So things were pretty scary
for me in my house growing up.
And before you ask,
no, I'm not gonna do
the first campfire trauma dump.

All I meant was that I was
surrounded by a lot of noise,
if that makes sense.
And then one day this kid from school
told me I should try praying.
And so I tried it that night and
legit, the first thing that came
out of my mouth was "I miss You."
I didn't even know who I was
talking to at that point.
Then the guy from
school invited me to camp.
First campfire, he sang "Amazing Grace"
and I heard God.
And he said,
"I'm right here and I miss you, too."
And now we just never
stop talking. [laughing]
He became my best friend
and so did a lot of you.
Spoiler alert, the guy
in my story was Jake.
It's kind of embarrassing
that I come every single year,
but I don't know,
I just never wanna forget
what it felt like to
hear Him for the first time.
And I wanna be there
when that happens for somebody else.
I don't know, that's
just off the top of my head.

So things were pretty scary
for me in my house growing up.
And before you ask,
no, I'm not gonna do
the first campfire trauma dump.
[nervous laughter]
All I meant was that I was
surrounded by a lot of noise,
if that makes sense.
And then one day this kid from school
told me I should try praying.
And so I tried it that night and
legit, the first thing that came
out of my mouth was "I miss You."
I didn't even know who I was
talking to at that point.
Then the guy from
school invited me to camp.
First campfire, he sang "Amazing Grace"
and I heard God.
And he said,
"I'm right here and I miss you, too."
And now we just never
stop talking. [laughing]
He became my best friend
and so did a lot of you.
Spoiler alert, the guy
in my story was Jake.
It's kind of embarrassing
that I come every single year,
but I don't know,
I just never wanna forget
what it felt like to
hear Him for the first time.
And I wanna be there
when that happens for somebody else.
I don't know, that's
just off the top of my head.
