Ajin (2016) s02e10 Episode Script

I Won't Do It

[chorus singing] Open your eyes
This destiny
If I can't escape it
Then I'll swallow it all down
Both right and wrong
And I'll fight
AJIN: DEMI-HUMAN
The menace that dominates
The darkness in my troubled mind
The truth of a human
Who has begun to lose control
That meaninglessness
I've come to know it
If even counterfeit peace
Will break into pieces
I will cast
A defiant shadow
It's the end of escape
Stand up
Because it's the only way
Follow it
The small hope I aim for
The weakness that spilled
From the proffered hand
I swallowed it all down
Both right and wrong
And lost my mind
I WON'T DO I
We're continuing our coverage
from the site of the attack.
According to sources,
Chairman Hashiguchi has been
assassinated by the Ajin Sato.
Many AASF soldiers, along with a number
of riot police, were also killed.
As for Sato, police are still not able
to follow his movements
and have begun full-scale efforts
to track down his whereabouts.
Sources say that pursuing Sato
is extremely difficult,
due to the massive blackout that occurred
at the same time as the attacks.
Again with the funeral faces.
What happened in there?!
Why did you let Sato get away?!
Whoa, hold up, Mr. Tosaki!
How did things go so wrong
with you there?!
Your IBM should have crushed Sato!
Am I wrong?!
Say something, damn it!
Mr. Tosaki, try to calm down.
It's cruel to pin everything
that happened on Nagai.
Suzumura's right.
This isn't just Nagai's fault.
[Nagai] No.
It is my fault.
Not being able to stop Sato
Hirasawa and the others getting killed
It's all on me.
Can I go now?
Hey, Nagai!
[man on tv] That was live from the scene.
The police are also seeking
the whereabouts
of Yuu Tosaki and Izumi Shimomura
of the Ajin Control Commission.
Mr. Tosaki.
Of course.
Mr. Tosaki, what are you gonna do?
Always the fool, aren't you?
Huh?
There's nothing we can do.
It's already over.
Everything.
Actually, I'm the biggest fool here.
Trying to team up with Ajin
Well, here's what happens.
Forget losing my job,
now I'm a criminal, too.
[laughing]
[Sato] So?
How does it feel,
seeing people die because of you?
[gasping]
[Nagai] Please ghost come on!
Come on!
[sobbing]
You're sure of this?
[man] Yes, sir.
It was all taken by Sato.
Damn
Tell the prime minister immediately.
Prime minister,
if word of this matter gets out,
the entire nation will fall into a panic.
Is the threat that great?
If they were to use everything
they've taken,
it'd be possible to kill everyone
in the country three times over.
[groans]
Prime minister, you should keep in mind
the worst case scenario
and prepare a settlement offer.
I know.
Have that taken care of
while we continue the search for Sato.
Yes, sir.
As you can see,
the countdown is over.
But we never got a response
from the government.
It's a terrible shame,
but as I've said before,
we won't stop for anything.
Therefore,
within the next ten days,
we will begin the final wave.
And though you've made it this far,
for those of you who still pretend
to have nothing to do with this,
there's no escaping now.
That was the Ajin Sato's
How far are they going to go?
This is insane.
[grunting]
Three, two, one!
Careful with those.
We may have more than one life,
but those don't.
Sato's just playing around!
He doesn't give a damn
about a future for Ajin!
[man] Why are you staring
into space like that?
Thinking about food or something?
No.
Hey, Tanaka
Yeah?
Do?
Do you think Sato really has our?
-The Ajin's best interests--?
-I said it before.
We just have to trust him.
And either way,
the next step is the last one.
Right, Tanaka?
Yeah.
This will be it.
The end.
I sure hope so.
[humming]
-[knocking on door]
-Hmm?
I got those architectural plans
we talked about.
I should be able
to finish entering the data
for the underground tunnels today.
Sorry, I've dumped so much on you.
Hmm.
Mm. Very good.
And how about that other thing?
I think I can wrap it up on time.
You're amazing, Okuyama.
My word, this is shaping up
to be another fun time.
This next one is the last one, right?
[Sato] Depends on what the enemy does.
Why?
No reason, really.
I see.
You can relax, though.
I intend to seriously negotiate
with the government this time.
That's why we took what we did
from Musashi Industries.
Ah. Gotcha. I see what you mean.
We can't keep playing war games forever.
That's right.
I'll just be getting back to work, then.
[woman 1 over monitor]
The investigation has raised suspicions
that Dr. Ogura was kidnapped
by the Ajin Sato.
It was then that the safe house
was attacked by Sato.
First you move to ensure safety,
then you get back in contact.
That's the short version
of how it usually goes.
This e-mail was the last we heard
from Douglas Almeida and Carly Myers.
They disappeared after that,
and their whereabouts are unknown.
[woman 2] During the debrief
of the safe house guards,
we learned that they were under attack
from a small squad which included Ajin.
[man 1] We've also heard that afterward,
there was a car chase in the vicinity.
Given the circumstances, we have
to believe they were eliminated by Sato.
[woman 1] Which would mean
that Sato does indeed have Dr. Ogura.
Will you ask Japan
for an investigation?
A waste of time.
I don't think they can stand up to Sato.
However, if we send another team over,
we risk them meeting the same fate
as Almeida and Myers.
[woman 1] So
Even if we wait for Sato's next strike,
that should give us enough time.
Depending on the scale,
military intervention may be an option.
[woman 1] I see.
That would give us a legal way
to secure Japan's Ajin.
Exactly.
I'll report to the secretary myself.
SAMUEL T. O'BRIEN
DISHONORABLE DISCHARGE
What the?
A day this beautiful deserves
a full frontal assault without subtlety.
We've got a great show coming up
for you, folks.
Emergency! Emergency!
Armed terrorists are inside the base!
They destroyed our ammo stores.
All guard squadrons,
head to Point 4 immediately!
We've confirmed that the terrorists are
armed with rifles and rocket launchers.
Other units are to acquire live ammunition
in the main building.
This is not a drill!
Repeat! This is not a drill!
-Why can't we use the tanks!?
-The ammo was in the depot!
-What the hell is with these guys?
-They're just charging in!
Just neutralize them!
[Tanaka] You guys
can't stop us.
Go! Go! Go!
[all shouting]
Damn it! Kill them! Stop them!
What the--?!
[man screams]
We've now lost the ammunition depot
and the armory.
We have reports that they are Ajin.
What?! Damn it, where is
the Central Readiness Force?!
They're en route,
but still need more time to get here!
Tell them to hurry!
You're looking at a draft
of a settlement for Sato
that has been drawn up
by the Ajin Control Commission.
Prime Minister,
we have an emergency.
A ground SDF garrison
is under attack by Sato.
What?
This is Tanaka.
This area is secure.
Roger that.
Carry on with what we talked about there.
We'll be done here soon, too.
Yes, sir.
[man] Mr. Sato, wait!
We won't be done here anytime soon!
Don't let them gain any ground!
We just gotta hold on
until backup arrives!
Damn it!
Stay on target.
They're nothing but terrorists!
Keep killing them!
[groaning]
What the?
Heh. Didn't take long at all, did it?
Right
Well, then,
shall we take this place over?
Yes, sir!
Phew. I mean, that was easier
than I thought it'd be.
The SDF is bound by the law.
There's a limit on the weapons
they can deploy right away.
It looks like our plan to secure
the ammo depot and armory succeeded.
[Nakano] Nagai!
Nagai!
Nagai!
[Nagai] This is
video from Sato.
Listen up!
To support
the Central Readiness Force,
we have to protect this place
with our lives!
[all] Yes, sir!
Freeze!
I know you guys have
to work around red tape,
but I feel like I'm playing
on Easy Mode here.
Mr. Prime Minister, it seems
they've seized the command building.
How on Earth?
What's the situation there?!
They've pinpointed the vital structures
and locked them down.
Continuing to fight like this
will only increase casualties.
We will withdraw
in order to regroup our forces.
You're just going to let them win?!
We are not.
The CRF is already deploying
around the perimeter.
Can't we launch a counter-attack?
They may have chemical weapons.
Please, let us handle this carefully.
Mr. Sato, setup is complete.
[Sato] You really have a way
with machines, Okuyama.
This was nothing.
These are standard models.
They sure look impressive,
but will they actually work?
This is the latest model,
with auto-fire capabilities.
Was that supposed to be Okuyama?
[all laughing]
Sniper squad, in position.
[man] Roger that.
The terrorists have taken hostages.
We don't move until we have a read
on the situation inside.
Yes, sir!
Mr. Sato, the missile setup is complete.
Excellent.
Time to get this show back on the road.
Let's cut right to the chase.
We have prepared 20 high lethality
gas-loaded missiles for launch.
You should already know
how effective they are.
These murderous weapons were developed
in secrecy at Musashi Industries
under government orders.
Tanaka was their guinea pig,
as you'll recall.
Here are our demands.
Before 12 p.m. one week from today,
you are to evacuate Japan.
We will be founding
an independent nation for Ajin.
Evacuate Japan?
This is absurd.
Of course, I recognize
that this demand is extreme.
But the government
has given no indication
that they intend
to grant Ajin civil rights.
So, I am left with no other choice.
I must resort to using force.
All right!
I'm going to use this lethal gas
to kill everyone living in this country.
[cell phone ringing]
Yes.
I think we have more than enough reason
for military intervention.
No, we cannot let him fall into the hands
of the Japanese government.
As I expect all of this country's citizens
are well aware,
I am not playing around.
END TRANSMISSION
[Tosaki] Suzumura.
Can you handle weapons procurement?
Weapons procurement.
-That's possible, but why?
-You know why.
We have to stop Sato.
Huh?
Are you serious?
-But we no longer have any backing.
-[Tosaki] That doesn't matter.
Sato's already killed so many.
He won't hesitate
to push the launch button.
I have to
No, this isn't just my problem anymore.
Suzumura, take care of it.
I follow orders. And that's all.
That's what Hirasawa would've said.
Yes, sir.
I'm not sure what's going on,
but we're taking down Sato, yeah?
-That's right.
-All right!
Time to get some payback
for the old guys!
Nagai.
I won't do it.
What did you say?
TO BE CONTINUED
[chorus singing]
I'm tired of this one already, so
I'll trade it
For your ordinary one
A shiny holy card
For a grainy paper card
You can see them all
When you come to my house
So
Two of us in the corner of the schoolyard
While the wind blows
I might be able to say it now
Words I've never said to anyone
"Won't you come and play, I'll be nice"
"I'll give you anything, see"
"Be my friend
Always"
