Rise of the Tech Men

[Dr Jones] Officer Reynolds,
another check-in already?
Rook Security was already
a dangerous job,
but it's gotten worse
since the Flex Fighters went rogue.
Well, there is good news.
Your men have made serious progress.
Conner's nearly healed,
just needs to continue physical therapy.
Schwartz's cast will come off tomorrow.
However, this gentleman
remains unconscious.
His life signs continue to appear normal.
I believe it's a chemically-induced state.
We're running more tests.
We'll revive him eventually.
The very instant he awakes,
contact Kane or myself.
Whoever this guy is,
one thing's for certain.
He's extremely dangerous.
Good evening, doctor.
Evening.

Number Six, is it time?
Yes, Twenty-Four.
And we might not get another chance.

What's going on in there?
Security!

And late last night,
a surprising explosion damaged
the Rook Unlimited Hospital Facility.
Officials say an electrical mishap
is to blame for this odd accident.
Fortunately, no one was injured.
Electrical mishaps do not
cause walls to explode like that.
Well, as we learned the hard way,
with Rook in charge,
nothing we see on TV can be trusted.
You guys talk so casually about this.
Like, "Hey, we're the Flex Fighters,"
and "We're public enemies,"
and "Rook hates us,"
and "Oh, hey, Erika,
wanna do homework together?"
Guys, I'm kinda freaked out.
Rook has no idea who we really are.
Unless this stray cat is a spy.
You're not a spy from Rook,
are you, Mr. Meow-Face?
[cat meows]
Doesn't seem like he's taking to
the name you gave him.
Oh, he'll come around.
Just like you'll get used to hanging
with three baller superheroes.
You mean four.
Right. Four baller superheroes
who are also awesome friends, and stuff.
Mr. Park, I love all these
old newspapers.
There's stuff about Rook Unlimited in here
I don't think anyone remembers.
It was much more difficult
to hide the truth
when everything
was printed on paper.
Come, there is more you have to read.
-What's with the stink eye?
-"Friends and stuff"?
You're just jealous
I spend more time with her than you do.
Not true. I keep a chart, and no,
you don't spend more time with her.
- You keep a chart?
- No. I was kidding about that,
'cause that would be weird.
[beeping]
Hey, that's my study alarm.
I got an extension on this essay
about Ancient Japan,
and I can't screw up
my second chance.
[stomach rumbles]
I'm hungry.
Cool if I get some snacks, Nathan?
Sure. I mean, if there's anything left.
I'll dig up something.

away from home again.
[all] I do swear to place the
right technology in the right hands,
the best science with the best minds,

who stand in the way of progress.
May technology bring glory to us all.
We've been reconfiguring the
Rook Unlimited Tech in secret for months.
But now we finally know
the location of the controller.
You were right to revive me.
We must make this opportunity count.
Off to another secret mission?
Tell Dr. C we said hi.
No mission. Dr. C and I are taking
a break for the next 24 hours.
A day off? You two?
Massages, drinks on the lake?
A day of mourning,
to honor my parents and the others
who died in that plane crash.

you'll actually, really be there?

with my family 'cause you're afraid
you'll just disappoint us?
Things change.
My dad says we're
in Charter City long term.
I even started unpacking
some boxes.
Didn't think
she'd give you another chance.
My eldest brother ate her yogurt once,
and she still doesn't speak to him.
I got this. Trust me.
Wait, if we both go, and Riya
and Dr. C are out of town,
that means Jake's
on his own for the day.
Chill, Nathan. Enjoy the play.

Hey, man, just checking in
before Izzy's play starts.
- Nathan isn't even forcing me to do this.
- I don't think this is a good idea.

That little prism was encrypted?
Dr. C's gotta have a program for that.
What do the Tech Men
want with little solar panels?
How is this important enough
to be encrypted?
Huh.
Rook's Solar Facility.
Maybe I can beat the Tech Men there first.
You're too late, Flex Fighter.
Bit early to decide that, don't you think?
I mean, I just got here.
We have commandeered the facility
and the prototypes.
Rook wishes for Charter City
to be his solar energy hub,

his machines back on him.

I got you, Reynolds!

[Engine roars]
Going down!
[Reynolds] I've got a tail!
Uh-oh.
[engine whines]
Should have buckled up.
That's weird. It's flashing, but for what?
EMP countdown has begun.
Clear the area.
An Electro Magnetic Pulse?
That'll destroy all the tech in the city.
Why can't I access my own solar panels?
[grunts]
How did they hijack them?
Nobody even knew they existed.
Stay on your targets.
[man grunts]
Eject!
You're welcome. Now we're even, traitor.
Reynolds, the Flex Fighters
aren't the bad guys here.
Help me stop this.
At this moment, we're on the same side.
You have a plan?
Uh these things are running up
on solar charge.
Any way to shut that down?
Drain the power of the sun?
[grunts]
What if we go the other way?
Create a solar flare?
It might cause an energy surge,
overload the circuits
and shut down these panels.
Does that airship have a Flexarium Drive?
-Of course it does.
-Blow it up.
That should create the equivalent
of a solar flare.
So your plan is to blow up our airship?
If you don't do it,
this disc will blow an EMP
that shuts down the entire city
and crash your airship anyway.
Sir, I might have a way to stop all this.
Are you insane? Do you know
what kinda damage that could cause?
[Rook] No, he's right.
That's the only way to shut those
things down. Make it happen, Kane.
Yes, sir.

-That's my granddaughter!
[chuckles] All right, Izzy!

Five missed calls?
Jake, I knew something would happen.
What's going on? We're heading to you.
No need. Things got a little dicey
for a second, but I took care of it.
So, how was the play?
No sign of the Tech Men, sir.
They got into my systems
and took complete control.
I need to know how.
I need answers.
We're looking into it, sir.
[birds cry]
[Ricardo] Oh! Best flower ever,
Dizzy Izzy.
And you got to see it with your own
eyeballs. Thanks for coming.
It's good having you,

Huh?
Missed call from my dad.
And it's good to be here.
You better get used to
[sighs]
[phone beeps]
-What's wrong?
-I've gotta go.
You're leaving all this food?
No. I've gotta go-go.
My parents just started a new business,
and they're moving us cross-country.
