You Are Ms. Servant (2024) s01e08 Episode Script

Kimi to Sosu no Aki

1
[GRACE] You wanna know
where Yuki's little sister is?
- I have no idea.
- Yeah.
You tell me that after
I already bought you ramen?
[GRACE]
Hey, asking me for my time
and information is worth
at least that much.
And the only leads
you have are that bell
and the name "Hua", yeah?
So there's one bowl
ramen's worth of effort.
Speaking of!
What kind of teacher
makes a student pay
for their own food?
Don't distract me
while I'm trying
to inhale this thing.
[slurping]
[gulping]
[groan]
Aw yeah!
Japanese noodles
sure hit different
when you get
the authentic stuff!
Better than sushi for sure!
This is like, eighty percent
of why I'm still in Japan.
Seriously?
Yuki gets
what I'm talking about, right?
[scream]
[chomping]
Did
Did-Did
Did you
Did you just?
Would you stop
enjoying it so much!
I knew you were obsessed
with that Katsuda's Sauce stuff
but to carry around
your own personal bottle of it.
It's fine.
I mean, some people just have
their own flavor preferences.
Show the ramen some respect!
If you ever want info again,
eat the ramen
without the sauce!
Or else, no deal!
Ya hear?
There's only
a tiny bit of sauce left.

[FUKU]
Oh, I'm sorry.
I'm afraid we're all
sold out of the sauce.
Students have been
buying up our stock.
I'm sure you understand.
Of course!
The Katsuda Festival's
coming up, right?
I'm terribly sorry, Ms. Maid.
'Round this time of year,
it's hard to whip up enough
sauce to meet demand.
Lotsa back orders, too.
I'd say you'd have to wait
about a week
before you can buy more.
One whole week.
[FUKU]
That's what I said.
Mhmm.
Thank you.
Your sauce is
always so delicious.
I'm sure
it'll be worth the wait.
This is the most
character development
I've seen from her yet!
[HITOYOSHI]
That's not a lot.
It's gonna be tough
to make it last.
It will, so I'll cherish
every drop.
[HITOYOSHI] I've gotta think
of some way to cheer her up.
So, I was wondering,
if you ever met
your sister again,
what kinda stuff would
you wanna talk to her about?
I can't really say.
My memories of my childhood
are vague at best.
Even my little sister's
face is hazy.
As for my parents,
I can only remember
bits and pieces.
I've spent so much time alone,
but one thing I remember
for sure is this bell.
[bell dings]
I can't recall when,
but my mother gave
one to both of us.
I thought that maybe
if I kept on wearing it,
my sister would find me.
That was just wishful
thinking.
Nothing has happened
in the past ten years.
Besides, I'm actually
scared to see her again.
It's possible that after
all this time
she could hold a grudge
against me.
Oh. Does that mean
I shouldn't have gone to Grace
and asked for info on this?
No, your efforts
weren't incorrect at all.
Even if I don't see her,
just knowing that
my litter sister is okay
would be all I need
to make me happy.
Gotcha.

[HITOYOSHI]
I tried to console her,
but she ended up
reassuring me instead.
How's it going?
I didn't know
you have a sister!
She's gotta be
drop-dead gorgeous
if she's related to you!
[HITOYOSHI] Whoa Taiga?
Kobachi!
What the heck are you
two doing around here?
[TAIGA]
You forgot?
Nazca's new album
dropped today,
and I picked it up.
Check it out!
The autographed limited edition
only available in lottery!
Thank you RNG-sus
for this blessing!
Isn't Nazca that singer
who's attending
the Katsuda Festival?
Uh-huh!
Anyway,
are you guys out shopping?
You two sure are close.
- Closer than we are apparently.
- [HITOYOSHI] Huh?
You've had a lot of relatives
show up lately
and you spend
all your time with them.
Don't you think
it's all a bit much?
Well, I wouldn't say that.
Don't have any time
for your old friends, that it?
Hey, chill out, Kobachi.
There's no need to be jealous.
If you ask me,
I'm grateful to Yuki.
It looks like Hitoyoshi's
been having a better time
since she showed up.
That's something
you've noticed?
I sure have!
Back when
we were in middle school,
he was a total mess.
Only his longtime friends know
that about him, by the way.
- [grunting]
- Hold up!
He was being all rebellious
against his dad
or something and went
through this edgy phase,
and he was kinda hard
to be around.
"Edgy phase"?
[TAIGA] He always wore
this black trench coat
in the middle of summer
and called himself
"The Raging Knife"!
[grunting]
"The "Raging Knife", huh?
[HITOYOSHI] Why does he have
to humiliate me
in front of somebody
who actually has a dark past?
And do you wanna know why
he stopped cleaning his house
and taking care of stuff?
He knows
how to but he's a brat
and didn't feel like it.
- [scream]
- Taiga!
You shut your mouth, or else!
No!
Not my beautiful Nazca CD!

[gasps]
Huh?

[SAUCE]
That really hurt.
I can't believe you would
treat me so horribly.
No.
I'm so sorry.
[SAUCE] Just for that,
I don't think
I can let you drink me anymore.
[HITOYOSHI]
Ms. Yuki, can I come in?
[YUKI] Oh.
Yes, feel free.
Hang on, did you just wake up?
It's almost lunchtime.
Well, Katsuda's Sauce said
that it doesn't like me
anymore.
It's all over.
There's no reason to continue
living in this cruel world.
Do, uh,
you wanna talk about it?
Ah, I see.
Katsuda's Sauce spoke
to you in your dreams.
The lady said that
you'll be able to buy
more sauce next week
so don't worry about it
so much.
That's true.
I am fully aware of that.
But I dreamt
of something else as well.
[HITOYOSHI]
Oh?
Did you have
other scary dreams?
No.

[groan]
[YUKI]
I'm so sorry.
[groan]
[gasp]
[knocking on door]
Hm? Come in.
Um, could you please sleep
next to me tonight?
Huh?
[HITOYOSHI] Wow.
She's not doing too hot.
I'm too scared to sleep
and also scared that
I can't sleep.
We'll worry about
sleeping arrangements later.
I gotta cram for this
test tomorrow,
meaning I already know
I'm gonna be up pretty late.
So I guess we could talk
until you feel okay
enough to sleep?
If you don't mind,
could you please
do that for me?
Mhm.

Master Hitoyoshi.
Hm?
[YUKI] You are very kind
and the people around you
care for you dearly.
I think that you're a very
personable person.
Huh?
What are you saying?
I dunno if that's all true.
[YUKI]
Um, Master Hitoyoshi.
I was wondering,
have you ever felt
hatred toward anyone?
Hate, huh?
Lemme think about it.
Not sure if I've ever
felt strongly enough
to call it hate, but.
If I had to choose one.
[slurps]
I'd say my dad.
Your own father?
Well, it's kinda hard
to describe.
A lot of things have
happened in the past
which is why I thought
it would be best
to keep my distance.
Suppose it's just something
that comes with being family,
I guess.
It's just something that
comes with being family, huh?
Sis, I hate you!

Ms. Yuki?

[YUKI]
Um, thank you.
I think
I'll return to my room now.
I don't want to interfere
with your studies any further.
You sure?
[SAUCE]
It's all your fault, you know.
Everything is your fault.
You threw me away,
like you threw
your little sister away.
You only know how
to kill people in cold blood
and that's why everyone
hates you.
No, that isn't true.
I'm only doing my best.
I'm trying to be normal.
[SAUCE] Even now,
you're causing trouble
for Hitoyoshi and the others.
Take a look.
He doesn't really
want to be with you.
Not one bit.
Everything that's happened?
He knows
that it's all your fault.
[MALE INTERVIEWER 8A]
Maria, how old are you?
I turn seven
on the twenty-fifth
of next month.
I was told that you can
speak fifteen languages.
Yup! I wanted to learn them
so I could help out my mom.
[SAUCE]
You were such a little prodigy
when you were young.
It seems your mother works
as an interpreter, doesn't she?
Yes!
[MALE INTERVIEWER 8A]
My goodness, Maria.
You're answering
all of the questions so well.
Let me guess,
did you also learn this
- from your mother?
- Yes, I did!
My mom is so beautiful
and super smart
and has a wonderful smile!
[SAUCE] You had superb
observational skills,
a photographic memory,
not to mention athletic ability
far beyond anyone your age.
Though you were
in the spotlight,
you didn't care
for all the attention
and you lacked interest
in your many talents.
There was only one thing
you had eyes for--
Hi, Mom!
Hi, Dad!
[indistinct chatter
and applause]
[SAUCE] All you wanted
was to see
your beloved parents smile.
[giggle]
[ALL]
Happy birthday to you!
Happy birthday, Maria!
[giggles]
Let's clean you up.
[doorbell dings]
Guests at this hour?
[YUKI'S FATHER]
I'll go check it out.
Me too.
You girls just keep
on eating, okay?

Don't go!

[YUKI (YOUNG)]
Don't go.
Mom, Dad, please get back.
Stay here with me.
[sobs]
Everything is my fault.
I'm sorry.
I'm so sorry.
[SAUCE] In order to kidnap
the precious little prodigy,
your parents were murdered
and your sister got
caught up in the mess.
The tragic loss
of your loved ones
robbed you of your emotions
and that fixation of yours
shifted from your parents
to your sister, but
[dings]
[HUA]
Why.
I don't understand
why you're doing all of this!
I hate it!
Sis, I hate you!
And I don't want this bell!

[SAUCE] You were rejected
by your own sister
and all that was left for you
was the life of an assassin.
You killed in order
to go on living,
till before you knew it,
you lived only to kill.
Soon enough,
you became the world's
most fearsome assassin.

Welcome back home, Xue.
My dear, beloved disciple.
[HITOYOSHI]
Ms.Yuki.
- Ms.Yuki!
- [gasp]
Hey, are you okay?
Master Hitoyoshi.
Sorry, didn't mean to barge in
but something didn't seem
right earlier,
so I came to check in on you.
You were groaning
a lot in your sleep.
You good?
[shuddering]
[HITOYOSHI] Um, Ms. Yuki.
What are you?
[heartbeat pounding]
[YUKI] I fully understand that
I may be troubling you but,
right now
let me stay like this,
if only for a moment.
[HITOYOSHI]
Ms. Yuki?
You had another
nightmare, didn't you?
[YUKI] I suppose
you could call it that.
[YUKI]
But I know it was more.
It was a dream
of a distant time long past.
I'm sorry.
I can't remember anything.
[HITOYOSHI]
Don't worry.
I hope this helps a bit.
I heard a pat on the back
gets people to calm down.
It's like the comforting
sound of a mother's heartbeat.
That's why it helps babies.
I dunno. I think
my mom may have said
something like that.

[YUKI]
Master Hitoyoshi's heartbeat.
It's so soothing.
What?
You don't know anything
about the Katsuda Festival?
[YUKI]
Correct.
I assume based
on the name that
it involves some festivities?
Hey, you assumed right!
It's the Katsuda Grand
Triple Festival!
A sports, cultural,
and music festival
all rolled into one.
Katsuda Festival for short.
It's a long-standing tradition
here at Ogiso High!
[KOBACHI]
Each class participates
in the three different
types of festivals
and competes
in an overall ranking.
And apparently one
of the prizes
that's awarded
to the winning class
is a specially made
Premium Katsuda's Sauce.
[TAIGA]
PKS for short.
Hearing that is giving her
even worse sauce withdrawals!
Well, it's impossible
for second years to win
the festival without knowing
all the ins and outs.
The student council
president's class
is bound to win it all.
If we wanna reach
the saucy top,
we can't lose
any of the festival events!
We have to keep up
with our grades, too.
And why is that?
Speaking of, how did you
do on the test, Ms. Yuki?
[YUKI]
I received a not-failing score!
Nice!
Way to go!
I was hoping to avoid
supplementary lessons.
Still I'm just glad
you didn't fail it.
That would affect your standing
for the Katsuda Festival.
Wait, it would?
[HITOYOSHI] As you see,
the average of the class
contributes
to the overall ranking
for the Katsuda Festival.
Last I checked,
I think our class average
was about sixty percent?
If you get below
a thirty-seven,
you won't be eligible
to participate!
So for someone like me
who's below average, oh no.
- What should I do?
- Don't worry about it!
As long as you can
maintain a passing grade,
you won't fall behind.
You should be able
to participate with no problem!
All you gotta do is work
extra hard
on those low test scores!
If that's the case
then I will work hard.
I'm going to work extra hard!
Last year, they did
a big trivia competition.
I wonder
what it'll be this year.
[GRACE] Just so you know,
Katsuda Bread's
a rare commodity right now,
so I had a hell of a time
getting my hands on one.
Hear that, sauce junkie?
You'd better be grateful.
I am.
Thank you, Grace.
Your efforts are appreciated.
Is something the matter?
Uh, yeah no.
[GRACE] Did she forget that
I took Hitoyoshi hostage
not that long ago?
Or does she just not
see me as a threat at all?
If we're done here,
hurry up and bounce.
If I get caught doing
this kinda stuff,
I'll be in big trouble.
Seriously?
You're making it sound like
this is some black market deal.
I told you to get
outta here already!
I have to finish grading
these tests before
I gotta teach gym class
in fifth period.
So, Master, regarding
the conversation about
the Katsuda Festival
from earlier.
In order for our class to win,
what sort of results would
we absolutely need to achieve?
Wait.
Are you actually trying to win?
Well, I guess given your
abilities, it might be possible.
But we need to keep
your identity
hidden at the same time.
[GRACE] So, you planning
to compete in the Festival?
You know you didn't write
your name on the gym exam,
which means you fail,
which also means
you can't compete, right?
[scream]
[GRACE] During the test, I took
a peek at your answer sheet.
And noticed yours
was the only one
without a name.
So, that would make this yours.
Dang, it's a real shame too.
With this score,
you would've ended up
passing for sure.
At least you get an A plus
in physical ability,
so your grades proper
are just fine.
[YUKI] I was a fool to express
gratitude to someone like you.
You only have yourself
to blame here!
Don't gimme that!
[HITOYOSHI] Um.
Would it be possible for her
to write her name in now?
Good idea!
But a deal like this one
is just too sweet.
D'ya think I would give it
to you for free?
[HITOYOSHI]
She's the worst!
[GRACE] I'll let you get out
of failing the exam
if you do a job for me.
Don't worry, it's not murder.
And of course,
I'll be terminating
our daily Katsuda Bread
delivery deal, as well.
Last thing.
Whenever you eat
a bowl of ramen,
you leave that sauce out of it!
How are you still
hung up on that?
Some sacrifices must be made.
Ms. Yuki! You can't give in
to her unreasonable demands!
[wind blow]

Wind?
[gasps]
What?
Her name's there!
What's the big idea?
Are you trying to pull
a fast one on me?
- [YUKI] Well, you see.
- Just hold on a second.
All of a sudden everything
is so clear to me now.
Ms. Grace was mistaken
'cause her eyes
were playing tricks on her.
Your name was actually
written on the paper
the entire time.
Where'd you learn how
to gaslight people like that?
[scoff]
All right.
I'm gonna let you off
the hook this round!
But I won't next time!
Do you two hear me?

I hate to say it,
but Ms. Grace is pretty
easy to trick.
[GRACE]
I can hear you, y'know!
No, you cannot.
So, that move
was incredible, Ms. Yuki.
How'd you do it?
Well, actually.
[panting]
I-I did it.
I hope I was able
to be of use to Ms. Yuki.
You were.
That was very helpful of you.
I appreciate the assistance.
[scream]
- Um.
- [YUKI] Hang on.
I recognize you.
You're in our class.
[NAKA] You see.
I, uh.
Wait.
Hikage, right?
Um!
I just.
Uh.
I, I.
I'm Naka!
Naka Hikage!
And I-I know
how to win
the Cultural Festival!
