined our family.
She cheated on Dad.
She used his desire to see
us to make a few extra bucks.
Ugh, bitch!
Kris, how could you? She loved us.
No. No, she loved you.
She tolerated me.
You were her little doll
with all your cheerleading
and beauty pageants.
She hated me.
She was just mad because
I was intelligent enough
to see right through her.
Kris, that's not true.
I mean, once I saw Mom
for the manipulative little bitch she was,
I asked her if I can move with Dad
and go to school out here.
And you know what she said?
"Over my dead body."
So I granted her demand.
I laced her post-workout protein shake
with highly concentrated
and tasteless dose of ethanol.
And I knew she'd down it on
her way home from the gym
and that would be that.
[sniffles]
-[Kristen] Sarah...
No!
How could you?
I did all of this for you.
But...
that one,
that was for me.
And I know that you'll
probably hate me for it.
I mean, but it was just
something I had to do.
Just like this.
No!
Sarah, get off of me!
-Off!
-Get off of her!
[grunts]
[Kristen screams] Help! Help!
[coughing]
What did you... what did you do?
-Sorry. I'm sorry.
-[Coughing]
[groaning]
[coughing continues]
[wheezing]
[coughing continues]
Help... me.
[Sarah] Stop! Wayne, no!
[water splashes]
[Sarah] No! Wayne, no!
No.
No.
[sobbing]
You have to let him go, Sarah.
This is how it has to be.
[sobbing]
[siren wailing]
Oh, thank God.
I'm so glad you two are safe.
Are you okay?
He tried to kill us, Dad.
It's okay, baby. You two are safe now.
Jeff and Wayne were working together.
They kidnapped me from our house
and they tricked Sarah into coming here
and then he tried to kills
us, but they killed each other.
They killed Jordan,
and Diana, and Brittany.
[Charles] We know, sweetie.
We know.
You know what?
Your father recognized the smell of the gas
on your step mother.
He realized that it was from
a chemical he used in his lab.
And there's only one other logical person
who had access to that gas.
Logical person?
Well, never mind all that right now.
What matters is that you two are safe.
And Brittany is gonna be fine.
It may take some time, but I'm confident
that I'll be able to reverse
the effects of the compound
that Wayne sprayed her with.
Thank God, we made it
through this altogether.
Yeah. Me too. Come here.
I love you, Dad.
[singers] Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
[singer] Oh, please don't lose yourself
I won't let go
Until it's done
Oh, please don't lose yourself
I won't let go
Till it's gone
[singers] Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
