The Smashing Machine (2025) Movie Script
1
This movie is based on a true story that took
place between the years of 1997 and 2000.
Hi, I'm Mark Kerr, and I'm representing
American Freestyle Wrestling, and I'm here
at the World Valley 2-3 to prove that it's
the best fighting style.
And that is wrestler Mark Kerr.
6'1", 260 pounds from Toledo, Ohio.
And again, his specialty
is freestyle wrestling,
and this is his first
professional fight.
This guy, we expect a lot out
of this guy, cause his quarter
of the strongest Americans
to ever step into this ring.
That would be Dan Severin, Don Fry,
and Mark Coleman.
He told us earlier today that this guy is
the best he has ever seen.
And as he enters the ring for the first
time in his professional career,
we will see how he holds up to some of the
toughest competitions.
And now coming in is the biggest here,
Paul Farlin.
6'8", 330 pounds from San Jose,
California.
And he's had 8 years of
wrestling experience too,
but he's definitely
more skilled on his feet.
And there is Sergio
Barterrelli getting the
fighters ready as we
await the opening battle.
And this fight is underway.
And Curry's going at him, he
is unable to stop the fight.
Barterrelli had to step in, bold.
Look at that, some serious cuts there.
The second that bell rings, you can just
look at some people and you can just tell
that they're scared to death.
I mean, you can see it in their eyes.
You can even smell it in their sweat.
Wow.
But you know, it isn't until the first
time I can put my hands on you and really
assert myself and the other
person that you can really feel
almost instantly if the person
is going to give in or not.
What happens next?
It's simple.
Am I going to hurt him before he hurts me?
And he happens to hurt me that I'm going
to hurt him two times as bad.
Because let me tell you
something, when you get
punched in the face, you
can have two reactions.
You can either cower away or you can want
to punish them or some for punching them.
But I developed a third way.
You know, if I get
kicked or if I get punched,
I'm going to something
different than punish you.
I'm going to physically impose my will on
you.
And you really feel when that
happens, when the person just
lets go and he told you what
there's going to be in your arms.
And that's a pretty powerful thing.
He's crazy because in the beginning,
I was just kind of having fun.
I was operating on this animal instinct
that just took over.
I'm going to try and explain it and maybe
this way, but it's kind of strange,
you know?
The whole thing felt very evolutionary.
When I wrestled in college, this is
something totally different.
Well, what do you mean?
Like the moment I felt that rush,
that first hit, I realized I was going to
be close to something that's almost
magical.
Wow.
You get to the point where you have to ask
yourself, like, would you stick your
finger in your palm's
cup, spread it out a little bit
more, just to win for making
you feel pain, would you?
I mean, I guess I would.
Of course, you move it in.
You know why?
Because winning is the best feeling there
is.
And keep in mind, this was a tournament
down in Brazil.
So if you won, you didn't go home.
No, you went on and you fought the next
guy, and then the next guy right after
that, and then the next guy, and then the
next guy.
So by the end, you felt like a god.
It's amazing.
It's incredible.
I mean,
nothing else in this world matters.
And it kind of might be the best feeling
in the world, you know?
Yeah.
And it's a feeling I didn't even know was
possible.
And fuck man, I'm not giving chills much
faith.
I'm just telling you about this.
He has experienced the Octagon.
You know, he's tough.
Super tough.
What is it that you think you're going to
bring to the stage?
Well, I think that I feel really good
about my cardiovascular level.
I feel great about my power, which I've
improved on.
But you know what?
It's like the difference between a
flashlight and a laser beam.
Wow.
That's awesome.
What do you mean by that?
You have to make sure that I'm 100%
concentrated on what I have to do.
Because if not, then my emotions will be
running around everywhere like a flashlight.
Does that make sense?
Yeah, I mean, think about it.
It applies to you and everybody else in
this world.
If we don't control
our emotions, our fears
and our anxieties,
we'll get the best of us.
You know what happens?
We get slapped around with emotions and we
can't have them.
That's right.
Hey, Kurt.
Get your ass out.
Thank you so much for your... Yeah,
thank you very much.
I appreciate you.
Great.
My man.
I see a heck of a difference in the shape
of the rain, all right?
It's a game.
It's a game.
First time in the Octagon.
I'm still in the same vein.
Yeah, guys, come on.
There's only been 14 of these five years.
Excuse me, Bowman?
Yeah, Mark VanderKammer.
Can I ask about your plans to take on
Bowman?
Oh, Bowman.
Um, Kurt?
Yeah.
Get him down early.
How's that happen?
And she up to the UFC.
They were kind of like the first in combat
sports.
Is that boxing?
Well, there's a little boxing in it.
Yeah, it's more like martial arts that
have been around for thousands of years
and we bring them all together to see
which one is the best.
So, I come from a wrestling background,
but I might fight a guy who comes from a
karate background or a guy who comes from
a boxing background.
Yeah, I have heard about this.
That's the bloody thing they're trying to
ban.
Yes, that's right.
That's right.
It is.
But I've got to tell you, the popularity
of the sport comes from the stereotype
that you're going to see the bloodiest and
the goryest sport you've ever seen.
I can't do that.
It bothers me.
It should bother a lot of people.
Do you hate each other when you fight?
Absolutely not.
No.
Sorry to interrupt Dr. Cortez's email.
Thank you so much.
It was great to talk to you.
Thank you.
It was great to talk with you,
too.
Yes.
What's up, little man?
I'm sorry.
He's kind of shy, but I think he wants
your honor back.
Sure, no problem.
What's your name?
His name is Convo.
But could you make it out to his brother
Murray, too?
No fighting.
Hey, Murray.
Hey, Raja.
How's it going?
How are you, man?
All right.
You must be a little jealous.
Yeah, I just flew in this morning.
Where'd you come from again?
Japan.
So UFC's now in Japan?
No, it's kind of like an NBA, ABA
situation.
Two different leagues.
This one's called Pride.
Why don't you take off your shirt?
Let me take a look.
Okay, so we're doing the usual.
We're sending your scripts over to
Safeway.
You know what?
I'm thinking this month.
I'm going to switch over to A to Z.
They handle my insurance much better.
Let's do that.
Okay.
Sure, yeah.
That's no problem.
I can switch the insurance over again.
You know what?
Let's not even deal with the insurance.
They are over at Safeway.
They're just such a pain in the butt.
Plus, it's easier for you.
I'll just pay out of pocket.
Are you sure?
Something's better.
Not a problem.
I don't get punched in the face with
nothing.
I'll pay out of pocket.
Not a problem.
Do you want me to throw this out?
Are you going to have this?
Use the skim milk, right?
Yeah.
I switched the whole milk last week.
Why didn't you tell me?
No, you've got to tell me these things.
I'm going to get it wrong if you don't
tell me.
How much banana did you put in?
Half a banana.
Half?
You changed that too.
What is it now?
It's actually one and a half.
I said not on the couch.
How many times do I see her?
She's destroying the couch.
This is expensive.
All right, come on.
Come on, come on, come on, come on.
You destroyed enough.
I don't know.
Oh, she sounds like a momma.
Come on, let her back up.
She can sit on me.
It
Was really nice of me to make my smoothie.
I mean it, thank you.
Shut your mouth.
No, I mean it, thank you.
Even though it was made with the wrong
milk, you didn't know the thing.
How does that feel?
It feels great.
Do you want some more?
Should you ask like that?
Yes, you can stretch me more.
Too much?
Never.
Too much?
No.
Too much?
No.
No.
Excuse
me.
I'd love to see the sunset.
Sure.
This...
was nothing at all.
But what I do...
I do.
The contract says... The
past contract says 3,300.
Remaining.
Remaining, yes, remaining.
So, 3,300 still remaining come to me.
So, one month, no contract, no money,
no more, this is it?
Yes, no contracts anymore.
No money.
That's it.
Am I speaking too fast?
No, of course.
I'm not speaking too fast.
Maybe my English is too fast.
I'm going to need more money.
But we have to discuss about this.
We have to discuss, yes?
No, no, not you.
I'm talking to my headquarters.
Not you.
You're going to speak to your
headquarters.
Yeah.
Okay.
It's okay.
I understand that.
But before I fight again, we should clear
this up.
We should have an understanding.
We should have an agreement, yes.
Before I fight again.
Yes.
Okay.
Just wait.
It's fair.
It's okay.
I got it.
I got the hope, yes.
So, how do you know Marker?
Marker and I go way back.
You know, we wrestled each other back in
You know, and so way back then I knew who
Marker was.
You know, we competed against each other,
but he's a buddy of mine.
Oh, so who started professional first?
I guess I did because I was a couple years
ahead of him.
Kind of got into that fighting game prior
to him.
He got in.
I was trying to help him now.
I was actually his first kind of trainer
and manager.
Oh.
Yeah.
It was fun times, but you know,
now we train together.
And he's coming to his own.
I mean, look what he's been doing.
I'm super proud of him.
And yeah, I couldn't be more proud.
Yeah.
Which one would you like to see?
The ball, please, with the gold.
The lawn?
Yes.
It is so artistic and very expensive.
It's beautiful.
Ok-k-sama, omega-takai?
Sorry, I don't understand.
I don't speak Japanese.
What did you say?
You have a good eye.
Ah, thank you.
I'll take you.
I'll take you.
You know what?
I'll take this too, please.
You're my girlfriend.
She loves colors.
I'll take you.
I'll take you.
You're right.
What do you think about your opponent?
He's a very famous fighter for having a
hard punch.
He has a hard punch?
It's probably going to be my toughest
fight.
Because of his experience.
But I have to fight a clean fight.
I have to fight a very technical fight if
I'm going to be victorious.
But we are human.
Sometimes we lose.
What do you think that would feel like?
Can you imagine that?
You know, I try not to let thoughts like
that answer my mind.
But if they do, I really wouldn't know
what to do with them.
Because I don't know what that's like.
I've never lost a fight.
Sorry, but that's the truth.
But can I ask you one more time?
I'm going to ask you another challenge.
Hypothetically speaking, if I lost...
I don't know.
I don't even respond to that.
Because I've never lost.
Thank you.
I mean, I'm trying to intellectualize it
with you.
But I just...
I can't.
We apologize if we get to waiting.
We'd like to start with the following
world changes.
The following options are now deemed to be
illegal.
Number one, biting.
Number two, I'm biting.
Number three, I'm biting.
Number three, I'm biting.
Number three, I'm biting.
And now,
in this position, me and Keith are both.
I'm sorry.
I would just like to make sure that we
understood correctly.
If the opponent is in a position
while his face is upward,
is it allowed for the person
standing to kick in the face?
Yes, that is okay.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Just be patient out there.
Have fun.
You need to keep boxing that.
Be patient, find your time, get them down,
do your thing.
You're going to have fun, I think.
So, come on.
Say it on.
I'm going to grab this one.
All right, buddy, I'm thinking like five
to ten, all right?
Yeah.
Hi.
Are you okay?
Why are you being so weird?
Your eyes look weird.
Come here.
Come here.
Okay.
You made me feel so fucking stupid coming
in here.
It's like you guys were talking shit or
something.
I fucking flew halfway across the globe.
You asked me to come.
I said thank you.
Oh, yeah?
And then you asked like a fucking dick in
front of your friend.
Don't call me next time.
Please don't come.
I'm lonely.
Fuck you.
I'm trying to focus.
It has nothing to do with you.
Can you say hello to me?
You don't even have time to say hello to
me.
I just don't want to fight.
Not now.
Please.
Can you hear if I punch you in the face?
Yes.
Punch me in the fucking face.
Could we communicate?
Punch me in the fucking face.
Punch me in the fucking face.
The biggest lie in my life.
Punch me in the fucking face.
Come in.
I'm so sorry.
May I ride you below downstairs?
Things have come with me.
Thank you.
You're out of fucking control.
I'm sorry.
This is a short clash of two giants and a
sport blast.
And I am really the only one expecting.
Of course, the only one expecting.
I'm gonna go for Missy, okay?
I would say two, but...
But Janssen being a face...
I'm talking about the current man,
Corinne.
Yeah, I don't know if that will get
us any... But I'll tell you one thing.
I'm gonna win.
Okay, I think I'm okay.
Some bumps and bruises.
You're not injured.
You'll heal up and leave the two tops.
Okay?
Yeah, that's right.
I'll heal up the week or two tops.
I need my hands out broken, my feet are
fine.
You don't wear this one tough motherfucker
though, huh?
I'll give him that.
Yeah.
All right guys, I'm gonna run outside.
I'll be back here.
Yeah.
Hey, Colman, can I just talk to you?
Yeah.
I just wanna know if he's gonna be okay.
I've never seen him like this
before, so... He should be fine.
Okay.
And he seemed okay, right?
Yeah, I mean, I just...
I don't know, I like knew it.
Before he stepped in the ring
and he just... What do you mean?
Well, he just wasn't serious, I think,
and...
about the fight, like
the past two weeks have
been out drinking and
stuff and praying and...
You never brought that daughter?
To you.
To me, yeah.
Why?
He doesn't need to be drinking two weeks
before...
I'm not his trainer, and I'm not a
fighter, and he seemed fine about it.
He seemed fine.
And I don't know if he ever thought this
was possible, that he would lose,
and I didn't think it was possible.
All right, I get it.
Just be there for him, okay?
We have decided to call this fight with
the whole no-contest.
No-contest?
We're very happy to have you back here
Friday, yes.
Thank you.
Thank you.
What did they say?
They decided to call it a no-contest.
That's awesome.
That's awesome.
Why are you so, so sad?
I'm not sad.
It's just, I don't do that for a
no-contest.
I want the decision.
You know, I mean, it's just, I'm out
there, I'm sacrificing everything,
literally, you know.
I see.
I'm sacrificing everything out there from
the reward of the end.
Right.
It's the high from that thing that I do,
the thing that I just did out there.
It's a high that, there's no other high
like it in the world.
I can only imagine, I can see it, I can see
it in you when you're doing it, you know.
It's 40,000 people when they're cheering
you on.
I mean, that's orgasmic.
Yeah, I know.
No, I'm not kidding.
I'm not kidding.
It's like, I'm talking about the highest
of highs.
And two men out there
competing against each
other, and it's only
us, and it's so raw.
But you've got to have the competition,
and you have that feeling, you fought,
you had the feeling, but you don't seem
happy about it.
I'm trying to explain it to you,
but you just keep talking.
You just keep talking over me.
No, I'm trying to understand what you're
saying, and I'm trying to support you.
But only because I'm trying to tell you
exactly what happened.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Hey, brother.
How are you?
Oh, you okay?
Sorry.
Definitely.
Let me see.
Nice.
How many stitches?
Four.
Four stitches?
Four.
How else?
The body feel okay?
A little bit of the knee.
A little bit of the knee.
You know why?
A lot of my head.
I'm sorry.
No, no, no, it's okay.
It's totally okay.
Tell them it's natural, natural reaction.
My head was down there.
My face is down there.
Let's all get a picture.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, let's do it together.
Let's do it again.
Let's all get in.
Take this picture for me.
Thank you.
Look at you.
Do the best one.
Do the best one.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Great fight.
This is cold.
Cold in heat?
This is heat.
Heat, okay.
Three?
Three?
No, just one.
Really, just one?
Just one.
Do you have any stronger pain medication?
Pain medication?
Honey, I don't think they do that.
Do they have these?
They've got everything.
Like narcotics, opiates?
No, no, no, no.
Why not?
You must... certification.
Certification?
Yes, yes.
Permission?
Let's just come.
It's okay.
Just take what they have.
We have a permission.
You give permission for me?
Thank you.
No, no, it's too late.
Yes.
No, no.
What do you have for me?
It's strong.
I have a...
Advil.
Advil?
Advil?
Thank you.
Thank you.
Dawn, would you like handing them out for
candy?
Thank you.
Hey, Joan.
Hey, it's Mark.
Yeah, I'm great.
How are you doing?
Great.
I'm calling because I
know Dr. Rob was going
to write that prescription
for Voltaren for me.
Yeah, but Voltaren, as a pill,
it's a little hard on my tummy.
Yeah, and I know that you
guys can give me the injection,
but you don't want to
see me in there every day.
So what I was hoping
is if Dr. Rob can write a
prescription, that's a
little better than Voltaren.
That's a little stronger too as well.
Oh, great.
Yeah, that would be great.
So whenever he gets back in the office,
just have him give me a call.
I'll be here.
I'm feeling really good.
I appreciate it.
You know, like a day without pain is like
a day without sunshine.
Yeah.
I'm not going to get any better this week.
Yeah.
I know.
I can't keep coming out and finding you
like this, Mark.
It's just...
What do you mean?
You keep telling me you're going to quit
and then come out.
Maybe I just need to, you know, just
have to get through this, this moment.
Yeah, fine.
What do you want from me?
Do you want me just to pretend that
everything's fine?
Oh, what do you mean?
You don't look like this.
I don't look like this.
I just want you to feel like, oh,
that's all.
What do you mean?
You look like what?
You keep telling me we're going to quit
and then come out.
We aren't going to take a hike.
We're going to go today.
You don't even hide it from me anymore.
You keep coming into the bathroom and
seeing your shit everywhere.
It's okay.
It's okay.
It's just getting bad.
It's getting crazy.
No, it's insane.
And you need to get serious.
I am serious.
What do you mean?
Because I don't even know what this person
is trying to say.
I'm serious.
I'm going through this.
What are you, going
through the house looking
to find stuff just to
get me in trouble?
No.
Somebody stop treating like a fucking
child.
How about that?
Stop acting like one I wouldn't have to.
Like you, you lost a fight.
Big deal.
Just get over it.
You want to fight?
Don't drink that special cup.
You ready?
Looks like the morning.
Okay, okay, okay.
The winner is Daddy.
Fought a tough opponent.
My toughest jet.
Feels good to be in the wind column again.
And after this painting, I'm going to give
my girl a new playhouse.
And a bike.
And hold on.
Here, walk me through everything from the
beginning.
I think I did too much and then I couldn't
wake him up.
I found him on the ground.
And then I was like shaking him.
Is he alive?
He's alive, but I didn't know he knew at
first.
Oh, fucking God, okay.
I know.
Calm down, calm down.
Okay, I need you to come and help me,
okay?
I'm going to get on the first flight out,
alright?
I'm going to help you.
I will be there as soon as I can.
First flight.
What's he doing?
He's not okay.
He's awake though.
Yeah.
Careful.
What's going on, man?
That's what he is.
What's up, man?
He's like for sore eyes.
Jesus Christ.
What do I mean?
He's looking a little rough.
You're not going to lie?
Oh, man.
You should see the soap in this place,
man.
It's like fucking glue.
I don't even kind of see it.
I know, man.
It's just doing a number on my hair,
you know?
Yeah.
Man, you look good, man.
Thank you.
So, man, is this sick or something?
Yeah, I got sick.
I got sick and it was pretty unbelievable.
It was pretty bad.
That's the right word.
It was bad.
So what happened?
Can you give me the whole story?
I was on the floor and I couldn't wake up.
And then Dawn came in and she was trying
to wake me up.
Again?
That's weird.
It's fine.
Keep going, though.
Yeah, yeah.
No, I don't ever... I know that.
I know that.
So then Dawn called 911 and then the
paramedics came in.
And then they couldn't wake me up either.
And then they put me in the ambulance.
And then they were...
I was kind of like in this weird altered
state.
Like I was aware of where I was and I
could kind of see things.
A little blurry, but I could hear
everything.
So my acuity was pretty good.
They were asking me questions.
I got a few of the questions wrong a
little bit.
Like, who was the president?
They said, who's the president?
What'd you say?
Ronald Reagan.
You fucking believe that?
I mean, shit, let's say that anyway.
I would say that even on a good day I was
home.
I'm like, you guys can't ask.
That's when I realized, like, it's kind of
unfair, you know, the way they were.
Hey.
Yeah.
Listen.
Just stop, all right?
Please.
Hey, you're good.
Look, I didn't come out here because I
love a famous dude, all right?
Look, I came out here because I want to
see you get better.
You can't keep doing this to yourself.
I'm so sorry.
It's me.
You don't have to apologize, okay?
I'm one of your best friends in the world,
right?
And I'm here because I love you,
okay?
Come here.
Come here.
I fucking love you, man.
What's up?
I don't want to die.
Hey, look at me.
You're not going to die, all right?
Look at me.
I can't.
We're all in this together, all right?
There's tons of people that love you.
It's got to start with you, okay?
And you got this, all right?
All right, I know, I know.
I know.
Look at me.
You know I can't.
I'm so no more alone.
If you can't come around,
at least don't ever.
Don't be cruel
to a heart that's true.
It's something that I might have said.
Thank you for having me today.
I have a little bit strange question for
you.
Okay.
Are you okay to fight without your friend?
Mark Gurr?
Yes, Mark Gurr.
Yeah, I've been worried about him for
quite a while now.
You know, just as a friend.
I know your feelings.
But I think that loss to Igor,
or whatever you want to call it,
the no contest, I think that was the best
thing that could have happened to him.
I feel like he's going to come back a
better version of himself.
You know, and I know he wants to be here.
He loves you guys.
And he's distraught.
He can't make it.
So what make you keep him motivated?
I mean, a lot of people tell me I should
retire, you know, and give it up.
But I got a family, you know.
And there's a lot worse ways to make
living, you know.
So I'm looking forward to Sunday.
I think it's going to be a good one.
So not only is Mark Coleman here without
the support of his friend Mark Gurr,
who had to drop out of his
own fight here due to health
reasons, but he is also on
an uphill battle against time.
After his recent losses, you have to ask
yourself, is this the end of the road for
Mark Coleman, or will he extend his career
to just one more time?
In
This place and my set...
There's no way I can get out of here.
There's no way.
On the inside, you don't feel.
..
It doesn't move on the inside?
It moves, but it's moving so fast that you
can't even feel it.
I really don't want to go on the ride with
her, but the center part there,
that's the thing that stays still,
right?
Can I stand in there, in the middle part?
In the center part?
Yes.
Sometimes I'd be a serious liability
issue.
Where would you recommend I stand?
You don't want to get sick on the ride?
I would suggest you don't go on the ride,
because you can't handle it.
Well, that's not
the way it works.
Right now it steals water and it ruins the
integrity from the larger arms.
I'm sorry, I didn't realize it was such a
big deal.
It's just a plant.
It's not just a plant, it's just a world
of cactus.
It's hard to grow like that.
Can I have that knife?
You make a really great father,
you know that?
It's very nice of you to say it.
And I mean it,
but... That's true.
Well, thank you.
I'm just not ready.
I don't know why you keep bringing that
up.
It's like you keep forcing it.
I'm not forcing it, I was
just saying you have
great qualities and you
make great dad, that's all.
Why'd you bring it up?
To be nice.
Well, it's not nice, because you keep
making me say no.
You already know how I feel about that.
Look, I love kids.
But I'm always gone.
My mind is preoccupied with everything
else that's going on.
You keep bringing this up about having
kids.
I don't know what you want me to do.
I look around and I'm already doing
everything already.
That's not true.
It is true.
I'm already doing everything around here.
Understand?
Just don't have the mental space.
Have a kid and I'm sorry.
I don't like telling you that.
I was just trying to be nice.
I know.
Okay?
I know.
And it's very nice.
And I appreciate it.
It's just not the right time.
Really, dog?
Look at all the leaves.
Are you kidding me, Mark?
That was this morning.
I know, but... I'll do it.
So, how is it been?
It's been really fucking annoying to be
honest with you.
It's just... he's on this whole high horse
take and I thought I could handle it.
And I don't know if I can, because being
on a completely different fucking horse
now... is all they
can talk about, so...
When he was using, he
was like tender and sweet and
he relied upon me and
now it's like... He's distant.
It's hard.
It's hard to know and he's like shitty and
picking on me and...
Well... I think I missed taking care of
it, you know?
Yeah.
Oh my God.
Oh, right for you?
Oh my God.
Your tongue on the roof of your mouth.
Yes, yes.
It works.
Happy birthday to you.
Happy birthday to you.
Happy birthday dear Jacqueline.
Happy birthday to you.
Go
Back to their place.
The place was the worst.
I feel like I can
guarantee I won't get a headache anymore.
No, I'm just out of rehab.
Please, really?
It's like I didn't do it in front of you.
No, but you're just not being nice to me
right now.
You're not being very nice to me.
What does that even mean?
I didn't do anything.
You didn't judge me and you just got your
shit together 21 days.
It doesn't make you any better than me.
I'm sorry, I didn't mean it in that way.
Mark, it's just because you've got a
problem with something doesn't mean that
everyone in the world has the same problem
that you do, okay?
So just give me a break.
You wouldn't understand.
Who are you calling?
Hey, Jeff, it's Mark.
Oh, it's just Mark, sir.
Okay, you know what?
You're not funny anymore.
You're not funny anymore.
You're just fucking down and pale.
Hold on, hold on one second.
What are you doing?
There's a lot of difficult time in my
mind.
Please, please, I need you to understand.
I do understand.
I do understand.
But then you go and call Jeff and then you
just shut me out and it really hurts my
feelings and I'm here to talk to you,
okay?
You just gotta let me in.
You don't need Jeff.
This is what I'm talking about.
You did this up and down.
I don't know who I'm talking to.
How the fuck can you say?
Your behavior is just so unhealthy for me
right now.
Please, Todd.
You know what?
Fuck you, Mark.
Just go fuck yourself.
Jeff, can you hear what I'm dealing with
now?
I'm so uncomfortable with my own health.
I don't know if you had a chance to hear
what she was saying when she was screaming.
Yeah.
The reason it is is that you're fucking
jealous that I can still go out and get
drinks with my friends and it's completely
fine.
And you wish you could do that.
Well, stop trying to pretend that I'm the
one with the fucking problem.
Hope you and Jeff are real fucking happy
together.
You're gone?
Gone?
Today, we are happy to
have our greatest fighters
in one room together
for this first conference.
Please give a round of applause for them.
We will be holding a tournament over two
events leading to a championship fight
that will result in the number one fighter
in all of the world.
And also we regret that we disappointed
Japan last time with the cancellation of
the main card of anything in U.S.
budget marked card.
We have received much word that this will
not happen again.
And he has asked for some time to address
his Japanese friends regarding his
inclusion in this special tournament.
Hello, and thank you to everyone for
allowing me to be here today.
I'd like to apologize first and foremost
to the pride organization and staff.
You have been extremely
understanding to me during
my time of dealing with
my personal struggles.
And finally to the Japanese people,
the Japanese fans, I know that you've been
questioning whether I am the fighter that
you thought that I was.
And one of my biggest regrets in life is
the answer to that question.
I wasn't.
And I'm ashamed about that.
But I promise you that I'm going to work
even harder to make this up to you.
Thank you.
Adagato.
Look what the cat dragged in.
Barbito!
Barbito!
Man, good to see you.
I guess we've got some work to do.
I'm just kidding with you.
Take a look at this.
Oof.
I haven't been taken away with,
so I... I took everything away.
I mean, Coleman's been working on striking
and his kicking.
The motors told him that they don't want
to see any more grappling and wrestling.
What does she knock out?
She said they want to see people get
knocked out.
Well, look how he beat Bugano.
Knocked him out.
Right?
I mean, an answer actually is going to do
exactly the same thing to you.
He's going to come for you and he wants to
knock you out.
You're just going to move backwards,
wait for the right moment, shoot him,
take his ass down, and then you just hit
him in the face like this.
So no striking?
No.
No striking.
Well, you need to know striking in order
to get him to the ground.
But, come on, man, you know it's can't go
on, right?
Five friends by knockout, five friends by
submission, and then last year,
on my freaking birthday, who won the Abu
Dhabi combat football championship?
You did.
He's not going to take you down.
He saw you beat four amazing grapplers.
Nobody can even close to submitting him.
So trust me, this guy is not going to take
you to the ground.
Ready?
I think so.
You think so?
Come on, Mark, he has no answer.
I think so.
Come on, are you ready?
Yes.
Ah, don't you look at the side of this,
you're on my window!
He's back!
Actually, the left way can't say,
it's still a little bit more than yours.
So, keep rest.
Okay, here we go, two.
Good, again.
Four.
Good.
Up, cut straight.
Nice.
Very good.
Good.
Now switch.
There we go.
You see, stop playing with that.
I feel it.
Good.
That's how you should feel.
Okay, okay, Mark, Mark, Mark, Mark,
Mark, Mark.
You're looking where you're going to hit.
Right?
I'm going to hit you in the head?
You're going to defend it.
Now, so what I do, I hit the body and hit
him hard, because he needs to defend it.
He needs to respect him.
To the body.
To the body.
Same order.
To the head.
But you see, you don't look at the head.
So, you hit the head.
Then you go...
That's okay.
He's having a heart attack.
He's going to call 911 right now.
That's my freakin' cousin there.
Did you hear him?
No, it's messed up my career.
No, it's freakin' just going to go on for
an hour and a half.
I know there's a million, many times.
Isn't this our best one?
Yeah.
I'm not using it.
I swear to God.
This is over.
I don't give a shit doing anything.
I don't give a shit.
Five seconds, all your pain has come your
way.
Just breathe.
Oh, dude.
Oh, dude, I feel like a plant.
What are you fighting about, dude?
Just get used to it.
Now
I know why you're always sweating.
You're always sweating.
Ooh, this is weird.
Just breathe.
If it's not.
And now, it is here.
So I face this final curtain.
My friend, I'll say it clear.
I'll stay like him.
And I'm rich and certain.
I live like a school.
I travel deep and I read my way.
Oh, much more than this.
I did it my way.
I had a few.
But I've got too few to imagine.
I did what I had to do.
I saw it through without intention.
Each charted course each can stand on the
ground.
One
class I'm really excited about is the
clash between Mark Kerr and Ensign Inouye.
Wrestling vs.
Jiu-Jitsu.
That's going to be a great one,
boss.
It's going to be a super exciting fight.
And I'll tell you why, because last time
Mark Kerr wasn't in the best shape.
This time, though, he came back to me and
you know as well as I do.
Once you acquired a skill set of mixed
martial arts, I think that endurance is
the most important aspect of mixed martial
arts.
So he can go to the next one.
Let's hope so.
One thing everybody's been
talking about is the potential
collision between the two
Americans in this tournament.
Boss, have you spoken to
either Kerr or Coleman of fighting
such a good friend for a
life-changing amount of money?
That's a super intense question,
Steven.
I know, I have not.
But I can only imagine they're deep in
each other's heads right now.
Coleman, did you hear this?
What page?
Seven.
I got you mid-breath.
Yeah, I look exhausted.
All right, go to five.
It was a great one to make cake.
Oh, wanna have some fun?
What do you mean?
Come on.
Yeah?
Yeah.
This
is the first round of the
two-round Grand Prix
to crown the greatest
fighter in the world.
I gotta say, it's so great
to see Mark Kerr knock out
their smiling amongst this
highly elite group of fighters.
Please rise for the Star-Spangled Banner.
But this is his first real test against
the Dean.
Can he still fight with everything he's
been through?
And he's someone who could really win this
whole tournament.
That was the May 1st, 2000.
The winner of the tournament walks away
with a whopping $200,000.
Life-changing money.
Now, that's no joke.
Japanese theory.
And it's called, like, a kid so shitty.
Or a kid so whatever.
They say when you repair something,
it makes it more beautiful.
And it
has some history, so I just wanted to fix
it.
I don't know, it's like, you were supposed
to use gold, but I had crazy glues.
Crazy glues.
Crazy glues?
I think it's the point that it's supposed
to look kind of bad.
No, no, no, it doesn't look bad.
It doesn't look bad.
It's beautiful.
It's the most meaningful thing anyone's
ever done.
And I love you.
So, tomorrow... what was it?
Tomorrow I figured I'd work it out for
about an hour or so back at the hotel,
and then we'll hit the road, drive back to
Phoenix.
So, what are you going to do next week?
What are we going to do?
Who's going to do it for you?
I'll figure it out.
Listen, you really believe it's a good
idea?
Yeah, I know what
I'm doing right now.
You ready for me?
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm going to pull the car up,
okay?
Okay.
You done?
Yeah.
What do you think?
You're a big baby girl.
He's right here.
Honey, why is Coleman calling you?
Did you call him?
I was probably just calling to check up on
me.
The boss also called you, which I thought
was kind of weird.
It's not weird.
They're my friends.
I just thought it was funny that they're
both calling you.
Well, it's not funny.
They're my friends.
It's perfectly normal for them to call me
and just to check up on me.
They just called you out of the blue.
Don, I haven't been fighting a couple of
weeks.
They're probably just calling to see how I
feel about it.
That makes sense.
So they weren't calling
to make sure you were
in a cave and bring
me to Japan with you?
You listened to my answer.
Yeah, I did.
I did because I'm not hearing shit from
you, so do you agree with them?
What are you talking about?
Say it, that you don't want me to go with
you to Japan.
I'm not going to say that.
Why?
Just say it.
I just need like a couple of days.
That's it.
I just need two days.
That's it.
Just to focus.
You're saying I can't help you focus?
No, I'm not saying that at all.
I'm just saying, Don, I need you to
understand.
This is a big deal for me.
It's the biggest fight ever.
I just need a couple of days.
That's it.
Just a couple of days to focus.
Paz is saying I just
need to... I got it.
I got it.
I got it.
You know what?
I don't fucking get it.
What do you get, Don?
I don't fucking get it because I do
everything for you around here, okay?
I book your appointments.
I cook for you.
I clean your fucking underwear.
I know you do.
I thank you in the past.
And I appreciate everything you do.
This is a crazy tournament.
This is the biggest fight of my life.
Just say you don't want me to go.
I'm not going to say that.
It confuses the situation.
I'm not going to say that.
You just look me in the eye and you tell
me you hate me.
And you don't want me to go.
I'm not going to say that.
I'm not going to say that.
And how many times do I have to rewrite my
boundaries with you?
This is so fucking exhausting.
I'm sorry.
I just need you to let me in.
I feel so excluded from everything.
And I'd love to know about your fighting.
And I'd love to know about your training.
And how are you feeling in your body?
But you don't want to tell me anything.
Oh, no.
Don't do that.
Do not do that.
Don't act like all of a sudden you give
two shits about my body and my training.
And the only thing you care about is
yourself.
Really?
Inserting yourself into everything.
Yes, that's it.
Always about you.
This is everything.
This is about you.
And all you give me
is your shitty fucking
leftovers and you keep
telling me it's dinner time.
I was asking, did you read that one of
your little fucking books?
Oh, fuck you, asshole.
Yeah, I did.
That's how I feel.
Read it's how you feel.
You want to know how I feel?
You know what sucks?
And what's not nice?
Is that I'm working my ass off trying to
stay sober around here.
Sure, okay.
Yeah, maybe I'll call your sponsor.
Don't fucking do that.
You stop.
Don't fucking work my program like that.
Don't you fucking work my program like
that.
You want to hit me?
Let's go.
Come on.
Let's fucking go.
Mr. Mr. Cuckett in control.
I don't know what to do.
I'm working my ass off.
To make a life changing amount of money.
And what are you doing?
I just get out of rehab.
And you're out till four o'clock in the
morning with your friends.
You're drinking.
You're eating Advil at fucking two thirty
in the afternoon.
You think that's nice to me?
You think that's encouraging?
No, it's rude.
And it's selfish.
And it's fucked up.
And that's why you're not going to Japan.
I knew it was you.
I knew it was your fucking idea.
You knew it.
Yeah, of course you did.
Of course.
Because it's all about you.
All about you.
You don't care about me.
You don't care about my feelings.
You just care about yourself.
And your dumb fucking friends.
And your stupid fucking fight.
My stupid fucking fighting.
That's paid for this fucking house.
My stupid fucking fighting.
That's paid for the car.
Paid for that fucking outfit.
But that's how you like it.
You just want to know everything.
That's on you.
All these insecurities don't are on you.
So whatever's going on in that fucked up
head of yours, that's an inside job.
I don't think you know a damn thing about
me.
You don't know a damn thing about me.
You know that, Mark?
I think it's best if you leave.
We're having a party.
Can't do a party.
No, because everybody's coming over and
everyone's excited.
And I was really excited about it.
And I feel like we could just talk about
this tomorrow.
And I don't have to come to Japan or
anything.
It's okay.
Don't go in the room, pack a bag,
and get out.
Beneath the city, to our street.
Sold in junk running through our nights so
tender.
In a bedroom locked, and whispered in
sound.
Don't.
In the future, we may... Don't.
Don't.
Don't.
Don't.
Don't.
Don't.
I'll be here.
Open the door.
Maybe we're going to talk this through.
I need you to look me in the eyes just so
you can see what I'm feeling.
Don't.
Where's the girl who said something?
You're not.
You took her hand off me.
You took the hand off me.
I wasn't going to do anything.
I'm just pretending where they're from.
The doctor's going to assess her mental
health.
And we'll be able to go to Sierra.
You'd be able to see
her, but after a medical
doctor actually come in
there and assess her first.
We tried.
Would you like Fushita or Marker?
Yeah, that's a very difficult question.
I don't think I can answer that one.
I totally understand.
I'd say, what if Marker does win?
Would it be hard for you to fight such a
good friend of yours?
Yeah, of course.
But look, if it happens, it happens,
right?
I'm going to give him my all.
He's going to do the same.
And we'll see what happens.
Okay.
Thank you very much.
Yes, sir.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Appreciate it.
Mark told me he enters
the finals off the heels of a
decisive victory against
Sataki in the first round.
Given his recent losses
before that match, this could
be Coleman's last chance
at this elusive championship.
He has a tough match to have in his pocket
up here.
A promising fighter looking to make a name
for himself.
But a victory here tonight would pit him
against the winner of Curve vs.
Fushita later this evening.
Coleman's trainer has told
us that he has been working
on his boxing game recently
and that we should hold him.
Something tells me I might take a wreck
and
he'll win against one of the toughest
fighters in
this in any way similar to the man I know
he is.
Mark,
can you hear me?
Do you know what happened to you?
Yeah.
You did.
Do you know where you are right now?
Yeah.
Yeah, you need a few stitches.
Is it bad?
No, it's not horrible.
No.
I'm just gonna go over here and get
everything ready.
Alright.
It'll be a few minutes.
You just sit tight here.
Yeah.
Okay.
Alright.
I hate to do this, brother, but I gotta go
back to the commentator.
Thank you.
Thank you for everything.
You're welcome, brother.
I'm sorry.
No, no, no.
Don't try that.
Hey, don't.
Don't.
Sorry.
Hey, he's okay.
He's alright.
I got a gash here.
I got a stitch there.
It's clearing up.
It's clearing my door.
No, no, no, by the way.
What's going on, buddy?
What's going on, man?
How you doing?
You know.
You alright?
Yeah, a little bang up.
Nothing worried about nothing.
Whatever.
Let it go.
Happens.
It's one night.
We've all been there.
You heard about Vegeta, right?
He's out.
He's not coming back.
He's injured.
Yeah, I know.
I know.
That's all he used to win, now,
Colt.
For real?
For real.
Yeah, Muddy.
It's all yours.
Go get it.
I'll fucking get it.
All yours.
Appreciate it.
Good night, Muddy.
We'll bring it up.
I'll get it done.
Someone told me he was coming into this
fight.
I was looking fresh and never.
After his good friend, Markura,
inadvertently, did him a favor after
Fujita injured his knees in their fight
together.
The question is...
How are you?
I'm good.
Thank you.
How's your day so far?
So far so good.
Yours?
That's good.
It's gonna get real busy.
Mark and Dawn reuntited after his loss and
got married in las vegas ten days later.
They were married for six years,
and have a son together.
Mark retired from fighting in 2009.
Kerr and Coleman were some of the
earliest pioneers of the sport.
Todays star fighters can earn millions
and everyone knows their names.
His name is Mark Kerr.
See you guys.
This movie is based on a true story that took
place between the years of 1997 and 2000.
Hi, I'm Mark Kerr, and I'm representing
American Freestyle Wrestling, and I'm here
at the World Valley 2-3 to prove that it's
the best fighting style.
And that is wrestler Mark Kerr.
6'1", 260 pounds from Toledo, Ohio.
And again, his specialty
is freestyle wrestling,
and this is his first
professional fight.
This guy, we expect a lot out
of this guy, cause his quarter
of the strongest Americans
to ever step into this ring.
That would be Dan Severin, Don Fry,
and Mark Coleman.
He told us earlier today that this guy is
the best he has ever seen.
And as he enters the ring for the first
time in his professional career,
we will see how he holds up to some of the
toughest competitions.
And now coming in is the biggest here,
Paul Farlin.
6'8", 330 pounds from San Jose,
California.
And he's had 8 years of
wrestling experience too,
but he's definitely
more skilled on his feet.
And there is Sergio
Barterrelli getting the
fighters ready as we
await the opening battle.
And this fight is underway.
And Curry's going at him, he
is unable to stop the fight.
Barterrelli had to step in, bold.
Look at that, some serious cuts there.
The second that bell rings, you can just
look at some people and you can just tell
that they're scared to death.
I mean, you can see it in their eyes.
You can even smell it in their sweat.
Wow.
But you know, it isn't until the first
time I can put my hands on you and really
assert myself and the other
person that you can really feel
almost instantly if the person
is going to give in or not.
What happens next?
It's simple.
Am I going to hurt him before he hurts me?
And he happens to hurt me that I'm going
to hurt him two times as bad.
Because let me tell you
something, when you get
punched in the face, you
can have two reactions.
You can either cower away or you can want
to punish them or some for punching them.
But I developed a third way.
You know, if I get
kicked or if I get punched,
I'm going to something
different than punish you.
I'm going to physically impose my will on
you.
And you really feel when that
happens, when the person just
lets go and he told you what
there's going to be in your arms.
And that's a pretty powerful thing.
He's crazy because in the beginning,
I was just kind of having fun.
I was operating on this animal instinct
that just took over.
I'm going to try and explain it and maybe
this way, but it's kind of strange,
you know?
The whole thing felt very evolutionary.
When I wrestled in college, this is
something totally different.
Well, what do you mean?
Like the moment I felt that rush,
that first hit, I realized I was going to
be close to something that's almost
magical.
Wow.
You get to the point where you have to ask
yourself, like, would you stick your
finger in your palm's
cup, spread it out a little bit
more, just to win for making
you feel pain, would you?
I mean, I guess I would.
Of course, you move it in.
You know why?
Because winning is the best feeling there
is.
And keep in mind, this was a tournament
down in Brazil.
So if you won, you didn't go home.
No, you went on and you fought the next
guy, and then the next guy right after
that, and then the next guy, and then the
next guy.
So by the end, you felt like a god.
It's amazing.
It's incredible.
I mean,
nothing else in this world matters.
And it kind of might be the best feeling
in the world, you know?
Yeah.
And it's a feeling I didn't even know was
possible.
And fuck man, I'm not giving chills much
faith.
I'm just telling you about this.
He has experienced the Octagon.
You know, he's tough.
Super tough.
What is it that you think you're going to
bring to the stage?
Well, I think that I feel really good
about my cardiovascular level.
I feel great about my power, which I've
improved on.
But you know what?
It's like the difference between a
flashlight and a laser beam.
Wow.
That's awesome.
What do you mean by that?
You have to make sure that I'm 100%
concentrated on what I have to do.
Because if not, then my emotions will be
running around everywhere like a flashlight.
Does that make sense?
Yeah, I mean, think about it.
It applies to you and everybody else in
this world.
If we don't control
our emotions, our fears
and our anxieties,
we'll get the best of us.
You know what happens?
We get slapped around with emotions and we
can't have them.
That's right.
Hey, Kurt.
Get your ass out.
Thank you so much for your... Yeah,
thank you very much.
I appreciate you.
Great.
My man.
I see a heck of a difference in the shape
of the rain, all right?
It's a game.
It's a game.
First time in the Octagon.
I'm still in the same vein.
Yeah, guys, come on.
There's only been 14 of these five years.
Excuse me, Bowman?
Yeah, Mark VanderKammer.
Can I ask about your plans to take on
Bowman?
Oh, Bowman.
Um, Kurt?
Yeah.
Get him down early.
How's that happen?
And she up to the UFC.
They were kind of like the first in combat
sports.
Is that boxing?
Well, there's a little boxing in it.
Yeah, it's more like martial arts that
have been around for thousands of years
and we bring them all together to see
which one is the best.
So, I come from a wrestling background,
but I might fight a guy who comes from a
karate background or a guy who comes from
a boxing background.
Yeah, I have heard about this.
That's the bloody thing they're trying to
ban.
Yes, that's right.
That's right.
It is.
But I've got to tell you, the popularity
of the sport comes from the stereotype
that you're going to see the bloodiest and
the goryest sport you've ever seen.
I can't do that.
It bothers me.
It should bother a lot of people.
Do you hate each other when you fight?
Absolutely not.
No.
Sorry to interrupt Dr. Cortez's email.
Thank you so much.
It was great to talk to you.
Thank you.
It was great to talk with you,
too.
Yes.
What's up, little man?
I'm sorry.
He's kind of shy, but I think he wants
your honor back.
Sure, no problem.
What's your name?
His name is Convo.
But could you make it out to his brother
Murray, too?
No fighting.
Hey, Murray.
Hey, Raja.
How's it going?
How are you, man?
All right.
You must be a little jealous.
Yeah, I just flew in this morning.
Where'd you come from again?
Japan.
So UFC's now in Japan?
No, it's kind of like an NBA, ABA
situation.
Two different leagues.
This one's called Pride.
Why don't you take off your shirt?
Let me take a look.
Okay, so we're doing the usual.
We're sending your scripts over to
Safeway.
You know what?
I'm thinking this month.
I'm going to switch over to A to Z.
They handle my insurance much better.
Let's do that.
Okay.
Sure, yeah.
That's no problem.
I can switch the insurance over again.
You know what?
Let's not even deal with the insurance.
They are over at Safeway.
They're just such a pain in the butt.
Plus, it's easier for you.
I'll just pay out of pocket.
Are you sure?
Something's better.
Not a problem.
I don't get punched in the face with
nothing.
I'll pay out of pocket.
Not a problem.
Do you want me to throw this out?
Are you going to have this?
Use the skim milk, right?
Yeah.
I switched the whole milk last week.
Why didn't you tell me?
No, you've got to tell me these things.
I'm going to get it wrong if you don't
tell me.
How much banana did you put in?
Half a banana.
Half?
You changed that too.
What is it now?
It's actually one and a half.
I said not on the couch.
How many times do I see her?
She's destroying the couch.
This is expensive.
All right, come on.
Come on, come on, come on, come on.
You destroyed enough.
I don't know.
Oh, she sounds like a momma.
Come on, let her back up.
She can sit on me.
It
Was really nice of me to make my smoothie.
I mean it, thank you.
Shut your mouth.
No, I mean it, thank you.
Even though it was made with the wrong
milk, you didn't know the thing.
How does that feel?
It feels great.
Do you want some more?
Should you ask like that?
Yes, you can stretch me more.
Too much?
Never.
Too much?
No.
Too much?
No.
No.
Excuse
me.
I'd love to see the sunset.
Sure.
This...
was nothing at all.
But what I do...
I do.
The contract says... The
past contract says 3,300.
Remaining.
Remaining, yes, remaining.
So, 3,300 still remaining come to me.
So, one month, no contract, no money,
no more, this is it?
Yes, no contracts anymore.
No money.
That's it.
Am I speaking too fast?
No, of course.
I'm not speaking too fast.
Maybe my English is too fast.
I'm going to need more money.
But we have to discuss about this.
We have to discuss, yes?
No, no, not you.
I'm talking to my headquarters.
Not you.
You're going to speak to your
headquarters.
Yeah.
Okay.
It's okay.
I understand that.
But before I fight again, we should clear
this up.
We should have an understanding.
We should have an agreement, yes.
Before I fight again.
Yes.
Okay.
Just wait.
It's fair.
It's okay.
I got it.
I got the hope, yes.
So, how do you know Marker?
Marker and I go way back.
You know, we wrestled each other back in
You know, and so way back then I knew who
Marker was.
You know, we competed against each other,
but he's a buddy of mine.
Oh, so who started professional first?
I guess I did because I was a couple years
ahead of him.
Kind of got into that fighting game prior
to him.
He got in.
I was trying to help him now.
I was actually his first kind of trainer
and manager.
Oh.
Yeah.
It was fun times, but you know,
now we train together.
And he's coming to his own.
I mean, look what he's been doing.
I'm super proud of him.
And yeah, I couldn't be more proud.
Yeah.
Which one would you like to see?
The ball, please, with the gold.
The lawn?
Yes.
It is so artistic and very expensive.
It's beautiful.
Ok-k-sama, omega-takai?
Sorry, I don't understand.
I don't speak Japanese.
What did you say?
You have a good eye.
Ah, thank you.
I'll take you.
I'll take you.
You know what?
I'll take this too, please.
You're my girlfriend.
She loves colors.
I'll take you.
I'll take you.
You're right.
What do you think about your opponent?
He's a very famous fighter for having a
hard punch.
He has a hard punch?
It's probably going to be my toughest
fight.
Because of his experience.
But I have to fight a clean fight.
I have to fight a very technical fight if
I'm going to be victorious.
But we are human.
Sometimes we lose.
What do you think that would feel like?
Can you imagine that?
You know, I try not to let thoughts like
that answer my mind.
But if they do, I really wouldn't know
what to do with them.
Because I don't know what that's like.
I've never lost a fight.
Sorry, but that's the truth.
But can I ask you one more time?
I'm going to ask you another challenge.
Hypothetically speaking, if I lost...
I don't know.
I don't even respond to that.
Because I've never lost.
Thank you.
I mean, I'm trying to intellectualize it
with you.
But I just...
I can't.
We apologize if we get to waiting.
We'd like to start with the following
world changes.
The following options are now deemed to be
illegal.
Number one, biting.
Number two, I'm biting.
Number three, I'm biting.
Number three, I'm biting.
Number three, I'm biting.
And now,
in this position, me and Keith are both.
I'm sorry.
I would just like to make sure that we
understood correctly.
If the opponent is in a position
while his face is upward,
is it allowed for the person
standing to kick in the face?
Yes, that is okay.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Just be patient out there.
Have fun.
You need to keep boxing that.
Be patient, find your time, get them down,
do your thing.
You're going to have fun, I think.
So, come on.
Say it on.
I'm going to grab this one.
All right, buddy, I'm thinking like five
to ten, all right?
Yeah.
Hi.
Are you okay?
Why are you being so weird?
Your eyes look weird.
Come here.
Come here.
Okay.
You made me feel so fucking stupid coming
in here.
It's like you guys were talking shit or
something.
I fucking flew halfway across the globe.
You asked me to come.
I said thank you.
Oh, yeah?
And then you asked like a fucking dick in
front of your friend.
Don't call me next time.
Please don't come.
I'm lonely.
Fuck you.
I'm trying to focus.
It has nothing to do with you.
Can you say hello to me?
You don't even have time to say hello to
me.
I just don't want to fight.
Not now.
Please.
Can you hear if I punch you in the face?
Yes.
Punch me in the fucking face.
Could we communicate?
Punch me in the fucking face.
Punch me in the fucking face.
The biggest lie in my life.
Punch me in the fucking face.
Come in.
I'm so sorry.
May I ride you below downstairs?
Things have come with me.
Thank you.
You're out of fucking control.
I'm sorry.
This is a short clash of two giants and a
sport blast.
And I am really the only one expecting.
Of course, the only one expecting.
I'm gonna go for Missy, okay?
I would say two, but...
But Janssen being a face...
I'm talking about the current man,
Corinne.
Yeah, I don't know if that will get
us any... But I'll tell you one thing.
I'm gonna win.
Okay, I think I'm okay.
Some bumps and bruises.
You're not injured.
You'll heal up and leave the two tops.
Okay?
Yeah, that's right.
I'll heal up the week or two tops.
I need my hands out broken, my feet are
fine.
You don't wear this one tough motherfucker
though, huh?
I'll give him that.
Yeah.
All right guys, I'm gonna run outside.
I'll be back here.
Yeah.
Hey, Colman, can I just talk to you?
Yeah.
I just wanna know if he's gonna be okay.
I've never seen him like this
before, so... He should be fine.
Okay.
And he seemed okay, right?
Yeah, I mean, I just...
I don't know, I like knew it.
Before he stepped in the ring
and he just... What do you mean?
Well, he just wasn't serious, I think,
and...
about the fight, like
the past two weeks have
been out drinking and
stuff and praying and...
You never brought that daughter?
To you.
To me, yeah.
Why?
He doesn't need to be drinking two weeks
before...
I'm not his trainer, and I'm not a
fighter, and he seemed fine about it.
He seemed fine.
And I don't know if he ever thought this
was possible, that he would lose,
and I didn't think it was possible.
All right, I get it.
Just be there for him, okay?
We have decided to call this fight with
the whole no-contest.
No-contest?
We're very happy to have you back here
Friday, yes.
Thank you.
Thank you.
What did they say?
They decided to call it a no-contest.
That's awesome.
That's awesome.
Why are you so, so sad?
I'm not sad.
It's just, I don't do that for a
no-contest.
I want the decision.
You know, I mean, it's just, I'm out
there, I'm sacrificing everything,
literally, you know.
I see.
I'm sacrificing everything out there from
the reward of the end.
Right.
It's the high from that thing that I do,
the thing that I just did out there.
It's a high that, there's no other high
like it in the world.
I can only imagine, I can see it, I can see
it in you when you're doing it, you know.
It's 40,000 people when they're cheering
you on.
I mean, that's orgasmic.
Yeah, I know.
No, I'm not kidding.
I'm not kidding.
It's like, I'm talking about the highest
of highs.
And two men out there
competing against each
other, and it's only
us, and it's so raw.
But you've got to have the competition,
and you have that feeling, you fought,
you had the feeling, but you don't seem
happy about it.
I'm trying to explain it to you,
but you just keep talking.
You just keep talking over me.
No, I'm trying to understand what you're
saying, and I'm trying to support you.
But only because I'm trying to tell you
exactly what happened.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Hey, brother.
How are you?
Oh, you okay?
Sorry.
Definitely.
Let me see.
Nice.
How many stitches?
Four.
Four stitches?
Four.
How else?
The body feel okay?
A little bit of the knee.
A little bit of the knee.
You know why?
A lot of my head.
I'm sorry.
No, no, no, it's okay.
It's totally okay.
Tell them it's natural, natural reaction.
My head was down there.
My face is down there.
Let's all get a picture.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, let's do it together.
Let's do it again.
Let's all get in.
Take this picture for me.
Thank you.
Look at you.
Do the best one.
Do the best one.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Great fight.
This is cold.
Cold in heat?
This is heat.
Heat, okay.
Three?
Three?
No, just one.
Really, just one?
Just one.
Do you have any stronger pain medication?
Pain medication?
Honey, I don't think they do that.
Do they have these?
They've got everything.
Like narcotics, opiates?
No, no, no, no.
Why not?
You must... certification.
Certification?
Yes, yes.
Permission?
Let's just come.
It's okay.
Just take what they have.
We have a permission.
You give permission for me?
Thank you.
No, no, it's too late.
Yes.
No, no.
What do you have for me?
It's strong.
I have a...
Advil.
Advil?
Advil?
Thank you.
Thank you.
Dawn, would you like handing them out for
candy?
Thank you.
Hey, Joan.
Hey, it's Mark.
Yeah, I'm great.
How are you doing?
Great.
I'm calling because I
know Dr. Rob was going
to write that prescription
for Voltaren for me.
Yeah, but Voltaren, as a pill,
it's a little hard on my tummy.
Yeah, and I know that you
guys can give me the injection,
but you don't want to
see me in there every day.
So what I was hoping
is if Dr. Rob can write a
prescription, that's a
little better than Voltaren.
That's a little stronger too as well.
Oh, great.
Yeah, that would be great.
So whenever he gets back in the office,
just have him give me a call.
I'll be here.
I'm feeling really good.
I appreciate it.
You know, like a day without pain is like
a day without sunshine.
Yeah.
I'm not going to get any better this week.
Yeah.
I know.
I can't keep coming out and finding you
like this, Mark.
It's just...
What do you mean?
You keep telling me you're going to quit
and then come out.
Maybe I just need to, you know, just
have to get through this, this moment.
Yeah, fine.
What do you want from me?
Do you want me just to pretend that
everything's fine?
Oh, what do you mean?
You don't look like this.
I don't look like this.
I just want you to feel like, oh,
that's all.
What do you mean?
You look like what?
You keep telling me we're going to quit
and then come out.
We aren't going to take a hike.
We're going to go today.
You don't even hide it from me anymore.
You keep coming into the bathroom and
seeing your shit everywhere.
It's okay.
It's okay.
It's just getting bad.
It's getting crazy.
No, it's insane.
And you need to get serious.
I am serious.
What do you mean?
Because I don't even know what this person
is trying to say.
I'm serious.
I'm going through this.
What are you, going
through the house looking
to find stuff just to
get me in trouble?
No.
Somebody stop treating like a fucking
child.
How about that?
Stop acting like one I wouldn't have to.
Like you, you lost a fight.
Big deal.
Just get over it.
You want to fight?
Don't drink that special cup.
You ready?
Looks like the morning.
Okay, okay, okay.
The winner is Daddy.
Fought a tough opponent.
My toughest jet.
Feels good to be in the wind column again.
And after this painting, I'm going to give
my girl a new playhouse.
And a bike.
And hold on.
Here, walk me through everything from the
beginning.
I think I did too much and then I couldn't
wake him up.
I found him on the ground.
And then I was like shaking him.
Is he alive?
He's alive, but I didn't know he knew at
first.
Oh, fucking God, okay.
I know.
Calm down, calm down.
Okay, I need you to come and help me,
okay?
I'm going to get on the first flight out,
alright?
I'm going to help you.
I will be there as soon as I can.
First flight.
What's he doing?
He's not okay.
He's awake though.
Yeah.
Careful.
What's going on, man?
That's what he is.
What's up, man?
He's like for sore eyes.
Jesus Christ.
What do I mean?
He's looking a little rough.
You're not going to lie?
Oh, man.
You should see the soap in this place,
man.
It's like fucking glue.
I don't even kind of see it.
I know, man.
It's just doing a number on my hair,
you know?
Yeah.
Man, you look good, man.
Thank you.
So, man, is this sick or something?
Yeah, I got sick.
I got sick and it was pretty unbelievable.
It was pretty bad.
That's the right word.
It was bad.
So what happened?
Can you give me the whole story?
I was on the floor and I couldn't wake up.
And then Dawn came in and she was trying
to wake me up.
Again?
That's weird.
It's fine.
Keep going, though.
Yeah, yeah.
No, I don't ever... I know that.
I know that.
So then Dawn called 911 and then the
paramedics came in.
And then they couldn't wake me up either.
And then they put me in the ambulance.
And then they were...
I was kind of like in this weird altered
state.
Like I was aware of where I was and I
could kind of see things.
A little blurry, but I could hear
everything.
So my acuity was pretty good.
They were asking me questions.
I got a few of the questions wrong a
little bit.
Like, who was the president?
They said, who's the president?
What'd you say?
Ronald Reagan.
You fucking believe that?
I mean, shit, let's say that anyway.
I would say that even on a good day I was
home.
I'm like, you guys can't ask.
That's when I realized, like, it's kind of
unfair, you know, the way they were.
Hey.
Yeah.
Listen.
Just stop, all right?
Please.
Hey, you're good.
Look, I didn't come out here because I
love a famous dude, all right?
Look, I came out here because I want to
see you get better.
You can't keep doing this to yourself.
I'm so sorry.
It's me.
You don't have to apologize, okay?
I'm one of your best friends in the world,
right?
And I'm here because I love you,
okay?
Come here.
Come here.
I fucking love you, man.
What's up?
I don't want to die.
Hey, look at me.
You're not going to die, all right?
Look at me.
I can't.
We're all in this together, all right?
There's tons of people that love you.
It's got to start with you, okay?
And you got this, all right?
All right, I know, I know.
I know.
Look at me.
You know I can't.
I'm so no more alone.
If you can't come around,
at least don't ever.
Don't be cruel
to a heart that's true.
It's something that I might have said.
Thank you for having me today.
I have a little bit strange question for
you.
Okay.
Are you okay to fight without your friend?
Mark Gurr?
Yes, Mark Gurr.
Yeah, I've been worried about him for
quite a while now.
You know, just as a friend.
I know your feelings.
But I think that loss to Igor,
or whatever you want to call it,
the no contest, I think that was the best
thing that could have happened to him.
I feel like he's going to come back a
better version of himself.
You know, and I know he wants to be here.
He loves you guys.
And he's distraught.
He can't make it.
So what make you keep him motivated?
I mean, a lot of people tell me I should
retire, you know, and give it up.
But I got a family, you know.
And there's a lot worse ways to make
living, you know.
So I'm looking forward to Sunday.
I think it's going to be a good one.
So not only is Mark Coleman here without
the support of his friend Mark Gurr,
who had to drop out of his
own fight here due to health
reasons, but he is also on
an uphill battle against time.
After his recent losses, you have to ask
yourself, is this the end of the road for
Mark Coleman, or will he extend his career
to just one more time?
In
This place and my set...
There's no way I can get out of here.
There's no way.
On the inside, you don't feel.
..
It doesn't move on the inside?
It moves, but it's moving so fast that you
can't even feel it.
I really don't want to go on the ride with
her, but the center part there,
that's the thing that stays still,
right?
Can I stand in there, in the middle part?
In the center part?
Yes.
Sometimes I'd be a serious liability
issue.
Where would you recommend I stand?
You don't want to get sick on the ride?
I would suggest you don't go on the ride,
because you can't handle it.
Well, that's not
the way it works.
Right now it steals water and it ruins the
integrity from the larger arms.
I'm sorry, I didn't realize it was such a
big deal.
It's just a plant.
It's not just a plant, it's just a world
of cactus.
It's hard to grow like that.
Can I have that knife?
You make a really great father,
you know that?
It's very nice of you to say it.
And I mean it,
but... That's true.
Well, thank you.
I'm just not ready.
I don't know why you keep bringing that
up.
It's like you keep forcing it.
I'm not forcing it, I was
just saying you have
great qualities and you
make great dad, that's all.
Why'd you bring it up?
To be nice.
Well, it's not nice, because you keep
making me say no.
You already know how I feel about that.
Look, I love kids.
But I'm always gone.
My mind is preoccupied with everything
else that's going on.
You keep bringing this up about having
kids.
I don't know what you want me to do.
I look around and I'm already doing
everything already.
That's not true.
It is true.
I'm already doing everything around here.
Understand?
Just don't have the mental space.
Have a kid and I'm sorry.
I don't like telling you that.
I was just trying to be nice.
I know.
Okay?
I know.
And it's very nice.
And I appreciate it.
It's just not the right time.
Really, dog?
Look at all the leaves.
Are you kidding me, Mark?
That was this morning.
I know, but... I'll do it.
So, how is it been?
It's been really fucking annoying to be
honest with you.
It's just... he's on this whole high horse
take and I thought I could handle it.
And I don't know if I can, because being
on a completely different fucking horse
now... is all they
can talk about, so...
When he was using, he
was like tender and sweet and
he relied upon me and
now it's like... He's distant.
It's hard.
It's hard to know and he's like shitty and
picking on me and...
Well... I think I missed taking care of
it, you know?
Yeah.
Oh my God.
Oh, right for you?
Oh my God.
Your tongue on the roof of your mouth.
Yes, yes.
It works.
Happy birthday to you.
Happy birthday to you.
Happy birthday dear Jacqueline.
Happy birthday to you.
Go
Back to their place.
The place was the worst.
I feel like I can
guarantee I won't get a headache anymore.
No, I'm just out of rehab.
Please, really?
It's like I didn't do it in front of you.
No, but you're just not being nice to me
right now.
You're not being very nice to me.
What does that even mean?
I didn't do anything.
You didn't judge me and you just got your
shit together 21 days.
It doesn't make you any better than me.
I'm sorry, I didn't mean it in that way.
Mark, it's just because you've got a
problem with something doesn't mean that
everyone in the world has the same problem
that you do, okay?
So just give me a break.
You wouldn't understand.
Who are you calling?
Hey, Jeff, it's Mark.
Oh, it's just Mark, sir.
Okay, you know what?
You're not funny anymore.
You're not funny anymore.
You're just fucking down and pale.
Hold on, hold on one second.
What are you doing?
There's a lot of difficult time in my
mind.
Please, please, I need you to understand.
I do understand.
I do understand.
But then you go and call Jeff and then you
just shut me out and it really hurts my
feelings and I'm here to talk to you,
okay?
You just gotta let me in.
You don't need Jeff.
This is what I'm talking about.
You did this up and down.
I don't know who I'm talking to.
How the fuck can you say?
Your behavior is just so unhealthy for me
right now.
Please, Todd.
You know what?
Fuck you, Mark.
Just go fuck yourself.
Jeff, can you hear what I'm dealing with
now?
I'm so uncomfortable with my own health.
I don't know if you had a chance to hear
what she was saying when she was screaming.
Yeah.
The reason it is is that you're fucking
jealous that I can still go out and get
drinks with my friends and it's completely
fine.
And you wish you could do that.
Well, stop trying to pretend that I'm the
one with the fucking problem.
Hope you and Jeff are real fucking happy
together.
You're gone?
Gone?
Today, we are happy to
have our greatest fighters
in one room together
for this first conference.
Please give a round of applause for them.
We will be holding a tournament over two
events leading to a championship fight
that will result in the number one fighter
in all of the world.
And also we regret that we disappointed
Japan last time with the cancellation of
the main card of anything in U.S.
budget marked card.
We have received much word that this will
not happen again.
And he has asked for some time to address
his Japanese friends regarding his
inclusion in this special tournament.
Hello, and thank you to everyone for
allowing me to be here today.
I'd like to apologize first and foremost
to the pride organization and staff.
You have been extremely
understanding to me during
my time of dealing with
my personal struggles.
And finally to the Japanese people,
the Japanese fans, I know that you've been
questioning whether I am the fighter that
you thought that I was.
And one of my biggest regrets in life is
the answer to that question.
I wasn't.
And I'm ashamed about that.
But I promise you that I'm going to work
even harder to make this up to you.
Thank you.
Adagato.
Look what the cat dragged in.
Barbito!
Barbito!
Man, good to see you.
I guess we've got some work to do.
I'm just kidding with you.
Take a look at this.
Oof.
I haven't been taken away with,
so I... I took everything away.
I mean, Coleman's been working on striking
and his kicking.
The motors told him that they don't want
to see any more grappling and wrestling.
What does she knock out?
She said they want to see people get
knocked out.
Well, look how he beat Bugano.
Knocked him out.
Right?
I mean, an answer actually is going to do
exactly the same thing to you.
He's going to come for you and he wants to
knock you out.
You're just going to move backwards,
wait for the right moment, shoot him,
take his ass down, and then you just hit
him in the face like this.
So no striking?
No.
No striking.
Well, you need to know striking in order
to get him to the ground.
But, come on, man, you know it's can't go
on, right?
Five friends by knockout, five friends by
submission, and then last year,
on my freaking birthday, who won the Abu
Dhabi combat football championship?
You did.
He's not going to take you down.
He saw you beat four amazing grapplers.
Nobody can even close to submitting him.
So trust me, this guy is not going to take
you to the ground.
Ready?
I think so.
You think so?
Come on, Mark, he has no answer.
I think so.
Come on, are you ready?
Yes.
Ah, don't you look at the side of this,
you're on my window!
He's back!
Actually, the left way can't say,
it's still a little bit more than yours.
So, keep rest.
Okay, here we go, two.
Good, again.
Four.
Good.
Up, cut straight.
Nice.
Very good.
Good.
Now switch.
There we go.
You see, stop playing with that.
I feel it.
Good.
That's how you should feel.
Okay, okay, Mark, Mark, Mark, Mark,
Mark, Mark.
You're looking where you're going to hit.
Right?
I'm going to hit you in the head?
You're going to defend it.
Now, so what I do, I hit the body and hit
him hard, because he needs to defend it.
He needs to respect him.
To the body.
To the body.
Same order.
To the head.
But you see, you don't look at the head.
So, you hit the head.
Then you go...
That's okay.
He's having a heart attack.
He's going to call 911 right now.
That's my freakin' cousin there.
Did you hear him?
No, it's messed up my career.
No, it's freakin' just going to go on for
an hour and a half.
I know there's a million, many times.
Isn't this our best one?
Yeah.
I'm not using it.
I swear to God.
This is over.
I don't give a shit doing anything.
I don't give a shit.
Five seconds, all your pain has come your
way.
Just breathe.
Oh, dude.
Oh, dude, I feel like a plant.
What are you fighting about, dude?
Just get used to it.
Now
I know why you're always sweating.
You're always sweating.
Ooh, this is weird.
Just breathe.
If it's not.
And now, it is here.
So I face this final curtain.
My friend, I'll say it clear.
I'll stay like him.
And I'm rich and certain.
I live like a school.
I travel deep and I read my way.
Oh, much more than this.
I did it my way.
I had a few.
But I've got too few to imagine.
I did what I had to do.
I saw it through without intention.
Each charted course each can stand on the
ground.
One
class I'm really excited about is the
clash between Mark Kerr and Ensign Inouye.
Wrestling vs.
Jiu-Jitsu.
That's going to be a great one,
boss.
It's going to be a super exciting fight.
And I'll tell you why, because last time
Mark Kerr wasn't in the best shape.
This time, though, he came back to me and
you know as well as I do.
Once you acquired a skill set of mixed
martial arts, I think that endurance is
the most important aspect of mixed martial
arts.
So he can go to the next one.
Let's hope so.
One thing everybody's been
talking about is the potential
collision between the two
Americans in this tournament.
Boss, have you spoken to
either Kerr or Coleman of fighting
such a good friend for a
life-changing amount of money?
That's a super intense question,
Steven.
I know, I have not.
But I can only imagine they're deep in
each other's heads right now.
Coleman, did you hear this?
What page?
Seven.
I got you mid-breath.
Yeah, I look exhausted.
All right, go to five.
It was a great one to make cake.
Oh, wanna have some fun?
What do you mean?
Come on.
Yeah?
Yeah.
This
is the first round of the
two-round Grand Prix
to crown the greatest
fighter in the world.
I gotta say, it's so great
to see Mark Kerr knock out
their smiling amongst this
highly elite group of fighters.
Please rise for the Star-Spangled Banner.
But this is his first real test against
the Dean.
Can he still fight with everything he's
been through?
And he's someone who could really win this
whole tournament.
That was the May 1st, 2000.
The winner of the tournament walks away
with a whopping $200,000.
Life-changing money.
Now, that's no joke.
Japanese theory.
And it's called, like, a kid so shitty.
Or a kid so whatever.
They say when you repair something,
it makes it more beautiful.
And it
has some history, so I just wanted to fix
it.
I don't know, it's like, you were supposed
to use gold, but I had crazy glues.
Crazy glues.
Crazy glues?
I think it's the point that it's supposed
to look kind of bad.
No, no, no, it doesn't look bad.
It doesn't look bad.
It's beautiful.
It's the most meaningful thing anyone's
ever done.
And I love you.
So, tomorrow... what was it?
Tomorrow I figured I'd work it out for
about an hour or so back at the hotel,
and then we'll hit the road, drive back to
Phoenix.
So, what are you going to do next week?
What are we going to do?
Who's going to do it for you?
I'll figure it out.
Listen, you really believe it's a good
idea?
Yeah, I know what
I'm doing right now.
You ready for me?
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm going to pull the car up,
okay?
Okay.
You done?
Yeah.
What do you think?
You're a big baby girl.
He's right here.
Honey, why is Coleman calling you?
Did you call him?
I was probably just calling to check up on
me.
The boss also called you, which I thought
was kind of weird.
It's not weird.
They're my friends.
I just thought it was funny that they're
both calling you.
Well, it's not funny.
They're my friends.
It's perfectly normal for them to call me
and just to check up on me.
They just called you out of the blue.
Don, I haven't been fighting a couple of
weeks.
They're probably just calling to see how I
feel about it.
That makes sense.
So they weren't calling
to make sure you were
in a cave and bring
me to Japan with you?
You listened to my answer.
Yeah, I did.
I did because I'm not hearing shit from
you, so do you agree with them?
What are you talking about?
Say it, that you don't want me to go with
you to Japan.
I'm not going to say that.
Why?
Just say it.
I just need like a couple of days.
That's it.
I just need two days.
That's it.
Just to focus.
You're saying I can't help you focus?
No, I'm not saying that at all.
I'm just saying, Don, I need you to
understand.
This is a big deal for me.
It's the biggest fight ever.
I just need a couple of days.
That's it.
Just a couple of days to focus.
Paz is saying I just
need to... I got it.
I got it.
I got it.
You know what?
I don't fucking get it.
What do you get, Don?
I don't fucking get it because I do
everything for you around here, okay?
I book your appointments.
I cook for you.
I clean your fucking underwear.
I know you do.
I thank you in the past.
And I appreciate everything you do.
This is a crazy tournament.
This is the biggest fight of my life.
Just say you don't want me to go.
I'm not going to say that.
It confuses the situation.
I'm not going to say that.
You just look me in the eye and you tell
me you hate me.
And you don't want me to go.
I'm not going to say that.
I'm not going to say that.
And how many times do I have to rewrite my
boundaries with you?
This is so fucking exhausting.
I'm sorry.
I just need you to let me in.
I feel so excluded from everything.
And I'd love to know about your fighting.
And I'd love to know about your training.
And how are you feeling in your body?
But you don't want to tell me anything.
Oh, no.
Don't do that.
Do not do that.
Don't act like all of a sudden you give
two shits about my body and my training.
And the only thing you care about is
yourself.
Really?
Inserting yourself into everything.
Yes, that's it.
Always about you.
This is everything.
This is about you.
And all you give me
is your shitty fucking
leftovers and you keep
telling me it's dinner time.
I was asking, did you read that one of
your little fucking books?
Oh, fuck you, asshole.
Yeah, I did.
That's how I feel.
Read it's how you feel.
You want to know how I feel?
You know what sucks?
And what's not nice?
Is that I'm working my ass off trying to
stay sober around here.
Sure, okay.
Yeah, maybe I'll call your sponsor.
Don't fucking do that.
You stop.
Don't fucking work my program like that.
Don't you fucking work my program like
that.
You want to hit me?
Let's go.
Come on.
Let's fucking go.
Mr. Mr. Cuckett in control.
I don't know what to do.
I'm working my ass off.
To make a life changing amount of money.
And what are you doing?
I just get out of rehab.
And you're out till four o'clock in the
morning with your friends.
You're drinking.
You're eating Advil at fucking two thirty
in the afternoon.
You think that's nice to me?
You think that's encouraging?
No, it's rude.
And it's selfish.
And it's fucked up.
And that's why you're not going to Japan.
I knew it was you.
I knew it was your fucking idea.
You knew it.
Yeah, of course you did.
Of course.
Because it's all about you.
All about you.
You don't care about me.
You don't care about my feelings.
You just care about yourself.
And your dumb fucking friends.
And your stupid fucking fight.
My stupid fucking fighting.
That's paid for this fucking house.
My stupid fucking fighting.
That's paid for the car.
Paid for that fucking outfit.
But that's how you like it.
You just want to know everything.
That's on you.
All these insecurities don't are on you.
So whatever's going on in that fucked up
head of yours, that's an inside job.
I don't think you know a damn thing about
me.
You don't know a damn thing about me.
You know that, Mark?
I think it's best if you leave.
We're having a party.
Can't do a party.
No, because everybody's coming over and
everyone's excited.
And I was really excited about it.
And I feel like we could just talk about
this tomorrow.
And I don't have to come to Japan or
anything.
It's okay.
Don't go in the room, pack a bag,
and get out.
Beneath the city, to our street.
Sold in junk running through our nights so
tender.
In a bedroom locked, and whispered in
sound.
Don't.
In the future, we may... Don't.
Don't.
Don't.
Don't.
Don't.
Don't.
I'll be here.
Open the door.
Maybe we're going to talk this through.
I need you to look me in the eyes just so
you can see what I'm feeling.
Don't.
Where's the girl who said something?
You're not.
You took her hand off me.
You took the hand off me.
I wasn't going to do anything.
I'm just pretending where they're from.
The doctor's going to assess her mental
health.
And we'll be able to go to Sierra.
You'd be able to see
her, but after a medical
doctor actually come in
there and assess her first.
We tried.
Would you like Fushita or Marker?
Yeah, that's a very difficult question.
I don't think I can answer that one.
I totally understand.
I'd say, what if Marker does win?
Would it be hard for you to fight such a
good friend of yours?
Yeah, of course.
But look, if it happens, it happens,
right?
I'm going to give him my all.
He's going to do the same.
And we'll see what happens.
Okay.
Thank you very much.
Yes, sir.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Appreciate it.
Mark told me he enters
the finals off the heels of a
decisive victory against
Sataki in the first round.
Given his recent losses
before that match, this could
be Coleman's last chance
at this elusive championship.
He has a tough match to have in his pocket
up here.
A promising fighter looking to make a name
for himself.
But a victory here tonight would pit him
against the winner of Curve vs.
Fushita later this evening.
Coleman's trainer has told
us that he has been working
on his boxing game recently
and that we should hold him.
Something tells me I might take a wreck
and
he'll win against one of the toughest
fighters in
this in any way similar to the man I know
he is.
Mark,
can you hear me?
Do you know what happened to you?
Yeah.
You did.
Do you know where you are right now?
Yeah.
Yeah, you need a few stitches.
Is it bad?
No, it's not horrible.
No.
I'm just gonna go over here and get
everything ready.
Alright.
It'll be a few minutes.
You just sit tight here.
Yeah.
Okay.
Alright.
I hate to do this, brother, but I gotta go
back to the commentator.
Thank you.
Thank you for everything.
You're welcome, brother.
I'm sorry.
No, no, no.
Don't try that.
Hey, don't.
Don't.
Sorry.
Hey, he's okay.
He's alright.
I got a gash here.
I got a stitch there.
It's clearing up.
It's clearing my door.
No, no, no, by the way.
What's going on, buddy?
What's going on, man?
How you doing?
You know.
You alright?
Yeah, a little bang up.
Nothing worried about nothing.
Whatever.
Let it go.
Happens.
It's one night.
We've all been there.
You heard about Vegeta, right?
He's out.
He's not coming back.
He's injured.
Yeah, I know.
I know.
That's all he used to win, now,
Colt.
For real?
For real.
Yeah, Muddy.
It's all yours.
Go get it.
I'll fucking get it.
All yours.
Appreciate it.
Good night, Muddy.
We'll bring it up.
I'll get it done.
Someone told me he was coming into this
fight.
I was looking fresh and never.
After his good friend, Markura,
inadvertently, did him a favor after
Fujita injured his knees in their fight
together.
The question is...
How are you?
I'm good.
Thank you.
How's your day so far?
So far so good.
Yours?
That's good.
It's gonna get real busy.
Mark and Dawn reuntited after his loss and
got married in las vegas ten days later.
They were married for six years,
and have a son together.
Mark retired from fighting in 2009.
Kerr and Coleman were some of the
earliest pioneers of the sport.
Todays star fighters can earn millions
and everyone knows their names.
His name is Mark Kerr.
See you guys.
