Helck (2023) s01e20 Episode Script

The Mysterious Woman

1
[narrator] After
learning of Helck's past,
Vermilio renews her pledge
to fight by his side.
Soon after, they are
found by Harpey,
a member of the Empire's
Search and Rescue
who delivers a message
to them from Azudra.
[opening theme]
[THE MYSTERIOUS WOMAN]
[dramatic fanfare]
[intense dramatic music]
[demons roaring]
[Rebero grunting]
[howling]
[Lelepus laughing]
[Gaoriule] These demons are so
freaking strong, it's crazy.
We're lucky humans
didn't get wiped out
before the awakening.
Can't believe these freaks
have been our neighbors
this whole time.
It makes me sick.
We're joining the assault,
don't get captured!
Yeah, I know.
[Kenros] Yo yo, hear me out.
What do you say we
just settle down here?
There's no need to keep
killing each other!
Don't you just
want to hang out?
[Edil] Go to Hell!
Who in their right mind
could sleep next to
an empire of monsters?
Humanity can never
know peace of mind
until we overcome the
massive gap in pure strength.
Come on, dude, you
guys are immortal.
Eat shit!
Sheesh!
What about Helck?
I'm sure he's against
all this fighting stuff.
[Edil growls]
Keep his name out of your mouth!
Shut up!
I loathe all demonkin
from the depth of my being,
especially frivolous,
insolent jokers like you!
[Hyura] I guess we
agree on something.
[Edil gasps]
Hello, Hyura.
I share a similar
loathing for you humans
and monster shit like Kenros.
Aw, that hurts.
There are many different
races in our empire,
and yes, some are
just plain rotten,
but you know,
far as I'm concerned,
humans are the most
rotten and shitty of all.
The shittiest of shit.
There's nothing more fucked up
than you guys pretending
that all your shit
is somehow justified.
The world will never
see another race
as offensively shameless
as you human shits.
Lady Hyura kicks ass.
[Hyura] But I do hate
something about humans
above all else
and that is
how weak you are.
[Edil groaning]
I hate weakness with
a feverish passion.
[both gasping]
[Edil panting]
Dammit.
I'll kill you one day
and tear you limb from limb!
You can bet on it!
I'm getting tired
of hearing that.
Do not let that punk
commit suicide! Capture him!
Yes, yes I know.
[arrow strikes]
[Huh?]
[Edil gasping]
[demon] They just showed up
out of nowhere again.
[Edil gasping]
I'll get you next time.
Next time, you're dead meat.
Even though I know he's not
really dead dead for good,
it still makes me sad, you know?
[Hyura] You're
embarrassing yourself.
[Hon] Create a diversion?
But we're not even sure
we can find Lady Vermilio.
I told you, that's just plan A.
I have other plans where
you're the big hero.
Ah?
- I'm kidding.
- Ah?
You wouldn't stand a chance.
Since we are fighting
against undying enemies
with our limited numbers,
plan A will be
our best option.
Yes, but don't you think
that an army of only two people
is a little too small?
It does have its advantages
and those two are far
from ordinary soldiers.
You do realize that, right?
So you're already counting
Helck as part of our team?
I get where
you're coming from,
but what happens if
it takes a while
for the search party
to reach My Lady?
Besides, we don't even
know if Helck's there.
I have made a list of warriors
as their replacements.
If it comes down to it, we'll
just send them instead, okay?
I understand your itch
to take action,
but a strategy like this means
we have no second chances,
which is why we're
going with the plan
that is most likely to succeed.
However, there is
another layer to it.
We convince them that we
cannot afford to strike back.
If they think
we're on the ropes,
then they might let
their guard down,
which will boost the success
rate of plan A even higher.
Great idea!
Except we've been crushing
them in every fight.
[Azudra] Yeah, there's a
nagging concern about that.
Well, of course there is.
I have been sensing a
strange presence nearby.
I'm pretty sure it's a human,
but one we don't
want to mess with.
What?
Are you saying one of them
has powered up enough
to be a threat?
[Azudra] I'm not sure.
It might be someone
who's just strong anyway.
Um.
- [Azudra] Say, Hon?
- Hm?
You remember how powerful
Demon Lord Urum was, right?
Do you really think he could
have been defeated so easily
even if the humans had awakened?
I do not.
There must be someone
aside from Helck
with enough power
to pose a threat.
Plus, even with immortality,
the way they throw
themselves at us is odd.
Either way,
my instincts are telling me
that we shouldn't make
any big moves right now.
We should use this time to
attain some new information.
[Hon] Which means we need
to hear from Agent Asta.
[Ista sighs]
Asta.
[Asta sighs] It feels
like everyone's hopes
are on my shoulders.
I've gotta give it
all I got today!
[Asta] Quite a lot
of time has passed
since I first infiltrated
the human realm.
The fact that I've been able
to go undiscovered for so long
is a testament to
my skills as a spy.
Well, I wish I could
take all the credit,
but the truth is
that conditions
have just worked in my favor.
For starters,
this place has a ton of
different areas for me to hide.
Plus, it's filled with
several hallways and doors
that are too narrow
for the winged nights
to even pass through.
Secondly, there's an abundance
of food supplies nearby.
Course, the only things left
are whatever has a
longer shelf life.
Third, the security
is very lax.
Like it's so poor that I wonder
why they even bother with it.
Anyway, despite how
convenient the situation is,
gathering intel has proven to
be quite the uphill battle.
I mean, most of
these awakened humans
don't even have the
ability to speak,
but I gotta say,
the quality of the castle
is way better than
anything else around here.
It's on par with
the buildings we have.
Oh wait, yeah, that's right.
The humans waged war
against each other
for over a thousand years
to control this castle.
[footsteps]
[Asta gasps]
Someone's coming.
I didn't think they
came down here.
Crap, I gotta move or they're
gonna find me this time!
Easy, Asta, just gotta stay calm
and keep changing position.
It's fine,
nothing to worry about.
[Asta gasps]
Uh-oh! Not good, not good!
These hallways are
wide enough for them!
Oh, poo!
[soft, tense music]
[Zeruzeon] Did that same blue
bitch take you down again?
[Edil] I hate to say it,
but she's still beyond my
skill level at this point.
[Asta] Oh, some knights
who can talk.
[dramatic music]
[narrator] Spy item:
Hearing Gum.
It boosts auditory perception.
However, Asta's ears are
already plenty sharp,
it's purely psychological.
Hmm.
It's almost time to
shift into phase two.
You might be sent over
to the Demon Lord's
castle to the south.
Okay, then I guess we're
nothing but pawns of the king,
just doing whatever he says.
Yeah, that's right, Edil.
[Asta] The south side?
So they're going to
attack Castle Shin too.
Why bother getting hung up
on defeating one stupid demon?
I mean, after we reach
the final phase,
they'll all be dead anyway!
Stop!
- What is it?
- Is there someone here?
[Alicia] I don't know, can't you
feel something in the air?
Oh, you're all shook up.
Come on, this place is safe.
None of those goddamn demons
could have wormed
their way in here.
Don't sell them short.
They have already
gotten information
about our plans
once before, remember?
So maybe you should think
before you blather
out any more details.
- [Haraoul] Whatever.
- [Asta] Shoot!
But I got something
new anyway.
I need to hurry and let-
[Zeruzeon] And remember,
rats hide in tight spaces.
[Asta] Oh, crud!
Say no more, my friend!
I'm just gonna have to
unload a burst of my fire
into every rat hole that we see!
- [Asta gasping]
- [Edil] Are you trying to
destroy the whole castle?
Stop acting like a rotten kid!
[Haraoul] Eat it, Edil!
[Asta grunts, gasps]
Oh geez, gimme a break! Ah!
[structure crashing]
[Asta screaming]
[string bouncing]
[squishy sound]
[Asta gasps]
Man, that was too close!
Huh?
What the heck is this stuff?
[laughing]
It's so squishy!
[gasp]
Oh
[suspenseful music]
[Asta] What's the deal
with this guy?
Is he human?
[wind blowing]
Oh, here comes trouble!
This is really bad!
Oh!
Hm?
[knights soaring]
[gasp]
There's a hole!
I could fit inside.
Toodles!
It's so dark, so gloomy.
I don't like it.
Guess it's better than the
tainted air of the demon realm.
I really need to try and
get in touch with Ista.
Crap, my tumbler is gone,
it had my coffee in it.
I must have dropped it earlier.
[shouting]
This is turning into a disaster!
No way around it, I'll
just have to go to town.
[Narrator] Spy item:
Night Vision Glasses.
They offer clear sight
even in darkness.
However, Asta's eyes
are just fine.
[lighthearted music]
Better than fine, in fact.
They serve no purpose,
it's all in her head.
[Asta] Based on how
the air is flowing,
the exit should be this way.
Oh!
Oh no, no.
I feel a breeze here.
There must be a gap in the wall.
[bricks grinding]
Huh!
Dang, I'm good!
[Asta grunting]
C'mon!
A library?
What is this doing here?
Oh?
That book seems suspicious.
Let's take a peek.
"By using its full power
and so shall revive
for our great kingdom."
Man, this thing's so old and
battered, I can hardly read it,
but it looks like there's
a bunch of good stuff here.
This must be
the regular entrance.
I guess it's always good to
know of a secret hideout.
Boom, now I have a place
to go in an emergency.
[door creaks]
Whoa, I've never seen
this area before.
I'm not sure where
it might lead to.
[wall grinding]
[slam]
[Asta gasping]
Hey, don't make
loud noises like that!
I don't wanna draw any atten-
[armor rattling]
[Asta gasps]
Crap! Somebody's coming!
Okay, I'd say this is a perfect
time to use the secret room.
Oh!
It's not opening!
Hey, what's going on?
Let me in, open up, open up!
My work here is
far from finished,
but I've gotta run for now!
[subtle piano music]
[armor rattling]
This sucks,
there aren't any good places
to hide around here,
and there's so many guards!
Not to mention, the
halls are all straight!
This is so risky!
Something's coming my way.
[footsteps approaching]
Oh, what should I do now?
[gasp]
[footsteps continue]
Oh.
[footsteps approaching]
[armor rattling]
[footsteps tapping]
[armor rattling]
[Asta grunts nervously]
[nervous grunt]
[footsteps continue]
[Asta sighs]
[Asta] That was close.
Did he notice a change
in the flow of air
when I opened the window?
Not just anybody could do that.
[narrator] Spy item:
Retractable Cat Claws.
Allows the user to scale walls.
However, Asta is
perfectly capable
of climbing walls
and trees as well.
Is this all a game to her?
Oh?
[knights soaring]
No choice,
I need to go back in
through a different window.
[claws rattling]
[Asta grunting]
Oopsies!
[wings flapping]
Oh crap! Oh crap,
crap, crap, crap!
Wait, this window is open.
And I don't see anyone.
Okay!
[knights soaring]
Huh?
What have we here?
Hello there, boy.
What are you doing?
[Asta] Dammit!
I'm in such a rush,
I didn't even notice her.
Hello, boy, did you hear me?
Huh?
[Asta] What's with her?
She doesn't seem alarmed
that I'm here.
Why is she so calm?
She must be super strong
or something.
[Shalamy] Can you speak?
What are you doing
here in my room?
Well, you see, I'm
a traveling merchant!
I've kind of gotten
lost, and well,
sort of found myself here!
[Asta] Oh god, Asta,
that was so lame!
Really?
Amazing you got so far
with all the guards around.
Yeah, I guess.
The big guys with wings
kind of freaked me out,
so I had been pretty much
trying to avoid them.
That's how I ended up here.
Ah, I can relate to that.
They are pretty creepy, yes?
[Asta] At least she
can't sense bullshit.
[Shalamy] So if you're
a traveling merchant,
what country are you from?
I don't know about many
places beyond here.
What is your country like
and what kind of
people does it have?
[Asta] What?
Has she not even noticed
that I'm from the demon realm?
Also, what goods do your
people sell?
She doesn't seem
suspicious like at all.
No, this has to be a trick.
Ah, sorry, ma'am,
but I need to go.
Wait, won't you
talk to me for a bit?
To be honest, I've been trapped
up here for a long time.
Huh?
And I have nobody to speak
with except for my father.
It's simply boring.
All the people who I cared
about all went off someplace.
I'm just really lonely.
[Asta] It's because all
the humans got awakened,
so then, why is this
girl still totally fine?
[gasp]
Someone's coming.
Oh, it must be snack time.
Snack time?!
Come and snack with me.
I'll have them bring
some extra for you.
Oh, no thank you, I'm good.
I don't want
anybody to see me.
Oh, of course.
When a young man is
caught in a girl's room,
people assume they're
up to no good.
- [Asta] "Young man"?
- Right.
Well then you need to
hide underneath the bed.
You gotta be kidding!
[Shalamy] Whenever one
needs a good place to hide,
the customary thing to
do is duck under a bed.
[door opening loudly]
Hm?
[armor rattling]
[food sparkling]
I would like to have a
late dinner today, please.
[door closing]
You're good,
the coast is clear.
Um, thanks for that.
[Asta] She actually kept me a
secret and didn't tell them.
[Shalamy] Hold on,
wait a minute.
You're not
Huh?!
You're not what
I thought you were.
[suspenseful music]
I was wrong about you.
[music intensifies]
[Asta whimpers]
You're a girl, aren't you?
Ah! Uh, yeah!
Despite how I
must look, I guess.
Well, you're not a boy at all.
My goodness, you didn't need
to hide from the guards.
[gentle music]
No, I totally did!
I look like a shady character.
They'd throw me
behind bars for sure.
Yes, well, let's eat.
We are lucky that they
gave me so much today.
[Asta] This girl is
way too trusting.
I wonder if she
just has no idea
the humans are
at war with us.
[Shalamy] Oh,
where are my manners?
I haven't introduced myself.
Welcome, my name is
Shalamy, it's a pleasure.
Oh, likewise.
I go by the name Asta,
nice to meet you.
- Oh, thanks.
- [Asta] It feels to me
like she's been
imprisoned here.
Who exactly is this girl?
Hey, why do you talk like that?
You sound like a little boy.
There's a long story
behind all that.
[Asta] I just think she's
a genuinely good person.
Oh, what would
you like to drink?
There's plenty to choose from.
Ah!
Perfect, I'll have
a hot coffee, please!
[clattering]
[Hon] Oh God, Ms. Ista!
What, what's going on?
Ista collapsed in the
middle of talking to Asta.
I hope she
hasn't gotten into
some sort of
trouble over there.
[cup rattling]
[Ista] Ah!
You big stupid blockhead!
Why would you do
something so reckless?
Ah.
Pardon the sudden outburst,
couldn't help myself.
I take it she's
still alive then.
That's good to
hear, at least.
[Ista] I don't care
how harmless she seemed.
You should never drink
something offered by the enemy.
[Asta] It's okay, just relax.
You know my stomach
can handle anything.
I can handle spicy,
or too sour, or-
[Ista] I'm talking
about poison, you dummy!
[Asta] Oh, it's fine.
I can tell if something
is poisoned, okay?
- Don't get me started.
- [Shalamy chattering]
Anyway, I brewed the coffee
and I'm only eating the
same snacks that she does.
[Ista] Okay, fine, but gosh,
what a strange girl.
I can't believe
you found a human
that hasn't been awakened.
Do you think she's
special somehow?
[Asta] Well, she's
being held captive
in one of the castle towers.
I get the
feeling there is
something special
about her,
but I'm not sure what exactly.
Say, do you know
what their names were?
[Asta] Oh, no sorry.
Based on my conversations
with her,
she just seems like an
ordinary, regular person.
And she's, like, the
biggest chatterbox ever,
so I might be able to get a
bunch of good stuff from her.
[Ista] Just be careful, okay?
[Asta] However, there's
just one problem.
[Ista] What, what's that?
[Shalamy] I had so much fun.
[Asta] She's enjoying
talking to me so much,
I'm starting to feel guilty.
I mean, she's so sweet,
but I know I have
to stay focused
on carrying out my mission.
Anyway, I'll get in touch
if I learn anything new.
[Ista] Good luck.
