Eyes of Wakanda (2025) s01e02 Episode Script

Legends and Lies

[dramatic chanting fanfare playing]
[mysterious music playing]
[ominous music playing]
[birds cawing]
[Greek breacher] For our fallen brothers!
- For the honor Troy stole from us!
- [soldiers grunt in affirmation]
For Greece!
[soldiers] For Greece!
[breacher] Now!
Greeks!
Deploy archers!
[all shouting]
[all shouting]
Odysseus. Your machine
has reached the city walls.
Excellent.
By nightfall, that treacherous King Priam
will finally be ours.
Signal the army.
Won't be long now
before the Myrmidons open the gates.
The Trojans are relentless.
[Odysseus] Perhaps.
But we have something they do not.
Achilles.
And they have no idea he's coming.
[all grunting and shouting]
[arrows hitting shields and soldiers]
[soldiers grunting]
[soldiers screaming]
[Greek breacher] Release!
Pull!
Release!
Clear the archers!
Cauldrons!
[loud thud]
[soldiers shouting]
[soldiers grunt]
[loud thud]
[crash]
[Greek breacher] Release!
[grunting]
[soldiers grunting]
[Achilles] We've made it, brother.
The beginning of the end of Troy
is in our sights.
Odysseus' plan is working.
If it's going to keep working.
The Trojans need to stay distracted.
[Nicos] Achilles, come, quickly.
You're not going to like this.
Ah, Hades!
These Trojans.
Do they never stop building?
An obstacle, perhaps, but not defeat.
They build, we adapt.
You're right, Memnon.
There is always a way.
Achilles!
[grunts]
Eyes forward. Stay alert.
[Nicos] It's happening.
Achilles will win the day,
and by nightfall,
we will finally have victory for Greece.
No, brother. For Wakanda.
[dramatic music playing]
[female Amazon archer] We are breached!
Greeks on the wall!
Greeks on the wall!
[grunts]
[swords clashing]
[slashing]
- [Trojan watchman screams]
- [Amazon archer screams]
- [Greek breacher] Pull! Release!
- [soldier grunts]
[soldiers shouting]
Myrmidons! Attack!
- [soldier 1] For Greece!
- [soldier 2] For Greece!
[swords clashing]
[slashing]
[grunts]
[slashing]
[slashing]
[grunts]
[slashing]
[both grunting]
Come on, old man. Watch your back.
[Trojan soldier shouting]
[slashing]
[laughs] That is what I have you for!
[both grunting]
[rumbling]
[Greek breacher] Get out! Get out!
[Greek soldier] Run.
[Greek advisor] The Myrmidons
have been found. The plan has failed.
Damn it all to Hades!
Call for retreat.
[horn blowing]
[sword slashes]
[soldier grunts]
Odysseus wants us to fall back? Coward!
[slashing]
[screams]
[thud]
[Trojan commander]
Reinforcements to the upper walls!
[soldiers shouting]
[grunts]
- Memnon!
- [grunts]
[soldiers shouting]
[bell ringing]
Achilles, we must go.
No. We have come too far to give up now.
We can go no further today.
You want to die here?
[shouts in frustration]
[soldiers shouting]
[sword slashes]
[soldier grunts]
[screaming]
Achilles, brother, the day is lost.
[sighing]
[grunts, shouts angrily]
[clicks]
[spraying]
[sizzling]
Ah.
[grunts softly]
[breacher] This war is cursed.
The gods have abandoned us, I know it.
We are fools to keep trying.
Did the fire do something
to offend you, Achilles?
Don't, Memnon. I'm in no mood.
It has been a difficult day.
But you can always
speak your mind with me.
All this death.
And mud.
How many good men
have I recruited to fight for justice?
Only to lead them to their end.
Achilles, we joined you
because you showed us
there are some causes worth dying for.
This is no cause.
This was supposed to be a legend, Memnon,
to inspire generations to come.
Instead, it's just a story
of Greek bodies,
piled higher now than that accursed wall.
Legends are lies, my friend.
Tales told by those who never did
to those who never will.
What we do here
is not done for their benefit.
We fight for home.
[chuckles softly]
I have never met a warrior
more devoted to a home he was not born to.
When I joined your cause,
I was a wanderer.
But you, Achilles, have made me feel
like one of your own.
[laughs]
Flattery! Is that how you plan
to turn the tide of war?
Odysseus himself
could not conjure a better strategy!
[both laugh]
Sometimes it feels
as though this war will outlast us all.
Thank you for being here.
Someone has to be here to put the coins
on your eyes for your ferryman.
[Ferro] I'd be careful trusting someone
who foretells your death
with such relish, Achilles.
Ferro, please. Not again.
This barbarian may have
convinced you of his loyalties,
but I have never been one
to trust an outsider.
Especially after yet another one
of our campaigns somehow ends in defeat.
It's almost as if
we had a Trojan spy in our midst.
Or perhaps your suspicion
is just easier to accept
than the idea we have been outmatched.
Don't be a fool, Ferro.
In the nine years
since Memnon joined our cause,
he has saved the lives
of every last one of us, countless times.
We faced defeat today, I won't deny it.
But to seek comfort
in turning against your brother?
It is the ploy of a weaker man
than you, Ferro.
I trust Memnon with my life,
just as I trust any of you.
We must not let the endurance of our enemy
break the bonds of our brotherhood.
Especially with victory so close at hand.
Victory? After today?
Perhaps now is not the time
for another one of your tricks, Odysseus.
On the contrary, I think now
is the perfect time for one last trick.
But not on you.
On Troy.
Tell me, men, how do you convince
your enemy to invite you into his home?
You make him think he's won.
And how will you do that?
By presenting Troy with a gift.
Come. There is much to explain.
[device clicking]
[clicking continues]
[device clicking]
[clicking]
I take back what I said about Odysseus.
The man is a lunatic.
[Achilles, chuckling] Genius, madman
One way or another, this will end the war.
Uh, and what will
the legendary Achilles do
without a war to fight?
[both laugh]
[sighs]
It's been so long,
I have hardly dared to think about it.
But with victory so close,
I cannot help myself.
Even after all these years,
I still remember the taste
of the air at home.
Cool and sweet, like water and berries.
You will see, brother,
when we finally
lay down our swords in the grass
and enjoy the peace we have won.
Together.
My mother gave this to me
when I was a boy, for luck.
It has always served me well.
Take it.
Achilles
No. I, I
For everything you've done.
For everything we have been through.
Tonight, we will have justice.
[rhythmic hammering]
[Achilles] Justice for Greece,
for our fallen brothers,
for the honor Troy stole from us.
Remember, trust your blade.
- Trust your brothers.
- [soldiers] Yes, Achilles.
[Trojan commander] You men!
Grab a hold of these ropes.
King Priam will be most pleased.
And pull!
[Trojan soldiers grunting]
[Trojan commander] Pull!
Pull!
Pull!
For Greece.
- For home.
- [Trojan commander] Pull!
[Achilles blows]
[grunts]
[Trojan soldiers shouting]
[Trojan soldier 1] Victory for Troy!
[Trojan soldier 2] The war is over!
[Trojan soldier 3] Hail King Priam!
[knocks]
[guard 1 grunts]
[sword slashes]
[guard 2 grunts]
[guard 3 grunts]
I still don't understand
these people's horse obsession.
We're in, aren't we?
The rest of the army?
They wait for your signal, Achilles.
On me.
[sword slashes]
[guard 4 chuckles] I'm just saying.
[grunts] A giant horse?
I would have thought the Greeks
would send an olive branch.
[guard 5 chuckles] Who cares?
They're gone, we won.
[all laughing]
[Trojan guards grunt]
[chuckles] Who's ready for another?
[guard 6 yelling] Greeks!
[sword slashes]
[grunts and groans]
[bell ringing]
No point in being quiet any more,
eh, old man?
Alert King Priam!
Rally to the palace!
[Trojan soldiers grunt]
- Myrmidons!
- [all yelling]
[all grunting]
[slashing]
[grunting]
Memnon?
[Trojan soldier shouts, then grunts]
Memnon!
Memnon!
[slashing]
[sword pierces]
[thud]
Memnon?
- [grunting]
- [Trojan soldier groans]
[grunting]
[slashing]
[Trojan soldiers shouting]
[Achilles] Memnon!
[thudding]
[grunting in pain]
[grunting]
[Helen] Paris, we have to go!
[Paris] Just a few more things.
[yelps]
What do you want with us, brigand?
If it's our lives you're after,
get it over with.
Helen!
I do not care about you,
or Troy, or any of it.
You have no idea
what I've given up to recover this.
Ah!
[sighs] Nine long years.
Run.
You will not get another chance.
[Helen and Paris grunting]
[tense music playing]
Memnon?
Memnon!
- [gasps]
- Go!
I saw you on the stairs.
You looked me in the eyes
and left me for dead.
For what? Some trinket?
Step aside, my friend.
Don't use that word!
Achilles, I am your friend.
But this is not about you and me.
[Achilles] Then what is this?
I came to Greece for a cause,
but not for yours.
And now that cause is finished.
So, Ferro spoke the truth then?
You've been their spy this whole time?
No, Achilles, I am no Trojan.
I'm sorry, but I cannot tell you any more.
Please, my friend, go finish your battle,
seal your legend.
Return to Greece a hero
and lay down your sword in the grass.
Do not let anger force your hand.
I
I trusted you.
Just let me go home.
Home?
[Memnon screaming]
[grunts]
[Achilles shouting]
[dramatic music playing]
[Memnon] Achilles
If this is all you truly want,
then I swear on the gods
- Achilles
- you will never hold it again.
Achilles, no!
No!
[explosion]
Achilles
This
This magic is what you've sought
this whole time?
Even if you could understand it,
it is better that you do not know.
I understand.
Whatever this power is,
it will belong to Greece.
Achilles, for the last time,
you need to give that to me, now.
I am done giving to you.
And you are done taking from me.
No.
Who are you?
[shouts]
You sewed my wounds!
You saved my life!
[grunting]
[yells]
[grunts]
[both grunting]
[shouting]
[yells]
[loud thud]
[both grunting]
You didn't betray Greece.
[both grunting]
You betrayed me!
[splash]
[both grunting]
[slashing]
[screams]
[groans]
Stay down.
[panting]
Achilles, it is over.
Please just give it to me.
[shouts]
[slashing]
[groans]
[coughing, gasping for breath]
It is over, my friend.
Why?
Why have you done this?
For the same reason
we have done all of this, Achilles.
For home.
[Achilles struggling to breathe]
Was [coughs]
Was everything a lie, Memnon?
Not everything.
[mournful music playing]
For your ferryman.
[mournful music continues playing]
[distant people screaming and wailing]
[Noni] B'kai. B'kai.
It is good to see you back on your feet.
Apologies, Director Noni.
I am still getting used
to hearing that name again.
It will come with time.
These missions have a way
of leaving their mark on us.
The price we pay.
The price we pay.
[Noni] You know, on my first mission,
someone told me that
once you have walked in the outside world,
it cannot be forgotten.
The lives we lead out there
may not be real,
but our experiences are.
You have been gone for so long,
given so much.
But you have returned home now,
B'kai, a hero.
It is okay to let go.
I am here, and I feel like a stranger.
I gave a decade of my life to Wakanda.
I went to war for her,
lied for her,
I killed m
[breathing heavily]
All this for the chance to be here again.
But now back among my people,
I feel more alone here
than I did out there.
Send me back out into the field.
It is where I belong.
If that is your wish.
But out there, there is no path.
And if you do not wish to get lost,
you must be certain
of what it is you are searching for.
Whatever Wakanda needs me to, Director.
Yes.
But what is it that you are searching for?
[closing theme song playing]
