City of Blood (2026) s01e07 Episode Script

Episode 7

1
We developed a new form of technology
that extracts sustainable energy
from human blood.
And the people deserve
to know what's going on.
-[Bea] They're here because of me.
-[gunshots]
[Phoebe] Come on.
[car revving]
-[gunshots]
-[Bea shrieks]
How long can you sustain
the supply at this level?
-I can't.
-Find a solution.
Otherwise we'll have to destroy the Dome.
Humans and vampires depend on each other.
It's insane.
[Phoebe] How are you gonna prove
the Dome runs on blood?
This Dome uses human blood
as a source of energy.
[Bea] All this blood is the energy source
of this place.
This Dome was created by vampires.
Bea!
Sorry, too late for that.
[Dr. Karliczek]
An infection spread to her heart.
Get me out of here.
[Johan] If you vote for him, you vote
for a Dome that supports everyone.
This is the end of us.
Because at the end of the day,
our hearts beat like yours.
[doctor] Let's start with the basics.
At its core, a vampire could be described
as a human-like creature,
only with a completely altered metabolism.
Instead of consuming regular food,
they tap directly into the life energy
of others, for example, through blood.
So think of them like an energy parasite.
Considering this metabolic situation,
it would give them
some fairly extreme capabilities.
A vampire would likely be several times
stronger than a normal human,
with quick reflexes and rapid movements
that we could hardly follow.
Their second major ability
would be extremely swift healing.
As long as vampires have access to blood,
they could withstand virtually any injury,
as long as the heart
and throat remain intact.
I imagine this at a cellular level as
a highly optimized regeneration process.

[reporter 1] Four weeks
before the Berlin election,
the unbelievable has happened.
A previously unknown man
has just outed himself
as a vampire
in front of several journalists
The young Berlin journalist Bea Hoffmann,
revealed that the Climate Dome
is powered by nonhuman created,
blood-based technology.
According to our most recent information,
Oliver Lawal is currently being questioned
by state security.
[reporter 2] endorses construction
of additional Climate Domes
[reporter 3] What this shocking revelation
means for the ongoing campaign
and Oliver Lawal's candidacy
is unclear at this point.
Evidence that inhuman creatures
are present in Berlin,
can no longer be ignored.
And still we're faced with the question,
"How many vampires live in Berlin
and exactly how much of a threat
do they pose?"
We now go live to the Climate Dome
with our field reporter, Georgia Hayek.
Thank you, Vera. Yes, I'm here
in front of the Climate Dome,
which had a complete
evacuation earlier tonight,
and as you can see,
a massive crowd has been gathered outside.
[Georgia]
I'm speaking with an eyewitness.
Sir, you say you saw a vampire?
Yes, I have a coffee shop
in the Dome and
I knew something weird was going on there.
Like these vampires
You can see in their eyes
how they mind control you. It's crazy.
They have this I wasn't done.
They have this way of looking at you
that just they'll make you do
whatever they want.
While many Berliners
are calling for action
from the city against the vampires,
other citizens are now starting
to advocate
that the government consider taking on
the vampires' offer of support.
-[siren wailing]
-[helicopter whirring]
[doctor] We're dealing with a biofuel cell
that uses these enzymes capable of
oxidizing the components of human blood,
such as glucose
and other organic compounds.
The electrical energy generated is used
We have since been able to ascertain
that this Dome technology
is under the plaza
in an unauthorized area
of 50,000 square feet.
It wasn't mentioned in the blueprints,
and during all inspections
it's been left out.
Has Laura Hoffman had any comments
regarding this?
What's your current assessment
of the city's general safety?
We've reinforced emergency services
in specific zones.
I propose a curfew until we have control
over the situation.
Well, let me think about that. I want
to avoid troubling the people any further.
Have there been any clues regarding
Moderson's whereabouts?
We're evaluating eyewitness accounts
and video footage is under review.
-Anything from questioning Lawal?
-[officer] Nothing yet.
His attorney is on his way to see him.
I want a full and complete
threat assessment done
within the next 12 hours.
[Hilda] Let us assume the worst.
How many are there?
How dangerous are they?
In the event of an emergency,
what's our defense?
Above all, I want to know
our legal standing in terms of
taking action against them.
[phone ringing]
Okay.
Arrange a meeting with the leaders
of the other parties.
We need to show a united front.
And get me Lawal.
[reporter] Experts consider
the biotechnology found there
to be singularly unique.
For many citizens, it remains baffling
that the true nature of the Climate Dome
and the existence of vampires
only came to light through the research
of young journalist Bea Hoffmann.
The political implications
for her mother Laura Hoffmann,
who was heavily involved
in the Dome project
as secretary of construction
are currently unclear.
