Timeless Love (2025) Movie Script

I'll always love you
I'll always love you
We're two worlds apart
But deep in my heart
you'll always remain
[Mrs Anderson] All right ladies.
I still see you
I still hear you
Hello Aimme.
What's in my mind
brings tears to my eyes
But life to the memories
And nothing as sweet
as the kiss you gave to me
Promising us a gift from
above, a lifetime of love
Well, good morning.
What an awful thing to say.
Would you like a cup of coffee?
Poured in my eyes, it'll work faster.
Oh my goodness.
Had fun last night?
Here you go, it's not
Starbucks, but it's better.
What I would give for a
hazelnut latte with almond milk.
Who knew that almonds gave milk?
You know, when I was your age,
we didn't have all those fancy ingredients.
Mocha latte, poopy, potty, whatever.
We had cream, we had sugar, we had black.
Hey, I liked my coffee.
Honey, your coffee
is nothing but a cup of future diabetes.
Diabetes with caffeine.
Eat your breakfast, it'll do you good.
There's enough cholesterol
on this plate to kill a bull.
When I was your age, we
didn't know all the hazards
of glucose or lactose intolerance.
We just ate what was put before us.
Yeah, but you were never
worried about cholesterol
when you were younger?
Never, we just ate all
the fatty foods we could.
We ate it with relish
until our hearts exploded.
Seriously?
Okay, okay, I'm gullible, what can I say?
Oh, yes you are.
(motor roars)
(thud)
(bang)
[Robby] Good morning, ladies.
Good morning, Robby.
I didn't hear you knock.
It's because I didn't, I never do.
I know.
Did you change your hair, Mrs. A?
Thank you for noticing.
Of course.
Going with the cave woman look today?
I like it.
Oh, thank you.
Hmm, this is good.
Robby?
Huh?
Would you like me to
get you a plate of breakfast?
Oh, no, I'm fine, thank you.
It's really good though.
What kind of eggs are these?
Chicken.
Hmm, it's good.
Nice hat.
Thank you.
(mellow jazz music)
All right, we're off, grandma.
Well, you have a good day, honey.
Okay.
Oh, oh, Lauren, before I forgot,
can you come home right after class?
I, I really could use your help
to get all the Christmas
decorations down from the attic,
if that's okay.
Can you?
[Lauren] Oh, grandma.
You don't remember what happened last year?
What?
When the squirrel
got in the Christmas tree
and the whole thing came down?
(baubles shatter)
We don't want a repeat of that.
I don't do squirrels.
Thanks, good to know.
What, who knows if that
squirrel's coming back?
But anyway,
I need my Christmas
decorations down here, please.
It is the 21st century.
Yes, and?
72% of people have said
that they hate Christmas
and that they're just do it
because everyone else does.
Did you make that up?
I did.
Oh God, you know that isn't true.
Listen, Christmas will be
celebrated in this house,
and I'm just asking for your help
to get those decorations
down for me, please.
Oh, come on, Lauren.
How can you say no to these
big, beautiful grandma eyes?
Don't touch me.
Okay.
So what are we looking for now?
Are you serious?
I grew up in a Jewish household.
All we had was Hanukkah and guilt.
Well, just look for stuff
that's fun and, and festive.
What is this stuff?
This is so random.
Ooh.
Aw.
[Robby] Sorry.
Oh, this is red.
What is this?
(mellow music)
How about this?
Oh my gosh.
Come here and look at this.
[Robby] This looks pretty festive.
Look, it's nice.
What is it?
It's grandma's journal.
[Robby] Who?
Her journal, about grandpa.
[Mrs. Anderson] "This
summer in our small town"
has been disappointingly uneventful.
Let's just say it's lacking
the adventure I had hoped for.
None of the boys I've
met seemed to understand
my depth of love for my God.
"Really leaving me hoping
for some more connection."
Oh my goodness gracious.
Come on, honey, we're
gonna be late for church.
Oh, we'll be all right.
Mama's already there,
and she took the boys
with her to Sunday school.
Where's Aimme?
Oh, no worry, she'll be
along, she never misses Church.
Aimme.
I don't know where that girl's mind is.
[Father] She's young, we were young once.
[Mother] We were.
Hey, wait, I'm coming.
I told you I was coming.
So I'll cherish the old rugged cross
Till my trophies at last I lay down
I will cling to the old rugged cross
And exchange it some
day for a crown for a crown
Thank you, please be seated.
Now, before we begin our lesson today,
I'd like to take this
opportunity to introduce you
to the newest member
of our little community.
Please welcome Albert Anderson.
(congregation applauds)
Albert comes to us from
the seminary in the city,
and he's here today to meet
and greet our friends and family
and continue his education
and relationship with God.
Welcome, Albert.
Thank you, sir. (Congregation applauds)
[Mrs Anderson] "And when I saw Albert"
step up to that pulpit for the first time,
oh, he took my breath away.
"I just felt the spirit
inside me just spark."
Welcome, young fellow, welcome.
We think you'll like it here, we all do.
Absolutely.
You know, Albert is
looking for room and board.
Oh, he is?
Really?
Yes, I have good hands and a strong back.
You know anything about farming?
I know about hard work.
You know, you could use
some help around the farm.
- Yeah.
- That'd be wonderful.
Yeah, okay, we'll take you on.
Thank you, sir.
You can bunk down in
the basement with the boys.
Okay, you, you met my wife.
Hi, very nice to meet you.
These are our boys,
Richard, Toby and little Paul.
You'll hear him before you see him.
My daughter, Aimme.
Where did she go?
I don't know, I don't
know where she got off too.
You'll meet her later, welcome again.
Thank you, sir.
(mellow music)
What's up, Mrs. A?
(coughs) Oh my God.
How can you drive that smoking beast?
Does it even have seat belts?
I know that she does not have airbags.
Francesca can hear you, this is my baby.
Oh, your baby.
How did you guys make out
with the Christmas decorations?
Are we all good?
Yeah, about that.
[Mrs Anderson] What?
So they're kind of old,
and rusted, and broken,
but, but, but we could go to the store.
Oh, no, no, out of the question.
Honey, my decorations mean the world to me.
They're full of memories,
and store bought is out of the question.
It's all plastic and tinsel.
Christmas is all run by corporations now,
and there's no memories.
I will not have store-bought
decorations, absolutely not.
Grandma, there's no salvaging these.
Like, we need new ones.
I got it, we're gonna make
our own Christmas decorations.
Oh, come on Robby.
No, we can't, we can't do that.
Yes, we absolutely can.
So you guys need to run to the craft store,
get all the supplies.
I used to do this when I
was a little girl, I love it.
Please say yes, yes, yes.
[Lauren] Yes.
Say yes.
Yes.
Okay, good idea.
(mellow music)
(Aimme chuckles)
[Father] So, what do you think?
You got it, is it tight?
[Albert] Yes, sir, looks good to me.
All right, that should do it then.
Well done young man.
Thank you.
So what do you think of the farm,
taking care of you so far?
I love it here.
Never gets old... lemonade.
It's so beautiful.
Oh, (indistinct) yes.
Thank you.
Oh, I would love some, thank you.
Yeah.
I say the boys' got enough there, Aimme.
Oh, I, I'm, I'm sorry, I...
Is she all right?
I have no idea, can I have
some of your lemonade?
Of course.
Ice cream turned out really good, huh?
It did.
It's all in the wrist.
Elbow grease and patience.
[Albert] Is that right?
Something we all need to learn.
So, Albert, how is the dessert?
Wonderful.
It's been a while since I've
had a home-cooked meal.
The food at the seminary is
more inclined to feed your soul
rather than your stomach.
We definitely didn't have ice cream,
and especially not homemade.
Oh, wonderful.
All right.
So why become a pastor?
I didn't really have a choice, you know?
I heard the calling.
This is a path God placed before me,
and I'm just excited to
see where he takes me.
So where would you like to go?
Well, that's up to the Lord, ma'am.
But I hope he blesses me
with a community like this.
I've always been partial to small towns.
He could get sent to another country.
Like Africa.
Or China
Or Antarctica.
Or Russia.
Okay, okay, that's enough.
It could be, but God's will be done.
(mellow music)
What?
Sure looks beautiful, ma'am.
Aw, thank you so much.
My grandmother taught me how to knit.
She did a good job.
Looks like you're outta yarn though.
Lemme go grab some, I
saw some in the cupboard.
Oh, you know what?
It's okay, I'll get it.
Absolutely not, I'll be right back.
Okay, thank you.
Yes ma'am.
Wade, he is such a good
boy, I like having him around.
(mellow jazz music)
Oh, sorry.
Wait, don't go.
I don't know.
Come on, come sit.
I don't wanna intrude.
Intrude?
This is your house.
If anything, I'm the one who's intruding.
Please.
Fine.
Homework?
It's summer.
That's right, sorry.
It's a journal.
I like to write down my
thoughts and feelings.
I like to think that God
looks at it while I'm sleeping.
It's stupid, I know.
Not at all.
Any fellowship you have
with God is a good one.
Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Sure is nice out here.
Yeah.
It's not so bad for a place
in the middle of nowhere.
Don't be mistaken, this is
far from the middle of nowhere.
I mean, this is your home
that makes it the center of your world.
You're gonna miss it when
it all becomes a memory.
What's your family like?
Well, I miss 'em every day.
My dad, similar to yours, works hard.
My mom, you know, as loving as can be,
but I always kind of got
my guidance from God.
Hmm, yeah.
God alone.
I feel like he's the only
one I can trust, you know?
Yeah, do you have any siblings?
I do not.
What's it like to live in the city?
It's a lot busier for one.
A lot of faces, a lot of people.
Yeah.
It's not as peaceful.
Yeah.
You have to make your
own time for peace, for God,
for family.
It just kinda all runs together eventually.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
Am surprised you didn't go out tonight.
Go out?
Yeah, like on a date.
I've been on a few dates.
But?
My relationship with God is
my most important thing to me.
They don't seem to fully understand that.
I understand completely.
[Mrs Anderson] "As
we gazed at the stars, I,
I couldn't help but
marvel at the divine design
that was bringing us together."
(mellow music)
Dusty boots upon the floorboard
Empty skies and miles behind me
I chased a lot of fading crossroads
Where your memory won't remind me
You celebrated my
strength, so I'll be fine.
Lauren. Oh, Lauren.
Oh, Albert, you would
be so proud of our girl.
She helps me a lot,
she keeps me from
being a little too lonely.
Even Robby is, Robby is,
well, he's taken a little to get used to,
but he is a good boy
and he has a big heart,
and he loves our girl, and he respects her,
and he treats her like gold.
Although it's a lot like
having a golden retriever
around the house all the time.
And he kind of reminds me of you.
Remember when we used to
work in the barn, feed the cows?
I used to peek around the
corner and watch you work.
I dunno if you ever knew that, but I did.
Ugh, what I wouldn't give
for one more day that I can hold your hand,
but I guess it's not gonna
happen anytime soon.
Oh, this world has changed so much, Albert,
you wouldn't even recognize it.
I know you're always with
me, and it's not the same.
You don't have to be lonely now, grandma.
Oh my God, how long have you been there?
Long enough.
Oh, Robby, look who's here, baby.
Hi, Albert.
Hi, grandpa.
Albert, Robby.
Remember I was telling
you about him before?
She has her opinions about him.
Yeah, I certainly do.
Good ones though.
Yeah, I do.
We just thought we'd stop by
to make sure you weren't lonely.
Well, honey, I appreciate that.
But your grandfather,
well, I do miss him a lot
and I do get lonely.
He's with me.
You got the muscles, here
try this, see how he looks.
Oh, very nice.
Does he look good with that earring?
Are they good?
Mm.
Would you like to share?
Mm, you want me to share?
I didn't think so.
No, I didn't think so, so cute.
Well, thank you so much for coming.
I don't know how often you
see your grandfather's grave,
but it's part of your story, honey.
I see him more often now
- Yeah.
- Than I have.
Yeah.
Me too.
I see him in you, I see him in you.
(mellow jazz music)
(upbeat music)
Well, the antique decor
sign didn't give us much.
I'm getting tired of this shopping.
We've been at it for two days
and we haven't made any progress.
Oh gosh.
Well, there's, I mean,
cleaning supplies and napkins.
I don't want to clean,
you can't make me clean.
We need to focus on food,
what are we getting for food?
We need like Turkey, ham, cranberry sauce.
[Robby] That is a lot of food.
So I actually wanted to
talk to you about something.
I've been reading Grandma's Journal and
Bingo.
I don't know, I just feel
like I can relate to her more.
Yeah, no, it's multipurpose, yeah.
Yeah, be closer to her.
And I don't know, just...
I don't know, I just feel like I can,
I've learned so much
about her and her life, and
Yeah, this is perfect.
What she did when she was younger and
perfect.
Just so neat.
Yep.
To see how we relate.
Seeing it all go together.
I know, me and Francesca
have such a good connection,
I just know what she wants,
she knows what I want.
And I want you to grab two
more of those and we can go.
Come on.
Do you ever listen to anything I say?
Mrs A. We're back.
Grandma, we're here.
[Mrs Anderson] There's
some lunch in the refrigerator.
Thank you, but we already had some.
Honey, tofu is not lunch.
How did you know that?
How did you know we had tofu?
She's psychic.
Listen, we really need to
do something for grandma.
Do what?
Like put up Christmas
decorations or something for her.
I don't even know how to do that.
Just try.
- Try?
- Yes.
Try what?
I don't know what it is.
You just throw 'em up.
Put, put the ornaments on the tree.
What's an ornament?
Oh my gosh, could you just
do this thing, this one thing?
Sounds like a lot of work.
It is, but it'll be
okay, I believe in you.
Why don't you do it?
Because you could do it
when I take her to the Christmas service.
So you get to go relax at church
and I have to do the work?
I'm not relaxing.
You are the one relaxing here.
No, I'll be doing the
work setting up the tree.
Oh look, this is so important to her.
The love of her life did this for her.
And we need to do it too,
it's the least we can do.
Okay. I will help.
Thank you.
(upbeat music)
Salty, I don't know what to do.
Yeah, I really like him.
You think I should be more confident?
What do you mean?
Like I should wave, are you crazy?
You don't think I'm gonna wave?
I'll show you.
What was that?
[Mrs Anderson] "As the season shifted"
from summer into fall on the farm,
so did the cadence of our time together.
From the tentative stolen
glances and the gentle laughter,
now to the warmth and joy that envelops us.
With every beat of my heart,
I feel the deepening connection between us,
but the sensation of uncertainty
and the questions still linger in my heart.
"Could Albert feel what I feel?"
Why are you in here?
Pops needs help fixing the
fence, I'm the man for the job.
Looks like it started raining.
Better be quick then.
Yeah.
Let's go.
Rain's coming, that's
all right, we're finished.
Can I ask you something?
Sure.
So how'd you know when
you were ready to get married?
You thinking about getting married?
Well, I'd like to one
day, and, how'd you know?
Huh, well, I don't know.
I don't reconnect an exact moment.
I just remember that I
loved my wife dearly.
I mean, that girl, she
was all I could think about.
I didn't wanna get married
right away though, no, no, sir.
That's a big decision, you
gotta know when you're ready.
So was it difficult?
Difficult?
No, not difficult.
A challenge?
Yes.
You gotta remember, we were,
I was 16 years old when we
got married, she was only 15.
We were still trying to
figure out how to be adults.
We did have each other
though, we did have that.
See son, there's, there's more to marriage
than all the poems in the world
could ever possibly say, you know?
I mean, it's more than
love it, it's beyond love.
You're sharing your life
with someone who won't falter
when the trials and the tribulations come,
and they will come, they will.
But the most important
part though, Albert is,
the only way it'll work
is if you let God lead
both of you together.
That's well said.
What about the fights?
Especially during the fights.
Let's go eat.
Yes, sir.
It's coming down now.
(mellow music)
You do good work, Albert.
Thank you, sir.
Learnt from the best.
Who is that?
Osh Popham, what are you
doing all the way out here?
Who's minding the mercantile?
We got a problem,
Pastor Beeker has resigned.
He's a pastor, he can't resign.
Well, he just did.
He did, he accepted a
position in another state.
What are we gonna do?
Do we have anyone who can
preach a sermon on Sunday?
Wait a minute.
No, you're perfect.
Thank you, but I'm not ordained yet.
We were a lot closer to him than we are.
Jesus wasn't ordained and
he preached to thousands.
Yeah, well, he didn't need to be.
It was kind of part of the family business.
No, I think Osh is right,
this could be your chance.
I will do it.
All right.
Man, awesome.
Okay, I gotta get back to the store.
Do it.
Problem solved.
He's high strung.
Rotten car, come on, man.
(motor roars) There you go.
(water gently splashes)
You can do all things through Christ
who gives you strength.
You can do all things through
Christ who gives you strength.
Aimme, what are you doing here?
This is my spot, what are you doing here?
Practicing my sermon.
My very first solo sermon.
I've been at it all
day, I, I can't blow this.
Why?
What's the worst that can happen?
Utter humiliation.
And after that?
What are you getting at?
No, I can't, I can't get any of this right.
I mean, what am I doing, all this seminary?
What am I, what am I even here for?
Albert, you're stressing
about this way too much.
You're a good guy, they
don't expect a miracle.
Just speak plainly,
openly, and from the heart.
They're just simple, hardworking people.
Don't, don't try to force
anything, just embrace them.
Speak from the heart, don't be theatrical.
I guess you're right.
I kind of forget that the word of God
is first and foremost for the people.
- Yeah.
- Just care so much.
I can't believe I let
vanity get the best of me.
You're only human.
Well, that's the nicest thing
anyone's ever said to me.
You know what I think you need?
A break.
- Yeah?
- Yeah.
I like your spot.
- It's nice.
- Yeah, thank you.
Oh no, thank you.
No, thank you.
No, really, no, thank you.
You know what?
I better go.
See you later.
Yes, yes!
There was a man crossing the desert
and the stomach burning with hunger.
Was in this instance the man surveyed it.
You see, I was about
to tell y'all a parable
about a man wandering through the desert.
When I realized the importance
of what a true sermon should entail.
Back at the seminary, I would daydream.
Man would I daydream, about
the places God would take me.
The amazing miracles I would
embark upon and get to witness.
But I look too far away.
See folks, you may not
think anything happens here.
The truth is, everything happens here.
In all the world,
you'll never find a community
like your own community.
I know in my time here, I
found a genuine fellowship,
of warmth, acceptance, love.
So don't take this community for granted.
I mean, God's blessings are all around us.
They're everywhere, you
just gotta know how to see 'em.
[Mrs Anderson] "To
witness Albert struggle"
and then find his confident voice for God,
it was a privilege.
As he spoke, I not only saw
a man standing at the pulpit,
but a vessel through which God could speak.
"To support him on his spiritual
journey is such a blessing."
And the affection he has for all of us.
Don't forget to notice those blessings.
Thank you.
(congregation applauds)
Thank you for coming.
Good job.
Nice meeting you, thank you.
You did it, that was amazing.
Thanks Aimme.
Gentlemen.
Good job.
Thank you.
You did a wonderful job.
Thank you.
You are welcome.
Nicely done, Albert, nicely done.
Thank you, sir.
Hey, could we have a word, do you think?
Of course.
Osh, would you...
Oh, I don't actually remember you
hugging Pastor Beeker that way.
Huh, Aimme, I'm just
saying, little observation.
[Aimme] "As I gazed into Albert's eyes",
I wish that everyone
could feel a love like ours.
Ours was a love so deeply
rooted in our shared faith
and love for Christ.
The night seemed to hold a sacred stillness
as if the whole universe itself
paused to witness the union
"of these two souls that were
destined to be intertwined."
Have you ever considered the muffin?
Everybody loves the top
and discards the bottom, why?
I think that would hurt
the muffin's feelings.
Hello?
Lauren?
I'm saying some funny stuff here.
I don't think my ego
can handle the silence.
Sorry, I, I was just
thinking about things.
I, I've reading grandma's journal.
I know that's all you talk about.
Well, it's just got me thinking about us.
So what, you want me
to be a farmer or a pastor?
Well, neither.
I just, I want things to
be simpler, you know?
In her journal, she talks about
how she loved him so much
and she couldn't help with the, you know,
pouring of the lemonade, and
how amazing it was just to...
Do you want, you want lemonade?
I can get you lemonade.
You want half of my muffin?
- No.
- You can have the bottom.
No, no, I, I don't want the muffins.
I want simple, I want uncomplicated.
In today's world, it's
so frustrating and it's,
there's no relationships,
there's no long lasting anything.
It's because it's not the 1950s anymore.
It doesn't really make sense
for us to just jump into
something overly serious
when we're both in school
and we're both on our own path right now.
I know, I, I, trust me, I know.
But I just want you, I, I
want simple, uncomplicated.
I don't wanna have to
worry about anything like that.
Nothing's simple.
You're not simple, I'm not simple.
I don't even understand myself.
I, I mean, people are just complicated.
Everyone has their own issues.
Everyone's going through things.
I am, I know I struggle with stuff.
I might not show it, but I am.
Look, you don't have to be nervous.
You don't have to be anything for me.
I just want you.
I want you too, it doesn't
get any simpler than that.
I love you.
I love you too.
Dad, is the ice cream
ever gonna be ready?
Soon, my boy, soon.
All good things come to
those who wait, we must wait.
Well look at you, isn't
that Osh Popham's car?
Yes sir, it is.
He was kind enough to let
me borrow it this afternoon.
Oh, that was very nice of
him, where are you heading to?
Nowhere in particular,
just a simple drive, really.
I was wondering if Aimme
would like to come along,
as a sign of appreciation for all her help.
Well, it is such a lovely
day and there's really no point
in her being cooped
up in the house all day.
I think it'd be all right.
Okay, you can go.
Yes.
You have her home by nightfall.
Yes, sir.
You two have fun.
And be back early, we have ice cream.
Yes, ice cream's ready?
No, the ice cream is not ready.
Will the ice cream ever be ready?
I don't think they heard me.
They heard what they wanted to, dear.
Yeah.
(motor roars)
Certainly is breathtaking here.
One should never underestimate God's plans.
He has such gifts to give,
more than anyone could ever imagine.
I didn't expect my life to
change so much when I arrived.
I thought it was gonna be
another simple assignment.
You know, work a little, meet
people and move on and repeat.
But now I really don't
wanna leave, I like it here.
What made you change your mind?
A lot of things happened
that I didn't count on.
You, a very dear friend came into my life.
I've always had the desire to share my life
with a wife and kids.
But I'm not sure that that's
what God's will has for me.
My life is His.
I've just always hoped
and prayed that He'd
grant me this one dream.
Come to find out I
discovered something far more
than I could have ever dreamed.
I've fallen in love with you, Aimme.
And all I gotta know is,
do you feel the same?
You do love me?
Are you all right?
Of course I love you.
You're funny, handsome, kind,
you're everything I could ever want.
And, and most importantly,
you follow my guideline
for loving the Lord.
I've, I've prayed wanting
to follow God's will
and He's answered my
prayer, He's, He's given me you.
Well, I hoped you'd say that.
I guess that leave one last thing.
Aimme, I know this is happening so fast,
but I've never been so sure
of something in my entire life.
I love you with all my heart.
Aimme, would you marry me?
[Mother] I know...
There have to be rules.
Yeah, but Albert's a
good kid, we can trust him.
And Aimme's never given us any problems.
I hope so.
Mom.
Cutting it close, aren't you?
You're almost late.
And what exactly is that?
Looks like a ring dear.
Yes, I know what it is.
What I want to know is what it means.
It's from Albert, he proposed to me.
Oh, he proposed to you?
I thought it was just
a drive in the country.
Don't you understand, pa?
Albert and I are getting
married, us, together.
And it never occurred
to either one of you
to ask my permission?
Well, well, I'm sorry sir.
It didn't occur to me to ask you first,
but ultimately it's Aimme's decision.
Well, sure, of course
it's my daughter's decision
whether she marries you or not.
But you could have shown
me a little respect as her father.
But Pa, that's so old fashioned.
There is nothing old
fashioned about respect, Aimme.
For me, for your
mother, for our traditions.
When I proposed to your mother,
I had to ask her father for permission.
And now you've denied
me that honor, Albert,
my only daughter.
I'm disappointed in both of you.
And I expected more from you.
You are absolutely right,
sir, and I do apologize.
You took me in as one of the family,
clearly I failed to return
that same sentiment.
I love your daughter so much.
I promise to give her a beautiful life.
But also I have a strong
affection for your family here,
so let's do this properly.
Sir, I would like your permission
to marry your daughter.
And if I refuse?
Outta respect for your family, and you,
we won't get married.
What?
Claid?
No.
You really do love my daughter?
With my whole heart.
And you know, she can be a little nutty?
I know, actually find that endearing.
Well, you have my permission.
(mellow music)
[Mother] Welcome.
[Albert] Thank you so much.
You're an old softy.
Do I look okay?
Yeah, yeah, you look great.
Grandma, we don't wanna
be late for Christmas service.
I'm coming.
How do I look?
Grandma, you look beautiful.
You look beautiful Mrs. A.
All right, get a jacket
on, it's cold out there.
Come on, it's Christmas, girl.
You girls have fun.
Robby, sure you don't wanna come with us?
I'm sure, thank you though.
Christmas is for family.
You shouldn't be here by yourself.
I know, I'm used to being
alone on Christmas though.
Well, you know what?
You said it yourself,
you are like family here.
Thanks for saying that, it means a lot.
It's true.
And Robby, thank you for
taking care of my granddaughter,
for protecting her and, and
loving her, making her happy.
Grandmother doesn't need
anything more than that, trust me.
Of course.
And as far as church goes, I,
I realize that you're Jewish
and you may not be comfortable
in a church, and that's fine.
Oh, funny story.
My best girlfriend is Jewish.
Do you know how I introduce her?
Seriously, I say, this
is my girlfriend, Rachel,
after Jesus Christ, she's my favorite Jew.
It's true.
She loves it.
"Oh, I'm a chosen person,"
like, quit rubbing it in my face.
So, who's third?
Jesus, Rachel, and I guess
that would have to be you.
Okay, just making sure.
Well honey, if you change your mind,
you know where the church is, right?
I do.
Okay, all right.
Okay.
Merry Christmas.
Oh, thank you, happy Hanukah.
Thank you.
All right, there's cookies,
but I don't want you to touch
them, those are for Santa
- I would never.
- All right?
And don't touch any of the presents.
I'm looking at you.
Okay.
- Okay?
- Okay, I believe you.
I'm watching you.
I know.
Okay, y'all have fun.
I'm Jewish.
Get you some on that Santa.
Never seen a tree like this before.
Oh my God, it looks so good.
Thanks Mrs. A, this is all for you.
That's right, who's your favorite Jew now?
[Pastor] Good evening.
[Congregation] Good evening.
We gather here tonight
to celebrate the birth
of our Lord Jesus Christ.
An event that's brought immeasurable joy
and glory to our hearts.
But stop to consider, regard
the image of the manger.
You see, the baby, the
parents, three wise men,
shepherds and the
animals, a peaceful visage.
But look closer, what are we seeing
besides the birth of God's only child?
A family, it's a celebration of a family.
That is what Christmas is all about.
Family is always important.
So when you praise the
significance of this holiday,
remember to look around,
see the faces of your loved ones.
This is the rewarding life
that God has blessed you with.
Drink in the abundance of warmth and love.
Hark the herald angels sing
Glory to the newborn King
Peace on earth, and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled
(mellow music)
[Mrs Anderson] My
goodness, did you put this up?
[Lauren] Well, I, I did this morning.
[Mrs Anderson] Good job.
[Lauren] Thank you.
No peeking, no peaking.
[Mrs Anderson] I'm old, I
need to go to bed, come on.
Okay, no peeking.
And open.
Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas.
It's beautiful, oh my.
Oh, it's fragile, a major award.
Oh my goodness, it's, it's beautiful.
Like when I used to celebrate Christmas
with your grandfather.
Thank you.
Did you do all this?
Maybe a little.
Thank you, oh, goodness.
Oh Lauren, thank you so much.
Thank you for being a part of my life.
I do have something for you.
Thank you.
What?
I, I feel like I don't need anything.
Where did you find this?
Oh my goodness.
Well, when we were looking in the attic
for Christmas decorations,
we found your journal.
Thank you, but this is for you.
When you have your own
babies and grand babies,
you tell them all about your grandparents
and the love we shared.
You bear my stories and my life.
I love you, sweetie.
Okay, this is a beautiful
moment, y'all stay right there.
I forgot the cherry on top.
Don't move, stay right there.
There's more, oh my
goodness, oh sweet girl.
Oh my goodness.
Okay, you said you wanted simple.
It doesn't get any simpler than a dance.
I'm glad you made me do it.
You should dance with her.
Mrs. Anderson, would you like to dance?
I don't think if I've
heard him call me that.
Well, Robert, I would love to.
Thank you.
Of course.
Thank you so much.
Thank you for all you've done for me.
I look forward hearing all
about the memories you make
with my granddaughter.
I plan on being here for a while.
As you should.
I'll always love you,
I'll always love you
We're two worlds apart
But deep in my heart,
you'll always remain
I still see you, I still hear you
Your voice in my mind,
brings tears to my eyes
Brings life to the memories
And there's nothing as sweet
as the kiss you gave to me
Promising us a gift from
above, a life time of love
Even though it seems unfair
That I'm here and you are there
It is and will always
be my timeless love
I'll always love you,
I'll always love you
We're two worlds apart
But deep in my heart
you'll always remain
I'll always love you,
I'll always love you
Yes I'll always love you
