Scooby-Doo, Where's the Crew?

550
This will make a terrific science report
for school, Professor Poisson.
A salvage mission with
the world's greatest oceanographer.
Yeah, thanks for inviting us, professor.
Glad to have you aboard, kids.
The maritime museum has asked me
to recover ancient golden relics
from the wreck
of the ill-fated Diablo d'Oro.
And since you are all
eperienced scuba divers
you may thank me
by assisting in the salvage.
We researched what little is known
about the wreck, professor.
Right. The Diablo d'Oro was skippered
by one Captain Francisco Pescado.
Speak not lightly
about Captain Pescado, lassie.
How's that, Mr. Carp?
There be strange stories
about the Diablo d'Oro, lassie.
Other ships have tried for her treasure.
And none have returned.
There be rumors that
after three centuries
the ghost of Captain Pescado
still walks the slimy decks
of the Diablo d'Oro
and guards her against all intruders.
-Ghost?
-Like, did you say ''ghost,'' Mr. Carp?
Aye, laddie. Not only a ghost
it also be said he has
a motley crew of sea monsters.
-Sea monsters?
-Aye, laddie.
Horrible, dripping monsters
from the deep sea, it is.
Old wives' tales, kids.
Don't let them make you nervous.
Who's nervous? l always shake like this
when l'm at sea.
Me too.
We are over the wreck, Mr. Carp.
Aye, aye, professor.
Let go forward, Mr. McGill.
Help.
Your sea monster's
only a flying fish, Scooby.
Flying fish?
Hey, come on, guys.
Let's get some sleep, huh?
Good night, little flying fish.
-What happened?
-l think he fainted.
Ghost. Ghost.
Ghost?
Where, Scooby?
-Ghost.
-And sea monsters.
-What's all the ecitement?
-We saw them.
-There's sea monsters.
-And a ghost.
Ghost? Where? Where?
Come on, we'll show you.
They were there in the ocean.
Right there.
Well, they're not there now.
And l know why they're not there now.
Look. They've come aboard.
Let's get the professor.
Any old porthole in the storm, Scoob.
Quick, in here.
l thought you kids
had turned in for the night.
Like, we turned in, and the ghost
and the sea monsters turned up.
-What?
-Shaggy's right, professor.
They not only turned up,
they came aboard.
That must be them.
l warned you, Professor Poisson.
Now there'll be
the ghost of Captain Pescado
and his sea monsters
aboard this vessel.
-Aye.
-We saw them, Mr. Carp.
Aye, laddie. And it's horrible
and dripping, they were.
They be warning us away from the wreck
of the Diablo d'Oro, professor.
And l be suggesting that we up anchor
and leave this cursed spot.
As a man of science,
l don't believe in ghosts, Mr. Carp.
And l will not abort this salvage mission.
Would that be your final decision, sir?
lt is, Mr. Carp.
Then with your permission,
we be taking the launch, sir.
lt'll be waiting in port when you return.
lf you return.
Ye be welcome to join us, lads.
Like, what are we waiting for?
l'm with you.
Scooby.
There aren't any Scooby Snacks
back in port.
Scooby Snacks?
Thanks, Velma.
Like, you talked me into staying.
Hey. How about me?
Good luck to ye, professor.
Let's get a good night's sleep, kids.
l'm sure we can clear up this mystery
in the morning.
Well, seven bells and all's well.
All hands on deck,
and all that nautical lingo.
-Morning, Fred.
-Where's Shaggy and Scooby?
Like, is the coast clear?
The coast is 40 miles from here, Shag.
But the hallway is clear.
Come on, let's get the professor.
Maybe those are footprints
they made last night.
No. They should have dried up by now.
These are fresh.
And they lead to the professor's cabin.
Professor? Professor Poisson?
-Creepers.
-There's been a struggle in here.
And the professor lost. He's gone.
Oh, boy. We're in the middle of the ocean
on a haunted ship.
What are we gonna do?
First, we're gonna look for clues.
Then we'll try to find the professor.
He must be aboard somewhere.
What kind of clues are we looking for?
Anything unusual.
We know they were here
because of the wet footprints.
Maybe they dropped something, or--
Hey, look.
A broken pencil and a notepad.
Maybe the professor left a message.
The top page has been ripped off.
But it left an impression
on the net page.
''l-M-C-M-M-S-C''?
The way that line trails off
across the page.
That must be when they grabbed him.
l-M-C-M-M-S-C?
What does that mean?
The only one who knows that
is the professor.
Right. Let's find him.
Shaggy, you and Scooby
start searching below.
We'll begin in the wheelhouse
and work down to meet you.
We'll go over this ship
with a fine-toothed comb.
Stay close behind me, Scoob.
Don't worry. l will.
No sign of the professor in here.
Right. Let's help Shag and Scooby
search below decks.
Creepers. The door's locked.
lt must have swung shut and latched.
Never mind.
We can get out the port side.
Oh, boy. This one's locked too.
We're trapped in the wheelhouse.
Now, don't anybody panic.
This is accidental, l hope.
Maybe the professor's in the galley,
Scooby.
-Galley?
-Aboard ship, that means ''kitchen.''
Kitchen? Oh, boy, oh, boy, oh, boy.
We'll start searching for the professor
again right after breakfast, Scooby.
Oh, boy. Breakfast.
Milk, syrup, butter.
-Did you eat all the pancakes, Scooby?
-Not me.
l've been cooking breakfast
for a hungry sea monster.
We're locked in.
l hope he's small enough
to get through the ventilating funnel.
l made it, Velma.
l'll climb down
and open a door for you.
You two try to find Shaggy and Scooby.
What are you gonna do, Velma?
l'll check out the engine room
and catch up.
Come on, Daphne.
Professor? Professor Poisson?
Golly, no sign of him in here.
Yikes. lt's locked.
And there's no other way out.
l get the distinct feeling
that somebody's trying to bottle us up.
The octopus monster.
Hey, there go Shag and Scooby.
Hey, Shaggy, wait up.
-Any sign of the professor?
-No.
But we didn't get much searching done.
Somebody locked us in the galley.
That's strange, somebody
locked us in the wheelhouse.
Hey, gang. Come here, quick.
Where are you, Velma?
Topside. Hurry. Up here.
Hey, what are you doing
in the smokestack?
Somebody locked me in the engine room
and this was the only way out.
Look what l saw when l climbed up here.
-Creepers.
-The ship's launch, adrift.
-And it's empty.
-l'll try to pull it in closer.
Look at all the wet footprints and kelp.
And there's Mr. Carp's cap and jacket.
Oh, boy. lt looks like the sea monsters
got the crew before
they made it back to port.
This mystery is getting serious.
We'd better try
and get some help out here.
Like, how?
l learned Morse code
when l was a Girl Scout.
Let's go to the radio room
and l'll tap out a distress call.
While you're doing that, Daphne and l
will keep looking for the professor.
lt seems like every door
on this ship is locked.
At least this one wasn't locked
while we were inside.
Maybe l can get in through the porthole.
Boost me up, Scooby.
Oh, no. The kelp monster is in there.
Like, let's split.
Wait, Shaggy, l have an idea.
Hand me that rod and reel.
This is no time to go fishing.
lt's a perfect time to go fishing. For help.
SOS. SOS. Our position is--
Scooby, look.
Yikes.
Quick, let's hide in the diving room.
Looks like Captain Pescado
is going back to the wreck.
Good riddance.
He was making me a nervous wreck.
Let's go tell the others.
-l think we've lost him, Scooby.
-l hope so.
-Help.
-Who is it, Scoob?
lt's Velma.
Did you radio for help, Velma?
l transmitted ''SOS'' and our position
but l don't know
if anyone received it or not.
What did you guys find out?
Well, we were in the diving room
and saw Captain Pescado submerge.
He probably went back
to the Diablo d'Oro.
Right. Let's get back to the diving room.
We're going down
to see what Pescado is up to.
Come on, Shaggy. You and Scooby and l
will go down in the diving bell.
Are you kidding?
That thing has a hole in the bottom.
Rela, Shaggy.
You see, air pressure keeps
water from entering the bell.
And besides, there's scuba gear
in the diving bell
and we're all eperienced divers.
But why me?
Fred's bigger and stronger. And he--
And he's also had eperience
with those lifting controls.
Coming, Scoob?
-All set, Velma?
-We're ready to go, Fred.
-Happy hunting.
-Oh, boy. Like, is this dip necessary?
l might get seasick.
Move the ramp, Daphne.
Is everything all right, gang?
A-okay, Fred. Lower away.
Help. A shark.
Rela, Scooby.
We're safe in this steel diving bell.
We are?
We're almost to the wreck, Fred.
Stop us here so we can swim out
of the bottom of the bell.
l read you, Velma.
l'll stay here
and guard the diving bell.
Oh, come on, chicken of the sea.
Keep your eyes open for
that creepy captain and any clue.
Hey, look. There's a clue.
Clue? They look like air tanks to me.
They are. But why would a ghost
and sea monsters need air tanks?
Help. Something's got me.
Are you all right, Scoob?
Yeah, l'm all right.
Look behind you, Scoob.
You were terrific, Scooby.
Shucks, it was nothing.
We've gotta warn Fred and Daphne.
What's up, Velma?
You and Daphne had better hide.
Captain Pescado and his sea monsters
are headed for the ship.
-We see them.
-And they see us.
This way, Daphne.
A dead end.
Locked in a tin can.
Now l know how a sardine feels.
Fred. Fred, do you read me?
Come in, Fred.
Oh, golly. We'd better get up there
and see what's happening.
Scooby.
Fred? Daphne?
Nothing but wet footprints
all over the place.
What do we do now?
Let's try to--
The ghost is coming back.
That's no ghost,
that's Morse code. SOS.
Are we glad to see you.
Did you find any clues in the wreck?
Yes. They--
Here they come.
Let's all hide. They'll think you're still
locked up and that we're still down there.
They've gone back down to the wreck.
That gives us a little time.
That gives me an idea
that'll give us plenty of time.
What a neat idea.
Now they can't get back aboard.
Like, that suits me just fine.
Like, me too.
What did you find out
aboard the wreck, Velma?
Well, for one thing,
they weren't guarding the treasure.
They were loading it in bags
to bring to the surface.
Look what we found.
But, like, we don't know what they are.
They're gold detectors.
lf they brought any gold aboard,
this should lead us right to it.
For starters,
follow the wet footprints, Velma.
Hey, neat. The signal's getting stronger.
Wouldn't you know, it's locked.
Let me try it.
Attaboy, Scoob.
Shucks, nothing to it.
A fortune in priceless gold artifacts.
-Professor.
-Professor Poisson, are you all right?
l am fine, Fred. Where are they?
Where are they?
They're down on the wreck
of the Diablo d'Oro, sir.
Hurry up, we must radio
the Coast Guard for help.
No need to rush, professor.
l blocked the diving well.
They can't get back aboard.
l transmitted one SOS, professor,
but l don't know if it was received or not.
Let us transmit again and be sure.
We forgot the boarding ladder
was over the side.
One more lap around
the deckhouse, Velma.
l've a plan to catch those creeps.
Quick, on the cargo net.
-Ready, guys?
-l hope so.
Up you go.
This time around, professor.
l don't know what you kids have planned,
Velma, but l am game.
Here they come, Shag.
On your mark, get set
nets away.
Like, l think we turned loose
with the wrong hands.
Nice work, Shag.
Hang on, Scooby. Hang on.
Looks like everything is under control.
You mean, ''under the net.''
Ahoy, Sea Prowler.
Did someone transmit an SOS
from this position?
l did, sir. l'm glad you received it.
l am Professor Poisson, officer.
You have arrived in time to arrest
a trio of treasure pirates.
Motley-looking crew, professor.
Who are they?
May we try, professor?
That note you scribbled for us
that was ripped off
this is the sheet that was beneath it.
''l-M-C-M-M-S-C.''
-Close.
-That ''l'' is a '' 1 .''
-Right.
-''One-M-C.'' First Mate Carp.
And ''M-M'' means, like,
McFinn and McGill.
The ''S-C,'' you were trying
to scribble ''scuba divers.''
That was an easy one to figure.
You kids amaze me.
lt was easy, really.
Mr. Carp said that the legend
was that the ghost and sea monsters
were guarding the treasure.
But as we discovered, they were
hauling it to the surface like crazy.
Also, we knew we were
dealing with mortals
when we swam down to the wreck
and saw all those etra air tanks.
Officer, these men
were my crew members.
They pretended to abandon the mission
then they returned
to steal gold artifacts
l am recovering
for the maritime museum.
Aye, and we would have succeeded
if it hadn't been for these
meddling laddies and lassies.
Can you finish your mission
without a crew, professor?
With these able assistants?
How can l fail?
Okay, let's go, you guys.
Well, back to the old diving board.
Hey, has anybody seen Scooby?
-How do l look?
-You look just great, Scooby.
Yeah, like the Six Million Dollar Dog.
Six Million Dollar Dog?
