to a genetic counseling testing session
so we can learn about
the BRCA2 gene that she has,
'cause there's a chance we also have it,
and we have to get tested for that
and learn what the risks are.
You're more susceptible
to getting certain types of cancer
like breast cancer and ovarian cancer.
At the end of the day, something like this
makes you realize that, you know,
our stupid sister fights
really aren't important.
Yeah, I think it just
really puts things into perspective.
-And we're so lucky to have each other.

I just wanted to ask,
how are both of you feeling,
especially with the last couple months,
with everything going on with Mom?
I think for us, like,
we're obviously a little nervous
and there's a lot we don't know.

So I want to talk to you about
what types of results to expect at first.
So since Mom has
the BRCA2 genetic finding,
it is a 50-50 chance.
So it is truly a flip of a coin
for both of you to inherit
that genetic change as well.
But what does this mean?
If you test positive, it doesn't mean
100% you're gonna get cancer.
It just means
you're 55% to 69% higher risk
than the general population.
[Alix] I mean, I think it's scary.

I don't know. I don't even know
anything yet, but I'm just like…
[Pankti] I know it's scary.
But just thinking, you know, like,
when am I gonna have kids?
