The Lamar Odom Party

1
[News] Former NBA all-star,
Lamar Odom,
remains unconscious at
a hospital in Las Vegas.
Lamar, he's just signed
his divorce papers.
And he went to a place that
he always wanted to go to
Dennis Hof's Love Ranch.
I feel like he was trying to
get over his marriage
with Khloe, and he just
wanted some cute girls
to just throw him off
a little bit.
Dennis, he gets to boast
and say he hired
the first
transgender prostitute.
Dennis Hof told her to
get whatever Lamar needed,
and to try to
keep him there longer.
They wanted him to
spend more money.
In those time periods,
he reverted back
to his vices

that he's always had

Dennis was taking every

about the
Lamar Odom party.
Exactly what happened.
When Lamar Odom came to
the Love Ranch South,
it was a big deal.
That was probably the
biggest celebrity they'd
ever had walk in there
and put money down.
[Monica] Why not tell the story,
and why keep it a secret?
People want to know.

Lamar Odom was not only
famous in basketball,
but he was connected
to the Kardashians.
He was married
at that time to Khloe.
October 2015.
Lamar is in the
worst state of his life.
The worst mindset
of his life.
He has just signed
his divorce papers.
You think of, where would
Lamar Odom go?
The first place he went to
was this brothel.
[Monica] We're smoking weed
and drinking, taking shots.

But after he did
the cocaine,
it turned into
a bad situation.
It got pretty scary.
I've never talked
to anybody about it.
Never.

I worked for Dennis Hof
at his Love Ranch
as an escort girl.

I grew up in Sacramento.
Um, it was
a little rough.
All my friends that I knew,
they had money, and
they had it easy.
Their parents were there,
worked good jobs,
and they had everything
they wanted and needed,
and the way I grew up
I went without
a lot of the time.
One of my friends
told me about
the HBO Cathouse show.
I remember seeing
where a girl
had a guy in a bathtub.
It looks easy. She- he's
just sucking on her toes.

They're not being
sexual at all.
They're both naked,
of course.
She just kept swiping his
card for more money and
more money, and I was like,
if it's that easy, then
I really want to try it.

I got hired
24 hours after applying.
This woman named TJ,
she was the Madam
from the Love Ranch.
She responded to me,
and she said
"You're hired." She's like,
"When can you start?"

I have been afraid from
time to time for my life
because I've told the truth.
Um, I believe there's still
a lot of truth and that it
needs to be told, and
that's why I'm
taking part in this.
Love Ranch South is
located in Crystal, Nevada.
It is in the
middle of nowhere.
There are no services,
there's no
buses, there's no taxis,
there's no grocery stores.

[Monica] I would go back

I worked at Dennis Hof's

Dennis Hof approached

He specifically

this idea.
"You're gonna be the first
transgender prostitute to be
licensed in Nevada and
the United States."
So, that's how they
kind of sold me on
the idea of going there.
[Madison] Come see me at
the Love Ranch Vegas!
While I was working
at the brothel,
we got a call
from a customer,
and they had left
$100 deposit down.
I was with Ryder
at the time.
We both looked at the caller
ID just to see who called,
and she said that Lamar Odom
was the one that called
and that he was the one
that left the deposit.
And I was like,
"Who's Lamar Odom?"

And then she told me,
"He was on the show,
he's Khloe Kardashian's
husband."

I first met Lamar when
he joined The Clippers,
so this was 1999.
I always loved
talking to Lamar.
He told me about his
childhood in New York.
It was so sad,
it didn't really seem
that it was true, really.
He never really had
a father figure
in the true sense
of the word.
His dad was
addicted to heroin.
His mother passed away
when he was 12.
With everything he went
through in life-
basketball,
the gym, the court-
that was his safe place.
When Lamar got traded
to Los Angeles,
he joined the Lakers,
and he became a
teammate of Kobe Bryant,
and he will tell you that
that changed his life.
Lamar and the Lakers,
they went to three
straight finals,

[Security] Back, back,
back, back, back!
[Arash] That is a

You cannot leave your house.
You cannot do anything.
Everyone knows

And then there was a video
released on TMZ with, uh,
one of Lamar's
childhood friends.
They're both without
their shirts on, uh,
and Lamar's clearly
drugged out,
talking about
cheating on Khloe,
the one stable thing
in his life.
[Arash] He always talked
about that, like
he's given her so
many reasons to leave,
and then finally it
was too much,
where she wanted a divorce.
Lamar wants to forget
about everything that's
happening in his life,
and he went to Las Vegas.
And there was one place that
he always wanted to go to,
Dennis Hof's Love Ranch.
I think the appeal
of this brothel,
from what Lamar had heard,
was that they were used to
high-profile clientele
that would keep it
under wraps.

[Madison] I decided to go
post on my Twitter,
and say, you know,
at The Love Ranch,
you know, you can trust
Dennis Hof and I
for discretion,
you know, and all that,
hoping he would see it.
And then, I ended up taking
matters into my own hands
and I just screenshotted
my tweet,
and then I DM'ed Lamar
on Instagram.
I sent my phone number
to him as well.
He called me in the
middle of the night.

He came in,
and he sat down.
Gave him some time

I offered him a

And then
I asked him
just to let me know when he
was ready for the lineup.

[Monica] I picked out
this outfit.
I felt like it was my
best piece of lingerie
that I had.
I was excited.
He just seemed really calm,
like he was- the way he was
sitting on the couch,
he was all laid back.
I say 8,
maybe 9 girls.
And they start
at the beginning,
and they go down.
I was just like,
"Hi, my name's
Monica Monroe."
Just by, like,
looking at him and
him watching all the girls,
and he was looking at me.
So, I was just like,
"He's gonna pick me.
This is crazy."
[TJ] He chose
Ryder Cherry,
and he also asked to speak
with Monica Monroe.
[Monica] My heart
just dropped.
And I- me and Ryder
looked at each other.
I was like,
"This can't be real."

[Madison] I was
really stunned that
Ryder and Monica
got picked over me.
I feel like he did
want to pick me.
Since I'm trans,
I don't think
he wanted that to even get
out in front of other women.
I think he wanted it
just to be between us.
I think he was scared.

Now, Dennis would
tell the women
if a client comes in and
he drops $30,000 initially,
don't pat yourself
on the back.
He's got a million dollars,
and your job is to get it.

[Monica] When we
negotiated with him,
we told him, like,
"Since you want both of us,
we'll give you
half off on one of us.
So, it'll be 50 for one and
25 for the other."
And the whole time
he was thinking
7,500.
But we were like,
"No, it's 50,000 a girl."
So, I was- we were like,
if you want two of us,
you'll get one for 25.
And he kind of just, like,
said, "Phew, man.
That's a lot of money."
And he was like
we sat there,
and we were like,
"We can do all this stuff.
Like, you have a
couple days to spend here,
you can stay however
long you want."
Like, we made him
really comfortable.
And he was like,
"Let's do this."

[TJ] I let Dennis
know that Lamar
had booked a
$75,000 party.
He was ecstatic.
[Monica] You know,
I kind of just sat there
next to him on the
side of the couch,
and she sat on
the other side of him.
And like, I was kind of just
like rubbing his arm,
and like just chilling,
like, leaning on him,
and just trying to
get comfy, and
We were like,
"Hey, you know,
this is gonna be fun."
[Madison] After Lamar
chose Ryder and Monica,
they were walking
around the house
thinking they were
hot [beep] and
they just were really, like,
proud of themselves that,
you know, they brought
in this big client,
at least they think
they brought in.

[Monica] I got him some
drinks from the bar,
and we sat there
and drank.
It was kind of just,
like, cool, like,
we're hanging out.
[TJ] Ryder Cherry
told me Dennis Hof
told her to get
whatever Lamar needed.

He knew,
with some clients,
whatever it took
wasn't going to be sex.
[DeAnne] Dennis
told the world that
the women at the brothels
were clean-cut,
and they didn't
do drugs,
and that the usage was no
more than it would be
at any other job.
[Dennis] We don't care

drug problem, including
myself at the time.
[Monica]
They didn't check bags.
They didn't have
nobody searched
for safety or anything.
So, if somebody
wanted to get high,
who's stopping them?
[DeAnne] We found drugs
in women's rooms.
There was syringes
with needles.
A tourniquet.
I took a picture of this.
It shows the evidence
of drugs in a brothel.
[TJ] Dennis was aware
of the drug issue.
I had brought it to his
attention several times.
They knew
that these girls did not
do this job sober.

[DeAnne] And everyone
knew that Lamar Odom's
weakness was that
he was a drug addict.
[Monica] We laid there.
I remember being in the
middle and Ryder was
on the side of me, and then
he was next to me.
Like, we just
went to bed.
We slept in the bed
that night with him.
Nothing happened.
[TJ] The next day
I did go into work just
to check on things.
I spoke with Lamar
a little bit.
He
was not drunk.
He was not on drugs.
[Monica] He would want a

We are booked
in a party.
But we're out just doing
our own thing, like,
we're not even doing
anything with this guy,
and we're getting
paid all this money.

[TJ] He had
actually bought KFC
for the whole house
that day. Um
But they, they insisted
there was never any sex or,
or anything like that.
He just was
here to, to
chill and relax and
nobody could
call him there.

[Monica] He shared with me,
like, past experiences.
Like, life experiences.
Growing up in, like,
the ghetto, and like
with not having money.

I didn't have
anybody there for me
to guide me
the right way.
He kind of related to that.
We connected a little bit.
And, one of his friends
had passed away, and
the same was for me,
one of my best friends died.
And,
we related on that.

So, like, the next day,
we were just kicking it
and hanging out.
And then
all of a sudden, Ryder,
she was in the

and I come in there, like,
"What's going on?"

And to me, I'm like,
"What the hell?

And Ryder's like,

"I'm trying to call
my friends
and see if I can

but she's like,
"Nobody's responding, dude."
And she couldn't

And he didn't
do anything.
So, like, I stepped back,
and I looked at her,
and she just
looked so scared.
And I was like, what?
In my head, I'm like,
what's going on?
Trying to process
what's going on.
That's when he had all that
white stuff just dripping out.
So, I'm like,
"We need to go to TJ."
Around,
like, three o'clock-ish,
I had woken up,
and I had heard
all this racket going on
in the brothel.
Like, it was just
hysteria everywhere.
And I ended up walking
into the VIP lounge
where he was staying,
and seeing foam, like,
leaking out of
his mouth.
He looked dead.
It was very
traumatizing
to see him in that state.
So, we get this call that
comes over the scanner
that says, ah
they need a
bigger ambulance.
The man's too tall.
We have a lot of sources,
you know,
we start calling around,
who's at the brothel?
Who's there? We find out
it's Lamar Odom.
And it's like,
holy schneikers,
you know, holy crap.
And then we find out,
you know, this is like a
serious incident.
And we find out that he's
went to Desert View Hospital.
We got the shot of him
coming out of the ambulance.
You know, and, you know,
big, tall guy,
feet hanging beyond the,
uh, the boards.

[Madison]
All of a sudden,
reporters start
showing up
so we had to get any clients
in the house out, and
the brothel went
on lockdown mode.
[Camera shutters snapping]
[Arash] When I heard what
happened to Lamar,
I immediately
thought that
this was it.
He had died,
I mean, it, it-
the way the story
was framed was
the kind of story that
you read about, you know,
the day before you get
the confirmation
that he had
passed away.

Dennis was like this
drug addict when
it came to media.
And so, as soon as
Lamar was taken away,
Dennis immediately called
TMZ and broke the story.

[Reporter] So,
Lamar Odom still in
critical condition
this morning in a coma.
Getting breathing support,
in bad shape,
after being discovered at a
brothel in Pahrump, Nevada.
[DeAnne] Dennis, in,
in the effort of trying to
keep this story going,
made up a lie.
He told the media there was
a transgendered person
at the Love Ranch South,
and Dennis said
that Lamar had partied
with this person,
in an effort, again,
to keep the media
talking about it.
[Madison] I got
a text from my mom.
She sent me a
Yahoo article that said
that Dennis had said that
me and Ryder had found-
discovered
Lamar overdosed.

And that is the furthest
thing from the truth
on my end.
I feel like my name was
deliberately put in the news
by Dennis to create
a controversy.
And I felt at the time that
I would be blamed for it
by the media because
they made it out to be like
I was basically
this evil transexual
hooker that
basically played a part
in Lamar's overdose.
[DeAnne] Our media
had always been
we tailcoated on
other stories that had
nothing to do with us,
and we found a way
to interject ourselves
in the story.
This was the first time
that we were the story.

t.
Former NBA star,
Lamar Odom
found unconscious
at a Nevada brothel.
I mean,
the world was there.
TMZ, CNN,
it just blew up.
And for us, it was very
stressful because
we don't really
deal with that much
in our small community.
The Sheriff basically says
that she's gonna do
a press conference,
and she wants to show
that we're on
this thing,
and that she wanted
command staff,
which I was at the time,
up there,
to show a presence.
And we're gonna convey
that we're doing our job,
and we're not gonna
allow this to happen
in Nye County.
[Reporter] Is there a chance
that somebody at the brothel
will be held liable for what
happened to Lamar Odom?
[Sheriff] That's possible at
the end of our investigation
if we find that, ah
that someone at the brothel
is responsible, ah,
then yes, of course,
they would be.
[Reporter] If someone at
the brothel held back
that they knew he was
doing drugs,
would they face charges
for obstructing justice
or something like that?
[Sheriff] They could be,
if we found out that
that were true.
[Reporter] Is it possible
they could lose
their license,
the brothel?
[Sheriff] Yes,
it's possible,
if they're found of
any wrongdoing.
Lamar is being driven from
Desert View Hospital
in Pahrump
to Las Vegas.
Ideally, for an
emergency situation,
you would transport a
patient via helicopter,
but because of
Lamar's size,
they have to
drive him there.
There's a lot of
question marks of if Lamar
is gonna make it
through that drive.
So, when Lamar Odom
gets to Sunrise Hospital,
he is intubated.
Ah, feeding tubes,
breathing tubes
Ah, just a really
tragic scene
from someone who was
really healthy and vibrant
not too long ago.
Now really looking like
he's not gonna make it.

I wake up to a text message
from Dennis,
and he says,
"Good morning!
It's gonna be a great day!"
[Host] I'm here with
Dennis Hof.
How are you doing today,
Dennis?
[Dennis] I'm doing great.
I'm a little tired.
Been caught up in a media
firestorm, and uh
But I'm doing good.
[DeAnne] We were
exploiting

struggling to live,
and Dennis was laughing
and happy, and he was

anything like this.

teammate, Kobe Bryant,
and Reverend
Jesse Jackson.
Shaquille O'Neal sending
a tweet with the hashtag,
#MyHeartHurts.
And Magic Johnson tweeting:

[DeAnne] Dennis used
that situation
to promote media
and to attack Khloe.
[Dennis] Speaking of
the Kardashians,
I got a call from
their publicist today,
and saying, "Are you
gonna do any media?"
And I said, "Yes, I'm gonna
go on the Nancy Grace Show,"
and they said,
"Please don't do that.
We'd rather have Khloe say
what needs to be said."
I told her to go to hell.

[Nancy] Okay.
[DeAnne] He was baiting her
with everything he could,
saying if she had done a
better job sleeping with him,
her husband wouldn't
have been there.
I think Dennis was looking
for Khloe to fight back
and so there would be
a big media war.

[Arash] During this
time period, you know,
we're talking four days,
it doesn't look like
Lamar is going to make it.
[Reporter] Lamar has a
50/50 chance of survival.
There are four organs
failing right now,
including his kidneys.
[Arash] I
had to write an obituary that
I prayed would never run,
but I was at that point in time
certain that it would.
[Monica] People were
calling me, saying,
"You're on TV." Reporters
were trying to call me.
I'm like, "How did you
get my number?"
It's not everybody's
business to know
what you do
for a living.
I don't want to be
in the media.
[TJ] Lamar was
still in a coma.
I do not believe he was
awake at that time.
Dennis said I had
to get on camera.
[News] TJ Moore, a manager
at the Love Ranch
says that she spent hours
talking to Odom
during his time there.
[TJ] He was coming
to relax and
just rest, and get away from
the spotlight for a while.
My thoughts are with him.
My thoughts are
with his family.
[Arash]
He had 12 strokes.
6 heart attacks,
collapsed lung.
His body was failing him.
His body was
effectively saying,
"I'm done, I have
nothing more to give."
[monitor beeping rapidly]
[flat lining]

A lot of
other jobs do drug tests.
Random drug tests.
Dennis never did random
drug tests because
almost everybody would fail,
including staff.

So, for Dennis to say that
there was no drug use
Ridiculous.
Most of the women,
they'd say things like,
"I have to get a little high
in order to get in the mood
to do this job." It could
be drugs, it could be
alcohol, but they had
to have something
to cope.
[Monica] Ryder,
I think she got into drugs
really bad, like,
prior to the Ranch.
And then got help and got
on a prescription
for methadone.
Her prescription of methadone
was a red juice-like
substance in a bottle,
like a pill bottle.
And she had, like,
4 or 5 bottles.
I don't think she
offered it to Lamar,
because it wasn't something
she would talk about, or
it wasn't like how I would
smoke my weed,
she wouldn't just be taking
her methadone like that.
Like, I don't know
what happened.

I really wasn't too scared
for myself
because I didn't
I didn't supply
any drugs.
But, she was
freaked out.
She was freaking out.

There was a huge exodus of
staff after that because
nobody wanted to
be associated.
It was, it was such a pall
over the entire place.

[Madison] I was just trying
to get out of there and
my friend Jocelyn
and I created a plan,
in the middle of the night,
and I just ran
with my luggage.
I cried the whole
45 minutes back to Vegas.

[Monica] It was really sad,
and it was scary.
And, I didn't want to have
anything to do with it.
And, in the middle
of the night,
I went out there
with my hoodie on,
packed my car full of
my stuff and I left.

[Monica] And Ryder,
she disappeared.

So, the Nye County
Sheriff's Office actions
from looking at the report
shows that they conducted
a thorough investigation,
in my opinion.
Um,
they checked the room,
they took a lot
of photographs.
At first, they started
investigating it
as a medical emergency.
And then after interviews,
they started trying
to eliminate,
was it a medical
emergency or was it
a drug overdose?
Um, that's why detectives
did a blood draw.
It was like a day or two
after the incident.
I started my emergency
services career in 1992.
I joined the fire department
as a volunteer.
And then in 2001,
I became an EMT.
And I left there and went
through the academy
and hit the street as a
patrol officer in 2004.
So, my knowledge
as an EMT,
I've seen a lot of the drug
overdoses in my career.
People very rarely recover,
and it does so much
damage to people
that, you know,
these situations
are so hard to deal with,
with family,
and it's just bad to
bring that into a business.

From looking
at the report,
it shows that the blood
drawn from the hospital
and taken
by officers to the lab,
it was determined that there
was very little amounts of
a cocaine metabolite.
Other than that, there was
nothing in the system.
But small amount stuff
is being pushed out
through the urine.
So, it's continuing
to come out.
That's why,
in my opinion,
that's why some of the
results were low.

[Reporter] The former
basketball star,
who wound up unconscious
in a brothel,
is reportedly
awake and speaking.
Lamar Odom, this would be
an enormous change
if true,
listen now.
Moments ago, we heard
from a publicist
from Lamar Odom's
family
that Lamar Odom
gave a thumbs up
and actually said
good morning today.
When I heard
that Lamar was showing
some signs of life,
it was very exciting.
But I quickly heard
from physicians that
we don't know
what this means.
I mean,
he could still die.
If he does
survive, we don't know what
Lamar is gonna look like,
what he's gonna sound like,
if he can walk.
He's probably
not gonna walk.
Like, we didn't know what
kind of Lamar would
leave the hospital.
I was so happy
when I found out
Lamar was
gonna make it,
and even more thrilled
when I found out
how he was doing.
And I was really, truly
speechless and emotional
when I got to talk to him
for the first time.

Is Lamar Odom's
survival a miracle?
And from everything
I reviewed
it is a miracle.
The way it works in Nevada,
especially in
Nye County, is
they do an investigation,
and if they determine
somebody needs
to be charged,
the officers recommend
charges to
the District Attorney's
Office.
Then the District Attorney's
Office evaluates it
and determines if charges
should be brought.
So, what occurred in
Lamar Odom's case
was that the Nye County
Sherrif's Office
recommended
charges of, uh,
under the influence of
a controlled substance,
which by the blood results,
was cocaine.
For a case charge,
where did he obtain that,
is the biggest question.
Was he given drugs
by other people?
That question by the report
still appears unknown.
They talked to some people.
Ah, the officers did.
And they interviewed several
of the brothel employees.
It appears that they never
really determined that.

[TJ] I stayed
in contact
with Ryder
for several years,
and eventually, um,
she told me
they had used needles.
And,
at the time
the police were there,
the needles were in
the bottom of the
chicken bucket in the fridge.

[Eric] The District Attorney
came out with a statement
saying that they were unable
to determine if Lamar Odom
was under the influence of
drugs in Nye County.
I don't know why
they denied the case.
I think pretty lucky for both
Lamar Odom and Dennis Hof.

[TJ] With all of the
violations and all of the
illegal things
that have gone on
and that he has done
with the brothels,
anybody else
would've been shut down.
There's no way
someone couldn't have
been in his pocket.

Lamar Odom
was on television,
and he was talking
about how Dennis Hof
tried to kill him.
[Host] You said that the
owner of the brothel,
Dennis Hof, you said
he tried to kill you.
[Lamar] You [beep]
right he did.
If I'm telling you I didn't
do drugs that night
and somebody drugged me,
I'm gonna blame it
on the owner.
[Monica] I remember him
saying that he didn't do
no drugs, and that
it was Dennis and his girls.
He knew exactly
what he was doing.
He did everything
he did on his own.

[Arash] Lamar today,
I love the fact that he has
launched these addiction
rehabilitation centers.
The one thing that
I always told him is that
you can make an impact,
you can change people
just by telling your story.
He knows that he has not
lived the perfect life,
but I think he can really
change people
and really help them.
The Lamar Odom incident
affected Love Ranch
Vegas' reputation
in several ways.
Drugs in a brothel
is a bad thing.
Nobody wants that.
It's very low, and
it doesn't scream safety.
The fact that the press
was crawling all over
the brothel,
clients don't want, ah,
some place where the
press is going to be.
And as much as Dennis
felt like there's no headline
that's a bad headline,
this particular headline
did a lot of damage.
It really almost
killed the house.

[Monica] To this day,
I can't get a hold of Ryder.
And the stuff that
I have heard isn't good.
Right now,
I'm happy.
I make my own
money now, and
I would never go back to
doing escort work, ever.
It worked out for me and
for some other girls, but
that's just not the place-
that's not a forever thing.
And some girls
are still there.
[Off-screen]
They're stuck.

[Monica] So, I'm very
proud of myself.

He was so proud of Cathouse,
it hurt him deeply
when it was pulled
from the air.
[DeAnne] Without Cathouse
to make him relevant,
he became more
and more desperate
to get into the media.
[Sonja] He was upset about
the county upping the rates
for licensing, and he got
a suggestion,
"Well, why don't you run for
office and solve that?"
[Dennis] If Donald Trump
can do it, I can do it.
I thought he's just,
you know,
looking for free publicity.
Dennis Hof is our
new Republican.
[DeAnne] Man, his ego
was through the roof.
He survived off of
very little sleep.
[Sonja] He exhausted
himself and his staff
running for office.
He had won the primary,
so he thought
he was totally
untouchable.
- Hello.
- Hi!
I'm Detective Tucker.
[DeAnne] Dennis has raped
so many women
who haven't reported
their crimes.
But, when Dennis was
running for office,
several women
did come forward.
[Shonda]
The new girl.
She went to the hospital
and got a rape kit.
And the state
police got involved.
He pushes me down
on the bed
by grabbing my throat.
Mr. Hof is extremely
rough with her.
Then I start to say,
"Stop!"
"I don't want to do this."
Hello, Mr. Hof!
Sherriff's Office.
There's a report of sexual
assault at your residence.
[DeAnne] The police
found out that Dennis
was sending women on
these illegal out dates.
If Mr. Hof is found
guilty of these crimes,
he's not coming home.
He's goinna die in prison.
