are being blamed.
This constitutes

of an armed attack

It is vital that we do not react
as expected now.

The search for a mole boils
down to two simple questions.
Access and motive. We need to know
who had access to the computer
and of those who did
who had motive to pass
the Mac address to the Russians.
The computer in question
served as a sandbox
for the Malware department
for two years
and two months
until the time of the attack.
Anyone in Malware or I
could have accessed the
Mac address in that time.
What about CCTV and logs?
They're cycled every few months.
It would have taken
six months at least
to build it into that malware
and run the operation.
So those who only logged in for
the first time this year
are off the hook.
That includes you.
But with thousands of log-ins
18 months before
it does mean we're looking
for a needle in a haystack.
But there's a record of every time
a Mac address is checked
in the log files.
Date and time stamped.
So we just need
to cross-reference those with
who was logged in at the time.
Mm-hm. In that case,
it's lucky I had I
swap out the sandbox terminal
and bring it here.
And the data of ours
that was stolen?
Well, I've asked our
Composite Signals side
to work on
a full inventory assessment.
Nonetheless,
Cyber Security remains
stretched to the limit.
Is there any evidence
that the Russians
are aware yet of their data loss?
Uh, no. Trusov used UDP via Netcat.
He bounced via satellite.
Several satellites, actually.
We can trace the route back
because we know it's there.
That gives us a back door
into the FSB.
Until they know there's a leak,
they won't be able to
discover the route.
MI6 agents on the
ground confirm there's
no clear evidence they're
aware of the leak.
And while they are unaware, we can
basically see their every move.
So the British public,
who have seen ample evidence
of the Russian
attack on our streets
and on our news,
they as yet have seen no sign
of any actual response from us.
They no doubt think
the Russians have won.
The Prime Minister
has stated publicly
that he will take equal
and proportionate action

A symmetric attack would
be highly escalatory
and unpredictable.
In my opinion,
it would be completely unnecessary.
We are assured by our
