in the war that attack began.
[somber music plays]
[exhales]
I'll never let anybody forget
what the Moon Chains did.
You're just talking nonsense,
claiming these crimes are
for the benefit of liberation on the Moon.
- But in the end, you're just--
- Jack.
Let me ask you, do you trust Sapientia?
The citizens of Earth
wear expensive clothing,
eat their perfect meals,
and have their heads
filled with propaganda.
All that ambition and hate with no outlet.
All the waste
they shed through their lives.
Everything's dumped on the Moon.

Our Moon will never know true peace.
All that blooms are the seeds of conflict.

if you hadn't come to the Moon

[gunfire]

I lost so much.
Finally, after a long journey,
I made it to my destination.
Where it all started.
The spaceship where we both grew up.
The Abaddon.
[uneasy music plays]
And then I finally understood.
The meaning behind my existence.
[music fades]

[beeping]
[exhales]
[somber music plays]
[Skylum] Your Engrave suit
has been confiscated.
Incredible technology.
A great deal more advanced
than what we have here.
You're Robert Jefferson Skylum.
[Skylum] Don't bother looking to escape.
This cage was specially made.
I understand the Joint Army uses them
for people they define as aberrations.
You're desperate, aren't you?
So bent on protecting your land
that you all become monsters.
I seem to recall it was you
who declared war on the Moon first.
On the advice of that damn Sapientia.
Have you ever considered
its true intentions for humanity?
[Skylum scoffs]
I guess you wouldn't be here if you had.

And despite all your grand preaching,

on the Abaddon.
[Jack gasps] Hidden command?
[Jack exhales sharply]
[Phil] You had, programmed
within your DNA, a digital poison pill.
As a fail-safe mechanism,
it was made to trigger the Abaddon's
self-destruct sequence.
[music stops]
You were a backdoor.
[tense music plays]
So you're saying
the command that you found

Right. With the help of Whiz,
I was able to dig up that command.
With the help of my right arm.
You, Jack,
were the security vulnerability needed
to strike that arrogant
artificial intelligence down at its core.
That day,
when the Orbital Elevator came down,
that wasn't us.
That whole attack
was Sapientia's doing.
[music fades]
[Mary] Hey, Jack!

[Jack grumbles]

how they're going to deal with L-Zone.
More importantly
strangely, these suckers
are posted up all over town.

[Jack] Phil!

She does seem
to be hiding something, though.

[high-pitched tones]
[music fades]

And Sapientia no longer has control--

[Whiz-B beeps frantically]
[alarm blares]
[uneasy music plays]

[Skylum] I vow that we shall no longer
allow the Earth to meddle in our affairs
or plunder our resources!
On this great day,
we stand strong together
and declare our independence!
[Phil] It wasn't supposed to
[music stops]
[tense music plays]
[Phil breathes shakily]
Do not waver, Phil.
Whiz-B's defense barriers
are down as well.
We can't allow ourselves
to be manipulated.
Now, Phil, destroy me for good.
No! They need you on the Moon!
If they lose you now, then
You've already made a statement of intent
to declare a war on the Joint Army.
There's no closing that box!

never really existed.
