Bonnie, brought us on their trip
to New Zealand.

the chicken who laid that.

smaller than this.
But whatever
kind of egg it is,
there might be
a baby bird in there.
-And its family
probably misses it.

But if it hatches here with us,
it might thing we're its family.
(giggles)
We're puppies, not birds!
Exactly. So our mission
is to return this egg
to its family
before it hatches.

Maybe it fell out
of that nest.

We found a lost egg
on the ground.
In that case,
it probably belongs
to a kiwi bird.
They can't fly,
so, they lay their eggs
in burrows on the ground.
The ground, huh?
Bingo:
So, we're looking
for a burrow.
Which is basically
just a hole in the ground?
Yeah. (grunts)
And I found one,
but nobody's in it.
Hissy (echoing):
Hi, there!
-(growling)
-(Hissy shrieks)
Somebody's in there.
Not a kiwi.
Then we gotta
keep going
through those
spooky trees.
-Hissy: Hmm.
-(Bingo gasps)
A burrow!
Maybe kiwis are here!
(echoes): Whoa!
This is one big burrow.
-I think it's more
of a cave, Bingo.
-Yeah, you're right.
And kiwis don't live
in caves. Aah!
Aw, don't get
frustrated.
(grunts)
Meow! Oof!
I'm okay!
(crackling)
It's a cave-in!
We have to get to the entrance
before it's covered!
-(panting)
-(rocks clattering)
No!
(grunting)
-Good news: We're okay!
-Bad news: We're trapped.
Once you're hatched
and out in the world,
you'll feel scared sometimes.
And that's okay.
Sometimes when I'm scared,
I sing to myself.
Hmm. What else. Oh!
When you do this
(burps)
say, "Excuse me" after.
I have tons of good advice!
Bingo (over walkie-talkie):
Come in, Rolly.
We need your help.
Aw, Ned,
your first words!
Bingo:

We're trapped
in a cave.
Don't worry!

We're in the part of the forest
with lots of birds.

If you come out now,
you might think
I'm your family!
I mean, I wouldn't mind,

would be sad!
We gotta hurry!

Okay. Just keep walking
into that grove of spooky trees.
(gulps)

Like I said, Ned,
it's okay to feel scared,
but I gotcha.
(humming cheerily)
(egg shell crackling)
-(groans)
-Ned: Nya!
You're hatching
so fast!
-Bingo (muffled):
Rolly, is that you?
-Bingo! Where are you?
-Bingo: Behind the rocks!
-Yes! Stand back, Ned!
Now, for some Rolly power!
(yelling, grunting)
-Hissy (muffles): Go, Rolly!
-(Rolly grunting)

-Bingo:

-(grunting)

That's, dear Ned,
is how a puppy does that.

(cracking)
Hurry! We need to find
Ned's nest!
Actually, that's a kiwi egg,
so it didn't come from a nest,
after all.
Kiwis lay their eggs in burrows.
You know, holes in the ground.
Wait, wait. If Ned
rolled out of a burrow
in the ground,
he probably didn't roll
very far from his home.
That's true. And we never
looked on the ground
near where we found him.
(cracking)
Guys, I think
that egg is gonna hatch
before we can get back.
-Not on my watch, Hissy.
-(motor whirring)
And I don't even wear a watch.
Bingo:

(gasps)
