MARCUS: [speaking French]

There is a missing student
from St. John’s?
Henry Sands.
The kids are here on a cultural exchange.
Our students were in Newfoundland
a couple months ago.

According to the tour guide Lauriane,
Henry was nearby,
then poof, he disappeared.
The group searched
the immediate surroundings,
the lab buildings, the bathrooms,
the nearby trails no sign of him.
Here’s the list of attendees.
All are accounted for except
for Henry’s dad, Carlos Sands.
When the students and chaperones
split up to search,
Carlos ran off alone.
He hasn’t returned since.
I gave them explicit instructions
to stay with a buddy.
It can be very dangerous here.
Well, the father, Carlos,
he’s probably out there
looking for his kid.

regardless of any instructions.

of the blood found on the bag
to test to see if it’s even Henry’s.
It’s been nearly two hours
since Henry was noticed missing,
and he’s potentially injured.
The bag was found a good ways
away from the cliff’s edge,
which likely rules out the chance
that he slipped in the ocean.
Parents Carlos and Edwin Sands
Edwin is still unreachable.
MARCUS: And what do we know
about the couple’s divorce?
- Was it messy?
- Show me a divorce that’s not messy.
PATTY: We got a hit.
We ran an image search through
the Marine Lab security footage
using a selfie of Henry’s.

MARCUS: Henry’s being chased.
Why would he be running away
that fast from his father?
ARCH: That’s not Carlos.
The clothing is all wrong,
and, uh, different build too.
Patty, do you mind
rewinding it a little bit
before the guy in the hoodie
enters the frame?
[computer key clicks]
ARCH: Look at smile on Henry’s face.
Like he knows who he’s talking to.
Yeah.
Yeah, we don’t have an angle
that catches the person’s face.
Yeah, but based on this, we now know
we’re dealing with a kidnapping.
ARCH: Henry Sands was wearing
a yellow hoodie,
black T-shirt, blue jeans,
and size 7 skater shoes.
We have good reason to believe
he’s on foot,
likely within a 5-kilometre radius.
Communicate with airport,
ferries, car services.
Search each and every boat.
A child’s life is on the line.

FITZ: The dogs picked up Henry’s
scent somewhere around here.
We got an ID.
It’s Henry’s.
He came this way.

it’s all on their tour itinerary.
Henry was leaving us breadcrumbs.

If the blood is not Henry’s,
it could be the abductor’s.
And the not so good news?
Owen’s got a criminal record
and the details are not great.
FITZ: You have to admit
filming a minor just before he disappears
is a little suspicious.
I didn’t even know that was the kid
you were talking about until now.
His name is Henry Sands.
He’s been missing for almost four hours.
ARCH: This is a repeat offence.

Filming people without consent.
FITZ: In Washington state,
voyeurism is considered a sex crime.
That was a rookie mistake.
I accidentally flew my drone
over some private property.

I lost my camera job at the news station.
It was a real low point.
I just thought moving here
