Saint-Pierre (2025) s02e07 Episode Script

Vanishing Act

1
There is a French psychologist
who consulted on the original
murders, Dr. Théo Fouchard.
DIARD: If you see anything,
anything at all
that seems off
come to me.
You two made wonderful kids.
I’m delighted to be able
to co-parent with you.
[sirens wailing]
MARCUS: [speaking French]
Catch us up.
There is a missing student
from St. John’s?
Henry Sands.
The kids are here on a cultural exchange.
Our students were in Newfoundland
a couple months ago.
How long has he been missing?
Ah, give or take 45 minutes?
According to the tour guide Lauriane,
Henry was nearby,
then poof, he disappeared.
The group searched
the immediate surroundings,
the lab buildings, the bathrooms,
the nearby trails no sign of him.
Here’s the list of attendees.
All are accounted for except
for Henry’s dad, Carlos Sands.
When the students and chaperones
split up to search,
Carlos ran off alone.
He hasn’t returned since.
I gave them explicit instructions
to stay with a buddy.
It can be very dangerous here.
Well, the father, Carlos,
he’s probably out there
looking for his kid.
That’s what I’d do
regardless of any instructions.
Hey, Claire! Stay away from the edge!

Those cliffs are pretty treacherous.
Easy to make a misstep.
Renuf, get the Coast Guard out there
while our officers
widen the search everywhere.
Well, find out anything
you can on the father,
see if there’s anything there.
And everyone, everyone here
needs to be questioned.
No detail is too small.
You know as well as I do,
every hour this child is still missing
The odds of him still
being alive drop dramatically.
[suspenseful music]
[theme music]

[slow, suspenseful music]
MARCUS: Our officers
haven’t found any trace
of Henry or his father.
La brigade canine est en route.
- That the canine unit?
- Yeah.
Excuse me, why aren’t
you guys doing anything?
A child is missing!
- Mom!
- Claire, honey, not now, please.
We appreciate your concern, ma’am,
but we know what we’re doing.
We have a protocol
and we intend to follow it.
Let’s try and keep our heads here.
FITZ: She’s right.
When did you first realize
that Henry was missing?
We were about to head into
the lab and I did a head count
and I was missing one. Henry.
Carlos,
Henry’s father, was barely allowed
in past Saint-Pierre customs.
Sorry, why why was that?
Carlos has a criminal record.
In case you haven’t noticed,
he’s gone now too.
Wait, are you suggesting
Carlos kidnapped his own son?
Claire, right?
Was, uh, Henry a friend of yours?
Not really.
Well, I’m sure, like all of us,
you’re looking forward
to him being found.
The police dog needs something
of Henry’s to pick up his scent
to help find him.
His jacket. It’s on the bus.
I told him he’d be cold,
but he didn’t believe me.
Let’s go get the coat, okay?
MARCUS: Tour guide is something else.
She’s implying that Carlos,
the father, he kidnapped Henry.
Parental abductions
They make up a large portion
of missing child cases.
Father’s full name is Carlos Sands.
He’s a social worker.
Lives in St. John’s, Newfoundland.
Criminal record?
Marijuana trafficking charge in Canada.
It’s over a decade old,
but more recently,
Carlos and his partner Edwin
filed for divorce.
Get the husband, Edwin,
on the phone, ASAP.
FITZ: Criminal record
could really make
a custody battle tricky.
MARCUS: Sometimes the most obvious answer
is the correct one.
We have a child and a father missing
Going to treat this
as a parental abduction.
[sound of dog panting and sniffing]

ARCH: The Marine Lab has cameras.
Patty’s grabbing footage.
She’ll see if there’s anything
of Henry, his father,
or anyone else.
I mean, over 70%
of missing children cases
turn out to be runaways.
Well, that would be optimal.
Trouble in a marriage, you know,
can really have an effect on a kid.
Lord knows I wanted to disappear
when I was Henry’s age.
We can call an " Alerte
Enlèvement," your Amber Alert,
until we know for certain
Henry was forcibly taken.
Well, his photo’s out there.
We’ve got all the official
ports of entry, exits,
they’re on high alert.
The real question is,
what if whoever took Henry
has no intention of leaving Saint-Pierre?
CARLOS: Edwin, pick up
the phone! It’s important!
Our son is missing!
Call me back right away!
Mr. Sands? We’ve been
looking everywhere for you.
I-I got a little disoriented
searching for my son. Have you found him?
We’ve got search parties
all throughout the area
looking for him.
Please don’t leave again.
I’m sorry, you want me to stay put?
We understand the instinct,
but while you were out here disoriented,
we were wasting valuable
resources looking for you
when we should have been
focused on Henry.
When did you last see your son?
Uh, we were listening to the tour and
I got distracted.
I was too busy taking photos.
I wasn’t paying attention.
Right. Does Henry have a cell phone?
I-I tried calling. It just rang
and then it went dead.
And I can’t get a hold
of my partner Edwin
back in St. John’s.
Our people haven’t been
able to get him either.
Is Edwin often unreachable?
He has a restaurant
that keeps him very busy.
He’s not great at responding
at the best of times.
Tell us about Henry.
Anything can be helpful.
He’s a normal 14-year-old.
He’s moody, funny.
He sleeps too much, he games too much.
He’s just
he’s the perfect boy, and he’s out there,
and he’s probably scared to death.
FITZ: Can you think of any reason that
may have caused Henry to run away?
Are you? No, that’s ridiculous.
It’s an unpleasant question, for sure,
but it’s definitely not ridiculous.
We know you and Edwin
are going through a divorce.
Yes, but no, it’s not like that.
Does he know anyone in Saint-Pierre?
- Somewhere he might go?
- No.
Has he ever done
anything like this before?
Look, Henry is lost, okay? Do your jobs.
Get your choppers and whatever
and find my son!

- What’s going on?
- The K9 team found this.
The strap is ripped at the seam.
Is that blood?
That is Henry’s backpack.
Henry
[sighs] His meds.
Okay, if this is his blood
Henry is a haemophiliac.
If he’s bleeding Oh my God.
[suspenseful music]
ARCH: Aminocaproic acid.
It helps with blood clotting.
How serious is the condition?
If Henry has hemophilia,
something as simple
as a nosebleed could be fatal.
RENUF: We’ve taken samples
of the blood found on the bag
to test to see if it’s even Henry’s.
It’s been nearly two hours
since Henry was noticed missing,
and he’s potentially injured.
The bag was found a good ways
away from the cliff’s edge,
which likely rules out the chance
that he slipped in the ocean.
Parents Carlos and Edwin Sands
Edwin is still unreachable.
MARCUS: And what do we know
about the couple’s divorce?
- Was it messy?
- Show me a divorce that’s not messy.
PATTY: We got a hit.
We ran an image search through
the Marine Lab security footage
using a selfie of Henry’s.
Look.
MARCUS: Henry’s being chased.
Why would he be running away
that fast from his father?
ARCH: That’s not Carlos.
The clothing is all wrong,
and, uh, different build too.
Patty, do you mind
rewinding it a little bit
before the guy in the hoodie
enters the frame?
[computer key clicks]
ARCH: Look at smile on Henry’s face.
Like he knows who he’s talking to.
Yeah.
Yeah, we don’t have an angle
that catches the person’s face.
Yeah, but based on this, we now know
we’re dealing with a kidnapping.
ARCH: Henry Sands was wearing
a yellow hoodie,
black T-shirt, blue jeans,
and size 7 skater shoes.
We have good reason to believe
he’s on foot,
likely within a 5-kilometre radius.
Communicate with airport,
ferries, car services.
Search each and every boat.
A child’s life is on the line.
Let’s find Henry Sands.
What can I do?
We have a procedure to follow.
You need to stay here
in case Henry comes back.
- He’ll want to see you, right?
- Yes.
FITZ: Actually, there is
something else you could do.
Could you please try and get
your husband Edwin to come here?
Uh, I called his parents, his siblings.
Everyone is worried sick.
I even sent my brother to the restaurant.
It was closed.
Did you check with any of his staff?
So stupid of me.
Uh, I’ll try his chef, Jonas.
I should have called him
in the first place.
That’d be great. Thank you.
[line trilling]
Hey, Carlos, things are crazy
for me right now. What’s up?
Jonas, have you seen Edwin?
I can’t get a hold of him
and it’s urgent.
JONAS: I should be asking you.
I haven’t heard from him in days.
Do you even know
what I’m dealing with right now?
Jonas?
This is Deputy Chief Archambault
of the Saint-Pierre Police.
When was the last time you saw Edwin?
JONAS: Carlos,
why are you with the police?
Is Edwin in some kind of trouble?
Henry is missing.
JONAS: Oh my God.
Okay, uh give me some time.
I’ll see if I can find Edwin.
Go with Officer Aucoin.
We’ll keep you posted
with new information.
I mean, the kid couldn’t have
just vanished into thin air.
The bag was found in the brush
on the west side of the Marine Lab.
Right. And the security camera
picked Henry up heading northwest.
Towards Le Grand Colombier Trail.
MAN: Hey! Over here!
FITZ: The dogs picked up Henry’s
scent somewhere around here.
We got an ID.
It’s Henry’s.
He came this way.
Who’s that?
Ticket stub from Musée Héritage.

ARCH: This wrapper
it’s from Le Girardin Bakery.

FITZ: The museum, the bakery,
it’s all on their tour itinerary.
Henry was leaving us breadcrumbs.
We need to find out
who owns this property.
[mysterious music]

Arch
Phantom Forest.
It’s a video game my kids play.
Carlos said that Henry was a gamer.
I bet this is his phone.
The kidnapper must have ditched it
so we couldn’t track him.
- Battery’s dead.
- [Arch’s phone buzzing]
Renuf is meeting us up ahead.

RENUF: Owner is Owen Jennings.
No employment listed.
Uh, lives alone.
Pretty remote.
Great place to stay out of view.
Hey, Arch, easy.
You seeing these tracks?

Henry’s sneakers were a size 7.
These small ones, they could be his.
And then there’s a larger set beside it.
ARCH: It looks like a a size 10 or 11?
The gait seems like Henry
broke away for a second.
There was a struggle.
FITZ: Renuf, get a team up here.
[police radio buzzes]

Owen Jennings?
ARCH: We need to talk.
Um, what’s all this about?
You didn’t get the missing person alert?
Of course, I did, yeah.
I just don’t know how I can help.
Were you flying this drone today?
Uh, yeah, I was.
But, uh, I was just getting
some landscape shots.
Yeah, we’re gonna need that footage.
Oh, no, no, no. You don’t understand.
It’s private. I don’t
Owen, there is a missing
14-year-old out there.
Your only answer should be,
"Whatever you need."
Unless there’s something on there
you don’t want us to see. Arch?
Owen, what’s your shoe size?
Uh, 10. Why?
You’re going to need to come with us.
[dramatic music swells]
[helicopter whirring]
[sirens wailing]
It’s been over three hours
and the police are doing their best,
but my son is still missing.
I need everyone’s help, please.
And Henry
if you’re hearing this
I love you very much.
FITZ: You guys, we gotta
get back to the station.
- Who is that man?
- Mr. Sands, please.
- Did he take my son?
- Step back!
- Where is my son?!
- Hey!
I will kill you if you hurt him!
Do you understand that?! I will kill you!
[dramatic music]
[car engine]

[intriguing music]

Not really thinking about pressing
charges on Carlos, are we?
I don’t see a need for it.
The man’s son is missing.
You can chalk it up to a bad decision.
He’s here to cool off
before we set him free.
I’ve been scrubbing through
Owen’s drone footage.
[computer keys clicking]
PATTY: He definitely lingered
on the school group,
like he was watching them.
FITZ: Well, Henry’s sure
interested in the drone.
And Owen is really interested in Henry.

What’s happening?
The SD card’s been re-used.
Ugh, it’s distorted.
It’s kind of important.
Yeah, I-I’m on it.
Henry is a gamer.
He would love that drone stuff.
Maybe that was Owen’s lure.
His way to get the boy to follow him.
I have some good news
and some not so good news.
The blood from the backpack?
It’s not Henry’s.
How do we have the results so fast?
They can ID blood type. It’s AB.
I checked with his father; Henry’s an O.
If the blood is not Henry’s,
it could be the abductor’s.
And the not so good news?
Owen’s got a criminal record
and the details are not great.
FITZ: You have to admit
filming a minor just before he disappears
is a little suspicious.
I didn’t even know that was the kid
you were talking about until now.
His name is Henry Sands.
He’s been missing for almost four hours.
ARCH: This is a repeat offence.
Seattle.
Filming people without consent.
FITZ: In Washington state,
voyeurism is considered a sex crime.
That was a rookie mistake.
I accidentally flew my drone
over some private property.
Look, I paid the fine.
I lost my camera job at the news station.
It was a real low point.
I just thought moving here
would give me a fresh start.
And here he is,
repeating the same mistake.
We searched your house, your property.
Where is Henry?
I don’t know.
Look, all of this is legit.
I was hired by a software firm
to shoot Saint-Pierre
for their immersive travel platform.
I just thought having kids in it would
make it visually interesting.
We’ll need a contact.
Yeah.
You’ll have to consent to a blood test.
Of course. Whatever it takes.
I don’t want to go through
that hell again.

[Fitz exhales]
You okay?
Yeah, I was just
trying to call back home.
You know, the kids are safe.
They’re just busy, I guess,
living their lives.
Don’t wanna talk to their old man.
It’s a hard case for a parent to work.
It’s a nightmare.
We’ll find him.
We have to.
I took Owen’s SD card to tech support.
They said it shouldn’t take long
to retrieve the data.
Oh, please,
check that Owen is working for
who he says he is.
Mm-hm.
Patty seem a little sharp to you?
Mm.
ARCH: Looks like Carlos
got a hold of his husband.
CARLOS: I will not calm down!
How do you expect me to calm down?
Edwin, our son is missing!
EDWIN: [phone] I’m sorry, okay?
I am I just feel helpless.
Are those the cops?
Carlos, let me speak with them.
It’s my husband.
Edwin?
Carlos said you arrested a man?
We’re doing everything
we can to find your son.
Have you heard from Henry
in the past 24 hours?
EDWIN: We texted last night.
Nothing since.
Carlos, I’m on the next flight
to Saint-Pierre. I will
[phone beeps]
The call dropped.
His cell must have died. Classic Edwin.
About earlier
I’m sorry.
I am not a violent person.
I don’t know what got into me.
Today’s not the day for you
to be too hard on yourself.
PATTY: The issue
the technical issue we have,
we have it sorted.
We’ll talk soon.
Let us know if he calls you back.
Thank you.
Owen’s drone has a 6-kilometre range.
It was over by the Marine Lab
But he was not anywhere near it.
Right, so even
if he had, like, a jetpack,
he wouldn’t be able to get over
and grab Henry in time.
Mm-hm.
Was there anything else useful on there?
Mm-hm.
FITZ: See, I knew,
I knew there was something off about her.
The girl? What do you mean?
Claire. Her mother is the tour guide.
I asked her
if she and Henry were friends,
if they were close, and she said no.
ARCH: They look pretty friendly.
And this was minutes
before he disappeared.
Let’s go talk to Lauriane and Claire.
LAURIANE: I-I don’t understand.
Claire hardly even knows the boy.
- Have a look.
- What’s this?
FITZ: Claire and Henry were together
right before Henry disappeared.
We’ll need to speak to your daughter.
[phone ringing]
Yes?
I accessed Henry’s phone records.
There’s a bunch of calls and texts
to and from a Saint-Pierre number.
I just sent it to you.
Maybe from Claire?
Okay, Patty. Thank you.

There’s a Saint-John’s
portion to this exchange, right?
It was a few weeks ago?
Yeah.
Is it possible
Claire and Henry hit it off?
Exchanged numbers?
My daughter is not allowed
to have a cell phone.
So, you’re sure Claire won’t
pick up if I dial this number?
[tense music]
[line trilling]
[phone ringing]

[dramatic music swells]
[ominous music]

ARCH: Do you want to explain
why there are numerous texts
and phone calls between you
and a missing 14-year-old boy?
Maybe you were right. Maybe
Claire and Henry
are closer than I thought.
Mm.
LAURIANE: She could have
easily borrowed my phone.
"Good morning, sweetheart.
"Remember what I said last night?
"You can stay here. It would be special."
FITZ: Hmm.
Those are not texts
from your daughter to Henry.
Where’s Claire?
You can’t hold her.
ARCH: She’s waiting to chat with our
consulting psychologist, Dr. Fouchard.
I would also be curious
to hear you explain
how this isn’t grooming.
[scoffs]
You have the wrong
No, look
After everything
I witnessed in St. John’s,
I was just concerned.
"Witnessed"?
What did you witness?
Henry’s parents, Edwin and Carlos,
they had multiple arguments
in front of Henry,
in front of all of us.
Edwin accused Carlos
of putting Henry in danger.
What kind of danger?
He told me all about
Carlos’ history with drugs.
Right. Carlos’ drug history
consists of a trafficking charge
for marijuana in Canada
which was thrown out once
that drug was legalized there.
Were there any other
drug issues you knew about?
No.
But is is that any way
to raise a child?
Trafficking is bad enough.
So, why were you texting the boy?
I wanted Henry to know he had a refuge.
Away from a toxic environment.
Do you know where Henry is now?
I do not.
We’re going to have
to speak with your daughter.
And you are going to stay right here.
ARCH: You buy that?
I dunno. It’s pretty weird
how she insinuated herself
into those people’s lives.
Slight overreach, yes.
But she’s not a groomer.
Speaking of overreach
why did you invite
the serial killer whisperer
to come work on a child abduction case?
Fitz
he has decades of therapeutic practice.
Dr. Theo.
Thank you for coming in so quickly.
Of course. If I can be of service.
We need you to help us
to get Claire to talk.
She’s scared,
but she could have information
to help us find Henry.
It can be hard pulling anything out
of a teenager once they’ve shut down.
THEO: Well, child psychology is complex.
Fears and instincts,
they’re still developing.
Well, she knows something
she’s not telling us, that’s for sure.
If we want Claire to talk,
we’re gonna have
to meet her on her level.
Make her feel safe and find an opening.
THEO: So, this is kind of weird.
Scary, even.
I hope you know how much we appreciate
you speaking with us.
I don’t know what to say.
Henry and you were talking
just before he went missing.
Was he upset about anything?
FITZ: Phantom Forest?
The game? My kids, they’re obsessed.
Are you a tank or defensive?
Healer.
I love being able
to fix the other players.
My daughter, she’s a healer too.
She says the other players,
they would be toast without her.
They would.
You played with Henry?
He’s a tank.
- My son’s a tank too.
- [chuckles]
And your mother probably doesn’t know
that you and Henry, you can
talk through the video game?

This must be really exciting
for you both.
Henry and you on this trip
after playing so much together?
I guess so.
You know, when I was a kid
I was terrified of my dad.
If I had a secret or I had
done something wrong,
he was the last person
I would want to know.
You know how that feels, right?
That sinking feeling
in the pit of your stomach
when you’re holding on
so tight to something.
Yeah.
And when I finally told the truth
it was never as bad
as I thought it was gonna be.
I’m sorry I lied to you earlier.
But my mom can’t find out.
THEO: Anything you say stays between us.
We’re in love, me and Henry.
ARCH: Claire,
if Henry is so important to you,
aren’t you worried
that he’s gone missing?
I think he’s with his dad.
Which one? Edwin or Carlos?
I’m not sure. She just said that his dad
was taking him away.
THEO: Did you and Henry talk about that?
How that made him feel?
Upset, that we had to say goodbye
maybe forever.
But
he said he didn’t
want it to be like Madrid.
What about Madrid?
What did Henry mean by that?
I don’t know. He didn’t want to say.
FITZ: Explain this to me
She said his father was taking him away?
You said "she."
Who’s the "she," Claire? Is it your mom?
[tense music]

FITZ: The father took Henry?
What was the plan, Lauriane?
I gave Edwin the itinerary.
We were supposed to meet up tomorrow.
He was gonna take Henry somewhere safe.
But then
Henry was gone, and I
I-I just didn’t know what went wrong.
I haven’t been able to reach Edwin.
I panicked.
I just wanted to help.
To make sure Henry was safe.
Well, he’s not exactly safe
right now, is he?
[breathing with exertion]

HENRY: Aah!
Where are we going?
[dramatic music swells up]
THEO: Inspector?
You, uh, gave me the break
that led to Claire opening up.
I appreciate it.
Well, let’s just hope
it leads to something real.
If Henry is with the father,
the odds of him being in danger
are reduced significantly.
Thanks for bringing me in.
Anything you need, do not hesitate.
Anytime.

You heard him. Anytime.
[playful music]
ARCH: [sighs]
Do you think Carlos found out
what Edwin and Lauriane
were scheming, and
took his son before they could?
Maybe.
Edwin’s flight gets in real soon.
Maybe we pick up Carlos,
bring him to the airport,
get them together,
and see what they’re hiding.
CARLOS: This whole thing is absurd.
Is this really necessary?
FITZ: As soon as your husband
gets off that plane,
we need to make sure
that he comes directly to us.
We have a witness claiming
in a sworn statement
that at least one of Henry’s
parents put him in danger.
Anything you’re not telling us, Carlos?
Lauriane
I saw her at the station.
That woman is the definition of busybody.
I have no idea why Edwin befriended her.
So, is it true?
Did either of you put your son in danger?
I work at a methadone clinic.
I had to bring Henry
to work with me once.
Edwin blew a fuse.
I’m sure Lauriane heard all about it.
ARCH: And Madrid?
What happened there?
You heard about that, too?
Huh.
Okay.
Yeah, we are a married couple
with problems.
We fought.
That doesn’t mean that Edwin
would ever hurt our son.
What were you fighting about?
The restaurant.
How he had no time for us. His family.
How he was never around.
[sighs] I gave Edwin an ultimatum.
The business or us.
Were you concerned you’d lose
custody of Henry in the divorce?
Wait you think, what?
That I took Henry to avoid losing him?
Well, a divorce can make normal people
do abnormal things.
No. We agreed to joint custody.
I want Edwin in Henry’s life,
and he wants me in his.
According to the agent,
Edwin wasn’t on this flight.
He actually arrived yesterday morning.
Sorry, how did we miss that?
Haven’t we been monitoring
the ports of entry?
Yeah, only since Henry’s disappearance.
How could we have known to search before?

We found this
in one of the rental lockers.
It’s Edwin’s.
[phone ringing]
Yes?
Arch, we have a problem.
We found fabric.
It matches the yellow sweatshirt
Henry was wearing.
It was caught on a fence,
and there was blood on it.
Okay, until it’s confirmed,
we should assume it’s Henry’s.
Thank you.
It’s a bunch of tropical clothes.
Henry’s.
FITZ: Two boarding passes.
One for Edwin, one for Henry.
To Lisbon. Through Paris.
Patty, get Carlos back to the station.
What Am I under arrest?
You’re not leaving our sight
until we figure out
where the hell your husband is.

Send out a blast.
We need to find Edwin Sands.
RENUF: [phone] Come meet me
at the Marine Lab.
I have an idea.

RENUF: It’s, uh,
good of you to help, Owen.
Oh, I get it.
There’s a kid out there. I want to help.
Right, so, he was lost in the interior.
If Henry is bleeding,
we don’t have much time.

ARCH: What is this?
Owen, take us closer?
FITZ: Looks like a person
there by that big rock.
It’s Edwin.
ARCH: Yeah, but I don’t see Henry.

HENRY: Please help me.
[suspenseful music]

[music swells up]
[mysterious music]

Lisbon, tomorrow morning.
Just a little vacay.
ARCH: According to your custody order,
it’s illegal for you to take your son
across international lines
without written consent from Carlos.
Well, Carlos was going to come too.
Well, that’s funny.
I don’t see his name on either of those.
Where do you have Henry?
I don’t have him.
They do.
- Who’s "they"?
- It was all his idea.
My idiot head chef and business partner.
Jonas.
He and I dreamed of
opening a restaurant together
since culinary school.
The teacher told us, "You
wanna make a million dollars
"in the restaurant business?
"Start with 2 million dollars."
He was right.
The restaurant’s going under. We get it.
Where is Henry?
ARCH: If you don’t tell us
what the hell is going on
in 30 seconds, I swear to God, Edwin,
I will not be held responsible
for what I’ll do to you.
No, no, wait. Jonas
he borrowed money from some bad people.
What do you mean, "bad people"?
EDWIN: That’s my doorbell cam.
These guys are loan sharks.
You borrowed money from loan sharks?
Not me. Jonas did that.
I didn’t know anything about it
until these guys showed up.
They threatened me.
Henry, Carlos
How much?
200 grand.
We couldn’t pay it back.
They were going to hurt us.
So, I took off right away;
came here to get Henry and flee.
- But?
- But they followed me
I think. I think I led them right to us.
They took my boy.
Okay, you need to tell us right now.
Have these kidnappers
made contact with you?
Have they made any ransom demands?
Anything?
I had coordinates.
The place where you found me,
I went there; there was nothing.
You better hope
that child is still alive.
They told me they were gonna kill Henry
if I went to the cops.
Show us the coordinates.
Any idea where those coordinates are?
MARCUS: Right there.
We picked Edwin up here.
Exactly where the dogs
lost Henry’s scent.
There’s only some woods and boglands.
No, no.
There are tunnels
underground everywhere around there.
The old ones the rumrunners used to use?
FITZ: Exactly. Al Capone, all
those guys during prohibition,
they used to use the tunnels to
smuggle their booze illegally.
And I know how to get to ’em.
ARCH: There are recordings on here
from Edwin’s Ring camera.
See if we can ID the men
who came for them.
You’re with us.

[Henry breathing slowly]

Of course your little Al Capone fetish
turns out to be useful.
This entrance was locked up years ago.

someone unlocked it.

RENUF: [exhales]
The hatch up there is welded shut.

So, they would have had
to have been in here.
Look.
Ooh
Gourmet mac and cheese.
Pretty fancy.
Fitz, Edwin and Jonas’ restaurant
is called Apex Cuisine.
So, what, the loan sharks,
before they grab Henry,
they stacked up on a bunch
of takeout mac and cheese?
Or it wasn’t loan sharks.
There’s more blood. Guys
This is very bad.

ARCH: Without his meds,
Henry will bleed out.
I scrubbed through
Edwin’s doorbell camera app.
It has an algorithm that logs
and groups repeat guests.
Guess who shows up more than once?
ARCH: Jonas’s loan sharks.
How often have they been
to Edwin’s house?
A bunch of times over the month.
ARCH: Edwin keeps lying to us.
ARCH: Do you want us
to tell Carlos, or will you?
Tell him what?
FITZ: That takeout container is
from your husband’s restaurant.
We found it where we believe
Henry was being held.
Guess what was inside?
Truffle mac and cheese.
Henry’s favourite.
The only people who know that are us.
And
Jonas.
Edwin did Jonas take Henry?
Does Carlos know about the loan sharks?
Loan sharks? What’s he talking about?
Why are these men at our house?
No more lies.
It wasn’t Jonas who got
into debt with these guys.
You not only knew about it
You set it up.
Edwin?
ARCH: Your restaurant
has multiple lines of credit
in Jonas’s name, but
he’s the chef.
He doesn’t take care of the books.
You do.
FITZ: Your husband
borrowed money from those men.
He was trying to dig himself
out of a mountain of debt and fraud.
Edwin, you you said
the bank wouldn’t lend you
any more money.
Did you take out loans in Jonas’s name?
I thought I could handle it!
The loan sharks
then they got angry and they
they came for Jonas.
FITZ: Who has your son?
Jonas, he must have
grabbed Henry as collateral.
He wanted the money to pay the men back.
Get up.

Please, let’s work this out.
