However, one day
bathed in light, a goddess descended before the people.
People of Comodo, your time has come to be free from suffering.
Your days shall be filled with good fortune for eternity.
The people stopped working, as the goddess had said.
Some turned to drink, while others delighted in gambling,
and began to live for pleasure.
The people grew lazy and corrupt.
Unlike the town of Comodo, which was bathed in sunlight,
the people's hearts were being engulfed in darkness.
But some, who saw what had come to pass, rose up against it.
That was when the goddess revealed her true form.
She was really a frightening witch.
The witch mercilessly rained fire down upon the people.
But the heroes never flinched, and after a hard-fought battle,
were able at last to seal in the witch.
The people who had been led astray repented, and peace came to Comodo.
And the people who wished to keep peace everlasting,
began a custom of shooting fireworks into the night skies over Comodo.
So that light would always shine upon the people's hearts.
No matter how many times I hear it, it's a wonderful story.
