[ominous classical music plays]
[preacher] Brothers and sisters,
we break this bread
to share in the body of Christ.
Though we are many,
we are one.
[all] We all share in one bread.
[music turns pleasant and light]
[people chatter happily]
[children laugh]
[preacher] And as we partake
of this holy sacrament,
let us remember that we share
in more than just His body and His blood.
We are blessed to live our lives
within this community,
where love binds us
and our families flourish.
In His name, we have created a haven
where our women nurture
and our men provide.
A sanctuary safe
from the temptations of the world outside
and from the evil that lies within.
And we are eternally grateful. Amen!
[all] Amen.
[somber theme music plays]
[fiddler plays faintly]
My wife, multitasker. Who'd have known?
Idle hands and all that.
There's no chance with you.
You haven't stopped.
[woman] Anthony, don't. Ah!
Anthony, put it-- put it down!
That's your sister's. Ant…
Shouldn't be chasing children
in your state.
You're about to burst.
It's all right for you.
You've only got the one.
My kids are World War III.
[uncle, joking] Hey, uh,
has anybody seen my favorite niece?
[niece] I'm up here!
Oh, there she is. [laughs]
-[uncle] Hey!
-Hey!
[grunts]
Let me have a look.
-[hearing aid crackles digitally]
-Yeah? You okay?
-Yeah.
-Okay. Go play with your cousins.
[audio plays normally]
Hey! [laughs]
How's she getting on with the hearing aid?
Good, we think.
Early days. Still off in her own world.
I'd better go collect the empties.
Raise a glass to Dad?
[uncle sighs] He would've loved this.
[man chuckles] Yeah, he would.
[machine whirs]
[juices sizzle]

from the outside has given this to her.
I don't know how.
I've never seen it before.
-[older woman] It's come from somewhere.
-Grace wouldn't have something like that.
[thunder rumbles]

Adam, we've looked everywhere.

Please, let me come with you.
This is men's work. You have to stay here.
[man] The second group,
head down to the main road.

-You're welcome.
Everything's all right.
You're not in any trouble.
Why did you run away, Grace?
I was scared of the Rapture.
[Rosie] Oh, sweetheart.
That wasn't the Rapture.
That was just a storm.
Rapture isn't today.
It might not be for years and years.

You must be wrung out.
Hey. You're home.
-You're safe.
-[men] Praise be.
-That's all that matters.
-[men] Amen.
[women chatter indistinctly]
[all exclaim happily]
Welcome home.
-Thank you.
-It's just a stew.
-I got the lamb out of--
-Thank you.
[women continue chattering]
[men pray in distance]
[men] Hallelujah!
Amen.
[men, together] Let us once again
thank our heavenly Father
for guiding Brothers Adam and Isaac
to save little Grace.
Praise be.
Amen.
And let us give thanks to our Lord…

-Mummy.
-[faucet handle squeaks]
What's the matter?
Nothing, darling.
Nothing's the matter.
What about you?
Do you need a wee?
That man in the river,
you saw him, didn't you?
Was he Jesus?
You're a great mum, you know that?
Grace is lucky to have you.
So am I.
[inhales]
Tired?
Yeah.
Too tired?
Of course, we don't have to.
We thank Jesus
for the safe return of Grace
and ask Him to bless our union.
To make our love clean and pure.
For it to be His will
to bless us with more children.
To be His chosen instruments.
To spread His love.
Amen.

Come on, then.
-[man] Joseph!
-[parking brake cranks]
[men chat indistinctly]
Adam, before you say anything…
I just want you to know it's over, okay?
-That's what you said last time.
-I know, but this time I mean it.
Look, I don't want you
to worry about anything.
-But you know Rosie, she--
-She saw your phone.
I know, and that could have been anyone.
What if it was Mr. Phillips?
I don't want to lose you, brother.
And you won't.
You won't lose me.
Please take it. I don't want it.
Just get rid of it, whatever you want.
You swear it's over?
I ended it.
Do you remember what Mr. Phillips
said to you as he left to look for Grace?
He told me to stay there, to wait.
And did you?
No. I'm sorry.
You were expressly told
to stay at the meeting hall, and yet--
I know. I know I disobeyed,
but if I hadn't gone,
I wouldn't have found Grace.
Your husband, his brother were there.
Not when she was
in the water, Mrs. Phillips.
-She would have drowned.
-Oh, come now. You don't know that.
I do.
I was the only one there, except for…
I'm sorry.
I know this isn't what you want to hear,
but it's the truth.
It wasn't Adam or Isaac.
There was a man in the woods,
and he saved her.
You should be thanking God,
not some unchosen.
Evil exists, Rosie.
The world's lying in wickedness.
Separation is our sole principle.
We must live our beliefs.
I'm sure you'll find a way
