Trinity Blood (2005) s01e09 Episode Script

1
I doze with you in front of the mirror,
with rouge fingertips
This hand unexpectedly showed weakness
and blocked your lips
I made a promise with you that day
And now we can't remember it
Why don't I have wings
to float in the sky,
like the wind,
like the clouds?
Why don't I have wings to sink
into the all-enveloping night,
like the stars,
like the moon? Ahh
Shall I prepare some tea?
No, thank you.
The College of Cardinals has deemed
the incident at Barcelona
the sole work of Barrie.
So that's the official position?
You're saying that a single person
caused that much destruction?!
That's such an obvious ruse!
It's the same as always;
the Rosen Kreuz never comes into the open.
You're certainly
calm about this, William.
I can't possibly
remain calm.
Noelle-kun
was a nice girl
Noelle-kun's body
is still being searched for.
- Have them work faster.
- Understood!
It seems the only consolation is that
my brother finally acknowledges
the threat made against Rome
after seeing Barcelona destroyed.
No wonder the place was crawlin'
with cops on my way from the villa.
There is a reason for that.
Archbishop Alfonso D'Este
has returned to Rome from Cologne
for the first time in 5 years.
The guy who lost
to the Pope, huh
By the way, where'd that
bungler run off to?!
He's still missing.
Missing?!
I'm certain Abel is in Rome.
When he last contacted me,
he fully informed me of the next
threat of attack and Silent Noise.
There is only one thing
he can do for Noelle
He must be in Rome.
Make certain you find him!
Let's go, Guns!
Positive.
It is all my fault
Your Eminence. Please don't
worry yourself too much.
It was not your fault
You can cry in front of me,
you know
Yes We have been bound
for 10 years now
Havel
Thank you.
Father Wordsworth!
I, umm, heard
about Noelle-san
Is there Is there
anything I can do?!
Of course! We need all the help
we can get right now.
Right!
It is good to see you again,
Your Holiness.
I-it's good to see you again,
Uncle Alfonso
I, Alfonso D'Este, am truly sorry
for my extended silence.
Oh, my! As I look upon you now,
I realize that the Papal conclave
was not wrong in bestowing you
the majesty of God five years ago.
That's not true, Uncle
I'm still very-
Do not humble yourself.
For the people's sake, I'm actually
filled with pride that I lost to you.
Francesco-dono,
Caterina-dono
It's been quite a while,
hasn't it? Five years now
Uncle! It's a pleasure
to see you!
I am glad to see
you're in good health.
I felt most proud as your uncle
to hear of your great successes.
Thank you, Uncle. We are
truly grateful for your help.
Thank you, Uncle
You are too kind,
Your Holiness.
So, I am donating gifts from my heart
so that Rome's even greater majesty
may be conveyed
to the people.
One is an obelisk to denote Rome
as the crux of humanity.
The other is a new bell,
as a hope for everlasting peace.
May its wonderful timbre resonate
throughout this blessed city
Father
So you did come back!
Caterina-sama was right!
Everyone is worried.
Let's go.
What's wrong?
Thanks to your information,
all the bells in Rome are being checked.
Everyone is working hard
to protect Rome.
Even you came back to keep it
from winding up like Barcelona, right?
Father
My appreciation is beyond words.
You're too kind.
Five years ago, I did begrudge
the fact that the Papal conclave
chose the lad over me, after all
the political work I'd done with them.
But five years was enough time
to wash away those hard feelings.
What I told His Holiness was no lie.
I'm glad I lost the election to him.
Incidentally, curbing Francesco-dono
must be tough, Caterina-dono.
Yes, I suppose.
After all, he probably would like
to unleash the Dept. Of Inquisition
to launch an all-out war
against the vampires.
Its very lack of marching orders
gives that section its presence.
However, the Department of Inquisition
may soon be necessary
How so?
I hear there is another group-
separate from the vampires-
working behind the scenes.
You know of that?
The supposed
"enemy of the world"
I also hear that one of your aides
perished as a result of their work
My deepest condolences.
How do you know this?!
I may have left the city,
but my love for Rome remains unchanged.
The city police just
completed its inspections.
All bells within Rome were checked,
including privately-owned ones,
but not a single one was found
to be out of the ordinary.
What's your opinion,
Professor?
William?
Oh, terribly sorry.
Is something the matter?
Speaking of bells
Was that one checked?
The bell Archbishop
Alfonso donated?
It was brought here
today when he arrived
Good evening, Abel.
I'm sorry.
I
There is nothing
to apologize about.
Nor for Noelle
What is this?
Abel
You're quitting the AX?
Because you couldn't
save Noelle?
You returned to Rome.
Wasn't that so you could fight them?
What about the promise
you made me 10 years ago?
I won't forget
what you told me.
Abel.
People are contradictory beings.
If you consider yourself
a murderer, then so am I!
Is that how you want it?
Your Eminence!
Abel-kun
It's all right,
Professor.
Forget about him.
It's time for the evening service
However, the bell
must not be rung.
You don't mean
There's no definitive
proof, of course.
But because it hasn't been
checked yet, it must not be rung.
Have you sent anyone?!
Father Leon has gone on ahead.
You must hurry too, Your Eminence.
The cardinals have begun gathering
there, as well as His Holiness.
If that's what you've decided,
then so be it
I assume you both realize
whose donation that bell is?
We are fully aware it was donated
by Archbishop Alfonso D'Este.
It entered Rome unchecked
under his indulgence as archbishop.
All bells in Rome
have been inspected.
All checks turned up nothing.
The only one left is that bell.
I've heard about
the threat of attack,
but isn't placing Inquisitors
within the bell tower a bit much?
No, there is no such thing
as being too cautious.
Sister really is late,
Brother
Curse you, Caterina!
Keeping His Holiness waiting like this
We have no choice.
Beginning promptly is the very essence
of this evening service.
Y-yeah
Everyone! The evening
service will begin shortly!
Tonight, ringing for its
very first time in Rome,
is the bell dedicated
by Archbishop Alfonso D'Este!
Stop!
- Outta the way! Don't ring that bell!
- Hey! Settle down!
Who are you?!
Your behavior before
His Holiness is disrespectful!
I just need a second!
Lemme check that bell!
What nonsense!
B- Brother!
Cur! You must be
one of Caterina's lackeys!
That's right.
Duchess!
Sister!
Please call off
the service for now.
Explain yourself,
Caterina!
Brother. Might I ask you to refrain
from ringing Uncle's bell for now?
What?!
Surely you're not insinuating
that his bell belongs to said terrorists?!
Are you suggesting that ringing
this bell will decimate Rome?!
I'm simply saying
that possibility exists.
On what grounds?!
Because it was not checked
by an outside group when he brought it in.
What nonsense is this?!
How can you possibly
suspect this bell?!
Or are you daring to suggest
that Uncle is in league with them?!
I haven't said that!
We simply mustn't underestimate
the terrorists who razed Barcelona.
Uncle, I ask that you
please let go of that.
It is possible that you've
been used by the terrorists.
Me, being used? I'll have
you know my bell is pristine!
I'm on it!
There is no reason to take
the trouble to inspect it.
Have your suspicions
been cleared now
Niece?
S- Sister
What do you have to say for your
rudeness before His Holiness?!
I know this will not remain forever
However,
it's beautiful
Your eyes, hands,
and your warm smile
They're my treasure
It's hard to forget
I wish there was a solution
Don't spend your time in confusion
I'll turn back now and spread
My broken wings- still strong enough
to cross the ocean with
My broken wings- how far
should I go drifting in the wind
Higher and higher in the light
(My broken wings)
Still strong enough
to cross the ocean with
My broken wings- how far
should I go drifting in the wind
Across the sky,
just keep on flying
(What's falling from the sky
is not rain )
